Episode description

How Going from Summer to Autumn Affects Our Health

From summer to autumn, obviously we get shorter days and lower attempts and this means that there's less UV rays if the day is shorter. Means we're not outside as much, so we're not getting the same UV and the same dose of vitamin D.

That plays a big difference in your body when it goes from getting all this sunlight and fresh air to not as much.

Because there's a progressive reduction of hours of light, the change that impacts our mood and it can increase our anxiety and also our melancholy moods.

When there is less hours of light, the body becomes confused and it thinks that it needs more sleep to recover, which throws our circadian rhythms out of whack.

Circadian rhythm is the thing that regulates our sleeping patterns to help us have a good sleep or when it's not so good, maybe it is out of whack.

You might be getting more sleep because you're trying to do what's right for your body, but you wake up feeling even more fatigued. So the trick to this is you need to look at your circadian rhythm and fix it.

Make sure that you have a good sleep routine. Are you shutting down several hours before bed and putting away the screens? What are you eating before bed? What's your bedroom like?

The more you can do to regulate your sleep pattern, will help because you won't wake up feeling is exhausted.

This will obviously increase your serotonin which is going to make you feel better, it also affects your sleep patterns.Make a good routine to be outside in the sun and that you're trying to do that as often as possible.

Make sure you're giving your body all the freedom, veggies full of rich antioxidants and vitamins and minerals that we need to help to thrive, getting outside, doing things you like, making sure that you're exercising and you're really putting that time into you to make you feel better basically when we have a decreased serotonin, it can affect our mood, it can also affect our appetite and once again sleep.

Also, prioritizing a good sleep routine and prioritizing exercise routine. It is so important to prioritize time outside in the sun and the fresh air.
