Episode description

Our ancestors paid a mighty high price for us to be where we are today. Further along than we were but far enough away from where we want to be.  We have a rich culture and heritage and it's our responsibility to teach it to our children.  Freedom came for the African American in 1863 with the issuance of the Emancipation Proclamation but was delayed until 1865 for Texans when their slaveholders withheld the news that they had been emancipated.

On June 19, 2021, let's celebrate the sacrifices of our ancestors and acknowledge the accomplishments of the African American.
