The following is a production of Dallas Cowboys dot Com and the Dallas Cowboys Football Club flowing out of the backfields, flooding down the sidelines. He's hanging with the Boys, broadcasting live from Dallas Cowboys World Headquarters at the Star in Frisco. Now your host, Nate Newton, Kurt Daniels, and Shannon Gross Monday from the Star. Kurt Daniels, Nate Newton, Shannon Gross. How are you doing, sir? I'm great. How you guys doing? Oh man, lovely man? Yeah? All right? Wow. Well, hopefully

we hope we didn't lie to the people. Hope Kurt didn't lie to us, because he lined up a very special guest for today's show that hopefully we'll be joining us and not too long. Cowboys Vice President of Player Personnel. I hope I got that right. Will McClay will be joining the show today. Why you why you always quick to place blame on Kurt, Because I don't want people thinking I'm not coming through. If it doesn't happen, it fails, right, Yes,

everyone should know that, Kurt. Yes, So is he coming? Kurt? I have just sent him another note and uh he said he would so well, Okay, we'll see, we'll see, We'll see y'all do anything fun this weekend. I had a busy weekend. Yeah, it wasn't really exciting. It was just you know, stuff around the house and all that. Nothing's nothing too big. Yeah, would you do, Nate? You know, I went out to Canton, man, went to the country again, hung out, man and you know, hung out with Dion

and laughing with some of my friends. But man, you know, it's just fun doing that every week. You know, I probably go out of the day. Wow, out of the show man. It's a big face on. We have a we have a monitor in here. We got all these new cameras, so we have two monitors in here against this back wall. One usually stays on NFL network and the other one sometimes is on something else, and sometimes

it's on whatever the podcast is showing. And they just showed Nate and yeah, yeah, he filled up the whole screen and that's like a fifty five in TV too. So let me ask you guys a few questions here. Okay, I like questions, Yeah, what what what's happening this week? Because now we're truly in the football The draft has happened, the rookie's mini camp has happened. What what? What's what's happening from this point on? Do you guys Noah, can

we get an update from brother Kurd or what's happened? Well, the OTA starts. This is the first time although it's not mandatory, it's voluntary, but this is the first time the whole team really gets together, rookies in hall and it starts working out. So what Wednesdays, Tomorrow, Tomorrow, Wednesday and Thursday. Wednesday is the only day available to the media. Yeah, the whole practice are just yeah, practice on Wednesday. So yeah,

this week, next week, it's three weeks of it. So this starts this week and this will be the first time the rookies actually get to practice. Yeah, bets right, Yeah, so they'll get a it'll be real eye opening. Four of my imagine. Well, what are they allowed to do? Just everything? I know they have stalled an offensive defense especialties, you know in meetings and stuff. Do they get to meet before are they before they go out on the field.

Is that part of meetings and stuff? Yeah, I'm sure it's. Yeah, a lot of its meetings. There's no pads. Well, understand, it's all uh, you know, yeah, up up until this point, they've been able to do what non compete drills and yeah, I think and then the only people that can really have the ball in their hands or receivers and quarterbacks. So now they actually get to do competition drills, right, no pads. But saying, what do you mean by that?

Is the defense and offense get to mirror one another, not getting they won't be physical, but they get to mirror one another and make moves and stuff like that. So you know, you hit the coaches screaming, but the coaches be out there with them. The coaches be screaming, don't touch, don't touch, no contacts that sell the ground. But you can hit it to the point where you're gonna go home. You'll be waking up the ground. That's

another good point. This is the first time the coaches are allowed to be out there with them, right, all the stuff's been just unorganized. That gay yeah, voluntary, seff, I think that's right. Yeah, so it's another step forwards another you know what, you know, what I wish they would do and I wish the players would understand this

more than anybody is. They need more time with the strength coach any strength and condition to coach Mike Warsick, if they could get seven to eight full weeks, especially the rookies with with with coach Warsick, man a lot of these hams, strings, and a lot of these soft tissue injuries, they would be cut down. It would be drastically cut down because, as I said last week, these guys understand that they are grown men. But now it's

grown men all over the place. Yeah, you know what I'm saying, grown men with responsibilities of whatever they whatever they put priority. You know, I gotta get my money, I gotta take care of my family. I gotta buy a new house, I gotta get investments. Whatever that priority is. It's intensified, way bigger than the Bowl game, you know what I'm saying. It does seem they in the rookie minicamp they placed a greater emphasis on conditioning. I mean,

there a third time something. It's just trying to just do nothing but you know, running and that kind of stuff. So they recognize last year there was so many handstring injuries, and it seems like it's been an ongoing problem. So hopefully they've taken some steps to kind of work them in a little. Does that happen? Does that happen to cross the league? And we're just more sensitive to it because it's you know, the team we follow the do those injuries happen with every they do? But not what

not whatever. It's just like a rash or like a rash shit us and last year they may miss us this year and be in Detroit, you know where it's just uh, for some reasoning, these guys don't have it together. Are they unfortunate? Whatever way you want to do it, the bottom line is they out. You don't want guys, especially guys you're depending on, you know, and you're depending on everybody, but you know, your first, second, and third

round picks you need to stay healthy, you know. And if they don't, man that that put reps on on on other guys. You know, and I'm not talking about backup guys in this case. It's backup guys. But you want these guys stay healthy because you want to see where they fit in your rotation. You know, you got your starters and you compete in all the time, but you gotta you got you gotta point where you start, like, hey,

this is our started. What is his first round pick gonna be our start, he's gonna be our back up. What role do we wanted to have? And you need for everybody to stay healthy to see how this thing fits, how you putting these pieces together. One thing we I guess we need to go ahead and a dress before will gets in here, because I want to talk all football and all good stuff. We got an incident with the player over the weekend. Yeah, yeah, it wasn't fortunate.

Fill us in on that, Kurt Well. Uh, Terence Williams was involved in a little car accident um and he was eventually was it rested for public intoxication. And so there's been some differing different he's had a different story of how it all happened. Um. So it's it's not

a good look. Nobody's injured, nobody's hurt, and just kind of a you know, Terence is are already in a little bit of a tough spot just because with Des gone, he's being expected to do more and had kind of a down year last year, and now you just don't want to see this. Even though it may not be that big a deal on the end, it's not something that you want to have pop up right before you start OTAs and get going right. And it's not like they don't have twenty receivers now, Yeah, that they went

out and got right. I mean he's a guy that you know, he's probably public integlication. He got arrested, didn't he. Yeah, he got arrested. That what happened was he um ran his Lamborghini into a pole. Later went home, the police found him riding an electric bicycle down the street. I think he released a state. Yeah, he released a statement, and so when the cops pulled him a run his bicycle, they arrested him for public intoxication. All of this was

like four five in the morning. Um, he did release the statement, and maybe you have it there, Shannon, that he said that you know, he he just jumped the curb because somebody in front of him and slammed on the brakes. He was trying to avoid them, called his neighbor, who took him back to his house where he called a tow truck and then he was simply riding his bicycle back to the scene to wait for the tow truck driver. And that the officer never performed any kind

of sobriety tests, he just um wrote him up. The public intoxication charge. So he does have a pretty good argument coming back, I guess. But again it's you know what, sir, it's no, it's no argument. What he has to do is uh come out from do what he has to do. That the legal system work work through this. And um, I think the cowboys and it's just Nate talking this, ain't They ain't talked to no coach. I didn't even know this had happened. So it's just what I feel.

They're tired of it. Yeah, that's from every player. Yeah, here's a statement. This is from him and his lawyer. This was I believe, released Saturday afternoon, Saturday yesterday, yesterday. Okay. I am grateful that no one, no one was injured in the accident. The driver in front of me slammed on his brakes and I turned to the left and hopped the curve to avoid hitting him. I got his insurance information and my neighbor picked me up when my

car wouldn't drive. I lived right near where the accident occurred, so my neighbor dropped me off and I called a tow truck and took the scooter from my house to go meet the tow truck driver. The police officer who I've met in the past in the neighborhood, saw me on the scooter and arrested me without performing any sobriety tests. I have always been an upstanding citizen and handled the situation the best the best way I know how. I apologize if I should have handled it a little bit differently.

It don't seemed like to me he did anything wrong, but just appearing thirty in the morning or whatever. You don't want to keep you know, you know, out racing bath foot it. I'm serious, you know, I'm serious. See, this is this is this is what I had to learn, and it probably didn't do a good job of learning. It is now that this has happened, just like I just say, racing bath Now you gotta listen things Now

it comes a point where you can't let anything else happen. Yeah, somebody got to say, Terrence, how about just for the next four months, just go home, or at least go home. These all happened after four am. It's like, okay, you know, go home at two. It's just saying nothing good happens after midnight. No, No, it comes a point now, trust me when I tell you, sometimes it's just good to go home. You know, if you ain't out bettering yourself

as a Dallas cowboy helping your family, go home. Because I ain't saying that, can't have m at your house, but they don't rest you public the topication at your house. You know, you just home, right, So I'm being honest. You know, that's my way of saying, hey man, I care about you. Man, just for the next three or four months, just go home. Yeah, you know you're you're making yourself a target. You may have not done anything.

This kid may have not done a thing, no more than just looked up, saw a car, jumped the curve, went back, went home, handled his business, came back. I'm with you now for the next four or five months. It's called be quiet. It's called go home. Not at two o'clock, not at one o'clock, not at twelve o'clock. Let's try ten thirty. Let's just go home. People say, well, here, young man, and you shouldn't say this, You shouldn't do that, Okay. I care about the kid, right, not about whether he

should go out or not. Right now, it's go home. Sometimes you just got to remove yourself. That's in, Yeah, that's in life, not just being an athlete. Sometimes when some things happened, you just gotta say, you know what, I just gotta get completely out of that situation and don't go home. Don't allow that kind of stuff to even be a question because I'm not gonna be around at doing anything wrong or right? Is you know, regardless.

You know what's amazing is you know Vince Young. Uh, just guys that I that I was, that I knew from a distance. Uh. A lot of these guys, parents, families and friends depend on them. But the same people that depend on them don't have a nerd to say, hey, baby, there's what you need to be doing. I mean, and now, don't mean you have to listen because my dad didn't need me. My dad was self efficient with the sign. Whatn't you just try going home? Yeah? You know what,

don't you just keep your mouth closed? You know, once you do this different, I'd be like dad, I'm growing man out of that. Okay sign? But now I wish I wish I would have been go home. Yep, chill out. Yeah, it'll be interesting. I mean, Terence is coming off his worst year. Yeah, and he's at twenty eight. He's an old man. On that wide receiver corps sou and see let me let me share this with you twenty eight and has not approved and improved. Dad's thirty has not improved.

That's what if you take other receivers in the league that makes the same amount of money that they make every year, they do something to improve route running, not dropping ball, being in the right place, catch the ball, catch the ball. Yeah, And you know, there comes a point where there's there's there there's a tipping point right where you'll you'll put up with a lot more from somebody that's giving you And that's just like a real job.

You put up with a lot more somebody that's giving you the output than somebody that's just doing you know, the middle out. And I'm you know, and I'm not saying that that's you know, the terrence is at that point or he's not, you know, he's not. There will be a point, Yeah, there will be a point where it's like, okay is And it seems like they're trying to get at least the what they're saying is they

want the right kind of guys in here. And at some point, yeah, you're gonna play, You're gonna have you know, Michael back in the day got away with a lot more than a lot of other guys because of what he could do on the field, right, And that's just like you have a star employee, they might be able to come in late more often than someone that's just do it and you must get away with everything. I don't get away with anything because he got employee. It's

probably walking here whenever he wants. Well and see this is this is what's so so makes you blood run cold? Is he could nothing more happened probably than what he's just said. Yeah, just an honest mistake. But now you go to training camp, drop a ball. Now you go to training camp, run a wrong route, right, you don't think the media going to just be coming at this kid. Yep. And he's you know, he's recovering from a broken foot. He won't be participating in the OTA, he's a mini

camp anything like that. So yeah, so he's already behind, already behind. So then you add this too, Like you said, you start, you gotta list now, and then you gotta and then you get a wreck. And the first thing they thinking is you know what the train is thinking? Well, did his feet all right? Right? His foot I'm being honest, man, you could ride a bicycle. Was that the foot that was supposed to hit the break? Wow? Who shot? Hey, doug Hey think you were going to take shots? But

that was a mild shot. I think everything would be better if Kurt were chaperoning the players on the weekend. Oh yeah, wild and crazy life there. Hey, I tell you what, that would be a good guy. Don't let Kurt fool you. When Kurt wants to cut loose, kurtl throw some Whitney Houston karaoke at two o'clock in the morning. That was a once in a time never to be done again. I enjoyed. Didn't even be spoken about. I'm sorry,

are you shooting camera video or iPhone video? At the time, I was so excited that Kurt was doing what he was doing. I choked it in. Oh yes. So so, do we have a list of guys because we know that maliek. Collins won't be yeah, because of his foot surgery. Is a list of that won't be participating? I know Sean Lee because the age and you know his deal. How much would he would he do? Coaches? What first

press conferences? Win tomorrow? Wednesdaynay? So just guys that we know that I would think a lot of the veterans, you know, the Tyrann Smith, they're gonna be yea yeah, so. But I haven't seen a list of guys that are other than Collas and yeah and uh with injuries and Williams. I'll try to find that out. Yes, I'm sure there's gonna be several that won't be doing much of anything. All right, let's take a quick break. When we come back. Maybe Will McClay will be with us, maybe he will not,

but we will see when we come back. On hanging with a ball and be hard to find the right resource for learning about important financial matters. Deep blue or Oh yeah, he's getting he's getting Nate on a one of their one of their documentaries. So he's got a interview set up with the none other than Nate Newton. Yes, after

Tommy John dot Com Forward Slash Cowboy or something. Quickest play like, wow, really I got mine on the day with mich you'll pop out every day like that. No, that that ain't happening, Doug, I heard something funny, Douglas. Yeah, no, we don't. We haven't heard from inn of the callers. Man. I know we've been neglecting your calls there. Well, we tried it that one day and nobody was interested. So you want a couple of quick hit minor Cowboys news, Yes,

go with it. Third round pick Michael Gallup has fully signed his contract, so that think that means all of the draft picks are now signed and the Cowboys have waived offensive lineman Jern Jones and signed guard Damien Mama ways from I don't know Damien Mama. Humm, m a, you know, I don't know much about him. Me I would have drafted. Who do we drafted? I compensatory peaks because I'd have drafted all all offensive linemen. I wonder why. No,

let me tell you why. It's two things. In the training camp you can't never get a good enough look at and when once these people get injured and ain't no more out there offensive lineman and quarterbacks. That's why you gotta always draft one and and and the Green Bay has been excellent every every year. Green Bay gonna get them a quarterback. It could be their last pick. They're gonna find them. They're gonna pluck them a quarterback.

And uh, you gotta get a quarterback, and you gotta get offensive linemen because they are the hardest thing in the world to find once training camp start and your guys start going down. Yeah, so, I mean that's just what I feel, man. I mean, I'm just throwing that out there. Man. But they're taking all offensive linement. Look at here, we got what a couple of more shows, right, yeah? Not many? We got not many. And then we go out west. Yeah, so me and you will be out west.

And what I'm working on And I talked to Douglas about it, and I talked a little bit of Kurt got to talk to you about it is somehow we got to catch them guys coming through the fence and right didn't come through the fence and everybody. We got to catch them with some mics. Man, man, you gotta be on that man, you know putting you know, hey, man, gonna go for one hundred and fifty in practice day out and that you're gonna get a couple of sacks.

We gotta get these guys. Oh, when they're going out to practice, going out in that way, they can get comfortable with us. So when we present our new show of how we're gonna be in there in the locker room. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, they're comfortable with us starting in training camp and they'll be okay with us when we go over there won't be like where you coming from. That's a good idea. So I want to pass about the Big Boss. I mean that's got some pull over there.

The big Boss is not in this room. We know who the Big Boss is, but you know the second big Boss. Hey, I'm down for whatever whatever makes this show, whatever, whatever keeps helping pay the bills, I'm down with it all right. Are you coming to camp this year? Are you going to come half excuse me, like the last three, I'm gonna try to come instead of coming at the very end when all of you are zombies and don't care anymore, I'm gonna try to come earlier. How he

called you a zombie so you don't care? What do what do you what do you mean by earlier? Well? Maybe like at the start, you know, don't come out for a little bit and then leave by the So you're gonna come out, get us in a rhythm with three people in the show and bail halfway. You guys are professionals. You can handle it. What do you want me to do? Come out for the whole time. I want you to come drink Miller lights with me in party. Somebody telling us to go home, and now you're telling

Nates come out there, Nates. Nate's just there for the rice peel off and the cookie. Let me ask this question here. It's about Douglas. Oh, okay, do you think he was really sick with the flu because he told me he had two different strains of flu? Do you really think he was doing something else, sniffing glue or something? I mean, you know, hey, did you did you tell my man, what happened Douglas? When you feel your little

did you tea when you ate the toilet seat? Yeah? Yeah, so yeah, I didn't have two strains of the flu. Apparently that's what That's what the doctor reported. I don't believe that Douglas both type A and you know what I think Terence Williams story over, I can't he got something in if you want to tell you about I didn't crack my lambornghini into the toilet. It was just my face. But yeah, so the tooth chipped, and I

think it's embedded in my lip. So you threw up so hard that you passed out, Yes, wrecked your face into the toilet, chipped your tooth, all those things, and the tooth chip is embedded in the bottom lip. That's my working theory. Right now, I'll be going to the dentist to get my tooth filed. True. Yeah, I think it is, because there's a definite lump was hardcore in

my lip. Lazy got some super scar tissue. A lot of times if you do something to your to your lip or something in your mouth, it'll immediately form scar tissue. So that may be which because I did that to my my top lip. When I got punched into face one time. Wow, I got to knock what the other guy looked like? No, I messed his ankle up really bad, fell on the ground and I'll tell you about it. Off area. It was. It was. It was a good night. So yeah, I'll report to you guys when I know

for sure that they had to remove a tooth chip. Okay, can you believe this? Yeah, you believe this was? It was a nightmare Man two. When he told me two strains of flu, when people have that from one strain, he beat two strains. Beat it. How'd you find out you had two different strains of flu? That's uh. I had to go in for a normal check up like a week later. Um, and the doctor said, did they tell you that you tested positive for both type A and TYPEE? And I said no, And so I looked

it up on the internet. And when you have both types, you are like an incubator for a mutation of the flu. So like the beginning a new eductation. But as far as I know, I didn't pass you. You you remind me to move the species right. Just things coming out of her more and more your ground zero for the destruction of this fishly over let us clear out of the area. Yet the silver lining is that it was late in the season so that there was no shortage of tamiflu. So like my wife went on it, my

daughter went on it. My dad and my mom both went on it because my dad is the one who drove me to the doctor because no one trusted me to drive after passing out into the toilet. So it was but there was plenty of tamiflu to go around, and our Cowboys insurance pays really great on tamiflu. I'm here to report. Okay, so you kept you kept the Lamborghini in the garage. Yeah, the hot wheel, the hot

little hot wheels on my shelf. Wow. I thought this show that you don't necessarily need, am I don't want to learn? Yeah, well, the things that a guy leads off a show read an email with hey, you sent it? I didn't. I'll take a fall for the show. I'll do that. I wanted to keep all the listeners in form, for the ones that were wondering where's Douglas at today?

I just wanted them to know. Want of them, you know, if they wanted a different show, you have to have Douglas here just the same I wanted wanted to send you, you know, get well wishes. It was no, I laughed. I got a good laugh out of it. Well, good, What are you looking up over their Kurt? I was trying to figure out who Damien Mama is? Who is he? He was? He played at USC now he was just in the two thousand seven seventeen draft. I guess I

don't know. He spent one year on Chiefs practice squad, started this offseason on the Giants practice squad, and they released him last week and we picked him up. So outside of that, I can't tell you the whole lot. Yeah, Nate, we're talking about training camp while I go what what position are you? I mean, there's a lot We've talked about this on the show. There's a lot of interesting stories and a lot of you know, new coaches, new players,

kind of complete overhauls at something. What are you going into camp other than um your pet cat? Yeah? What are you? What are you looking at? What? What? What? Are you? Just just trying to see how how these new receivers the battle every day with the with the dvs, because you got it's not dvs are fresh right, and then we went out and got a bunch more dvs and you know, we got eight hundred wide receivers. That's

gonna be the that's gonna be the ticket. Can guys adjust to the new devas uh coordinator for his secondary because he's the passive coordinator. Uh? How does that can work? Man? Because it's gonna be some a lot of people coming down on the third week after that third week of training camp preseason, there's gonna be a lot of free guys from my team because you can't keep all the wide receiving, you can't keep all the dbs, and guy's gonna have to compete hard. And it's gonna start at

head OTAs. You know, if I'm a rookie or first or second year guy and I'm not established in who I am, man, I'm like, I'm competing. The coach gonna tell me every day, Hey, man, hey, hey, hands off, Yeah, calm down. I'm gonna be competing, and I'm gonna letting them know I'm competing. Bro. It ain't, but it ain't. But so many positions out there, at safety, at corner, at wide receiver, at the outside, and the inside. I mean, everything's up for grabs and Terence Terrence Williams is not

gonna be there dead. It's gonna h Switzer's gone, Whitton's gone, witness Gonne. It's gonna be competition at that. Whoever can catch your ball. You got to show these people. You got to show the head coach who's offensive guy. You got to show the coordinator offensive coordinator. You got to show your new receiver's coach. And you on, man, you

gott it's it's some competition. And for if a guy walked out there with his chests out of like, hey, you know I'm already established who is established out there? Name me five guys on either the secondary side or the wide receiason that's established that we can say, yeah, we can hang our hat on this guy. Yea, only guy guys you have that are established or what heath and Byron Jones and that's yeah established that what yeah? Yeah? Established that you established with at least a few years

on the team. So I'm looking at that. You'd like to think receiver might have you know, you've got you would hope Beasley, you don't know, you'd hope Alan Hearns. But man, they they it's one thing to be a part of the team. It's one thing when coaches and other players expecting you to take the league. Somebody got to take the lead, and not by mouth, bah bah blah,

by action. Somebody got to take the lead here, brother, I mean when when when a route is not being ran, route ran right, it's more than just a coach Holland, because that's about two or three days a man. Here, we go ahead, coach Holland, you know, but somebody got to be able to run that route correctly. Somebody got to be able to defend that route correctly and make plays. Toy fire everybody up and keep you going through training camp. I mean that training camp is what they used to be.

But still they're hard. They are they're they're consistent and the tedious man. I mean, the guy that can do it the longest, the right way normally wins. We got eleven receivers, that's what I'm saying, and nine of them or either near to the team or been here one year. That's unreal. And you know what's crazy looking at it

coming into this sea. The one guy that you looked at on paper and you were kind of like, well, they could actually on paper afford to let this one go was Beasley, and now he looks like he might be one of your top most established guy on the team right now, you know, but Dad's gone, Switzer gone. You brought any shocks, little Beasley all without the time that clock, I don't clock out. I'm document those are really man, So really man, how could I know? How

could I ain't? No? Could I ain't know? How could I know? How could I know? What did he say? It's hard I don't know what. Don't like when I was saying, man, if my grandma used to telling me, when I used to listening to rout man, what is he saying? And I can tell every word that person was saying. But now turned into my grandmama. Where you play that Douglas Nate just kind of yeah, I'm trying to figure out stared off the digit, trying to pick up the words. That was the hook okay, rain or whatever.

Here's here's him rapping, okay, trying to give it. I know, I ain't even nothing, never dad, I could all well, my kids said, no that daddy eaveen what I thought? I could I know? Then he starts going back in what's the name of that song. It is called shock value. Okay, could I know away? I guess you want his kids and no, huh yeah daddy, So okay, he's got something there. Yeah, those things can can go a lot worse than that. Yeah, I'd tell you what it's called option route catch that

daddy is so bad. You know, Kurt going in the camp, what are you? What are you looking for? Or even OTAs well. I excited to see what some of these rookies can do now, you know, be facing him matching up with the big guys, especially m Vanderesh. You know, how's he gonna look next to Lee and Jaylen Smith. Jaylen Smith's another guy. You know, he had the quote here last week he's he's better than Notre Dame. So he thinks he's going to be better than his best

when he was at Notre Dames. That makes Smith, oh man, you know what? Uh? This kid is down here, downhill player. He loves coming forward, but I mean downhill. He don't like to wait on that. And that's why vander Esh would be a big plus for him because he can be a situation a player. We can let him rush the passer, we can let him get it in. Just come downhill. I think putting him over Sam it's not a thing to do because now he's got to battle

someone mar He's got to be free to run. He's he's got to be free to come down hill and the field gaps and let his instincts. I hope his instincts can take over for him. So how do they fitted in? I don't know, how do you fit it me in? Because Damian Wilson gonna be your starter, should be kind in the camp should be he should be. Don't just you you ain't seen You haven't seen this kid take on a blocker. Damian Wilson's least been at Sam and taking on a tight end, taking on the tackle. Uh,

we haven't seen Jayleen do that. You know. Jaylen has come downhill with great speed and velocity, but he just sometimes went into the wrong hole. And that's just come with growing and being a better player. But now Banteres from what I understand, from what they drafted him, man, he should be a you know when they open up, Yeah, you know it's gonna get every opportunity, Yeah, to be the starters. You know how you're gonna get him man

Lee and Jane. You know if somebody's gonna I'm wondering, get a lot of leash it and get a lot of work. No now now, But I'm just saying for the season. You know how how those guys gonna rotate in I wonder if I mean, I think Damon Wilson's been a fine player. He hadn't been a star by any means, but he's been done what he needs to do. But I think they know what they have in him. I don't know if he's gonna get that much better or maybe now it's you know, they try something different.

I don't know. What do you think about What do you think about the tight end position? Now that Witton's gone? You got Swam in the mix. You got seems like they really like jar Well. I like Swam just because he's been on the show. You know, I had a chance. Yeah, he's a good blocker. Yeah, they say he's got good hands. That's that. I'm not worried about that position. I mean, maybe I should, but I'm not worried about the tight end.

Do you think there'll be a clear cut number one tight end or you think it'll be they'll they'll do about committed to they find out who's the best. Once they find out who's the best, let's say this kid from Stamford, it's the better all round guy guy, they're gonna let him play. I mean they're gonna let him play because because because for this was there, he wasn't coming off the field. Now for this team, you don't.

That's that's too predictable. You know, this guy running, this guy running and then you block, this got run out, then we throw. That's too predictable. One of the guy that finds this rhythm. You know, they'll still have guys going in and out of the game because I think this kid for Stamford can block. So you you you go two tight ends. You know that that right there. Man, When you can go two tight ends, they don't know,

they don't know what you're running, that's awesome them. Or either go just full wide receivers, get them tight end, go full wide receiver. With Zeke standing back there, I put him against any safety in the game and put our offensive line against any set up in the game. You know, you can go to extra dB or you can go to the extra linebacker. You lose it, Yeah, you're losing. With Zeke back there in our offensive line.

Come on, now, all Connor Williams got to do is come up in there just you know, just halfway do his job. Brother. I do agree with Nate. I'm not too worried about tight end either, just because I think that. I mean, they may not have Jason Witton circa two thousand and seven, but I think they've got they can put together the same production that probably would have given you this year. Yeah, what do you uh? And I

completely forgot what I was gonna ask. I had a question for you, and um hate Nate mentioned Connor Williams. I think that's another that's gonna be interesting to see how he gets with those with the big boys. And I don't even play man, don't even play. Just he

left guard. Yeah, just put him in there. Yeah, don't see you know how you you know you now you come in the highs, your mama so you no noing dada and then your mama has signed on even coming here playing because you know if you come here plan I'm gonna tell you behind up that said don't even play, just go out and didn't do what you gotta do, don't even play put. I have a feeling he's gonna he's got a nasty side that I bet we see

in camp. I wouldn't matter. I wouldn't be surprised to see him get into it with some of those defensive guys because he just some of the tape I saw. He put it on you and until the whistle blows, if you're still moving, he can drive me in the ground. So you see that box jump thing he did? Yeah? Crazy? You know what, man, I hate this old Bruce Lee saying, just put the kid in there, cause you know what, I don't care about no box. I don't care about what happened in college. I just want to go out

then just beat some folks up. Now, Bruce Lee. Bruce Lee said, you know what I'm saying, Bruce Lee, the board he got got boards, don't hit back. I don't care about the I want to see if it gets grown. Men. I remember what I was gonna ask you guys. You remember that movie? Yeah, I can't think of the movie. The name of the mode broke broke two, broke two boards.

He looked at Bruce Lee. Bruce Lee, boards will hit back, and then Bruce they went to fight and Bruce hit about dude came back, dude to get knocked it out. Those movies are those movies are so great. You know. The funny thing about the Bruce Lee movie, they'd been Donna moved on to a different topic and then in the words just catching up, yea whole different watching the sound down, just watch the fight. Yeah, but anyway, go ahead. I'm sorry, No Rico. You hear anything recently about Rico?

How does he fit into this title? They're just gonna hope he's developed more. You know, he's I think athletically he's probably the best of him. He's one of the best athletes out there. But you know there's more to it than just being good at running. His issue his issues blocking, right, Yeah, he's got hands in That's what I'm saying. Like you said, Nate, if he comes in the game, it's like, well, you know what, you know, he could be a situation a guy like he deal

with a lot of other tight ends. You know, hey, bring him in in the red zone. Uh, letn't be a situational guy. But you know from what I what I got is Rico is Rigo is Rico. Probably you know, it ain't that they don't want him to be good. Rico gotta want to be good. Ye. Blocking is a determination thing, just like playing defense, you know, for a defens linement, it's how bad you want it. You read your first kid and you go, yeah, you know they've got I mean, he's got three tight ends ahead of him.

You can't imagine they're going to carry four on the roster. So this may be kind of make or break for him. Yeah, speaking of make or break, what's the word on will anything coming on? I haven't heard from him, so who knows. He probably got pulled into a meeting or something. Hurt, set up, shut up a special guest. Don't matter, man, don't matter. Webb got some good promotion, didn't we We got gross? Ah, Douglas can share more scary tales from the bathroom. Let's take a break. Maybe we'll be here,

Back hanging with the boys, We're back. Final segment. I Guess of the Week for us that's on once a week. I want to when we go to weekly I guess training can't right, hold on, you wanted the big bosses man. You can't. You can't make a call yet. Now I can't. I can't. I can make a call, but that doesn't

mean that it is happening. I can just make something up. But I guess we'll be daily once we go out to camp. I think, when do we know when camp is yet? Last week of June July. Yeah, usually the last week. They haven't set the dates, but that's usually when it is. Yeah, haven't officially released. I wonder if we'll do camp back here a week or two. I would think, so, let's probably three weeks out there in the last two here. I'd be my guess, but they haven't.

They haven't asked me, so they don't ask me that stuff. So yeah, so Nate brought it up earlier. The plan this year is we struggled a little bit getting getting in studio guests because of the time of the show and things like that, so we may move the show around to be able to accommodate locker room this year.

And the plan is we think we have the technology to be able to take a wireless mic across the building and interview some of these guys in the locker room if we can't get them to walk over here to the studio. So we're going to experiment with that. Some days I think we'll send Nate in there, some days I'll go in there. So hopefully we can get a player or two on this year. And that's been a wee can make that work. Yeah, we've been trying to get people on now during the like Will, but

I mean Monday mornings is a tough time. Everybody's back in meetings out. He's a little bit busy right now. Yeah, so we've we thought we'd we've asked others before that said yeah, I'd love to come on, but you know, they have meeting some coaches and all meeting stuff comes up all the time. Yeah, So hopefully when the season gets rolling, we'll have a little more success with timing and all that. Yeah. One are the players this week?

They start Tomorrowmorrow, three days Tomorrow, Wednesday, Thursday, same schedule next week and for the next two three weeks. So so we don't they won't be in here on Monday, so we won't be able to grab any of them. Yeah, I mean, and if they were, they're working out. Yeah, we needed next week? Have that schedule? Have they signed out of schedule? What's the routine when we go out on Wednesdays? What we can Yeah? Next week? What's up? Is Memorial Day? Next week? Yeah, well we'll be doing

the show Monday. It'll be uh, that's right, I'll be here. Will we be here Monday? I don't know if we do or not. I mean, there's nothing going on with the team wise, I'm guessing no. Yeah, we will probably moved the show to probably wins Tuesday Wednesday at a different time. Schedules for the Otazo is Garret. We'll do his press conference at ten thirty five. Okay, practice will be at eleven is on Wednesday. Wednesdays only. Practice will be at eleven in The locker room opens up at

one ten Wednesdays. So they won't be a next field. Well they probably that's just what's available to the media. So I'm sure they're probably gonna have other times out there. Um, you know, I don't know. They can't go on the field, but one time, right and OTAs that's I'm not sure that's probably right. But yeah, they can't go on the field, but one time, I don't think. So, what are they doing. What are they doing during OTA's Nate. Are they getting

work in or they yeah, you installing? You installing and you go out and then you do a little competitive stuff like I say, the base is trying to mirror guy, you know, but it out being physical with him, because if you get physical, the league step in and you know, do some type of punishment or suspensions or whatever how

they do it. But you know, uh, it's just funny because and I'll tell us every year where we can't to rookie Minicamp, and it's at least seventy five eighty guys in the rookie Minicamp, and that's not counting the guy the first year, guys that miss last year, And man, it would be a it would be like a blood bath. You know. Do we have on helmets. I think we're having helmets, and it'd be I mean your hands, your hands and told fingernails be just ripped up and your

knuckles just all scraped up. Man. You know, you spend more time like you're gonna come on and field that morning. They'll put in some plays. They put in about twenty five plays that you ain't gonna be able to remember in the end, you are the beat each other up for about an hour and a half and then you come back in and they're gonna put in another thirty five plays that you ain't gonna remember because you didn't

remember the last thirty five. You know, they just bombarding you with plays and this, that and the other in Chanta, see who's the smartest and who can take this beat? And the last Oh my god, man, y'all did two days back then where y'all full blast. Yeah, man, you know you like, and then they'll be telling you south ground, south to ground. I mean, I'm about to get cut here back in it. When I was in college, they

used to that's when they had twelve rounds. When I first got in college, they would have a mini camp and some guys would not even get to practice and be getting released. It's when they had like a hundred rookies. Wow, and they would they would finally get you in as a free agent, late round pick, and they'll look at you, your body, your body, and they would just cut you just bout looking at you. Oh yeah, I mean because you got one hundred and ten rookies and they're gonna

try to cut down to ninety. So they can bring in another thirty five rookies off other people's teams. So when you got the training camp and you're gonna ask my man, Brad, it'd be about two hundred guys in camp. Wow. And uh, that's when they had six weeks. And man, I mean it used to be ugly six weeks of training camp. Oh yeah, then then they broke it down to five weeks. Now now it's I think it's four weeks.

But you know, you would have two weeks of nothing but rookies and then the veterans will come in and they'll have a break in period for two or three days, but we're still going wide the full pads getting it on. And back in those days two you were it's not like you were working out all year, were you. I mean, at least I know back in the land day days you didn't work out. But but when Jimmy Johnson came,

that changed. It became a year round deal. When Jimmy Johnson came, He's like, that's that's why all the people weren't admit it. But that's why all these rules in place, because Jimmy was the last of the dinosaurs with a new kick to it. It wasn't. It wasn't. It wasn't even that he added on to we already already a blood bath where he gave it a twenty four seven, two hundred and sixty five days a year blood bath. Now did he bring that in? Is that what he

did in Miami? And is that what you did in college? Is it was a year round h in college, you know you worked out, You work out year round. But Jimmy, by being no rules to cut to the pro game, we we basically you know, you had guys where you had the offseason training where Jimmy made it full time and Jimmy started the Motier two because you know, but we were gonna Monday through through Thursday, you know. And uh,

that's just how it was for him. You know. He he told you, look here, man, this is your job. And uh, if you don't want to be here, you know, I ain't saying that as a mandatory, but just don't show up. If you don't want to be here, that's fine. I don't show up. You know, he would saying here, but you know, when the season started, don't expect to be there because he was. If you wasn't elite, you was gonna when you was the fifty third guy on

the roster, the fifty second guy, the fiftieth guy. Well, I pulay, if you weren't in the top twenty four. He was always expendable. I'm gonna start telling Kurt that I ain't telling me you ain't got to be here. But if you don't want to be, just don't show up. Just like pase Up, you're just trying to phase me up. Voluntary mandatory is what he used to call it, mandatory violence, however they put it. I was just to be like, I don't know what y'are saying, but I'm gonna be there.

How early did y'all start earlier than they do now? We would take two months off, so the seasonally in January February, you have March off. Then he wanted jam by the middle of April. Wow, that's kind of weird, is now? Yeah, you had to be rolling by, you know, by April fifteen. He wanted everybody were rolling, were rolling. He wanted Warsick to have you from April May and then chest in June. He wanted you to have at

least eight weeks with Warsick. He wanted you to be ready to play football and coach wars to get us ready to play football hopefully still is Yeah, yeah, they have owners meetings again. Is it this week or next week? You know, I don't know. I know there's league meetings going on, the league meeting. I don't know if the owners are actually bold. Okay, look it up here. I thought I had heard that. Maybe maybe that was wrong. Well, fellas, let's go home. Actually, let's just really go upstairs and

work some more. That's what you two guys got. Nate's got more interviews to do. Yeah, you gotta get in there with that, right. Wow. Yeah, even were you were? You Cowboys colors today? Like it? I like it? Now? What are you looking at, Kurt? They are having what's our? Is that young Beasley? Yeah? You Beasley? Wow, he's gonna reap what he's sow and so his kids can reap and weep or whatever he was saying. I like it.

I like it. It is good. Well, Kurt, thanks for showing up, Nate, thanks for bringing man Douglas, Thanks for not chipping your tooth on the microphone. Hey, hey, they bring it up on Douglas to be looking at me? Lay there. Yeah, keep us updated Kirk referred to it as Scary Tales from the toilet. Last segment, that's multiple men. Wait for the next one. That's what she said. Thanks for everybody else. It pushes all the buttons. We'll be back,

maybe not Monday. We'll figure out sometimes maybe. Yeah, we gotta figure this out quick because I'm gonna be out of town, all right. We'll figure it out quick and let you guys know on the old Twitter account. So for all of us here to all of you wherever you are that's been hanging with the boys. This has been a production of Dallas Cowboys dot Com and the Dallas Cowboys Football Club.
