The following is a production of Dallas Cowboys dot Com and the Dallas Cowboys Football Club. He's Hanging with the Boys, broadcasting live from Dallas Cowboys World Headquarters at the Star in Frisco. Now your host, Nate Newton, Kurt Daniels, and Shannon Gross. Oh my god, I have never been more excited for a show. I don't think that I am today. There are so many This might be our best show
because we're gonna talk about something. I'm gonna bring up some things that our fans may hate to hear, and I want to get y'all's opinions on it. We're gonna talk about our quarterback. We're gonna talk about our head coach. We're gonna talk about our tight end. We're gonna talk
about everything. Ready to man, I'm not kidding. When we won that game, I had all these and you know what, let's be honest, all these things we're planning on talk about probably won't happen if we If this show goes as it normally does, we'll probably have all these plans and then it'll totally go off the rails. How are you feeling, Kurt Good? I'm excited too. Yeah, Yeah, this is great. Yeah, bring on them playoffs. How you feel I'm proud. I'm proud of that, man, I am so
proud of that. Why let's start with that because it took me took what that was? That was sixteenth game one, career high four touchdowns, three hundred and eighty seven yards, the second most of his career, no interceptions in the game winning throw. What was that throw? About forty yards in the air? Probably? Yeah, it was nice for sure, thirty forty yards on a on a dime. But I'd say he's here. Man. We found old quarterback when we saw two years ago that moved around at extended plays.
You know that. That was so impressive to me. Now I feel like we can that we got a shot man and winning this game next week. That That's what it means to me when I see our quarterback that his uh after that the combility to be a part of the game, you know, one forced on you know it just he let it flow yesterday And I appreciate that, I really do. What what do you see different, because obviously yesterday he was a different type quarterback. He showed
you what he can do. Yeah, was the play calling different to you? Was he different where the receivers getting open? Was it just a cop no, because I don't feel like I don't feel like the Giants mailed that game in. I feel like they really no other than that one play where that linebacker gave up on Blake Jarl that. But I mean, I felt that was the most And I'll touch on this in a minute because I really
want to talk about about this. That was the most exciting meaningless game ever in now that the game happens wrong, it was not meaningless, and we'll get to that in a minute, because to me, it was meaningless up until I saw a certain thing. And I'll get to that in a minute. But what did you see in dak yesterday? Kurt Well, he, I don't know. I liked the way he handled things. He was under pressure a lot during
the day. He took four sacks again, and it wasn't like he had a clean pocket, especially with half his line out, but he moved around like Nate had talked about. You know, he scrambled out, he got out of pressure. He was directing traffic. I don't know if it's his decision or a play call him, but you know he got Beasley involved in the game, he got more, he got Jarring involved in the game more. I mean, it just seemed like a great balance attack from him. Let
me say it, say it. Jarring seven seven, recession, Beasley six, cool for five, galloped three Smith two, hearns won Schultz wan see that. That's what I'm That's how you distribute it, and that's how things happen. And in a third of those phrases because he extended yeah, I mean, yeah, he was twenty seven for forty three. Now we don't want him throwing the bottom forty three times. Now, we don't. But when he can extend four or five of those plays,
that's great. And he he he missed some throws, but he made throws when it counted. Yeah, And it looked and to me, and I was back and forth for most of the game, but did it look like he was either looking down the field more or see him down the field better, or and that maybe that's a byproduct of him extending plays and trying to keep the play alive. But to me, it just seemed like he was looking for more opportunities, like he timing finally got down in his head one two three, one two three,
four five and it wasn't there. He was. He was looking for keeping it alive for eleven, for seventeen on third. Now man for sixty five percent two and two two on four. You know, I'm proud of that bro. If he can play like that and give it self a chance, gives his team a chance. We we we we can be a threat. We can be a threat. I really
believe that. But they're just dropping back and standing up and waiting unless I receive us as just cold bloody running some some serious routes where that is what we can connect, you know what I'm saying. But when stuff don't go as well, because we're gonna teams are better. Now, it's like it's like the whole coaching staff and the whole brought us in his deal. The scouting department where it was two you know, looking at two games saying okay, this is who we may play. This is who we
may play. So they send one or two guys everywhere. Now it's like we don't throw out who ain't made it and all the guys that have made it. Now they're bringing all this information in for the coaches for them to sort through and simplify. And now it's all one focus. It's on it's on the Seahawks. It's all one unfocused. If you're talking about another game somewhere else, you ain't with the Cowboys today. You know, I'm being honest. Yeah, you know from a players point of view, you know
all that. You know, the smart reporter coming into the into the locker room said, well, what if y'all get paid, don't work that way, because if you don't get past the people you home, don't matter. Right Yeah, So the only thing that matters right now, you put all your eggs in one basket because it's Seattle. And I'll be honest with you. I think, out of all the teams that are in these playoffs, I like my chances to get Seattle, especially at home, the best. And hey, it's
not gonna be an easy game. That's gonna be because they're gonna bring it. They've been here before. I know. It's a whole new defense they're playing with basically, but it's still that same mentality. They're still coached by Pete Carroll, they still have Russell Wilson as their quarterback. They they know how to play playoff football, and it's not gonna be an easy game. It's gonna be super close one way or the other. Man. Smart football, bro, it's called
smart football. The least bad plays win the game. You know, people said, who defense you like the best? I love both defenses. But now who offense I like the best? The one that don't turn the ball over. That's who I like the best. What's wrong? Brother? I'm telling right about now? You know. That's why I told Douglas the hold of call because I you know, I don't want to. I don't want to. You can't call in and tell me unless you Darren Woodson or one of my ex teammates,
an ex football player. You can't call in and tell me about playoff football. Right. Well, the game that I went to, I went to games too. I'm talking about playing. Yeah, so I meant to me just getting on our fans and man, because I get I got a different mindset, and Dak set my mind right yesterday. So you feel good about it? Oh, come on, man, we got a chance.
Now let me ask you this. It seems like, come on, man, it seems like last come last year in Atlanta, the something happened, the switch flip from on to off, and it seems like now these last couple of games, the switch is flipped back from off to on. That right, right, sir. It's sometimes it's that's simple that it just it takes a minute to get it back, and once it clicks, it's like, all right, I got it. It makes sense again.
Let me tell you this right here, man, when we came in, y'all, it's often you never hear me go at Jason us coach Lanahan's got to be something serious. But y'all heard me say after the Atlantagan and said, fellas, we don't mess this up. You know, I said, you let this kid get hit like this and you don't
ruin one career and almost killed up another one. And and people are like, oh no, no, and once again if you not have not been it's it's like a correct It's like somebody you sitting at the light, you know, listening to your music, enjoying yourself. Then then a kind of like a tractor trader just slam into you. Don't tell your call up too bad, but the impact comes all on your body. And that's what this guy got
hit six seven times, just sacked unmercifully. That messed the kid up, and he kind of found it four or five or six games where he kind of found her a little bit. But I think this time here and thanks to the Giants, because giants ain't that good. We should have beat them. You know, we should have beat them. They ain't that good right now mentally, so we should have beat them. And when I'm glad we did. But
it helped Dak. It helped because a couple times he spent out and he overspent out, you know before he's spending so hard at one point that he almost threw itself on the ground or he'll dropped back, you know what I'm saying. Yeah, he'll take off running and just I mean he'll take off like he want to move to his right, but he'll take three or four extra steps because he trying to make sure things are clear in his mind. Yesterday he saw clearly, he saw clear
to in. You think not having Zeke there changed his I mean, you changed what the coaches thought. You know, Hey, we're gonna throw this thing. You know, we're gonna throw this thing that's you know, and maybe they went into the game to him and we're gonna throw it. We're gonna get Dak back on track, you know. But he's just as just as it makes me feel better, man, it does, it really does. Back on track. I mean,
he's played well the second half of the season. He's played okay, but but but did you see did you did you what game besides the New York Giant game that you just see saw that move around what he did yesterday? He stepped up into the pocket with clarity, He stepped up. He stepped up on two or three passes where we saw that a lot in twenty sixteen where he just stepped up and let the ball go Later, it's like he don't step up, you don't follow through.
I mean, yeah, and he's had some success, but yes or Day was so decisive. Everything he did like, Okay, I got this, I've been here before, I've done this. I just like I played. Over the second half of the season, I mean, he's had a completion percentage have been over seventy percent. He was had a one hundred plus rating in six of the eight games. He's Yeah, but go bash passes, three interceptions, four rushing touchdowns. Yeah, I understand, go back and let me see if can
I find it. That was dismissing. Oh so dismissing. I'm telling, but let me say this right here, Michael Gallup sixteen point seven average. Uh, Colby's the fifteen point seven average, Blake jard and seventeen point zero seventeen yards a catch, you know, fourteen point three yards average of twenty seven passes. When have we done it like that? Yeah, that's becomes that comes because he extended plays. Right, Hearns had one catch for forty nine. I mean that's because he extended
play ease. When when the last time we've seen Dak extend plays with his legs? You know, Yeah, he did much more of that yesterday. Yeah. And one of the things that they did in this game that they haven't done before is Cooper didn't have the best day, dropped a couple of balls, had a fumble. But you had other guys that stepped up. Blake Beasley, you know, Hearns had that big forty nine yards reception. You had other guys. Usually in the passing game, if it hadn't been Cooper,
it hadn't we haven't done well. And you had Gino Gallop stepped up. You had other guys that stepped up. Now did they step up or did Dad just see the field better? And he was able to get it where he needed to get A thing was both. I'm surprised nine different guys caught balls. Yeah, he threw to eleven overall. I didn't realize you spread it around that much. It's it's pretty so strong at the balls. All right, I got I got something I want to get. Okay,
all right, we love Dak. We think Dak did great thing. We're on the same page. I had major issues in the second half when Dak had his helmet on it and then went back out. I had even more issues in the third quarter when when the fourth quarter started, Why in the hell is Dak in the game? I don't understand this. You have your third string left tackle
on the field. You're gonna get this guy killed. You're gonna get some freak accident where he follows on the ground and somebody steps on his thumb, and then your seasons, your playoff hopes are gone. Get him out of the game. Get him out of the game. And then at the end of the game, when I saw what winning this game, the emotion on the players and what was that? Like, what did you see here? Were there? It was like that it was almost like they won a game to
get into the playoffs. It was almost like that was the game they needed to win to get in the playoffs. And it clicked in my head. I was like, the whole day I've been saying is a meaningless game. You know, it matters to the players because they don't want to put that bad tape, and this game is everything Jason Garrett has been doing. He has been building up to this moment. It all clicked yesterday. He has been building up to this one game and this one moment the
whole time he has been here. And what his message has been to these guys, be your best, no matter of circumstance, play to win the game. No matter the circumstances, We're gonna win the game. He left dak in there to send a message. It wasn't hey, I'm gonna let my quarterback play and you know, put up to make it look like we're winning. He went into that game to win that game. He rested guys that absolutely need to rest, but if you could play, you were playing
when they won that game. And to see those guys on the sideline and just the vibe that was on the plane and the guys, the attitude they have knowing the difference between how it felt when you didn't think Cole caught that ball and in the deflation and then when he did catch the ball, just the elation that they felt. I got it. I was like, is it time to realize, Hey, maybe coach Garrett knows what the
hell he's doing. Maybe he knows his players. Maybe this has been his plan all along to tell these guys their backs against the wall. Man. He's been telling them that since they were three and five, and look what they've done, and he's given them a chance, and he believes in them and he lets them play, and it all for some reason, they just clicked to me. He knows, Maybe he knows what the hell he's doing. Hey, Douglas,
give us that cut on the on Cole Beasley. It's a little long, but we need to hear that because this is a good thing, as man. As you said, fourth and fifteen, snap out of the gun, five man rush. He spins away from Vernon, runs left. He can run, but he can also throw it in the end zone diving but caught out of the back of the end zone. That's his deface. We just lost. We try to put it out of the back of the end zone, Bryn, Brad, I'm looking at this saying, I'm not so sure that
Paul Beasley's right knee didn't hit the ground. It did hit the ground. Now the question is is there a possession. Well, if what we're looking at right now, if that knee is down right there, that should be a touchdown and he had possession of the ball, that might be a touchdown. That might be the most of me touchdown. That's clearly a touchdown. Yeah, looking at it again, Beasley with that's one of the best catches of the year. Fantastic catch.
That's a touchdown. Beasley is down, that was a touchdown him. You hit him. Cowboy fans in the bat, Get him, cowboy fans in the bat. There was a lot of them. Yeah, that play happened, right, and that was the fashing high got quiet. Oh you heard was the Giants fan But you saw as they build it. Yeah. Yeah, and in that game jump started Dack and it jump started Brad apparently. Yeah, he hit puberty again at age sixty whatever. But I mean that play happened for me to U Kurt, and
I didn't think he caught it. We were looking at Jeremiah's camera and Jeremy was like, he caught that his knees down, and I was like, I don't know about that, and then sure enough. But I mean I'd like to hear Victor's calling that. Yeah, yeah, I'll get that to me. He found the ball, yeah, what he has, but one of the best catches of the season. Yeah, the best catcher.
But I mean after after that and after the game was over, I didn't question coach Garrett like before and during I was like, what the hell is going on? And I got it. I know why he did it. And to me, that could be a defining moment of this season if they go on and they get to this dance and they from you help us if they win the big thing. But this could be a moment where it's like he knew what he knew what he was doing. It says less less than that for me.
You got a team of forty players that's twenty eight and younger, and he's trying to win a build, he's trying to build a winning culture. And so when I came out at halftime, I go back in, you know, brought us them to a little halftime deal. Even missus Manson. So I came back in, Oh, okay, that that's still in, Like, okay, the third end of the third Like, well he's still in. I'm like, wow, that's pretty good to me. It ain't
crossing my mind that he gonna get hurt. It just it didn't cross my mind because the bottom line is just right here. The question I still asked to this day was that not valuable last year against the Eagles when he played? Was he was he not valuable? You know played much in that game? Did he against the Eagles? I mean, but he but he played right, he played. So now you got a chance to have ten wins. You got a bunch of young guys, and we keep
talking about how Dak and how the players love Dad. Well, what better way than do your players to you even more than ride this ride this ship all the way to the end. He played that whole game last year. Yeah, so I keep back they protected him if you remember at Philly because Yamo came in, had a touchdown drive and then it was Sanchez the rest of the way. But every team's different, and like and said, I felt the same way. It's like after the game you could
tell that it was a gamble that paid off. Yeah, It's like, yeah, you risked Dad, And I got the feeling that Jerry was on board too. Even if Dak had gotten injured. I think Jerry was one hundred percent on board, it would not have impacted Jason's status because Jerry's wildcatter. I just asked this question here, who was a better quarterback? Brady or day Brady? Okay, why does he play every Why does he get to play every game, whether it's meaningless or not. Why does he get to
play every game? And Dak though, see we we we try to ride always on the other side of the fence. Okay, he gonna get hurt. He gonna get hurt. He gonna get hurt. Okay, he get hurt. What if you get hurt the first play in the playoff game? So we gave ourselves a great chance. No, you didn't give yourself a great chance because it hurts hurt. You either gonna go out there and give it up for your team and build his culture the right way that was Jason is trying to do, or you're gonna just ride the
rest of your life scared. Okay, now on the tollway, I better get over this. Lane right here. But people on phones, so it don't matter. Like people rushing the past, so it don't matter. Kurt Woody, go ahead. Well, like he said, it's all about building that culture. You gotta build it, man, we're getting the ten. I think the ten wins was important. You know, they had nine wins last year and everybody thought it was a disappointment. Did you agree with Dak playing while the game was going on?
And did you The only time I really questioned it was when Suefielder got hurt because any here, you had three of your starting offensive line. Yeah, what Lyle Collins and a couple of his buddies. Don't even know their name. They've got rid no offense to Adam Adam Ridman. You know, at that point I was kind of like, well, what got me was we didn't have another offensive linement out there. You know what I thought about that. I was like,
they gonna put shoots in it. Guarded Rick was working with this, showed it on the TV that he was he really I was like, oh my god, a six guys, so well, it's crazy, Like I said, man to me, it just clicked and filed. What do you think you think? Garrett knows what he's doing. Is it time to buy
into Garrett? I know our fans hate this compliment eight years and I got told everybody Shannon that if let missus Jones make his decision, if he feels like losing this playoff game and winning this playoff game or however before, what's in his mind, let it be. But I, but I, but I got to my wife. Not in our house? Is we not gonna enjoy every victory? You know, I don't need to have Jayson. Coaches are getting fired left and right with winning ruckers and losers today. It don't
matter yesterday. You're getting fired with what you've had, better winning seasons than the Cowboys people getting fired. Bro. So if missus Jon when this ride is over, he decided to get rid of Jason Garrett, Okay, then the next coach comes in and get his opportunity if they get rid of this obviously, where the next guy comes in and get his opportunity. But I don't want to go around with my head hanging. Okay, we got Okay, we got rid of Jason. We six in ten? Come on, man,
what does that do for for Layton? What does that do for us? It sets those young guys back what two years, Yeah, because all of a sudden, now you got to bring in a new coach with a probably a new system, moving guys around, because what if you hire a coach that wants to run a three four defense? Yep. So I mean but now I will say this, if they even they keep coach Garrett, next year shouldn't be this. Next year should be well, we should be better. That
should be thumping bro. Yeah. The culture he's built here and the I think the players, even in the bad times, I don't think they've ever stopped believing in him and following him. And now you might question the play calling and clock management, that kind of endgame stuff, But as far as getting the team ready, you know, being a leader for them, I think he's outstanding. I'm not gonna say you man, wow, I'm in man. Give it. Like he's got a young group of guys, and I think
he sends the right message. And it's like I said in the past, he's consistent. You know exactly what you're gonna get. Now, he's not the same guy you're seeing these press conferences behind those doors over there in those meeting rooms. But both sides, he's consistent. He sends consistent messages. It's like showing up for your job every day. When we come to work, we know how Derek's gonna be. He's not gonna be crazy one day and call him the next. He's you know, he's Derek. We know what
we're getting when we come to work. If you're a player, I can only imagine if you come to work every day, you know what you're getting out of your coach. It makes it easier to do your job. And for that reason alone, man, I'm I say this man his mate self cause him in management and mate self cause cause that nobody agree with. Like the quarterback situation, you know you had your doubts, not your doubts because you believe in it, but what you had is what you thought
was right for the quarterback. And so stop put that on Paul. So we we you know, like I said, Jason has made me mad, you know, you know. But my my belief is this. You have a young team that's up and coming. You're at ten wins. Now you're gonna you fin to play a great I think Seattle quarterback. I don't know how good a team is, but I know how good Russell Wilson is, so now you'veen to play somebody that should spur you, you know, to be the best you can be. All I pray is now
that we play smart. That's don't get you know what? Let me let me why this on my mind? Okay, why this on my mind? Something? Go get Did y'all see them run? Did you see him run that low left with a fullback with Smith in the backfield on goal to go? Hang? I want to I'm glad you brought that up because it made me so mad. I looked at Jeremiah and I said, wait a minute. You on what the three or four yard line and you have Zeke in the game, and you try to get
cute and you have Rod Smith. You hand it to him one time and what does he do? Scores a touchdown? Like too tight man? Now hold on, hold on? They did against Was it Indianapolis where he got stuffed? Was it that same play? No? I wanted because it was a third and we threw it to the fullback on thirty one. Then we came back and tried to get his Zeke on four for one and they got with
the loony. But this right here they lined up didn't even think about it with a fullback and your back up running back and the backup running back and ran into the end zone. I said to myself, I said the same thing, didn't you year him? I on the sideline almost did, almost cuss like Kurt did last week. At this point, that was the element of surprise. What doing what you should be doing right? Never expected that you're right? All right, let's take a quick break, and
when we come back, we're gonna talk. Kurt may have just fixed this offense single handedly about a month ago. He runs right through it, throws a cut jarr one of the fifteenth of the ten to the five streak again the touchdown machine Blake Jarwin takes at thirty nine yards. Yes, you ever think you would hear that out of Bradsham's mouth? The touchdown machine, Blake jar How did that get started? What?
Blake Jarring just he couldn't catch a cold? I think Kurt fixed him. Yeah, Kurt, what did you say to him? Sometimes? I mean, I don't know how else to put it. It It feels like your snake bick. Sometimes I don't know how else to put it. It It feels like your snake bick. Sometimes is that you? No? No, I mean that was somebody al most gentlest and kindest guy. Because it's just like a sailor because front of his kids when they listened to it. Yeah, it didn't recognize his people. He
never talked superfore missus. Hearn I mean you you you ain't got a crystal ball man. You can't see the future. That is terrible full of surprises. I wish I take credit for his success, but Jake Blake is doing that all. So if you don't know what's going on, if you don't listen to the show regularly. About a month ago, we interviewed Blake jar One. Yes we had always talked about on this show. Nate actually came up with it snake bit that it just seemed like he was snake bit.
He was always in the right place at the right time, and something weird would happen, like in Seattle that game losing he caught the ball in earl who was it? As it Earl Thomas or the other dB knocked the ball out of his hand. Thomas got it, got it, I mean, was in the right place at the right time. Yeah, I mean no one could have probably held on a that ball. He had some other things where he just
he couldn't get it together. And Kurt basically just called him out in the interviews and Nimes, you pay it one more time. This hold on. We can hear good sometimes, I mean, I don't know how else to put it. It It feels like your snake bick sometimes. Yeah. So Nate actually came up with them on the show Man. He just seems like he's snake bit. Yeah, he's just unlucky. Now, keep in mind, Shannon gets these guys to come on these interviews by saying, we're not gonna talk anything. No,
I'm just gonna have fun. And then Kurt gets right in, cuts him wide open and then just pre salt and bleaching it like a fourteen willie, like a big semi hidden from the side of busting. And if you didn't hear the whole the whole interview before, yeah it's Kurt starts going down that road and Nate and I kind of feel where it's going, and we know what he's trying to get to. He's trying to just say, hey, we think you're a good play right, you just have
some bad luck. But he starts going down this long winding road and all of a sudden he comes around the mountain side and the eighteen wheeler tips up on the side, and Kurt and Nate and I just kind of we almost take the headsets off, and she's like, Okay, Kurt, how you gonna get this back the road? And then Blake just kind of looks at him like, uh, seeing the Tennessee Mountains, you coming down, you gotta run off. You can run the truck over. But you couldn't even
run up. No, no, no, I ran it right into the DA. And then the other day you just cussed. Everyone knows you're pretty cool. The other day you just cussed. Yep, just straight up, straight up for no reason. Not coss. It just sounded like we got to take, we got to take. Do you need to play it? Oh, we don't need to play it because it doesn't help what I can only play it if I bleep it. That's how bad it was. It's the Internet. It doesn't matter. We'll play we play that last. I think I'm sure.
I wish I could remember when we interviewed Blake, because it's like the first ten games he had four catches for forty two yards. He had twenty three catches for two hundred and sixty five yards, so in three touchdowns from one game, man Blake f and jarwin Man. How about that day by him? That was awesome. We have a listener, Joshua that actually sent me a direct message and said, can you please say the evolution of the
red zone offense was a Jarwinism? Get it? Oh yeah, it's like the new Darwinism evolution of the All right, I liked it, josh Thanks for sitting to that. And shout out to Geo that was at the game that I climbed up in the stands and got a picture of him and his his buddies. Heal, him and his wife listened to No No Beers, but they said if we go to Atlanta, they're buying us all beers. And they wanted Nate to get on a plane and go
to an away game this year. And Special man, he is special you all he put you know what I'm beginning to real he's fake. He has this persona okay, okay, he's mister nice guy, mister quiet, and he drops he was just talking about your space. He's looking at you. Why say he's looking at you because we spend all year and Shannon about about going to New Mexico and Mexico, about Mexico Mexico, that road. Now he comes and tell us he said, just talking about don't worry about what
we were talking about. It turns his mic off. He tells us today Mike's off. Man. I'm sorry man, but I'm leaving you guys because I gotta make a road trip. Like where are you going? Oh, I gotta. I gotta go see my parents, which is a great thing. You know how I feel about parents. Yep. I'm like, okay, great thing. But you picked this week, that the last after going into the playoffs. You know what his response was?
What was his response, Nate? What was the response? Oh, I made these plans when we were three and five planning this in the thank you shouting me got the most important ball. Y'all give me crap for book in Mexico a year in advance. At least, I don't give up halfway through the season. I give up before the He looked, he read in his eye and dare me to say so, Yeah, Nate, I did ye three and five? That wasn't the mailed it in going on? You mailed and then he gave and then he gave us the
ball hitted Kurt look like, whatever, woe is God? My wife said this should be the day I should cut like you're close to its good you should so we can make that a drop. Yeah, so Kurt won't be ridge. He will not be with us the rest of the week because he gave up on the seas. You gotta go get some you know treatment, you know, I gotta go see that, I'm thinking. So I'm so sad for him.
He well, I just cowboys had a curve with three of them, No kind of did you dogged out, Blake J. You said it feels like your snake bick Sometimes you dropped the ball last week. I didn't even come up with a nickname. You came up with that nickname. And I'm getting I'm the one getting. You're the one that put it out there. So I came up with you checked the tape you had a boat, mister. We already checked the tape with the bab last week. So another
funny story is Kurt. Kurt's wife and kids never listened to the show never, and they were driving back from aust work in school on Friday, right, Yes, so Kurt decides the cuss on the show. That's the one time they're listening. I cuss, you say, scrotum fuzz, so they just got an enjoyable show. Wow, Dad's a different person out outside of the home's a shot winning that day, wearing his Miller Light sweater. And we thought this acid rock. You guys are supting. You got a corrupting me. I
wasn't like this before. Now you guys, you were. You know this is what I'm fining. You're right, he is fake because well I always thought that he was a good guy, that he did his work on time and every every other week. Hey man, I can't make it to lunch because I'm up against it. I got to meet a deadline. I have work to do. I can't hang out with your slums all the time making words. I think you wanted to call us something else, a little Yiddish, Yeah, a little something starts with head. Wow,
I would tell you something I wouldn't do that. You're changing, man. It's because you guys can't. Just made you a bad human. You two have made me a bad I never cuss. Kurt is a hanging with the boy's treasure. A mama grows called in. Let's call mama gross so she can save Kurt. Yeah, I need she can't savor on son Oh, so what Jarwin? What happened? Dude? I don't know. I don't what has happened the last game of the season. I mean, did Dad just finally realize he's on the team,
or did he get open? Whatever it is, I hope it keeps happening. Be nice to have that. We need to get him in the studio this week. Yeah, since you won't be here, that won't happen. What do you mean they can have a playoff game. They're not gonna do that. They still they still gotta do media. Yeah, that'd be great. I'd love to hear we broke him out of this slump. We should take credit. He has emerged as the number one tight end in the absence of Jeff Swain. We should take credit, he owes us. Yeah,
I'm sure he'll see it that way. I'm just kidding. Man, that's well you different now, He's special, Like you said, sure, fault both of you. God, let's take it. I started say one thing, would you start to say, I don't even know. I like that pull over you have, dude. Yeah, both of y'all got them some nice shirts. Man, I didn't even notice yours. Yeah, I love those boots. Looking back those Luke Cazies most right, Yeah, most got them across the street at the Luke Casey store. Most comfortable, uh,
most comfortable thing them back up there. I had the wrong camerangle. There. There we go. I think I could get them both up there. Let's see. No, I'm not my kid. They always have their door opening at lue Casey Boots and it smells so good. They have candles in there that are leather candles. Wow, leather candles. The other smelling candle.

he change watch. I don't know. This show has just been one crop kitchi kit try to run out the door. Man, I don't even know what you say? What you say? They can invented a cutch words? What do you say, Kurt? They slow down? What you sitting there? Crotch? Kick? Ok? Not right out there? That is not what carried out of your mouth. Your kids back at school? Why you crying? Hey, Sheila, you really are Oh Sheila, California. How are you good? How are you guys doing? We are great. If you ain't calling to make us laughing, Sheila, we don't need just living it up after yesterday? Ready for these playoffs caring for two things. One of them would leave Kurt alone his parents. Yeah, okay,
he doesn't have to go to Mexico. And hey, but I'll tell you. I'll tell you this. I'm if we if we continue to win, I'm bailing on my trip. How about that. I'll be back in time. No, no, no, no, no, I'm not leaving. The most important game is the game that's win to the next and I'll be Saturday. Well, we will win. They will win more, especially if they have Dak to keep running. Yes, is so accurate when he is running, I mean it is unbelievable. Yes, man,
So that's what that's what they need to let him do. Okay, and so now where are you located at machine I'm located in California, Portaville. That's where they have all the oranges and you know great, you know that feed everybody. And I've been I've been a Cowboy fan since I was sitting on my lap with my dad would yeah his lap. I was at k corrupting you awful talk. I love Dandy Don Meredith. That's how long I've been
a Cowboy. Roger the Dodger sawback. Yes, ma'am. So if the Cowboys Cowboys go to LA for that second game, are you gonna be there. I'm gonna be there. I am gonna be Oh nice, We will too be there. Kurt won't because he trip and that's too far from date to drive. We can't get we can't get him to fly. Yes, man took a picture with you at the Cowboy camp when you I think when you first started, uh with your commentating, or you were a speaker there,
or you were like getting people going. He was the hype man out on the stage, the hype Okay, yeah, yeah, I will follow you anywhere, Nate, all right, us too, Just just don't follow me to Kansas City. You're welcome to come come along. Hey. Thank you, Sheila, thank you for listening, thanks for calling in, thank you, thank you, Love you guys. You too. Thanks for listening. You know what, I hate this? What everybody else? We leave you? Kurt lead Kurt along, Kurt, Kurt, who y'all think he is?
Rights exposed him? They know you all inrupted me. Not who we thought you were, nah Man, none of this would have happened, poor pitiful Kurt, Kurt, Michael, poor Kurt. Let's talk about something else, all right, Michael, and Iowa what you want to talk about. I want to talk about pack here, all right, let's go. You don't want to talk about Kurt, poor pitiful Kurt. N Thanks. Let me ask you a question, Yes, sir, don't you think that we have a leader now and Dak? Don't you
think we can put to bed everything else? We have a leader now? That's right, sir, that's right, and you need to stay out. Yeah, thank you. Yeah, the people's choice. We got into this last week about it. Thanks for a call Michael about going great and all that. I think Dak's a long term guy, so you know, get ready for big payday there, Nate. I don't have a problem with it's just the amount that I may have a problem, right, because I think if he see it
all works hand to hand, he extended. He extended one or two plays the game. Guys catch balls for him and make plays for him, and then all you know what I'm saying, it all works together. And I'm not saying over time that he's not gonna be worth twenty million plus dollars. But right now, you know, and he you know, I don't want people to say, oh man, he's just going at back. No. I didn't feel the
goth Minnesota's worth twenty mile. How I feel a guy, even the guy that went to the Denver Broncos, I ain't figure it's worth his eighteen It just until I see a guy do it time and time again on a consistent basis. You're Jeoper out Japs and your whole team. And I give example. The greater game is Flacco had in the Super Bowl. He had one of the greatest extoric runs to a Super Bowl that you can shake a stick at. But after he won a super Bowl, the Ravens said that he said, this is a thin line.
They told their fans, we're gonna pay this guy because we believe he can cover our awards. And what they meant by that is we're not gonna have that great defense for another few years because we've gone to the draft. We're not gonna have them great wide receivers because we're gonna have to draft. Now that we've given him almost one hundred million dollars over these many years, we're gonna have to draft a little bit better. And they have
a pretty good drafting team. Brother. Then you saw it happen the last four years, three four years of brother Flago. You've seen what has happened. He's not been able to
cover thewards. So when you're talking about giving a guy twenty twenty plus million dollars a year, you're talking about See, even with Tony, I was opposed to him giving Tony that last contract, but it was called the health reasons, not because Tony felt that Tony couldn't play and that they weren't gonna that they had finally figured out, Hey, as long as we got similars of a run game, Tony gonna be all right. But I was scared because he got it was getting hurt. Yeah, So and this
is probably a conversation for after the season. Yeah, we could probably do a whole show on this. But yeah, I think what you get into with dak is if you don't pay him. Somebody out there's gonna pay him. And Jerry's been through those years with Hutchinson and Quincy and you got to start all over. That's gonna set you back, or you go find a guy that still cost you a lot of money, but he's not the guy that you built your system around or your team around.
So you're almost held hostage by the situation that you've created. So it's like, do you go get up a Kirk Cousins or do you just try to get by with a Teddy Bridgewater or a Flacco or right here, man, And this is coaching them, and then this is a this I love coaches them, you know, And that's Dion's boy. The Dean sounded. But this is what got me wild coach them. You you went out and got this great quarterback and you had tedded Bridgewater, yeah, and let him go.
You could have paid this dude four or five meal a year, say hey, man, get you shore as you're healthy, we'll pay two years. You could have got it for a little of nothing. And you went out on top of that and got this high, high profile UH offensive coordinator and would not let your old offensive coordinator goal from under his contract. So he may have a shot at being off as coordinator, only to turn around and to hire him the fire the guy that you quote
unquote to see. That's what makes me nervous. Is we get rid of some guys over here, you know, coaching staff or whatever, and said, Okay, we're getting rid of these guys. We find these guys, and you bring in something worse, you know, because it is something worse than me in eight and eight. You believe, trust me it is you know. All right, let's take one more call before we get out of here. Douglas, who we got? Edwardos right? What's up? Eduardo? Hey, how are you doing? Guys?
Great man? How are you wonderful? Wonderful? I appreciate y'all taking my call. Um. Well, I'm from Dallas. I just want to throw that out there, but I'm living in Maryland. As far as what's going on with thirteen A defensive there, we're doing great things. Uh, we're getting to the ball. We're we're making hits, you know, we're doing tackles. Um. But as as far as offensively, I think what would be the part that U has us worried the most? As uh, Dad Prescott and the way that he takes
a lot of unnecessary sex. Um and uh. I mean as far as everything else, um, our offensive line um has been doing okay, it hasn't been performing up to the standards that we normally expect them too, especially in the last three or four years. UM. But I will say that as far as the playoff game, I believe we have a good chance at bat in Seattle. And I don't firmly believe, I firmly believe that we will not be going one and done. This this play all right, Eduardo,
Thank you for the call. I agree with Eduardo, No, one and done, and let's get Dak to move around a little bit. Like Nate said, he doesn't have to run the ball, just get the hell out of the pocket every once in a while, keep the defense honest plays, keeping a team, keep them guessing. Like that play with Beasley. That play does not happen if he doesn't move outside of the pocket because he's either sacked or got people
around his feet. I agree with you, Eduardo, Thank you for calling well fellas yep, anything else before we go, Kurt, any parting words for two thousand eighteen. No, it's been a fun, fun year. Just remember, whatever you say right here will be the last thing you tell to our listeners. Feel sometimes in two thousand eighteen, sometimes so anything you want to feel. Snake bit, No shit, you look snaked school. I just dropped the s Bob Man, it's contagious. It's contagious.
Do it, lord, I don't want to do it. Played the long game long enough. I think it was that Sheila who messed us up. No, she did. She put that food. He's going to see his mom and dad and that he's forsaking the show and half the game. So you're gonna what y'all what you're gonna leave with an eight hour ride up? There probably been closer than nine, So y'all believe, like what six in the morning, so you can barely get back and for the for the
game star. Oh yeah, we're leaving early. Say you taking dogs? No? Just kids? Yes? You the wife? So you leave your dogs on the starve? No, we got people take care of him. Where do you live that you may for themselves. Listen here. When we started the season, Kurt let us know he was going through something. He's he's like so great on the other side of that thing. At this point, it's it's good that this has been a show that Yes, you know we could have a little fun. Yes at
his expense exactly. Just statement over the year, man, you went through what you went through, but Douglas, you survived the toilet to the face and I found out that our cope will fix your tooth. Well, Kurt, it's been a great year, man, that was a safe, safe trip. Sorry, I'm gonna be gone. I'm gonna no. I don't worry about it. Man, just don't bring it. I show yourself out. You just never said about three and five we could have made it. I feel bad. I'm gonna miss it.
It's okay, exciding time, enjoy your family. If it was for selfish reasons, we'd probably be a little bit harder on you. For you spend time with your family, man, that's important. Yes, after they give us a call here talking about talking, we're fall We're gonna have you talk football. Well, Kurt, thanks for showing up. Man, it's been a great two thousand and eighteen. Nate, glad we all get to hang out for letters today for the last day. But I
screwed it up, my bad. Douglas. Thanks for producing Where's our Pizza? And I guess we get into two thousand nights, you won't be here this so we have all the way the next week with a piece of last the gentleman was up with a piece of we'll find out. Thanks for putting up with us for another year, Douglas Kid, Thanks for keeping us on the air for another year. Thank all of you that have listened to us for
a year. It's been a great two thousand. Sham Brad Sham. Yeah, forty years he's been on the for us of the Cowboys. Ye still going through puberty. It sounds like congratulations, Brad. We will be back Wednesday. We don't know who's gonna be on the show or what's gonna happen, so tune in. But we're going to the playoffs. Baby, We're playing the Seattle Seahawks. We are winning. We're gonna keep it going. Trusting Garrett, trusting dadd It wasn't gonna hauler into the
mike anymore. No, this is playoff week. We have hollering all week long. I'll hanging with the boys. Cowboys get that friend production, Dallas Cowboys dot Com and the Dallas Cowboys Football Club
