Brake was breaking down all the biggest NBA storylines, So the heat Check. The Heat Chat was Sista cry the best podcast covering all the drama around the association.
Let's move forward. We moved to the North. The Detroit Pistons Key additions Money Williams head coach. He comes over Joe Harris and the trade Money Morris in the trade, Marcus Sasser yes in the draft, and auser Thompson in the draft as well. They lose no One but Dwayne Casey. Addition, by subtraction, the Pistons they basically clean house, got rid of Dwayne Casey. Very sad. They rebooted the reboot and they hired a player's coach. Money Williams was a little
shocked he wanted this job honestly. After coaching the Suns, I figured maybe he would wait for some other coaches to get fired before he came over and coached again. But hey, maybe is good with young players, ask DeAndre Ayton. I think he disagreed, but Jay Crowder thenk he disagree as well. I like many on a team with young players with no expectations, and they're still young enough to not fight him or are you him? You know, once you become a superstar. I think Monny Williams, you might
end up tuning him out. But they are very young, They're very athletic, They're filled with talent that has largely been untapped. Untapped talent, they are still in the beginning stages of their maturation. You take the center position for example, They've got four centers and the lowest draft pick at center is Isaiah Stewart at sixteen. They have James Wiseman, number two pick in the draft. You got Bagley in
the draft was number two. Jayalen Duran went thirteen. I like jaylen during the most out of all of them. But you're talking about four guys in the top sixteen. That is a bunch of dudes that you know, at least at one point had very high ceilings and a ton of untapped potential. This is the year, though, where you figure out who you need to keep and who you need to cut bait with. And now it's at the money to either find a way to extract that
value or to move some pieces. Rumor is it's either Wiseman or Badley this year, and I bet you, I bet you it's Wiseman. The team is obviously built around Kate Cunningham. He missed most of the last season. I saw him play against the Warriors. I think that was one of his last games. It was about a year ago. Almost today. The dude is an absolute bucket. I look for him to flourish. You saw him cooking players in the FOBA when he was in the team USA Select.
I think he could average twenty two, ten and seven. I mean, he's a guy who can legit get you a lot of assists and rebounds. Add in Jade and Ivy, who I think they're actually a little cold on Jade n Ivy right now. Hayes has been absolutely killing it in the preseason. If they can get a lot out of Killian Hayes, they can be very interesting. Can they play defense, I don't know. We'll see, but truly the excitement is surrounding around Osar Thompson and Marcus Sasser Ausser
as we know, defensive specialist. Sassar played for Houston. He's a solid shooter, he's got toughness, he's got grit. I like him a lot, think of him as like a a taller Jalen Brunson. Sasser says he models his game after Jalen Brunson. Both are gonna see minutes this year. I really like the Marcus Sasser pick up. What is the upside of the Pistons. I think they're two years away from being two years away, but they're gonna be better. They're gonna be a lot better. Maybe thirty wins. Are
they gonna get a top five draft pick. Maybe the ceiling is not much higher than their floor. I think they're still fun. They're gonna be a lot of fun to watch. I can't call what they can be, but I can call where they're head, which is probably a league pass team. We turned to one of my sleepers in the East, the Indiana Pacers. Yes, I love what they did in the offseason. I think they won the offseason. I think their top three team in terms of what they did in the draft and in free agency. So
Bruce Brown they get as a free agent. Why they wanted him at this point in their development of their team, I don't know, but he helps him a lot and I think he's a piece if they want to move him to a contender. Ben Shephard they get him in the draft from Belmont. I like him, kind of moves a little funny, but he's definitely a high character, high IQ guy. Jaris Walker in the draft, an absolute fucking beast. He can stand out and show out immediately. Then they
get Obi Toppin in the trade key subtraction. They lose out on Christward Day. Chad Buchanan, friend of Show, one of my favorite gms in the league. I don't think he gets enough respect. I love what he's done. My man Buck building around Tyrese Halliburton smartest move that you could make, because I think Tyres is a star. I think he's gonna make multiple All Star Games. I think
he could lead the league in assists. I think he's going to be able to do things that the Sacramento Kings couldn't have him do because they had dear in Fox and do I love this roster, boy, oh boy. Firstly, let me just apologize. I didn't think Miles Turner was ever going to stay on this roster. But truthfully, I don't think that any Innerpacers thought Miles Turner was going to stay on this roster. And we were wrong. We collectively, me and the Pacers were wrong. He and Tyrese Haliburton
fit like a hand and a glove. The shocking extension that he had means he'll probably be the pacer for a foreseeable future, and I kind of love it. I kind of love it. I do for most rumored to be traded. He was basically John Collins for like three years and then now job security at the same damn place. I love it. I love it for him. The Trade Machine has put him in their Hall of fame for being part of like eighty three percent of all possible
trades in the last four years. But no, no, no, no, he is now the center of the future for them. The roster is dope, y'a Miles Turner at center. You got Hallie running the point. You got Ben Mathern, who I love and explosive two or three. You got Aaron Nesmith on this team who just signed an extension. You got Buddy Heel he's probably going to be traded. They got Bruce Brown. Bruce Brown's gonna start, by the way,
Obie Toppin's gonna start right away. So Aaron Neith Smith and Buddy Heald are coming off the bench, my oh my, And then you add Ben Shephard, Oscar Tshibwe, Jeris Walker and Isaiah Wong Isaya Wong is good. By the way, Isaiah Wong's very good. He is a bucket getter out of Miami. I didn't even mention Andrew Nemhard. This is a surprise playoff team to me. This is a team that you could see be fifth in the East, sixth
in the East. Maybe I'm wrong, but I am so drinking the kool aid on the in and and the Pacers. You might as well just tell me to walk off that cliff, because I'm walking off. I am drinking that kool Aid.
