Welcome to the heroic man. Today we are going to be talking about embracing your masculinity. You're joining me, he and my Co host Yazeen. Yazeen, the floor is yours. Take it away. Thank you. OK, guys, we are speaking about embracing the masculine. And so fundamentally as men, it's obviously maybe not obvious that we need to embrace our masculine, right? And, and So what, what does it
even mean? Well, well, to be an awakened man or to be a heroic man means that that that, that we need to embrace our masculine essence, right? And, and to have a masculine essence is, is to be a man of purpose to a man that's confident, to be a man that's confident, to be a man that's driven to me to be a man that lives with deep integrity and, and also a sense of humor, right? To be someone that's spontaneous and sensitive, right? I'm going to repeat this.
So yes, that can you see this? They, they, they do have a masculine essence means that there, there are a bunch of virtues that that we should embody. And amongst them, purposeness, having a sense of purpose, having a sense of confidence, being driven. Then I get up in the morning and, and I have a drive to do what needs to be done right, deliver the deep sense of integrity, the, the fact that, that, that I'm the type of men that does whatever the fuck I say I'm going to do right.
But also they have a sense of humor, right? And and then to be spontaneous and to be sensitive, right. And I think the, the, the, this last two ones, a lot of us as men, for whatever reason, we've lost our, our sense of spontaneity, right? We get caught up in our heads and all we have to explain and playing and playing, right? But, but we don't take the, the moment to actually be
spontaneous, right? And, and, and then the last one is we, we have to balance the, the, the masculine with the, the courage, the drive, the confidence, right, with also being sensitive, right? And, and, and, and, and in a way, this is, this is a way of, of the heroic man, right? And, and again, it's, it's a heroic man. It's also we, we need to have a mission, right? Guys, ask yourself, do you have a mission, right?
Because the masculine essence within us, right in, in the heroic man, right, is a sense of mission, right? Aristotle 2000 years ago said I was someone Bonham, right? Our greatest purpose is literally to have a mission. And for him, our, our greatest mission was, were what do you have a greatest strengths and greatest service to the world, right? What about you guys? Do do you have a sense of mission? Do you have a mission? Do you have a sense of purpose,
Right? And, and again, it's, I think it's not an imperative that it, that there's a man that we, that we know where we want to go, right? I, I know we talk about all of them about what we want, but I think it's equally important to know where am I going, right? Do I actually have a direction in which I'm going? I'm just going round and round and round in circles, right?
Do I even know where I am? Do whatever they think don't even have a clue about where we are, right and where we want to go right? Then the question is, you don't even know where you want to go. And if you don't even know where you are, well, then the question is, well, how the fuck are we ever going to get there? Do you guys see there's too many of us, right? We literally are lost, right? We don't know where we are. We don't know where we go in.
And then the question we ask ourselves is, well, how am I even going to get there when we don't even know where where there is? Guys, do you see that? If you don't know one one of those things, right, then, then you need to figure the fuck out. Figure out where you are in your life, figure out where you want to go like this. And again, if you're with me, right, it starts with with the this idea. Well, you know, if I don't know where I am and if I don't know where I want to go, right?
Stop making excuses, right? Stop blaming your parents, your situation, your, your, your relationships, your finances, right? Stop making excuses, right? The the the fact is that a heroic man doesn't blame family. He doesn't blame lack of money, he doesn't blame his family responsibility, or he doesn't blame anything else for not pursuing his creative endeavors or pursuing his mission in life.
I'm repeat this so you guys, can you guys see that that the heroic man doesn't blame, he doesn't make excuses. He's not blaming his family, he's not blaming his life of money. He's not blaming his family responsibility. He's not blaming anything else, but not pursuing his creative endeavors or pursuing his mission in life, right? And, and, and the, the, the, the man who don't do that right? They, they, they simply don't have the courage to step in the fuck up right?
And, and love their mission. And then what about do they do? Do they do well? If, if, if I don't have the courage to step in the fuck up and love my mission? Well, I make excuses about it. Do you see this guys? Honestly, it's so true, right? It's again, it's the victim versus greater mindset, right? And, and, and this is even more important for for us as men, right? As as men, we have to, we have to be fucking intense. Let's ask yourself, are you really intense in your life,
right? Do you have a masculine energy, right? Do you have creative discipline, right, guys, seriously, we need to stop with the fucking excuses, right? And, and make a commitment to create the discipline in, in our life to consistently show up and rocket. I'm going to repeat this for you. Can you see this that that it starts with as a man, am I fucking intense? And we talked about this on yesterday's awakening call,
right? When somebody meets you in the street, do you have that look in your eyes that says, holy fuck, you know what? When someone sees you, they're like, this guy is dangerous, right? This guy is intense, right? He exceeded that masculine energy, right? Do you even have creative
discipline? Do you have the discipline to do what what you say you're going to do right, guys, again, if whatever excuses we have, whether it's trauma, family responsibility, your lack of money, your family, or anything else, right, Stop with excuses, right? And, and, and, and, and, and make a commitment to create the discipline in, in your life to consistently show up and, and, and rocket right? And, and again, it is, it is heroic mean, right. Yes, I get that.
There's a process of, of, of unfolding our destiny, right, of peeling away the layers to unfold to, to, to fulfill or unfollow our destiny, right? Yes, I get it that, that, that achieving your destiny is like an onion. We have to peel away layers and layers and layers. But guys, too many of us, that's all we ever do. We so fucking caught up with peeling away the layers, right? Then we forget about the now, right?
And, and, and whatever his name is, as I told said, there is literally a power in now, like we need to pursue our current endeavors, right? With vitality and intensity. Guys, ask yourself, whatever you do, whether you work for someone else, work for yourself, whether you're foot broke, goes copyrighted or whatever. Do you get up in the morning, right? And you approach your work with vitality. Do you approach you with
intensity? And then, well, if you didn't get to the point we what you're doing exhausts you like, then ask my ask yourself, maybe some of you say, well, you know what? The thing that I'm doing, it exhausts the fuck out of me. But then ask yourself, right, I ask myself all of the time, do I have any regrets, right, for wanting to give this up?
You know what, sometimes if the thing that I'm doing exhausts me, maybe I want to give it up. But ask yourself, even if I give this up, right, will I have any regrets for wanting to give this up, right? And and then if you feel an increase in energy, right, just imagine being done with it, right? Sometimes if, if you know that, that it's time to give up something that, that we're, we're just thinking about giving it up, right, gives you an increase in, in your energy, right?
Just just thinking about being done with it makes you more energetic guys. And then then look back at it, Look, look, looking back at it, right? Maybe your project, the, the work that you're doing, the, the business that you're running, the company that you're working for, maybe now in, in hindsight, it, it seems silly, right? Even though it deeply inspired you once, right, a while back, right? Then, then, then, then, then what we need to do, guys, is to give ourselves the freedom to
evolve. Because honestly, if you're getting up in the morning and you don't have intensity, you don't have energy, then you have to ask yourself, is this thing that I'm doing actually the thing I should be doing? Because if it was, if it was your life purpose, I, I swear to God, you will get up in the morning with an intense amount
of energy and vitality. But but if you're getting up in the morning and you don't have the intensity and vitality, then ask yourself, right, Do I have any regrets for wanting to give this up? Right? Do I feel an increase in, in energy just imagining being done with it, right? And, and looking back at it, at my project, my work, my business, my relationship, whatever, right? Does it now seem silly, even though it it deeply inspired me just a little while back as you
see this as as men, right? Too often we don't give ourselves the freedom to evolve. We literally are stuck in one place. We don't evolve right. And often when we start something right, we need to make space only if it allows us to make the leap from, from our zone of excellence in our zone of genius. Let me repeat this for you guys that sometimes when I start something, whatever I'm starting, right, I need to make
space, right? And, and only if, if doing this thing is going to allow me to make the leap from my zone of excellence to my zone of genius. I think too many of us, right, the things that we're doing right keep us stuck in our zone of, of, of excellence, right? It, it, it doesn't allow us to be in, in I was in, I was in, I was own of genius, right? And personally for me, right, my, my zone of excellence, the thing that I'm fucking good at, right?
It's always been beatable businesses, right? I can literally I can build a business with with my eyes closed, right, any day of the week, right in, in in any month of the year, like literally with with my eyes closed, I can start in build A7 Figure 8 figure business, right?
But showing up on these scores, being a psychotherapist, on the other hand, right, investing myself in, in, in wisdom, standing human psychology, studying standing life, right, standing neuroscience, living spiritually, being creative, having a sense of abundance, right relationships, all of those things, right? They, they, they, they help me and create an extraordinary life, right?
And, and, and ensuring that at a level of, of intensity and energy and, and, and skill and, and, and, and, and, and aptitude, right? All of those things are, are way more closely in line to my zone of genius than, than, than if I was just running a business, for example, right. Again, like I said, running a business is fucking my zone of excellence, right? That's what I'm doing. But my zone of genius is when I show up as a fucking psychotherapist or, or as a coach, right?
When, when, when I'm studying psychology, wisdom, philosophy, human behavior, optimal living, neuroscience, spirituality, creativity, abundance, the psychology of money, whatever, right? Those things literally give, give, give me a level of intensity and energy, right? Way more than than than I do when, when I'm running a business or thinking about running a business. Do you see this, that, that, that, that, that for me, I, I, I've established what is closer for me in, in, in, in, do my
zone of genius, right? And, and, and, and then what do I do? Well, when we, when we've identified our zone of genius, we want to stop doing the things that keep us stuck in, in, in, in, in the zone of excellence, right? Do you see that, that, that, that ultimately it takes a shutdown of courage, right, to step the fuck up, right? And, and, and step to a purpose that, that, that, that is meant to fulfill itself in your life.
Guys, ask yourself, right, if again, if you don't have a sense of intensity, if you don't have a sense of energy in using whatever you're doing, right? Is it look, is it really putting you in your zone of genius, right? Is it allowing your purpose to be fulfilled in your life?
And, and, and again, right in, in any, can you first see this for me personally, when I learned this to make the distinction between operating in my zone of genius and in my zone of excellence, that was a fucking big idea for me, right? And, and, and especially if, if I wanted to be an awakened man, if I wanted to be a heroic man, if I wanted to live with a sense
of purpose. And, and so you guys in ending the question, then, right is, is what do you need to do to check to what do you need to change in your life? Right? Is, is there a layer that you need to let go of? Right. Misha said that there's the snake that cannot change its skin must perish. And, and I love that I'm repeating this for you guys that you just said the snake that cannot change its skin must perish in the same way with us, right? What do we need?
What, what part of our skin do we need to change? Is, is it something that, that we need to change in our life? Is there a layer that, that we need to let go of? Right. And again, Joseph Campbell said that, that, that, that in order to have a resurrection right in, in, in the next phase of our being, right, there has to be a crucifixion again. I, I love that they, they send
by Campbell, right? He said in in order to have a resurrection into the next phase, I will be in, right in, in into the next level of being a heroic man. He said there first has to be a crucifixion. Do you see this? We have to be willing to die to, to kill the prior version of ourselves to be born to the next greatest version of ourselves. Guys, what about you? Are you willing to, to, to do that?
Are you willing to die too, right, to kill the, the prior version of yourself so, so, so you can be reborn into the next greatest version of yourself again, every time you feel yourself contracting, right, or sluggish or anxious or, or, or depressed. And again, too many of us, it's mean we go through life, right? When we feel contracted, we, we feel sluggish, we have no energy, we feel anxious all the time. We feel depressed, right? It's, it's because we are contracting it ourselves.
Can you guys see this the reason for my contraction, the, the, the reason for my expression, my anxiety, my slug issues, my, my, my lack of energy is because I've allowed myself to contract into myself, right? And, and, and, and in any guys, here's your homework for today. The, the, the way to address this right? We have to be willing to expand. We have to be willing to give ourselves to the world. Ask yourself in, in what way can I allow myself to expand?
In what way can I give myself more fully to the world, right personally, right. I know that the the only times when I get really, really stressed, right when I'm impatient and and and and and and and when I have when I need results I have no control over, then I want to come, come to come to fruition in the now, right? And and and then what do I do? Well, I drown myself.
I, I say to myself, well, let me go back to focusing on, on, on, on, on, on, on on creating and, and, and being in in my zone of genius, right? And and and and and and and having like creative output levels right at a level that, that, that is intense and full of energy. I just have a question before we end. Yeah, Thanks for saying that makes complete sense. It's like the the the more time that we are within our unique ability, the more time that we are focused in our zone of
genius. Essentially, the more energy we have and the more energy we have, the more we are embracing our masculinity. Absolutely. Yeah. Thank you man. Good talk. Thank you guys. See you on the next one.
