Episode description

The Black Teen Experience goes back in the day to talk all about The Wood. Co-host Kirkland Shephard shares with Brian one of his favorite coming of age films staring Omar Epps, Richard T. Jones and Taye Diggs. Directed by Rick Famuyiwa (who would later go on to direct Dope), The Wood tells the story of three young men growing up in Inglewood, California through a set of ill timed wedding day flashbacks. Kirk educates Brian on all things LisaRaye, what Young Slim is up to these days and everything that makes The Wood such a formative teen film.
