You're tuned into Heat Check with Trista Quick.

Speaker 2

On this episode of the Heat Check. It's Heat Check on bet MGM tonight Baby. In this special episode, I'm going over those players who are being slept on when it comes to both prop betting and daily fantasy basketball. We're talking guys that maybe you've barely heard of, guys coming off of the bench, or guys that are actually just getting more opportunities that should make you some cash. I love this so much, cannot wait to get into it. So Nick, do me a favor and drop that beep.

Speaker 1

Trista. It is now time for Trista's Heat Check, which is the best NBA podcast on the planet. Check it out wherever you get your podcasts. I mean you know your hoops, you really do. You are getting me fired up for the NBA. Watching the games last night with you and Ryan. That was like a kid at Honukah for me, and I was always fired up. I was ready to go. So I want to hear what's on your mind tonight. What's Trista Cric got on her mind for the people?

Speaker 2

My favorite thing peage is getting people. It's play propaganda, NBA propaganda. Let's just get you into this sport in a way that only passion and bets can really do. So tonight, Peage, I wanted to talk about sleeper player props, player prop sleepers, if you will, I like it. Who you should bet on underrated NBA players that could make you money. Ooh, And the key to player props, as you know, Peag, is to find guys who can deliver before Vegas knows what hit them. For those who don't bet,

they also impact winning. Right, So if even if you're not betting on games, maybe you don't even have fantasy daily fantasy like this helps your team. This helps in terms of how that game is gonna go. Opposing teams haven't schemed for these players. They haven't maybe scouted for them fully. Maybe these are bench players that were and will be able to be productive in limited minutes. A Lah one of the players that I'm going to talk about later on in this little piece. Maybe they're starting

for the first time. Maybe they're standing in for a star that's injured and Vegas hasn't seen them. Vegas only has random, you know, scouting notes from Twitter to talk about. And one player who has just absolutely murdered his prop. I think is going to continue to because there's not a lot of tape on him. So I think in the first couple of days of the NBA season we found some guys that you might want to target in

the prop market. But also me and Peage you have been playing daily fantasy, so I was deep into the weeds on that.

Speaker 1

For that reste, I'm going to go ahead.

Speaker 2

Number one for me is Colin Sexton. I've heard this in no particular order, right. He had twenty five and two in just twenty one minutes. Fourteen and a half was his points, prop three and a half was his rebounds, both plus money. And you know what, the baby bull is coming off the bench, and let me tell you when he is in, he is going to chuck.

Speaker 1

He's a dog.

Speaker 3

He is a dog.

Speaker 2

They don't want to start him because Utah doesn't want to win games.

Speaker 3

They want vic.

Speaker 2

Yes, twenty one minutes and twenty points off the bench against the Nuggets. He only shot four threes. Now, that's not even like him. He could go off and shoot ten threes in a game. He did this whole little bull kicking the ground motion right before blowing by Yovi.

Speaker 3

Yes, and when he's in he's.

Speaker 2

Going to score, and since he's a known name, he's always going to get prop lines, which is very important.

Speaker 3

The next guy, Ben Mathrin, my lord, oh you know that's our guy.

Speaker 2

The biggest question to us yesterday was why is man Mathon not starting?

Speaker 1

He is your best player.

Speaker 3

It doesn't matter we had him in Daily Fantasy, does not matter.

Speaker 2

In twenty eight minutes, he had nineteen seven two and two steals.

Speaker 3

I think he might steal Rookie of the Year.

Speaker 2

His odds have already moved down to plus three seventy five on some books. Ben was three for seven from three seven rebounds to assist two steals in twenty eight minutes. Nineteen points. Imagine if this man starts. So if he starts and you've got your eye on the player prop market, I mean, you gotta just you gotta just hammer it. Halliburton Torta is gonna lose his job. You will Bogdanovich. And I mean the one for the Pistons. The prop to hit for him or to think about for him

is going to be his three point prope. I like that he put out twenty four to five and two and one steal in thirty four minutes but my man had six threes, six seven forward for the Pistons. Like I said, six threes and thirty four minutes. An absolute sniper, as Lebron would say, an absolute laser, sixty percent shooting from deep. I don't know why the Lakers didn't try to get him, but I digress. He's gonna get opportunities

in Detroit because of Cad and Jade n Ivy. Caid had ten assists, which was third best in the NBA. In the first couple of games, Jade n Ivy had four. This is going to be a big drive in kick offense, perimeter shooting team, and boy On is the elder statesman. I think he's gonna benefit from that like a lot. Next up is John Collins. This is kind of like a make it or break it year for John Collins or a grumblings in Atlanta that he's really not lived up

to his contract. But de Jontey Murray should help that. Dejontay Murray had eleven assists in his first game as a Hawk.

Speaker 3

What did Tree Young do? Did de Jontay Murray take away from his assists? No, he did not.

Speaker 2

He had thirteen assists added to de Jontey Murray Collins big beneficiary of that. The two are the top assist leaders in the NBA. His point prop was fourteen and a half, and he's going to go over that for some time. He had twenty four points in thirty four minutes. Vegas isn't quite sure what his role is going to

be yet, so you need to keep woke. His role is going to be big because de Jonte is going to be feeding him the rock he's and Yuka is going to be playing five, and Kapel's gonna be playing five, and he's going to be out on the perimeter now, especially without kevon Herder. Kevon Herder won't take a perimeter, you know, space from him. I think that's going to be really, really good, especially against teams with no real center like Houston. I think he's going to eat next

player Terry Rosier. I'm gonna try to get all these in. I got very excited. I did a lot of prepper Terry Rosier standing in for LaMelo ball.

Speaker 3

Just take his points.

Speaker 2

He barely hit them, but I think that was because they were blowing san Antonio out. He had twenty four six and six and thirty minutes and we don't know when LaMelo's coming back until we get word. Take a close look at his props. He is the engine behind this offense. Even without LaMelo has scores like Hayward and Oobray, So you might want to look at his assist props, look at his rebounds props. And of course, Charlotte, like I said, blew the doors off of San Antonio in

their first game. So he only played twenty nine minutes. Imagine what he would get in like a thirty eight minute game. Next up, Trey Murphy the third, a bench player sixteen nine and two sixteen points, nine rebounds, two assist in twenty four minutes off of the bench. He doesn't have a lot of props up. But this is a good daily fantasy sleeper. Yes it is, because on a night to night basis, he's going to be a low key utility player that you can get for very low money.

Speaker 3

And that's something that you got to keep your eye on.

Speaker 2

And so if you have a guy off the bench who can still be productive, he's going to get more looks, more opportunities depending on the matchup on a very loaded Pelicans team if he.

Speaker 3

Keeps playing like this or if there's an injury. Oh, jump on it.

Speaker 2

If there's an injury, jump on it. If he starts into that, he goes into the starting lineup, Oh my god. Increase usage for Trey Murphy. I don't even want to talk about all day like that. Keldon Johnson increased role small forward for the San Antonio Spurs. Many people who are not Team USA fans haven't even heard of Keldon Johnson. He had twenty eleven four and two steals in thirty minutes. He had three threes as well. His rebound prop was six and a half.

Speaker 3

He had eleven.

Speaker 2

The one thing that Beat reporters are very much saying now that Dejonte Murray is gone is he's going to be a primary scorer, but more importantly going to be the guy that clean up the gap glass And I don't think Vegas knows that yet. He had this like transformative summer quote unquote where he's looking faster, feeling more himself. He lost twenty pounds over the summer six to six wing. They played him at four last year, They're gonna playhim

at three this year. So I think that ends up being really something for him to get more rebounds because that is something that Greg Papovich has talked about as well. Fifty six percent of his minutes came up the four last season. I don't think that happens again this year. Definitely definitely target him. Next up is Terrence Davis. Oh yeah, you probably don't even know what.

Speaker 3

Team he's on.

Speaker 2

Yeah, seeing Sacramento Kings backup guard, Yes, sir. Versatile role player on a team that no one cares about. That is a daily fantasy sleeper. If I've ever seen.

Speaker 1

One great one, I've never heard of him.

Speaker 2

Fourteen to five, one and two steals and one block and twenty five minutes shot two for five from three peage.

Speaker 1

Now do you think does that when Keegan Murray comes back, will he be effected?

Speaker 2

I think that's something to look at. But Keegan's going to play three. Terrence Davis will play one on two. He's gonna consistently get twenty minutes to play a game because the Kings don't have ten guards anymore on the roster, and he's gonna do that, and he's gonna shoot a three pretty much every four minutes. He's six', four he plays a lot bigger than. That if you watch some of the highlights for the game against The. Blazers he

had some insane put back. Dunks he's, tough he lays out for, balls he's gonna poke away, steals he's gonna get rebounds like He's he's just one of those gritty utility players that you can. Find he's a real value steal for some of these daily fantasy especially if it's like a a night where it's just like The kings and a few other teams that, play definitely look at. Him my favorite one is a guy that me and you talked, About.

Speaker 3

Peage who is this?

Speaker 2

Guy who is This Santi aldama deep under the, radar under the radar for the Grizz SO i talked about, Like, okay Does vegas know who this guy? Is do they have any film of? Them how are they even setting the? Line he's? Starting but what do we do with? Them he's six, eleven twenty one year Old. Spaniard spent was the first round draft pick in twenty twenty. One has a seven to two, wingspan but he plays much smaller than his actual size in terms of just like how

he can play Without Jaren. Jackson Al dama is the new starting For he's long he shoots, threes he gets, Rebounds he's gonna get significant minutes For.

Speaker 3

Memphis he only played eleven minutes per game last.

Speaker 2

Year comes From, spain played At Loyally, maryland like we talked. About but he shoots forty percent from, three which is exactly the role The Jared jackson. Place so his player prop number was nine and a. Half he had eighteen.

Speaker 3

Points his rebound number was four and a. Half he had.

Speaker 2

Eleven the all the scouting reports said that he couldn't, rebound it appears he.

Speaker 3

Can it appears he.

Speaker 2

Can his rebound's three point prop a, half he had three a half and he had. Three this is what we call a fantasy. Steal if you can get, time if you can get props for, him take. Them those are the ones THAT i Got peeg just to have some good, stuff good. Stuff and that was our segment on under The radar player props and daily fantasy fun, stuff great STUFF i. Have the hater prop is next.
