So I reiterate here, the bill is dead. The story of this great city is about the years before this night. Hey everyone this is Ho Ho Hong Kong with me Vivek Mabani and my Co host who is. I am Mohammed Mehdi. That's right, with the same tone as always. Same tone. Yeah, I don't really know how to start. I don't know, like each time I basically start without thinking and I just go and be like, alright, what's it going to be? I was like, oh, it's too late now.
That is true, Yeah. Yeah. Like we never actually, like, we sometimes maybe chat about like, oh, how was your day or whatever. Like, do you ever talk about this? But we'll never actually go like, all right, hi, we're starting like, who is your host? Yeah, yeah, OK. Yeah, it's always like, you ready? Take Whoop live. Hey, everyone. Yeah, yeah. And like just, I basically just starts talking and shit and like, I'm like, oh shit, my voice seems to be going that way.
I'll keep it going. Yeah, that's what's the intro guys. It's the yeah, it's the yes end factor. Yes, in fact, yeah, just throw yourself in that you figure it out at that moment. Yeah, yeah. Well, it finally stopped training. I don't know what. When the time just comes out, it will rain again, but in our I guess recent trend of starting to starting absence by talking about the weather like we're 2 old British men. Good. Did you notice this?
This drizzly? Yeah. I mean, I've, I've been here on this planet for long enough to realize this part of life, but it still bothers me. It still bothers me. And yeah, it's a dragon boat today. Yeah. Dragon boating. Happy dragon boating. How many of you are went to it? How many of you are still at it? How many of you are actually part of it? I was at an event and someone was saying that they're they're going to Stanley and they're like sponsoring something or
whatever. But is it, is there more than one location? Is it all all on Stanley Beach? No. No, I think like Shotton and stuff also has yeah, 'cause come on, let's be honest dude, they can't only have. Stanley clearly was the for the white people. Yes, he was very white. Yeah, yeah, you can definitely tell like, but I'm I remember Shotton said they have that Big Lake lake over there as well. Did. You ever see one?
In person, I must have seen it once, but again, dude, you know me. I'll be looking like, yeah, OK, I get it. Yeah, I get it. They're drumming and they're racing. I get it. So basically it's like who's first? OK, And your point is like literally my my brain just. I would love for it, like for you to be at the finish line and when they're like freaking exhausted and like you're like, so proud of themselves. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I get what you did so.
Yeah, yeah, exactly. I mean, I, I get it. Like, you put your effort, you're exhausted. You really trained hard. I I on paper it all sounds great dude. And your point is? Why aren't you worried that someone will tell you also? So what's your point? Like you know I'm not when you're like not impressed by anything. What the fuck are you up? To but that's the thing, like I've never done it because like I hope that I'm impressed Now I'm like I did my shit. I'm going to go home now you
your laughter. I think that was the whole point. I gave you this, you gave me that. But good. Right, right. So it's like. So for you everything is like a transaction, like an exchange. It's like basically it's I, I, I like to know the point, right? You know, like I'm like, you go hike. I'm like, I, I get it. Like the point is to him enjoy the environment and all that time I, you know, I'm, I'm enjoying it. So like, I've I've enjoyed it.
Like, wait, we keep enjoying it. OK, so I've enjoyed it again. Yeah. Is that it? Right. So we're just doing the same thing repeatedly. Well, I guess for the dragon boating people, it's also like the adrenaline and we're like, who's going to win? Yeah, yeah. Oh, no, it's exciting, I'll give you that. I mean, there is a certain excitement. Like let's say sometimes I watch people playing video games online. I'm like, oh, what's going to happen over here? It's exciting.
You don't know what's going to happen, but. I love that your example of a competition and like something that's high stage. Yeah, yeah, this video game. Because like YouTube will show me random let's like I'll watch one of these when I'm taking a break, right? But I think that's The thing is I'll see them do it And while they do it, I'm like all into like, come on, man, I can do it. And they finish, they get to the finish line. I'm like, oh, you did it. Can you move on to the next
thing, please? And then no, we have to, we have to savor the moment. I'm like, but you, you did it. You. Yeah, it's finished. It's over. Yeah, the moment is over. You, you savored it. We, we. So the action of I. Would love to see you at you. I know you don't care about getting married or whatever, but I would love to see your wedding because that that's the whole point of the wedding. It's like you get married in the
beginning. You're like when you only went and then and then there is like seven more hours. So you're going to send me like, yeah, you know. What the only thing that'll keep me going? Honestly like it make the whole thing into a long To Do List right? And like one after another, I got my take over here. But it is like that, though. You're actually, yeah, the couple like moving from one place. It is like a wedding planner, if you're fancy enough. And they're like, yeah, OK, now
you sit here. Now you stand there. Now the photo. Now you say hi to these people. Yeah, now we cut the cake. Now you serve the food or whatever. And what will bring me more joy is watching me get one step closer to the end of that list. Right. Like, it's not so much about, like, embracing the moment. I'm like, oh, I did this one thing while I'm almost there. I'm almost going to zero my list because, like, it's so ingrained in my head with the zero inbox. Yeah. Zero my me.
Too, actually, that's all it is yeah. I'm like what's that Zero? I'm like alright, I'm good yeah, yeah. So we we accomplished it like I'm so. You have no never have notifications like the little red notifications of some like notifications, let's say Facebook notifications. Oh hell no, man. Yeah, it's saying we're actually very similar. In this, yeah, no. And all my emails are always on zero. And it doesn't mean like they're like the deleted or whatever.
Like I open them, decide if they need to go or not immediately. So actually it's like if you really want my attention, like, which is why I'm also available online more than like even though I'm really busy, at least these days, I'm still available online. But it's actually not because I'm like, it's because of my OCD of like, oh, there is another. I have to answer this. Yeah, Yeah. But actually the trick is like, most of my groups are on mute. Yeah, Yeah. Because yeah.
Otherwise also it's going. Insane. Yeah, yeah, that and also I, I'm AI, don't know if anyone uses this. The getting things done, a system is basically called GTD. And way back, David Allen, I read his book and I'm like, oh, this really makes sense. And the idea is that you basically just have one long list of things to do and you go from the processing brain of that when the e-mail comes in, you got to process that, right? Yeah. Do I do something?
What I do, either you take action, get it done, or you delegate, give someone else or you say, OK, let's go on my To Do List and I'll get to it when I go to the monkey brain mode. Sure. So this is processing mode where you're not saying I got to do this as well because like when you're processing and you have to do it at the same time, you're like, I don't want to do it. Yeah, what do we skip it? But if I'm like, I'm not doing it now. I'm just going to put in my
list. And when I go to my list, then I just do it like a fucking monkey. And that's the idea. Then I get to my To Do List and like my brain is just like tick tick. It's not like, oh, I don't, how do I feel about I don't give a shit. Yeah, just get it done. I'm. Just a fucking laborer over there, huh? Yeah, yeah. That is. That is cool, yeah. And it's just, it's just you go to labour mode. It's like I nobody asked your opinion buddy. I'm also not cleaning your house.
It's like it's never Yeah, it's not fine. It's there's, there shouldn't be feelings about it. Yeah, it's like. The house like dusty. I'm going to clean it. I'm going to vacuum the floor. Exactly the end. Yeah, because if you're using feelings when you're doing it, you're like, I don't feel like doing it. You know what's fine? Let's not do it, right? There was no option. Yeah, if you have you have you got put feelings in the equation, Yeah. Exactly.
Yeah. So some work needs to have feelings about how do I want to do it, what's the best way we're thinking about? And once you get that sorted out, the actual action just fucking deadpan monkey work. Yeah, that's that's. I mean, Jerry Stanford once said, right, The the mind is like a dog. It's just a. It's just. Yeah, you gotta train it. Train it. And what is train it you can do? It's just a stupid dog.
Yeah. The brain, on the other hand, is like the one that could do all the magic, but the mind is just like, yeah, whatever, just tell me what to do. I'll do it. Right. Yeah. Yeah. You know, that kind of thing. So he he divided very well. That's very true. You got that two sides and it's a lot of people say the same thing, right. Be thinking the the more philosophical brain versus the actual action brain, the logical, all that stuff. Yeah. So yeah, there's a lot of that.
But again, the the thing for me is that the whole process of this, the wedding or even in general, like I just thoroughly enjoyed just being able to go back to the thing. But like tick Oh this is. So good. Right, and one by one, just seeing that list go and like even my To Do List, I have like divided into different categories. And like when I get to the last thing in that category, I'm like, I got to get that done. I had to clear that category out.
When I clear the category off, I'm like, all right, and look at the other ones. I'm like, let's do this again. It's all over again, you know. So yeah, I think that's what it is for me. Hence why the whole maybe I've done that so much that it's become my ingrained default mode. So like, OK, they they competed, Tick, they've won tick. Why are you still winning? Like you, you, it's done. You won. Like it's like go to the ocean and look at the look at the beach. I'm like looking.
Yeah, look at the. Yeah, keep looking. It's not going to change. So this is this is. Repeating To Do List. This thing repeats. Why would I do that? Why would I have the thing that repeats? Right. Yeah, because the the the return is now diminishing, right. It's almost like going to zero at this. Point. So it's basically, so in other words, basically me tick coming back, tick coming back, it doesn't work for me. So what I have to do is then, OK, what is the duration of this to do item?
Oh, we finished at 10. I'm good with that. All right. Yeah, right. So now I just tick this off and put a timer for 10 minutes. I'm watching for 10 minutes and then I'm like 10s up. Let's go, you know? So it's good and bad. It's good as in like very organized, systematic discipline. Bad as in like you're technically not really in the moment? Yeah, because you're just waiting for the thing. You. Well, the moment you've finished it, you're going to the next moment, right?
Right. Yeah. But while I'm doing it, oddly enough, I'm very much in the moment, like when I'm doing that actual task. For example, let's say the task is. Make a. Hanging out with your girlfriend. Yeah, yeah, I'm really, I was straight into it, but I was like till 6:00 PM, all right. I'm 100% till 6:00 PM. I'm like, OK, I got to do. Yeah, you know, I said this many times over the years, but yeah, this woman is going straight to heaven. Because yeah, exactly. All this shit.
No, no, but it's alright. But how's so The last few days I've actually been quite crazy with the world of. Comedy. Yeah, man, it is. Yeah. The world of comedy in Hong Kong has Yeah. We've seen a lot of, like, big events. You had a really big YEAH. I mean, let's put it this way. If we had to draw a graph, it would be vertically very tall, horizontally very very very very minor because the the amount of comedy happening was entain, but the area of comedy was very minuscule.
Oh my God, it's crazy to the. Point like it cannot get any smaller. Like other than it being in the same place. We were both literally walking distance away to the point that these two places are the interconnected actually actually entrances from both sides.
Yep. So you were at the Grand Hyatt in the regular Lips bar, and then I was at the Convention Center, literally in the convention hall, which is attached next to the Grand Hyatt, doing an opening for Jason Young, his show while he was in Hong Kong. Yeah, you're, you're Yeah, the photos look amazing. Oh. It's very cool. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I mean, lucky for me, man, like my other camera fucked up like, so you know me, right?
Backup of backups. Sure. So, Jason, hey, at the end, though, can we take the group photo you did last time? I'm like, I have no problem. I have my my action camera and my 360, the action camera's better resolution. So I'm like, I'm going to take my action camera this time. And before we get the show ends, I'm like, I'm getting a backup. I got my 360 out. I was like, I'm putting there if I guess it, I guess it doesn't get the weather right. And thankfully it did 'cause
like just went out. So I had my 360 camera taking photos every three seconds. The action cameras, when I press the button on my phone, obviously I get the action camera, everything is good. I press the button, it doesn't fucking work on my phone. Oh no, I did this. Everyone there, 1000 people. Yeah, I was like plan two or three, you know, I got it. I'm like, oh shit, that did breaks. It didn't happen right?
And then I was like, hey, I Jason, how about we countdown the other way 321 because I had this whole bit about this girl looking at a plate of food and counting down. Take a photo, right? 321 I'm like, no, no, no, we should do 321, right? Just basically an excuse to have him Crouch down with the little V sign and people in the back still holding that pose hoping my 360 camera gets the shot and then at that time my action camera gets the shot. But by the time we already started getting.
Up. Oh my God. Yeah, luckily I went back on my eye. The 360 looks good. If you actually go to my funny Vivek Instagram or Facebook, you will see that photo. Actually I'm looking upwards. Because you're looking at the other camera. The other camera and Jason actually just has his eyes blink, like right there, but it's it's not clear enough where, you know, he's blinking. Yeah. Then I was just like, OK. Well, the resolution on these cameras is not amazing anyway.
Yeah, yeah. And plus Instagram even more so. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So OK, this works to my favorite this time, right? But I was like, I was like, so stressful, right? I know, right? But I was like, oh man, I this is the one time I appreciate the fact that I have this like, oh, unnecessary, like, oh, I have to have a backup. Backup. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So that worked. Out, yeah, like this is like one of the, yeah, one of the bigger
gigs you have done. Yeah, it was like run down seats, Yeah, big hall and everything. And it was cool because like after the show finished, I opened and it was just his doing, him doing an hour. He has his meet and greets. MMM And he's on stage, right? People lining up and there's a long ass line of people coming up, right? Which is fine, I don't have to do anything 'cause they have their own people taking pictures. MMM. And I'm at the other side of the stage and some people, hey, can
we take a photo with you? I'm like, oh, cool. And that's pretty much getting the leftovers of people who basically either didn't want to line up on his side and wanted to wait or finish his photo. They had to pass by me. And they're like, I guess, yeah, take a photo. With you, I'm like, I'm like, oh, you want to take a photo of me? I'm the opener. They're like, OK, well. It's also like your position yourself from a place where it's so awkward for them to be like,
I'm just gonna pretend, yeah. Yeah, yeah, I came in late. I didn't see yourself whatever, you know, but I, I didn't specifically cause like the side that people were getting on was one side of the stage. I was on the other side 'cause I, I had to put my cameras and everything away. I didn't happened to want to be able to take photos. And I was like, oh, this is working out. Yeah, yeah. So I was over there doing that. And yeah, I was just, it was just insane.
Cause like right before the show, Jason was like, I want, I want coke or something, right. And I'm like, hold on a second. I, I'm not your manager. Yeah, nor the show. Producer. Oh yeah, you are actually. Yeah, you're just the opening act. And I'm not, I'm just literally a friend. He's like, hey, you want to open it? I'm like, yeah, sure. You know, I'm like, oh you, I need an opening act. He's like, no, hey, could you help me out? Yes, yes.
And I'm saying I'm over there going like fucking fine. I go all the way out in my shorts and T-shirt. Go yeah, because this time he yeah, there is no one like on the ground, no one on the ground. Is there anyone from Clock and flap helping? Clock and flap people were running, but they weren't even just doing the productions. Right. They're not really like helping out. There was some. Snacks in the room, but he wanted Coke and I'm like, yeah, I guess there's.
No actual point. Like yeah, there is no someone who can get stuff faster you. Can, but it's it's, I don't think that's their job and it's kind of like, fuck it, you know, at that point I'm like, that's fine. I was going to get it right. And it's just bizarre because I'm like I, I the I went out to get a burger. I came back and he said, hey, could you give me a coke? I'm like, bitch, you know what a phone is, what a phone is?
I'm like, fine, yeah, I went and got him a Coke and then I bumped into some of his audience when I was when I was going out to get his. Who knew that you would be opening? Like people didn't know I was opening. I know there was no announcement. Because you didn't know the shows last year, actually. Yeah. So a lot of people didn't even know. Yeah, that I guess because this were like the bigger shows and a lot of them came back this year. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Which means yeah, they didn't even know. Yeah, you're opening the start. They didn't really. There was no real official announcement of that so it was alright. And also like his crowd are not, not all of them are regular comedy crowds. Sure. So they were like, oh, OK, there's a OK, let's check this out. You know, they might have heard of me and stuff. They're like, oh, oh, that's yeah, I've heard of this guy, you know, and I'm like, you haven't seen me.
It's like, oh, I've heard of you. I'm like, OK, good. Let's do this. Yeah. So but then it was, it was just bizarre because like, he wanted that stuff. And I'm outside, I'm walking past his audience going like, some of them look at me, some of them don't. And I'm like, this is going to be so weird when they see me later on. Oh, shit. That's the, you know, the guy just woke pie ass. Yeah, yeah, yeah, it's really weird, man. But yeah, all that stuff. It was, it was a lot of fun.
And then it was also good to just basically see, I feel that crowd, that huge crowd that, you know, that roaring. Yeah, I know. Whoa, that is really cool. Yeah, so there was that as well. So that is actually on that night, I have to say, even though you think I was an IA, my gig was at the Hyatt. I wasn't at the Hyatt actually. So I wasn't, I wasn't physically, Yeah, in the same building my gig was, and Annie was running it that night.
Yeah, so Annie's in the Grand Hyatt running the lip show. Yes, I'm next to a Convention Center. Pretty much the same quote UN quote helping. Yeah, Jason will get his fucking coke and then Hope helping by getting this crowd to go like, okay, yeah, we're ready. Yeah. And then yeah. And then you. I was emceeing the 50th anniversary of the football club section, or the football section rather, of the Kowloon Cricket Club. Yeah, that's the gangster man to have like a football section in
the cricket. Club. Yeah, like. Fuck your ball. I know my own. It's so cool. Yeah, a 50th anniversary too, by the way. Like yours? That shit are like sticking up to the cricketers. Yeah, I'll be like, oh, your ball's so hard it hurt you on your own. Yeah, when it hits US, it's part of the game, bitch. Yep. Yeah, Wow. Yeah, yeah. It was. It was very, very cool. It was because it's the 50th. So they kind of like lambed it up, like they did it up.
It was a theme. The theme was black and gold. Yeah, yeah. So it was like everyone was dressed up like really nicely. And it's obviously like a private member's club, so there's a lot of like, fancy. People, they came and they were like shimmering, shimmering, all that stuff, Yeah. There's like, you know, full menu of food and full program. And there's also menu or western menu. It's a western menu. OK, OK. Yeah, so like few courses only really. Yeah, a few courses menus like
non-stop serving. No, no. But because also I was involved in that, like the planning of the event, we had to time it. So there's not so many courses Actually the appetizers, like we condense them a bit so that people have like tour like a soup and appetizer. At the same time, Yeah, yeah, yeah. Don't wait. Yeah. Otherwise, yeah, because otherwise it's also like 120 people. Yeah, yeah. So it's like 1012 tables of 10. Yeah, usually it takes at least
a minute per table. So that's like 1215 minutes right there. Gone. Yeah. But there's also, like, kids, like, it's a football club, like all ages Kids like, like teenagers. OK. OK. So they're also like, like, they have a lot of energy. And actually at some point in the middle of the event, I kind of rile them up too much. Yeah. And they came in and like all like running, like jump, literally jumping on stage. I'm like, that is totally my fault. Can you? There's like 15 of them.
Can you? What was your cue that caused them to run to the stage? Well, they had basically won something and I'm like, yeah, like I was just kind of like, yeah, guys. And then one of them started running to me like as if he's like on a football pitch as a joke. And I'm like, and I started like dancing with him. So all of his mates thought it's OK to just come and like do a thing on stage. I was completely unplanned and all the old people were like,
shit. And then I'm like, all right, everyone, kids get up. Just like a moment of like old man got like shoot, shoot. Enough of this young. Yeah. Yeah, exactly. And I'm like you young whippersnapper. And then it was great. Like they were having like everyone was having fun. But you also like I ran an auction, which was really cool. Football heads in the audience or from listeners. There was one jersey signed by Osaka who plays for Arsenal, like current like jersey from
this year. We were all we're auctioning off stuff for charity for a charity called Sprouts that helps children, underprivileged children and the football club works with them. But just the whole event was like, it was very good to have like to be involved in from start to end because you kind of know what was going to happen. But at the same time. DMC man, you're in full control. You decide. Exactly.
But at the same time also they wanted to stand up, which I am fine with, except that, you know, I, I decided just made a call and I'm like, let's hope for the best that most of my standards going to be roasting people because they're like, you know, they're going to take themselves a little seriously. I'm like, let's just roast them. And I met the head who hired me a few times, like just give me some information on everyone
else. And yeah, it ended up being like, you know, I was doing like a segment of like 20 minutes in the beginning, 15 minutes of them were just roasting like the heads of basically every section. And that was so much fun because I'm roasting people who I've never met just based on the information that they like that person gave me. And yeah, that was great. That was also just like the no, because I did it very up top.
So like this was just sold to them as like, even if this doesn't go well, we're just warming up. We're just getting like, to know each other breaking, Yeah, breaking the eyes kind of thing. And that was when that went well. I'm like all right, this. One's really easy, yeah. And also it's good 'cause like their own people, they own each other.
So when you make fun like. So I got there, I got a lot of like inside jokes, which of course they really appreciate it, even though it looks like it's like of course, from their point of it, it looks like I did a lot of homework, but actually got like almost. So for example, one of them like had acted like a quote, UN quote entrepreneur who just like no one knows what he does really. And he travels the world a lot.
So literally when I said like, this person, does anyone know what who his job is that only got like, yeah, like, you know, you're traveling is not a job, right? And everyone was like, yeah, you parked in son of a bed. Stop traveling. And I'm like, everyone in this room is so jealous of you. Yeah, yeah, exactly. Yeah. Nice. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Because they're like, Oh yeah, exactly. Saying what I'm thinking.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. And there's a lot of Cindy's actually in the room, like maybe like 2030% were Cindy's like, you know, just like rich Indian uncles. Yeah. So I also like started trashing because I had a suit made. So I talked about the place where I got the suit from. But then I said I read a Google review from the place where I got the suit from. Actually Google review this. My suit was great. Like, I like my suit, but the place has some bad reviews.
One of them actually said like, I went to ask for my shirts that I bought and when they couldn't find it and I started yelling at them, they chased me outside the shop with a baseball bat. Like, okay, that's how much I risked. I got my suit from this place so I could do this event. But then I also said, like, I had to go there because my other choice was Sam's Taylor. Yeah. And I got, like, booze from everybody to Times Taylor, which was great. Yeah. Yeah. So everyone's like, yeah,
there's some of it, like. This guy's taking all business, yeah. Yeah, yeah, no, they actually don't like him because he's just a fucking creep, man. The creep. Yeah, yeah, it's just weird. Like, but even among that community is no one. Like, I think it's very kind of like, yeah, yeah. I mean, dude, it's just like I said, he's I'm still surprised how people are willing to still go to him. I'm. Like I know. How are you and having the boyfriend stand there watching
governing and growth toy? How is this OK? Yeah, it's fucking weird. Yeah, Yeah. And you get like sometimes, like you open the comments and the people was like, yeah, like when he doesn't like spank people, people were like, where is the treatment? And he's like, you're encouraging him. It's so. Weird, that's what I mean. Like, you know, you lots of attraction, right, So you'll get all the people who are into this kind of stuff to watch the thing. But hey man, do it to the next
one. Yeah, I would love watch the boyfriend suffer. I I was really disappointed in comedian Tom Segura because he came when he came this time, he's the one who actually made him famous the first time. Well, one of the people who made him famous because he, like, talked about it on the show or whatever, was like, oh, there's a state or in Hong Kong. And he didn't like back then, Sam was not as bad, but he was like, he's weird and like, he
would say something funny. Now he's like, out of his mind. Yeah. But then he came back this year and he still went back and did a video with him. And it's like, did did anyone from your team tell you that this guy's fucking? Maybe you didn't look at his Instagram, but someone should have. Yeah, you're huge. Yeah. Why are you encouraging this? Man, why? Yeah. Why do you like promoting?
Because every now and then when I do rarely open the face to Facebook, whatever, I'll get like a video where he has like, let's see football stars. I'm like, I'm like, yeah, I get it. It's probably, like I said, it's one of those things that, oh, we've heard this is the only one we've heard of. They're not researching anything about it. Like, you know, I get my thing, whatever. I'm like, you know what, at this point in life, you're kind of like, dude, doesn't matter.
Someone's going to support the wrong side. Like, yeah, fine, get your damn suit. Yeah, It's just weird, man. I don't. And The thing is, I guess because he does have too much power, so therefore he's like, I'm working. You can't touch me. You can do shit to me. I mean, I guess also like, I don't know about the legality of the thing. I guess if they're all like actual adults, you can't really do much. I mean, I'm sure it's some sort of consent that's this whole
thing, right? So much consent, so much consent or whatever. Having but then again, he could probably have the video and be like, yeah, you see that That's the boyfriend watch your girlfriend girlfriend smiling. So this is probably fine, you know, So I guess that will hold up in court where they're like, yeah, she's actually smiling and laughing. But you can, I'm sure she's kind of like, I'm on camera. This is this OK? Well, I'm in two minds about this because in one hand you
would want this to stop. On the other hand, it is a slippery slope if you'll be like, OK, maybe you can stop him on the grounds of, like, corrupting morality or whatever. But this is also if you give government this power. Yeah, this is kind of a slippery slope when you go like, yeah, like we now decide what's what's what's good. Yeah, what's more, whatever. But it's like it's, it is fucked up, you know? Dude, yeah, I know. It's, I don't know, man. Like I see this every now and
then. I'm just like, what is more fucked up to me is just the fact that people are allowing that to happen. I mean, like, I'm not saying like you should be, you know, reporting and I'm saying that people actually go to the Trump. Yes, I agree. It's like the best, the best kind of like way to fight this. This is just boycotting. Yeah, like, really just like start like a hashtag. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But even if so, it's kind of, I'm sure something like, yeah,
but I do want to get groped. It's like, okay, fine. Yeah, but and I'm sure he's expanding. I didn't look at the prices, but like with this much like, yeah, yeah, he's expensive. It's like. Yeah, so it's like, you know what? You do you people. Yeah, but I, I was cool to see like the Cindy like like community like unanimous like this. Everyone was like groaning him like going like no, fuck this guy too much.
Yeah, but yeah, the yeah, I mean the, the hosting stuff like this is, is really fun for for us, for me at least, because you also get to like practice a different skill, which is like not just like doing stand up or whatever or everything, but you also get to practice controlling the room and kind of like running. It's almost like just like, yeah, being in charge of the you just and the rhythm of what happens. And yeah, I would, I would love to do more of these. You were, obviously.
I've been doing this for years. And I mean the coolest part also is that when you take those breaks and you come back on says, Hey, everyone, I'm back all what's been going on? You you turn the energy back up and of course you get a lucky draw. The raffles up is fun when they cheer like. Yeah, yeah. So we had. Yeah, I had people buying raffle tickets and I would have people like guests from the room to come, like pick the tickets and I would announce them and stuff.
But yeah, like the fact that everyone, like I also encouraged them. They told me there are still tickets left and I just like at some point I just stood the stage and bullied them into buying all of the tickets and that was really cool when you finished all the tickets. I bought some myself. Yeah, yeah, I give you stack. Yeah, I went like, yeah, exactly. I went like, I'm like, I'm I'm going to go buy some.
So that actually encouraged some people to go buy some because like we established that I was the poorest person in the room. So the fact that I'm going to buy something as well, like kind of shamed them. A little bit. This is disgusting that you're not getting any more. Yeah, yeah, and yeah, yeah. Collected a lot of money for the charity, auctioned off a bunch of stuff.
But this wasn't even that like the, the biggest thing the night before that, which was so this night was the same night as Jason Leon's show the night before that Annie was actually hosting again, the Australian Chamber of Commerce event. That's actually kind of How I Met her last year, because she was. Also known as the Australian. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. This training Inver. Comments yeah, yeah, so that's that's why she was in Hong Kong last year doing that the floor
and. So wait, you're saying so she flew in for that? You met her, met up with her and all that stuff. OK, so last. Year. Yeah. Yeah, Exactly. Exactly. But you were not invited to the event, obviously. Last year now, but I I did go at the end because we had already met. So I went to like the, like the party. Yeah. So this year I also went this this year I actually went as a sponsor too, because I gave tickets from backstage. Yeah. So this year I was officially
invited. I was at the dinner. I was at the whole thing. Did you wear your suit? I did actually, no, I had saved that suit for the next day. I had a suit already, but but I I was dressed up nicely. I did not wear the proper full suit. I didn't wear the jacket though, the jacket of that suit, but I was a little bit more like that's. What I normally do just the Blazer is great. Just the blazer. Exactly.
But the cool thing is like, yeah, I got to see the event from start to end and it was fantastic. But also there was a special guest of honor who we knew is going to like going to be there. He was on the program, but I didn't know how the formalities of it was. And it's your friend John Lee. Hey, yeah, that's right. Hey, old Lee. Hey, what's up?
Johnny Boy. Johnny Boy getting all the announcements of like, please welcome the Hong Kong Special Administrator Region Chief Executive, just the Honorable Johnny JPP SSP. Yeah, what? What are all these like? I didn't bother. I have any it. Was on the screen behind him. You have to. Give all. I don't know. It's some, you know, it's one of those titles like Doctor DRGP. P Yeah, yeah. Shit, I'm like dude, honestly? Is this all his degrees?
No, it's not degrees. I think it's just honors that you get, you know, like you do these things or you like you get to this level in society. You, you know, like, like Sir, this Sir, you know, I kind of think it's just another one of those. Yeah. And like, The thing is this like for someone like us who don't even who are too ignorant to know what that stuff is, right. Like, it's for me, I kind of go like, yeah, but it's BDSM. Yeah. Yeah.
BDSM exactly. SOS and whatever you want to call it. Yeah. Like I'm just like one RSVP. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, SOSRS. VP, you know, MVP of Hong Kong. Exactly MVP exactly right. But I I just kind of like. Why is this all behind the name? Shouldn't it be all before the name? The honorable Dr. SOSMVP, blah, blah, blah, blah. John, you know the GOAT, exactly
the GOAT, all that stuff, right. You know, the G1, the F1, the whatever you want to call it. Yeah, it's just, and it's just like sometimes you have to stay on the SSBBB GB A I'm like, what the what is what is the necessity of this man? Yeah, honestly, I, I there was, there were parts that like I, I was sitting there kind of reflecting when the whole thing
that was happening. First of all, yeah, I'm sure like someone from security, whatever had access to like the guest list, like obviously it's under control. Yeah. Yeah. But also, I can tell that everyone was so relaxed, like in terms of like, this is the head of state. And I think what my comparison here is to my own country where I was actually thinking about it as he was like entering. So there was like, not even a grand entrance, but of course,
stand up for our guest of honor. And you know that the consul general is bringing him in. And there was a bit of delay as well. So it was funny because the lady that the head of us, Chan was like on stage going like, right, please stand up. I like. And the music playing and that is not coming. Yeah. Yeah, yeah. That happened for like 4 minutes. Yeah. Yeah. There was a lot of like, all right, everyone.
And then I can see the other lady by the door, like kind of like looking outside and like kind of like, we'll give her the OK. But she gave her the thumbs up like three times. And every time it's like, all right, everyone please. And but she had a good sense of humor because the second time she's like, all right, that was a good practice round. And then people laughed. But then it happened again. But this lady and I want to be like this fucking. It's not her fault.
It's the other lady's fault. She keeps going like thumbs up and stop doing that. Yeah, Make. She's getting there, man. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Because I know that you from what I've done, the gigs that you have to announce his arrival like yes, yeah, must be announced, of course, you know, So that's why they probably said the consul general to announce obviously the most vulnerable way to. No, no, the consul general was walking him in. Oh, it was actually the lady who
says the head of this. Party. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah, you're right. Because the country has got to got to welcome and sure and meet and greet. Yes, yes, yes. So they come from the VIP section. We are at the Conrad Hotel. Yeah, yeah. So which actually, not actually that far from from the whole complex of yeah, yeah, yeah. The exhibition. Center And so with the Conra Hotel, they've never been there. First of all, they have that big grand.
Should I even said the Coronado? I guess you can find the information online and it passed already. Yes, passed safe now. Yeah, yeah. So like without it has that really grand staircase that you come down and it's usually like, you know, wedding couples. They Walker, please welcome miss me shit. And then you've always got the VIP coming in. Whatever. And clearly he must have been like slowly walking through there.
But of course, like the problem is like he can't rush down it and like even though he sees the doors open, he has to walk in his normal, you know, government pace. Yes, like I'm getting there and they're like, I see him. He's he just he just did the stairs. Thumbs up. He's like, yeah, the stairs are like fucking 2 minutes. Away. They're far away, actually. Yeah. It's a big grind, yeah. It's a big grand like foyer kind
of thing, right? And I because I know exact space very well and I'm just like, yeah, I'm sure she must be like, Oh yeah, yeah, he he's here. Don't thumbs up me then. Only when he's at the entrance, you know, like, oh, he went down and said thumbs up, no. That's just wait, yeah. Dude wait until he's outside the door, then thumbs up, then please welcome. Yeah, but yeah, even though, you know, I'm sure they had information on everyone in the
room, whatever, it didn't feel. And again, I'm reflecting on like what I, what it would be like back home. And I was actually telling, I met with the guys from Beirut Bistro after for a snack and they're from Lebanon.
And I was telling them that about our night and actually said, like, if you come from a country like mine, there is not a chance in your entire life, zero chance, when you'll be not just in the same room as the head of state, but in fact, you'll never see him in person if you are in a normal person like myself. Yeah, yeah, yeah. If you're not. Ridiculous. Yeah. Yeah, yeah.
And it's actually to this point, even if you do something, it's not a good thing that you're in the same room with him because that means you're sold out. Because that means you're actually like, if you're in the, if you're approved to be in the head of state in the presence of the head of state, that means you're like completely gone. And you're like the you're a
government shell base. And all the, even the celebrities that I respect that are all now they're like, you know, would attend events with the president. They're all just fucking like sellouts. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, absolutely. Yeah, yeah. So I, I think that's the bizarre thing with life in general. Like when you get big enough like you get the approach by these like. Yeah, what? The fuck you do, you know?
But I liked how casual it was here because I'm like, I'm saying like I was thinking like, should I be? Yeah, weird. Who am I to? Be yeah, I'm I'm going there. I did sponsor, but I'm also like a raffle sponsor, not like, yeah. Exactly. You know, gold sponsor. Yeah, yeah, you know, your logo's at the bottom corner of the backdrop. Right. Yeah, yeah. You know, with the title sponsor, gold sponsor, the way you Nope. Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's always some bad.
Yeah, so I'm like, and also I was again, I was impressed that no one came to be like, because, you know, first of all, if this event, I was just thinking if this event is back home and there is like a guy like me who's like our tiny sponsor or whatever, someone would just come and actually physically like search you. You have to be searched. Everybody in the room has to be searched.
But also you might just be like, if you just look like, because I was sitting kind of by myself in the corner at the beginning, someone would be like, hey, who the fuck are you? But I saw his security like kind of passing by. But honestly, everyone was so relaxed that it felt like they'd
really trust people here. His his also his presence was announced, which in my experience, which should be a heightened security because people will know where he was, but it wasn't Security was everywhere, but it didn't feel intimidating. No one was in uniform. There was like a couple of guys in suits or whatever. There was obviously like the earpiece guys and the the undercover cops, which I can see because I grew up with them. Yeah, like kind of a police household.
I can tell. Look, yeah, even the guys who are like literally in T-shirts, I'm like yeah, that's a cup. Yeah, like I can just. I can tell. Yeah. But it still again felt and through this point he also any because she was the MC of the whole evening. She was sat on table one with basically the VIPs and they had like the the console general. Okay, so basically, so clearly John Lee would be facing the
stage. Okay, let's just see your table facing the stage, okay yeah he was obviously in the seat that's facing the stage, yes, and furthest away from the stage, that seat. Yeah, my point. So he's at 6:00. Okay, yeah, yeah, Where was Annie sitting on the. Clock at 3:00. Really. Yeah, yeah. Between him and her is like, maybe, like maybe two, yeah, maybe 2:00. That's weird, man. It, it was wild. She didn't know because they didn't have his name in the beginning.
He kind of changed it. Yeah. Yeah. Exactly. So when he's like, yeah, like just two minutes before he came or whatever. And then you could see, like, the staff, like, scrambling to like, put, you know, make sure their force are like, perfect. He might have his own cutlery or whatever. Oh yeah, yeah. So I'm sure he has a rider. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I like, because I'm pretty sure. OK.
So purely from my experience is that they will not put his name tag on the table until his arrival #1 because should he not show up, number one, Number two, that doesn't let you know where exactly he's going to sit. So you can't get your sniper to get ready, you know? You know, So you can't plan stuff until you know where he's going to exactly sit. Yeah, Yeah. That's like so standard. But yeah, but again, like as like I knew who is the MC of the
evening. She wasn't asked anything at all about like, you know, who is your political effort? Like nothing if and I'm just like thinking like, if this is back home, man, the MC would be fucking with the government already for a week. You're just going to go and like, all right, let's go through your phone. Let's go through your life for you to be approved or something like this and for him to just come like he came, you know,
blah, blah, blah. And he just sat on the table with her like he decided last minute. I'm like what the fuck? Is this he taking that? I'm like 4 tables away. I'm like I'm losing my mind. I'm like what the fuck is going on? Here, let me let me let me give you a counter argument and blow your conspiracy theory mind. Yeah, the reason why there's not much security because they already know everything. Yeah, right. Yeah, let's be honest.
Yeah, I mean, in Egypt the technology is not that good. Yeah, in Hong Kong it's waste. Ridiculously good. I you know what I I genuinely like, I know you're half joking, half not, but I was also like texting my friends that I'm in the same room with John Lee. I'm like, maybe I should stop doing that because there's probably something is listening like monitoring texts for sure and I'm. Like someone like, you know, John Lee is in the room.
I'm sitting over there like, why does he need to tell you his position? What's? Going on exactly for sure, man. Yeah, So I actually did genuinely stop texting after all because that thought crossed my mind. Or like, I should stop. Like, I wasn't like saying anything ridiculous anyway, but I'm like, Oh yeah. Why, why even getting the red
alert kind of a deal. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I, I think that's The thing is that for me, I've done enough of these gigs where you get high level officials and it's like nothing special to me anymore. Number one, I've never been the authority like, oh wow, this guy's I'm like, I don't give a shit. You know, your job allows to do that. That's pretty much all I I noticed, right. However, yes, the protocol is very annoying and and sometimes you.
I remember specifically the Hong Kong Science Park 20th anniversary one where I had to announce his entrance. Oh, wow, that is a lot of pressure. That's a lot of pressure. And like the Cantonese and I'm the. I am the one announcing it. Like my partner's not doing. I'm doing. I'm like, OK, yeah, this is the beginning of the show. Who? Briefed you. The the Science Park people, but we. Oh, so it's not like it's someone even.
From his team? Oh no. Basically because, like, they would approve the script and I'm sure they'll send it to him knowing what's going on, so they'll know how he's introduced and whatever, right. And the whole thing is that we did rehearsal after rehearsals, like, because like science past government thing anyway. So they're like, freaking the shit out. Of course they will be like, I want to book you two days.
Yeah. At least US champ, they're like, it's like a foreign country that still has like, you know, even if the fuck up, someone can clean it up or whatever. It's not a country, you know exactly. It's not a government, It's not a honking government. It's a diplomacy thing, yeah. But yeah, obviously the government for workers here would be like losing their
minds. If this is a government funded thing and then you fuck it up, it's like dude, no. And in general, people here like especially government workers, like they are like playing like they're, they're very much like pro, like following the rules, right? Obviously, Yeah, yeah, that's the job entails that and also number two, yeah. But these protocols, because the thing by like, let's see, I as the MC fuck up, right. And who are they going to point the finger to?
The person who's in charge? Yeah. The person in charge is like, dude, you know, you lose that shit because I, I technically, the government technically can't touch me. Yeah, they'll be like, why'd you hire him? Why'd you get this guy? Why didn't you breathe him enough? I'm like, whoa, shit, You know, because there's always that one point person you'll get. Yeah, But I mean, the the cool thing though, is that obviously people stand up, clap, shake
hands, all that stuff. But yeah, I can give you that. John definitely has a vibe of like just a little friendly guy, you know? So actually to that point, we we like Annie had asked earlier, like if I if she's going to shake hands with him and basically like they had a bit of back and forth and the answer was no. And because she wasn't like she was going to start emceeing after he leaves. So there is. Actually, he doesn't really know. So she wasn't doing the opening MC before he was.
There. No, no, no, no, no, no. It was the last champ, Lady. Yes, OK, OK. They wanted to make sure like OK, don't fuck this. Up. Yeah, don't fuck this up. Yeah. Which is whatever. However, when he gave his speech, you know, there is like that that there's that Lady who was in charge and then there's the consult general and then the the other guy and then John Lee. Yeah, he's welcome speech. But then and then there is a toast like they have like a cake and whatever it stays on.
But then then they actually ask everyone from, like, the VIPs to get on stage. Yeah. So that was including Annie, so. She goes on stage as well. She got on stage and then he just went around shaking hands with everybody. Yeah, exactly. To your point, she was told she's not going to shake his hand. Yes. But he's the one. She was like, he was. She even messaged me. She's like, he came to me. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. And I'm like, oh, that's cool.
Yeah. Yeah. And then, like, gave it came like, because, you know, they do the little, like, ceremonial toast. Yeah, yeah, Yeah. And then she was like, he just put his hand up and I'm like, oh, that's cool. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I mean, that's what I mean. As in even though as much as like his his look, yeah, he's a fucking asshole look with that, with those eyebrows, with the reverse reverse V eyebrows like that kind of look looks. Like Chinese milhouse? Yeah, yeah, exactly.
Yeah, you can tell when he speaks and stuff, you can see his eyes. Has the whole like and your points as well. Yeah. You can feel. Like he does actually have like, you know how like Seinfeld, like answers like Jerry Seinfeld in real life answers every question. Like he thinks you're so fucking dumb. With this. Yeah, yeah, yeah, exactly. It only has the same of like, kind of like, yeah, condescending kind of faces. His face is condescending as hell. Condescending.
I am pretty nice. Very nice guy. That's. I mean, in that sense at least, Yeah. But yeah, I remember seeing him before and I'm just like, this guy just had to look. He's like, well, it's very simple. Hong Kong is a great city and he's like, Jesus Christ, Yeah, yeah, dude, like now you're just being an asshole, but yeah, but he's generally seeing the honkers. A nice city, but his face gives a whole like fuck you ignorant pieces of. Shit, Yeah, yeah.
Hong Kong, a goddamn nice city, Yeah, is your loss for not coming here. You should be here. Smell more, asshole. Yeah, yeah, he has very much like yeah, what are you, stupid? Yeah, like you people are beneath me. Yeah. Even though I'm here saying I'm extremely humbled by everyone here, but you can feel like I think he's being sarcastic. Yeah. His look does not look humble at all. His look has the whole like I am here because I'm so humbled by your shit.
I yeah, but I got the same feeling from him. Is that like, yeah, he seems like a pretty. Yeah, I mean I compared to Caroline cuz I've never, I've done 1 gig before. She was chief executive where she was in the audience and I had to do a set and it was for like, I think a construction association, something that is a new set. And you could tell she's sitting there and people are like, she's just like, yes, I'm good.
Yeah. They kind of look, you know how you have the you say something and your eyes kind of sell my clothes, the eye, like, yeah, that kind of thing. I just totally censored. I'm on stage performing. I'm watching her. She's like. Yeah, yeah, she's not going to give you anything.
Like the problem is that there's a little bit of similarity with my whole in the beginning of today's podcast, we were talking about how like I'm like looking at the dragon boat guys and go like, you won So. And yeah, the point is, yeah, exactly. I have a bad thing. She's probably thing to say. You said the joke. It's funny. And the point and yeah, fuck bitch, laugh. Now you know how people feel talking, dealing with you. Laugh dude. Like I I don't I get you. I get yeah, yeah it.
Is funny, I'm not denying that. Yeah, but can't you laugh with that? Like. And the point is, what have not acknowledged your humor? It's like, Oh my God. Go back to the football gig, one of the there was one of the heads of the divisions used to be a winger. Like a winger is a position in OH. OK. Oh, yeah. Oh, that's a swinger. OK. Go on. Yeah, Yeah, I know a winger. Yeah. It's a position in the football team, the guy who delivers crosses, basically, Yeah, into the box.
As compared to the guy who delivers crosses back in Jesus day. Exactly. Delivered the cross that I was very happy, you know? He's like, you take this shit. It's heavy, man. Think of the Amazon like Amazon four year. Yeah. Yeah, exactly. I mean, for, you know, hey, maybe it might have been an IKEA cross again. Yeah. You could have been yourself. Could have been very, very like horns and shit. Yeah, no wonder. Like actually it might have been actually just bad carpentry.
I mean, let's be honest. Yeah, yeah. He used to be a winger, like he's now a bit older, like 60 plus, so he doesn't play football anymore, but he does work for an airline. So one line I wrote about him that I'm proud of, I said this man used to deliver crosses. Now he only delivers people's lost luggages and because he's like such a high level guy. And again, it's like when you rose the people. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So he was like, give me like a frowny look.
And I was like, yeah. Punchy, completely upwards. They're like, yeah, you got him. Yeah. But yeah, like, it's very, very busy in Hong Kong. However, also people left for the weekend of like, including today, the day of this record of the episode comes out. It's still like Dragon's Boat Day. And a lot of people are in Thailand like. I mean, Jason didn't ask me, like, do people leave?
I'm like, you know what? It's, I don't think Dragon Boat Day is enough of a thing where like, Oh yeah, everyone's gone. Yeah. But of course, yeah, people. It's a long weekend. Right. Yeah, but I mean like. And also the weather has been shipped, right? Yeah, that's true actually. Yeah, I never put that into account. Yeah, think of that. But yeah, this is that shitty typhoony rainy that I guess get out of here. Yeah, yeah, I know a lot of people, Yeah.
Like, you know, you go to the classics, you go to Thailand, you go to Bali. Yeah, Japan now, because the yen's so shit. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Japan, Yeah, Japan now is so popular. I think I was reading some that is like, is it number two or three destination for Hong Kong? Like you, you gain completely with the yen just falling like that. Yeah, $100 giving you like way more money like I'm I'm going. Yeah, but then you probably have their own inflation. Hence why right?
So they bounce that off. So it's like they're suffering over there. Yeah, yeah, they're suffering let's all go there go support advantage, but I guess they would appreciate that us like going there and buying stuff I'm. Guessing that, isn't that how it bounces off Like people's size being when yen and yen kind of get stronger again? Yes, people. Want to buy? You're giving them foreign currency. Too, right.
So the idea is that because people didn't want to have yen, so the yen becomes cheaper and the more people want it because more expensive. So it's kind of that floating WAVY. Kind of thing that is true. Too expensive because people don't get it. Because that's cheaper. Yeah, same, same. I'm generally. Have you been Japan? Yeah. I've been, yes, not long enough to be like, I know completely a lot about it, but yeah, I've been there before. Yeah, I was in Hiroshi.
Not not recently, no. Not recently, no. No. Yeah, it's been a while, man. I do it. Am I travelling properly holiday wise dude? Get it man. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But no Japan. I'd love to go there, but I would love to be able to go there and be in a holiday mindset. I don't want to be in a work. Mindset Japan is probably my favorite country to visit. It's it just, it just feels, even though it's Asia, it just feels so different from everything else, including surround, including Korea.
It's just so different that you actually think. Like I think what is really cool about Japan is that you go there, you're like, oh, I really went somewhat foreign. That's actually a really good feel about their. Own little feel yeah it's. Just like it's doesn't look like anything. It's like people are not like anyone else. Yeah, every almost every store looks like it's just from another another planet. Yeah, anything. Anything is possible.
Like how does this always exist? Like this Japan dude. Yeah, exactly. Will support this kind of shit. Yeah. So in back in the Middle East, people always like, you know, you see those like little bit travel videos or whatever, people traveling in Japan and they always call it planet Japan, like they always. Have to spend the whole little world. Yeah. When? You go there just like you left the planet. Basically. True. Not sponsored by the Japan Home Store Tourism.
No, not Japan Tourist Board, but open to it. Yeah, if you would like to sponsor us, actually Speaking of sponsoring also since the last time we had the the episode, yeah, our video dropped. Yeah, the Samsung, the Samsung ad is on and did really, really well. Yeah, yeah. People responded. They were happy and like, yeah, people liked the whole idea. Like oh shit, this is actually this pretty good function that
you can do the translation. But also, people are talking about like, you know, like someone commented saying like we should be a series. They said, yeah, yeah, this point, that is not a series. I'm like, make it a series. Yeah, exactly. Call Samsung, you know. Call Samsung or call someone to to produce it for us. Yeah, exactly. It's fine, man. With the right phone in your hand, anything is possible. Yeah. Yeah, but that, that was a cool
experience as well. The fact that like the editing because we you're not involved in the editing process. It was basically the the people that did the video, they did the editing, but I was a middle person. So I had to deal with the agency and be like, oh, they want this, can you do that? But yeah, I had to put up a little bit of front of like, hey, you can't keep editing every little thing. Yes, but also it's most ways understandable. Even the agents that we need to
launch this man. So we're not going to edit thousands. No, but it looked. It looked really like it looked not only like I knew the script was going to be good and it's going to look funny, yeah, but also just visually it looks really nice. Yeah, that's fine. Yeah, yeah, yeah, it looks good, Very good. Yeah, yeah. So I mean, the whole thing is fine. It's good as in like, it's not like, oh shit, I'm embarrassed by, but I'm like, yeah, OK, no, it's another campaign.
This is worth being staying over there forever. Oh, yeah, for sure. Yeah, I wouldn't. Yeah, I wouldn't. When I like take it down for any reason it looks really beautiful. Yeah, I mean, right now, sadly, the only one thing I have for myself is that they gave me a 24 Ultra phone. Yeah. As a gift, yeah. And it's just, it's still sitting there. I'm like, I haven't had time to transfer nothing really. It's it's all, it's all ready to.
I'm ready to rock'n'roll. But it's just like I haven't had time to transfer my shit. Over all right yeah that is actually like a whole over this whole day I'm. Not a Samsung guy at the moment, I'm one Plus and so. Yeah, I'm 1 + 2, but also you 1 + 2. Yeah, one plus. Look at that. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But you know, through Google, you're supposed to like, just sync everything up there. Something right, I mean, yeah, with your Google, yeah, but I'm
saying that the photos is not. There's a little bit of that, you know, where I'm like, ah, shit. So it's like, I'm like, I'm just going to sit down and get it done. But like, I'm like, you know what? That would be a A2 week later thing, yes. Yeah, yeah. But when you have like an an entire new apt, a new phone in perspective is not a yeah exactly. I don't think it's going to run out of style very much soon.
So I think that could no. I believe it's like it's, it's obviously brand like not just the phone is brand new. But flagship one right now, yeah, that's their top. Yeah, it's their flagship, Yeah. So that's going to take a while anyway. I mean, that was a lucky thing because they didn't tell me. Yeah, we'll, we'll give you a phone and they didn't specify which one. I'm like I'm very sure Samsung would be like why the fuck are you not using our top? Right.
Yeah. I'm pretty sure I'm assuming that they're like yeah, order online and then get I was I can get a cheaper at the store like no, no, we needed to go online to buy from Samsung. Yeah, I get it yeah, I get the official official route. Of course reimbursing me. Actually, what I did is actually I got they were gonna give me the 256 gigabyte version Yeah, I decided to add another thousand and get the 512 gig because I need more space.
I'm like, you know what, if I want to use it, let's do it properly man. It's no point getting the shitty. Snow. Yeah, you're right. Yeah, Yeah. So. Good on you Samsung, you got $1000 off of me. There you go. Which if you have met Vivek, it's almost an impossible. Impossible. Dude. I'm like, why am I putting 1000? What am I getting? I have a phone. What's the point here? You have to work as well. What the fuck?
Yeah. Yeah, at this point in your career, you're supposed to just be given stuff. Yeah, yeah. I mean, it's so weird. I'll, I'll be honest with you, when I did the Samsung Galaxy Nexus ad, this is like 11-12 years ago, right? And they said we'll give you a phone. Dude, I didn't understand the concept. I'm like, what do you mean? You mean for the ad? Yeah. Then you got to keep it. I was like, why would you give me a phone? Yeah, yeah, this is you're giving me money, you already.
Paid me for this. Why would you give me a phone? You feel bad for them. You're like, are you stupid? Yeah, I'm like, why would you even what you know and then. And now, like, many years later, you're like, where's my phone? Yeah, exactly. I mean, I'm not doing it with, hey. I get a phone, right? And it's because, like back then my thinking was so basic, like, why would you be so nice to give me? You're paying me already. I'm like, I know why? Because they're hoping I use the phone, yes.
And then like, oh, this guy using our phone and. Not only that, when they give you a phone, they sweeten the deals, then you don't look, talk like you don't pay attention to the money. Yeah, yeah. Even if you are like, Oh yeah, I'm not very happy. They like, but there is a phone. The phone cost on them. Yeah, very little, very little. And it's also making one. Obviously they can sell it. Yeah, but they can also just keep making more, right? And #2 remember.
The cost on it is very low. Yeah. And they have stocks just exactly out of all the stock they they create, they're not selling every one of them. No, there's a bus that's sitting there. Yes, that was design number one with this in mind #2 is like, yeah, just in someone's office in the drawer. Like if you ever need this is one to keep it over here if ever I forgot about it. Yeah, for sure.
You get a lot of those. And that's why it's just, I never understood this whole picture before, but now I'm like, I see cuz let's say I'm a Samsung ad guy. I remember back then there was yeah, the in the contract, I think for one year I had I can only use Samsung phones. Wow, I think that was. Part of the contract so that's why they. Prefer any public appearance or whatever. I know. Basically I would agree that my phone would be a Samsung phone, Yeah. So it's not.
So if you get if you get seen outside with like an apple. And I told them I was like. That would be a great lawsuit, by the way. It was like, it would just be hanging out. I don't have an Apple phone, but if you're hanging out with a friend, like, and you just, like, grab their phone to take a photo and then someone else takes a photo of you, and then you go to court. Yeah. And then you have to defend yourself that it's not your phone. Yeah. It's the funniest thing.
Samsung. I do the Apple Samsung. I'm holding my friend's Apple phone. Someone uses a hallway phone to take the photo. Right. And this is reporter all on, like, I don't know, Baidu. Fucking hell. But you can't get a break. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah, that would be great. Oh God, yeah. I speak of Samsung. Shameful, shameless plugging. You can you can always find us for more stuff. Hire us together. It's the dual from the podcast did the Samsung ad.
So we're we're open for any sort of collaboration like this. It is a lot of fun. Samsung is a pretty high bar to to go from. I think it's literally one of the biggest companies. In the world. So it is cool it. Is cool to be able to work with that kind of a name. Yeah, yeah. But if you're a smaller name, we'll still work with you. We'll consider it. Yeah, Actually, I'm. I'm not going to say I. Might look when I when I do the ad, though I might give that whole John Lee kind of like
exactly this is beneath. Me exactly. We started with Samsung. What are you doing? What the fuck? Now I have to. What do you manufacture? T-shirts. The fuck Who wear your T-shirts? Yeah. Know these people? What? The Gap. Fuck you, man. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. There is a there is a knowledge gap here and yeah, that's a wealth. Gap in your contract, what I want? Yeah, and also the the private gigs that you know, hire us for that too. You're always you're always
