The following He's a production of Dallas Cowboys dot Com and the Dallas Cowboys Football Club. Cowboys blowing out of the backfield, the flowing down the sidelines. He's hanging with the boys, presented by Windstuff. Where Flavor gets its wings. Now your hosts Jesse Holly, Kurt Daniels, and Nate Newton Victory has Richard to Monday. Whoa super Bowl? We're going? I'm that's a live look right down, thank you outside? Don't you do that? Don't you do that? Outside in
front of the Ford Center. The holiday spirit is here. It feels like Santa came a little bit early to the Cowboys. A great dominating boy getting back right gay for the Dallas Cowboys, whooping up, whoop that trick, whooping up on the Minnesota Vikings yesterday forty to three. And there are so many first times or history time that we'll get into during this uh this segment today. The segment is brought to you by Wingstop. When Flavor gets
his wings he is the three times football champion. Nate Newton, that is the Emmy Award winning Senior editor Kurt Daniels, I am Zaddi, Jesse Holly together we are hanging with the boys, the sports sports tuck equivalent of brel. People feel us when we speak. Boy, did the Minnesota Vikings feel every bit of the Cowboys coming off that definstating
lost to the Green Bay Packers. Let me say this pause put a pause on for a couple of years here in Dallas, there would be people who would come out defensively and they would do all this talking and john and and just we this and weed that, and then the game time came and they were nowhere to be found. And then this kid from Penn State University was drafted by the Dallas Cowboys. And you heard him come in and say, last week, we're gonna write this wrong.
We pissed off. We we we we trust and believe you me, you will not see what you saw last week this week, and time and time and time again. Every time this kid speaks, he don't. He don't just talk to talk, boy, do he walk the walk? And he set the tone early third play in third play in he said, hold on, the lion is back, and all that stuff that child was talking a week ago, shut it down. I am here to tell you, I'm here to talk to talk and walk the walk and he did it, and that, to me was a tone
setter for the way that this game went. And from that moment on, the Cowboys commenced to lay in a serious, I almost cussed butt whooping. I know, a serious butt whooping on the minta soda vikings forty to three, guys. We can take the show any way y'all want to take it, because it's gonna come out on the good end. Special teams, offense, defense, it don't matter. But I know, wait, wait, I know where you want to go, Nate, and I didn't want to steal your thunder, so let's get right
to it. It's usually on the second page, now, I just sorry, third page, third page, on the third page. It's at the bottom of the page. Those of you you can see this, go to my camera place for those of you can see this. Uh, look at those nails. It's good, good looking nails. Right there. It's right here. This, it's right here. I'm going the wrong way, it's right there. Time of possession. This is where Nathaniel wants to go, So I'll get out your way. Thank you, Nathaniel Newton,
thank you. I just have three things I want to say, and and this is and I know this is right. When Dak and y'all brought up the stat Friday, when Dak those thirty or less times, yep, when the Cowboys a fifty percent better on third downs, and yes, when town possession is thirty at least thirty minutes or more,
you almost guarantee to win. Let's check your stats. You're almost guaranteed third down conversion for the Cowboys yesterday twelve or seventeen seventy insane in sange time of possession the Cowboys thirty seven minutes in twenty four seconds. And before yesterday's game, when Dak Prescott throws the ball under thirty times, he was twenty four and four. As you can see, y'all.
I scratched that out and I wrote, he is now twenty five in four when he throws the ball to under twenty five times, and the Cowboys when the game I'm gonna tell you something, man, tell us, tell us, tell us that they don't see see I see you. Notice how I'm sitting him look kind of look at TV, kind of looking at because I'm so excited that you're excited. Jesse. You have a great strange way. No, No, I'm excited, bro,
Believe me. I had sought over there with Chris said, Chris, I'm gonna wreck the shoulder that because every chance I get, I'm I'm gonna bring up these statistics. But no, I'm not gonna wreck this great show that you've already put in place. But trust me, now, how do you do it any other way? Right? How do you come in as an offensive coordinator or a head coach? You know, everybody's talking about how great the defense. Let's go over we got three, they got three game tight, we scored seven.
They faltered, but your defense was rested. At halftime, we had nineteen minutes of time possession and we were six for eight on third down with eight minutes and seventy one, eight minutes and fifty some seconds about in the game. I mean in the third quarter we had uh twenty four as I got twenty four minutes time possession and we was round uh eight for ten on on on third down and Dak you know, ran the ball a couple of times. Uh. All I'm saying is you know
Genimal walked up to me, what's sweaters name? No, no, no, no sweaters. Jody Walton said, Hey, Nate. I checked the statistics. A lot of the games we win with Dad, uh we are we don't win town possession, I say, but but you do, But I say, we check the times you throw the ball. I bet she's under the thirty. I see. The way we win is as a complete team. And when we win like that, it gives our defensive chance to interact. Seven sacks yesterday, Jets seven? How many
did we How many turnovers we got? One or two? Just the one? Yeah? One we got on the one turnover? I mean, and then let me see this and I'm through. I'm gonna jess have had this right here. Thank you Anthony Brown for coming back yesterday. I'm glad God that you concussion clear up because we needed Anthony Brown yesterday. Yeah. Yes, and I'm through. I'm through. What for you guys? Was?
I mean because I've seen a lot of fans asking this, like what happened, you know against the Packers, and just it just did they wasn't there and then all of a sudden boom, It's just like it was like a perfect game, you know. And on top of that, is this something they can continue? They continue this? This kind of this, it's performance to me, it always comes down and I believe this which offensive coordinator gonna crack first? And run away from the run game. It's just this
new NFL. I thought you were gonna say, which Kellen Moore, which offensive cordinator gonna crack? You know, uh, in this new NFL, the new thing is now to run. It's crazy, you know, It's like, yeah, so, man, come on, Jesse, let's rocket dog. I mean, you started out great, you know, don't tell off. You got your book with you. My man? The goal, it's the first for what it's the first for this? I mean, wow, this this game was one
of those games. We talk about it every single year, signature games, games that you know, kind of define your season, the game that can take you to that to that next level. And for the Cowboys, I look at this game and this was quote unquote a perfect game. Um and for me, it's it was started by the side of the ball that has been carrying this team all year. Yes, and that is going to be that is going to have to be the theme for the rest of this year.
Michael Parsons in company or that the feud side of the ball and shout out to Dan Quinn this is this is so beautiful and this is what I love most about the Jersey guy dan Quinn. You know, you know, I'm parson. That's too much. Now Now I'm loving it because I know your coming at your bag. Go ahead on it's not but I just felt like I'm taking credit credit. It's okay, it's okay, it's okay from the
Jersey guy dan Quinn. Right, but you go out last week and you falter to the Green Bay Pie and they they they're able to run the ball, but to be bad enough to sit there and go I gotta make this better. I gotta get those guys on defense, who the guys we heard talking about doing their own thing, not not being gap you know sound, and not being assignment sound, and guys going all over the place. Because again I told you guys this last week, it's it's
one thing to lose. It's a it's a humiliating thing when when someone can line up and run the ball six, seven, eight, nine, eleven times in a row on you and you can't stop them. That is a demoralizing situation. And dan Quinn said this will stop now. The Vikers didn't do themselves any favors by completely abandoned in the game early in
the football which was insane. But he got those troops together and the scheme that he put together to first stop the run, to get Michael Parsons back to being that aggressive go get the quarterback at the defensive end. But to me, it was his coverages on the back end. He watched film and he said, the one thing that Kurt Cussin struggles with is having to look through defenses post snap, right right, It's not the pre snap breach for him, it's the post snap. People always want to
compare Kirk Cousins and Dak Prescott. Well, it's that post snap that has given Kurk Cousins the most trouble and the way that he was designing. And the one plant they brought up on the telecast was you saw when the tight end came in motion and Jay Ryan Curse followed him. Now, most people understand and know if a titen lines out wide, comes in motion and a safety
follows him, what's the coverage man? The many snap, the ball snapped and they fell back into a cover two, and Kirk Cousins was like, oh, snap, they shifted and they changed, So what I thought was opening the longer open. I had to I had to hold onto the ball a little bit longer. Zack Wow. And so it was dan Quinn being able to put together a plan on the back and and it wasn't you know, it wasn't
all just Trayvon locked down, you know, justin Jefferson. And then there were some moments that he had no. No, no, there was some moment no because people are saying that Trayvon shut down. It wasn't a one on one thing. It was he shadowed them sometimes, but it was it was the way that he was able to design the coverages post snap that allowed the pass rushers. And you talk about you know, I always talk about, you know, the offensive linement getting gifts from their running backs. Some
of those dbs. They need to go get gifts for those guys up front because when you get out to the quarterback, like the way they got through that quarterback and Kirk Cousins, he was seeing ghosts. You saw him sometimes he was he was giving it up. He was like, man, I don't want no more parts of this. I just don't hit me no more. Seven sacks. And I think that set the tone for the Cowboys to be able to go out there and do what they wanted to do.
It started defensively. It started on the third player of the game, from the guy who stood in front of the media and says, we will fix this. That to me, that that that that made me football horny. Yeah, that made me football horny. So that's interesting you say that how dan Um tricked him. I guess, for lack of a better word, because I was wondering if if because Jefferson and Faling were kept in check for the most part, and I wondered how much of that was simply the
pasture rush. But it sounds like he schemed some things up in the secondary. Yeah, he had different looks in that secondary that looked like man, that was man, that was zone. That shifted the zone. So there was he was. He was just moving, getting guys in different areas and making Kirk Cousins have to really read through everything. It wasn't just line up and now, oh, they're just Jefferson one on one, I can go to him. It was when he there wasn't one on one situations in there.
But for the most part, it was a combination of what he was doing post snap that really helped out those guys up front and gave those guys in the back end the opportunity to to be um, you know, to be to be who they were, and not allowed those guys to get after it. Yes, yeah, they were. They were getting after the quarterback and then when they're when they're top, the offensive lineman went down. It was it was it was just now, it was. It was. It was the sack party that we were talking about
for the last couple of weeks. All right, let's go to break. When we come back from break Man, we're going to continue to have this Monday victory party. Nate slow riding all that weight and he was carrying Lashman brought him down. We hope this victory will pump him back up. Maybe he'll be up for the second segment. We'll stay here with this. Like that throw to Ceedee Lamb from Dak Prescott rolling to his right, throws a dart a dime on the sideline a day Yeah, Ceedee lamb toe tap that grabbed it, caught it. You know what makes you mad or about this game that we don't do it every week? Now? Why why we always the first for something bad? Never in the history of the NFL has the team been froze by the National Football League itself. Troy Vincent, he he getting us again? Sorry, Vincent,
got us again? When when that happened? Jess, I'm i'm, I'm I'm over that same and what what we call the time out? They ran up, they kicked to play? What what? What? What did we do wrong? What? Well? The booth back in New Yard the NFL, Troy Vincent that long even with the time out, the man and I'm through, go ahead on jet. But while we're right there, let's talk about it that that happened to be, you know, Brett Mahar, money Mahar. And by the way, happy birthday
Brett Mahar. Today's his birthday. Yeah, it's a great birthday gift. Well, talking about history yesterday, Brett Mahar huh um. He made a couple of histories yesterday. No player in NFL history has made three fifty plus yard field goals in one game. So not only did the NFL history, it's also Cowboys history. He had a fifty a fifty three and two sixty yardists. To your point, they lined up after that play and he hit a sixty yard and it kind of like
late hooked in there from sixty. And then they came back and then he hit one even better the second time he hit it down. That would have might have been good for seventy the way he hit that one. So you know, it's really amazing how he's come on that year. You don't want to tell you, We wanna tell you why. Let me tell you what. Let me tell you why. I told yall that pond and being
cut does something to your mother? When when when when you won the situation, and then you realize, wait, all I had to do was make kicks, and I make six figures every single year, and I wasn't doing that. Let me get my mind right, and he got his mind right, and the perfect storm happened for him. You guys were at training camp where we had Lahouraha and all the other people that training camp. Who was
