This idea of well, ask yourself, why weren't you motivated to do it like Michael? Why? Why were you motivated to only or not motivated to, to only have asset, right? Guys, The thing is right, take the word motivation. Like what the fuck does it even mean? All of all of us, right? If if you had to ask anyone, well, why, why do you hire a coach? Why do you join a program? Why do you do a course? Why do you read books? And, and almost all of us will say, well, it's because I want

to kick up the ass. I want, I want someone to hold me accountable. I want to, I want to be more motivated, right? And, and the question is right, what the fuck does does motivation even mean? Right? How, how, how do we spark motivation, right? How do we even sustain it right? And, and so by now you guys know that, that, that I absolutely I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm a word nerd. Like I literally get orgasmic of

a dictionary, right? And, and, and I love the etymology right, of, of, of, of words, right? And, and, and so the, the, the, the word motivation, right, comes from the Latin word multiverse. And, and, and it's variable of two parts. So, so the motive right literally means right our reason for doing something right and and and and and and the word motive came from from from the Latin word motive us right, which literally meant to move right.

And and so therefore motivation in in its current form, right is this it, it, it, it motivation derives from motive, which which literally means my what is my reason for doing something right? And, and that comes from the Latin word motive us, which means to move like you literally get off your ass, right, and go take a walk or exercise or whatever. It's a motivation. Therefore, right is literally the engine for doing things

right. It literally is the, the thing that, that, that drives me, that, that, that compels me to take consistent action in, in, in, in, in pursuit of, of, of, of, of, of what matters most to me. I'm, I'm going to repeat this for you guys. You guys see this most of us when, when we think about motivation, right? We, we, we, we out there saying,

well, you know what? I'm going to be motivated when, when I read, when I finish reading this book, when, when I finish hiring a coach, when I finish doing S hypnotis, when I finish aligning my chakras on the mountain like Craig does, when, when I finish the scores or whatever the fuck it is right. And, and and that is not what motivation is. Motivation literally right translated from from Latin literally means right, the

engine for doing things right. Motivation is the thing that, that, that drives us that, that, that compels us to take consistent action, right? I take, I take action because right, I'm, I'm, I'm, I have something that, that, that is driving me forward. It's not, well, somebody else needs to come in and motivate me to, to do anything, right? That's sort of what motivation is. Motivation literally is, is a thing, right?

That, that, that compels me to take consistent action in, in, in, in pursuit of what matters most to me. OK, I'm going to repeat this again for you. This. So motivation is literally the thing that compels us to take consistent action, right? In pursuit of what? Well, it's in pursuit of what matters the most to us, right? And again, you guys see this, what, what matters the most to us? Well, the things that matter the most to us literally is our

values. Do you guys see this, that that that I'm motivated to take action or consistent action in pursuit of what? Well, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I take consistent action in pursuit of, of the thing that matters most to me, literally AKMI values. Do you guys see this, that, that, that, that without knowing what the fuck you value, without knowing what, what, what you value in life, right?

You will never be motivated. You will never take consistent action because then your action is in pursuit of of God knows what, but but it's there in pursuit of the things that matter most to you. Do you guys see this? That what we have to do right? You have to move by by cultivating your motivation, guys, I'm repeat this for you guys. The the, the, the, the, the motivation happens when we committed right to taking action in pursuit of the things that matter most to us, right?

And we've committed to, to moving right, but by cultivating our motivation right in the question then is how the fuck you even do this right? And so a couple of things #1 is that we first need to spark our motivation. So psychologists have a formula for this s + S + a, right? And, And so the first essence for spark, right? So first what we need to do is we need to spark our motivation. Then the second essence for for sustain our for sustain, right?

So, so we need to spark our motivation and and then we need to sustain our motivation, right? And, and then the the a in that equation sense for amplify, right? And then what we want to do is we want to amplify our motivation So quickly S + S + A is literally it's our spark plus plus sustaining it, plus simplifying it. So first, when it comes to motivation, we want to spark our motivation, right? But by getting clear on the things that they actually value

that matter to us, right? And then racially value. Then then what we need to do is we need to sustain our motivation. And you can only sustain your motivation, but by getting up every morning and saying, well, the things that I'm doing today, right? I, in pursuit of creating, creating a meaningful life, there is a line with my, with my values, right? And then what we want to do is we want to amplify our motivation, right? And so the, the, the, the first

part, the, the spark, right? We, we, we need to get going, right? We get up in the morning and we need, we need to have something that literally likes to Falcon fire on our ass, right? And, and how do we do it? Well, well, well, well, a couple of things. Number one is through ambition, right? And what psychologists call expectancy, right? So, so I have to have ambition, right? And I have a fucking real desire to create something if I only have a tiny amount of of ambition, right?

Or desire, guys, if you have a tiny little bit of ambition, right? Or desire, because again, guys, look at our psychology, too many of us say, well, you know what? I'm not, I'm not really that ambitious. I'm not doing it for the money, guys. Then what the fuck are you doing it for? You know what? If you're not doing it for the money, honestly, give up being an entrepreneur, give up being, be working for someone. Go be a fucking monk. Go be a Buddhist monk. Go live in a temple for your,

the rest of your life. Go become a Franciscan monk, right? And go live in the monastery somewhere, guys. You without, without having a real desire and having ambition, right? Every man right has to be fucking ambitious, right? Without ambition and without desire, you absolutely will never be motivated to do shit, right? That we have to have ambition and we have to have a real desire to create something like if we only have a tiny amount of

ambition or desire, right? You will never, ever, ever, ever have real motivation to create your impossible goals, guys. I'll repeat this for you guys. Those impossible goals, the thing that you say that you want to achieve before your clock stops ticking, right? And before you die, right? Those things you will never, ever, ever, ever, ever achieve them if you don't have, if you don't have a real desire and ambition to create, to create something.

And so that's the first part. We have to have an incredibly strong one, AKA I fucking want that guys again, right? For those of you who have been on awakenment for some time and on heroic man, we've talked about this, right? Get fucking clear. What the fuck is it that you want? The thing that you want, right? Are you fucking ambitious about it? Is it, is it, is it an is it an ambitious goal? Do you have a fucking real desire, right to create that

thing right, baby? Guys, do you see this? That was without right knowing what the fuck it is that you want, right? You will never, ever, ever be able to spark ambition, right? And the thing that you want literally is right. The thing that I value the most in life, does it make sense? You guys, can you guys see this, that every psychologist, right? We all know that literally depression and anxiety arise. Why? Because we don't know. We're not clear on our values or

the things that we value, right? Are not aligned with the things that will actually allow us to create a life full of meaning. Victor Frankel talked about this. Why the fuck was it that when men that were stronger than him, smarter than him, more physiologically healthier than him, died in the concentration camps, right? They, they, they, and, and he said these weren't even men that

were sent to the gas chambers. These were men that succumbed to, to, to, to, to, to, to depression, to anxiety, to the psychological illness. They took their own lives. They, they literally withered away in front of him through sickness, right? And, and, and it was literally because he said that those men had no will to meaning. They had no meaning in life. They they couldn't see past right? The, the, the, the, the, the, the current environment. We as Frankel, right?

He had, he had, he had an incredible will demeaning because even even though unknown to him, his wife and his daughter had been killed, right? He got up every morning right and said to himself, Victor, this will end one day. The Nazis will be defeated and you will see your wife and daughter again. Did you guys see this? That for him, the spark was he, what was what was most valuable to him, his value in life was his relationship with, with his

wife and his daughter. Like do you guys see this? And, and, and, and because, because he valued what he wanted and because he had it's such an incredible desire, right? And in ambition to love, right and and outlive the Nazis, right, that he was able to do not only just survive, but to flourish in the concentration camps, guys. But but again, right, dead alone is not, is not enough to spark

our motivation, right? If we don't think, if I don't think I can get what I want right, or or or or that I desire, AKA expect expectancy, right? So if I don't expect this, this thing that, that, that, that, that, that, that that I'm going after, right? If I don't actually believe, right, that I can get what, what I desire, right, Well, then guess what? You have no fucking hope, right? And, and, and so we talked about this over the last couple of weeks, right?

The, the, the number one reason why, why too many of us don't have confidence, right? Is it we said excessive goals, right? We, we said goals that are fucking way beyond our, our ability to get right. And and because I've said an excessive goal, I might say on paper, well, you know what? I want a 10 million in the bank in the next 90 days for some guru, Mac guru told me I can do

it, right? But but internally, your mind doesn't believe that Your mind doesn't believe that you have a chance to fucking hell, right to to actually achieve this. And because I don't have expectancy, I don't think that I can get what I desire, right. Well, then guess what? You literally suffer from what psychologists call a sense of hopelessness, right? You have no hope right then. And do you see this that you need to believe deeply, right?

That you can what, that you can absolutely get what you desire, right, right, guys? Which is why we need to do, do the deep work, right? To build our confidence to believe that we can get what we want. Any questions so far that doesn't make sense, you guys, do you guys see this A couple of things in terms of motivation. I, I, I, I need to have a, a sense of, of, of, of, of intense ambition and desire, right? The, the, the thing that I'm going after, right? It really is the thing that,

that I desire. How do I know the thing that I desire will, because it is, it is one of the things, right? It is a core value of mines. I know that, that, that, that, that it is something that I value above everything else in the world. And, and, and even if I achieve those things right, well, then it will lead to me to living a life full of meaning, right? And the second part is that right? I have to, I have to have an expectancy. I have to believe that the thing

that I'm going after, right? I absolutely will do it because if I don't believe that I have the capability to do it, well, guess what? I'm absolutely never ever going to be able to do it. And because I don't actually believe that I have the capacity to do it right, I end up in a state of feeling hopeless. And well, guess what? The path from hopefulness to depression, right is an incredibly short jump. Do you guys see that that that

that is meant? One of the reasons that that why so many entrepreneurs suffer from depression and anxiety is because we we've set ourselves excessive goals because someone told us, well, you know what, Tommy, you, you, you can be, you can be a 13 figure copywriter right in, in in nine weeks. Afraid. Well, you know what, within three weeks of being a coach, you can be charging people $100,000 because Steve Harrison charges someone 200,000.

So, well, you know what, you can do the same thing. You see this, that, that, that what then happens is that we saying this out loudly, but our mind doesn't believe it, our soul doesn't believe it, right? And, and so we end up right with a sense of hopelessness that you know what, the thing that I'm, that I'm doing right is way beyond me. And, and therefore I, I end up being anxious and depressed because I can't, because I literally cannot sustain this

thing, right? And, and, and so the, the, the, the last part for today, right, is how do we sustain our commitment to, to, to achieve our, to achieve our desires, right? So if I have a commitment to actually achieve this thing, right? Well, how do I sustain my commitment to achieving my desires? Well, well, two things #1 is what psychological attention and, and, and then the second part is effort, right? So guys, again, right, It's fucking super easy to get fired up about a goal, right?

But then for 99 all of us, right, we say we're going to do this thing the first day we get fucking fired up about doing it, right? But then for 99% of us, right, two weeks later or two months later or two days later, right, we back to to where we were, right? And what we need to do is we need to sustain our motivation, but by bringing it to our attention often, right? We need to check in with this goal, right? All of the fucking time, guys, ask yourself, right, in the last

two days, right? How often did you check in with your goal, right? Are you checking in with your goal if you've written it down, right? And if you've written your goal down, how many times are you reading it today? How many times are asked, are you checking in with your goal, right? Or is it just a thing that you say to yourself, well, I'm going to achieve this goal and then that's it, right? Personally, for myself, I check in with my goals all of the

fucking time, right? Multiple times a day, right guys, you see, I see this that you have to have a healthy level of obsession if you want to sustain your pursuit, right? Of putting our attention on on inconsistently Jamie, do you think three times a day is enough right guys, ask yourself, what does an obsessive number look like to you right If, if, if, if if it is an obsession for you, right? How many times would you check in with your goal right?

Personally, I check in with my goal all of the fucking times, like 50-60 times a day. Like guys, do you have to have a healthy level of obsession if you want to sustain your pursuit, but by by putting our attention on it consistently, right? And and a couple of things here, right? Write it down daily. Get up in the morning. The first thing you do in the morning journal, you're fucking go write it down, right? They're my number one thing for today.

The thing that I'm going to achieve today, right? Is this, right? And then reflect on all the times during the day, right? Reflect on it in the morning, in the afternoon, in the evening, when you wake up, when you go to bed, right? And then, well, the last one in ending today, guys, right, is that we need to take the effort day in and fucking day out, right, in pursuit of our impossible goals if we want to sustain motivation.

And repeat this last part for you, apart from just writing it down, because too many people do write their goals down. And then, well, then what, right? Well then we need to make a commitment to take the effort fucking day in and day out, right? That I'm obsessed with taking the effort day in and day out, right in pursuit of my impossible goals, right, if I

want to sustain motivation. So the guys, the home food today, a couple of things, right, if you haven't already, right, Taking the time out to right now, right, to write down your goal, right? Not your five year old, not your 7 year old, not your 13 year goal.

What is your number one thing? What is the one thing that you could do today such that if you did did it right, it would take you in, in, in, in, in the direction, in the direction of accomplishing your yearly or weekly monthly goal. What is it? One thing, right? So, so take them right to write it down. Write down your goal, right? And then reflect on it, right? Make a commitment to yourself for today. You're going to be fucking obsessed about reflecting on it,

right? On your goal this morning, in the afternoon, in the evening, right? And then the second part, right, Make a commitment just for today, right? That that that that, that, that, that today and today only, right, that you are going to spend the entire day right in pursuit. You're going to be fucking obsessive, right, in taking effort, right, to achieve that, that, that one thing that that that that you have set out to do for the day.

Any questions guys before we end Michael fan get fuel envelopes, David.
