Episode description

Our guest today is Dr. Daniel M. Fernandez, a Professor and Researcher from California State University Monterey Bay. Dr. Fernandez's recent research involves collecting and studying water from fog; he has deployed and maintains, with help from student assistants, a network of nearly 50 standard fog collecting devices from central to northern California.  This network first began in 2005 and has been growing and developing since that date.  It is currently the largest network of research fog collectors in the world of which we are aware.

Dr. Daniel M. Fernandez received all of his degrees in Electrical Engineering, with his BSEE from Purdue University in 1987, his MSEE from Stanford in 1988 and his Ph. D. from Stanford in 1993.  He has been a professor at CSUMB for 26 years.

On behalf of HealthCare UnTold we thank Dr. Daniel M. Fernandez for his work on collecting and studying Fog water and its future potential uses for residential homes, agriculture, and water districts.
