¶ Big Brother Journey and Initial Impressions
Yeah, good. It's been a rollercoaster over the last few weeks. But if you put yourself in that sort of environment, you've got to expect a bit of backlash here and there. And I did want to... make a dent in my time I didn't just want to be forgotten like that so you've got to push the boundaries and I've always been
One to rock the boat, shall we say. So you were on Big Brother. We're going to get into the controversies of it. It's been utterly nuts. And that's why I got in touch with you. I couldn't believe what I was watching. But first, I mean, how did you apply? Did you ever expect to actually get on?
Well, originally I didn't want to do reality. I was on the hamster wheel of acting for the last few years. That was dead set. I really want to be an actor. I loved everything about it. That was what my passion was. was etc but it was a friend of mine i was working at a gym just a part-time thing at the time and a friend of mine was like george you'd be quality on reality tv i was like no no no that's not for me not doing it
He was on me for weeks and weeks though. So eventually I wore down and I said, all right, I'll apply. Nothing's going to come of it and we'll take it from there. We both applied actually. He didn't hear anything back. Three days later, I got a text message on WhatsApp. Oh, can we organise a phone call? Did the phone call, went well. Just was my usual self because still I didn't think anything would come of it. But that phone call then turned into a Zoom call.
And after that, they wanted a live in-person audition. And the wheels were in motion. So do you want to know about the live in-person audition? Yeah, I think so. I'm quite interested in it a little bit. There was about a dozen of us in a room and you'll get to know each other. You play different games, have a debate on certain things, silly things. Is it right for your partner to snack in bed, for instance? And I was always one to... But you also got to stand out.
You just fade into the background, they'll forget about you. So did all that and got through to the next round. It's a one-on-one interview with the producer. They film it. So I think they send it to the top bods at ITV to then... Carry on the process. Then all the medicals start. You have a meeting with the director. You have a drug test. Got to give a urine sample. Do they do the ball touching? Oh, like cough. What?
touch my balls. Yeah, well, I remember when I went to school, when I was 11, all my friends suddenly remembered this. No one had remembered it at the time when we were 13. We all had to go to like a doctor and lie there. And I don't even know who it was. And he just held your balls and made you cough.
I think you should put a claim in, mate. I know. Everybody's like, are you sure? But it was everyone at my school who had to do it. Other people. People put in the comments if they had to do that, please. But go on. Yeah, you did all that. Go on. Sorry. Luckily, I didn't have to do that. Some doctors. Probably got some investigating to do. No, so yeah, did all that drug test and stuff. And all of a sudden, it's like, oh God, I might actually get on the show. And you think about it, over 100,000.
People apply to go on Big Brother and other reality shows. Sometimes it's more, sometimes less, but a lot, a lot of people. So considering only 16 make the final cut... It becomes so prestigious. You can't turn it down. It's like, oh my God, this is a once in a lifetime. People will give an arm and a leg to go on a show like this. And as I say...
I've always been a fan of Big Brother. My mum's watched it since the very first season. I wasn't even alive then, but I've watched all of them that I've been alive for, even as a little toddler in a buggy I was watching, I think. So I've loved it. Plus, it's a social experiment. There's a plethora of different people from all walks of life. The premise of the show is to put everyone in this cauldron of debate and you've got to work together for the shopping tasks, et cetera. And...
Yeah, you just have interesting conversations. People go, oh, would you go on Love Island, George? No, I wouldn't because they're all just influencers already. They're not there for debate and discussion. Have you got the body? as well oh yeah have you without a doubt shall I but they must have known at this point they've done research into you and all that that you've got a few sort of racy if that's the word dicey views um
Well, I hide it well on my... So you don't think they might... No, they definitely would have known what I'm like because, as I say, you have... a long chat with the producers, the directors. They saw how I was behaving in that room with other hopefuls. And also...
A little exclusive. I've not said this yet. I don't know if I'm allowed to, but... Just do it. Yeah. The process I'm describing was last year. Last year, I... i was gonna go on there made it to the final straw didn't get on what happened was hi george i'm so so sorry you made it so far we've loved you but unfortunately due to the dynamic of the house and everything
We just can't have you on this year, but we can have you in a rehearsal house. I was like, well, I didn't know that was a thing. So last year I was in the Big Brother rehearsal house. Now that's with just... that's 10 of you not 16 it's only for three or four days and you it's basically a crew rehearsal so they're ready all the lights look right all the mics work all right the crew know what they're doing and you play a couple of games but I did dip my toe in the
water as to how it would be and you know what andrew i thoroughly enjoyed it i i was i was really subversive as i as i am naturally um it was great fun and yeah i I knew that this was the show for me. It was always hard for me to... get my points across. What's the best way to make content, maybe? Is it to start a podcast, to write a book? But something like Big Brother, where I was talking with all different people, that's the thing for me. And I loved the rehearsal, so I went for it again.
in january of this year i'd i'd do a bit of extras work a bit of acting and i i was on a job and one of the crew for that job came up to me and she said you're georgian you're in the big brother rehearsal house that wasn't televised, so she must have worked on it. How do you know? She said, yeah, I was on the storyboard team. And she said, listen, I can't say much. But if you apply, you're going to get on the show this year. So right from January, I knew that if I applied, chances are...
I'll get the gig. And that's how I knew I'd be great at it because I knew all the directors and the producers loved me on there because I was... Perfect, if I do say so myself. But yeah, I knew it'd be great. And that's why I wanted to go for it again this year. Did the same process all again. That was a bit annoying. And I got it this time. Once you got on...
¶ Ideology and Caroline's Controversy
Did you notice a kind of ideological slant at all? I'm thinking a kind of a woke kind of thing. Yeah, I do think the show is certainly more liberal. I mean, if you look at the audiences, you can tell by the people there. You know what they look like. There's always like a few trans. But to be fair, I do think the audience has quite a diverse mix of people. It's got all the, what they call the Facebook mums. Yeah.
that would probably vote reform or conservative, then they're not as in touch with all the current woke terminology, et cetera. So I do think there's... There was a bit of a balance. I wasn't the only one in there this year with more right-sided views. But I'm a liberal guy as well. I mean, here we go. I'm anti-war. I'm anti-gun. I'm pro-choice abortion. I'm vegetarian. I love the environment. I'm not some right-wing fascist by any means. You sound like me. Yeah, well, this is, I think...
It's like Piers Morgan. Everyone seems to hate Piers Morgan. And I think that's a sign of a good journalist. Because if you're loved by any one side, you're biased. If you've got a bit of this and a bit of that, that's the melting pot, please. That's where you've got to be.
There is reason to think more liberal. There is reason to think more conservative. So if you've got a bit of a balance and you're not wholly on one side or another, I think you've got your head screwed on. So I'll meet you halfway, Andrew. But that's really interesting because I think you're right. The audience is more mixed and that's why it's so...
strange to watch it and see them come down so hard on something that most people watching it would actually agree with. And that's why I've got so much support. for the things I was saying, and we'll get into that. Well, before I'd even seen the stuff that you got, which we'll get into, that you got in trouble for, there was the woman who had said that someone didn't have a willy. Caroline. What happened there? Great woman. I love her. She's my best mate from the house.
And not because of that comment. To be fair, she did cross the line. I can see how what she said can be... It was below the belt, if you pardon the pun. She was just sort of joking around. Yeah, so she said to a transgender man that transitioned from female to male. She was a bit tipsy. She's had a few. And all it was, she was trying to make another housemate called Nancy, make her say she fancied one of the boys in there called Cameron B.
So she said this analogy, said, if you're on a desert island and you had to procreate another species, i.e. had to pick someone with a penis, who would you most like to get with? She wanted her to say Cameron B. But then Nancy said, Zila, who is the transgender, and Caroline said, no, but she's a girl. And obviously, Zila has transitioned. She doesn't have a willy. Yeah.
But that is true. Well, biologically, Zila has XX chromosomes, but that's the whole debate right now. And apparently he doesn't have a willy. Yeah, he doesn't. But you said he doesn't have a willy. No, I just said he doesn't have a willy. All right. I think someone will go back and look. As far as I know... Zeela doesn't have a willy. But to be fair... Is it that offensive though? Well... I don't know why it is. The thing is, I think it goes against the Ofcom...
But gender critical, I don't know, we should look into that, because gender critical beliefs are protected now by law. Yeah, I don't know how... So gender critical in terms of saying, no, no, I don't believe that this person's a man because they're not. So is there a sentence? Is it a fine, jail time? I don't know how...
That's why it's very touchy. And even getting into a conversation like that, I had a few conversations about transgenderism with Zila in there. Some of the best conversations I had were with Zila. He has got his head screwed on, to be fair. And he's in touch with politics, etc. The lines are very blurry. And certainly for someone like Caroline, I sympathise for her because she's of a generation where none of this existed.
So things like that do slip out. And to come down as hard as Big Brother did to her, it's upsetting because she's a great woman at heart and she was apologetic and everyone deserves a second chance. Her view that... this person doesn't have a willy. Not only is truth... Well, that's fact. It's fact, and it's protected by law.
That is protected by law. In employment law, you are allowed to have the belief it is protected that that person doesn't have a willy because they don't and they're not a man. Well, she also said, but she's a girl. But she is. Well... By genitalia, correct. And by sex. Yeah, but on a show like Big Brother. This is the issue. But I think when she comes out, is she still in there, Caroline?
Caroline is, yeah. She's on a formal warning as a result of that. I think she should sue. Her belief is protected, and she was humiliated. It wasn't just Big Brother saying, like, hey, Caroline.
tone it down a bit we've got to be a bit careful not to offend people yeah it was big brother going you have used unacceptable i could the voice has changed because like 20 years ago it was this northern voice like big brother in the house and this was like yeah there's various narrators um but as i say big brother is supported it the heart of its fan base is the lgbtqia community so they've got to look out for number one and got to protect the ITV and Big Brother brand.
I just couldn't believe how they humiliated her. And then she was going, I'm so sorry. Oh, I didn't mean it. Yeah. I don't think she did mean it. I do think she was sorry. But she shouldn't be, is what I'm saying. Well, yeah. But if she said, I'm not sorry, then she'd be off the show. I know. So it's a tightrope.
If she had said, you're trans and you're disgusting, then right, I get it. You know, kick her off. That's not nice. You can't be like that. But if she was like, well, listen, I don't think you are. I suppose the way she said it could have been... adjusted to be more passive but she was joking I know but fortunately they saw they gave her the benefit of the doubt and she is still in there but I feel sorry for her because it's feminine swamp in there now when she gets out can you
I want to put her in touch with the Free Speech Union and see if they can sue. What is the Free Speech? People have been saying that about me. Yeah, yeah. They're brilliant. Toby Young and his organisation. To do a turning point, maybe. No, I don't know.
they might have some link to do with that i don't actually know but they you sign up with them and pay a monthly fee and then if something happens to you with regards to your free speech somebody kicks you off a show say because you've said something that should be protected by law the free speech union will support you and
your law case if you if you sue them so i think whether you've got a case or not i don't i don't know no i'm not i i don't really you know it's onwards and upwards i don't hold grudges i think it's terrible i was so so gutted and again we'll get into that but um i don't pledge to take things on a litigious route
Never say never. I think she should. She probably has a bit of a leg to stand on, but I'll let her decide that. It's not my call. Yeah, she was humiliated. They really went like, what do you have done? I saw a clip and she, again, I think... I did feel sorry for her, but at the end of the day, the rules of the Big Brother house, don't be offensive.
But that's... How could you... I know. Yeah, they're being offensive by telling her she can't have a gender critical... She had to fall under her shell and apologise. Otherwise, she's snookered. Yeah, oh no, don't blame her. Yeah. So what...
¶ First Warning: Misguided Hitler Comments
What happened with you? Because there were a few different things, weren't there? Correct, yeah. And some of which were not shown on telly because they were so, so bad. I'll let you make your own minds up for that. Gosh, go on. Do you want to know? Yeah, I do. I mean, I've heard everything. Because rumours, antisemitic stuff. I know, yeah. Well, I love Jews more than... I bloody love them. No, here we go. So...
The first, guess how long it took me to rack up my first verbal warning. How long? Day one. Literally on the same day of entering. That is when you chew the fat most and you get to know your housemates. You probably... Tensions start to brew because people are trying to work each other out. But yeah, I did pick up a few warnings in my time. And the first one, I said, and I stand by this, nobody ever...
is wholly good or evil. I think people who are evil are probably misguided. People who are good, yin yang and all that, they've got some bad in their personality. So that was the fundamental point. And for right or for wrong, I use the most extreme example. I said, who's the most evil person ever to exist? If you ask Joe Public, who's the most evil person? Hitler. most people would say. And there's a case for that. But I said, Hitler probably wasn't sitting there, you know,
funding the Holocaust and going, oh, I'm so evil. He was probably going, this needs to be done. I'm a good guy. And Jews are at the trouble of Germany's ills. They're the root cause of all this. And now we know that's wrong. He was not right to, of course, do anything he did. It's terrible what happened. And of course, I don't endorse any of that. I mean, even if I did, do you think I'd be stupid enough to stay on telly? So that's not the point I was making. You're absolutely right.
Of course Hitler thought he was doing good. Yeah, I know. Of course he did. Why would he do it? Because he was misguided. People have probably fed him a pack of lies, anti-Semitic trope. And gone, oh, Hitler, you need to do this because Jews are to blame for hyperinflation, etc. Things like that. So Hitler was misguided. But apparently, that's justifying the Holocaust. Saying Hitler was misguided. Now...
I see just those words, Hitler was misguided. That alone, yes, it sounds not great, but let me explain myself, please. And that got me a verbal warning. Would you be offended by that? No, it's obviously true. And in fact, to not suggest so, I would say, I mean, it gets complicated, but to suggest otherwise is...
more anti-Semitic or more problematic for Jewish people because it would be suggesting that Hitler was just like this evil monster, two-dimensional, we don't really need to think about it and it's never going to happen again. Complex character. Yeah, instead of like, no, no, this could happen to anyone. It's not just Hitler we have to worry about. All of these people who...
think they're doing good actually might not be so it's really important that we do keep and that's the kind of message that people do need to hear I know and you were warned that's how you learn from history isn't it by looking at what went wrong and re-evaluating it. I suppose it's a bit dark for day one in the Big Brother house. I know. Oh, I was, well, at the time, at the time in the diary room when I got my warning, obviously this wasn't shown on telly because it's so bad. Oh, wow. Yeah.
That in itself is wrong. I think everything should be shown if it's... Not the boring parts. I know. Remember back in the day on Big Brother, you had a little warning at the beginning of each episode, oh, be prepared for flashing images and offensive language. Just put that and then you can put it wherever you want. That's my advice. Anyway, one day when I got that warning in the diary room, I apologized straight away.
Because they warned me right at the end of the day. And I was literally about to go to bed. I was so knackered. And I just wanted to clear it up and apologise. And that would be that. But I woke up the next morning. I went to bed.
You know, one of the things that always gets me when I'm in America is how expensive phone bills are. You can be paying more for your wireless plan than for a decent meal out. It's madness. That's why I was relieved to find Mint Mobile. If you're still overpaying for wireless... It's time to say yes to saying no. At Mint Mobile, their favourite word is no. No contracts. No monthly bills. No overages. No hidden fees. No BS. When I'm there, I get...
premium wireless for just $15 a month compared to what I used to pay with my old provider. The savings are insane. With Mint, you ditch the overpriced wireless companies and their jaw-dropping monthly bills. All plans come with high-speed data and unlimited talk and text.
on the nation's largest 5G network. You can bring your own phone, keep your number and all your contacts. I use this and you should too. The quality is just as good as my old provider, but for a fraction of the price. Ready to say yes to saying no?
the switch at mintmobile.com slash heretics that's mintmobile.com slash heretics upfront payment of $45 required equivalent of $15 per month limited time new customer offer for first three months only speeds may slow above 35 gigabytes on unlimited plan taxes and fees
Stressy Mint Mobile for details. In anger with myself. Because I woke up the next morning thinking about it. I couldn't get to sleep. I was thinking, I've just apologised. That's conceding guilt. Like I've done something wrong. That's not me. They got the wrong end of the stick. I didn't want to apologise what I should have said, or I should have stuck up for myself and just explained my point as I've just done here. They wouldn't listen. I know. Well, they of course wouldn't revise the warning.
But I had to get, I went into a catharsis. I said, I feel like I've got an albatross around my neck. Now everything I say, I've got the sword of Damocles hanging over my head because I'm just, I can't say anything because it might be offensive.
¶ Second Warning: Procreation and Genetics
And that would all happen again. What was the next thing? Well, the next thing was a formal warning, of course, strike number two. And that was, again, I'm 23. I could have picked better words. But here we go. I said, as somebody who's got red hair, blue eyes and white skin, I've been told that I'm the rarest breed of human. I think it's someone like 0.001% of humans have that makeup.
Right. Because their recessive genes is very rare, apart from Northern Europe and then people with Northern European ancestry and the likes of Australia or the States, et cetera. You won't find people like me in Africa or Asia. not indigenously anyway. So I said, I feel a bit of an obligation to procreate with a woman who can keep hold of these genes. Therefore, if I have...
a kid with a brown woman or a black woman, for example, that kid that we have will have brown skin, brown hair, brown eyes, and this will be lost. So I said, if I have a baby with a woman of that makeup, I feel like I'm betraying my kind a bit. Now, betraying my kind, it's not the best way I've put in it, but because it's, yeah, I do see where it could be wrong, but at the end of the day...
that's not racist, is it? You can also get these really beautiful mixed-race people with ginger hair and blue eyes and stuff. Yeah, lighter eyes. They're the most attractive, people say. Imagine that, then forget your obligation. You've got these model children. Yeah, well, this is it. But I wouldn't rule out having a kid with a black or brown woman. It's just, I do feel a bit of an obligation to continue. Otherwise, if we all don't, then we'll go extinct. Are you single?
I've never been in a relationship, actually. I think just take who you can get, then. Yeah, well, I'm not... You've got something about you, though. I'd be quite happy to go to my deathbed having kissed just one woman. and having had sex with just one woman. I've not had a first kiss yet, Andrew. Should we do it now? I was going to say that myself. Well, we'll find you. Should we do that? We'll set you up. I don't like the dating pool these days. It's just...
Everyone just... It's very, very difficult to find the right woman. When we do the links below for your staff, we'll also put your phone number. What about first dates? Never been on one. But you know the Channel 4 show? Well, I've been now because I'm an anti-Semite, isn't I? I think they'd have you on. I think they'd have you on. Maybe. And yeah, again, never say never, but I just...
Would someone I'm looking for go on a show like that? Maybe. They're really good. And they are quite woke as well, but they also sometimes have conservatives. I do like the show. It's a good show. They find good matches. Yeah, but have any of them actually?
I doubt the success rates. I bet there's a website with all the sort of, have they married? I bet loads have. Okay, again, they're saying that it's not such a big deal. Well, this is your second. Did you get another warning then? Yeah, so that was the second one.
But if I had said, oh, I just, you know, I feel like a duty to just be with Jewish women. Yeah, exactly. No one would have batted an eyelid. Yeah, you're Jewish, shouldn't you? Yeah, yeah. So you kind of, you want to continue your, your... ethnic or religious well I personally don't care but lots of Jews do yeah and that's up to them and no one about an eyelid exactly it's another example I think of white people particularly white ginger blue eyed people yeah
Why aren't they a minority of some sort? We are a minority, actually. White children do the worst in our schools. White working class pupils academically perform the worst and therefore will struggle to get good careers. but we don't we're not meant to talk about it because apparently the top one percent echelon are white stereotypically so then people like me pay the pay the cost now i'm not some brainiac No, far from it. I beg your pardon. But yeah, it's just a shame that...
the narratives that are being portrayed. And I'll tell you what, a lot of people, whether it's Asian people or Eastern European people or South American people, a lot of people do just want to procreate with people of their own ethnicity. It's like... them black influencers like, oh, I love my melanin skin. Good on you. I like that. Yeah. You know, and...
Each his own. If that's your preference, that's not offensive to me. I just think you're not the woman for me. If you tell every ethnicity that not only should they be okay with their skin color and things like that, but they should celebrate it and be celebrated for their ethnicity, except for white people.
that's mental and that is a recipe for disaster because people are gonna get pissed off exactly that would just inflame tension racial tensions yeah is that what they want i don't know so did they what they called you in again today
¶ Bureaucracy, Free Speech, and House Role
Yeah, that was the formal one. And that was on day three. So it's not boding well. Considering this is a seven week long process. I was like, there's no chance I'm going to last seven weeks. Was that voice? I didn't last seven weeks. Was the voice angry with you? Stern. Yeah, it's a strict. Stern voice. Yeah, they're just employed. They're humans that have got a job. They're looking out for oneself. Yeah.
They mean well. So did Hitler. And I'm half joking, but I do have an issue with the bureaucracy that we find, particularly in TV channels. It's just everybody there is just concerned about keeping their job. And that's a fine thing to think about. But when you get that en masse... you end up going in a really strange direction. Exactly, yeah. No one lives, no one stands for anything. No one stands for liberty. Freedom of expression. Yeah, yeah. Well, we're losing our freedoms.
That's happening at an alarming rate. We've got to do something about it because otherwise we're going to get some sort of Venezuelan-style youth-led revolt. Yeah, I think.
these things continue well i mean yeah it's the whole point of big brother is you've got okay this person's a trans person who's really woke this person's this this person's that and here's george over there and he has some traditional and some non-traditional views and yeah let's hear those as well and you can say boo i don't like it you want but don't kick him off right so that was that yeah and then i got
My first warning that was televised at last. People know I'm evil. Thank you. And that was for basically playing Spin the Bottle, Truth or Dare. Bottle lands on me. I say truth because everyone knows I call a spade a spade. I've got nothing to hide. So hit me with the worst one. And they did. They gave me... the worst truth of everyone. It's basically face-to-face nominations. I was asked to say something bad about each and every housemate.
I was like, oh, here we go. And I think this was just before nominations day, so it bodes well. And I did get the most nominations, I hasten to add. But I was expecting an easy target. They set you up. Well, yeah, to be fair, other housemates set me up.
that truth. That wasn't big. Yeah, but they, I mean, you're a housemate. Oh yeah, the housemate set me up. Yeah, spot on. Go on. So I was going around the table pissing everyone off basically. It's part of my friend. Am I allowed to? Yeah, yeah, yeah. I'll button it. No, no, no. But there was a guy now. called loud there was a northern irish girl really thick accent i said i can't really understand you so a bit of clarity would be nice
I said to another girl, she needs to get involved more. She's very quiet. And then I said to a guy in there called Sam, one of the housemates, he's gay. He's very, should we say, flamboyant. And I said, I couldn't, on the top of my head, I couldn't. think of the word to say but i just said oh sam you're very and and he laughed because he was running the tape running around the table at that point because that was his there from the previous round
So he laughed and we moved on. I was saying something bad about all of them. He is very like that. And I was then later... The thing is, there was another housemate called Feggy Schola.
I've not watched it back yet, but apparently she was... coming over to Sam like oh you were right that must have really hurt your feelings so I think he was alright and he thought oh I could milk this a bit get George in trouble as well two birds one stone or it's not even that sometimes it's just when someone says oh you were right you start to think
Maybe I'm not. Yeah, exactly. And I think that's what happened. And then the following day, of course, he comes up to me, George, can I have a chat? Turns on the waterworks. He says, oh, George, that really quite hurt my feelings because it reminded me of when I was at school. I got bullied and people were saying I'm gay and everything. My intention wasn't to hurt people's feelings. I had to say something bad about everyone.
The Northern Irish girl could have come up to me and said, oh, that's offensive. Or the person I call Loud. You wouldn't have even understood her, though. That's very offensive. Do it again. So Sam comes up to me. Yeah, I got bullied at school for that. It really hurt my feelings. And he started crying. So, of course, I didn't...
My intention is never to make people feel uncomfortable around me. I don't want that. It's not the sort of person I am. I just was playing the game. I'm not a cop-out. I wouldn't say something stupid that isn't true. I want to be honest. So honesty is the best policy. Clearly not, because I ended up getting a warning.
And I did apologize to Sam in the moment. And I wanted to contest it because that's my nature. And I wanted to stand up for myself. But it wasn't the time. He was in tears. So it's just easy to say. Sorry Sam, I didn't intend that.
let's go, crack on with the day, hey-ho. Because by that point, Sam was upset, probably because of this other person deliberately making him upset. Yeah, exactly, egging him on. It's so annoying, because we've had a huge number, an inordinate number of gay people on this show, just lots of gay people come on. Yeah, yeah.
None of them would be in the slightest offender. And firstly, because they don't act in that way. I know. It's a particular kind of person who acts in that way. I'll get on to that instead. After that, Big Brother calls me and warns me for offensive language. Hang about.
offensive language is subjective. What's offensive to Sam would make him cry, but saying this very same thing to me is water off a duck's back. Wouldn't be a warning. So it's now if you cry, you get special treatment. Is that right? And anyway, because they mentioned the term you use limp wrists. Like that's like...
You're gay. But because I was like that, apparently. So they were going down the homophobic route. I don't know if they mentioned that, come to think of it. How limp was your wrist when you did it? Well, I was just like that. But that's not me saying, yeah. Well, it is limp wrist, but that's not saying all gays are like that. I've got plenty of gay friends that aren't.
flamboyant like sam is maybe i should have used that word it couldn't come to me at the time i said that it's quite funny as well it's nothing harsh straight friends who maybe are like that as well exactly yeah Yeah, closet. I mean, I dress quite flamboyant. Well, there you go. You're a bit like that as well, I suppose. Yeah, I'm a bit like that, isn't I?
Don't do that to me. That's offensive, Andrew. If you start crying, then we can call the police. Yeah, well, I might have to get back on the show. But yeah, so that annoyed me. It's like... How am I meant to know what Sam was bullied for in school and then how to know what I should therefore avoid around Sam? Because as I say...
Jenny, the woman who's got a thick Northern Irish accent, for all I know, she could have pulled me to one side in tears. I got bullied for my thick accent in school. And then I get, what, I get a warning for that. I suppose the devil's advocate argument would be people aren't generally bullied for being Northern Irish at school, particularly if they're in Northern Ireland. True. Whereas if they are gay back in the day. I was told that. I was told if it's against race, religion, gender.
whatever it's it carries more weight but the offense that i was pulled up for was offensive language not homophobia offensive language now that's subjective so i beg to differ your honor it was more better acting than language, wasn't it? Yeah, I know. I didn't actually say anything. That's why I said, then used the actions of limp wrists.
They must have not had it in the rules of offensive justice. Well, I was actually told before the show, three strikes and you're out. And that was my third warning. So I did, part of me thought, oh God, are they going to keep me out right now? But they didn't. And I suppose that's because it's the first one that the public were privy to. So, yeah, that was a shame.
it ruined my time because now all of a sudden I said to big brother and at this point I was sick of it I was getting racking up warnings like going out of fashion I said to big brother so what am I allowed to say because anything can be offensive as we've just just acknowledged so what am i allowed to say big brother's like big brother really values your contributions we really want you to get involved and you're a valued housemate now i said
How can I get involved in conversations when anything I say can be deemed offensive? Especially because I've never really been one for having a best friend. I've never had... I've got close friends. I see my friends from school still a lot, and they always text me, good relationship.
In the house, this was very much the same. I wasn't part of a collective. There's a bit of a divide that always forms in the house. You got that lot. You got the more, the laddish, the boys. And I was friendly with both groups, but I was never... belonging to either one so I'm an easy target I'm a lone wolf so if anyone's ever got a problem or if anyone needs a cop out nomination I'm the man because if you nominate me no one else is going to be affected that's it so yeah
¶ Final Incident: Antisemitism and History
Do you want me to get on to the final nail in the coffin? Yeah, go on. So. Two seconds. Yeah. Let's get people waiting. Yeah. Well. Suspense. So. you know you mentioned caroline who made the transphobic comment yeah um she she said that and the following day there was an atmosphere in the house very tense no one really know what to do with themselves and there was no real
fun conversations happening everyone was quite everyone was walking on eggshells if you will so that evening i was eating my dinner and there's three lads who housemates in there who call themselves a part of the wolf pack, just a funny name. And we had a laugh. We had like jacuzzi chats with each other. It's good times, but they found it funny to rage bait me.
Now they know I'm an opinionated guy and I never hold back. Any conversation, fire it at me and I'll give you my view. That's why I'm a good housemate. as I was told by the director. We'll get onto that later. I was quality. So yeah, no one knows what to talk about. And they were just firing shots at me to try and spark a bit of conversation.
Now we got into conspiracy theories. I had mentioned before that I have dabbled in Scientology. You might be familiar. You're a cult kind of guy, aren't you? Yeah, yeah. I know all about Scientology. And I was telling him my story. We can get into that if you like later. I was telling my story of how I got into Scientology and I've never been a member per se, but it just sparked interest in me. So I did, I dabbled, explained all that. And then...
Then we went into other conspiracy theories about who built the pyramids, did man go on the moon, all the usual ones. And I don't really care about conspiracy theories. At the end of the day, we'll probably never know the answer to a lot of them. It's fruitful thinking. I do enjoy conversations like that, but yeah, I'm more fired up on real things. So then someone mentioned Epstein.
Obviously, the island and everything. And I said, I don't know a lot about it. I still don't. But I do think it looks like it was some sort of program to try and honey trap prominent Western figures like... maybe donald trump prince andrew all the rest of them um but who's behind this nobody knows one of the biggest theories is that gillaine maxwell's father
Robert Maxwell, he worked for Mossad, as you know. It's Israel's version of the CIA. And now Israel can manipulate the world order, if you like, to play into their hands. Now, I don't... I don't really subscribe to this view because I don't have enough evidence myself, but that's something that some people believe. Fair enough, each his own. And I said, but I don't like...
I even said I don't like spreading these theories because they do often lead to anti-Semitism. I think me personally, my views on the Jewish community, they integrate better than many other religions. They build things. They're bloody great with money. So I've heard. I like Jewish people. They give back to society generally. So my heart goes out to them. Which bit did you get kicked off for? The thing is, this is it. I ended up...
People in there, people start a conversation. Then I take the reins because I've got something to say all the time. And I say it with energy. People watch in awe. They're like, oh my God. And I'm just on a roll. And it looks like I'm preaching. And that was something I was pulled up on. um because no one was challenging me so then i got on to um yeah i
I think it's terrible how the Jewish community, even in London, a lot of Jews are fleeing London because they don't feel safe. A lot of Jewish shops are being vandalised. It's like crystal knocked out there all again. I think laws need to be... in place to protect these vulnerable, discriminated groups. I genuinely believe that. However, I said, I do see why people are skeptical of some Jewish world order.
And I said, this is the line. Some of the finest minds in human history, from Cicero to Shakespeare, Voltaire to Henry Ford to Roald Dahl. All of those guys had anti-Semitic tropes in their writings. Fact. Now, they're some of the most intellectual people of all time. They don't just, they don't write about Shylock in The Merchant of Venice for a laugh.
They got their head screwed on and they must have thought what they think for a reason, like them or hate them, right or wrong. And antisemitism has been around for millennia now, centuries upon centuries. Now, all I said was... So it does make me think, is it a case of no smoke without fire? And I see I'm 23. I should have picked better words. That's not, it's not.
really PC to say that. I could have been, but I was on a roll and no one was, no one was challenging me. Yeah. Shakespeare said, if you cut me, Shylock was, if you cut me, do I not bleed? So it was, you know, it was, it was in defense of Jews. It was saying. I think there's been other things, but Merchant of Venice does have anti-Semitic. Which is wrong, from what I know. The Jews were the lenders, because in Christianity you're not allowed to lend money.
And so the Jews were the ones who were able to do that. And so it made sense that people back then would start to hate the people who are lending them money and then saying, hey, you've got to pay up, that kind of thing. So a lot of that's where that started. But I agree. Yeah, this is it. People, largely because of the Israel-Palestine conflict, anti-Semitism is rife right now. And we need to put an end to that. But people have questions and...
We need to talk about those questions and give them valid answers to stamp out these theories because I do believe many of them are wrong. And there's no place for them in a civilized society. But the way to prove them wrong isn't to cancel the people asking the questions like myself. It's to address them and provide valid answers. That's where I'm going. And yes.
again i could have picked better words so i do apologize if i've offended anyone out there for the way i've just for that comment which i've just now exposed but people need answers so the anti-semitism can
¶ Eviction and Defense of Free Speech
be stamped out. That's how I believe you debunk any theory. Yes. Bloody hell, mate. Would you agree? Yeah. That's how you debunk theories. I'm trying to think if I'm the producer of that show, what do you do? Because do you just put up like a fact checker thing to try to debunk it? Because if nobody's... Well, that wasn't shown on TV, by the way. Yeah. And you know what? When I said that...
All the housemates were just sitting there, taking it all in, enjoying what I was saying, because a lot of it is fact. This is how normal people think. So no one actually clocked what I said.
that got me removed I think I think if if I didn't break my silence here I think you could get each and every one of them housemates after they come out on the show and you go what did George say to get booted off they wouldn't have a clue because nothing it's not like i was walking around doing a nazi salute shouting the n-word or hi or you know who that would be of course wrong
But because I was just asking questions, it's very ambiguous. And that's why it doesn't quite sit right that this is warranted for, that I should be removed from the show after all. This is democracy, right? One of the key pillars of democracy is freedom of speech. If we can't ask questions, we don't have freedom of speech. What if you'd said, like, a lot of smart people haven't liked black people, which is also true. Yeah.
Well, the KKK would have believed what they believed for a reason. Whether that's a right or wrong reason is a different point. But we need to tell them, we need to hear them say their reasons and debunk them. by answering their valid questions. Then they'll start losing numbers and the KKK wouldn't exist anymore. That's how you stamp it out, by asking and answering questions. Yeah, I suppose so. I can see why they didn't publish it.
broadcast it because it just that's a difficult one then can you imagine well they're covering the ITV and the Big Brother brand I get it but But also because gender critical beliefs are protected. So it's a protected belief of someone's got to...
A woman who's a woman is a woman. You're allowed to say that now because they are just women. You can't just say, no, no, they changed something in their hair now they're a man. It's protected to say otherwise. But I don't know if it is a protected... category and i'm not having a go because i don't i don't mind you know loads of people believe the thing that you said as well i'm not having um but i don't to say hey lots of people didn't like those people
wonder why that that is and you're 23 as well i get it so so yeah and oh it's it's really throwing a spanner in the works with with life After that, so the following day, went to bed, none the wiser. I didn't think anything would come of it. I didn't even think I said anything offensive. Just the time had gone and I'd forgotten about it. But as soon as I...
Went to bed, in bed, cameras facing me, as you can see in the TV show, if you've watched it. As soon as I opened my eyes, so much as stirred, it was... would George come to the diary room immediately? And the lights weren't even on yet. I was half asleep. I was like, oh, why is it me? But everyone knew it was a chopping task day. So a couple of the other housemates were like, oh, it must be to do with the game that we're playing. I thought the same, to be honest.
So I didn't even have time to go toilet or have a shower or do my hair or anything. I took a swig of mouthwash, chucked a shirt and trousers on. stomped off to the diary room and as I left the bedroom door the door locked behind me so I thought that's weird what's that all about so then went to the diary room and I said
Big brother, what's the damage? This better be good. You just woke me up from a deep sleep. This better be good. Famous last words. Because then he said, George, before you entered a night that, I knew. That was it. This felt different to the other warnings. Straight away, first thing in the morning. Because that's what you're told when you're warned. George, before you entered the Big Brother house, you were given the house rules. And at that point...
In the program, I'm rubbing my eyes. That's not because I'm crying. Let's get that straight. I was rubbing sleep out my eyes because I knew it should go on telly. And I just had my head in my hands. What were my... family think what my friends think how am i going to get a job now it was just a travesty so much going on in my head and considering this is first thing in the morning at the end big brother said george is there anything you'd like to say and i thought i ain't apologizing
Because I can back my comments. There's a reason I said what I did. And it's not like I said anything that bad. I should have picked better words. I see how it was offensive. But again, that's only... It's not offensive to most people, I like to think. It's just offensive subjective. It's a bit offensive. Yeah, I do see. I don't really care what's offensive because who cares?
What's offensive? Yeah, well, sticks and stones may break my bones. Words will never hurt me. Where did that attitude go? Stephen Fry's famous sort of offensive. So what? So what? So I don't really care about that. But then, yeah, I can see... And I know you didn't mean it that way, but any kind of, look, a lot of...
Very clever people hate the gays. A lot of clever people hate the blacks, hate the Jews. Do they have a point? Let's discuss. That's my point of view. Yeah, I suppose. But yeah, it's like Ricky Gervais said, just because you're offended doesn't make you right. Sure.
Someone should have discussed and someone should have been there saying, well, hang on, whether it was the gays or the blacks, there's a lot of very clever people who are those things. Yeah, exactly. A lot of stupid people as well. There are more intelligent people who... don't hate jews or don't exactly and i as i say jew there's a lot of reasons to love jews i think they're great with integrating they contribute to society more than many other communities good with money
Yeah, you know how to make a penny. So I've got no crawls with them and my heart does go out to Jews that are persecuted against in this day and age. It shouldn't be happening, certainly in this country, but it does. So let's talk about it.
¶ Post-Eviction: Brand Protection and Backlash
and make it stop anyway they they walked me out the diary they said I wish I said something a bit I hate this word but iconic some Orwellian line yeah like In for me, in for me. They've all got it in for me. Nice. But I was half asleep, so give a boy a break. I just said, sorry, it's had to end like this. I'm not going to try and convince you otherwise. You're not going to revise your decision.
Which way do I leave? And that was it. And then, yeah, I smashed the fire door exit because that's how you leave. You smashed it? Yeah, well, it's a fire door and it's got this little... thing, honestly. You've got to smash it to get to the handle. That's not my anger. That's what you meant to do. See what you're trying to do, catching up. So yeah, then the thought police were there waiting for me. The Gestapo. No, a couple of guys in the welfare team.
They're like, oh, are you all right, George? No, I'm bloody not. My life is in tatters now. Well, yeah, then they walked me out to this container thing that's been renovated to look like an office. directors in there, the PR guys in there, a couple of the welfare team, mental health nurse, whatever she is. All lovely people. And that's just it. The crew are so nice. I love them all. And they love me. They said...
This hasn't been taken lightly, this decision. You were a fabulous housemate. You just crossed the line too many times. And they said they were advised by lawyers to do this. Not necessarily their call, but... Again, protecting the Big Brother brand and the ITV name. But considering it's not going out, no one knows that...
I said those things. And yes, I suppose housemates could say, oh, George said this and he didn't get thrown out. So they just protected themselves. But I just think it's a sign of the times you're not allowed to discuss things anymore. And yes, I'm not an angel. i don't expect to be canonized after this but i'm just trying to talk
I'm 23. I was in there. They knew what I was like. I was political in the rehearsal house, in the audition process. I had an opinion about everything. So they know what I was like. That was my function in the house. I'm not there to play Jack the Lad or... or be one of them divas, the flamboyant one, I'm there to spark debate. That's what I was doing.
and I got ejected for doing so. You know what also is a sign of the times I think is that when you said the gay, you know, the flamboyant thing and when you said the, you know, things like that, other housemates...
got offended on behalf of other people and all those things. But it sounds like from what you're saying, when you said the thing, you know, a lot of people hate Jews, nobody said anything. True. And this was what we discussed. The director was talking to me. The director's Jewish as well. So she... She, yeah, I listened to her and I did acknowledge that I could have picked better words and everything else. But she knows.
I didn't intend to offend. She knows that I'm not an anti-Semitic person. She knows what I was trying to say. I just said it wrong, I guess. And that's fair enough. I do think it's...
It's wrong that someone should be removed for offensive language, though. That's just my personal stance. Do you think there's any limit? Is there anything that someone could say that they'd have to go, you know what? Well, if the world was run by me... no yeah because you can sit there and call me a whatever ginger this and that and you know as i say what happened to the good old sticks and stones may break my bones words will never hurt me
You've just got to grow thicker skin, is my advice. A lot of clever people hated gingers. Didn't they used to get gingers? Funnily enough, I think Hitler did. He wouldn't allow gingers to marry one another. Don't know why. It's just the one thing you want to do. I know. Bloody Hitler, not another thing. I'm not a Nazi. It's proof. Bloody Hitler. Okay. Yeah, so then I was given a good two.
two-hour, maybe three-hour talk with the welfare guys just saying, what am I going to do? My life's on the scrap heap. I'm too big to go and get a job on the Tesco checkouts because it's like... Oh, he's from Big Brother. Oh, he got removed for offensive language. But I'm too small to necessarily make a living from the back of this. So it's a volatile place I find myself in and it's scary.
And anyone that's been cancelled, I'm sure, can relate. How do you feel now? Oh, I feel downtrodden. I feel just low. I feel hollow, like I'm rotting on the inside.
It's because all that ITV have released is that I've been removed for anti-Semitic comments. Now, that's not true to character. And anyone that knows me knows that. I stick up for it. I was counting down the days to... talk about Israel-Palestine in favour of the innocent Jews that are being persecuted against as a result of that conflict.
that wasn't shown though. It's a tough tag then, isn't it? Just anti-Semitic. I know. So it's like, it's ambiguous and it looks like I've, I've played allegiance to Hitler.
That's what it looks like because it's so unclear. So that's why I need... platforms like yours so thank you so much for having me on to give me a voice because I need people to know what I'm really like it's heartbreaking what's happened and I'm an entrepreneurial guy I roll with a punch I'll find a way but I'll tell you what After leaving that day...
The amount of support I've had from friends and strangers, it's been really touching. So anyone out there that's been giving me support, thank you so, so, so much. It really means a lot. And I vow to get back to each and every one of them. People are just nosy.
why did you get kicked you can bugger off as can the ones calling me all the swear words under the sun I really think you've got to get on first dates I think they might have you on well it's all about image is that what I want to be seen as someone who's just a TV personality now or am I going to something more serious Ryland's done alright well yeah but I'm not going to be able to get TV jobs like Ryland because
¶ Double Standards in Media Criticism
they won't want to touch me the barge pole. They still have sort of YouTube people who go on to things like first dates. True. And yeah, I wouldn't never say never, but right now it's not. on the forefront of my mind. But yeah, after I left and saw with the support, I also saw the nasty comments that had been made about me. And most ironically...
Many of them came on Big Brother's side show, Late and Live. Now on Late and Live, I don't know if you're familiar with it. It's just a small panel show, just small audience. And one of the hosts, one of the two hosts, AJ or Dudu or Will Best, they host it and they just discuss the events of the day in the house. Now, the celebrity panel made up of three celebs different each night.
normally containing one of the three of David Potts, Danny Beard, and this buzzcut freak that's been mouthing off. Each and every one of them have been so bloody nasty to me. calling me ugly every night. On the TV show? Yeah. They're calling you ugly? Yeah. They're like, oh, George. That's not calling you ugly. I don't, well, I haven't watched all of them back. That's just going about your personality.
No, because they've also had comments about my appearance. Have they? Yeah. Something like, oh, he's... Someone said, oh, it's a frightening death stare or something. Well, again, that's not calling you ugly, though. Well, Andrew, I've not watched all of them back. It's been hectic the last few days. Only because if that's what they've done. They have been offensive to me. And why was I warned against Sam again? Offensive language.
Pop Kettle Black, David Potts, Danny Beard. They've been proper putting the boot into me. And if they did that to Sam, or if I said what they've said about me to Sam, I'd get a warning. Because he'd start crying and it'd all be, I got bullied for that in school. But when it's against me, it's water for duck's back because I know I'm a man and I can take it. Now that's double standards and that's, I don't care about the comments. All these trolls, I can go and do one.
Couldn't give a toss, pardon my French. But at the end of the day, if they're punishing me for offensive language, you can't go and then fund and have people on your payroll slagging me off using offensive language. Practice what you preach. The difference is what they... would say i suppose is is criticizing someone for their immutable features right so they're someone being gay someone being black all right so all gays flamboyant
they would suggest that the joke is about their gayness. Okay, but are all gays flamboyant? No, no, I agree with you. Well, it's not homophobic. It's not about an unchangeable character trait because... It's not against him being gay. It's about him and the way he holds himself and talks and everything. He says, slay every other word, Andrew. What does slay mean? You tell me, but it's slay, biatch. One of them. That's him.
I know many, many gay people who aren't like that. So it's not homophobic. It may be offensive, but what's offensive to Sam isn't to me or you. So how am I to know? They would say, oh, that's having a go at an immutable feature because they would say it's mocking a stereotype about gay people.
whereas with you if they did say you're ugly or something like that I'd be going I've heard from comments online and stuff if they're saying that and maybe they are then fuck them because that's I hate that and that is having a go with someone's immutable features I did see a video where David Potts saying oh he just spreads negativity all the time now David Potts and Danny Beard have both been in Celebrity Big Brother themselves
So they know more than anyone that only 45 minutes of a 24-hour day in the Big Brother house is shown. Now, because, as I said earlier, my function in there was to play the... Not argumentative, but maybe the contentious one who's up for a political debate. That's my function. So the snippets you see of me are all going to be about politics or these contentious issues. Now, I crapped loads of jokes in there. I had a right laugh.
but they won't show that because that's what the wolf pack the lads are in there for the lad banter fair enough but David Potts and Danny Beard should know better
¶ Mental Health and Free Speech Advocacy
than to know that I'm not just spreading negativity 24-7. That's just the small glimpses that you're seeing of me. Just a bit of negativity. Yeah. And, well... You say negativity. I'm a realist, actually. I'm not a pessimist. I'm a realist. These people are ideologues. These people are complete lunatic ideologues. Yeah, I know. Well, the thing is, it's a shame because I liked...
David Potts, one of the guys on Late in Live, he's flamboyant, but I found him funny. When on his celebrity big brother appearance, I quite liked him. I think I voted for him to win. So to see someone like that putting the boot in every night... which is using offensive language. And as I say, if I said what he said about me to Sam, I would have got a warning. It's upsetting and shame on you because you should know better. And another thing I want to say, Andrew.
ITV are one of the flag bearers for... eradicating the mental health crisis you see all these be kind bollocks you see all these initiatives saying let's talk about mental health and all that well if you want to save men's mental health the biggest killer for men under 30 is suicide
How bad is that? We need to put an end to that. Now, you don't put an end to that by saying hashtag be kind. That does buckle. Sweet buckle. How you stop it is allowing men to be men. And to do that, you need to start... allowing them to talk about their feelings, talk about their opinions.
without fear of offending. Now, up and down the country, men are losing their jobs in all different sorts of workplaces. Could be offices, could be warehouses. They're losing their jobs because of comments they make, some of them online.
that they didn't even really mean as heat at the moment thing. Now, if we restore free speech, and by that, I mean allowing people to offend one another and just roll with a punch, get on with life, like the good old British keep calm and carry on way we used to know.
That's how you stop suicide rates going up. It's very simple. Don't talk to me about, oh, we need to start talking about our feelings and hugging one another when we see each other. No. Let men be men and talk about what they want and you'll see suicide rates fall like a lead balloon.
¶ Future Plans: YouTube and National Identity
That's a very good point. Interesting point. I've got one more question for you, but first, where can people find your channel and everything? Thank you. So I'm going to try and lean into YouTube. I've made a promise to myself. I'll never say at the end of a video. Oh, please subscribe. I don't... It's not my style. I think it's quite... Ooh, pick me, pick me. Oh, limp wrist. Whoops. But now, if you do want to support a man in need in these tough times, I would appreciate a subscribe.
It's George Gilbert YT. At the moment, prior to the show, I felt we're so fragmented and divided than ever before in this country. How can we unify the people? Because we don't share anything these days. We don't share religion. We don't share British values. We don't even share language. I think it's Whitechapel Station. Signs are not only in English, but they're in Hindi and Bengali now.
Don't share a flag anymore. Well, yeah, that's racist in itself. The only thing we share is currency. How fickle is that? If that's not a sign of the times, I don't know what is. I think we need to restore... national identity that's my mission and that's what i'm trying to achieve achieve with my youtube channel i live out in the sticks in the countryside so i've been making a lot of content prior to going on the show about glorifying rural britain that's my mission
the description of my channel. So that's what I want to achieve. I don't know whether to lean more into more of a personal, I think, give my opinions on things because that's what people want to see. Vox Populi, Vox Dei, that's what people want to see. So maybe I'll give them that. But I am going to try and shine a light on glorifying the United Kingdom because we've got such a great country, Andrew.
Richest history given more than any other country in history, in my opinion, to humanity. You know, sports is golf, rugby, football, music. There's Bowie, the Beatles with medicine, penicillin, transport, steam engine. The list goes on.
50% of all inventions in humanity have been invented in this country. And we need to be proud. A bit of patriotism, please. And that's what I'm trying to do. So if you could find it in your hearts to subscribe to my YouTube channel and maybe keep in touch with what I've got going on. I've got a few... things a few ideas bobbling around in there might write a book as well um so just keep in touch with me on youtube george gilbert yt instagram george gilbert ig

Great guy. Do you watch much Ricky Gervais stuff?
I'm actually, it's funny, I booked tickets to go and see him ages ago. And then I got the gig on Big Brother. But when I'm going to see Gervais... That'll be one day after the final. So I thought, if I don't make the, if I make the final, sorry, I won't be able to see Gervais. I was like, oh no. So that's why I wanted to get out. I love Friki Gervais. You've got a bit of the David Brett.
