The following he's a production of Dallas Cowboys dot Com and the Dallas Cowboys Football Club. Cowboys flowing out of the backfields, flowing down the sidelines. He's hanging with the boys, presented by Wing Stuff where Flavor gets its wings. Now your host, Jesse, Holly, Kurt Daniels, and Nate Newton, what's going on? Happy hump? Du I meant it by myself, So that's all good, y'all know, I don't need anybody.
I can rock and roll at the old There you go, there's knee that's a live look right there at the Tostitos Championship Plaza outside in front of the Ford Center. I think they're upgrading those those screens. You know, Jerry wants everything in HD. He wants you to see his team in HD four K all that type of stuff. So they upgrade, upgrade those screens. And again they got a bunch of stuff happening out at the start each and every week. All right now, it is currently eighty
nine degrees. That high will be seventy two degrees this segment to what sixty nine degrees said, I'm sorry, s sixty nine degrees. I thought you say sixty nine is your number. I thought that not your number, but that was not your thing. I didn't know if that was where you were going with that. I'm sorry, sixty nine degrees. No, I didn't know. I didn't know that might be a thing. I don't know. Faster, Nate Marid. He could do whatever
it is that he want. This segment is bought to you by Wing Stop where flavor It gets its wings. He is Nate Newton, Jesse Holly Beam. That is Chris Beam. We're missing Kurt today, but his sho Kurt Beams. All white guys look alike. That is Chris Bean. Sir, Kurt shall return without I think tomorrow. But together we are hanging with the boys. The sports talk equivalent of brail. Yes, people feel us. That's right when we speak though, right, all right? They You know, yesterday we had the big
news that the Cowboys made the trade. Did you go home yesterday? You were kind of like you were in film, like you were watching film. Yeah. I was adamantly. Yeah, we were trying to do a show yesterday. I was responding to you, Ja now you were, I know you. But let me say this right here. He must be here because I saw a big old uh uh meat trump big on meat truck pull off. Hey joke. I'm like, he must be in that truck. Must be in the
back of that truck, a big old, deep free meat truck. Yeah, so he must be here, Yes, he must be here. I mean, I'm sure he's somewhere in the vicinity. Today were talking about the Cowboys offers verse the Chicago Bears. Uh defense, just kind of a little bit of injury updates. Uh Zeke Elliott didn't practice today? Yes, yes, man, you know they say it's nothing like there was before with the PCL. But he took that he took a nice he took a nice lick on the knee in that game.
It's it's amazing what a drenaline can do for you to keep you in the game. So he finished out the game, but he's not practicing uh today. Um daman Clark, Daman Clark has been activated. Like it. I honestly think at the end of the day, if all medicals kind of go through, the two teams who stole the draft, who stole the two players in the draft will be
the Eagles and the Cowboys. The backup from Georgia who was who who best and he was supposed to be a first round pick and kept falling and falling and falling because they thought he had some medical stuff. And then the Moan Clark. He had the next situation in the next fusion, the Cowboys winning, and you used to pick on him. I think if those two guys, when it's all set and done, if they are medically fine.
Now if the medal comes in the play, that's a different story, but they are medically fine to play football and play football for a while. The Cowboys and the Eagles got two steals in the draft with those two players. I'm looking for, who is our third running back? If Zeke is worse and I see Rico down, but he's our so I'm like, who is our third guy? Chris Davis? Okay, I remember Hillo. Rico was in the battle all training
camp and they went with the more. Yeah, but you get three elevations, so you know, I don't know how long. You know, if Zeke's out for a game or two, you still can elevated guy at least three times before you have to make him uh, either either to keep Matt practice squad or make him an active guy for the rest of the year. Or releasing whatever you want to do. But no, he will have no more designation to move be moved up and down from the practice
squad to the active squad. All right, we'll start Bears defense. I want to thank Kurt for his uh it's awesome notes. Yes, that he always sends us. Kurts always takes care of us, even in between his breaks, when he's getting a glass of water and waiting for it for it to go down a little bit before he starts back up again. Um, when you look at this Bears defense, they they they've been on the feel a lot because their offense has been putrid. Uh, they don't have much on offense, and
we'll talk about that tomorrow. But but they don't, they don't. I would say this. I would say this, like I know they scored thirty three points against the Patriots. If they put thirty three points up on us, all held him broke loose, all held him broke loose. There's no way they should be able to put thirty three points up on us with their extremely wonder mentional offense. But we'll get you guys, will get more into that tomorrow. Bears defense. They've allowed more than twenty points just two
times this year. Uh, they're seventh and points allowed. We look at the comparison. You know who's right under that and points allowed? Who is the Cowboys? Whereas six at points allowed. So here we are facing another They're not They're not the eighty five Bears. But I think a quality Bears defense very similar in the in the fact
that they haven't had much help from their office. And I know the Cowboys just got Dak Prescott back last week, but prior to the Cowboys had Cooper Rush, and while he may not have sunk your ship, he wasn't moving your ship to safe to safe sands, right, And I think that's the same thing with this defense, that they are on the field, a lot, a lot is put on their shoulders, and they've kind of stepped up to
the plate some. Uh this year they have the quality win against the Niners and that monsoon and then of course going on the road and beating Bill Belichick and that team on the road. What the Texans don't count they beat them twenty seventeen. That it's not handily enough for you. I missed the Texans. Okay, the Texans. I mean, can you can you name four players on the Texans. Yes, they have a wide receiver who you talked about yesterday. Can you name him? Uh? Yes, sir, Uh, he was
the guy you talked about yesterday on the show. All right, that's one yeah, uh yeah, yeah, exactly exactly exactly why the Texans don't matter. Bro. I would have to do some biblical study. Guy, I couldn't remember the guy you're talking about the wire receiver us today Brandon Cooks than Man. Thank you, Kurt Beam exactly. So is there anything that you've seen on film defensively from the Bears that kind of said, all right, here's what we have to got
them when we gotta go with that. They have Robert Quinn who last year had eighteen sacks. At this point he Helen has one. Uh, but he's quick. He had a nice game against the left tackle of of of the Patriots. I mean he got off on him a lot of times, then got pressure, never got a sack, but got great pressure for us to do. Then toil a couple of holdings. Uh. But the the b started two safeties. They are nice and uh and they got a boy number fifty eight. Oh, they got some good linebackers.
Now they they would get they would get off the ball man Smith Morrow uh and Thomas. They they run and their and their defensive line covers for them and allows them to make plays. You know, Rokan got two interceptions. Uh uh forty five solo tackles, seventy eight all together, and these ain't tackles. That's one hundred yards down the field. Right. He hitting dudes in the backfield in the face. I mean he punishing dudes. Uh. They got Jackson, the safety
who's got three interceptions. Uh. But more importantly, I'm gonna do like you and uh isail do. More importantly, it's Matt evil Flues. So I'm pronouncing his name right. That is who I'm concerned giving it a star for that one. I'm serious. Hey, Hey, this dude can Can Can Can Can draw it up and he and I hope he don't put his hand. I hope he let Luke getsy do it. I hope he don't put his hands in his game playing because he can make it hard on us.
He can make it different difficult on us. He got one right to get what Luke gets it that in his name. Get your confidence there, Yeah, who gets it? Yeah, I'll get you warm you ain't right, Chris. But you know what, let me tell a quick a quick story, right story, tell a quick story. Who are we talking about earlier? Uh? Guy? Who are we talking about? The quarterbacks? Russell Wilson? Oh my god. They hate Russell on the plane.
They hate Russell working out. And Chris Beam came in while we were in here and said, and this was the group before us, and say, what if you woke up and you saw a guy doing during what would you think, Jesse, you wake up at two in the morning, I'll just been I'm not a man that cusses a lot, right, but if you don't get you, I would have cussed Russell Wilson out right. He's staying out, he's working out. If you bumped my seat, yeah, on this eight hour flight that we got because you want to do up
to like something stupid. Even if I wasn't sleep, I would have got Russell telling sit down. I would cuss Russell Wilson now and I might have manus, I would I I would have I would have smooth. That's how I know. Like, I don't know Russell, but you hear all the comments coming out from former teammates and then you hear something like this and you go they hate him. Yeah, like that is not a genuine dude like something like that. I would wow. But anyway back, Yeah, that just made
me laugh. Man, But thank you Chris for that laugh. You know, to go back to it, um, Robert Quinnon. We'll stick right there for a second. And this is another test for the young fellow Tyler Smith. Yeah, it's gonna be another test. And I don't think and I'm not doing this because I'm biased, because you all know Robert, I am real. I am real. But you can also see my shirt and Robert Quinn went to the University
of North Carolina. I just want to put that out there. Okay, he's a tar heel good man, and he's a good he's a great man. He's a little a little weird, but that's okay. We all have our quarks. Nothing wrong with that, Nothing wrong with that, Absolutely nothing wrong with that. But I don't like Robert Quinn doesn't get the true defensive end like Khalil, Like he's in that conversation. When you look at the numbers, he's not a two way guy. That's the only reason he's not a two way guy.
What do you mean a guy's being able to go inside or oh he's not a guy that's gonna defend that run. I got you, he Quinn, and then you know how he line up. Yeah, he going to get
it again. This is a guy who's had multiple years of not just like ten sacks, of like fifteen, sixteen, eighteen, nineteen sacks in the season, and at times I don't think people really give him the star type treatment that if you went to you know, you matched up against a Bosa, or you were matched up against a Micah or you know what I'm saying, like those guys get that competition. He's made the money, he's been a hot
you know, he's he's here in Dallas. He came here to Dallas four year on a one year deal, went and got and went and got some more brand and went somewhere else. So this is gonna be another huge test for the young fellow. And like you said, Robert Quinn, gonna come after you. Yes. But the thing, Jesse is the reason why he's probably not getting sacks this year is because who was on his team last year. He's
always had he's always had help. Right when he was with us, I mean, you had Lawrence on the other side. So Lawrence was taking all the double teams on the other side, They're putting more pressure on that side and he would get the sacks. So but you know that could be why he's That is part of the reason. But I'm telling you, even when he count, he is, you got to count for him and our young rookie. See the thing about it is and I'm with you, Jess, if can do you have the talent to emulate what
you just saw. And he has the talent to run around this kid. If he don't stay low, if he don't put his hands on him, don't let if he let Robert get into him, we'll see more of the same. But he's got to start having space between him and the defensive end so he can navigate, you know, he you know, let your hands be to save you. Don't let your feet be to save you, because they always behind your hands. You know what I'm saying. When you punch and you you redirect him, then you can set
your feet. But if you're in here and your feet down got and you know, got even with you, your hands can't catch up. Your hands can't catch your hands can redirect, your hands can slow down. But but you know, but if your feet ain't got you there on the
on the on the snap, you could be in some trouble. Yeah, and and this and this defense I think one of the one of the ways it poses pressure on the quarterback, I mean on the on the Cowboys offensively, it's because you're gonna have a guy like Roquan Smith who can go sideline and sidelines. Yeah, he's not as fat asks Michael Parsons, but every other characteristic that Michael Parsons has
that we see with Michael Parsons. He's strong, he's physical, he's knowledgeable, like he's one of those he's gonna do that we love, just a football playing dude. And amidst being all of the contract contract controversy with Royal Kuan Smith, he was the new style they do now it's called a hold in during training camp. It's when you show up the training camp, but you don't participate in any practices.
You just stand on the sideline. So he did that for a lot of training camp, which is being a hold in because he was looking to get a new deal done and they didn't get a new deal done with him, so he's kind of on a war path this year to saying someone's gonna give me a new deal. And if it's Chicago, now you don't have to pay me a little bit more. If it's someone else, I'm
going I'm going to get some new money. And he's showing it through his play and another one you talked about him like Eddie Jackson, those guys on the back end. This is one of those games where this is the kind of cornerback where when Dad feels like his thumb is feeling good and he wants to throw one in there where it shouldn't go. God, like Eddie Jackson, that ain't that You ain't that ain't coming back for you get another down. That will be an interception. That will
absolutely be an interception. You gotta make sure you know where he's at on that back end because you throw you throw it in that area where Eddie Jackson and that and and and Brisker is at. That will most definitely be an interception. All Right, we're gonna go to break. When we come back, we're gonna talk a little bit more about the Cowboys offense second week with Dak Prescott
back in there. We don't know what Zeke's gonna be talk about these rod receivers a little bit, because there's been some talk that I brought up in the spring that more people are talking about now about this receiver group. So stay right here with us, Hang up the boys, We'll be right back. Jess gonna bring it. I'm Dak Prescott, quarterback of the Dallas Cowboys. So the Cowboys are getting ready for this one, and this is the second week back for Dak Prescott. He had his up and down moments last week against against the Lions, and I think this is another opportunity for him to kind of, in the words of Jason Garrett, keep stacking gate days together. Right,
you get another full week of practice. You won't have Zeke today, but that's I think that's fine that Zeke gets a little bit of rest. Tony Pollard is still still there. But as the Cowboys look to kind of push this thing, I think the one area that is glaring for the Cowboys offensively is third downs. The Cowboys are ranked thirtieth in the National Football League at thirty two present thirty two present conversion rate on third down. No,
they didn't see it any improvement last week. The Cowboys rushing the ball with Zeke Elliott on third and one or less, third and two or less all year long, they were getting it. Last week they were one of three on being able to convert on third downs and That's gonna be key as we continue to build this thing heading into heading into the playoffs is when you start playing more quality teams and you talked about it.
Two I'll talk about on my other shows is this if you keep putting the pressure on this defense to have to be perfect because you can't extend drives, You can't make long drives on a consistent basis. They opened up the game last week and I think the first three possessions were either three and out or four players
and out. You can't start games like that. You can't have it where you're just putting the ball the way right away, that defense is back on the field because you're gonna come across somebody that's gonna be able to sustain drives, that's gonna be able to score points and really put pressure on you. But if you can't get yourself out of this low third down completion percentage, this can this can derel some games, and the Cowboys have to figure out a way to get better on third downs.
My belief is you have to do better on first down, and your first down runs are passed can't be in completions and they can't be running into a wall. Of people where you get no gain or very little gain. That has to change for me for the Cowboys to look to get better offensively as they head into the Bearer games. What about your name and the plus with all of you just said, and in the long run,
it will preserve your defense. Third downs will preserve your defense. Normally, when you have fifteen or sixteen third down situations at the most, and that's over the top, maybe round thirteen to fifteen third down situations, if you can get six of them, that gives you three more minutes or four more minutes on the field. And that would mean the Cowboys would go from the average with twenty eight to thirty two minutes a game that puts your defense on
the field twenty eight minutes a game. The fresher they are, the more they can do for you, and the more they can give you the ball back. But I'm with you. I mean, that's why we have to be in third down. How we get that first and five or more. You know, in second down we do what we do, we still have to be manageable in third down so we can dictate how we give the ball away. I mean, for us throwing a running and I think part of this. This This is divvy it up, right, because I'm gonna
put a lot of this on Kellen Moore's shoulder. This this third down percentage, and this is gonna lead into our next topic. But I'm gonna put something. I'm gonna a lot of this. I'm gonna put a lion's share of this on kelling Moore. The predictability of what this offense is a lot of times on first down, excuse me, it's either one or two things. They're gonna run the ball between one of the A gaps and then the second thing that they do is they play action bootleg
out to the left for Dak Prescott. Like you can almost set your clock to it. That's what's coming on first down. And if people like you and I can sit here and see that. The guys in the boots of the you know, the defensive corders of the world, they defensive coordinators. When they're breaking down games, the first thing they're looking for is tendencies, because while teams try to hide them, they're there and they're gonna say, and this is this is this is how they break down.
This is how teams and players and coaches break down they'll go okay on first down. Guys, through what we've seen on film this year, on third on first down, seventy eight percent of the time, sixty eight percent of the time they're gonna on the ball in the A gap. Now, when you look at it, you go sixty eight percent. Well, yeah, I know that's failing on the test. But in the football worlds, if you're sixty eight percent right on what you do or what you're able to guess, it's a
good percentage. Yes, it's a great percentage. So as a player, I'm saying to myself, through my film study and through my coaching, if I know that close to seventy percent of the time they're going to run the ball in the A gap, that I'm gonna inch up a little bit more. I'm gonna be more ready to attack that type of thing. And then I go, well, the other thirty thirty percent or thirty two percent of the time
they're gonna bootleg. So as a defender in the back, I'm saying, I'm keeping my eyes in the run, but I'm also knowing, here come the three level bootleg. And they did it to start the game last week. It would have been a tightened out in the flat, it would have been Noah Brown who came across late, and then option for Dak Prescott to run. That's the three level bootleg. And sometimes you'll have a guy over the top depending on the formation. So this is the predictability
that Keller Moore presents at times. What's kills your offense because no matter how good you are, Nate, if if if you're playing guard right and at the snap of the ball, I just I'm just saying all I'm going straight to the air gap. I'm just gonna just be lined to the air gap. You don't have a shot, you don't have a chance. And if I guess right, guess what I blew the play up right, And if
I guess wrong, I guess wrong, it's first down. I hope it doesn't kill us too much right and out over the course of the game if you guess the right amount of times, because a lot of it's guessing, a lot of it is educated guesses and football it's
the study, it's the preparations. Then it goes I'm anna play the percentages special For those first three or four years, Sean Lee was always that special because he had the knowledge he understood the tendencies, he understood the keys, and he's like this, this is kind of matching up to what I studied. I'm going and he would go and
a lot of times he would be right. Injuries derailed him. Um, but for this Cowboys team, Kelly Moore has to be better and the early downs with being predictable on how he called players to help his team out so that they're not in those third down situations and then when they get in the third situations, don't do dumb stuff like hey, if I've been if I've been winning with rushing the ball on third and what was he Kelliott?
Why why am I pitch the ball for him to go to the sideline when he doesn't have the speed anymore to outrun due to the sideline. This is that That's the part I put on Kelly Moore about helping this team out. Offense will be better on third downs. And at one time even even Tony I like, Tony gonna get there. That dude came like, whoam almost killed? Tony. I'm like, you know, those are the things that I questioned. But I was like, run clock run, That's all I
can say. Run clock run because what I did not want is for us to speed things up, you know, going to turbo mode. Let's get somebody going. And no, I mean he can call plays better. They all can. I mean I watched a lot of these offensive coordinators, uh mess up games. Uh. But thanks to coach McCarthy. My god, that was a sudden you know. I just I love how you guys all of a sudden didn't want the man. You did not myself yesterday you did not want Mike McCarthy when that was when that name
was on was on the board. Yes I did. I was the only one stand. I gave reason. You can go back, and I gave reason and then I almost got off board when he did what when he gave it? I came on this show and I was just gonna come on man, for real, for real, I mean, because you know what, and I think about that, because you know people, you know people like well you hate you hate on this man. No, no, no, no, this is my thing is And I know you have to learn
somewhere because people gave me opportunity to learn. They gave you opportunity to learn. But I'm like, you got fifty guys and twenty five of them is on offense. And we don't need for you to be learning on our time because it directly affected our pockets. Know what I'm saying. I don't need your learning on my time. I need to abody to know what they're doing. You agree with this? Agree?
You know? Hey man, that's why, especially if you're seeing the basketball a lot, you've been to what you've been to get rid of my boys, who I know we can at least get your second round the playoffs for the young guys I'm out of hire. Yeah, And and to kind of talk about Kellen Moore and his play calling,
it leads to my next point of the receivers. When they let him Mark Coopy Go Cooper go in the offseason, and I know they drafted, you know, Jayleen Tolbert, and you know everyone was all she Dy Lambs and number one and d Lamb's ready to go, and we got Jaylen Tolbert. Look at look at this film, and I'm like, all right, that's Georgia Southern. But okay, like I'm all right, and I got nothing against Before Heckman comes in here and trying to say, HBCUs or, I ain't got nothing
against HBCUs. I have absolutely nothing against a HBCUs. Great people, great programs. The competition level is different and that's just what it is. So we got into it and I was I was. I was adamant. This receiving corps, ain't it? And people talked about all Jesse, you hating death. No, no, And I'm saying, listen, guys, I've been around some studs before. I've been around a couple of guys who know how to run some routes, and I know what it's supposed
to look like. Now I may not have been able to do it as good as them, but damn it, I watched. I watched closely. I was studying all of it. You know how it is when when you that guy you got to know everything because a coach say, hey, I need a guard. I need to say I got your coaches, even if you can't, I'm going right. So I'm looking at him like this, this combination, ain't it? Like they don't have they don't have the pieces that
make it, that make it work. And one of the things that and I've known this, but the person who's I've heard openly talk about it was Brian Broadus, and he talked about having players to overcome the deficiencies of a coach or a coaches scheme, and a guy like a Marii Cooper had the ability with his route running to over kind up and say for the inability of Kellen Moore being able to scheme guys open. And when you talk about scheming guys open, it's it's able to run.
We don't rub any we don't run any rug plays, we don't run the deep overs. We don't like something that is simple as we see it all the time we see it, we send it for five six years in Kansas City, lie Tyree Hill up in the slot and just say, hey, you run a four to two, You're gonna be in a foot race from the spot that you stand in this slot to forty yards across the field to the other sideline and let's see if
we can't win. We've yet to do that with Kvad Turpin or someone of that calid that's someone that calor. But so just talking about being able to scheme guys open. This team of receivers, they don't have the capability of overcoming the deficiencies of the lack of play calling and scheming by Kellen Moore. So what you're now running into is all of the throws have to be tight window throws,
contested throws. You know, there are guys running wide open because they don't have the ability to run those type of clean Chris Brouts. So you hear the talks of now in the Cowboys should look to trade for a receiver, whoever that may be. And then on top of that is this receiving corps doesn't have guys who attack the football. And when I mean attack it, I mean that body catching go get it. Yeah, you know. And the perfect example I think about a guy who was able to
overcome the efficiencies. I go back to Nuke Hopkins in Houston when he was putting up eleven hundre yards season with guys like t J. Yates and quarterbacks who we don't even know who the hell they are. But he was just so good of a player that the way he attacked the football. Dens Bryant, he wasn't a great route runner, but through the ball to him, he was going to attack it. And I think this is what this receiving corps lacks and needs to find a way
to have those guys. And when CD was able to do last year what a guy like Maari Cooper was. Amari took away that double covers. He took away those extra set of eyes, so those guys were able to run free. He ran so those guys can walk. He was eating up those double teams and then when it came down to it, he had a good enough skill set to overcome the deficiencies to allow this offense to continue to flow. They don't have that right now, and
that's why you're here. The room was talking about the Cowboys maybe looking for another receiver, Maybe should trade for another receiver, because that chemistry of guys they just don't have right now in that group. Travel dot com. Back to Hanging with the Boys. Welcome back to Hanging with the Boys. Hump Day Wednesday. That's how we do. Hump dah. We're gonna get this thing, get through the week, man, and make this the best week possible. Um, just quickly, you're doing good this way. I I didn't check with you this way. You're good, you know, Jess. I'm telling you what, man. As long as I know and I'm waking up, bro it's gonna
be a beautiful Yeah. You don't know if you're gonna wake up every day, That's what I'm as long as I know, That's what I'm saying. When I like, I'm like, you don't know, you don't know what. It's a good day, brood, because I'll be at my den. Was I checked my mouth and your Yeah, you gotta make sure that was right. You know, good after brush, beginning before I brush, I do. But I'm gonna get in there brush. It's quick. As you know. I woke up this morning, I had this
just abundance of joy. I I don't know where, I know where it came from. It came from the Lord, but I just I'm just as excited about life, uh this morning. So that's a good thing. And I hope whoever's listening, you know, I get these message a lot of times on Twitter. And while Twitter is a very very very toxic place, right, Oh, if you don't know, if you don't know, Nathaniel, it's a toxic place. Oh I do, that's me. I don't mess with it's a
toxic place. But I get these messages from time to time, and and it makes it worth it, because you know, we go home and say, you know, Chris, we go Chris. Chris works in this room. You don't understand, like Chris Beam works in this room with no windows all day, all day long, dealing with premium. Time you get here, Chris, I said, kem in the office at seven thirty seventh, probably like seven thirty, seven thirty almost right, Wow, show the last show ends at four forty five, and so
you leave about what five six o'clock something like that. Yeah, so almost twelve hours. Like you know, I ain't that far off, Chris. But you know, we we we come in, we prepare, we study, we watch film and and we put shows together, whether it's Hang with the Boys. Now Kurt doesn't listen. Everybody has to roll. Everybody has a roll. I was I was gonna look for the stats earlier for the on third down from last I was like
Man Kurse. I need Kurve headed like Kurt final third down stats for me, everybody has to have a role for our team to be successful. But we do these shows, we prepare, we come in here and we don't. We don't we see us, right, we don't. There's no we don't see No, there's no other people that people that walk through here. But we hope when we're done and I say, we out that at the end of the
day that someone enjoyed what we did. Wow. And then I get these messages from people and it goes, Man, I was having a terrible day, but I turned on Hanging with the Boys, and it goes from the minute I turned it on, y'all made me laugh. Oh, I get that message up, bro Man, Hanging with the Boys was so great. The information that y'all gave out how y'all broke that down was so great. And that's the kind of stuff that keeps me going. That's when I hear those like for every you can send me a
thousand hate messages. When I get that one that says, bro, you change the color on my route, my move ring man, I was having a bad day, or someone goes, bro, you shot at me out like, like, you know, we had we had our boy gee from Jersey that came in here the other day, right, Like, that's an experience of a lifetime. He may not never get that experience again, but he can go back and say, Yo, look I was on the show with Nate Newton, Jesse, I was at the Cowboys and so that type of stuff always
gives me joy and brings me joy. So thank you for those who listen, thank you for those who comment. Um, we appreciate you. We we try to do our very best to give you all the information that we possibly can for these games. We want to have fun. This is why our show was called Hanging with the Boys. We want you to feel like you in the garage, you at the barbershop, you you know you you you you sitting in the back on the back deck or whatever it is, you hang out with your boys and
your man cave whatever. That's how we want to make you guys feel. So we appreciate or sitting at the salon getting your nails done, we were both partaking that. We know what we're saving our game. We sit down, We're gonna get that manicure. In that pedicure for those who have not done that. Men, go try it. Man. It's not feminine at arts and it sometimes yeah, diabetes and hot blood. It saves you, It saves you. Yeah, so hung about dollar bees a hot blood? Um? You
think you think our boy Hankers played this week? Oh? Man? Just oh you got his fifteen plays. It's run first and second down. It's run. Yeah, just run if it's if they if they think it's a pass, take about it though, just run. Yeah, and see one thing about it. I don't want him blowing his energy trying to figure out what it is. It's first down and then it's second down. Then you walk off the field. You start once you once you see is second and seven. Just
walking off the field. Look at second and seven off the first down, they ain't get for two to one yard second down, they got two yards and walk. I don't want you to lose it. No, not pound, not one o. Yeah, and it's gonna be interesting because we're
gonna take put him back in that deep. Yeah. This is gonna be interesting because you know when you talk about you know, we'll say one gap or two gap and just kind of give you an understanding of what that what that means when when you say a guy's a one gap guy, we're talking about if this guy lines up in the A gap, he is responsible for the A gap. He goes straight in the A gap, he ain't going to be or c R D. If he's in the B gap and he's a one gapper,
you got the B gap, homie. The difference is when we talk about a guy being a two gapper. Yes, a two gapper means this guy has to be able to engage his opponent and now be able to be in the A gap if the run goes there or stop him, stop him, yes, but the A gap stop him or protected gap. That's what we mean about one gap in two gaps. So if you hear the comments up, oh Hankins is the one gap guy or two gap guy?
One gap means whatever gap he lines up in, whatever whatever, that three hundred and forty pounds of just greazy honey, sticky wings, just that's where he got to go in full speed ahead. If it's a two gap, boom, still still make that guy and then be able to I'm on the table. You know you're good as a two gapper. I used to watch some guys man when I play, you can slip them. I mean the play going right to the left of the left guard, the left I'm
the left guarden. It's going rat outside of me or rat inside rat on the inside hill for the left tackle and men step have tried to slip certain guys and we slip him and he's he's so big. Did
he just fall? He just falling up? You know you had that guys like him, you basically had the blocked them and hold them up and take them because if you kind of think, you know, snipped, they just fall and all of a sudden, the whole that side of the line just colloused because you're falling back into the back of the tackle and the running back like what do I go down? Yeah? And I got to bounce. Yeah. You want to create that? So what elt we want him to be able to create that? Uh? This something
if he goes or not. I am I'm I'm excited to see what this demon Clark kid is gonna do. I don't know if he's gonna play this week. Okay, So he explain how did he work his way back to where he's at now? Jes So he started out on um pup from pump and then once you go through pump, it's another level of and then you have you have this twenty one day window to where you can take this player and you can either put him
back on the pump or you have to activate him. Right, So you wanted to work through it, work through it, work but you have twenty one days to do it. Yeah, so they want to see, like, all right, we think he's good, but let's make sure that it all works out before we give him that active roster spot. And he's worked his way through and the medical team and Britt Brown and and and and Jim Mahwer said, this
guy is ready to go. And when you see him like this is he's a physically opposing dude like that, Like they got some size and some speed that linebacker. So now that he's back in that mix, man, I want to see him start. I want to see dan Quinn be able to sprinkle him in there a little bit. You know, you're talking about Hankins on first and second down. You know, give that give give that young pup some some limited assignment, but let him go just release some
of that young energy. You know. It's so funny about it because sometimes you can look at him if he and sweats in a loose shirt and you'd be like, wow, he big? Is he is he fat? And then you see him in tighter stuff and then you'd be like, whoa, this is a man. It's a man. Yeah, yeah, you know what I'm saying. Why is that always our response? Right like we're a man. But look at me, be like, oh yeah here man, Like I'm a bad You're a man. People like yeah, oh not that young boy man, right
he And that's how you praying. His mind is like yeah, I said the same thing. I'm walking in and I see him on the film like damn, I'm like that's a man, Like that's that's a man right there. I'm like that joker is thick, thick, ready to go. Man. So all right, man, we're up out of here. I will not be here tomorrow. I know. I know Kurt will be back tomorrow. So before they can say anything bad about me, my niece is turning sixteen. This is my first niece, the first grand baby of the of
the crew. I basically helped raise her when she was younger. My baby girl turned sixteen. Today is actually her birthday, So tink Siah happy birthday from Uncle Jesse. I will be there. I will not miss your party, your sweet sixteen party for anything. That means hanging with the boys as well. But what, uh you know, I may calling, I may calling. We don't know. No, we don't need you, all right, that's fine. If you're gonna bond, you know,
do us like that. We don't need listen, I would choose, but I would choose my family absolutely, because Kurt, for the first time, gonna be forced to talking. Yeah, call in, you know, we always need your calling. But I'm gonna force Kurt talking. Ain't gonna be know. I want to said with your chess, Kurt. So tomorrow we're doing Cowboys defense. Uh, the Chicago Bears offense. You won't have to spend much time with Chicago Bears offense because it ain't that damn good.
So uh Cowboys defense, Chicago Bears offense tomorrow. Thank you all for being for Nate Newton, for Jesse brow baby in a good way, for Chris, for Kurt being not for Chris Beam in the back, for audio Jazz, will Willie, we had. Thank you so much for the family. We appreciate you, guys. I love you. Eliminate contingencies we out. This has been a production of Dallas Cowboys dot Com and the Dallas Cowboys Football Club.
