America's child poverty rate was 16% of kids nationwide as of 2020 data. While the child tax credit was a help during 2021, Congress has allowed that to lapse for most Americans who need it. Save the Children is a global organization committed to helping the poorest children around the world, reaching 197 million kids in 2020 alone. I also urge you to reach out to your representatives in Washington and urge them to fight for the inclusion of the child tax credit to be a lasting part of the American legacy so that we are able to help millions of kids, especially those in rural, black and brown communities.
