Episode description

Why is it so important to have your voice heard as a young person? February marks Children's Mental Health Week, with this years topic being "My Voice Matters". Sophie from HOPELINE247, Lucy Oliver from Merseyside Youth Association and Siobhan Keating, a young person's advocate, all discuss the importance of encouraging young people to speak up and find the power in their own voice.

In light of a new video campaign between PAPYRUS, MYA, YPAS and CAMHS, this episode also discusses safety planning, a collaborative tool between a young person who is struggling with thoughts of suicide and a trained suicide prevention adviser, describing what one is and how it works.

HOPELINE247 is here to support anyone under 35 who is struggling with thoughts of suicide. Trained advisers are here for you all day every day by calling 0800 068 4141, texting 07860 039 967 or emailing pat@papyrus-uk.org.
