Explore Alaska with Inspiring Girls Expeditions
Episode description
Joanna Young, Director of Alaska programs of Inspiring Girls Expeditions, and Sarah Clement, Program Coordinator, share information about the tuition free programs that are offered to young women. 16-17 year old girls can start the application progress through January 31st for the Summer 2020 program. This opportunity offers a transformative experience for participants.
Expeditions are led by professional women scientists, artists, and wilderness guides. Throughout each expedition, the team engages in scientific and artistic inquiry about the environment around them. In small groups, participants design and conduct scientific projects, which they present to the public on the last full day of their expeditions.
