Whether a Mari plays or he doesn't play, this team has to win this game if it wants to be

considered a true NFC contender. There's no way you can lose this game. Because if they lose, drop this game at home. You know, to me, They're just a run of the mill team and I'll be twenty nine years without another Converse Championship game. If they win this game, it puts them in the conversation because this is the first team since probably the Saints and the Packers where they're on even keels with one another. I think Nate hit it on the head earlier in the week. He

seems are pretty even. They're very similar. You know, they want to run the ball, they don't want to turn the ball over, and they got two pretty good defenses, and our stats kind of lineup right with them. So in my opinion, it's either win, be be a contender or your loser. You're gonna be, you know, looking towards the draft. That's that's how I look at this game. I'm still pissed at this Jets game. It's underneath my skin. These are the games that we cannot lose, cannot play to the level of our competition, and so I want the fellas to know that even though we just want I'm still pissed. I'm not even worried about the Vikings game. I think that's a great matchup for us.

I think, you know, Zeke is getting back in the football shape. He's rolling around, we got some injuries, defenses playing solid. I feel like the synergy is coming together. Just need back to to be comfortable. I think too much be comfortable with. What was great in the last game is he used his feet when he needed to. He wasn't overthinking and holding onto the ball too long, you know what I mean? Right right? Let me ask

you a question. You were upset about the Jets game, but I know you have an ongoing trash talk battle with someone close to you. Would you have rather have lost to the Jets or the Giants? Oh wow, that's a hard question. I mean, you know, I'm gonna take I guess the Jets because Stephen, they can't claim the Giants. I mean, I mean he can't. He can't claim the Jets. Rather, I'm sorry, you know he's he's a Giants fan. I don't know what you know. Apparently his favorite team is

That's a sci fi joint with myself and Kate Walsh and um, it's a great cast, a great great film, great project. Yeah. So you know, we're chugging along. Man, we're pushing. What's say you're doing

a film with your girlfriend called Fatal Affair? No, I said, my good friend, good friend. No, I just you know, I'm not sure I want to do a movie with my girlfriend affair. You know, I don't think my wife would have with my girlfriend. What's what's the what's the coolest place you've ever shot on location? Um? Wow, that's a good question. Um, I guess at this point it would have to be Africa. Um. Yeah, I did a film in Africa called Deadly Voyage um from years ago,

but that was my first time in Africa. So um, in terms of filming, I haven't really been to I mean, I've been in the UK and things like that, but I haven't been in like, you know, CG or something like really exotic location. How did you become a Cowboy fan? Because you're where are you from? Originally? I'm from Brooklyn, New York. Shout out Brooklyn? What up? B K? I Um? You know, when I was a kid man, my favorite player was Tony Dorset. It's really simple. That was just

you know, I used to playing Pop Warner football. I played for the Brooklyn Skyhawks and Tony Dorset was my guy. That was my favorite player, and he was a Cowboy and so then I was a Cowboys fan. And that's just it just stuck. You know. Is it cool as an actor to give out your age? Is that a good thing? Our bad thing? I don't care. I don't know either all I'm pretty sick, you know, you know, a good thing or the bad thing? I worked with? You know, God gave me my time in so I

worked with guys. So I'm forty six years old and I'm proud of that. And um, you know, you know I'm still here. I've been banging out since I was seventeen. That was my first film was Juice, And uh, you know it's all a blessing. Man, Man, I we are the same age for another three days. And I thought you were so much older than me. Wow, I don't know how to make that, lad, Ain't I'm kidding you? Look you look really young for forty six. Well, thank you, man? Yeah? Who? Who? Who? Who? Who?

Is your favorite guy? A girl that helped inspire you or did you have it from the start, someone that you admire from a distance in your world of movies and productions and play stuff. Well, you know, my, my, my hero in this entertainment business was always Sydney Portier, you know. And and just being a young guy coming up watching his his elegance, his grace, his power, um and his his ability as as as a as an artist, as an actor. You know, that was my That was

my hero. And I've had the fortune to be able to meet him in place to face and tell him that. And even even more fortunate was he knew or who I was? Like? You know what I mean? Yeah, that was That was a great thing. But you know, my my super hero in lights is my mom. Right, you've told us that, Yeah, you know, that's that's my superhero and that's the reason why I'm here and and even have my head on straight. So you know, you know, Shannon's superhero is his mom too, but they have a

different relationship. And I wish you could meet her because this is day. Have more brother and sister than mom. My mom calls in every Friday, which she'll be calling in later in this show, and she picks football games and right now her record is twenty two and fourteen on the year against the spread, and I don't that's really good and I don't. I don't get it, Like I don't know. She just watches TV and she regurgitates.

She's gonna kill me for saying this because she's listening, regurgitates what she hears, but she knows football, like we have conversations, and I'm like, I don't get it. So, yeah, my my mom is a part of the show, just like, yeah, my mom. My mom is not a sports you know woman, but hey man, listen, you can't be managed. However, she getting its working, Yeah, right, you're right, Well, I want to get some more thoughts, your thoughts on the Cowboys

and what did they have that Michael Bennett deal? You like, where the defense is heading now? Yeah, you know what, I wasn't really skeptical because you know, Bennett is still you know, in shape, he's still doing his thing, obviously towards like leaning towards the end of a career of a great career. But I think, you know, in terms of our scheme on defense, he's exactly what the doctor ordered, you know. Uh, you know, Uh, DeMarcus has been you know,

the last couple of games stage. I don't know if he was injured. I don't know the inside information, but he seemed like he was a little lethargic the first few games, but he's been coming around and now you know, this last two games, Bennett is just explosive wherever you put them at, He's just he's just reaking having So I think that's a great thing for us, you know,

moving forward. You know, as long as we show up that secondary, um, I think we'll be good to go, because we gotta you know, the key to our defense in my opinion, and is we gotta have that that that that rush on on that front flour. We gotta have pressure on the quarterback to let because I think our dbs are good in coverage. But if we don't have pressure to put pressure on the receiver to get out of their breaks a little quicker, or you know, things of that nature, it kind of screws us up

a little bit, you know what I mean? Yes, sir, So when do we expect to see you, sir in the studios? Oh, I'm coming down. We're definitely gonna be there for the game on December fifteenth. I forget who we're playing. I think it's the Ram. Yeah. Yeah, we're gonna be down there. We we might come a little sooner, but hopefully we'll be in you know, we'll be in the playoffs. Yeah, and we'll get we'll get to see

a lot of each other. Yeah, we're gonna be on the road and I'm coming and you know who knows. You know, I want us to get to that championship and then we'll see what happens after that. You know, I think you know the same sub formidable. Obviously, Packers are still there. Um, you know, we gotta take care of but we really got to take care of Vikings like this is to me, this is the character game of the season so far. You know, this is who we are and this is what it is for this season.

And I feel like we need to go on there, punch him in the mouth, punch him in the stomach, and do what we do. And so I think Kellen Moore has done a great job of offensive play calling. But the one thing that I see it that that is off a little bit is he keeps starting out with passes. You know, he keeps starting I think we need to start with the run. Run the ball. Got the beats right there, run the ball. Everybody knows what we're gonna do. And that's the whole thing is you

can't stop it. Get the offensive line going in and run, block and get Zeke going, you know, on first and second. Then you throw and hopefully we can get down get a field goal or score. Then the next possession. Now you want to throw it around a little bit like get you know, you need to get those big fellas going because the scheme, I think it puts too much pressure on Dak in the beginning of the game and

he's thinking too much. The great thing about Dak in his first season was he wasn't thinking, he was just playing by instinct. And you saw he has great instincts, and we need to get him back to their where he's not thinking so much. Who so I thought it too? Should I? You know? Is rpo as it? This is it? Get get this guy handing the ball off and we're moving the ball up the field and then Dad can get to his athleticism in his instincts in the right way.

What is your if you're scheduled to shoot on a Sunday, how do you manage to? Do you watch the game after you shoot? Do you just skip that day? What does the Sunday look like if you're on a job. Well, you know, because it's football, we don't we don't we never we have to watch it live. We can't take the game. So the great thing is technology. You know, we got we got the Sunday football ticket on direct TV.

You know, hopefully I have a signal where I'm at and I'll have it on my phone, you know, and and watch as I go as I can. But you know, luckily we usually film Monday to Friday, sometimes Saturday and and uh fortunately for me, you know, usually Sunday to go off day. So you you're you're watching, you're watching the game. Oh yeah, yeah, I got the game. I got you know, I got it on this on the on the flat screen. I got my eye cat up.

Sometimes my boys come over and you know, so it's always fun when their team is losing and my team is winning. Nice. Before we let you go, we're halfway through the season, five and three. Where do you think this team ends up? And how far do you think they get? Well, that's a that's a that's you know, that's the that's the golden ticket right there. You don't know. Um, I think we definitely uh should have a locker on no division, so that should get us into the playoffs.

I don't think the numbers matter this year so much for us. Um of the team I forgot to mention was Frisco. You know, Jimmy g is doing this thing out there. They got an a formidable defense. You know. We That's what I said, We're gonna see what it is for me. We're gonna see what it is this Sunday against They got a solid defense. You know, the offense is clicking, and I feel like we have way too much talent to not you know, do something this season,

you know, going to the play. We can beat the Packers. We you know, we can beat the Saints like you know, even with that run that Bridgewater had, defense shut them down. Ain't scored on touchdowns, but that's on the offense. And then with the Packers, I think it was you play callings and stuff here. But we can beat all these guys. You know, I'm not even thinking about the NFC. Is who's gonna beat the Patriots? You know what we mean, if we if we get to the dance, who's gonna

you know, can Garrett out coach Belichick? And can we out physical the Patriots? That's the big question. So it's not putting the cart before the horse. We gotta get there, So I understand that. So my expectations are where we are right now is yo. We have way too much talent to not deliver this year. You know, I'm not

cool with a divisional you know, championship. We need to get the confidence championship and we need to punch somebody right in their mouth and do what we do and get to that bowl and then we can see you know, because everything is set up, you know, Jerry, Jerry, you know, mister Jones with all school respect, he's laying out the money. He's putting it out there. He's like, all right, you guys were long term. You know, Dak's gonna get his contract.

You know, Zep dun got his, everybody else got this, will get some pieces. As you can see with a Randall cop great pick up, you know, Michael Bennett, great pickup is he's putting all the pieces in place for us to have not just a super Bowl you know, uh, potential team, but for us to have a potential dynasty and new dynasty. So that's what we're looking for, because that's what we used to as Cowboys fans. We're not We're not happy with just oh yeah we want the

super Bowl. No, we want we want to take a run. We want to get double it up, triple it up, or whatever the case may be. But you know, I feel good. I think that it's a good it's a solid locker room. You know, to me, the weakest, the weakest link on the train, it's it's Jason Garrett, and you know, and and and that's just the reality. I think he's a decent human being, a nice human being. But you know, as you know, You guys, know, teams take on the personas of their coaches, you know, and

he's he's just so so easy going. So we can't play to the level of our competition where teams that we're supposed to destroy, like the Jets, we're supposed to that's supposed to be. If that was Bill Belichick would have been like a college for seventies in. That's what we have to get to, you know, how to get that dog mentality. We got to get that dog mentality going there and not make not getting our own weight, you know. And I think that we kind of right,

did we right there? Like you know, we're not getting too many penalties. We're not you know. You know, injuries is the X factor. We all know that. But that's every NFL team. So yeah, what's up Taking deep breath and go back at it. We're gonna ride as long as you want to ride. No, but I'm just saying, I'm just saying we can't make excuses anymore, you know, And you know that this our franchise is one of the most story franchises in all of sports. But you know,

especially in football. You know, people hate Cowboys fans, you know, we love our team. And my thing is, we don't have any more excuses at this point, you know what I mean, Like, and so we got all the pieces there. You know, the guys have a good synergy. You know, it's a good play calling, good scheme. What is it? We gotta go in the make it happen. So as a as a as a fellow Cowboys fan, I'm ready to see it all gel and come together. It's our time. You think you think they can make it to the

NFC Championship game this year with the talent? Absolutely absolutely. I would be disappointed if we didn't, you know, because, like I was just saying, like injuries, everybody experiences them, so that's that's the equalizer. It's like, well that's not a factor because every team is dealing with injuries. So when you go down to NFC, we could be anybody. I really feel that. And and my thing is, I'm not impressed by us just beating teams. I want to

beat teams in a formatable way. I want to, you know what I mean, like put our foot on their neck and so thank you. When we get to that dance. We're dealing with Belichick and Brave and that's the dynasty. Right, yeah, let's go. If the Giants could do it twice, why can't we? And the Giants was what was the record? Nine and seven, six in a row just to get in yeah, and then one out? Yeah. So why can't you know what I mean, why can't we were five

and three? Right now? I feel like we have a really we should beat the Visors because you know, Kirk Cousins not impressed, all respect, dude, not impressed. Really good defense. Just I feel this is the thing. It's like, this is this thing is a Cowboys family. We got too much talent for it even to be a game. I like our first three games. I like feeling like that, like this team is that we're us. We're going in do what we do. It's not I like that, you

know what I mean. I don't when we're up against it. I'll take that when it's like the same. So the Packers, okay, cool, you know, but this year there's no reason why we shouldn't go to the NFC Championship and and show out. I'm with you, man, this that's the one frustrating the biggest frustration with this team is they wait till their backs are against the wall before they go out and do something big like start this week, go beat the Vikings,

made real quick, real quick. All the respect to you, and you come from an era where you know, you guys were playing for the glory and you know, guys were starting to make some money. And it's at the other but that's where I feel like, it's just I have so much respect for you and the guys from your time because it wasn't these big you know, contracts or endorsement deals. You were playing to win. And that's what I think these young guys really need to harness.

Like at the end of the day, you're a little boy. You're somewhere and wherever, whatever part of the country. You know, your parents put you in little league football, and the goal is to win. That's that's that feeling. Is it replaceable? So I think, you know, making millions of dollars and all these things that come along with it. Um, I think it deters some guys from the end result. The

end result. It's like, you know, you want to get up in the raptors because it's one thing to win a chip, it's another thing to win multiple chips, and then it's another thing to get that jacket and there's another thing, you know what I mean, like, yeah, it's getting these guys in that frame of mind where it's just like, man, you got the money is a result of what you do.
