¶ Intro / Opening
Music . Greetings everyone . This is Brother David Webb from Hodgenville
¶ Introduction by Brother David Webb
, kentucky . Thank you for listening to Holiness Preaching Online . We want to present to you today a great sermon from another great preacher Amen .
Appreciate it . Thank you , brother Ralston . Thank you , my . Hasn't this been a wonderful conference this year . I'm telling you , the Spirit of God has been here in just a wonderful way , a challenging way . I appreciate all the preaching that I've heard and I want to thank the board for the opportunity . Thank you , brother Webb , and all of the board
¶ The Focus on Doctrinal Preaching
for the opportunity to be a part of this conference this year . I appreciate the focus on doctrinal preaching . Hey , the truth . God's going to confirm his truth . He said it will not return void , and so we have his promise on that Boy .
I appreciate brother Andrew Blevins this morning , driving a stake of truth like a surveyor and stretching the line out and showing us what's inbounds and what's out of bounds . We need that kind of preaching folks we really do . Yeah , just give God thanks for that this morning . Praise God , I want you to turn here .
I'll try not to be too long here today , and I certainly would love for us to have an altar call here in a little while . And I'm just expecting the Lord not only to help me tell you about these wonderful truths of the baptism of the Holy Ghost they're his truths . But I'm expecting God to confirm his truth and fill somebody today with the Holy Ghost .
Am I predicting it ? Well , no , I'm not predicting it . To confirm his truth and fill somebody today with the Holy Ghost . Am I predicting it ? Well , no , I'm not predicting it . I'm just saying I know how this works . God's truth will not return void . Wasn't it wonderful to see some folks receive the Holy Ghost here last night ?
I don't think God's done with that . I think he's wanting to do some more of that . The book of Acts here this morning I'm going to read from two places rather quickly the 19th chapter , and then I'm going to read also from the 8th chapter . We're talking about the landmarks of the baptism of the Holy Ghost .
And so put a hand up one more time and ask God to open our hearts . Father , I thank you for the word of God that's already anointed . I pray for a blessing on the reading of it . Let it go into our hearts and produce fruit . In Jesus' name , I pray . And the church
¶ Scripture Reading: Acts 19 and Acts 8
said amen . And it came to pass verse 1 , that while Apollos was at Corinth , paul yeah , you can stand with me having passed through the upper coast , came to Ephesus and finding certain disciples . There was something about these people that he realized . They're not just Jews of the synagogue . He counted them disciples .
There was something about them that he noticed . And when he found them , he said unto them have you received the Holy Ghost since you believed ? You notice there how he frames that question Receive the Holy Ghost since you believe ? Paul taught very clearly that there were two distinct experiences . And the church said amen .
His question wouldn't make sense if that was not the case . And they said unto him we've not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost , what ? And he said unto them unto what then ? Were you baptized ? Another proof that the apostles baptized in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy ghost . Else , the question would not make any sense .
We know how to baptize . You've not even heard . There was a Holy ghost . How are you baptized ? They explain it here . And they said , uh , uh , unto John's baptism . Then said Paul , john barely baptized with the baptism of repentance , saying unto the people that they should believe on him , which should come after him , which is on Jesus Christ .
When they heard this , they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus . Now I've already clarified how the apostles baptized . That simply means in the authority of Jesus . They baptized them in the name of the Father , son and the Holy Ghost . Can I get a witness on that here today ?
And when Paul laid his hands upon them , the Holy Ghost came on them and they spake with tongues and prophesied . And all the men were about 12 . Were about 12 . Quickly , acts , chapter 8 , verse number 14 . Now , when the apostles were at excuse me , the apostles which were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God .
Philip had been down there preaching a powerful revival . They sent them Peter and John who , when they were , come down , prayed for them that they might receive the Holy Ghost . They've already been getting saved . Miracles have been happening , people are delivered .
But they come down and pray for them that they might receive the Holy Ghost , for as yet he was fallen upon none of them . Only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus or under his authority , to Matthew , chapter 28 , in the name of the Father , son and Holy Ghost . Then laid they their hands on them and they received the Holy Ghost .
God bless you . Thank you for standing for the reading of the word of God here today and you can be seated . I appreciate this idea here . The theme of the conference here of landmarks . Brother Gallagher , while he was trampling through the tulips , let us know what a landmark was .
The other day , and Brother Ralston as well , they did a very effective job of describing to us what a landmark is . Just a touchstone here on that . It's an obvious and distinct marker in the landscape that clearly marks where you are All right . So perhaps a notable mountain when I'm coming to PFYC , that notable mountain is Jellicoe Mountain .
Perhaps a river If I'm going to Ohio , that notable river is the Ohio River , or a canyon , or it can be , as Brother Ralston pointed out , a prominent building or a skyline .
Well , I've chosen some prominent earthly landmarks to kind of be the backdrop of my slides here because of how they connect to the subject of the baptism of the Holy Ghost , and I'm also going to bounce off the biblical method that teaches us about the Holy Ghost and I'm going to use a couple of earthly elements that are familiar to us that the Bible uses to
teach us about the person of the Holy Ghost . Somebody say thank God for the Holy Ghost . Now , I want to talk to you here , first of all , about this first landmark and when , when I'm talking about this first landmark , the first idea that comes to my mind here , it comes from the ministry of Jesus .
All right , and that is the emphasis of the baptism of the Holy Ghost . Thank you , brothers , for asking me to preach on this wonderful experience of the baptism of the Holy Ghost , preach on this wonderful experience of the baptism of the Holy Ghost , and I'm glad that we have a generation not only of preachers but of young people who are here and are
¶ The Landmark Concept Explained
interested to hear about this experience of the baptism of the Holy Ghost . I think we need to keep the emphasis up . Can I hear an amen ? The ministry of Jesus was one of the things that was used to emphasize the baptism of the Holy Ghost .
Amen , now it was , it was , it was something his ministry when , when he began to minister in this earth , his ministry in this earth was the most monumental event in earth's history since creation . Creation obviously was monumental , but there was nobody there to witness creation , all right .
But in Jesus's ministry , the creator manifests himself to humanity in a human body . Oh hallelujah . Now God had manifested himself in a cloud . He had manifested himself in a fire , in a bush , to Moses on Mount Sinai , to Moses on Mount Sinai . He had manifested himself on Mount Sinai to the nation of Israel .
But nothing matches the fact when God chose a day to manifest himself in the flesh . Great is the mystery of godliness . God manifested himself in the flesh . A burning bush might intrigue you . A great pillar of cloud might captivate your attention . God on a mountain might terrify you .
But when God manifested himself in the flesh , he was doing it in a way that he could talk to humanity like he had never talked to humanity before . John said that which was from the beginning . We beheld with our eyes , we handled with our hands . We got a hold of God like we never had before . When Jesus came in the flesh , oh hallelujah .
And it wasn't just him coming , oh hallelujah . And it wasn't just him coming , but his ministry was a manifestation of god . Now I'm just going to tell you this is beyond my comprehension , but it is a biblical truth that ought to be preached , and the scripture says that Jesus was the fullness of the Godhead bodily .
I'm still trying to wrap my mind about , around the idea that he can fully represent the second person of the Godhead , and then I realized that the New Testament teaches us that he's the fullness of the Godhead bodily . I don't understand that . I don't understand that .
One thing I do understand about that , and that is simply this when Jesus began to minister in this earth , he began to display to this world the workings of the triune God .
What had went on in the backdrop , behind the scenes , in the mystery realm , now , because one of the members of the Trinity is walking the earth in the flesh , now we see God working in our world and we start to understand something about the workings of the Trinity that we've never understood before . Jesus is here .
He's God in the flesh , but he's talking about somebody else . He's talking about my father . I am come to do the work of my father . I am come to do the will of my father and , in fact , that's one of the rules that he operates by as a man . He will not do anything unless it is prompted to him by the father .
It's the father's timing and it's the father's will . I didn't come to do my own will . I came to do the will of the father . Can I hear an amen ? Why don't you turn these stones to bread ? Oh , you can tell me to do it , you can give me a good reason , but my father is not prompting me to do it and I will not do it .
Why don't you change this water into wine ? Or why don't you do something about this wedding feast here ? Because they have no wine Woman , what have I to do with thee ? Mine hour is not yet come . You're a good mother and I respect you , but I cannot be prompted by the voice of my good mother . I must only work by the prompting of the voice of my father .
Hang with me , amen , because not only does he talk about the father towards the end of his ministry , he starts talking about somebody else more freely . I've got to go away , because if I don't go away , the Holy Ghost won't come . Oh , but if I go away , he's going to come .
And when he comes , greater works than this shall you do , because I go to my Father . Oh , hallelujah , peter caught it . He tells us about it when he preaches at Cornelius' house , in Acts 10.38 .
He says how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and power who went about doing good , healing all that were oppressed of the devil , for God was with him . Can I get a witness ? I want you to hear me real good here today . Here today , jesus was the first and the best Trinity preacher that this world has ever seen .
He displayed it like it had never been displayed before . I know the old Testament talks about it , but we really don't comprehend it until we look at it through the lens of the ministry of Jesus Christ . Can I hear an amen ? If there's no triune God , then Jesus' ministry amen and his words are misleading and he is a great imposter .
But he's not a great imposter . He's a second person of the Godhead and he's working like he always did with God , the Father , and God , the Holy Ghost , and I want to understand who he is and the church said amen . Well ,
¶ First Landmark: Emphasis of Baptism
he declares the Godhead , but at the end of his ministry he begins to emphasize the baptism of the Holy Ghost . He emphasizes it with his life . He is the message , the messenger and the model for us in this experience of the baptism of the holy ghost . If jesus christ , by whom were all things made ?
And without , without him , was not anything made , if jesus christ , when he was in a human body , will not do ministry without the power of the Holy Ghost , then I must ask us here this morning , brothers and sisters , how can we who are now the body of Christ , since he , the head , has ascended into heaven , how can we expect to carry on what he started
without the power of the Holy Ghost ? Hey , I want to tell you something here today Jesus , not just , not , not just . He didn't just do this to show us the workings of the triune God , but you got to remember he was in a human body and he also did it to show us how he wants us to live in our frailty in this world . He emphasized it with his life .
He emphasized this message so much , even before he ascended . He's still making this message plain to the disciples that they need to be filled with the Holy Ghost . He emphasizes it over evangelism . I'm going to tell you something evangelism is a pretty important thing . He came to seek and save that which was lost .
He commissions preachers to preach the gospel to the lost , but before he ascends into heaven , he looks at these disciples who had been preaching and he tells them what you need to do now . Number one priority is you need to go to jerusalem and you need to tarry in jerusalem until you be endued with power from on high .
When you get get it , you're going to go into Judea and Samaria and all the uttermost parts of the earth and you're going to preach this gospel to every creature . But before you can accomplish that great task , I've got something for you .
It's assignment number one Go down to Jerusalem and wait until the Holy Ghost comes , because you're not going to be able to get this job done without the power of the Holy Ghost .
I showed you how I worked in the power of the Holy .
Ghost and that's how you're going , thrusted in working with Jesus . I love end time events and truth . I love to preach on those doctrines In the scripture , but Jesus Emphasized this experience of the baptism of the Holy Ghost even over a discussion with the disciples about the end time .
They're walking with him out on the Mount of Olives and that's the backdrop I've got here . The Mount of Olives . It's a landmark here . It didn't have all this stuff that's there right now that you see in this picture , certainly not that Muslim dome of the rock , but he's walking out and he's going to ascend from the Mount of Olives .
This is kind of a view of the city of Jerusalem here and he's ascending up on that mount where you can see the city , kind of like in this picture here , and the disciples are saying to him are you going to now restore the kingdom ? Is this it ? These are the end time events .
We've always heard about him and now it looks like these things we didn't understand have happened . Is now the day that you're going to do that ? He said it's not for you to know the times and seasons which the father hath kept in his own power , but I tell you what you do need to do .
You need to go down there in jerusalem and you need to tarry until the holy ghost comes upon you . He'll teach you things to come . There's a whole lot about in time that the Holy Ghost will teach you . He will lead you and guide you into all truth , but what you've got to do right now is you've got to go get the Holy Ghost .
Let me tell you what we've got to do right here , as young people in 2025 . We've got to do right here , as young people in 2025 . More than anything , we need blood-bought believers that have been baptized in the Holy Ghost . Do you have it ? Wave at me if you've got it .
We sing that old song sometimes we get to praying for people to pray through to the Holy Ghost . Have you got it ? Have you got it ? Have you got it like the Bible says ? How many of you have it ? Like the Bible says ? Then we'll roll over what did you call that , brother Webb ? Into one of those 711 verses . We'll roll over into verse 2 .
Do you want it ? Do you want it ? Do you want it ? Like the Bible says ? Anybody here want the baptism of the Holy Ghost ? You can have it . You can have it . You can have it . You can have it like the Bible says . I got another landmark here and I just got four , and I'm not going to be long today .
My second landmark is simply this there is an evidence of the baptism of the Holy Ghost Right . An experience like this that is so notable and life changing , there has to be something that visibly marks this moment that can be readily used to identify . It's happened . That's how we know it has happened .
I'm going to tell you something here today You're armed with more information than what they were armed with on the day of Pentecost . They knew nothing
¶ Jesus as Trinity Preacher
about speaking with other tongues . Can I hear an amen ? They knew that they needed to be filled with the Holy ghost and they had observed the ministry of Jesus , but they didn't understand what we have in the book of acts today .
Well , there is this marker , this landmark , this visible thing that happens , that is readily used to identify that we have received the Holy Ghost and , according to the book of Acts , it is to speak with other tongues as the Spirit of God gives the utterance . Do I have any bonafide holy rolling tongue-talking believers in the house ?
It's the overwhelming identifying phenomena that is the sign of being filled with the holy ghost is to speak with other tongues as the spirit of god gives the utterance . Now we've got some passages in the scripture here , and thank you , brother Trent Brewer , is it ? Yeah , thank you so much , brother Trent , for helping me with this PowerPoint here today .
I'm not going to read all these , but if you want to look at this for reference and study later , we've got a list of places in the book of Acts , of course the most well-known Acts , chapter two , verses one through four . That's where the Holy ghost fell on the day of Pentecost . Cloven tongues like as a fire sat upon each of them .
They heard the sound like , like a noise of a mighty rushing wind , and they all began to speak with other tongues as the Spirit of God gave them utterance . Acts , chapter 8 , I read that text today , verses 14 through 17 . Maybe somebody can bring me a bottle of water . Acts 8 , verses 14 through 17, . That's in Samaria .
It's clear that they were getting saved in Samaria , but the Holy Ghost had not yet fallen on any of them and when Peter and John come down , they lay hands on them and they receive the Holy Ghost , a distinct amen experience . Thank you so much , brother from salvation . And they are baptized with the Holy Ghost .
Somebody raise their hand and say hallelujah , so much , brother , from salvation , and they are baptized with the holy ghost . Somebody raise a hand , say hallelujah acts . Chapter 10 , cornelius's house .
Peter is preaching there and , and an unusual thing happens there , while he is preaching the word , the Holy Ghost falls on a group of Gentiles in Cornelius' house and they get saved and sanctified and filled with the Holy Ghost all in one shot and they begin to speak with other tongues as the Spirit gives them utterance . And Peter makes a note of it there .
He says they received the Holy Ghost , just like we did in the beginning . Acts 19 , our other text that we read have you received the Holy Ghost since you believed ? The distinction of experiences is there . But also it tells us specifically that when they received it in Ephesus , that they spake with other tongues and prophesied .
Now you'll note that some of these references are highlighted in red . Those are the references where it distinctly says that they spoke with other tongues . Acts chapter 19 is where Paul is prayed for by Ananias . Ananias says very plainly the Holy Ghost sent me to pray for you that you might receive your sight and that you might receive the Holy Ghost .
He had been praying amen for about three days and he had got right with God . In fact he called Jesus Lord on the Damascus Road . But now , when Ananias lays hands on him , the scales fall off of his eyes .
It doesn't say in Acts , chapter 9 , that that's where he got the Holy Ghost , but I think Ananias , if he knew he was going to heal his blind eyes and he said God's going to give him the Holy Ghost . I think it's just understood that that happened too . And Paul tells us later in 1 Corinthians , chapter 14 . And verse 18 .
I thank my God that I speak with tongues more than you all . I'm going to tell you something If you talk in tongues more than the Corinthian church , that's a lot of tongue talking . Paul was a tongue talking believer . Can I hear an amen ? They spoke with tongues in Ephesus . They spoke with tongues at Cornelius' house .
They spoke with tongues on the day of Pentecost and something happened in Samaria . Simon saw miracles . Simon saw people delivered of the devil . Simon saw sinners get saved . But when they laid their hands on them and they got the Holy Ghost , he starts pulling his billfold out and he says let me give you some money .
This is the most impressive thing I've seen in this whole revival Samaritans getting the baptism of the Holy Ghost . I won't tell you something here today we still need this tongue talking baptism of the Holy Ghost today . Why tongues ? Well , in a nutshell , I can't help but think it's the opposite of Babel .
Babel is a judgment to scatter the people and divide them . Pentecost is a blessing to gather them in to the harvest for the glory of God . One is God's power to judge and the other is part of the power that carries God's message of salvation . And the church said amen . But there's another thing that deeply impresses me about speaking with tongues . Why ?
I mean , if God chooses it , that's good enough . But we're logical creatures and we're prone to ask questions , and I think God gives us some answers through the principles of his word , some answers to the principles of his word , one of the real reasons that this is the initial sign , evidence of the baptism of the Holy Ghost .
Now , if you really get it , you're going to walk in the spirit too . Brother Andrew , that's the continuing evidence . But the initial sign , evidence of the baptism of the Holy Ghost is to speak with tongues , and it's beautiful evidence that God has complete control . Surrender , total surrender , surrender , total surrender .
James tells us that our most unruly member in our body is the tongue . And when the Holy Ghost comes in , brother Webb and we are filled . He don't do it unless we obey him . He gives the Holy Ghost to them that obey him . That's not just talking about if he tells you to run , you need to run , and I'm not against that .
But that idea goes a whole lot deeper than that . He's talking to Pharisees when he says that , and those that resist the gospel . And he said he gives the Holy Ghost to them that obey Him , them that obey and repent of their sins , them that obey and say Lord , you can have complete control in my life . I am ultimately and totally and completely surrendered .
And when we get to that point , the Holy Ghost takes our tongue , that most unruly member , and he runs
¶ Second Landmark: Evidence of Tongues
it up like a flag on a flagpole and he waves it in front of everybody to a divine wind that says I have conquered . Here I am ruling here . I have set this up as my territory and I have set this up as a beachhead through which I'm going to pour forth my gospel into this world . I want it , don't you ?
I'm telling you , it's the overwhelming , overwhelming evidence that clearly shows people were full of the Holy Ghost . Brother Enoch mentioned Charles Price last night . I mentioned Charles Price last night . I read that biography , probably 35 , 36 years ago Brother Beam counseled me to .
It was in the library at Free Gospel , and the stories in that book are just incredible . I think perhaps one of the most incredible ones is when he tells about getting the Holy Ghost .
He got saved at one of those Pentecostal meetings and he started attending the little cottage-type prayer meetings and he was at one of those prayer meetings and he was at one of those prayer meetings and they were praying for God to fill him with the Holy Ghost .
And you know how we do sometimes when we pray for people to get the Holy Ghost , and I love it . But you can't help but wonder sometimes if some folks don't get the Holy Ghost . In self-defense they just , oh God , give him more , oh God , give him more . Just screaming , hollering , praying for him .
His hands were raised , he was doing everything he knew to do . The old preacher was praying and screaming God , give him more , god , give him more . And he got so frustrated , brother John Burdine , they finally opened his eyes and he looked at that preacher and he said if I get any more it's going to kill me .
And the preacher said amen , kill him , god , kill him . He was all nervous . He had seen people get the Holy Ghost and they fell down when they got the Holy Ghost . He was too dignified for that . He didn't want to fall down when he got the Holy Ghost . And you don't have to fall down when you get the Holy Ghost . He actually went to a pastor .
He was so concerned about it and and in the discussion he said do I have to fall down to get the Holy Ghost ? No , charles , you don't have to fall down to get the Holy Ghost . No , charles , you don't have to fall down to get the Holy Ghost .
But he didn't feel relief very long because the pastor then looked back at him and said but you probably will have to fall down to get it , charles . He was in that cottage prayer meeting and that old preacher said kill him , god , kill him . You know what happened about that time Down he went and he said kill him , god , kill him .
You know what happened About that time . Down he went and he said when I went down I looked up at the ceiling and there was a ball of fire that came down into the building and as it descended into the room it's in his biography it burst into pieces and little balls of fire shot out and began to hit people that were in the room .
He said it was so real in my sight that the first one that shot at me I dodged it and the old preacher hollered at me again and said let it hit you , charles , let it hit you . And he said the next one that came my way , I let it hit me . And I began to speak with another tongue as the Spirit of God gave the utterance .
I don't know if we'll hear a win today . We could , we could . I don't know if we'll see a ball of fire today , we could .
My pastor , brother Carlos Burdine , standing back over there when he was in his late 30s at the Glorious Church of God he had been seeking the Holy Ghost and they made an altar call one Sunday morning he was up playing the guitar and singing and he said the atmosphere changed in the room . The Holy Ghost came in and he said about that time I looked up .
And when I looked up he said I saw a ball of fire come into that old , glorious church of God . That's where me and Sister Kim got married . Amen , I think it was built in the 1800s , amen . But the Holy Ghost came down in that building .
He said it hit me in the top of the head and I began to speak with other tongues as the Spirit of God gave the utterance . And I've never been the same since . I don't know if we'll see a ball of fire today . I don't know if we'll hear a ball of fire today . I don't know if we'll hear the wind today .
They didn't see a ball of fire in Acts chapter 8 or Acts chapter 10 or Acts chapter 19 or Acts chapter 9 . But I want to tell you what they did . They spoke with other tongues as the Spirit of God gave the utterance and that's been the evidence down through the ages and it's still the evidence and a landmark today .
I don't know if that's really the upper room . It's an upper room in Jerusalem . But I'm going to tell you what we need a landmark right here at BFYC Today . Can I get a witness quickly ? Another landmark of the baptism of the Holy Ghost is an emergence of power . Jesus said in Acts , chapter one , verse eight but ye shall receive power after that .
The Holy Ghost has come upon you and you shall be witnesses unto me , jerusalem , judea and Samaria and the uttermost parts of the earth .
And I'm not going to take a long time on this landmark , but I will simply tell you this the Holy Ghost comes to give us power to do the work of God , and the body of Christ said Amen To do the work of God , and the body of Christ said amen . He compares what Jesus does in John , chapter 7 .
To rivers Of living water , not just crossing a river and going into another state , but rivers Plural that get down inside of you and carry you into places , for God , that you would never go on your own . I'm going to tell you what you need here today and I'm getting ready to bring to a close here . You need your landmark .
Oh , hallelujah , you need your landmark . I've got this chart here . Amen , brother Trent , if you'll give me that next slide . Amen , three baptisms here . All right , top left hand corner . When we get saved , there is the baptism into the body of Christ . It happens .
The time is at conversion , and it is the Holy Ghost the scripture teaches that baptizes us into the body of Christ . Well , at our conversion , we believe in water baptism , which is a public profession that baptizes us into the body of Christ .
Well , at our conversion , we believe in water baptism , which is a public profession Of the inward work Of salvation , and so that is a water baptism . We're baptized in water . The time Is after conversion in our public profession , and the agent that baptizes us is the minister who baptizes us in water in the
¶ Charles Price's Holy Ghost Experience
name of the Father and Son and the Holy Ghost . But then there's the baptism I'm preaching about here today , and that is the baptism in the Holy Ghost . Oh , hallelujah . It is after conversion .
That is solidified from the teaching of the book of Acts , it's clear from the life of the disciples , from what happened , amen , in Samaria and at Ephesus and all through history . But Jesus himself is the one who John the Baptist said is coming after me , the shoe latchet of whom I'm not worthy to bow down and unloose .
I baptize you in water , but he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost and with fire , I guarantee you . If you want to . You've got a preacher that can baptize you in water here today . I guarantee you that if you get saved , that the Holy Ghost can baptize you into the body of Christ .
And I'm here to report to you again this morning that if you get hungry enough and you want it and you fully surrender , jesus will still . He shall , he shall , oh yes , he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost and fire Singers . Get ready . I'm about ready to get you up here . I just got a few more minutes . Oh God , help me . Are you saved ?
Are you saved ? Do you remember where you got saved ? Do you remember where you got saved ? Wave at me real big . If you remember when you got saved , you've been baptized in water . Well , you got me real big when ? At Baptistry River Creek . I was talking to Brother Jason and Sister Tara Turner the other day and she began to recount .
I know Brother Webb's here somewhere . She began to recount that I think it was a Sunday afternoon , but it was an October afternoon . It was warm , but that mountain creek wasn't warm . I don't know how many we baptized that day and I was about 50 pounds lighter , I didn't have as much insulation . I got the shivering and I tried not to shake and I couldn't .
I just shook in that cold water . As we baptized a bunch of them In water . That day I'm going to tell you what some of you need here today . How many remembers when you got the Holy Ghost ? I was in my bedroom . I've been praying , pouring my heart out to God . God was sanctifying me . Brother Shad , I cleaned my closet out . I got rid of my television .
I got rid of my television . I would have sold it but I wasn't allowed to because I didn't buy it . But I unplugged it and I quit watching it until they finally figured out . We might as well get rid of this thing . Are you going to help me preach a little while here ? I got rid of some music because I was getting closer to God .
I got rid of some relationships oh , somebody wave at me here today had to let some friends go because I was getting closer to another friend and their ways weren't like his ways . I'll never forget . I'll never forget that evening when I was in my room and I went and got my mother . She was . She was in the other room .
I said mama , would you come and pray with me ? And she came in there and knelt down beside me . Brother Webb , I'll never forget it . I was on my knees and I threw my hands up and I threw my heart open .
And I threw my hands up and I threw my heart open and I threw my head back and all of a sudden , all of a sudden , the third person of the Trinity came right into that little bedroom at Tomahawk Drive in Somerset , kentucky , and I began to speak with other tongues as the Spirit of God gave utterance and I began to sing in other tongues as the Spirit of
God gave utterance , and I began to sing in other tongues as the Spirit of God gave utterance and I gave a message in tongues and my mama interpreted it . And I've never been the same since that landmark
¶ Third Landmark: Emergence of Power
moment in my life when God filled me with the Holy Ghost , who wants it , leave us 15 . I'm closing .
Come on .
I took him to a little youth camp . He was nine years old . Oh praise God , I couldn't go to the whole camp . All I could go was Friday morning . Brother Zach Kaufman was preaching . I took him up there . He was nine , wasn't he ? Nine years old , yeah , and about two foot shorter . He sat on the front pew . They asked me to sit on the platform .
I said , brother Danny , I want to sit with my boy today , if you'll permit me to . And he did . And Brother Zach preached on the Holy Ghost and Levi was the first one in the altar . Friday morning , oh hallelujah .
And in just a little bit , on a Friday morning , the only service in that camp we could go to he came out of there , speaking with other tongues , as the Spirit of God gave the utterance . I promise it's not me , I can't tell you . It'll make you taller if you get the Holy Ghost .
It kind of looks like it didn't leave us life , but it didn't work in my life . But I will tell you this it'll make you stand a whole lot taller in the spirit . I appreciate everybody that's prayed for me . So many people shook my hand and said I've been praying for you . Thank you , I felt it today and in the days leading up to this .
Has anybody prayed for God to fill somebody with the Holy Ghost today ? Come on , I want to see your hand up high . Did anybody put a number on it ? It's alright if you didn't . Did anybody put a number on it ? Well , let me ask you God filled six at least I know boys over here with the Holy Ghost last night . Right , how many believes God

can fill six more boys right over here with the Holy Ghost ? Man , if I was a boy and didn't have the Holy Ghost , I'd make sure I was one of those six . But guess what ? If you're not one of those six , you know what I believe ? I believe he can fill six more right here . No , I'm not trying to hype this up .
I'm here to tell you that's not even 10% of what God did the first time he filled people with the Holy Ghost . It was 120 and it was everybody that was in the house . They were all filled with the Holy Ghost and began to speak with other tongues , and the Spirit of God gave the others .
I believe God can fill six girls right here and six more right here and six more back there and six more over here . Oh , somebody help me here tonight . If I didn't have the baptism of the Holy Ghost , I'd be getting as close as I can to the fire here tonight and I'd have a landmark at PFYC .
I'd throw my hands up , I'd throw my heart open and I'd say take all of me , god , and while you're at it , give me the Holy Ghost .
