It was a busy Day 1 of the NHL draft for the Avalanche, acquiring Ross Colton from the Tampa Bay Lightning in exchange for the 37th overall pick, landing Colorado a player that perfectly fits the Avs system and their competition timeline for a bargain price. The Avs also held on to both first round picks, and used them to draft Callum Ritchie and Mikhail Gulyayev late in the first round. What's the upside for both of Ritchie and Gulyayev in the future?
