¶ Materia Medical Monday
Welcome back to Homeopathy at Home with Melissa . I'm Bri , hi Melissa , hi Bri . Today we're continuing our Materia Medical Monday series And while we're recording today we are going to be taking maybe some questions that pop up . We're doing this live stream on Facebook for our students So you'll get easy early access to this And we'll maybe answer some as we go .
But for you podcast listeners , we're back to our Materia Medical Monday . So , this makes sense to you . We're recording on a Tuesday , which sounds weird , but we are doing the remedy cost to come tonight .
Before we jump into our remedy , i want to say I have t-shirts And you have one , so I have this one . On This says praise the Lord for Homeopathy . This one would be a full color . I'm not selling it on my store because it is quite expensive , because it's full color , but I have the black and white version .
Is it really soft , like when you hear your looks nice .
It's very soft . I love it . These are really soft , and so that's the black one Praise the Lord for Homeopathy . And then I have the navy one That says homeopathy is true health , and it's got the flower in the middle . I have more . I have another one coming . Oh , i have one that says Jesus and homeopathy . Okay , so we'll show those at another time .
Also , don't forget about my mugs , oh , but look , be blessed , be whole , be healthy , be love . Get your coffee mug . It's on my store And it's just got my logo on there So you can remember to call me when you need me .
And that's Melissa's . That's your signature , that's what your emails say . You say that a lot , so that's right . That is unique to you .
I love that .
I'm going to be getting one because I drink coffee or tea And I think my email is a little bit different from the one I use to make coffee .
When we do this all the time . So I'll be wrapping all of the merch Good point that this is my thing , This is my this is what I end my emails with .
That's my thing . Okay , we have a couple more watching , hi .
Shelley , hi Michelle , hey friends , love you all . Love you all , glad you're here . We try to keep the podcast fairly short So we're not gonna turn it into a whole big long Q&A , but if you have a few questions we might be able to answer and we'll go for it . So tonight we're doing Costa Com , and when I think of Costa Com I think of Burns .
That's my number one . Actually , sorry , cantoris is really what I like to do for my number one , for Burns , but Costa Com has Burns , like your third degree Burns , and it's got rawness , paralysis of muscles .
So I've been hearing about that a lot lately , where there are things that's going around Mm-hmm , not that a lot of people are getting it , but I have been hearing it lately . So think of Costa Com , shortening of the tendons .
So to me that would mean tight Yeah , which the next one of the other keynotes was constriction .
Constriction right .
So yeah , tight , That's right I wonder if you sorry to interrupt you . I'm thinking of on to , if you have , if you know elderly people like atrophy when they're , when they're stuck in positions that don't move a lot . Or maybe consider after a broken bone , if you've been in a sling or something for a long time . Yes , yeah , back out .
Yeah , that's good Good points Can't bear to look at the news . I'm not going to take calls to come because I don't want to look at the news , but I'm being silly , this is like it . This reminds me of my grandmother and her last few years .
She had Alzheimer's and she would get so upset over the news because she had Alzheimer's and she was kind of , you know , thinking that everything was happening right here , you know , on her . So I'm sure there's other other times when people maybe can't bear to look at the news , but really it's because they cannot stand injustice .
And just necessarily they're overwhelmed by all the sad things happening .
That's right .
It's just there , like they're angry at injustice . Yeah , okay .
Yeah , like I can't even watch this because of all the terrible things that are going on in the world . So , friends , remember who is in charge of it all , who is our savior . Look to him , right , we don't have to . It's just to be getting darker . Yeah , it's getting darker in our world . It's getting darker and darker and that's it's .
you know we're in times . So you know , look to him and trust him and believe him , and the cost to come . now you know we're talking a lot about chronic things here . So they're very sympathetic And I feel that if someone else is upset , i was going to say very empathetic . so that to me is empathy .
so when you're , when you're , empathetic , so sympathetic , oh , i feel so sorry for her . empathetic is , i feel it . I feel that when you , i feel what you feel , i get upset . when you get upset , they feel other people's pain , they're really caring and they suffer because of it .
And I think that's why I stopped watching the news . I know cost to come does get angry , but maybe it starts , yeah , with that , that burdened feeling .
That's right . Yeah , you watch the news and you get Yes , gosh . I think that this is so funny . That's why I stopped watching the news A long time ago . I was with 911 after . Even before that I hated to watch it . It really bothered me . But then after that I was like I just can't and I really quit watching the news because of all the injustice .
It just drove me crazy . It's a great grief remedy . So we often think of that mirror and Ignatia for grief . Add this one to your list . You might think of cost to come , but then you start to toughen up a bit and get a bit a bit fixed and rigid . So they , they take up causes .
They start , you know they become the animal rights activists , but they can go a bit too far with it . Right , we need to protect animal rights , but also don't forget about the unborn . But don't but not with animal rights . Like , sometimes we can go just too far with it , right , we can just become like it can be like a terrorist remedy .
Where you go so far , They take it And it . I think it's like a lot of things in life . here I'm getting off philosophical off on a tangent , but a lot of things can start from a good place . like you watch the news , you feel empathetic .
Well , that's a heavy thing to carry And instead of bringing it to the Lord or processing it in a healthy way , It turns to anger and then it turns to I need a solution . so I'm going to go fight all the fights you know , and then you can become really dogmatic and really intense , but not truly bringing much solution .
You're just finding an outlet , maybe for those things .
Yeah , that's really good , good points . Yep , i would just . So they can be . I know you , just I was like , well , that was good . So they can be deeply angry , resentful , and I'm resentful down , down , deep .
OK , you know we usually don't do this , but really I'm just thinking , when there's anger in your life , when you're , when you're carrying anger and you don't have the The wisdom or the knowledge or the ability to talk about that right And deal with it appropriately , you stuff it . Anger and offense usually they go hand in hand .
I mean , when you're angry , you're offended , right . So Offense , when it's not properly handled , can grow deep roots of bitterness .
And man , when bitterness takes root in your heart , so tough and non impossible non impossible but a tough thing to uproot , and I know he's uproot a lot in homeopathy And you know that's what cost to come looks like that is very angry and resentful . But so , yeah , you might consider this remedy . But also , forgiveness is the key .
Forgiveness is the key to That anger and that that offense . We have to , we , when we forgive quickly , We're , you're the one that set free when you forgive quickly . And so when you notice that you're carrying anything like offense or anger , you need to think about . Ask the Lord OK , what is this ?
Help me see this , give me some wisdom and help me to forgive . And , you know , let him show you the way . So it doesn't start off like that . But it's where it goes . So you know , you start with anger or offense and then you , it moves into again , it grows deep roots of bitterness . So it shares similar symptoms to phosphorus .
It looks kind of like phosphorus that they have the fear of the dark , fear being alone . They're very sympathetic , like phosphorus Again . Muscle contractions , tendons , paralysis . It's a big remedy for paralysis . Cost to come is And paralysis from overexertion , from working too hard , from looking after other people .
So you know , after you've had a grief or an injustice , something like that happened in your life and then you a paralysis comes or anything .
Headaches start to come , you lose sleep , you know you stop sleeping well , you start getting sick a lot If , if you have a condition as a result of a grief or an injustice , you might consider cost to come to uproot that . And then they are mentally , they have mentally immovable points of view . So they weep easily .
They weep from sympathy with other people , lots of muscle spasms . I know I'm kind of jumping around a bit here , but I'm just kind of going through the notes . Do you want to go through the second page , brie ?
Yeah , it kind of shifts gears a little bit too to some other things , not as much mental , these are , or causticum can be good for things that affect urinary organs and the bladder , which could go with muscle spasms .
Yeah , as mentioned , involuntary urination and continence and the elderly , especially when the sphincters are weak , and that connects to the paralysis , the muscle paralysis .
Yeah , that's interesting that , and this is totally homeopathy , so I don't know why this seems so interesting to me , but it's for muscle paralysis , which is loose and weak and the tight to constricted tendons , right , yeah , so that always is baffling to me .
This is such a great point . I just want to talk about that for a minute . Such a great point ? Yeah , So very often . And it's hard to get to change our mindset when we start using homeopathy , because in allopathy we're taking a medicine for the paralysis , We're taking a different medicine for the constriction , And homeopathy it's bringing homeostasis .
So whether there's too much or too little And that's not just in this , but in everything in homeopathy- Mucus , warts , whatever , And bleeding like Arnica working to thicken your blood if that's what it needs , or thinn it if that's what it needs , That's right . It's homeostasis . You always say that .
That's right .
And yeah , that's just thought that was good And I'm getting that as I'm reading it .
¶ Exploring the Benefits of Costicum Remedy
It's obvious that it can be opposing symptoms but treated with the same remedy . So right after incontinence we have constant urging and dribbling and prostate problems . So that's an interesting section because I don't know if we talk about that a lot when it comes to like UTIs or somebody had surgery recently and she was having bladder spasms .
I wonder if that's stuff like that to think about . It can also be good like phosphorus for horse voices , especially in the morning Man , i need that , maybe I'll see you just sleep more . Or people who lose their voice easily . I think that's so cute when little kids and people have .
I know I sound all rassy , i know .
Costicum is also good for warts , especially around the fingers and nails , or warts on the end of the nose . That just like . That's so specific I love . Yeah , so interesting . And if you look up words , there are many specific keynotes for lots of remedies . It's pretty bizarre . Yep , it's great .
Costicum is great for drooping eyelids , restless legs , especially at night , aggravated by cold , raw winds . And there's that raw word again . So Ross is to be popping up again .
Yeah .
Worse at three to four am And it's good for Bell's palsy , especially when the right side of the face is paralyzed .
So earlier when I said paralysis and I've been seeing a lot of that after you know , with this thing that's going around , i'm seeing Bell's palsy more often than I ever had before . Years ago I'd never even seen a person with it And now I'm seeing it .
Have you used costicum for it at all .
Honestly , i don't remember .
Yeah , i would be curious . I don't know what's the first one I would think of , but sounds like it could be a good one . So it can be good for MS . Yes , i love it , which is huge . I know many people living with MS with almost hopeless . There's not many options for people with MS .
I remember a friend years ago , and that was probably 10 or 12 years ago . He was saying that his sister had , uh-oh , you froze . Was that frozen You ?
were frozen for a second , but you hear okay .
Did you ? did I need to repeat what I said ?
No , i think we heard the story That was she needed wipes for the baby . So That's a relief .
yeah , Was it her Keep it . No , I heard you said you had a friend . Yeah , who ? whose sister had MS and I told him homeopathy can help . They just didn't believe it . The doctor said there's no hope . So they just they didn't even try anything . It is super sound .
The Cossackum person may have a desire for smoked foods , smoked meat and salty things , but doesn't like sweets . Interesting , yeah , that is specific , though . I mean I feel like I know a couple of people who especially smoked meat . Like my dad loves smoked meat and sweets . He likes them , but they're not his .
If you were to crave something , it would absolutely be smoked meat .
Yeah , paul has a smoker . He's smoking meat every single weekend and I'm like every single weekend we get smoked meat Like it's good right . But it is good , not good for you .
No , it's a lot of meat And I'll kind of all eventually taste the same And I know maybe people listening are gonna be mad . I just said that .
Well , it's the charcoal , So the fumes from the charcoal gets into your food , and so it's really not good for us to be eating charcoal food . but I'm not gonna .
Well , okay , that's just . there's a rabbit trail smoker , right ? Well , we'll talk about that later because I have more questions now . So just some last minute or at the end . Keynotes are craved . smoked foods are angry at injustice . Can be really upset and paralysis , yeah , of any kind . So that's costicum .
It's a costicum . Do we have any questions about costicum ?
We don't have any questions that I can see about costicum . I know I'm a little bit behind Facebook . It's a little bit behind what we're saying .
Okay .
So we can give it a second .
