Brian Mistro is our guest for this episode. Mistro just completed his sixth season as the head football coach at National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division II member University of Jamestown in Jamestown, North Dakota.
The Gilbert, Arizona native came to Jamestown as a football student-athlete in 2005 and played his first three seasons for Coach Tom Dosch and his senior season for Coach Bud Etzold. During his four years as a Jimmie student-athlete, Jamestown posted a combined record of 27-15. He was a two-year starter at safety for the Jimmies and served as team captain while earning All-Conference honors his senior year. Mistro was part of Jimmie teams that advanced to the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) playoffs in both 2006 and 2007.
After graduation, Mistro joined Dosch's staff at NCAA Division II Northern State (SD) as a graduate assistant and joined the staff at NCAA Division III Concordia College (MN) after earning his graduate degree.
Mistro graduated from Jamestown College in 2009 with a degree in Communications with a Media concentration. He earned a Master of Science degree from Northern State in Education, Teaching, and Learning with an emphasis in Health, PE, and Coaching in May 2012. He is currently pursuing a Doctor of Leadership degree at University of Jamestown. Brian and his wife Meaghan have three sons, A.J., Nolan, and Jack.
