Episode description

Balanced Eating

I want to talk about a few things to consider when you're thinking about balance in your diet or intuitive eating.

What really does that look like?

To me, balance means that you're having a vast array of all the good things. We're talking fruit, vegetables, protein, carbohydrates, seeds, nuts, good fats, but also some of the things that are maybe more treats if that's something that you enjoy.

A lot of people go off the 80 20 rule.

So, 80% good eating 20% bad or maybe they eat clean during the week and let loose on the weekends or I have a lot of clients who do, they have two cheat meals a week where they can have whatever they want. They focus on eating really balanced and healthy foods. A lot of people these days go off intuitive eating, which means you listen to your intuition and you literally kind to eat what feels right and good for you at that time.

Intuitive eating can be really great and it's a really great balanced approach that keeps you healthy and happy and making sure that you're not restricting yourselves and you're taking away a lot of the mental aspects and issues that come along with eating and meal planning and deciding what's good for you and what's maybe not.
