Sn. 1, #4 Luticia Miller: How to Own Your Space and Never Stop Learning
Episode description
Not everyone takes the same route to success in male-dominated fields. Today’s guest is Luticia Miller, an executive at an energy services company in Canada. She started out as field laborer and welding apprentice and worked her way up as one of the only women in her field, having no formal degree at the time, and as a single mom. Luticia has dedicated two decades to working in industrial construction, building pipelines for the energy industry, and looks forward to future gains of the sustainable energy transition. In her position as Project Controls Manager at PTWEnergy Services, she oversees teams to manage projects budgets, schedules, and worker productivity. Luticia lives a ‘zero float’ life, she strives to make an experience of every day, and loves to explore the world with her two teenage boys. She is driven by the pursuit of lifelong learning, an interest in renewables and sustainability, and a passion for construction innovation. In this episode, we discuss owning our place in a male dominated industry and learning continuously, and Luticia shares what it has been like for her as a single working mother in the industrial construction industry. She has some advice for her 16 year old self, as well as other women looking to break through in a predominately male environment–own your right to be there! Tune in today to this inspiring episode!
