Speaker 1

The following He's a production of Dallas Cowboys dot Com and the Dallas Cowboys Football Club, blowing out of the backfield, flooding down the sidelines. He's hanging with the boys, presented by Wing Stuff where Flavor gets its wings. Now your hosts Nate Newton, Kurt Daniels, Jesse Holley, and Hey, who's running the board today? You know I'm screening. They trying to bed. That's your boy, Cadena. You stay away for like twelve weeks. Now what are you doing? Dous said

he got tired of y'all. So, yeah, I got kicked in. That's messed up. Yeah, he loving on some e loving on from Jason Garrett. He coming in the great head coach of the Dallas Cowboys. Katie. Yes, sir, thanks thanks for picking up the slack man. You know I got try I try up coach as the great coach will say. What great coach will say that Jason Garrett Cameo? Is that the music group Cameo? Or is that this is the group where this is? No, that's the app. This

is the app Cameo. You can go to cameo, select me select I don't know you can You can select me and I can give you a message to one of your pay like like a hundred bucks and about that half half. I'm twenty I'm a quarter twenty five dollars. Oh that's easy. Or you could just tweet the show and Jesse give you a personalized video message. It's not not for free this season. Um, Katy, do you know how to answer the phones? Yes? No, that's a legit question.

I wasn't being a jerk. I don't. I don't know your skill set back there, like, you've never really produced our show show on this station, in this building except hours, and you just asked you. It took Douglas eight years to figure out that we had two phone lines. I'm just saying I got you back. I don't know you took a shot. No, I'm not a legit question. And y'all think I'm taking shots eight five, five, two two nine seven. So Kaden, we're gonna try to take this.

Here's what we're doing to Kaden. You have to man the clock. So I put out a poll on Twitter on the Hanging with the Boys Twitter account h WTB. What link should fan calls be today? Thirty seconds, one minute or unlimited in a forty percent said thirty seconds, its closer to it was closer thirty one percent said

one minute, and unlimited was twenty nine percent. So, so, Kaden, when you get on the phone and they start talking at thirty seconds, you just you hang up on them, basically because a lot of people want to get in. That's right now, Okay, cool, we'll talk a little bit while you're on the phone, and then we'll figure out who we got. All right, short week tomorrow, Mama Gross will be in studio, right, yeah, studio her and Patty. I'm gonna make her bring the guitar, nice lunch, like, Yeah,

she's gonna bring Prolins. And is it Prolins or we call him Prolins, but we're contrelings too. He's from the Louisiana. Is it wrestling or rassling? It depends on how old you are. Well, why do old heads you rastling? You call it rassling? Don't you why the old heads call it rassling. It ain't rassling. It's wrestling. It's spelled wrestling, but it's rastling. If you ever watched the old Mid South wrastling, it's rastling. Tell him heads, we'll call it rastling.

A second, Well, you don't let rassling over there, y'all, y'all will call it are you can send to yourself with oldhead Nate, you're the old head category. Okay, rassling, rassling? What do we what are our We'll get into a little more tomorrow. What are our general thoughts on the bills? Kirk John Brown has eight hundred and something, y'all. I hope they're a little overrated. What was the news that

came out last night? No? No, hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on, before y'all start repeat what you just said word for I said, their defense is legit. I said, I hope they're a little overrated because they haven't beaten a whole lot. Nah. Did we not hear that last week? Did we not hear that? But they ain't played? No, It's like, y'all, we need to stop and realize that this is the NFL. Maybe that folks are playing somebody. I guess with these games, nobody, nobody

over five hundred. Wow, not gonna be a good test. You can tell. He'll follow what he come here and take shots? Not Kurt shot taking shots? Didna take a shot taking shots? Shot it? Uh Jesse's team last week taking a shot it the Sauceman teams. What I thought, I just said, you know, highest rated game and like five years in the NFL fun thirty seven carry found

he just passed Barry Sanders for what third all time. Well, with the news that we got last night, he might he might pass him at one game, pass him and Smith in one game. Uh. This this defense, the Cowboy defense, has already been a defense that's been much malign and hasn't been very sturdy in the middle. And last night they got a little less thirty year Yeah Woods, Antoine Woods, he will not be playing. He has a spring MCL.

So now your guy, Nate, you're gonna have to count a little bit of Chris Covington and will will Tristan Hill that it wasn't it Tristan Yeah, Triston Hill get a jersey this week. I don't know, Well, Tristan Hill actually be able to play this week, I hope. So if you can't this week, then when you get a jersey this week. He has been a healthy scratch. Well eight out of the eleven Gay need to burn that damn ninety seven on this team. Just burn it up.

Still yeah, because I mean Taco left and went to Miami and bawl it out, like, just get rid of that. Something wrong with that jersey. This Devin Singatory they say he can fly man for eighty four care four and nine. Well, that's right. We're supposed to be talking about the game we just lost. No, we could still we could talk about you know, we were talking about we were just talking. I'm trying to get some general feelings on the Bills, just to pass the time till Kat and can get

the phones lit up, and then I'll say this. I'll say that the Bills are a much improved, solid football team. Who's their head coach? Moron? There's still Moron? No, No, that's the guy. It's the deepest coordinator. What's his name? McDermott, jesus. I mean, but this is a solid football team. And I'll say this, this team, you're gonna it's almost repetitive. You're gonna hear a lot of the Saints that we

said the last couple of weeks, Frank Gore and Devin Singletary. No, neither one of those backs that they're not over the top. They're not Dalvin Cook right, They're not they're not that good. They're good backs, they're not exceptional. But if you don't wrap them up and tackle them, you're gonna have a long football day, which we haven't done very well this year. Josh Allen athletic and not not. He's a white quarterback athletic. No, no, no,

he's like legit athletic Jeff Driscoll type athleticism. And we struggle bringing him to the out. John Brown speech, he better get your head around. Better get your head around, because he's going up top. And of course, if you think mister Sauce himself doesn't, we all know. If he don't, we all know. We all know that Cole is as petty as they come. Yep, he's having a pretty good season too. If you think for one second he's not

sitting there like man, I want to get off. On Thanksgiving days, circled this on this reception twenty five yards, ten point seven marriage, fifty one loan, four tds. He circled that homes calendar. Yes, come on, his family's gonna be there. He's gonna be at the crib and little Elm, he's gonna be chilling. Want to show him he was worth that money. They paid, and then we talk about special teams. No, let's don't bring this, ye, let's just go to the phone Chris and Connecticut. What what's up,

Chris guy? What's up? Chris? Um? I just quickly before my comment, I want to let Channon know I called in. I think it was on Friday, and I didn't have it. You were asking me about the what's going up there here in New England? Yeah? Earth, And I just want to let you guys know that the local UH sports station up here w FA and New York, UM, they

spent a lot of time dogging Garrett yesterday. And and there's a lot of rumors, as you might know already obviously UH, that that the Giants are interested in him, and they were Oh my god, they were all just horrified you guys would be interested in that. Ah yeah, thank fulfilling the man. Hey. So so my question to you guys is is, um, you know, I get you know, we're all frustrated that the team doesn't seem to be prepared, and Garrett doesn't seem to be a chess player. He's

not thinking ahead. I'm wondering are these guys are they? And Nate you'd be able to answer this. Are they and and and Jesse? Obviously? But is this coaching staff lazier than other coach staffs or do they not? I mean, they don't seem to come up with new ideas, way to scheme people open, or just some just some wrinkles, you know. I mean you look at the at the Patriots. They played differently to every team, and it just seems like we go out there and we just look like

the same that up the same defense. And I just don't I don't understand why they don't seem to put in the extra time. And maybe I'm wrong, Maybe maybe I'm just not seeing it. Thanks for the call, Chris. What do you guess think, Nate, I'm looking at Buffalo. I'm sorry, I'm sorry. What did he say? I don't think they're lazy. People wanted to know if the coaching staff's lazy because it doesn't look like, yes, you know that. I don't think they're lazy. I think there's a ton

of time that's put in to coaching. One of the reasons why I never ever ever want any parts of coaching. Oh my god, the hours, the hours of coaching is ungodly. I used to think I wanted to do that until I got here and saw I was like, thank God, that didn't. I didn't go as a player. I knew how long I had to be here. I think about the guys who had to get here before me to make sure that I had what I needed. When I got it later than I was after, I was like, no, think, no,

thank you. I think the biggest part of it is they're not lazy. Honestly, you can't. You can't be in this league and be lazy. I will say they're stubborn, not lazy. Stubborn, stuck in their ways, unwilling to change, lack of evolution. Uh, not lazy, though I won't. I won't. I won't let that be a term that's that's used for coaching. I just know how much time, energy, and effort is put into coaching. I just think they're unwilling to change their stripes. And that is the downfall of

this football team from the coaching staff perspective. There their stubbornness and their unwillingness to change their environment, to change the way they think, to change the way that they do things. Um and relatively speaking to how the game is performed on Sundays. I'll go that far. I won't go lazy. Do you think that Garrett I think he

said it before. I mean, he came up with the Cowboys in the nineties of we're gonna do what we do and we're just gonna do it better, and so that he now is kind of Yeah, but they are having that same philosophy, but they don't have the talent to know they have the talent. What do you they have one of the best rosters in the league that they're not doing it. Don't stop. Stop, they don't have one of the most talented rosters in the league. Offensively,

I stay offensive. Yeah, I mean, but do you think Garrett's saying, Okay, this is what we do, we're going to do it and you're just gonna have to We're gonna be better than you. We're gonna have to stop it because that is work. Yeah. But that that's a level of stubbornness, right, yeah, yeah, exactly right, Yeah, that's

a level of stubbornness. No, hold on, you can't interject. Now, you were looking at the sheet when we came to you first, So now you have to wait until Kurt and I can finish what we do, yes, sir, and I'm in full alert attention. Thank y'all. Thank y'all for saying something to get him involved in this show. Jess, Yes, this is everything's just said. It's true. He forgot to add he said it. But I'm saying like this, you don't have to change the offense. Y'all guys have heard

me say this. You don't have to change the offense. Is when and how you call plays that determine things. You don't have to spend eighty I could do if I had the just the basic knowledge of coaching. I think what they do in a hundred hour was I can do my problem in eighty hours. It's what you're coaching and how you coaching it and how it trans how it transferred to your players is what counts. I've said this before. I watched Troy when several times I

get there early. When we used to be at the at the Branch, I would get there early or either I was Stephen Rcall later to night because I didn't want to be late, and I would watch Troy pull up and I was watching him on the phone. He would be talking, laughing, having all the fun in the world. But when he walked in that building. He'll walking in the first front doors. He will speak to the security guys. He'll speak to them in a professional way. I asked

him how he's doing. But by the time he went to a little second set of doors, it was a different Troy. It was a different way he thought. It was a different way he'd done things. It's how you hand to your business. Yeah, they're doing a lot of work, but is it work that transfers to the field, to the game and the adjustments that you make now that ain't happening over there because you don't see it happening. So you know, thank you, Jesse. Everything he said is right.

They're not lazy. It's just what you're doing and how you have a question. All we've heard of this offseason, in the beginning of the season, and even now you just said it, Jesse, this is one of the most talented rosters they Why do we still think that because they showed us flashes last year? Yes, this is a talented team. Every if you just go look at this year, you would be like, they can't tackle, they can't stop

the run. They can get to the quarterback, but not consistently like Amara got shut down last gat like, what's like, all right? I think that that should never ever happened to a caliber or receiver. Never ever. The only way he does not have a catch is he dropped everything that they throw to him. Number one, he should not allow it, and number two, your coaching staff should not allow it. It's no way you can stop him. I remember we played the game in that linner against the unstanders.

He was covering Mike, and they decided not to throw the Mike. It was gonna feature all and we lost that game. It was like it was no stopping Mike. It was. He never said none directly de Troy, and he never said none directly to know, but the rest of us fifty something guys had to hear it in the shower, Mike ken Lee shower. He stands in front of the shower about the crock, just cussing and going on it. During the game. We lost that. From the point we lost that game, it's like, Mike Big, don't

don't bother me trying you. I mean, you know he didn't call them me NIC's names. You know we're in the shower. We want to fight. I mean, come on, Mike, not nake it bro, But Jesse, tell me if I'm wrong. You tell me if I'm wrong. Now, you had a discussion yesterday. Do we blame coach and we blamed players? You want to blame player, Amari? That's on you. Really, that's bro. That's manoi mono. That's that. I didn't expect to hear that. Yeah, that's monoi mono right there. Come on,

you expected here, that's that's bro. You expected to hear that. That's monoi mono right there. That's that's that's you in jailhouse terms. That's you eating my food. Yeah, yeah, that's literally you eating my food. And it Stefan guilm Or had one more catch than he had one more catching them, mariyat.

I was expecting to hear you know, they should have schemed him differently, or no, no, that's one on one that ain't that ain't Stepfan Gilmore against Devin Smith or Stephan Gilmore against hum whoever else you want to put out that rad No, that's our best verse, their best. Yeah, you want me to take your one? You got You got blanked for sure, even the in exception he had

and y'all arolla. Ever hear me say this because I don't like comparison, but if they're throw that same ball that got an accepted, Mike Gurdon wouldn't let that happen. Mike Urban wouldn't let that happen. Not a play where he get his hands on that ball, or either that dB, Mike wouldn't let that happen. I looked to say, Mike wouldn't let that have. That's the first thing hit my mind, like, or wouldn't let that have? See, I figured Irby eleade

Mike Irby, he was elite. And if you take that opportunity to flick that ball out to him like that, if he wasn't gonna get it, Stephan wasn't gonna get it, even had to get a defensive offensive penalty. And see that's where I keep saying about he is elite. We love this guy, what Amar We love him. But the more I thought about it, I'm like, how Amari Cooper come out of this game? Blank? How that's that's a

player number one? First? And and I'm saying they did throw him the ball, and it's it's one thing if you tell oh he was done all right. We've been around when deep team was a double days all time Oh he was double, man. It's tough to get him when he when someone's double. They's all right, coach, how can we scheme him open? But when they just said Stefan, where he goes, you go and y'all deal with each other.

That that right there, That that goes back to that we talked about a couple of weeks ago about looking yourself in the mirror. That one on one battle like that's football, Like that is the core essence of what football is. It's a one on one battle that I must win more often than lose. And you went the entire You want to play some blame, You went the entire game and you didn't help your team at all. In the biggest catch of the game, the biggest catch

of the game, you dropped it. Oh god, that was again. If we're gonna put you in the league category, which we have, that's a catch you had to make, no matter the situation, no matter the elements, no matter any of that. If you're in that conversation, that's the catch you had to make it, especially if it was the only one you were going to get that day. That was a fourth down play. You catch that one. Who knows what happens after that. I'm going back to Shannon's

point ten. I mean, we hang on. Let's hang on. We got to take a break. I know where you going. I want to go there. We got people on the phone. We gotta pay some bills, Jeff, tell you what? But that's all right? I like, what what you selling them guys against me? As this? Okay, what what did I do? Let's go to break so we can come back and get the phone calls. All right, all right, get into a hang in there. We'll be right back. The Cowboys Way.

What you asked don't be a good

curt question, Kat, And here's the deal. Yes, sir, Literally, when they start talking, you started timer and at thirty seconds, if they haven't shut up, you just hang up on them. Okay, that's how we do it. They're not gonna get mad at you, They'll get mad at me. All right, So here's the first test. As soon as they start talking, all right, Mike and it in a thirty seconds? Ready, who is Mike and Atlanta? Okay? Who is this is? Michael?

And Kay? Start? He gets an extra ten seconds? Ok all right, go all right, I just call it as Shannon West site flash and seconds. I give you a list man, you start now, all right? Come on, man, you really writing the season off? I'm writing it off. Ain't enough to watch, I think Mike. I think Mike was for the Minnesota game on I'm telling you the Minnesota game. The Minnesota game told it should have told everybody what they needed to know. Thanks for the call, Mike.

What do you what are y'all thoughts on the rest of the season? The Minnesota gation? So everything you needed to know? Because I don't For everybody that thinks they're doing a coaching change, I don't, I don't. It ain't happened until they they out of the place. Jesse said they happen. Yeah, Jerry even said that this morning, but he doubled down. Yeah, he doubled down this morning again, Jerry. See, mister Jones, I've always called him mister John. I'm gonna continue.

Mister Jones doubled down. He like y'all thought I was hard. I'm the one making this decision. Well, he don't have He didn't have to fire Jason Garrett into the year. You don't contracts, contract, just hired a new coach. It's not like he's firing. Let me just so, it's not like Jason will. He's the way to tell people they're getting fired. That's nice how you putting it. I understand, like you don't have to go. Hey, in fact, you had to have a conversation. You don't have a contract.

Your keypad doesn't work anymore on the door at the end of the season. No more free lunch, does my keypacking me free lunch? Independent free lunch? You've getting? You gonna get yourself? Need one? I'm you are missed. The fourth and long, Hey, back to the calls, Sorry, alight, back to the call to the call. Stick to my gun, and Eric gets an extra fifteen seconds because he gotta tell us what he had for lunch as soon as these three would tell us what he had for lunch,

the cops, the stads. All right, Eric, what do you have for lunch? I had had wings from wind stop again? Yea, what I'm talking? Where you've been? All right? I got my wife to bring me some wings to work. Where is he been? Limon? Peppers? Peppers? Let's go thirty seconds? Brother, we got him talk to Where has he been? Where have you been? I've been trying to call I've been called on every week, but you guys are such a commodity. Now, thank you. We went from like five callers to like fifteen.

So he let me ask a question. Let me ask a question right quickly, right y'all. They just brought it up with the god d land Uh huh? This season? Where's going? We should ask all the callers where is this? Is you threw with the season or what? Because quick? I'm gonna be very quick, and I'm gonna say no, I'm not. I am I'm frustrated. I'm tired us losing these games to like little small details, or the teams are like they're chiming in deeper into the game plan

than we are, or what every case may be. I'm not willing to give up though this team there's two talented to just throw this right season off. We control our own destiny, so to me, there's no reason to throw the way. I just want to see the coach of the staff. I'm gonna see everybody involved to come up with better game plans. Do the little things like James Jesse, you guys are talking about yesterday. If there's incumbent weather, weather, do your research, look deeper to this

stuff so we can get the edge that we need. Man, because thirty seconds. Yeah, let me say this right here, man, I like it. Good job, ka, let me say this job. Let me say this for Jesse said, and I know what you I everybody's sitting here, no it you really think they're for the change something? I mean, come on that story, Eric, I love you call in every week, but don't you ever calling him saying you want to see them change up. That ain't happening, bro, they are

who they are now. Let me say this right here. I hope we do on side kick this week, just get you know, just change pain, just to change, just change. Hope you get on side kick this week. Do you think mister Jones calling out the coaches like that is a good thing that will maybe spur some change or is it just gonna tighten the you know up a little bit there? And nah, coach Jason gonna do what you do. Gonna be who he is? Can't the players

game in a ninthing? And hes gonna be who he is? Man? Alright, so we know who they are? Going back to do we know who they are? Well? That That's what I'm asking Going back to what Channon said earlier, We keep saying their talented, their talented talented? Why are we saying that? Why are we saying that because of what we saw last year? Or no? And the visually, like if you look at it an individual base right, if we just start going down on names on the rosters, right like

Almari Cooper top five receiver in the league. Yes, yes, yes, that's talent you would think you would think, right, Tyrand Smith still top ten tackle in this league? Right, that's right? Cool, that's talent, Yeah, Travis Frederick. But let me ask you

this is it talent like a baseball card. It's only it's only worth what the value is what somebody's willing to pay for it if they're not playing up to that, which as a collective unit, you were not living up to the standard of elite talent or some of the best talent in the league, because you're not winning games. Have you ever seen a team that had a ton of talent and they were at this level? Seventies Patriots, they used to have a premium talent, but my questions,

could not win well why, I don't know it. Obviously physically they have the talent. Is it more of a mental dog in the fight type? To me, with all the conversation is leading back to one common denominator. Coaching. It's coaching. It's coaching. If you can coach, you can get a rock to be productive. Like. That's what it

comes down to. And this is why I praise coaches like Phil Jackson, UM I praise my former college basketball coach, Roy Williams, um I praise John Klapowery, guys like that, because you know how hard it is to coach talent like that is, to coach to get like, to get a talented bunch of jokers to get in line with one mission. That that, to me, is where your coaching

takes the next level. This coaching is two things. It's it's being able to take mediocre talent or less than average talent and get it to play above the fray on a consistent basis, and then being able to take a collection of great talent and get it to mold and form into what you wanted to be like that is a unique coaching style. And this team is is I mean just littered with talented dudes, talented people. Yet we're not squeezing all of the juice out of the fruit.

There's a ton of fruit that we're not getting maximum use from. Why is that thought? And again I'm not in the room, so I don't know. But thought that Garrett was a good motivator, building a culture type guy, but it went on Sundays when it was come to game management. That was the weakness. Right, the guys are motivated, the guys are motivated. It's a good bunch of group. It's a good group. But I think he's got talent rallied.

But it didn't. It breaks apart. Now what do we do right, Because we can sit in here and say, hey man, we're gonna do this. We're gonna do this. I mean we're gonna go out there, We're gonna have all the numbers in the world. And then you go, all right, break now what now? What can I can? I can talk you a good talk, I can motivate you to the highest levels of motivation. But the one word that we keep hearing over and over and over and over is execution. I can motivate you to do anything.

How can I get you to execute it? There's a difference between motivating an application, Jesse, Can I ask a question real quick about that? Sure? So, I'm not hating on Dak at all. I think Dak's obviously up there for MVP and everything. But back in the day with Romo, you know, he'd be famous for waiting for one one second to snap the ball to set up the offense

in the right position. So do you think that has something to do with it with you know, with the play call not getting right, with Dak not switching to the correct one, because there's a bunch of times where I feel like we're either running we should be passing or is it just him not relying on the right one or is that just Romo was just special with that? Yeah, you got some people who are special with that. But you have to also have to understand where was Romo?

Where was he birth? It right? Where was he birth? What was his coach. What was a group of coaches that he had that honed into his skills. That was Sean Payton, that was Bill Belichick. That's the group that he comes from. Those were the Those are the early years of his career where he's just getting all this information and knowledge from Bill, from Sean Payton. That was the foundation of what we saw later on in his career. So once you get the foundation right now, I just

start building on top of that. Romo came from a different class than the Jason Garrett class. He came from Bill Beller, I mean from from Bill Parcels and and Sean Payton. Those two minds right there, they're they're going to challenge you to do things more mentally and then

the physical part will take place. So when you talk about what Romo was, when we saw Romo in his prime, you have to understand that the core in the base of what he learned and how he learned was from Bill and from Sean, and then everything else was just taking bits and pieces from all other places that go. But the solid foundation that he had already built with those guys. And I'll go even further to when Sean when when when the guy got hurt down with the Saints.

You noticed that Teddy Bridgewater and other other guy had big old risk fans on both Risks and Sean Payton. They said on National TV. Sean Payton's back calling the plays, where as before he would give the other guy a group or numbers and let him choose what would be the better play. That is why I keep saying to Jesse, you know, when is Dak gonna reach that level? Is he there yet? See, we can't compare Dak in in

Tony because Tony ran the team. Dak manages the team, and so I'm wondering when is Dak gonna run the team? You know? And so like this game here, that was like I told you guys, that was my secret weapon. I just knew this was the game where Dak was gonna, you know, give us those couple of runs. H make this this perfect, even a perfect checkdown boom. I'm hit Zeke right here for the first to keep this drive alive.

It's ugly. I can't get this ball down field. I mean, you got to have that feel and a lot of times yeah it may go. It may the coach may be looking at you like, but you're saying, this is what I saw, and this is what we have to do, coach. This is why we got to do it, coach. And that's why I keep ext when is he gonna be

that guy? Can't he ever be that guy? Because if he can't never be that guy, if it's another coach, it's gonna be another coach coming in, bringing another system, doing something different, and now he's a game managing another settlement, and that ain't good. The better quarterbacks were the better teams is allowed to cherish and to flourish within the system, but with their talent. And if he never develops that game, managers don't don't win games. They don't win games. And

that's the bottom line. Let's go back to the phone's Byron and Virginia. Welcome to the show. Thirty seconds gritty, Can you hear me, sir, I can't want the next shore. First of all, this last game was the first time, but I said, we need to do coach, because when he decided to go to the field goal, we could have went to the end with the end done. And I think the problem is because we've thought of me, We've got a coordinator playing a coach. My opinion thanks

for the call Byron. They playing coach. I'm telling y'all, I've never been able to to understand mister Jones out the game because he does a lot of riddles to me. You know, he never said it's nothing definite. But for the first time I understood what he said. He said, no touchdowns. This man was led to believe in his heart that we were gonna scold some touchdowns this game

versus that defense. He believed that our defense, he said, he said, our defense did what he's supposed to do because we ain't facing the real offense, not a true Tom Brady led offense. He felt that in his heart and he was saying it. And then he said what killed the day for him? What special teams. It's nowhere in the world. We should have lost this game. Man said that this year. No, no, brother, no, no, no. Look at it for what it is. Look at it

for what it is. Coach Belichick got two turnovers, which they are unguarded numbers in their favor. I'd say three. Yeah, when you miss a field goal, yeah yeah, not length from that level. If Dak would have just threw a ball here, if Dad would have just ran here, you're

looking at it, a longer, prolonged, prolonged drive. Now that sense, coach, what's the only thing, what's the only thing that can send Coach Belichick into a scrambled On defense, the only thing that ever happened over the years is a quarterback that can move around. A quarterback that can get that ball out real, real fast. That's the only thing they

ever got him. And on defense and on offense, the only thing that gets him is somebody that could get pressure up the middle of a lot of Giants, constant pressure up in the middle. Every game they have lost in the Super Bowl or big game cause pressure coming up the middle on Tom Brady. No matter how you needed to do that, then you need to do that, no matter what you had to sell out to do that, you had to do that. The game dictated that you did that. You knew that going in, and you knew

that leaving the game. Special teams, we knew. Everybody the world knew. That is why I believe the only difference that we had that they did not have was a quarterback that could move four quarterback would have got a couple of first nouns or even just threatened them with the run. I think we're looking at a different game. Now. I never discount New England. They're the best at what they do, but I do know what trips them up. So let's take I'm more call before we go to

our last break. Casey in South Carolina, Welcome to the show. Hey, thanks guys, I love the shows. Thank you you bet Um. I just wanted to talk a little bit more about

UH Sunday and after the game. I think the players do emulate Garrett because after the game, Garrett talks to the press conference and he gives excuses, and he talks about the weather and we didn't do good enough, and obviously we wanted to do better, and then our players start hashtag and tripping um and making excuses that way when all you gotta do is play smarter on the thirty. Hey Hayden with cutthroat quick? Do you think about that at a two reflects leadership. Let's go to the next caller.

Oh cool, Bob in Las Vegas, Welcome to the show. Hey, it's hard to win when you got a such two teacher as a head coach. You know, you know what happened when you went to class and you had a subch Just do whatever you wanted. No, sir, I was, I was. I was a model student. You're the only one I was like you. And this this team has no swagger. I mean they look like they just goes through the motions. You look at the Raven, the forty nine, even a Patriots, they have swagger. We just go out there,

we look lost and honestly, we talk about talent. There's three guys that are playing better, Jack Galloping Williams. Everybody else has declined from last year. Thanks for the car. That's how you do it, Bob, That's how you do it. How'd you push your Microway? Naton, no one can hear you. Tell us, Okay, we're gonna find out what he hit on and we'll see if we can get Nates to

talk about it when we come back. Lane Boys. Since eighteen sixty five, Stetson hats are American maid with pride right here in Texas, and Stetson is proud to be on the field with America's team. This seemed like we were taking a step back over the over the weeks. This seemed like we

stepped taking a step past back as players. Do you think some of the players are taking a step back and disappeared? What three are you talking? He said that, Uh, Dak gall and William Williams, William Mollie Williams ain't Terrence Terence. He's in the XFL being the best he can be. M What Williams is he talking about? Guess we ain't call no bad in three or four games. The kid before he got injured, he was doing all right now. The game he got injured, he kind of slung him

around a little bit. Yeah, all right, let's go back to the phones. Our buddy cost us in New York. What's up? Man? Hey guys. So I don't think the season is over. However, there's a caveat to that I think, and I don't. It might be blasphemous even saying this. I think we have to lose Thursday because that's the only way we'll get a new head coach, because we need a fire. I believe we have the talent and we can do it. And I'm also afraid that Amari

and Dak won't sign with this coaching stuff. Okay, thanks, Scot's talk uh listen again, talk soon. Fight all right, look y'all, y'all stop, y'all, just stop. That is not happening. I can't wish that if that happens, Jesse will run around this complex with my mom's drawers on. No, you missed that opportunity already. She didn't cover. Yeah you, yeah, you got by the first game. You didn't have to sweat the last. What's your point? I said, go ahead?

He said, go ahead. There's so much greatness that I say. We didn't tell my stuff all the time, so much said How many times have he said, especially with that, especially with that he said that that could be waiting on to see who's the next coach. Fan makes sense. He's not you believing in that too, Kurt. I don't know. It's it's a little bit conspiracy theory, but you can see the point. I mean, he's his careers. You know

he's gonna year whatever it is. I mean, he might want to know who's going to be leading him if there, if there is a change, I don't to me unless they get embarrassed in a game like way did in Green Bay. I think they ride this out because you're still on course to make the playoffs, even if you're eight and eight. Like, let me ask you this question. Okay, this is a question. This is random. Okay, is this a conspiracy? This is just a question. This is no conspiracy,

just a question. Right, dek is the franchise quarterback of this football team? Right, and we're gonna say that's for the foreseeable future, right? Yes? Do you think Steven or Jerry or any one of the Joneses come to him if this thing goes south and ask who that he want? It says, who do you want? I think it'd be smart? Yeah, who who do you like? Kind of system do you like? What right? Or says all right, Dak Between you and I, here are the five names that we're thinking. What do

you think doesn't that? Doesn't that happen either one way or the other? Question? Has he has he ascended to that part where you're in his career giving him that input where he has where he's he's in the conversation's not saying he's gonna pick them that catch coach, but they bring him in for a conversation. They're saying, we're gonna sign you. We're gonna sign you for a five or six year deal. Cooling, bam, thank you, ma'am. What do you think or is it you deal with what

we bring in here? It happened in Cleveland and how's that going? Hmm. It's a little bit of a slippery slope because you don't want players, you know, calling the shots. Yeah, but it does make sense if you want some input from the from your franchise guy. I mean, if you're paying him that money, don't you want him to have a system that he's comfortable with or that he prefers or what if they're looking at a defensive minded coach,

we cannot go that route. No, we cannot go that route defensive route or we cannot go to defense route because because if you if you won't, this is what I would ask that if I don't think the Jones is gonna ask him too much anyway, but if I were to ask Dak, my question is are you ready to go to the next level because the coach that we're bringing in here is going to ask you to be more te And I hate to go back to the game last night where the owner of Baltimore, along

with the GM and the coach said, we ain't giving this kid pieces of nothing. We ain't making him feel like he's gotta adjust. Everything we do offensively is gonna be about him. That's from the head coach to the to the offensive coordinator to the receiving coaches. And they went out and got Greg Roman, got the other coach I who've been offensive coordinator forever. They loved him dearly, but they went to him a conversation and say, no, no, this is about him. So they went and built that.

So now my question is, if Jason Garrett is not here, is Jones is willing to sell out offensively for Dak that is the question, because if you're not the average of the average, the average, I'm being honest now, y'all, the average gonna stay average. And in two years would be saying, well, you know, oh, Michael Fitch, Joel and ain't what we thought he was because Dak seemed up taking a step back. He just okay. See, because believe

it or not, it's still about that quarterback. And and and you know, everybody laughed at me yesterday We're doing a little radio show and I said, y'all, the greatest, the greatest, we think their defense played and gilmore than everything. Who got that one touchdown? Who got that one? It still was Tom Brady got that one touchdown? Who threw that Paul to this guy who hadn't caught nothing all day, who twenty seven was all over him, the little Edelman.

But when they needed it the most, they connected. So it's gonna be about that quarterback. It's true. If Dad was, if if if if he was where Rogers is today or the other elite guys, then you go get a defensive You'll get a defensive guy. We we don't need no defensive guy. All right, Let's say we can squeeze a couple more calls in before we get out of here. Scott and Jersey, what's happening? Hey, guys, what's going on? I only got thirty seconds? No hold on this, no, no, no, no, no, Scott,

you got four. This is my guy, Scott. Scott been rocking with me. Scott been rocking with me since the other station. I mean, I mean late night post game. Scott been rocking st st st go ahead on, Scott, go ahead on forty five seconds. I'm over New England, I'm onto Buffalo, and Bro, this is what's gonna happen. This is what's We're gonna blow Buffalo out. We're gonna have a great game. It's gonna kind of ease the pain. And then the next week, I don't care who we

played the next two weeks. We played Patriots in two weeks. The next two weeks, we're gonna have a gigantic game. We're gonna look good. And then to talk about the head coach getting fired is gonna kind of stimber down a little bit. And then then before you know, it's it's gonna be next year. We're gonna be at five and six again, and we're gonna be in the same exact conversation. Don't don't do that, Scott. They solve this, They have to solve this problem. That to do it,

they have to have to beat the Buffalo. Hey, thanks for taking my call. Thanks Stop? Is he wrong? If no, if this team, if if if this, If this team is not in an NFC championship game and Jason Garrett is our coach next season, I'm done with media. No, I'm gonna wear draws all next year. I don't go buy draws and wear them all. But but how do you how do you sell that? Like my thing is, how do you sell that to your fan base? And Jerry is the master there a salesman. There is no one.

I don't think that is a greater salesman then Jerry LaMarcus Jones, Jerry Marcus baby missed there. I like that, But how will you package this up? You can't. I just find it so fort and for nothing else. I don't know. If this team isn't playing in an NFC championship game, I don't know how. And again, this dude

is a marketing selling god. But I will find it hard to believe that if you can come together put together a plan that you're gonna be able to say, come out next year because we're bringing back Jason Garrett and this team is going to the Super Bowl. I don't know how you get ninety thousand people and they think all these fans that are calling in him, that are pissed off and wanting to get rid of them.

If you make it to the NFC Championship game, guess what, you're gonna be okay, and you're gonna be like, you know what, Well, let's give him a one or two year extension. Let's he got him playing. He rallied him at the right time. We got there about seventh straight wins. Yeah, seven straight wins and you're good. Watch watch watch, no, no, no no, Let's go back the phones. Our last call

of the day, Isaac and Houston thirty seconds. What's happening, hey, guys. So, as a fans perspective, I kind of feel like we can be overreacting at times. UM, I want to hear your thoughts on this. So turnovers have been awful for us. Our offenses number one in the league, or at least used to be. UM, I feel like we're hitting our

stride in a lot of different areas. But We're not doing ourselves any favors by putting our offenses in a position to win um terrible field position, no turnovers, no picks. I want to hear your thoughts on do you think Rod Marinelli Coachrashard should be more on the hot seat than they are right now? Good questions? Yes, thank oh death, they're all on the hot sea. Yeah. Man, I'm gonna

tell you something. You're talking wholesale changes. If there's a change right across the board, you you you cannot keep in of the guys. You cannot get rid of Jason Garrett. You can, I can't tell about who to get rid of, but you cannot ask this guy to walk out the door not give him a contract. Then you got guys sitting him from his staff. The next coach that comes in here, it's gonna he knows that he's not gonna have overall power, but he gonna want his staff, right.

I mean, if you walk in here as a coach and this not your staff, and then okay, you have a bad one or two seasons, then all of sadden you start getting your staff in here. Now. The eight and eight is still now, the eight and eight is still gonna be there because the players do not see your direction. Okay, this guy ain't coaching and how I want, missus Jones. So now we get a new offensive coordinator. This guy ain't coaching it, right, missus Jones. Hey, now

we get a new defensive coordina. So we two or three years in the it is of eight and eight again. So the nigga, if you decide to get rid of mister Jason Garrett, you got let this whole staff get up out of here. You gotta let him go because you want this new guy to feel like Okay, were starting fresh, we got impact players. Let's put this package together and let's golden. And the only thing that I

would come I would fight that with. And this is why this chain should have been made a while ago, because you're getting ready to give a guy thirty five plus million dollars. And if you bring in this is is a scary part if you bring in it. If you're bringing it, look at Matt Ryan, Look at all these guys who've dealt with multiple offensive coordinators. This guy's no one system his entire career. He's finally, what it seems finally to be getting this thing down, packing like Okay,

this is finally making sense. Now, if I bring in a new guy whose language is different, start all over again. I don't. And that's the scary part in it, because if we start all over again, I just gave one dude forty close to forty million dollars. Now I gotta go through growing pains with the forty million dollars a year check. But I have to write because I don't know who they're going to bring it. Now. They may

promote within it, they may do that. But if they bring in the guy and he brings in a whole new system, that now has to go back to the drawing board, and how long will that take for him to catch back up to speed of this particular new offense and be successful. So what the callers said earlier may have may makes better sense than what I'm saying, because maybe you do need to bring a defensive coach and lead that offense kind of intact. So you get

what I'm saying, Maybe that and that it might be. Yeah, but this is the scary part about, you know, letting Jason Garrett go, keeping Jason Garrett some sort of resemblance of what he's done, because I'm getting ready to give this dude a boat load of money. I'm getting ready

to give him northern of thirty five million dollars. And you know two coaches, you know two owners that are mad right now, that's in the NFC, two owners who are upset the Philadelphia Eagles rams because their quarterbacks aren't playing. So that's that's something that you have to take in consideration. What is it doing? What what what is it going

to be with my quarterback? If I bring in an entirely new offensive staff, how long will it take him for that information to correlate to having success on the field, Because now you're talking about another year, two years for him to really get ingratiated and and and have this offense downpack before we have success. That's at forty million dollars. I don't know if Jerry wants to have that forty million dollars a year. Wait, that's a lot of money to be put into a dude to wait for this

thing to transpire. And your offensive lines not getting any younger. They're starting to have health issues. Zeke, ain't getting any younger. You don't have ain't got any I'm sorry, you don't have to burst. I know you feel some kind of way, but you're gonna pick that. Look you you gonna pack. Only he was the only sweetness up in that muck in Foxborough. He was I thought he was the only clarity.

I thought he looked look good at Foxborough. Let me say this, you're about to give him Maori and Dak sixteen to eighteen million dollars thirty six to thirty nine million dollars and you have my brand and a whole new coaching staff and a whole new offense. See. I feared this yesterday. I feared I told y'all didn't want to take calls there because we knew where it was gonna go. Because y'all were like, should we talk about Buffalo?

Should we talk about the Patriots? I said, if we take calls, we know where it's going and where did it go? Straight? But that's why I said we should moved on the Buffalo. It wasn't back to this. There was only one clear and precise thing this past game that was obvious and standing out at the fourth was the day it was Ezekiel Elliott representing the star being zeek team. You know it's just that team. Well, you said before the line wasn't giving him hole. So he

but the line played. Oh they played. But see this is if you if you watch the game, which we all did, that's just a summer a phrase I used. They came out in the first every beginning of every quarter, they come out, Son of Michelle three, Son of Michelle five. Then they get us back and up. Then they started on you know, whether they completed that, they start on second quarter, son of Michelle. You know, burkhard. They were

hitting them. They was hitting them. Man is bad? Okay, both on Sorry anyway, anyway, not not the running back, but but but the announced, uh he just lost the trainer. They they now train of thought because Jess, they knew how to sprinkle in their run. We forgot about our run because we should have been able to sprinkle that in and continue to be successful. But anyway, let the caller is tell it in the way we talked today. Coach Garrett already gone. Good calls tomorrow in studio. Mama Gross,

she's bringing some treats. All right, Kurt, thanks for being here, Thank you, Jesse, thanks for being here, Nate, thanks for bringing Kayden. Finally got to be a part of the show. Can't brag on you man, Jesse, fight for you that you messed drone. But are you back Tomorrow's Douglas back with us? That's your call. Oh maybe we bring you out both in the studio and whoever your kids. William cuts back here, Okay, all right, well let's get out of here tomorrow. Well maybe we're two games and mama,

maybe we'll talk Buffalo six three six three. His his father's been ill, so he's been dad. Yeah, talk to him last night, so he said he thinks he's gonna be already, should be getting country. Wayne. Wait here, I saw I saw him on the podcast with two pretty young ladies the other day is bro Yeah, oh dad sick. But here on the podcast with two love you ladies pretty young? Thanks too? How long? How long ago? Was this? About? Three four days ago? I need to do some investigating

pretty young things too. She would you choose a bunch of hell? No? I bet she won family, he was saying. This has been a production of Dallas Cowboys dot Com and the Dallas Cowboys Football Club.
