S3E3: Murder of Carolyn Wasilewski, the True Crime that inspired Cry Baby by John Waters
Episode description
Carolyn Loretta Wasilewski was the 14-year-old victim of an unsolved murder near her home in Baltimore, Maryland. Carolyn was part of the drape sub-culture in Baltimore, leading to papers victim blaming her for her murder.
John Waters noticed the media's framing of the case in the context of the negative aspects of Baltimore's drape youth subculture, later inspiring him to make the movie Cry Baby.
