Rev. J.J West- “We have a devil to deal with”

Greetings everyone . This is Brother David Webb from Hodgenville , kentucky . Thank you for listening to Holiness Preaching Online . We want to present to you today a great sermon from another great preacher .

Come with a burden , I want to try to help us and I just feel like we're right where the Lord wants us tonight . And I just feel like we're right where the Lord wants us tonight . But I am glad that y'all do have something here tonight that I did not have last night at our church , because y'all have got air conditioning , amen .

And so last night our air conditioner had went out and so it was pretty warm where we was at last night . But I preached and it was , and by the time I got done I was ringing wet with sweat and so getting hot like that then out there in the night air . So it has affected my voice a little bit . But I hope you'll pray for me and help me tonight .

Like I said , I come with a burden . Brother Rusty called me yesterday and wanted to know if I would be willing to come up and preach tonight , and I told him . I said I'd be honored to and I love coming here .

I love this church , I love all you wonderful people and I like it better though , when brother Rusty's here , because I know how it is when the pastor's gone . It's not the same . But let's just loosen up .

Let's just have church , and I've heard good reports already People bragging on your pastor and what a wonderful job he did preaching this week and if God will help me , they told me about what he preached it , brother . Uh , ho comes up there and uh . So I'm probably going to borrow it myself and take it back to Millery .

But this certainly is a wonderful message . But if you got your bibles , turn with me to the book of first Peter amen , book of 1 Peter Amen . I hate to hear it but it is A little helpful , I guess , if you can say it that way .

But Chuckie said y'all been fighting the devil , and so I hate that , that y'all been fighting the devil , and so I hate that that y'all are fighting the devil . But at the same time I'm glad to know I ain't been the only one and our church has not been the only church that has been fighting the devil . It doesn't seem like the devil .

He is on his job , he is fighting . But you know why he's fighting so hard ? Because the bible says he knows he has but a short time . So if he knows we have a short but a short time and he's fighting harder , we ought to realize we have a short time and we ought to step it up a notch , our own self , in worship in the Lord . Amen .

1 Peter , chapter number 5 . Very familiar verse . You can quote it by heart , I'm sure . 1 Peter , chapter number 5 . And verse number 8 . When you have it , say amen , be sober , be vigilant , because your adversary , the devil , as a roaring lion , walketh about seeking whom he may devour One more time . Lift your hands tonight and ask the Lord to help me .

here tonight . Lord , I feel that I'm in good company here and I pray , lord , that we would feel your presence and your anointing would come by . I pray that you'd anoint me to preach the gospel . I pray that your word would go forth and do a great and mighty work in these altars tonight .

In Jesus' name , amen , I hope you'll make it easy for me and help me and pray for me tonight .

The bible tells us in uh first , samuel , uh , it said , it said , talked about an evil spirit , uh , that it came and said an evil spirit from the lord troubled saul , amen , adam and eve had their devil to deal with in the garden . Uh , jesus had to deal with the devil in the wilderness , amen . Paul said these words . He says satan have buffeted me .

Uh , everybody , everybody it in me . Uh , everybody , everybody has uh a devil that you have to deal with . Amen . But we know what is it that the devil is after and , uh , we , we know this , this is elementary to every one of us .

Uh , but the , the , the , the , the , the thing that the devil's after the most , the greatest prize in your life that he would love to have , and that is not that he wants your finances , your house , your car , your legs , your arms , your hand , amen . But what the devil would love to have of yours the most , that is your mind If he can .

Ever , yours the most , that is your mind . If he can ever , ever get a hold of your mind , amen . It's because if he can get your mind , then I've seen people that live in a beautiful home and drive a nice car and have a healthy body but yet be be bound and bitter and empty and depressed and troubled in their mind .

Turn me back up a little bit , brother . Amen . But that's what the devil is after , because I've seen a lot of folks that uh that that you know , that have had a uh .

Maybe they lost their house or they lost their finances , but I've seen people come to church and not have a dime to their name , but yet they could worship and they could shout and they could glorify God .

I've seen people in a wheelchair that didn't even have legs , but yet they would roll themselves up and down the aisle and praise and worship and magnify God . I've seen folks that didn't have but one arm , but yet they would take that one arm and they would shout and run and worship God . But the devil knows if he can ever get a hold of your mind .

Would you have an everything uh that in your life ? Amen . You will sit here on a pew with uh , even though you have a nice house to live in and you drove a nice car to church and you sit here in a healthy body .

There's nothing , uh , physically wrong with you , but yet , amen , you sit right here in this pew tonight with your mind just bound by the enemy . Amen , you have an adversary that , uh , that , that , that that's after your mind . He wants to , because if he can get a hold of that , then he has everything connected to you . All falls in place , amen .

You know , we live in a time where never have we ever seen , where it seems like people have become so crazy I mean , just listen to the news any day of the week and there seems like there is a madness that is sweeping our country . People have lost any type of reasoning . There is such a craziness that has gotten a hold of our country .

And how many times have you heard probably lately , you've heard somebody say these words I feel like I'm losing my mind , amen . How many times have you said lately , I feel like I'm losing my mind , amen . How many times have you said lately , I feel like I'm losing my mind , amen .

How many times have you heard somebody lately say I feel like I'm going crazy , amen . Well , let me ask you this how many times have you said lately I feel like I'm going crazy and that's what the devil's doing . The devil is oppressing people and I can understand the world being in the shape that they're in Amen .

But why is it that the church seems like we are just as bound as what the world is , and why does it seem like the church that we are just as oppressed and we are just as fearful and we have a battle anxiety , and we battle depression and fear and all of these things , just like the world does ? I believe in whom the sun sets free is free .

Indeed , I believe we're to have joy , unspeakable and joyful of glory

. I still believe that there is the joy of being filled with the Holy Ghost . I believe that there is still joy in salvation , amen . But the problem is is a lot of times we have allowed Satan to begin to oppress our minds ? Amen , amen . Do you realize ? The number one sickness in America today ?

It's not heart disease , it's not diabetes , it's not cancer , but the number one illness in America today is mental illness . It is 50 , 60 years ago people didn't even know what a psychiatrist was , but now a psychiatrist , that's , that's a normal thing that people see all the time , amen .

All of these mind-altering drugs and antidepressants and all these appeals of 50 , 60 years ago , was , was , was unheard of . People did amen , but now it is . It is a common drug that just about anybody you meet is on some type of antidepressant , some type of nerve pill .

But what's even sad is it's even come right in the house of God and you've got church folks that are supposed to be saved and full of the Holy Ghost , that are so bound in their minds that they have forfeited the power of God and now turn into the carnal and the beggarly elements of this world .

Trying to find something amen , to cope with the battle and the struggle that goes on in your mind . Amen . There are , as far as mental illnesses , uh , it is broken down into two different categories , amen . There is the psychotic and then there's what they call the neurotic . The psychotic , he is the type of person that , and he cannot function in society .

He can't do it . I mean , he thinks he's from another planet , he thinks lizards are crawling on the wall , he cannot reason with society . And so for the psychotic , he is pretty well needs to be put in a straitjacket and put away in an insane asylum somewhere , amen . But the neurotic is the type of person that can function somewhat in society .

The neurotic can go to work , can go to the grocery store . The neurotic can somewhat carry on a conversation with society . The neurotic can function in this world . But the problem with the neurotic is that they are afraid of the world in which they live in . They cannot fully function like they ought to Because of the battle in their mind .

They can go to work , but they're battling depression about their job . They can go to the grocery store amen . But they they have phobias and fears and anxieties and and all of these isms and skills amen . That goes on inside of their minds . That , amen , yes , they function somewhat in this world , but they don't enjoy the world that they're living in .

And I can understand the world being like the world , amen . But why is it that we have so many church folks today ? Amen , that you can come to church and you function through the service and you can go through the hymnal song right along with the singer ? Amen .

But with the battle that goes on inside of your mind , you don't have the joy that you're supposed to have . You don't have the freedom and the liberty that you one time had Amen , but all because your adversary , the devil , is trying to control your mind . Amen . Let me tell you something .

Your adversary , the devil , and I just want to preach to us as the church here tonight that you'd be surprised of the stories that people will tell you and tell the preacher Amen , amen . Of what the devil does and how that the devil tries to drive them . Amen , to do things that they normally would not do . Amen .

There's people who sing and people who play the piano , amen . But yet you'd be surprised , amen , of how that the adversary amen pushes him and drives him . Amen . And crazy thoughts that , amen , that push , and and inside of their head , amen . There's one lady she plays a piano .

I wouldn't say where or who she is , but , amen , she's a piano player in a church and and , uh , and . And she said that before that she got saved . She said for seven years . She said for seven years she slept in the barn and she would not sleep at night in her and her own house with her family . And and she said , because at night time she would .

She said there would be a . She'd wake up in the middle of the night and said there would just be such a strong urge that would come over her that she would literally tremble and her of her hands would become sweaty with this overwhelming urge to go and murder her family , amen . There's one lady lady . She sings in the choir of a church . But her testimony .

She said that she needed God to deliver her because she said there was a time when she would bathe her little babies . Amen that she finally got her mama to bathe the babies . Amen . And every night she'd call her mama and say Mama , will you come bathe the children ? And finally the grandma said what is going on ?

Why do you want me to keep bathing your children ? And finally she broke down and cried and she said there's something that comes over me . Amen , this strong urge every time I give my children a bath , this strong urge every time I give my children a bath , as something tells me to push them under the water and take my own children's life . Amen .

There's a man . He's a man , he'd been a member of a church and he said that for years he rode the bus . He would not drive his car nowhere , and I said that because there was a bridge on his way to work every day and said every time he would get to that bridge .

He said that all of a sudden there would be a strong urge that would come over him and said , all of a sudden he would begin to have to fight the steering wheel because something kept telling him and trying to get him to just turn the wheel of his car and run his car off the road . Amen .

You say , well , that's a lot of , that's just pure crazy , preacher , amen . But you know , amen . Maybe you don't have that desire to run your car off the road and maybe there's not a desire for somebody here to amen to take the life of your own children , amen .

But how many times have we seen church folks that it seemed like for no reason , no apparent reason , begin to all of a sudden , you begin to fight the man of god and you begin to amen , fight against the church and you begin to fight against this sister and that sister and , and no , you would not probably commit suicide and take your own life .

But how many

times have we seen folks that committed suicide , spiritually , even because something came over them ? Hey , but I know the preacher loves me , but I don't know why I get so angry at the preacher like I do .

I know the church is just trying to help me and I know they're just trying to love me , but I don't know what it is that comes over me that makes me want to withdraw myself away from the church . I don't know what it is that makes me paranoid about this sister in the church . Amen . You start feeling like everybody's against you , amen .

Every time two sisters get together and start talking , all of a sudden something , a paranoia . A paranoia comes over you and your mind begins to race away and you say I know they're talking about me , I know they're running me down , amen . No , they're probably just planning dinner for some , a sunday , amen .

But those spirits are trying to get a hold of your mind . Amen . The preacher just got up here and preached a little sermon , amen . But all of a sudden , amen . You're sitting there saying I know he threw that at me , he don't like me , he don't love me , I know he's against my family , amen . You know what the devil's trying to do , amen .

It's a spirit that's trying to get a hold of your mind . It's your adversary , the devil . He's not after your finances , he's not after your car . He's trying to get a hold of your mind because , if he can ever get a hold of your mind . Amen .

There ain't a preacher in this world , amen , that's going to try to reason any kind of sense into your head here tonight . Amen , you need God . Amen , to touch you and heal you . You need a breakthrough . Amen , not just in your hands , but somebody needs a breakthrough . Amen , right inside of your mind . I feel the Holy Ghost here tonight .

Amen , you got to understand . Amen , it's your Adversary . Amen , what I deal with , amen , the devil that I have to deal with May not be the devil that you deal with . And the devil you deal with May not be the devil that brother Chucky deals with . You all got your devil that you have to deal with . Amen . There's a brother was telling me one time .

He said , and he's a good brother , but he said driving up interstate 65 . Now , now , I'm the type person . Gambling does not bother me . I have no desire whatsoever in this world to put my money in a machine that I know I ain't got but a 33% chance of getting it back . Amen , I won't even put my money in a Coke machine if I'm not sure .

Amen , I'm not going to get a drink out of the deal . Amen , I'm just not that type of person . But this brother said every time I go by wind creek casino , he said . He said when I start seeing the neon lights of that building . He says my heart feels like it's about to pound out of my chest , he said . He said cold sweats begin to run down there .

He said my hands become sweaty . He said there is such an urge to want to get off that exit and to go inside that Wind Creek Casino . Amen , you say well , hey , and sometimes , if we're not careful , we look down our noses and we say , well , why does she battle that ? Amen , that's ignorant , that's stupid . Amen for her to act like she does ?

Amen , why does he deal with that ? I don't deal with that , amen . He just needs act like she does Amen . Why does he deal with that ? I don't deal with that , amen . He just needs to grow up and pray through Amen . It's easy to look down your nose , amen , at them dealing with their devil , because that ain't the devil you deal with , amen .

But while you're looking down their nose , or your nose down at them , why don't you stand up and let us know ? Amen , the dark secrets that run through your mind . Amen in the thoughts that you think about . Amen , that you ain't wouldn't dare tell nobody , amen , what really goes on inside of your mind and in your heart . Amen , hey , amen .

She has a devil to deal with . He's got a devil to deal with , amen . What you've got to understand Is you've got an adversary Yourself that's trying to get a hold of you , that's warring against you , that's constantly trying his best To get a hold of your spirit and to get inside Of your mind .

It's not our adversary , it's not the church's adversary Amen , he said , but your adversary , amen , amen . But that's why we sung tonight oh , my God is awesome . Amen . You realize . The Bible said in Acts , chapter 10 and verse 38 .

It said how that God hath anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power , who went about doing good and healing all that were oppressed of the devil . Amen , I tell you that's what you need . You don't need an anxiety pill . You don't need a psychiatrist . You don't need an anxiety pill . You don't need a psychiatrist .

You don't need Michelode and Bud Light . You don't need CBD drugs . You don't need a therapist . You don't need a cigarette . You don't need any kind of antidepressant drugs . You don't need a nerve pill . You know what you just need .

You need Jesus Christ , you need the Holy Ghost and you need the power of God even to heal everyone that is oppressed of the devil . Hallelujah , amen . That's what the devil does if we're not careful . A lot of times we don't understand that what we are dealing with is just spiritual warfare . Amen .

We don't wrestle against flesh and blood , but we are dealing with Is just spiritual warfare . Amen . We don't wrestle against flesh and blood , but we are wrestling against Principalities and rulers of darkness . Amen . We are fighting against spirits that are after your soul .

I remember one time , years , many years ago and if you haven't never been here , don't ever go but there is a place called underground atlanta and we was up brother jamie hadaway pastored up or used to pass up around atlanta and we was up there preaching for him and and one day we had a free day and we just wanted to go outside , seeing had never been to

atlanta and we , we did not know what underground atlanta was , and we just wanted to go outside seeing hadn't ever been to atlanta . And uh , we , we did not know what underground atlanta was and uh , we , he had just said that he had heard about his own self and he said that it was like a , it's like a shopping mall .

Just a picture , a mall , you know , shopping mall , but it's , but it's underground . You go , you're underneath the city of atlanta

and uh , we just we didn't know , we just out of ignorance said hey , let's go down there , let's try it out , see what it is . And so we got there and you go down , you're underneath the city there and it is kind of more like what it does sound like .

Hey , bill , underground Atlanta is just like a shopping mall , but it's more of a gothic , you know , kind of a gothic theme Surrounded that tree and we was walking down through there and we all agreed this was a dud , we messed up , we shouldn't have come here .

But as we was walking down through there there was a little magic shop and there's a magician was outside of his little magic shop there and he he had him a little crowd kind of gathered up and he was doing a magic trick and he was just pulling quarters out of somebody's ear and he had a little table set up and and he'd take that , take a cup , and he

put it over a silver coin and pick the cup up and it was gold coin . He put it back down there and the coin disappeared . He put it back down there and the silver coin was back there . And we were just young and curious , you know , just kind of just watching the show .

We just walked over there and watched him doing these little tricks and stuff and all of a sudden he'd come up to . He just walked up to my wife and he acted like he had a deck of cards . Wasn't no cards there , but he just kind of fanned them out and he said pick a card .

And so my wife looked at him like he was crazy and cause there wasn't no cards there . And he said he said , pick a card . He said just pretend you pick a card . He said don't say what card it is . He said but just think of a card in your mind , but don't say what it is .

And so my wife , she just kind of reached up there and he said you got a card in your mind . She said yeah . And all of a sudden up on a shelf there was a wine glass sitting up there and had a deck of cards in it and all of a sudden he said watch right there .

And that wine glass got to shaking and them cards got to shaking by themselves , nothing over there touching it . And my wife , in her mind , was thinking seven of clubs .

And all of a sudden the cars got to moving and a card got to coming out of the deck and all of a sudden a seven of clubs came up out of the deck and that magician looked and he said is that your card ? And my wife said yeah , that's my card . And I said that's our cue to get out of here too , amen . And we left out of there .

And I said I'll let to say this , when I , after leaving that place , amen , for about a month every every day , brother , chucky , amen . I began to have these mind battles . I mean just thoughts , crazy thoughts run through my mind , amen , every day .

I felt so oppressed of the devil , I felt like my mind was in knots and I'd pray and I'd try , amen , but I could not get victory . About a month later I was just crying , I was praying God . I said what's going on ? Why is my mind so feel like it's so bound by the devil ?

And all of a sudden God spoke to me and he said when you allowed yourself to be entertained by that magician , I said you opened yourself up to spirits , amen , and now they're Attacking you . Amen . I begin to weep and cry and I said , god , I'm sorry , I repent of it . And I prayed through it .

And I prayed until I felt that oppressive spirit left me and I felt liberty and joy and all that came back inside of me again . I called brother Jamie . I said hey , brother , how you been doing ? And he said , brother , for about a month now . He said I have never fought the devil so hard in my mind . He said I feel so oppressed .

I said , brother . I said let me tell you what god said . I said we didn't have no business sitting there and letting ourselves be entertained about that magician . And I said we opened ourselves up to those spirits and I said I've got victory over . I said , brother , you need to get victory over . He called me a little while later .

He said , brother , I feel like God has delivered me from that oppressive spirit . And he said I feel like God has helped me and touched me . You know what you got to do . Even the devil tries to get a hold of you . And he said I feel like God has helped me and touched me . You know what you got to do . Amen , the devil tries to get a hold of you .

I feel like I'm talking to somebody here tonight . Amen , your mind is in knots .

You can't pray , you can't think , you can't worship , you can't get in the preaching Amen , you can't think when you get down here to altar , amen , somewhere you've opened yourself up and you've you've allowed the spirit amen to oppress your mind , and what you need is jesus and the holy ghost and the power of god able to set you free from that oppressive spirit

that's got a hold of your mind . Amen , I feel liberty tonight . I feel like I'm talking to somebody here tonight , hallelujah . But here's the problem Amen , we . You know . You know there's something special about preaching . I know when I'm preaching to somebody and I know when I missed it .

And right now I can feel I am talking to somebody in this house tonight . Amen , you're thinking . Amen , my mind has been running away with me . Amen , I can't think straight . I feel like I'm going crazy . You're just simply oppressed by the devil . But this is what we don't like to do . We ain't about to admit that we are oppressed of the devil .

We'll blame the preacher before we admit that I'm oppressed of the devil . That's because you don't understand what oppression means . Amen , we . We feel like to say I'm oppressed by the devil , we think we're saying the same thing as I'm saying I'm possessed of the devil , amen .

And we're , we're afraid of that and we don't want to , we don't want to bring ourself to to look like I'm that , I'm demon , possessed , amen . There's a difference between being possessed of the devil and being oppressed of the devil , amen .

I don't know if some of you , we live out in the country and a lot of times we have dogs and they're bad out in the country to get ticks on them , amen . And if that tick , it starts out real little , but that tick takes a hold of that dog and it begins little by little . It is not possessing that dog , it's not inside that dog , amen , but it is .

It is . It is like an oppressive spirit on that dog and what it does , it just little by little , is sucking the life out of that dog . And you know what it , what it does . I've seen them , we've had a many of them . All of a sudden you'll look out there one day and they'll be paralyzed their back legs , they'll be dragging their back legs around , amen .

And you go out there you think , oh , what in the world they done , got run over . What's happened ? Amen . And they've lost that joy that they used to have . They don't function right like they used to , and I've had it happen enough times I said , all right , I know what's happening .

And I and I've had it happen enough times I said , alright , I know what's happening . And I just start combing through that hair and usually it'll be right there on the back bone , and all of a sudden you'll see a big , old , fat tick , about as big as your thumbnail . It'll be right there in the middle of that dog's back . Amen , amen .

I don't know how you're supposed to do it . I do it the old fashioned way . I go , get me a pair of pliers , amen . I pull that tick off of there , amen . And just a little while you'll see feeling starts coming back to that dog's legs again .

And all of a sudden , that dog , he'll start standing up and in a couple of days , you know what that dog will do He'll be running around . You'll see life come back to that dog . Amen , he'll be running around . You'll see life come back to that dog . Even . He'll start functioning like he used to . Even that joy's come back to him .

And not because he was possessed by that tick . He was simply oppressed by that , and that's what the devil tries to do to me and you .

It's not that we're possessed of the devil , but if he can ever just get a , even just begin to talk to you , and you allow him to end and day out , amen , to sit right there and he talks to your mind and he's putting things in your mind and he puts fears in your mind , he puts doubt in your mind , he puts anxiety in your mind , he puts torment in your

mind , amen . And he talks to your mind and you find yourself . You come to church , but you don't have the joy that you used to have when you come to church . Even you come to church , but you don't function like you used to . Even something has happened to you and something's gone wrong with you . Even what happened to you ?

Even you say , well , I don't understand . I don't have any sin in my life , even I still live holy . Even let me tell you what it is . You've allowed an old , oppressive spirit , amen , that's got a hold of you and it's sucking the life out of you . It's sucked a revival out of your spirit , amen . It's pulling joy out of your spirit , amen .

But what you need tonight amen . The Bible says that Jesus went about healing everyone . Amen . That was a oppressed of the devil . Even what you need , amen . You need a healing Not just in your body , but you need a healing in your mind . I need God to touch my mind . I need God to put faith even back inside of me again .

I need God to put even reflect back inside of me again . I need God to put even reflect . Who am I preaching to tonight ? Even God said I want to heal you .

Hey , but I got an elder sister in my church , brother Joe and Sister Patsy elderly folks in my church and they're good people , I mean , they are sweet , sweet , godly people but they are not physically able to come to church . A lot of times she's in a wheelchair and she is totally dependent on him , amen , to get her back and forth to church .

Amen , but a lot of times they're just not able to come . And here a few years ago , all of a sudden it was Sunday night and it was right before church , about 10 , 15 minutes before church Sunday night , and all of a sudden Sister Patsy called me . She was hysterical and she was crying and she said oh , brother JJ .

She said I know it's almost church time . She said but Joe got a bad report from the doctor and they don't give him but three months to live . And she said I know it's church , but if we ever needed you , is there any way you'd come right now ? And it just broke my heart , tore my heart out .

I said yeah , I said I feel like I need to come over and help you . And I called Brother Mike , our church . I said , hey , be instant in season , out of season . Amen . I said take care of the service and preach . I'm going to Brother Joe and Sister Patsy , but on my way over there I was praying .

I said , oh Lord , they gave Brother Joe three months to live . Sister Patsy's in a wheelchair , I said she'll probably end up in the nursing home . Amen . I said , oh Lord . And all of a sudden God started talking to me . He said don't you go over there , amen , just sit around and cry with them . He said , hey , I'm sending you over tonight , amen .

And that's because it ain't nothing but a spirit of hell and a spirit of fear that is tormenting her mind right now , hallelujah . But the doctor said he ain't got but three months to live . God said it ain't nothing but a spirit of fear that's getting a hold of their minds . I said , all right , lord . So I went in their house .

Brother Joe was sitting in the recliner and he was gasping for breath . Couldn't hardly breathe . I said well , the Lord said it's the spirit of fear , I said , but looking at him breathing , amen . I said it looked like more spirit of fear to me and she just cried . She said oh , brother JJ , what am I going to do ? What am I going to do without my Joe ?

I said hold on , sister Patsy . I said I didn't come over here , amen , just to cry with you . I said I come with a word from the Lord for you . I said God said that this right here ain't nothing but a spirit of fear . I said we ain't going to listen to this . I said we ain't going to accept what the doctor just said .

I said I come over here to pray for you . I said we're going to cast this spirit of fear out of this house . I said we're gonna get faith back inside of us again and I said we're gonna let god have the final . Say so over brother joe , how did who ? She said well , pray , we need prayer , amen . I grabbed their hands and I got to pray it .

Sister Patsy got to shouting in her wheelchair , brother Joe was sitting in the recliner and Brother Joe got to shaking and a jerking and flopping around in his recliner . All of a sudden , brother Joe said I told you . He said something just happened to me . He said I don't know what just happened in my heart , because that's what they said .

They said his heart was full of plaque and there wasn't nothing they could do for it . They gave him three months to live . He said something just touched my heart . He said I can breathe , hallelujah . And so , sister Pat , she said pray for us , brother JJ , we got to go back this week to Mobile and they're going to run some more tests .

And Brother Joe said he said I ain't going back to the doctor . He said God just healed me . And she said well , joe , don't you think you need to go to the doctor ? He said why should I go to the doctor ? He said I just have the doctor right here right now .

And she said well , joe , don't you think you ought to at least go and let them check you out ? He said well , I'll go , let them check me out . But he said ain't no use of going down there , he said because something just happened inside of me . Hallelujah , amen . About a few days later , amen .

I got a phone call from Sister Patsy and she said Brother JJ , brother JJ . And she said brother jj , brother jj . She said where are you ? I said I'm driving down the road . She said pull over on side the road . She said because you're probably going to want to shout on this one . I said what is it ?

She said we're leaving mobile and said they run tests and looked at joe's heart and the doctor said we don't know what happened , but we can't find any plaque in his heart . Even they gave him three months to live . That's been about five years . Even they were just in church , even the other Sunday .

Even I'm gonna tell you something , even God did not give us a spirit of fear . But let me tell you what God did give us . He gave us a spirit of love and a power and of a sound mind . I feel the Holy Ghost tonight . Even what we need is Jesus to heal all that are oppressed of the devil .

When I pastor where Brother Chuck is there at Alice Smith . Some of y'all know Brother Earl Evans Elder man goes there and Brother Earl used to take care of elderly people and he took care of a man by the name of Mr Dewberry , amen and Mr and Mrs Dewberry . They were a sweet couple . They were Methodist people , amen , good folks .

I went over a were Methodist people , amen , good folks . I went over a few times to visit with them , amen . But Mr Dewberry passed away and Mrs Dewberry , she was here . She was an elderly woman , this big old house , by herself . They didn't have no kids . And she was sitting in that house , amen , just tormented in her mind , lonely , depressed .

She said she'd have panic attacks , couldn't breathe , scared to death . I'm dying . And she said the worst thing was when a thunderstorm would come . She said I'd literally tremble with fear and anxiety . And one day , amen , she met Brother Earl . She said , brother Earl , you reckon your preacher , brother JJ , would come and pray for my mind ?

I feel like somebody's about to get healed tonight . Praise the Lord , amen . And he said I'm sure he would . And he called me and said she needs prayer , said this last thunderstorm that they had . She said I literally crawled up under my bed and wept like a little baby with anxiety and fear . And she said I'm going crazy .

I need your preacher to pray for me . I went over there Me , and Brother Earl went over there and she was sitting there . And he said what's going on , miss Newberry ? And she said I've been wanting to get you . She said would you tell that , ms Newberry ? And she said I've been wanting to get you .

She said would you tell that preacher that prayed for me that night that I ain't had another panic attack since y'all prayed for me that night ? She said when storms come , she said I lay down and I sleep like a baby .
