It's always a little concerning, but at this point, I guess that's kind of party normal. Yes,

horrible for him. Lil Collins, he's not known him for him, but even though he missed last year, he didn't practice at all last week, but then had a good game, a great game. A great game gets ryaning. So he is battling a back injury, and so apparently that may be uh perhaps an ongoing thing. Now we see two where he's taking an extra day. Let's hope the guy that did pop up apparently didn't practice today was David Irving. Yeah. That kind of got me too. Yeah, and I'm not

sure what's going on there neither. The official injury reports did not come out yet, so we're not sure what's ailing David Irving. But that would that would be a that'd be a problem if he wasn't in there. Yeah, yeah, because that that that'll put pressure. Malik could go back to the three technique, but that'll put pressure on the young guys, you know, the new young guys, Neil and that and that group of guys. To Wow, would they put Neil at the three technique? Would they slide Tyrone

over and bring in Benson Mayo Wall? Would they put my man at the three technique? They've got a little bit of flexibility. Yeah, when they put uh my young Charleson in there, that three secret working inside? Yeah, I mean yeah, were you looking to get snaps and reps? You got to get on the field, and Charleson need to get on the field, That's true. Yeah, that's true. That's how Benson Mail will play a lot. Last game. Yeah, he's kind of in that deportational guy. That's far they

signed him, I guess. And he was led the team in sacks last year, which is kind of not expected. But I don't know. I guess he's just this year he's he's done when he's been asked. Just kind of filler. That's about it. That's about it, man. Wow, all right giants Jason Pea Paul did not practice today. Wow. They're listening it as a finger. I don't know if that's his finger he blew off or wow, Kurt or that's just a rest there. I don't think it's the figure.

I think he's gotten used to not having that one left. Wow. Uh. One of their tackles, Chad Wheeler, he's in concussion protocol. He did not practice today. Um Sterling Shephard was out that they've already lost just about got back his hamstring. I guess they're they're taking it easy on that. So he was he did not practice today. Um just about their entire wide receiver corps gone. So that's yes. A Port and lewis uh justin pugh A is a guy he's actually he came back. He's been out the last

couple of weeks. I get two or three with a back injury. But he's an offensive tackle that came back today. So that was somewhat notable for them. Otherwise, I guess they're not missing you assume Pierre Paul would be back, but they're not missing too much, you know, Jason pre Paul And I noticed on film, especially his last game, he got a sack but he kind of fell in on it. But he's just some seeing like he's playing

with a lot of though usiasm. And I talked to Moose Johnson about it today and uh, he said he kind of noticed that too, really, so that he's not been playing with a lot of flavor. You think that's just because of the way this season has gone, or just he's tired and just started playing overall, Well, they

see in thirty two minutes that more every game. And we talked about it at the beginning of the year when I said, man, I hope that this offense don't just grind this defense up and then and they're at that point where this defense is you know, Uh, Jenkins has missed time, Collins has been banged up and uh and so here we go. Yeah, that's the Giants offense is so bad. That's like you're saying, the defense is wearing them out? Is that that's what we're seeing now?

I mean the last few weeks, I don't think they've they've won some games. I don't think they've been particularly strong or whatever. And they the Uh, the Giants are mentally and physically shot. Yeah. Uh. With with the new coaching change, what you can only hope and ask is that that these guys continue to give maximum effort. I mean the offense you can see where guys are very discouraged. The defense is trying to hang in there. I see

number ninety eight big snacks. Uh. You know, he tries to play with a lot of enthusiasm, but that's Damon Harris. He tried to play a lot of enthusiasm. The Thomas and kid. He played well last week, but you see it grinding on them. Man, They're a team that's in disarray, and now that they got Eli back, they're gonna they're gonna come out of the gate trying to trying to

trying to make a move. Now, my question is, is the tight end situation where they've only been using one guy and uh that's that's that's the new guy ingram. Do they do they find a tight end from somewhere and try to put a tight end or do they move one of the running backs to full back and and try and you know, try some twelve personnel. They

got Rett Ellison, but I don't know much about him. Yeah, so this thing is you don't know how to play this because do the new coach cater to his defense, which I would, I would try to make sure that my defense is intact, but I definitely wouldn't come out just trying to wing it all over the place. You know. Uh, now Scandrick is out that to me that that's not a I think these young guys should be okay. As long as out front seven do what they did against

against the red Skins, I think they'll be okay. It's a question whether the urban is gonna be there. But you know, and I know him all over the place, but it's you don't know this team anymore. If it was two weeks ago, we're like, okay, they're coming out winging it one back, four receivers. You know, offensive line is messed up. But with a new coach, they may have new life. You know, we let's we kind of

focus on our offense against their defeah. Right. So now, if Jason Pierre Paul has always loved playing against the Danna's Cowboys, he's at success against up you know, yeah he has now Uh Olivier Vernon, he don't have three and three and a half sacks. I wonder if he's beat up, is he's hurt? Uh? Where he's at now snacks? He's been playing, well, we see's a run stopper. Yeah, and uh, like I said Devin Thomason, I think that rookie is I got that right to rookie from yeah,

yea from Obama. He played. He had a nice game last week against the Raiders. That front line, I mean Pro Football Focus has Hey Harrison is the third raided defensive tackle inside defender in the league. They've got Thomasons as an eighty four, Yeah, which is better than average. They've got verning better than average. They've got Pierre Paul is an average and I think given his past history, he's you know what he can bring. It seems like that front four could be should be the best in

the league. You know, Rogers played okay, Dominique Rogers. He played all right. Uh, I just don't know, man, I hate to try to be definite on something. I don't know. He just will is defense like it has in the past, shut down our quarterback. Yeah. Uh, they've shot down our run game. If you go back to the last game, can you pull the stats up on the last game our defense, their defense versus our offense. Last game, we actually wracked up three hundred ninety two yards. A lot

of that came late. I think, yes, you did. Hey, we had one hundred and twenty nine yards rushing. Get a lot of that late. They only had thirty five our passing. We had two hundred and sixty three yards passing. Statistically, that was one of our best games in the year. And so what's the school of the score score? We won nineteen to three or four yea for Dan Bailey field goals. Yeah, so we're getting the ball. They keep

us out of the end zone. Man, they they have a way that what I'm trying to say is they're not scared of us, right right, And they may think that, say, okay, they don't have Zeke and I know they ran for one hundred and twenty seven yards last week, but we ain't that team they played against vast We were better right there, front seventh saying, and never mind, we are better. So let's see what they got. They're gonna see the game playing. Let's seek to dak beat us. So, how

what's the key to shutting down that front four? That seems like the what they need to do best against his defenses? Keep those neutralize those front four guys? How do they how do they shut those guys? Now you can run against them and they're giving up more points. Don't get on, guys, and and pray that coach Lanahan believe in the run game. You know, up until last week, you know he didn't believe in the run game because he went away from it. You know, people away, they

were down, they were behind. If you're a run team, seven points don't scare you. Yeah, you know, even nine or ten points don't scare you. Unless it's two minutes or four minutes left in the fourth. Well, we were getting scared. So you know what I'm saying. Yeah, I agree. I think if you're within ten point, definitely, if you're win one possession, yes, you gotta stick with the run. Yeah, I agree. They just seems like they've gone away from

it too much, except for last week. Yeah, last week they kind of like had to make themselves believe Okay, okay, we're running. Let's try it again, and you see where we go with it, and he just got better and better. Yeah, you know, uh is it? I guess it'll be Collins

against Pierre Paul. That'd be the main matchup. That would be the main matchup because I think I think, uh, I don't think Vernon having a good a great year, and I think ty Run is ready to go take care of him, so that may be a stand still. But I just want to see what Jason Pierre Paul do it the first Yeah, Forset thirty minutes, first half. You think, you know, Collins now has twelve games under his belt or better, he's gonna be much better. And you said, Pierre Paul looks like he's just he's in

a funk. He planning, I mean, he playing, he playing, but it don't look like he just did Jason Pierre Paul because he was a run stopper and a pass Russia. Yeah, and it seemed like now he's just he's just playing. You know, it seemed like he's just out there wading in water. You know, he's just playing. So we'll see, you know what Coachus Steve Spagnola can do. We'll see can he get them going in the right direction, you know, if they come out and try to be what they've

been being past first team. We got him. Yeah, and you said Harrison, he's the big run stopper. He's like, yeah, big ninety eight. How they move? How would you move a guy that big? How do you get rid of him out of the way? Oh? But I was big too, you know, I was big too, So it was big on big man. We started grease spice so we can burn each other out the quick as you know. It was it easier to face a big, slow guy or gay Yeah, man, oh r oh my god, you can't move.

I'm gonna cull if Nate can get his hands on you. Yeah, man, oh my god, if you couldn't move, you are all mine. Oh You're always gonna eat you up for the game. Yeah. Well, they would think that, I don't know which, if it'll be mainly Um Martin or Cooper, that I'll be handling him. But with Frederick in there, you'd think they'd be able to move around that they should be able to moving. But it's it's we're going up there and what we have to do is offensively be definitely what we're trying

to accomplish. Don't don't be detoured, you know, because they get they hit us for no game, uh hit us for a loss. We just gotta get, gotta get better than next time. Get you know, just take one player at a time. Don't don't have a crazy off side, you know, at the wrong time, or hold somebody off of a big play. You know, make sure your technique is good because it's nothing worse in the world than to have a successful week like you had last week

against Washington. Then come against the Giants and because they one game trying to write the ship, don't don't don't you know right, don't be that team you feel like this is you know, Garrett went in there, he was the interim head coach. He went into the Giants in two thousand and ten and they shocked everybody in one You think, this is the Giant Super Bowl. Here are they are? They playing for it? Always spect Nolan, the head coach, think every every week for him. You know,

he's auditioning for for for his head coaching job. So he's gonna try to put some things. He can't make no big changes on offense, but he's gonna try to put his brand of what he thinks best for his team. You know, he's gonna try to put his stamp on his team. So I don't know. The only thing he could do is run it more right, be more determined to run it. You know, uh, access partner to help flip the field. If it's the safest thing to do.

If you're back on your twenty, you don't need to be trying to boom in those sixty yards and I'll keep the coverage and put it in the Swiss hand. But if you are on our forty, you know, skill on their forty. Yeah, try to put that thing inside the twenty, you know, keep it up high, make them call it. You know, if you don't, if you close in, try to put that thing inside of the ten and to get your defensive chance. You know, that's what they got to play for. That's what when you got a

dominant defense. You know, you see that a lot with Seattle. You know, they just they see where they ain't gonna get the first, but if they can get another four or five yards and put the partner in better position. They play for those four or five yards and punt and know that they defense a lot of the times either three gets you out in three downs or they can make something happen. Yeah, So it sounds like the

key for them probably like this every week. But the key for the Cowboys are going to be grinding the ball out, running it, racking up the time of position. So you think it's gonna be easier this week or harder with with facing this front four and how they're gonna be, It's definitely gonna be harder because and let unless we jump out on them, If we jump out on out on them, eli be more apt to panic

and wanted to throw the ball than the other. And then if they jump out on us, I think, you know, and I know we're talking about their defense, but man, it's all about D Lawrence. Oh yeah, if D Lawrence and we'll talk about it again tomorrow. If D Lawrence really want to show who he is, this is the game, this is it. Yeah, because you own the road, you

have a liberal hope for the playoffs. What better way than let everybody know you know, I have arrived along with my ball was we have arrived because let's say something wrong with David Irvine. Well, this is where the big boys step up. You know, you know, remember back in the day, uh I used to tell people that juh jj Watts. I would tell he good for two games. He can put the team on his back in the

stevens Ving position and win you two games. People would laugh, and then you'll see him have four sacks, you know, eighteen herds, three quarterback hits and a hip and a hit for you know, for a fumble. All of a sudden they win that game. This is where d Lawrence got to step up against a team that doesn't have a very good offensive line and win this game. He's the guy that could do it. Yeah. And with Sean Leeback, Yeah yeah, Okay, Now speaking the linebacker, trying to the

linebacker for us. As good as the Giants front four team, their linebackers seemed pretty weak. Am I wrong? Well? I think I think they got some guys hurt, and I'm not sure they're listening on their depth chart. They've got Devin Cannard who's listed as average at best by Pro Football Focus. B J. Goodson is listened to the start he maybe banged up someone. Yeah, Jonathan casill Us has listened to as their weak side guy, um and he has not been at least from a rating wise from

Pro Football Focus. He doesn't look like he's having a great year. So does that that's got to help the running cars, doesn't it? It does? But the strength is that front four. And like I said, if Olivia Vernica is a great run stopper, but if Jason pr Jason Pierre Paul is he if he gets connected, if he locks his mind in that I'm gonna play, I'm playing. I'm playing this Sunday, Collins will have his hands full. So if you got a strong front four and they

see they got some good secondary guys. Landon Collins, you know, he hasn't the great year that he had last year. He's playing. Okay, what what's his great It's great as an eighty seven point nine. He's listened to is one of the more, you know, better guys in the league. Yeah, he but every game he hasn't been locked in. He's against the Cowboys, he'll lock in. Yeah. He's listened to as the eighth best UH safety in the league. So according to them, he's you know, he's having to probably

not as good as he has in the past. For him, he's just okay, still still pretty good. But but so is if you've got a good safety sitting back there, and you've got a good front four and kind of a week linebackers, Chris, how do you defeat safety's safety is the eighth man in the box? Yeah? All we need now is for the linebackers of field the gaps and don't miss for us air everything back to college. Really, so how do you how do the Cowboys get around that?

It's called Afromar is making an eighth man up to him. Yeah, eighth man is yours brother. We get at y'all front. Come on now we need for you get some quick fucker feed or something nice. Yeah. So, like I said, man, you know a lot of a lot of weeks. I'm very definite on what I believe can happen. But I'm not gonna get the Giants too much credit. But to disregard them in their front seven would be a fatal mistake, because they do they do it. Jason Pierre Paul does

have the ability to take a takeover a game. Olivier Vernon has the ability to to sty me a game. I haven't seen him. I've never seen him take over a game like I've seen Jason Pierre Paul take over a game. You know, Landon Collins through his safety play can dictate how you play. Yeah, you know he'll make a quarterback. Think you know he's just that good. Now what they call they call the kid Jenkins, jack rabbit or I don't even think. I think he's hurt. Well,

Safety's kind of got in a position to try to stop this run. And te Wheel ran some nice routes and they had to be precise, precise. They wasn't. Normal would have got all over because I give you example at the beginning of the game and when they threw the little out to Cole Easley and

Normal was all over it. Yeah, you know him, Yeah, but where do you think Romo said a while back that you need to throw Brian open. Yes, that's trouble. How does that work? What do you explain that a little bit too? When Okay, like like back in the day, receivers got open through routes. They ran their routes. They were precise quarterbacks. This is where I'm putting the ball that you get to it now. Quarterbacks are so special that they can throw it to a certain side, you know.

They you know, if if Dad's running on the fly route, and let's say Norman get on top of him, and and and he has time to see that the quarterback where he'll underthrow it up high hill, underthrow it where Dad's can come back underneath and get it. OKAYSI yeah, position.

But now if Norman behind him, then he'll thought if Norman behind him and to the inside, then he'll throw it over there's left should If they're going down the left side, he'll threw a slighting over there's left shoulder, right over his helmet where Dad's can get it on the outside. But Dad's has to give him space. Dad's has to be closer to the closer to the numbers, you know, running the ball inside then break back out. So get a quarterback a chance to put it in

put it in there. But a good quarterback, I'll be able like like, it's not just the spots the right side of the spot. Yeah, And it's incredibly hard for a second year quarterback to do and and that, and you see. That's that's what I try to That's what I try to tell people is and I can give you a perfect example. For two years Wilson, and all Wilson had to do was get the ball to a receiver because Beast Mode was bringing it. Yeah, he was bringing it and he had he had. Now, these receivers

are good. One of them is a Detroit They kept the other one Golden Taters at Detroit. Nobody knew how good Golden Tate was. But a lot of those passes, you know, he made Wilson look good because he refused to drop it. Well, now you see Wilson, he's able to tote his team. He is ninety percent of all of the touchdowns either thrown him or running them. He's a leading rusher because now but this is third, fourth, this is fourth or fifth year. He couldn't do that

his first two and a half years. That's why I'm trying to tell you This league would teach you. If you can stay on your feet, this league will break you if you don't have something that can help you. We talked about Alway. Elway was so good. Did he get his team to a super Bowl? But he only won them when he got a great running back. I tell people, it's two things you a quarterback need. He needs you a great running back, or he needs a

great defense. He needs somebody to help him finish. And that's what That's what Zeke was given Dak was that ability to finish games so he could learn. Okay, okay, last year against Phillip coming down the stretch, he hadn't played well, but he mustered it up for just a drive and he boom. He learned something. Now he's got to learn faster because now teams are giving him different

looks coming out of the blitzing. Where's last year they when doing that, Zeke could pick half of that up or swing out of the backfield, so a lot of that was eliminated, eliminated. So you got to Yeah, I wondered too. I agree that Zeke was kind of he was a security blanket. He covered all that stuff. But I wondered, you know, Alfred Morris. It's a drop off, but it's not It's not like what I felt. Think. Yeah, I felt almost like the coaches were like, oh, we

don't have Zeke, we can't do all this. It wasn't that they couldn't do it. It's like they didn't think they could do it. No, they can't do as much. But like h Collins where Chris colin Very said other night, oh that would have been explosive play, I forget the explosive play. It's a first down. Okay, it's a first down because now if it's the first down, it keeps our defense off the field another series of plays. And if it's another first down, it keeps our defense off

the field. So that the philosophy stays the same. You may lose the explosive plays, but the philosophy stays the same. So now if I got a fresh to market, as long as I got a fresh Sean Lee who now he ain't got to run and make a hundred plays and get a blown hammy because he's only playing forty five or fifty plays a game. Yeah, yeah, so the theory still stays. The thing, you know what I'm saying. The results is gonna be the same you have with Zeke.

It's a team game. Without Zeke, it's a team game. It becomes even more of a team game without Zeke, whereas before we can lean on Zeke, right right, So, sir Douglas, hold on it. So, Douglas, do you agree with I mean, you got something you want to add take away? Now Shannon's going don't be in agreement with you. Okay, thank you, sir. They had a kid from Florida State, I can't think of his name, a strong safety who used to be up there on the line getting sacks and all that type

of stuff. They had a nice defense. Uh. And and and I don't go about the other running back one Super Bowl ninety sick. Yeah, so they had Edgar Bennett, but they had a I think he was a rookie. We should have looked him up ourselves. We forget Yeah, had their leading rushers were Edgar Bennett with an eight elevens. He turned it around for Darsey Levins. That made a huge difference. Yeah yeah, yeah, and ten touchdowns that year.

You know, you gotta have something. And even that year when uh my man Rogers put the team on his back. He had a nice defense. Now it one outstanding, but he had a nice defense. Yeah, they were They had all those injuries. Yeah, record number of injuries, but the guy who was playing in the Super Bowl was Clay Matthews.

Yeah he never They never lost their Sean Lee. Yeah yeah, and so you you you gotta give a And I was sending Sir Douglas when we was over there talking even I didn't realize how good Tony Romo was until two over halfway through his career, and I was like, oh wow, I've been burning this dude up, talking about him like a dog and those years. Yeah, what's so fun is, Sir Douglas that you were talking about him like a dog? Yeah? Man, I was, I was, man,

I was. I probably had half a Dallas hating his kid. You know, I'm for real. What people don't remember. They'll look back at his stats early in his career and they'll look at the interceptions only. I was asking Nate about what it's like for new players coming in for the Cowboys. He says, they already know you got a story you want to share.

So, you know, even even surprised me because you got guys that you know real well on other teams. And but during football season, even kind of at the football season. My conversation Neville was about us, the Dallas Cowboys. So I'm thinking other players are not telling them what we do during the season. At the football game, we can't

recreate and stuff like that. And uh, until we went to a Pro Bowl, and you gotta use your imagination, you know, help us. We was at a Pro Bowl and and so a couple of guys, you know, I don't. I didn't. I didn't even know that, you know, I knew, but I didn't know because I know him personally, but I knew him in and and not that man, you know, and we got we got this situation over in our room, man, and you know, we don't know how to make it work,

you know what I'm saying. And I'm like yeah, and so I'll sit up saying, hey, don't well you know, hey be Romeo be castling over, you know, do what you gotta do, and uh huh. They're like, man, yeah, they're excited. Man, But god league, I said, I got just ask for I can't use the player of that because I always said I never give up another player. But I wouldn't have got this certain player that was

in the Pro Bowl you can figure out who. When they saw that certain planny, they asked it up, like yeah, they explained this situation. Two hours later they came back, all three of them smiling. Fill in the blanks. Yeah, man, So that story. But I'm like, and so I asked this player. I'm like, man, I say, he said, yeah,

I know them. Man. They called me all during the year and I tell them, you know, how much fun we'll be having and stuff like that, so that you know, I told him, if you get to the Pro Bowl, we'll hang out, so you know. I was like, man, don't be telling them what we'd be doing. Man, But it was too late. Man. It seems crazy, even with the media, not just the outside stuff. You with the media seems nuts. I mean because you got a place you were in Carolina. Yeah, just you got handful of

people in there. We're here, it's you're swarm. You got people all over you all the time. Man. You you go out of town and that I didn't know. I played for the Cowboys. I came here, and I didn't know how big we were as a Cowboy nation until I took my first road trip and went through the other the other cities, hotel which where? Where was that? It didn't matter because when I first got here, you know, Cowboys was Coach Landry, the mystique, and you would get

off the bus, man, it'd be just people. What in the world? You know? Now? That's why you know I type, you know, like people said, I'm a Rabbit Dallas fan and Dada and I and I'm like, yeah you are, you know, but you're a local Rabbit Dallas. I said, you want to see some Rabbit fan go to New York? Yeah, go to Philly. Yeah, and I mean people there, man, I mean, we used to have it so bad. I don't know if it's still like we're just having so bad man too. Uh. We could never take the rec elevators.

It always had to be the service. It always had. Man, it was on in Poppet, it was on in Poppet. I mean we had security on every flow, on every flow. Yeah, it was. It was. Now that I think about it, it was. You know, I look back as an elderly man, that was an ugly situation. When I was going through it, I thought it was the most beautiful thing twenty time years old. they were. We were leaving it. I was like I needed gaulls or anything to put them out. They were like, no, it's not believing and you should be good. I was like, damn, because they'll be scared, like you could get dry socket and you need to keep this and this and this, and I actually feel really I'm now it's probably gonna be different whatever the pain. Yeah, paint starts hitting when this numbness wears all. But I'm looking in the mirror now and I'm I'm not uh, I'm not really swollen,

and I don't know. It's weird like I'm almost back to normal. I'm getting in the car. But are you what's your pain tolerance beyond a pretty high pain tolerance, like like it it has to be like really really really bad for me to I'm never taking a pain pill. I've had three hernie operations and like some tooth issues, and I've never had a pain pill. So you have some tooth issues, have hernie? Hernie is he's been doing? I got bad, I got bad. Uh, I got bad

uh having bad enamel on my teeth. So whenever, by the time they wrote they when they get cavities, they get them from the inside and by the time they show up on the outside, it's too late. So you're written You're written on the inside. Oh yeah, that explains that hernia is Louisiana. The hernia is from again some chandeliers and hotel rooms. Yeah, a lot going on below the waist in my life. That just sounds like some

of our callers. It was like Nate's trip to the Pro Bowl at when I said that, Wow, how was the show? What y'all talk about? It's still going on, believe it or not. she comes out. Her mom had to go back and get her, and like a nurse was on one side and she was on the other, and she her jaw was like four times inside. She looked like something off the Walking Dead. Just like I'm like a girl, God, I am in trouble. I'm like I'm gonna be looking like this now. There ain't no way that's happening. And they just woke me up. And like as soon as they woke me up, I was probably up like thirty seconds. I was like, Oh, I'm in good enough shape to

call the show, So see what happens. I didn't know I dropped two s bombs within the first five minutes, though, show the people your true side. Yeah, at least we got a new drop by Douglas. We have a couple. Man. I ain't depending on Sir Douglas no more. He don't have none of our guy who came from across the pond. He has none of his stuff ready for us to listen to. Oh yeah, they wanted to. They weren't gonna let Kurt do the Tommy John's ad. They wanted the

Scottish read and I haven't pulled it yet. But if you think about it, that happened right before Thanksgiving, and it's it's been pretty You've been full of every since. I've never taken a pain pill, but because they're prescribed to me, I might do it just for the show. So so that's your afe time. I'm telling us that how many times you're gonna tell us day? from swelling. But it's not swollen or anything. Trust me. Put the ice yeah, put the ice because that that yeah, that that's that's that's that's the preventive man. That's because your body gonna react. You don't know what it's gonna be a good react, my reaction or bad. So just make sure because stay all the jokes aside.
