Episode description

Berries for the Holidays

  • Information about Cranberries, Blueberries, and Vitamin A
  • The Pilgrims used cranberries to prevent scurvy and we use it these days to help with urinary tract infections (UTI's) - both from Vitamin C
  • Cranberries are native to North America (new info to me)
  • Cranberries and Blueberries have phytochemicals which have potential to help with cancer prevention, cardiovascular health, and digestive health
  • Blueberries have been linked to healthy aging in multiple studies.
  • Vitamin A has been shown in studies to reduce skin cancer risk.

If you'd like a recipe for Cranberry Walnut Granola Bars leave me a comment wherever you are listening to the podcast. (website & FB Page would probably get to me the fastest)
