035: Sidney Charles

Sidney Charles is a DJ and producer so famed for his own specific style of playing, that it even has its own name – ‘The Sidney Sound.’ With a music journalist mother, Sidney was exposed to a wide range of genres from a young age and it was the sound of hip-hop that first got him into DJ-ing in his hometown of Hamburg. Quickly tiring of a limited playlist, it was Hamburg’s own Mousse T that inspired Sidney to try his hand as a house DJ and he has never looked back since. Whether it’s producing tracks that are deliberately kept rough and raw, or playing to crowds that demand his unique blend of rhythms, Sidney always delivers something fresh and is forever pushing the scene forward – in this conversation you will get to hear how.
