The following. Here's a production of Dallas Cowboys dot Com and the Dallas Cowboys Football Club. Cowboys flowing out of the backfield, X flomming down the sidelines. He's hanging with the Boys, presented by Wing Stuff where Flavor gets its wings. Now, your hosts, Nate Newton, Kurt Daniels, Jesse Holly, and Shannon Gross. Jesus, welcome to the worst show we are probably ever on to have on hanging with the boys right now. First though, Yes,
you're looking live and Tostito's Championship Plaza. Here's there. They are setting up Christmas out there. It's beginning to look good. Lot like it's seventy one degrees. I didn't know it was that warm. Seventy one degrees feels like seventy one high, seventy six low to night of sixty. Kurt, how are you good? Real good? Jesse? How are you surprise you showed up today? Yeah? Derek called me and said, if I don't show up today, don't show up, come back.
I'm doing good. Yeah. So that brings us to one more person. Nate, the show is yours. I'll see you tomorrow. Yeah, it's not man. The fans have done enough. The fans have no I know this is one week. You're not getting away with us. This is one week and I really read all of the Texis fans. Thank you fans. That's all I can say. If you're not gonna have the fans on calling today bringing down the raft, Hey, I'm through. Man. Jesse came in for a day. He hit me twice in the rial. You like, yo, Man,
can't call him off, you know what I'm saying. But man, his secret amra right over us. Kurt? You know, did you did you come in with an attitude against everybody? Cause, yeah, I told you to ride with me and not with Jesse. But this is what Well, nobody didn't ride against you. You told me last week no one rode the real us. That's right, and you won. That's wrong. I said, Okay, we all picked the Cowboys to win. We just didn't
pick the Cowboys to win in the fashion. And when you beat the breaks, beat the breaks, well, me and Chris had him hanging forty burger on you did. So we weren't guaranteed like yeah, wrong teeth, this is about to laugh when him a guarantee for the next so and you know What else the twitter verse wanted to know is that can you finally now say they blew somebody out? Oh yeah, this is eight? Hey what you got? What you think it was? Eight? I wonder ten? I
think it is nine? Eight? Man? Bro? They are who? That was nice? But anyway, man, can we the reason I am not pumped up because me and Chris was trying to put something. Yeah, we're not We're not gonna look to next week just yet. We got twenty cannot be pumped up. We got twenty four hours. I cannot be with Kansas City doing what they did last night. No, sir, I'm not wait till Wednesday and we'll talk about that day.
You need to close, you know, I'm not. It doesn't happen very often that you're right on this show, so taking advantage of it. Okay, let me let me ask this. You're wrong again? How many know? How many losses have the Cowboys occurred this season? Too? How many have they won this season? Six? Six, I'm correct, seven seven, seven, seven and two seven? So we have how many more games? Like? We have eight seventy two? What was that nine eight game? You got eight more games? I'm gonna be closer to
my record. I promise you than y'all will be to y'all. I had him at twelve and five, but you had I'm still in the running. I think I might have him like nine. H Jesse, I I got you six. Okay, so I'm sitting in a fight with you too. All right, what you had, Chris, they had ten and seven. I'll have to go back to the table. Okay. Well, I think I have him on my wall. I'll bring him tomorrow. All I want to say is, and I hope this don't come out wrong because Jesse said Jesse said that.
When when when when Gregory went and now I say, hey man, we got we got all. I'm strong, we got this guy. They're just pieces, they are They're just pieces, they are, But these pieces help set the tone yesterday, stop it. See see now this is the point of the show where you start spewing stuff that makes me look like the bad guy, because you know that's not true.
You know, you know the reason that guy's like Hamilton and bash them and guys like that get a chance to look like the way that they looked was solely because that offense went up twenty one points and when
they got a chance to pin their ears back. When they get a chance to pin their ears back and don't have responsibilities, don't have to worry about mistakes, don't and the opposing team's offense is playing basically one handed, having to pass the ball ninety percent at the time, then I can just I can just go get the quarterback. So don't sit here and trying to make they were in a dog fighting show. It up so bad. I
don't know you know what else it does? I mean that being up twenty one points helps you block a punt too, doesn't Jesse? Yeah, how come on, it does? You lost me? You had me, because when you're up twenty one point you can just go. You could just go get it. There's nothing that we gotta get it. No, he did. First of all, he didn't even block it. The kicker kicked into his chest like it was like his hand eye crediction. Oh my god, Jesse stopped it. Hit him in a chest, talking and that's a block.
It's a great block. Hit him in the chest. It's a block. You just said he didn't even block it with his chest. And oh that's another thing, yes, yes, that's another thing. Right, you get you get more interception that way, because they have to throw the ball kill time. He losing me, Nate, he's losing me. Back in here, Joe, back up. No, because I didn't want to talk to day and All. I know how to spur him. I know how to if I make him the bad guy, he's gonna come to his own. It took you about
six minutes and twenty three seconds. If I don't do nothing else, I'm gonna find someone said this meeting the other day and it's like this one dude standing there and it's like a crowd of like thousands of people, like a little bit of separation, and like it just says in the capture that says, y'all got me ft up. Like that's how I feel. I don't stand by myself, but I got a point and be like y'all got he messed up. Wow, I just want to hear what you said. You're a piece, and I want to hear
your I didn't say my piece. I defended my want. You wanted to defend himself. The game. The game, the game. A lot of the concerns I had going in where they took care of that about fifteen minutes, didn't take long. I mean that was crazy. They got on such a role, especially that second quarter man. Just I don't know the wrong It's like the coach said, it was just an atalant. I don't know the defensive coordinator of this team. Well, I don't know. Yeah, I don't even know the piece. Yeah,
and I don't even know the head coach. You know that. Well, but Smith, from the fact, was a teammate of mine at Carolina. Yeah. Really, yeah? How was he? How was he? He was a decent offensive linement. We always asked, why why are you playing foot ball? Like why his dad owns FedEx? Like his dad is like one of the co found he's the head coach of the of the Falcons. I was like, I'm like, it's a hundred and fifty thousand degrees in the summertime in North Carolina. Why are
you here? I just want to make my own way, Like, no, your dad made the way for you. Go that way. Yeah, he loved football. It was offensive Linemana, my team mate of Carolina. I heard that doing the pre games. I'm like, what, I'm out of call of coaches and may give me a job man in one of your front offices. Something Well, man, but anyway, I want to hear you now, what is your I'm good. They straightened me up. I was worried and the bit what I didn't see coming and what
honestly what I was most for. I figured the offense would eventually get back on track. I didn't know it was gonna get Like me and Chris were talking before the game and Dad, everything he was throwing pre game was high, at least six six to eighteen inches high. Everybody was having I was like, man, I don't know about this. And he threw that one He overthrew that one ball I think in the end zone and I was like, oh, and then but you yeah, And then I knew it. I thought it might take a game
or two to get back to this point. I didn't see that coming about. What I really was worried about was the defense and for them to do what they did on defense. And I, like you said, Jesse, they it's easier to do that when you're down twenty points, but like what still it makes me feel like that was just a phenomenaly last week. See football is such a crazy girl, because you just hit on a point, Like if that throws that interception, that's a pick six right,
and it hit to do in the chest. Last week they made that play, yeah right, This week they didn't like that. Is that is when you hear about football is a game of inches. He catches that no one's stopping him, just going to touchdown. Now things are different, They may feel different, they may call things different, they may get more tight. You know. Another thing was when Arthur Smith and Atlanta decided to go for it and taken a feel goal which would have made it seven six.
And now you don't have that momentum, giving that defense confidence that we stopped you on fourth down and you kicked the field goal. Now you gotta kick it off and make Dak had to drive it the length of the field again. And there's so many things that could happen in that moment of time. But you give me a short feel we got some momentum, we score. Now you're down fourteen three, you know. So it's all these little things that happened in the football game when it
makes it. Football is a funny, funny, funny girl. That a pick six would have been wasn't because simply because he dropped it wasn't because he didn't have a chance. Like literally they played it perfectly. They sent the blitz. They knew that that was gonna be with the hot rout was at They knew that when the hot rot come, they're gonna either run a slant or go that safety jumped that slant. I mean, he ran the route better than who was the Michael gallup. He ran slant better
than him, hit him in the chest, he dropped. It doesn't matter. They get the ball back, they go down, they score. And so that's just like football can be a crazy, crazy girl and sometimes she's with you, sometimes she burned you. Well, are you gonna say Kirk metaphorically before Jesse like cut you off and just ran Yeah,
I don't. Well anyway, good talk, good question. But it was it was pretty amazing that, you know, they went for a fourth and seven and then you know, fa on their Cowboys go for it on the same position fourth and five, where which again last week was horrible, right this week they couldn't like you said they could do being wrong. It's just and the poor little kicker, it was just like, you know what, we don't need
you today except for extra points. You just sit over there and you don't take a good place to be yeah, he's probably happy about it. Yeah that I got a check for doing five extra points and a kick a couple of kickoffs literally shorter than me, really, but his legs tree trucks like he's literally he's probably what you think. Chris five eight maybe yeah, yeah, he was a little dude. But five eight swallowed. I'm five nine. I'm five nine? Wow, man, I mean what? Yeah? Yeah, now we passed this game.
Passed this game? Wait wait, wait, wait wait, Jesse, how did you feel about the game? I loved it. I loved every minute of it. I love the fact that I knew that people were going to get on me. But it's good, It's good. That was a fun. Yes, that was a fun all the way around. And our fans, by the way, y'all are the freaking best, amazing Like that was so amazing fun. It was good to not have to worry about a game and then to have y'all jump in and and know that Nate was going
to come after us. Yea, and Ate ain't coming after y'all. I know, I'm a little disappointed, but go ahead, but no, this was this was the game I needed to see, And this just furthermore shows me that this is a different football team because last week we all questioned that, we said, what is happening, Well, what happened to that football team? Is the clock striking twelve? Is the is the character turning back into a pumpkin? Is the Clasdale
running back into mice? And they said, Nope, were still the finest chicks out here, and we're gonna go up here and just route a football team. Like literally, hold my beer because like you saw the stats they were showing them during the game. They were saying, like, up until like the four six minute mark of last week, the Cowboys at home was averaging almost four hundred and
fifty yards of total offense and forty points. Up until that point, to the six minute mark last week, they had zero points in the game and had like one hundred and something yards total offense. Now, those last couple, you know, points or whatever they scored. But this was this was a game that the world needed to see because people people had written dak Off up, you out of the MVP, conversation up, this team is out of the best team in the league. Conversation, Nope, no longer
Super Bowl contenders. And it was like, oh but wait, we right back in there, and that was just it was so sweet to see man to just go out there and compete at such a high level and and leave no doubt like there's no there's no doubt left after that football again, this is one of the best teams in all of football. How was that? The coaches getting his team and give my boy freaking Mike some love. Football whore need give my guy freaking Mike some love.
He got these troops back and step in line again. Y'all say whatever y'all want about my boy. He had a miss a mishapped last week. Y'all were ready to ship him off to the middle of nowhere to the abyss. He got those boys back on track, all three phases, bam, bam, bam, rolland and out to Mike McCarthy man coach of a year. Hi, Nate, so we've been around the table. Congratulations. You told us all week not to be worried, that you weren't worried at all, and you were right. How did you feel
about the game? I was glad, man, I was just happy. I was just happy, man, because we needed that explosive game. We needed a game where week we talked about it last week. I hadn't seen that eight at seven, at eight, maybe up close to nine, and we needed to show the world, even though it was Atlanta to see. I ain't fooling myself with a latta, you know. But when we beat a team that we should have beat him, we beat him soundly from the opening gate to closing,
you know. So I'm happy. I'm I'm excited. I'm over yard bro, I mean it. But I had more fun yesterday just talking. Now. Its to them guys over there against y'all. I'm selling y'all out the whole time. I told them I used the shinner so much yesterday till I told him, I know you guys want to listen to it, but I that's my What do you think when they when they took the coin toss and took the ball, they hadn't done that all year. You're talking
about the flipped down. I was so happy. I told him over that game over, like what I said, the game is on because if we score, they're gonna have to throw the ball. They're gonna have to throw the ball. But they came out with a little mister Patterson. They came out with him, and then all of a sudden, my mass, I've seen enough of that, seems coins I've seen and those are the little things like you don't
talk enough about, Like years passed. We were so used to this is who we are, this is what we do. We do it weekend and week out. I think you got to give coaches, even something as small as is the coin toss, they knew they needed to go out, They got some moment the last go out and hit them in the mouth first and give them some confidence back. Just little things like that, like you know, we're so used to, like, no, we want to be on defense because this is why and this is how we execute.
And then just something like that, just knowing your team and knowing what you need to do and what you don't need to do. I think you're right, Jesse. He deserves a lot of credit for everything he's done so far. Yeah, they want to be in New England Patriots. I will get the ball for We'll get the ball, get it first in the second half. You're down by the fourteen points, Like you got to get great of a defense. We used to do that all the time last year and
the year before. Oh man, well, well we will be on defense in the second half, but you down fifteen, what doesn't matter? You know? That always bothered me, man, Yeah, but setting the tone was so important, man, like at home, like you needed to come out for yourselves and just put something out there on the field that you were proud of. Remember we can do this, right, remember this. It was like, we're taking the ball and we're gonna we're gonna go down there and we're gonna bang band
band and go score a touchdown. And that's gonna be the tone setter. And and what I love about Mike McCarthy is he has been consistent and I'll, you know, say what you want about analytics and a lot. I'm not smart enough to have that analytic mindset, but he's like, fourth to five, we're going forward, fourth to seven, we're going forward. I believe enough in this team. I believe enough in my guy. I believe that my offense. We're going forward. Didn't work out last week. Guess what, they're
right back. And that's the thing, like that didn't know. That didn't scare them, They didn't run them away from what they do. They're like, now we're gonna right back to it again, Like you gonna have to show me that you can stop me on a consistent basis, because I believe more often than not that my Jimmy's and jos are better than yours, and I'm gonna go for this and fourth. And that's backbreaking, even even in the
early in the football game. That is so backbreaking to a defense is when you've got to that because the dvins always say, you know that they'll hold the fourth down, let's get the fourth down. And then you look over and they go, oh, they ain't putting. Damn, I gotta go back out here, line up, and then they get it. Then they go forth again. He said, day, they ain't putting.
That is that That is that is asserting your will on an opposing team, just just dominating the man going for the fourth down, completing it, getting it, and just leaving no doubt they did that yesterday. All right, let's take our first break when we come back. More Cowboys versus Falcons recap on the People show, Congratulations Nate. So Kurtie some help Kurt's corner early, take it away, Kurt, all right, what do you guys want to talk about? How great Grady Grady Jared's supposed to be in Dion Joe? What did you think about this? That's Wednesday name I'm talking about? Yeah, what did you think of Collins and still they figured out? Yeah? Yeah,
the guys one is better. They wasn't as good a pass rushes as I thought they would be this week. Uh they were, I think, Uh they're getting their legs up under them. I still want my man to get some better technique. Man, he's his technique has fallen off a lot. I'm talking about Collins, you know, and still
he's determined man. And so but these guys that were rushing them, you know, they they weren't no big shakes, but they did what they had to do, you know, and that run game kept kelp Us kept of stabilized, you know, he kept he kept ustep. But I'm saying, when Ceedee Lamb opened up like he did, that, that's scared that. That's scared they that scared them. Do you think, Jess, when ce Lamb came out like that, that, Yeah, the offensive coording is to be saying, what what I'm gonna
do here? I got to throw this thing. So, like Jess said, it just made guys be free to rush the pass with no responsibility looking at the run. So, and that's the biggest fear when you play the Cowboys is that how do we keep up right if I don't get early stops or I don't get an early lead. See, Denver didn't have that issue, nah, because they were playing from ahead the entire game. So it was more so
the Cowboys had to catch up to them. And not too many teams have the ability to get a lead on the Cowboys sustaining lead on the cowboys and keep leading on the cowboys where you you find yourself and and coaches and they know their personnel, they know their teams, they know what they will love. This is why you saw them pull Matt Ryan out in the beginning the fourth quarter. They knew we didn't have a chance in hell,
they think, Yeah, they knew that. Listen, we don't. We don't have the firepower to match twenty eight points, to match thirty points, to go get those kind of points. Some teams do um. And when you know your squad and you see a team over there that's rolling and they go up seven, fourteen, eighteen twenty one, you start looking around. You're saying, I don't know what we can
do to keep up. Or when you see that momentum shifting, you now change your way of approaching things and say, you know what, now we got to start shooting from the hip and just start going because they about to start rolling. And if we don't get that thing going and try to either get some long drives going and get some points on the board, now we'll find ourselves down. Because they went down eighteen points like that. Yeah, I mean it happened. They It was like they scored, then
it was the field goal. Then the Cowboys I think, came down and then they went forward. Before you know, you looked up and it was twenty one three, it was twenty eight three. And then their social media tweeted out, yeah, yeah, yeah, we know, right, twenty eighty three from the Super Bowl,
from the Super Bowl years. But this Cowboys offense, when they are able to roll like the way that they roll, they put so much pressure on the opposing team's defense as well as their offense because now you begin to
press and you're starting. Everything now becomes so so vital, Like I need this first down, I need this big play, I need this catch, I need this throw because I don't want to give it back to four in that offense, because we just don't not not too many teams have the ability to stop a Ceedee Lamb or Marie Cooper and Michael Gallup and Cedric Wilson, a Schultz Zeke apology. It's just so much coming at you. But was it all Dak figuring it out? Was it? He? He the
difference between this week and last week? Oh yeah, yeah, I mean, because I mean last week he was bad. Yeah, I mean, he couldn't hit the way side of the barn and yeah, I'm gonna tell you something, man, when you when you uh, And that's why I left out of the game so confident. But besides, you know, Jestice saw the same thing. You saw the same thing. We know at Lana didn't have that good of a team. But what we was thinking, well was, you know, okay,
they are a professional team. They have seen the remedy to what they think can beat us. But we all knew one person, Yeah and Jess have been saying that all year, all summer. Know that we in a bad way. Dak had just a bad out in. But we saw in the last few minutes of the last game before this he found this rhythm. Now Shannon said he was throwing how he threw that one pass and could have
been an intercept. After that, everything was like clicking. You knew right then, we all knew, you know, collected like it's over now, Ye, it's over. It's over. When they didn't score seven, when they had that first drive and got eighty three, I was like, I just started laughing. I said, yeah, I said, I may not win this bout big. You know, about twenty one points. I'm thinking winning about ten or eleven, I thing got really out
of hand. I'm like, and then the block punt, Yeah, I thought of you then though I thought it was something like that. I thought of you. They're like, wow, they're jested like it, you know, but I ain't know. He just gonna contigue my boy with the chess movies. I'm just messed. That was a great lot. That was a great job. But what the because I was the same way, because they their first two drives they moved the ball, yes, and I thought, man, here, this is
gonna be a shootout. What changed? I mean, why why did they just you know, their offers just got stalled after that, after that miss sport down, they couldn't do anything. When my ain team said, I played on when we wasn't good, and I'm just being honest, when we wasn't good, and we came out there in that first quarter and we give you to everything we got and it didn't see and it don't phase that team. Then you just kind of go into I'm planning to survive and I'm
telling you when it did not work. When they did that and the interception didn't happen, and all of a sudden they just they went in survival on count I'm on film. I'm gonna trying to do my job. The good guys gonna be the good guys. And those just called the pieces, those pieces really become pieces. They got a bunch of pieces. They got some growing to do. We still do two. We're not there defensively, but they got some growing to do. They got to get some players.
Even at fourteen to three, they knew it was done. They knew Man, they knew, And I think that's why Arthur Smith went for us earlier. He didn't, Yeah, instead of taking those six three and making it seven to six, he knew that we got to manufacture something to put them back on their heels, because if we give the ball back to them, I don't I don't have the hogs on this deep inside of the ball to stay with those guys. And it was, it was. It was
chumming the water. They knew it, We knew it. And as long as Dak was standing upright, they didn't have a chance. They didn't have a chance. And and your biggest fear was Grady Jared on our left guard. That was your biggest fear. And uh and Dionne Jones is good at for leader as he is. I knew when you look at the film. He ain't no straight ahead guy. You need to be able to blitz him. He needed to be able to run from sideline and sideline. He
ain't like Michael. You can put Michael sometime. Come. Michael got great hand work. You can you you can go at him and he still can be serviceable. But Dean Jones, you you go at him. It's in the story. What about six three, two hundred twenty pounds twenty five It's in the story. They secondary a j. Terrell, good guy
good But that's that's kind of ye. Yeah, So that's what gave me all the hope in the world, because, like I said, I didn't know the deviens coordinated like last we following the week before, I knew they defens according Now I know he's gonna come up with something, but I thought we were still beat him. You know, Is that frustrate your all that because then the Broncos
lose at home to the Eagles. I mean, is it kind of like that strange lady talked about that strange lady he talked about you know what, and I heard Brian brought us say this, and it made perfect sense. I just look at now like hindsight is twenty twenty. I look at the Denver game as a loss that we are really if we're being honest, we really should have already had. We weren't supposed to go to Minnesota
and win. We weren't. We were not supposed to go to missi But with Cooper Rush, we weren't supposed to go to Minnesota and win. But we did. And so it was like you just swapped out the loss the laws that you should have had in Minnesota. You swapped out the loss that you didn't have. Again you shouldn't have had against Denver. But every now and again you just run into those to those moments where you just were off. And I said this in my pregame show.
I just found it hard to believe that Dak would play that bad two games in a row like that was horrible. He had a thirty four passer rating, get a quarterback rating at the end of that game up to the six minute point of that game. He is too good mentally, physically, emotionally, spiritually, as a leader, as a player, as a person to be that bad two weeks in a row. Something like if he just played fifty percent better, that will keep us in this football game.
You know, because when you go back and you look at like the stats, like our running game didn't dominate them. Now, nah, I think we we We only had shoot Zeke hundred fourteen or something like one hundred yards like Paula had eleven for forty two. Zeke was eleven for forty one. Uh Chlory Committ came in it was six for twenty and Dak had five yards. So you didn't you didn't have this dominant performance. And even when you look at Dak in the passing, you know he had almost three
hundred yards, but it was just so efficient. It was so and and when you get to stop and get a short field, when you get a block punt and get a touchdown, you're talking about now those are two possessions where you have to go very far. One you have to go at all. I said, you lost an entire possession of plays that could have made these numbers
look even more a body. But when you get plays like that, and you get the turnovers, because I consider a stop or fourth down to me a turnovers a turnover, So you get you get that as well as you get the that's five turnovers, you get the three interceptions, the block punt, and a turnover on downs. I mean, you can't ask for you can't ask for a better all around day. Everybody gave you something and contributed to this win. This was and the thing that I love
that Dak was back on kind of paced with. He had one, two, three, four, five, six, six guys who had at least two receptions. That's when you know that they're dealing. When you when when that ball is moving around and everybody's getting a little bit of something, Hey, you get a little bit, You're like like the Oprah thing. You get a pass, you get a pass, you get
a pass. It makes it so hard to key in on anybody because like, oh, we're gonna key in on Kyle Pitts and make the other kids Zacharias beat us or a cage cage or somebody. You'll live with that. But you say, real, keen on the Mary Cooper. Okay, well, hey, Jesse, Jesse, that I felt victims to it because you are so right. Uh, well, get on record what Wilson was doing. Wilson been dealing. He's been dealing, bro. But It's something about when you put Gallup at that outside in the mart, that outside
and that boy dealing in the middle. See, Lamb is dealing from this from that slot. It's a whole different beast. Man, That's a whole different beast. And you I forget. This is what I forgot is when he is in trouble, when Dak is in trouble and start to move, guess who always is over. Gallup is always open. He looked like he didn't miss a beat. I'm like, he dropped that one pass with Okay, that's our boy. He go drop this touchdown, but he got that he got that
big play down on it on the one yard. How did this guy always be that guy that's open making that spectacle of a catch man? And now, and don't get me wrong, Wilson is dealing, bro. But then when you see Gallop back out there, you see him getting interview, you can you see what the guys like. Man, he's just and you got you know, and you know this, Nate, They're just some guys who are just Johnny on the
spot kind of guys. Yeah, they just always have a feeling for where that open space is, to where where the goal and there's that connection there and you can't explain it. You know, I played with a guy like that in Lauren Robinson when when he had his big he had his big year, hit Levin touchdowns that year, nine of them will because he just was open when Tony he would always like Tony scrambles, shake you moving, all that kinds of the next day you look up
Lauren Robinson wide open touchdown. You know he just infended he got paid. Babe. Still, y'all know, I'm still bitter about that. That should have been my money. But no. But there's just some guys who just always know where to be. Always Johnny on the spot when that quarterback and looking for that for that escape route and he's like there is Lamb's got that in him too, that that one touchdown or Dak just threw that duck into the back of the end zone and you know that's
he read that. He read that. This is here's what's so impressive about that. This is this is when you know Dak is just on a different level. He knew what the coverage was. D that knew what the coverage was. He knew that I didn't have much time muh ceedee Lamb knew what his route was a corner rock. I got a corner rock, got to the back pieline. But if you just watched Dak, Dak is just saying, I'm backpedal and backpedaling and backpedal line. I don't he was
to the last second. Now, if he could have, he would have stepped in and drove it, but he couldn't because the guy was I mean, he was looking down a gun barrel. But Dak was so smart to know I just need to buy time. I'm gonna retreat, retreat, retreat, and now I'm gonna throw it with some air so that when CD turns around it's not up on him quick he can happen to locate it. Yes, and I like to give my guy a chance in the back of the end zone the gulp and make that play.
And that was just to me, like that was one of the sweetest players of the day because if you watch it, that knows exactly what's about to happen. Like he begins to retreat as soon as he gets the ball because he's saying, I just need to buy a little bit of time because even in the route like this is this is when I try to tell people about route subtlety, like everything is not to be run
full speed. Well, even on that route for Amari, for a CD lamb, I gotta wait till that outside guy eats up that corner, because at the corner sees it, he just backs up right into the back of the end zone and accepts it. So I have to be a little bit patient at the line of scrimmage to allow that outside route to do what it does and then come in, which makes him makes that corner have
to jump that that that end route. So I have the backpieline all to myself because if I rushed that and he still sees it because he knows it's zero coverage. They know it zero coverage. We know it's zero coverage. So the cornerback is still playing like if he throws this slant, I'm gonna jump it, but I'm gonna hold on a little bit. And doctor said, come on, come on, okay, and this and this is this was a great thing
about it. Remember that was in the red zone. Ain't normal space, no, So you had to run this play exactly right. You had because most cooners just back up. You're in the zone. You playing your man looking at your man. But you know what, man, but once, but once that outside guy committed to that disc, not that quick end route to honor that because the ball's coming out hot, and doctor said, I need to okay, here
it goes. And he just gave it enough error because he says, CD has all that space back there to work with. I just need him to locate the football. If he locates it, I like my chances. That's fascinating. I just thoughted just threw it up. I thought, I said, man, that was sweet. I'm looking like that was sweet and like what you mean? I say, you know what? He was going to back up anyway. But when the guy was getting on him as fast as he was, that you know, as you have to have some heart to
do that. Most quarterbacks get the wagon because you got to ask some heart. Man. You gotta havesk some heart to take that because it's coming down on you many all right, Chris, I think he is telling us we need to take a break so we will be right back. This game is Planet Chiefs always significant because they started in Dallas. The Chiefs and the Hunt family and the Jones family
are really really tight. Their neighbors, if I believe so, that they're living the same. They live like down the street from one another. Places will never be able to afford to leave. They want. It's fun to drive through there in Christmas and yeah, how the other side, they won't let us in the gate. They were like, what, no, you can't even see the house. You just drive by the game trophy this weekend. Yeah, hy, yes, that's it. That's the name of the trophy. So they're they're really
good friends. This franchise and that franchise. And it's been a while since these two teams have both been good. I mean, Kansas City, I hope they didn't get it back on track. Man, this week. They that offense scares the hell out. I ain't really worried about that defense, but I mean, this could be a fifty five fifty four football game. Man, this this might be fun. Jones they got and they leave Chris Joe was in the middle to me, they leave Chris Jones in the middle.
There might be a headache for ye, but let me not say that. Then I'm like, Jesse, see well I'm saying it. You better pay attention, buyer, beware old Preston roll, thank you. Oh man, we only got a few minutes left or anything y'all wanted to cover before we because we'll take I think Jesse's did a hell of a job take phone calls tomorrow covering it. But you think you think, yeah, what y'all talk about? What I miss? We just broke down? How good? Yeah? I don't need that.
That's fodder. Did you talk about like I forgot you guys may not have forgot I forgot how good Michael Gallup is. Yeah, we talked about that that. I was worried that first ball that hit him kind of hit him in the arm and he spun. I was like, oh, that looks bad. But then that one catch that he made, I was like, Okay, I remember, I remember how Wilson's hurt. He's battling that shoulder and sho he only had one snap. Really, tanks on the sideline, Did y'all see that tank? De
Marcus long emotion. He was back out to post something about it close, yeah, said soon, yeah, and had a picture of him. So maybe next maybe this game, this game too soon to expect that. What's that tents? He was supposed to be about an eight week six around this time, So this week or next maybe it would be nice. Were you guys ever in a game like that. We're just you got on a steam roll and you just it was coming. You know, you're just that. It
was actually a quarter. It was actually against Atlanta ex actually against Atlanta. Um, we were hitting on all cylinders. I think Patrick Creep might have had a pump return in that game. Um, so another special team's touchdown. Um, yeah, I think it was. We played Atlanta at home. It was like a noon game. I remember it vividly because and the reason why I remember it because we had just signed um what was the return of small return and we had just signed Uh, he's been like a
career returning. He played one snap and I remember that because Patrick Crazon is my good friend, and he was pissed that they put him back there the return punts and he was like what And then he got hurt the first punt, the first punt he returned, he got hurt. And then PC took one of He might have two that game, or I think he had a He had a receiving touchdown. He got benched for somebody something like he thought he was gonna Nick did a story on it.
He thought he was gonna be moving in the starting lineup, but they jumped. Might have been Miles Austin over. Yeah, so he lost two starting jobs and wound up scorning. That's what it was. Yeah, he lost two starting jobs in one week and ended up having a dominating game. I think that that was a game. We just we we we jumped on Atlanta. Yeah, and Nate's like, how many? Which one do you? Yeah? I mean to talk about three four? What's the biggest butt whooping that y'all put on?
Somebody that really just stands out where y'all just like dominated, Oh man, I can't remember. I ain't lying to you. Besides, the Super Bowl gets Buffalo. That's about it. But we had some dog face. We used to wear teams down, like that's that's what I mean. We will wear you down and then take over and you know, late and the fourth you know, I don't remember, just like somebody, Yeah, how about you, Jess, y'all yeah, he said that Atlanta. Yeah, I was gonna say, did you listen? Yeah, I have
an excuse. I wasn't in here. You're sitting next to the man. But now he said that man, I'm sorry. I'm just thirty seven, twenty one. Yeah. Maybe it wasn't as Dominicans, but it just felt like it was. It might have been trash four or fourteen going to the mean Shanna, what's your biggest blowout in high school? Where you blue? I craped my pants once? You did one of them drunk bingers? Well, no that people. I pet myself in Vegas one time. Do you remember that? Wow?
Was awake. I have no excuse I got I got lost. It was like six o'clock in the morning. I'd been up all night. I met some people and I had to go. And I was into casino that I wasn't staying at and I got lost. How much you pay for her? And I didn't pay. She didn't stick around after this incident, and I was I was walking around and in the casino lights and everything looks the same, and down on the bottom floor where the swap machines are, and I couldn't find the bathroom, and I just I
just kept walking and finally found it. By the time I got there, I was done. And I walked back out and and and she was waiting on me, sitting down and I and I said, uh. She goes, what, uh spilled my spilled my beer on me? And she goes, you didn't have a beer when you left. I was like, uh. And then herd her friend got up left never saw it. So yeah, So those are the two biggest outs of Oh man, I don't Yeah. The one that stands out to me was on the we were on the losing hand.
It was a baseball game. We couldn't stop anybody talking about like sporting events. Oh sorry, I don't have any long Yeah, I don't have any stories quite like that. Hight. I guess that's an end nineteen ninety five there, Nate, Okay, remember that one? Yeah, thirty five nothing not the opener and we was up there right yep. It ever hit him for about a sixty yard and that was sweet. Yeah. Emssy, you thank them slow right, you think them done. Maybe
we'll get into this tomorrow. But Emmett, who's had a ton of rushing I mean records and years and rushing champions what are some of the gifts kind of running backs give their offensive line with some dope gifts. Yeah, we'll get into it tomorrow. Ye think about I want to know what are the gifts that Emmett gave the offensive line? First from his rushing tone? What's yeah? What's some isa toners? What's the best? What's the best? I've known something around the league? Two boy, John rig But
