Or have you, like me, marveled the architectural and engineering feats of New York City’s bridges, subways, and tunnels? Did you know that much of the construction of the Brooklyn Bridge was actually monitored by a woman? Emily Warren Roebling stepped in for her husband, Washington Roebling when he fell ill during the construction of the bridge, and she saw it to completion.
