Joe

Welcome back

Scott

to episode 2, week 2 of the 2024 hot takes podcast here at Freedom Physical Therapy with your host, Joe Ogden, and cohost, Scott Coonan. Scottie, hello.

Joe

Hello. My predictions, was a bit off. Yeah. Let's Yeah. The for the

Scott

for the season. Yeah. Let's get right into it, actually.

Joe

I checked, I checked this box up for a win when we went, game by game. So

Scott

Yeah. You did. Yeah. You did. Yeah. I mean, we'll just let's let's just jump right into it. Let's go to the week one recap. Scott and I both predicted a win. Week 1 in Brazil, Packers and Eagles, we predicted both the Packers to come out on top. That did not happen for those that watched. Those that didn't, the Packers did end up losing. Let's talk about the game a little bit. Alright. I enjoy that. What are your thoughts? Well Just overall general thoughts of the game.

Joe

General thoughts. Well, my head football coach from high school, Bill Coller, he used to say, if you do the little things right, the big things will take care of themselves. And, unfortunately for the Green Bay Packers, and it might be a multitude of of reasons, they didn't do the little things right, and, they got beat. Mhmm. The lining up incorrectly, I mean, those are just mental, mistakes.

Not getting the 12th guy off the field when we scored the touchdown, I mean, that's basically could argue the difference in the game. So those were the little things, but I think all those things are certainly fixable. And, as they as they fix them, I they'll just, I think, be, they'll just be better and better.

Scott

Yeah. Yeah. I mean, I think did you watch other games? Or

Joe

Yes. I'm yes. I've watched a lot.

Scott

I feel like week 1 as a whole was really sloppy for week 1. Like, as far as, like, just personnel and guys playing together, I feel like a lot of games were slow.

Joe

I I agree. I mean, I think that's just they these guys don't play in the preseason anymore. So, I think that's one of the reasons why, which I get why they don't do that. But then this is what you're gonna see Yeah. The first couple of weeks.

I mean, I think the defense, obviously, couldn't get off the field at the end, and that, to me, wonders is that some of the conditioning. But it's again, is that they were getting tired? Is that they're getting tired because it's their first game? Yeah. You didn't you haven't gotten that in game where you're gonna have to play a full 60 minutes?

And is that why they were just running out of gas at the end and getting gash kind of by the by the Eagles? So, all I think super correct correctable, and, I still have, high hopes for the season, especially with, Jordan Love not blowing out his his knee. Yeah. We'll get to that.

Scott

That's probably the biggest thing on the injury report this week. I I think you forget too that the Eagles are still really good. Yeah. I mean, they they flutter towards the end of the season, and they had a lot to prove, but that roster's pretty loaded Yeah. Especially offensively.

Joe

Right.

Scott

I don't think it helped our defense. I'm not making excuses, but I thought the field was trash for playing 1 on 1 coverage and that our new scheme just did not work out well, especially when you're chasing guys Right. In the secondary. Like, Jair guy getting beat twice on a crossing route. Yeah. And 1 deep ball. Like

Joe

Right. No. I agree. I mean, I saw a thing with Kenny Clark just I think his description was trash Yeah. When he talked about the field. It was because that field was just trash. So, I mean, that's a bigger topic of conversation is the NFL and why they play these games. You know? Like, I get it. They want it's money money money, but sometimes I just they just they do, I think, treat some of the players or players in general just as cogs.

Right? We just this guy gets hurt. It doesn't matter who gets hurt or how famous they are or how good they are. We'll find somebody else to replace them. And so they're less maybe concerned with some of the turf stuff and things like that.

Scott

Yeah. I mean, I think what's interesting too I mean, I'm all for trying to spread the NFL internationally because that's what their ultimate goal is. I personally think they're gonna go to an 18 game season at some

Joe

point. Yeah.

Scott

So that teams like the Packers and Eagles can't say, well, we're not good doing that because we're gonna lose a home game. And if I'll be like, no problem. We're just gonna add 1 more week so everyone can do it. But I think all that work that goes into international to have a product like that on the field, I think is brutal. I mean, wasn't that a preseason game? I don't

Joe

know how long ago where they went up to play in Canada and the field was unplayable, so they just canceled the game.

Scott

That's right. That's right. I forgot about that.

Joe

And, I remember game 2. Right? There was a game at, I mean, the the hall of fame game. The field was was and they had to cancel that game. Yeah. Because some or they were worried about guys getting hurt. So, yeah. I I don't know. I I don't know why the turf is like that. I mean, do you remember, like, like, especially on just a natural field grass? I don't know why it's like that. Like, when I played in high school, we just played on a field thinking all that

Scott

I mean, I can't speak. I mean, did you ever play in El Padua? Nope. There I thought the old field was garbage. Oh. When it I remember when it got dark, like, the beginning of the season Yeah. Because you're still playing with the sun is up.

Joe

Yeah. The dew.

Scott

It wasn't too bad, but, like, October, it was slicker than Oh. Anything. Everyone loved it coming because it's a, you know, historic venue to play at. Right? But the field surface sucked.

Joe

Yeah. No. I don't we I remember we we they put in a drainage system, I think, my junior year. So the field was kind of, crowned. In a wherever they put the drainage tile in. So, but by my senior year, that was all gone. I don't remember the field ever being slick or in Ours was terrible. Yeah. No.

Scott

I mean, I do know that I was listening to some people kinda talk about it. We're not as physical therapists, I mean, I think we can appreciate this. The dynamic mobility needed in a soccer game is a lot different than having pads on and going directional in football. I mean, that's 2 different movements

Joe

Right. Totally.

Scott

A surface. And those guys weigh less. You're not £300 trying to sink into the ground. You're trying to just move as a soccer player. Right. So that I mean, that sucked. Now, again, not making excuses, but everyone was slipping and sliding. Yep. I just thought it diminished the product a little bit.

Joe

Oh, yeah. Totally. Yes. I agree. But Good take. That was a hot take, if I

Scott

ever heard of it. Take. Yeah. It's a hot take. But we'll get right into it too. I mean, the I kinda jinxed it. I I felt like I don't know if I told you this, but with, like, a minute left in the game, I've we had some friends over for the game. And I said, this is probably one of the first Packer losses in my lifetime that I'm like, okay. Fine. A lot of good things to build upon. And then not 2 seconds later, Jordan Love got hurt.

Joe

I spoke too soon. Fault.

Scott

Yeah. 100%. I'll take blame for this. This is a big one. MCL sprain.

Joe

Yeah. Very unfortunate. Yeah. I mean, that was my, initial, thought when I when I saw it. It was like, oh, he maybe, you know, sprained or tore his MCL. And then when I got home and, I started seeing some of the more close-up things on x and, slow motion. And boy, he had, like, a classic. Right? Pivot shift. I mean, just like Yeah.

Textbook, which that's where just the for, that's where the femur slides forward on the shin bone, basically. And if if any of you wanna I'm sure you can find it. It's it's very noticeable. And I then I was worried towards ACL, because that's just the classic it's like the classic injury.

Scott

Yeah. And for a playing surface like that and just how it happened, I mean, that would be a textbook thing to Right. Unfortunately happen.

Joe

So do you think that he, the defensive player should have been penalized?

Scott

No. Because I think they all do that.

Joe

What about the no forcible contact to the lower extremity for quarter the Brady rule that

Scott

you will? I mean, I think what's really hard in the NFL and they'll never admit to this. And I don't think referees will admit to this ever, but I think a subconscious kind of bias that they have. It's so subjective on how they protect the quarterback, and they pick and choose when they enforce that. Like, I'm not a Bears fan, but I will side with Bears fans on this.

Joe

I'm sorry. It sounded like you're you said you're gonna side with Bears fans from where I'm sitting.

Scott

Let me Oh. Yeah. Okay. Let me finish.

Joe

That's what you

Scott

said. Justin Fields last year would get rocked all the time and never get a penalty. Yeah. If Mahomes if that happened to Mahomes and it happened in Green Bay.

Joe

Yeah. Oh,

Scott

yeah. When Owens lit him up, they throw the flag on it. It's they're just not consistent with protecting the quarterback.

Joe

Yeah. And the the classic one, and I'm not a fan of this guy, but, Carolina's, Newton? Yeah. Cam Newton. Thank you. Cam Newton. They would he would just get rocked. Yeah. I mean, and they wouldn't because he was so big. It was like they're like, oh, he can take it.

Scott

Yeah. That's the one thing I think about the court the some of the rules that especially with the quarterback and, you know, whether you can hit him or not and what you can do to him. I mean, they're just not consistent with it. And if they were based on their verbiage, quote unquote, I think that should have been a penalty.

Joe

Yeah. No. That I have a I have a friend that's, was just adamant that that should have been a a penalty. And I was kind of like I mean, he's wrapping them up. And to me, it was more borderline, and he felt it was very, black and white, very clear that that should have been a penalty. So I wanted to get your expert opinion.

Scott

I mean, I just I I I do think the NFL favors certain guys over the other. Yeah. But now it doesn't matter because Dak is the highest quarterback or, excuse me, highest paid quarterback in the league now after he got his extension.

Joe

Yeah.

Scott

But you would think if you're gonna call a penalty on anybody, you're gonna try and protect your golden boy who would be Jordan Love because he's your highest paid player highest paid product on the field. Right. You know, just a and it wouldn't have mattered, but it wouldn't, like, it wouldn't take his injury away. It'd still be heard.

Joe

Yeah. It made me one of the cam or not cam. With the Dak Prescott, contract, I thought, boy, what a great deal we got for Jordan.

Scott

Yeah. I mean, I I still think Jordan played well.

Joe

Yeah. No. He did. I I agree. Just I don't I I don't think I think if you met me had me pick between the two guys, I'm gonna take Jordan Love all day even Over time. Yeah.

Scott

Yeah. Yeah. I would agree.

Joe

So the fact that he got him for $5,000,000 less a year or whatever it is, I'm like, oh, what, you know, what a deal.

Scott

And I I mean, I have my very limited knowledge of playing quarterback. Jordan slipping and sliding, your platform is your most important thing. So a couple of his misfires, I think, was

Joe

Yeah.

Scott

Up slipping and sliding on the playing surface.

Joe

I the interception too, they said was, the tight end. I forget who he was throwing to, but, has to they, get in front of the face of the Yeah. Of the safety.

Scott

Yeah.

Joe

He didn't even went behind him Yeah. Instead of in front of him. And so that's that interception that's where I don't think everybody thinks always through an interception. And it's, you know, the quarterback's fault, and it it it necessarily always isn't.

Scott

No. Not at all. And, again, I didn't think, you know, receiving wise, they're just a young team that's probably gonna make some mistakes. Yep. But they should evolve. I mean, Jaden Reed had one of the highest ratings of any receiver.

Joe

Did you see he's on track for for the first however many games of career? He's doing better than Tyreek Hill then. Yeah. Like, they're seeing to see the next Tyreek Hill.

Scott

He's a stud. I love him.

Joe

Hopefully, he's not getting arrested for reckless driving, on the way to the game, though. But,

Scott

yeah. That's a nightmare on that one too.

Joe

Anyways, but no. I so, yeah, there were, I think, lots of like you said, I think there were a ton of positive things. I think all the mistakes they made are just very correctable. And they they played one of the top teams in the NFC.

Scott

We'll see them again down the road.

Joe

Yeah. So I I I'm I'm I mean, it's funny, like, coming to work on Monday, or I was listening to some sports talk on Saturday, driving around and running some errands. And, like, the number of people were, like, after the one game that the sky is falling. Yeah. It's like you know? And I get if he had blown his ACL, I get that. But he didn't. And he'll be fine. And he'll be back. And, again, the defense will be better. I like how aggressive they were through turnovers. Loved it. It's fine.

Scott

Just yeah. They the the defense scheme, in my opinion, and you and I have talked about this, I think, off, recording and while we were recording, Pressure creates mistakes.

Joe

Right.

Scott

And Jade, excuse me. Jalen Hurts, I think, made some mistakes because he had some pressure in his face. Right. Now are we gonna give up some big plays? Probably.

Joe

Right. But I'll live the turnovers

Scott

are game changers. But the aggressiveness, who's our

Joe

2nd leading tack tackler? Bullard. Oh, do you see him rock,

Scott

Brown? Yeah. Smoked him.

Joe

And, like, Brown outweighed him by, I mean, almost £25. Yeah. Bigger. And he just yeah.

Scott

He's a beautiful. He's a head hunter.

Joe

Yeah. I like him a lot.

Scott

I mean, I like all the upgrades. I mean, the kidney's gonna be fine.

Joe

Right. Yeah. No. I

Scott

Jair is Jair at the the, interception where he's messing around in the end zone? I'm like, if he takes it back because he's messing around and then just takes off, it's a total Jair thing to do.

Joe

Yes. I like he's he's he's fast becoming one of my favorite Packers. He's just so aloof that I just kind of it makes me laugh. So

Scott

The problem with him, though, I think he's one of those guys that type of personality, if you're doing well, you love it. And if you start struggling, it's gonna be toxic. Yeah. Without knowing anything that goes on in the locker room, there's things we see outside. Like, sometimes Like last year? Yeah. Yeah. Going out for the coin flip because

Joe

you know you weren't one of the captains. That kind of stuff. Yeah. I mean, that stuff can become

Scott

a huge distraction potentially, but when he's playing like that, I think that's totally fine. Yeah. You're spot on with the Jordan Love thing, though. I thought for sure it was a distal tip fracture based on his reaction and how he got tied up.

Joe

Yeah. What the do you follow that MD, the I do now. Yeah. He's yeah. He's really good. So he had a high ankle sprain.

Scott

That was my second guess. Yeah. Which those are not No. Grades. No. So I think I prefer a MCL sprain, actually.

Joe

Yeah. Grade 1 MCL sprain would be

Scott

And then once he came off the plan, did you see that video?

Joe

Yeah.

Scott

That's what I'm like, yeah. That's MCL based on how he's coming down. Yeah. So even for him this is what's crazy to me about the NFL. You're the top league of football in the in in the world. They finish a game. He's hurt. They get right on a plane and come home. Like, you just got hurt. Right. I'm sure you're doing some rehab, quote unquote, on the plane, but

Joe

I bet.

Scott

Hey. Go sit on this plane for 11

Joe

hours. Yeah. Again, another reason I don't I mean, Roger Goodell keeps talking about wanting to have a team in England. Like, who's asking for that?

Scott

England. Do you do you think so, really? I'm sure. I mean, they have really good turnout for the London games.

Joe

But that's because there's

Scott

One couple years.

Joe

Couple years. So right? So, like

Scott

Did they used to have an NFL Europa? They did. And it was, like, a minor league thing?

Joe

Kind of.

Scott

I just remember as a kid, it was always a part of Madden, but I never, like, saw those games on TV.

Joe

Yeah. It was like a semi pro in Europe. There's maybe, like, 8 teams. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. And and I don't think maybe some of the

Scott

they were affiliated with the team.

Joe

I'm not sure about that. I can't remember exactly. But they you know? Yeah. I I don't know who's asking for that. I don't know again, it's they just I just Roger Goodell, I'm not a huge fan of, but I don't blame you. That matters.

Scott

So let's talk about

Joe

what's his rehab like? Yeah. Jordan loves rehab. I mean Class 4 laser.

Scott

I'm sure they're doing the laser treatment.

Joe

Get rid of the inflammation.

Scott

I'd be I'd love to see just their tools that they use, like their passive, modalities because I do think they have their place. I'm sure he's running on the underground pool Yeah. Would be my guess. Or they

Joe

probably have one of those on waiting treadmills as well?

Scott

Where the Yeah. The waste anti gravity ones? I mean, it definitely was a good sign right off the bat that, he walked off under his own pressure. And then on sidelines, he really didn't have any attention to him, which was a good sign. Right. Probably some dry needling, do you think? Maybe. Maybe dry needle that could you dry needle that ligament? You you're an expert at dry needling.

Joe

Yeah. You I mean, you can. I I I don't know if that would be my course of action. Like, more, like, if you dry

Scott

needling a tendon density.

Joe

If you for me, dry needling a a tendon like that or a ligament, would be something a little bit more chronic to promote some of the blood flow. I don't know if I would do that Probably not gonna shockwave it. Acute acutely. No. I you wanna get the inflammation. I'm not gonna shock

Scott

wave it.

Joe

Acute acutely. No. I you wanna get the inflammation. It's not chronic. It's acute injury. So, no. I'd be lasering, all the time just to try to promote that. And then That's

Scott

his left knee. So I wouldn't be shocked if potentially might play with a, a big brace to lock that knee from the medial lateral component Right. To have some more stability. I wouldn't be shocked. Actually, personally, I think all quarterbacks that are right handed throwers should have their left knee in a brace. You don't agree with that?

Joe

No. I don't. I'm just thinking about it.

Scott

Like just like a hot take. Boy, that's too Hot take. 2 for 2. Wisconsin did it for a while.

Joe

I know all our offensive linemen have it.

Scott

All their offensive linemen for a while. Their quarterbacks did it. Now they don't do it. But I mean, I think it's probably working a lot of single leg stability, proprioception, balance. I mean, I've never been in a, you know, professional setting. Have you ever done a professional setting for PT?

Joe

No. We have Other than freedom physical therapy, this is Or I

Scott

should say, like, sports team type stuff? No. I mean, I'd be generally curious, like, how aggressive because there's there's different, like, pressure on the therapist and the athlete. Like, yes, you need to do your job and there's healing that you can't rush science. Right? Right. Yeah. But there's a lot of pressure to get them back as soon as possible. Like, how aggressive can they be?

Joe

Yeah. No. I What if

Scott

he gets too, you know, too sore? You go too fast? How do you kinda pull back? I think some of that stuff's interesting.

Joe

I mean, when I first started practicing when, Pepper Burris was the, head trainer for the Packers. He's a PT as well. So we would have some of our, WPTA meetings for the Northeastern Wisconsin. He would host them at at Lambeau Field.

Scott

So then

Joe

you got to tour the kinda tour the training room, the weight room. He would do like a actual this is how old it was. He did an actual slide presentation. Wow. Not PowerPoint. Slide presentation. Wow.

Scott

I don't even know what that is.

Joe

Yeah. I'll tell you off off mic what what those slide presentations are. Think of a PowerPoint, but with a actual slide. Is

Scott

that like a transparency? Like an overhead?

Joe

It's like a picture of tiny little picture on, like, a 1 by 1 thing, and then the light would shine it up on the screen. Oh, man. Yeah.

Scott

I think you probably can't even find those anymore. Archaic.

Joe

Yeah. Yeah. In a museum. So we got to see the facility, which was cool and whatever. I mean, but that's as close as I've come to

Scott

That was in the nineties?

Joe

Yeah. It would've been about 95. I mean,

Scott

I think I'd be curious too to see how much that stuff has just changed. Especially for you, you've already been there. Like, just to do a compare and contrast in 30 years, just

Joe

Yeah.

Scott

All the tools they have at their expense now.

Joe

Yeah. And like, I remember they had, like, like, like, 5 gallon, like, tubs or jugs of, like, Ibuprofen, naproxen, Tylenol, like like like, you know, like, you'd get, like, a big, big thing of mayonnaise in,

Scott

like, a huge thing. Like, one of those,

Joe

like, the bulk the bulk thing. They would have those of just, like, anti like, yeah, just with the anti inflamm you know?

Scott

I mean, I'm sure he's pawning that stuff. I mean, would you do you think those guys get injections right away too? I don't know.

Joe

Like, would you do, like, a PRP or I don't I mean, maybe some that's platelet rich plasma. So they draw out your blood. They spin it down. They get all the the the, platelets, and then they all inject those, and that's supposed to help promote healing. Yeah. I wouldn't be surprised if they did that.

Scott

I mean, from our perspective, I don't know if you and I have talked about this or our opinions on PRP. I feel like as a PT, sometimes we get, like, biased samples of patients. Because if it works, you're probably not gonna come back and see us. Right.

Joe

Yeah. Right.

Scott

So I I feel like I don't know enough about it to know, you know.

Joe

That's how I was also with the hyaluronic acid kind of injections. I asked the orthopedist once, doctor Vetter, at the, medical college because I said that we were talking about that at a sports medicine symposium. I'm like, do those work? Because, like, all the people I see Yeah. They don't seem to work.

And she's like, well, that's they're being sent to therapy because it didn't work. So yeah. No. I don't certainly not gonna hurt them. You're just injecting your own platelets back into an injured area.

Scott

Yeah. If

Joe

it helps speed things up by a couple of days, great.

Scott

I mean, I think he'll be back by Minnesota, which is week 5.

Joe

Oh, I think he's gonna I think he's gonna be back in week 3.

Scott

You think so?

Joe

That's my prediction, which I've been you know, I'm 0 for 1 so far, so don't

Scott

know. It'll be interesting. I mean, I I I don't know if

Joe

LaFleur is just it's just his gamesmanship with this. Like, he's not he's not on the you know, we'll find out tomorrow with the

Scott

The true injury

Joe

report. Injury report. But, like, I I don't know if it's just gamesmanship so that, you know, the Colts gotta prepare for him or not. But, like, LaFleur just seems to think that he's doing very well. And

Scott

Yeah. I mean and it could be just one of those things, you know, in the moment. Right? You probably could've felt that pivot shift and been like, oh, no. This is bad. Right. And then your reaction is based on what that was. Right. Once you calm down, adrenaline goes down, you're like, alright.

Joe

Alright. I'm fine.

Scott

I'm fine. Yeah. Get back to it.

Joe

Yeah. So I think he's only gonna miss next week. And I think, I think Green Bay should win this game.

Scott

I think so too. I mean,

Joe

the 3 3 and a half point underdogs. At home, dog.

Scott

Opening opening What are you gonna do? What do you think? I'll be in Vegas. I'll be in Vegas.

Joe

What do

Scott

you think I'm gonna do? Packers money line, especially because there's value to

Joe

it. Yeah.

Scott

Plus money versus negative money on the spread. 3a half, that's a pick them. Because you get 3 points automatically

Joe

in the NFL. Field.

Scott

So pick them. Yeah. Packers money line right away. But to me, I think this is also potentially not that you want someone to get hurt. This allows for this team to really show what they have outside of Georgia. Right.

Joe

I mean, they still got all this the wide receiver talent and the tight end talent and Josh Jacobs and the Colts have a bad run defense. And so, I think at home, they're you know, the the defense, should play a little bit better. They'll have better you know, you'll have a game in. So hopefully, your game conditioning is better. So Are you going? No. My brother's, taking all 4 of the tickets, so he can go with some buddies.

Scott

So even think of that. Yeah. Scottie's got tickets. Mhmm.

Joe

Very, very lucky.

Scott

Yeah. I mean, I we'll see what happens. I mean, I think they're gonna win. It's a good opportunity. I think the whole home opener is always fun.

Joe

It's my favorite game to go to.

Scott

I went last year against the Saints. It was a blast. And they came back and won that game after playing terrible. But, I mean, I think they'll be fine.

Joe

Yeah. No. I like this game because they, they have all the alumni, Packer alumni come back. Oh, yeah. That's true. At halftime. So it's awesome.

Scott

Gonna be in town? Roger's gonna be there? Aaron gonna be there? Aaron gonna

Joe

be there?

Scott

Aaron gonna take something off of them.

Joe

Yeah. I think he's got a game on Sunday. I think the Jets are playing, at Nashville or something, so maybe not.

Scott

He's got a prior commitment.

Joe

I don't know if far far I don't think ever at least any of the games that I've been to hasn't been there for the alumni game. But, like, the for me, like, when they they kinda introduce the players by decade.

Scott

Yeah.

Joe

So I think Jerry Kramer might be one of the only ones alive from the Lombardi era.

Scott

And, the other linemen, the African American. Willie Davis? No. I wanna say his last name's Robinson.

Joe

Oh, yeah. Sure.

Scott

Yep. Steve. He was a Lombardi. He was a Lombardi

Joe

first. Yep.

Scott

Feel like he was there last year.

Joe

Yep. That could be

Scott

Him and Kramer were next or he was maybe pushing Jerry in his wheelchair. Yep. And then seventies guys, eighties guys.

Joe

Yep. That's so the seventies, eighties guys, the eighties guys in particular, that's right in my heyday. Does anybody care about those guys? Lynn Dickey. Fine. Paul Kaufman. Randy Wright? Randy Wright. Correct.

Scott

The Magic Man?

Joe

That's 9 it's late eighties. That's late eighties. I was 89. Those are my yeah. No. Johnny Gray, Steve Luke, Ezra Jones Ezra Johnson. Excuse me. No. I'm not hitting you with any of these. No. Greg Cook, he's always there.

Scott

No. Give me 2,000 and present. I'm I'm I'm golden.

Joe

So the eighties, I like the nineties. Obviously, that's when Favre got there and they started having some success. So, like, Don BB. You know? So it's just a little memory. It's just a little trip down memory lane, which is always fun. So I like to go to that game. But

Scott

I agree with you there. Sometimes it's nice to go down memory lane a little bit. Mhmm. Especially now that I'm getting older. I mean, 20 years ago. You can

Joe

talk to me in 25 years.

Scott

I I just saw a highlight looking back on Packer stuff, highlight of the, post Farrv's dad passing away game against Oakland. Yeah. It's 20 years ago. Over 20 years ago.

Joe

No. It's yeah.

Scott

It's Christmas. I'm getting old. Do you remember that? Yeah. That was the was that the same year that, Al Harris picked off Hasselback in the playoffs?

Joe

You're right. Yes.

Scott

I think that Oakland game was the first game I ever remembered as a as a

Joe

child. Yeah.

Scott

Now I could look back at some other games and be like, okay. I remember that. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Like, I don't remember the I think we talked about this last year. One time you've seen Lambo boo was the playoff game against Vick.

Joe

Yes.

Scott

I don't remember that. I was just a little boy. Yep. Then we got Oakland, and then they lost 4th and 26 Yep. To the Eagles. Yep. I remember that one.

Joe

Nick Barnett didn't he he came up on the play action for whatever reason instead of just sprinting back and getting

Scott

Packer Nick Barnett, Super Bowl champion. Well, he's on the Super Bowl roster.

Joe

Might have been. I don't think he's I don't know if he was injured, though. He might have been injured in Super Bowl. Yeah. Good stuff. Good memories.

Scott

Should be good. So Scotty and I both are predicting we'll get back to the actual podcast here. Both predicting a win for Green Bay on Sunday. Yeah?

Joe

Correct. 27/20. Who did? Check that. 27/23 because I got 0 in the office pool. So 27/23. I got 5. That's okay. 24/21.

Scott

Do you, because I'll be in Vegas, and I do sometimes like to partake in some Vegas type of Venetian.

Joe

You're you're you you can just tell the folks. You're a degenerate gambler.

Scott

I also like putting some, stuff on, touchdown scores. So I like to parlay winners with anybody to score a touchdown.

Joe

Oh, alright.

Scott

Do you have any Who's gonna score touchdowns for the Packers?

Joe

Oh, I would take Josh Jacobs for sure is gonna score.

Scott

Josh Jacobs. I'm also thinking Reid or Wicks.

Joe

Wicks is my fault. Gonna run some end arounds with him, because they're obviously I think Indianapolis will try to crowd the line of scrimmage showing that we wanna pay a run around the ball with Jacobs. So we're gonna crowd the line of scrimmage. The end of rounds will be there. So I would take if you're gonna parlay, I would take, Josh Jacobs and Reed

Scott

And Reed?

Joe

With the money line. There you go. Oh, they're gonna

Scott

Let's just we're just gonna see live what this is gonna get us. But in Vegas, I'm gonna get a physical ticket for this.

Joe

Okay.

Scott

I can't I'm not gonna do it on an app.

Joe

Right. You

Scott

can then because we're spending the whole day in the book on Sunday.

Joe

Do you have a table reserved already? Yeah. Who are you going with?

Scott

My brother-in-law and father-in-law. It's gonna be a blast. I've never been to Vegas before.

Joe

Oh, nice. Never been at the Venetian?

Scott

Yeah. And there's a UFC fight in the sphere that's connected to the Venetian.

Joe

Wow.

Scott

But we're not going to that. So touchdown scores aren't up yet, but I'll get back to you. Okay. Thanks. Yeah. Thank you. And, when it hits, we're gonna party.

Joe

Yeah. Big

Scott

time. Alright, everybody. Thanks for another episode. This week's episode, hot takes number 2. We'll see everybody in next week's episode after a Packers win. Actually, 2 weeks. We'll be back in 2 weeks hopefully after 2 wins.
