The following is a production of Dallas Cowboys dot Com and the Dallas Cowboys Football Club. Flowing out of the backfield's flumbing down the sideline. He's hanging with the boys, presented by wing Stuff where Flavor gets its wings. Now your hosts Nate Newton, Kurt Daniels, Jesse Holly, and Shannon Gross Surprise, it's your favorite show at the wrong day
and the wrong time. But here we are Tuesday. It's Tuesday, ten o'clock, our early You look at live at Tostito's Championship Plaza outside the Ford Center at Star in Frisco at seventy degrees in cloudy. The height it seventy six. The low tonight is sixty and there is about an eighty three percent chance of rain at one o'clock. So are they gonna have OTA's inside or outside today? I think inside because I didn't see any equipment out on the field. They're doing a walk through on the roof.
I saw that in the platform. I saw that the roof. No, how are you guys? I'm good man, you know my boss to Celsis still in there and I'm good. Oh yeah, yeah, there, bra man. It'd have been so much fun. If the MAVs can pull this off and play Boston in the finals, pull what No, No one has ever done it, having in seventy five years, that's crazy. Oh, in one forty you would think one, one team somewhere along the way
would have done it. Oh, one forty six, all the other sports have Yeah, has anybody done it in the finals come back down three? I don't think so. So the conference they've done it in the quarter right. This has never been done in basketball, never been done in basketball, never been done in basketball. And any faces and any face like down o three, No one's that. No one. Somebody did that a few years. No, the Lakers were down three one and then came Houston was down three one.
But no one's ever ripped for once you go down three. Oh, no one has ever really in any in any in any That's crazy. I thought it was just the conference finals in the final stage. No team has ever ripped. That's nuts. You said you got a bettle chance having a black president, he did have ass up, there was out one chance. I knew there was. Hell, we're not giving him that odds again. Oh man, Well we don't have Kurt today. Kurt's under the weather all week. I
can't tell you what's wrong. Hurt home having fun with his wife dog, what hes doing? Can't due to hippo. We can't tell you what's wrong with Kurt. But Kurt, Kurt's fine, He's okay, Kurt. That's what have you working on? Baby number twelve? Yea, No, I'm home, but you know she won't me gone because I'm driving a crazy Really, she baby wants you to stay well. We brought it up. OTA's starting up today tomorrow and then I think next week. I don't know. They're spread out like three different pods
or whatever. So what happens in OTAs? And how important are OTAs? When when when I played, it was just the first of many blood paths? But now what were ots like when you play? How many days were they? And were they They were last week? Three days, three to four days, But in the fourth day they'll let you go at twelve, you know, and you were y'all full pads. Yeah, but you gotta understand we started this.
Jimmy Johnson started OTAs, Yes, sir. A lot of people tell you, uh, they'll try to deny that, but Jimmy started OTAs and off uh and off season training. You know that that mandatory? When is it mandatory? He once started what does volunteer mean? Yeah? Yeah, and so yeah, Jimmy started that, man, And that's right because God's back in the day, you have to get like part time jobs. Yeah, they had jobs in the off season while playing in
the National Football League. That's insane what you're doing. I gotta go down here, become as cowboy making because now you got to share that money. Before he was just all yours, you know. Yeah, you know, players probably getting twenty five percent out of it and the rest of us just going, you know, if that much. But I'm gonna tell you, uh, start out the OTAs when I played, you know, uh, it wasn't real physical. I mean, it
was more than what it is today. I mean, you know, you were learning plays and learning the system and then integrating the new guys. But it was at a much higher temple, you know, because we we we prided ourselves on being a fast, physical, hard team and that and that's kind of how all of our practices went, whether we wanted to or not. That's how up temple was. Jess, how was it for you? No? You hit on all
the points it's it's the integration period, you know. Um, it's that moment where rookies get a chance to see what real NFL players look like. Yes, like, this is this is the moment when you when you sit around and you think you're kind of good and then that vet walk in at your position and you're like, oh, this is what the NFL. This is what the NFL
looks like. You know, you like and you start seeing dude, dude, so you're like, I've never seen a dude do that before, like just athletic wise, and then you look around and you're saying, everybody here is good, you know, because when you come from certain places. Yeah, and when you act your Alabama much. You got a bunch of good players
around that, but everybody don't go to Alabama. You know, it's gonna be an eye opening experience for a guy like jayalen Tober when you walk around you look around and saying, wait, everybody's as fast as me. Everybody's as good as me, you know, and you start the rookies figure out those little tendencies right when you start doing one on one and stuff like that, and you get jammed up and you're like, man, how do you know that? And you're like, man, look look at your feet. I
knew where you were going. He was like, no one's ever told me that before. I've never heard that before, you know, or or or I ignored it or I ignored it right, you know? Or you know Sam Williams when you think you're gonna come around that edge and Tyrens Smith lay one of those massive hands the Hotel Californias on you. You're gonna go, You're gonna go. Damn. That's that's that's real. How hard is it for a guy like you've played your whole life like you brought
this you said you've ignored it, right? Yes, How hard is it to do something your entire career high school? Because I would say, you really learn football in high school and college, right, start high school college? And how hard is it when you get to the NFL to change, to learn something new, to have a coach tell you to do something different. It's so much harder now because football at the high school and college level are different.
Like these kids when they get a playbook now most college teams you see them, you see them hold those signs up right, and it's like or one word means the entire play, right, They'll go falcon, falcon, falcon, and falcon gives you the gives the lineman there, they're they're blocking scheme, gives the receiver. In the NFL, when you
go from hearing falcon falcon your whole college career. So now you got to hear all, right, here we go eleven personnel, twins rights or trips rights, you know, uh, dual motion no no, no, no no you four sixty seven sweep back go. Now you're like, wait, wait, wait, wait, hold on, miss that. It's like say that again, yeah,
you know, should it takes moments to hear that. Or defensively when they're just like, you know in college, like Saber, Saber, Saber, and now he's like it ain't Saber no more, it's hey, hey, hey wingo right, three high low backer goal. You're like, what's who? Who? What's backer me or the other two? You start seeing things different, or you know your dB
and you cut a line of scrimmage. The next thing, you know, doct change and played three times on you, and and and and and somebody calling the formation change ke ke why no, no, no, no no, no, oh Zoe Zoe and all that stuff is is that's the hard
part to change. Is hearing a variation of how offenses were in college, which are much simpler to now that verbage that you have to deal with and at the speed of which it goes, because if you're if you're a first round guy or you're a guy projected to play, that is not going that huddle saying all right, listen, young fella, it's trips right, dual motion three sixty seven back,
go on two. That's going all right, here we go fellas true you never no no backs going too right right, figure it out, figure it out, you know, And so that part is the hard part to change. And then comes the you know, the technical part, because your mind
is going so fast. As a coach, you have to make sure is he getting the information and then is he getting the technique that we're teaching, because, like Nate said before, if the techniques you're teaching for an offensive lineman, right, Nate was Nate was showing us last week how you want to position in your hands. Well, if you've been so used to going outside in I gotta take this information down here, everything here When he changed it and then he go oh yeah, by the way, I gotta
go in his inside it. So it's that That's the part that people tall and I used to look at to receive us is when these kids finally get the play down, the defense want to be funky and change the coverage. Yeah. He this dude finally said I'm going five yards an end and they changed and he sitting out there, huh and everybody moving he started in the quarter may throw the ball out and he'd be like, I just didn't know because the coverage chang changed. That
is scary, bro. So what it happened to me is as offensive linement, the defense just shifted six inches and now the tackle gotta come down from me just blocking this guy straight up. He moved six inches outside. Now the tackle coming down, I gotta pull around and get there and kick his guy out. I'm sitting there like I just jumped outside. This is what I got and do that what we're supposed to do. And that look right there because you didn't know. I didn't know you
just jumped outside. Regroup. Yeah. Hey, well if he goes, I look again, what do I do? What are they doing? What's the most important thing for OTAs is it? Is it getting your timing down. Is it getting like camaraderie and getting to know your teammates for offensive line? For me getting to know the plays and how to block them. I gotta no matter who I'm playing next to, I got to. They should allow players know your job and only your job this first time. We'll get you more
integrated with somebody's else job. But you get in here and learn this playbook and learn what to do so we will not have to run plays over or put you on the sideline. You know, and you're not getting the reps. Learn your plays, be in your playbook and understand that it's like just said, it's gonna be moving. Dad ain't waiting, No, da ain't waiting at the other quarterback maybe stumbling through This guy used to looking at the fat ball on the cards that sum sum. Well,
it ain't suming the most. So you may want to be in there with a slow quarter back. But yeah, if you're in there with that first group or that you know, that advanced second group, this thing is humming, bro like it's humming. And to think about the veterans, they kind of have a chopping at the bits to
get back out there. So they're gonna be ready to get And that's the one thing that you don't want to do is when you start pissing veterans off, like you jumping off sides, you don't know to line up because if it's like, hey listen, bro, I ain't trying to be out here all day, I'm not. I'm trying to get this work in, get my lift in, get the hell out of here. And you got us out here doing these extra reps. Don't waste my time like that. It comes down to, don't waste my time. If you
ain't got it, move because we're going and and and and. Coaches, you get that install at nine o'clock, you may get a brief walk through and then once you go to that field, you're humming. And so when those guys who are being put into positions where you you know that third group, you know what that third group gonna be. That third group gonna be the fumbling, stumbling, bumbling group. That's gonna you don't want to be in that group,
but you know what that group is gonna be. That first group, that that Prescott group, that's gonna be the group that's that's where big big lineman gotta be, got be on this thing. You gotta be on it, man, because this officers line on the top, we just talk a lot more than what these officers the line talk today a lot more. And then that's when that time
is critical. And I told Jalen Tolbert this, I said, listen, brother, if you don't do nothing else, go find QB two, whoever QB two is, because he knows all little idiosyncrasies that they tell Dac that he might not listen to. That coback to gonna listen to it. Find him. Get every single rep after practice with him, just going over your plays. He's gonna be able to explain it to you in a much more in depth way than Dak will. Dak will help you through some things, but get with
QB two. He ain't a way to go. Make him stay here with you. Get these plays down, because you can't move at a pace that you want to move if you think about everything, if you're thinking about anything on the football field except just knowing what I got to do and go and do it. But you beat, you are beat when you're going to get veterans and QB two can use the reps. And QB two can
use the reps as well. So like, if there's anybody who's listening to our show, because we are the number one rated show most watch on YouTube, and you got young players or entering the league or have plans to go to the league, get with QB two. QB two is going to be able to tell friend three, QB three will get you killed because he don't know what the hell going on. Half the time you'll listen to QB three. QB two is the next man up, so he has a lot of information that can help you
with those reps. He needs to reps, You need the reps, and then that way and then QB two. To be honest with you, when you get ready to get through these preseason games, that's what you're gonna see a lot of You're gonna see QB two and two out of those three games. So you want to build that chemistry with him so you can get your chemistry right, your confidence right, because you're gonna see many times the number four on a live reps. So the way that I
guess practice is set up this way too. But at OTAs you for those that have never watched, you come out and you stretch and then you break off into your groups receivers, running backs, in the linemen, and you do your individual drills for what about half a practice and then the second half because it's OTA's nature trying to learn, you know. Yeah, they'll they'll break that up.
So like if it's thirty minutes, you'll do ten minute individual, then you'll do what they call half line what quarterbacks, receivers, tight ends, running backs, and then you'll come together for the other ten minutes to kind of run a certain amount of players on that on that chart with everybody you know, it's and you'll have the second third tier guys don't mimic the scout guys, and then you'll run through those plays and then you'll all come together do
team drill and team drill. So have you ever seen a guy that was really good on the field team drills, but was bad and individual stuff like you know, hitting, the hitting, the you know, like but they were they performed on the field, Yes, really, So you can have a guy that just kills just don't look good man. Yeah, but then you get out there and play and they ball out and they he's a Dallas Cowboys all time touchdown leader. Yeah really, Yeah, just wasn't good in individual stuff.
But on game day, as we'll go fine Brick Brown, Greg Jim Mauer. Hey my foot hurt, my back hurt, They go, what a once? No, No, I'm good, ain't go over there. They didn't want no parts of no parts of He didn't want no parts of individual drill because because he wasn't good or he just didn't want to any want to do it. He just didn't want to do it. But have you ever seen a guy that wasn't you say you were not good? Joking? I wasn't good at it, but I'm tall, I've seen We've
seen guy wasn't good. Yeah, or just didn't want to do it. It wasn't good. What they weren't good? It didn't look good at the one one because I'm sure do they watch film of them hitting the sleds and the and the dummies and the rolling the little the big guys rolling the ball backwards. Somebody that just didn't have good because it translates, right, if you're bad at that, you're not gonna be good. No, No, I don't know. I don't know because I've seen somebody gamers. Yeah, there's gamers, man,
and they it ain't it don't work. It don't work all the time. But you get a few like they like, man, this dude look bad, man, And all of a sudden, the lights come on. I'm gonna tell you that he's rookie year. He was not good at practice. Hess first two I'm like, wow, this this is training camp. Was like wow, I'm serious, I'm serious. When I first I'm looking at Dak like that's a good point. I'm looking at Dak for real. A and Deston was still loving him. Hey, man,
LICI threw it. You know, this is the worst thing in the world. When Romo got hurt and then Kellen got hurt, like the next day, Yeah, great season. Dak at practice he couldn't hit water if he filed. He was bad. And then he goes to the Rams game and we're like what, what's crazy? What's crazy? Is like that all like if you base his career like him getting a shot of just practicing, he probably never would have stepped foot on the field except maybe the third
preseason game for season game. But because those anywhere, because he never would have gotten on the field because he practiced, was not great, right, But for those two guys to go down in front of him. It's like, well, this is all guy. We gotta roll with this for a second. Like we were talking about Jamil Showers almost being our star quarterback, like that they were battling in training camp and Jamial Showers was winning. Yea, brother, I'm gonna take you.
It was so funny. One day I'm looking over there, I'm looking over the after practice and Jason and Jamille and all of them throwing to that bucket to the garbage camp, and I'm looking at Dak like, wow, gil Brandt leading this. That's when it comes at gil Branston, a complic of the draft. This kid, this kid is the future. I'm like, really, this the coach, the head coach. He getting it in the bucket more than he is. And then he went out and won what twelve games,
two interceptions the whole year. I'm like, wow, that's why I want to I want that Dak back. Yeah, one that don't practice well but plays great. All right, let's take our first break. When we come back, we'll talk about more football stuff on the most popular show on YouTube on the Cowboys Radio Network. This is hanging with the bar called the Man the Wrong Name. Everybody's gonna have blockchain dot com out there because that was awesome. We need to have them on the show because I don't
know what blockchain is really. They act they they their team was in last week and talk to a lot of our leadership group about crypto and what their company's all about and explain like how they operate and how they're set up. It was really really enlightening, especially if you don't know anything about crypto. It was really go download the app blockchain dot com. I think you get something free if you download the app. Yeah, well, I think that will be informative for all of our new world.
Maybe we'll get get them, get them on the show for a segment whenever we need some something to talk about. But we have plenty to talk about today because OTAs
are back into back in effect. And one oddsmaker, Kurt send us some notes even though he's not here physically, he's here in spirit, and he did a run of show for us, and he said, one Oddsmaker predicts free agent wide receiver t Y Hilton in defensive end Jason Pierre Paul will sign in Dallas, and Kurt wants to know what areas do the Cowboys still need to address
in free agency? Where would you go add talent if you could right now with Jesse talk about that because right now, the way I feel, we're gonna be hard pressed to win a game. And until I see us play three or four games, I just can't I can't see it. Man. We need help. Everyone from Steven on the twenty fourth I'm just I just want to mark this so we can play this back in August when we're doing I'm just saying we should be three and oh in the preseason. We should put everything we got
into the preseason. When we get back to our predictions again, and Nate sits over there and says, that's a win up, that's a win win for me one point one point, and they goes, we need to start by trying to win every preseason game. We start with Denver, which will practice against, start with the charges was will practice against. Yeah, all right, let's keep let's skip around a little bit. Let me let me quickly answer this question. I think
I should say this. I believe. My therapist said I should stop saying I think and I believe or I feel I can fly. I believe I believe this guy. We talk about what does OTA means, like, I think I believe during OTAs is another opportunity for you to evaluate your football team. Right, some of these draft picks, some of the free agency that you signed, some of the guys you've kind of been grooming that on your practice squad last year. Maybe some guys who were fourteen
thirteam last year. This is that moment in time where you're able to say, Okay, what do we have here, and do you see a market improvement um in those positions?
And when you get out of OTAs if that's not something that you feel comfortable, and then you started trying to trying to look into free agent wire or what veterans are left over that you can kind of bring in and help your football team because woman playing those guys, those guys are able to see it, to project things into the future, and you can look at a guy and go, he ain't gonna be he ain't quite ready
right now. You know, coaches can say, you know, especially if it's a guy who's been here, you know, a guy who's a veteran, not a rookie, not take time, but a guy who maybe have some years in the league or been on your squad for a little while. You can see early on OTA's Okay, this is a different player from last year. I like where he's going on his progress. His knowledge of what we're doing is
far greater than it was a year ago. And that way, now you can say, you know what that Ty Hilton thing, Well, maybe we don't need that Ty Hilton thing because I like the way these guys goes that JPP. You can go and say, hey, I like the way, oh Ziggy Duo is playing or whoever yours you want to say, you know as playing well, and you know he's inside, but yeah, we could keep him inside. We don't have
to go do certain things like that. So ots also help you in that in that manner of do we need to go get that veteran, how does this thing look? Do we have a catastrophic injury that may you know, well, put him out for some period of time, maybe get him back for the regular season. Um, and then you go out there and you may look for a player so so, and you know what it's about. What it's about what Sam gonna do. Because we know what Darn's gonna do. We know what the guys Ziggy gonna do.
We know basically what they're gonna do. But we know we got some maturity to do with Ziggy. But I'm telling you, if Sam coming off that end and he's pressing and he's showing great potential, that gonna that gonna that gonna stop a lot of that because uh, and we haven't talked much about the kid they signed from Atlanta. Um whose Defensen they signed from Atlanta. I just Drew
Black on his name. Yeah, he's still out there, and there's hope that he's supposed to come out here, you know, from a first round pick, high draft pick, high pedigree
that you know, play for for for for DQ in Atlanta. Yeah, there there's expectations put on him that, hey, you have to come out here now and show improof um and a lot of people are going back to the time we brought in Robert Quinn guitar heel uh and what he did in that in that one season and had eleven and a half twelve sacks and then when I
want to got paid by someone else. So they're looking at Dante Fowler in that same mold of, Hey, this is your opportunity to go out there and show the rest of the league that you still can play and you're trying to get to that other big money contract.
Look what Robert Quinn did. We want you to come in here and give us six plus sacks in this season while we're getting Sam Williams adjusted to the National Football League, and you two guys can be in a rotation and once y'all get going, then you know, move tank around a little bit, and now have that opportunity to have three four guys you can wrote and those defensive in spots to keep guys fresher for when you got to go, you know, into the fourth quarter and
try to win a football game. Because I just ain't I'm not feeling uh and know I love this dude. I always bragged on him when he was at the Giant Jason Pierre Paul. I thought they should have ever got rid of him. But man, no, it's time to you draft this doing the second round. I'm correct with Sam to me, he started, he's gonna have to show me, Okay,
he ain't. He ain't. He don't have that potential that I went out and did a personal deal with my with my defensive coordinator where he went down and then watched him and it's a personal like and and will love him. You got to show me you defensive players would get a free rein if I draft the defensive player third and up, third, third, second of first. This dude, you are starting, get your mind right. Don't hang around,
don't you don't. No, I don't want to see you hanging out with the eighth round pick who was drafted number five. C. You need to be hanging out over here learning how to play ball because you need to start. That's just how that's how it's got to go. If this dude is not playing sixty five percent of the time and that means started being in the rotation, I don't care how you do. I need to see him sixty five percent at a time, find out what he does well, and let's let him do it. Because we're
over the years. Jess have been saying a year in the year out, and I don't know if we can say it coming into this year because we don't know developmental players. The developmental players has been lacking as as a whole. So this is the time developed this guy. Yeah, I mean you went on and you did a personal workout with him. He was part of the thirty that came in. I'm not correct, I think so thirty visit guy. Come on now, that's he needs to start. Now he's
talking about Darren. Darren's armstrong and this, this and this and this and this where he'd been in how many years? And I love him, but that should pet cat? Yeah, I love him, but way back come home now, all right? You brought up while ago practicing against Denver, practicing against the Chargers. Is that good? Throw that Jesse again, because we talked about this before. We came to the same conclusion.
Tell him, Jesse, why this competition is good? But then you open yourself up for risk of injury and all that stuff. You can control a lot of that. What do you what do you think, Jeff? This is necessary? So let's go, and it's a great sign. Kudos to whoever sign Mike McCarthy, Jerry, all those guys who's signed
off on it. The only way y'all laughed at me when I said, are we trying to put pads on now because we're gonna San Francisco last year in the playoffs, and Nate like, oh, man, I'm telling you you could do it. You could do it. Ain't no way in the hell you get tough in the week. You may have some tough individuals, but oh your overall philosophy of toughness ain't happening in the week. So that's a great point.
Is this this him changing the mentality like we are going to chat every challenge, We're going to take it too. I didn't think about that. Yes, this this to me, this to me, looks like that football team that staff said we got bullied often last year. Let's set the tone in preseason, right. If we're going to change the culture, it starts today, like it and OTAs, and it starts when we get in training camp. We're gonna use those pads, We're gonna we're gonna we're gonna bow up and buck
up against some other guys. And for one differ came in here last year beat the hell out of us, beat the hell out of us. What better way to cut us to start off your your, your your your training camp, headed into your season, then going up against a team who you know is going to be physical. They're going to be a physical defense. They're going to be a physical team. They're gonna run the football and they're gonna allow play action paths to happen with Russell
Russell Wilson. Right, So that's gonna be a good football team. It's gonna be a really good matchup. I'm happy to see that Mike McCarthy, dan quinn and company saw that this team was not a physical football team. And and please don't tweet or texting me talking about well someone so is physical. One guy being physical does not make a team physical. It just doesn't happen. It just doesn't happen. You need that has to be a philosophy of mentality
from top to bottom. They have to buy in that we're going to be physical game in and game out, because if it doesn't happen that way, they fall back into the old habits. And I use a foot nine that's reference because that was a physical football team, and I give you one guy that shows it in there in how they do it. And be talking about the forty nine ers. They didn't change their name, did it. Okay,
we're talking about the forty nine ers. Deebo Samuel's not only caught the ball, rand the ball, but he wamed block folks too. That's some mentality where you can get your receiver to do all of this. That's why he wants his money, because he said the way y'all using me, I'm gonna beat up here might be why walls out. Yeah. Now, now he only wants out because he wants he trust me. No player, no skill guy in NFL history has ever ever,
ever I knew it, ever complained about getting the football. Yeah, no player, no matter how you get it right, No matter how screening, bubble screen, smoke screen, go route, slant, reverse, line me up in the backfield. There is no skilled player in NFL history. And I don't care for Michael Irvin to Randy Moll whoever, if you were telling them and eighty eight, I'm gonna lie in the backfield and gear the rock, all right, I right, coach, I could
do it. Nope. See Deebo saying that now, because he's saying, no, don't, don't. Don't pay me as a running back. Don't. I don't want twelve million. I want twenty eight like the receivers are getting. Don't give me twelve twelve is nice. Don't put RB by my name in the program. Yeah no, no no no no no no no no no no. Don't don't try to don't try to pigeonhold me. I want to thirty like the rest of them jokers. I want to be paid like him jokers being paid because
twelve fifteen ain't twenty eight thirty. And so that's why DeVos saying that now, he's trying to distance himself from that conversation till that check get cut, and then he like, and you know, I can return punch still right, you know I can I run the ball in the backfield? Right? You know you can give me a reverse? No player, no, no skill player in NFL three ever doesn't want the ball in any way, shape or form. All right, let's take our next break. When we come back, more football

We I think this is gonna be the year we take over, Like, this is the year. This is the year we finally we got a little work to do. We finally gonna take over this year. It's gonna be take over what and here's what take over what this year? Oh, I thought he said something else this year. I thought he said
this issue. No, no, no, no, no, this year. And it's gonna be great because we get to kind of do we get to have guests back this year. Yes, we can do it now, so we can have people back in the building. We'll get the row back in here. We can get the row Montel Montel. Yeah. We'll get very selective when you get computer, be very selective on which day we get him. Yeah, yeah, we get pastor Que. Pastor Que, come in here, bring yeah, bring your book pastor Q. Yeah, Mohammed, if you want to fly over
Hommed from Kuwait. That's Muhammed's might dude, Muhammad rolling the money. I need to see this pocket. You know what we should do? I go out with him one night. I should. Yeah, I ain't going out. I wanted his money. I don't want to go out. I should find out our our our top listener. The guys that call in religiously, Gee from Jersey, Gee, Eric. We don't hear from my dude from Miami in a while. Oh, Eric, Eric's leap, the
real Anthony, Anthony, my boyfriend Leap. Any of those guys that come into a game this year, we ought to bring them in studio the monday after. If the true fans will be listening right now and call me, Yeah, call him if you want to come on the show this year, because it's because this is an off time. Yeah yeah eight eight eight eight five five two two
nine seven. Don't call with any questions. Just call Chris and set your address and when you come in and just call Chris and say I'm coming in this year. I want to come on the show the day after the game to take over this show. That would be fun, all right, that'll be fun. See who calls eight five, five, two two nine seven. We got fifteen minutes. Yeah, you got fifteen minutes because I'm not picking up. You got to bring gifts, to bring donuts or something something. We'll
figure it out. We'll work it out. But we'll give you a little, short, little tour of the studio, walk you around one lap and send you any way. Well, Chris, flasher camera for you back there? Yeah, yeah, shut the people your camera back there, Chris. Yeah, Chris, the people see where you got naked. Probably put his shirt on. Head off in the break, yeah, headed off. No good scene yesterday lunch after Jesse's comments. He'll probably be seeing
her tomorrow in the break. So all right, here's a question. Okay, Kurt did some good research this year here. Yeah, yeah, he did actual year. Yeah, this week, this week today. Uh, he actually brought up Durance Armstrong, which we talked about earlier. He said that Bleacher Report said he's the best kept secret on the Cowboys roster. Do you all agree or disagree? The best kept secret? What years? When I read that, I said, Kurt, what years? Did You'd have been on
board with that two years ago? But you know, I think this is your five Chris because they just resigned him. What last year right right? Gave him a new con So maybe six? Is it that special year? You know? Sometimes that guy could have had that special year like your tar Heel did two or three years ago. Quinn fell in on the level of sacks. Got wow. Quinn came in and said, I look at these sacks and um out yeah he got him too, He got him too. Wow.
The best kept secret on that's a great question, um, because I think we all think he's good. But is he great? Special? Yeah? Is he great? And if and okay, ask you this, if he is a player by this point in their career or they are what they are, or can you do like a Robert Quinn and and have a crazy I think one. I think good players who work very hard, and I think Darians works very hard can have that special year you know. And uh that Adrian Clayborn type year. Yeah, yeah, go to the
Pro Bowl, Yeah, Adrian Claiborne type game. It was like five or six sacks and was six Yeah. Wow, that's a shame anyway, my bad. Someone called it wow. But I don't I don't know what I think Darians is who he is. I think the better players you put around him. I think he can take advantage of that. I think he's one of those guys like a six man, a seventh man coming off a bench, the more great players you have around him. But see, okay, so now you look at Doran's arm stide, where is he gonna
play in? Right right? So where is he where does he fall in this packet order? Because right now you're saying from what you said earlier on Sam, you said, give me Sam on one end, and I got Tank on the other end, right right right, high draft pick, high contract. Then they're saying, well, we brought in Dante Fouler to do some work. He first rotation gay in So then that means does Dorans fall behind him? Like like where is he falling out in the packet order?
Are they doing for? Are they doing two by two? And you're saying like he's number two on the left side, or if you're doing the packet order, you're saying Tank one, Sam two, Fouler three, Dorings four and however you look at it, he gonna be in the top four. And then okay, so then I would even say maybe he's four B because if you get real saucy with it? Do you does Michael Parson as a as a rush in, bump him right, if you're looking, if you're if you're
looking and saying, you know what on third down? And I want to get out to the quarterback. And I looked to the sideline for a guy to go in and I got number eleven, and I got number whatever number he wear, George Armstrong's wear. Who who's going to do? Dey? We're gonna throw in there. So that makes him fifth or four b in that rotation. That's why this training camp is so big. You know that ota that's great. You know, do what you do get hit when training camp.
I want to see how you line these guys up, you know, especially after the about the third or fourth day when you really get to going and then you say, okay, we threw it to win, addressing we threw it to trying this. This is what we need to do, you know, to make these guys better, to help us be better. This is gonna be a great training camp. This is gonna be a great training camp. All right. Last question, well, maybe not got a little bit, Chris say, had a
call would come in? Yeah, who called Chris Pastor Q. He wants to come Pasque was gonna call. He gotta come public he said, publicize that book. Yeah, they say come to the game this year, come on Monday. Yeah, and bring your Bible two with the book. Past I'm down with it all right, there we go. There's a snap, Shannon Brad upside that rock. Now he's gonna come at you. You came back, Pastrick, you did I did a bout football. I ain't gonna question him when it comes to the law.
I ain't question when it comes to the law. You came at past Yeah, I did. I did not not bout football. I ain't. I ain't talking spirits room. Bring that Bible so you can slap shant outside of the heady. He might he might. He might hit you with that right hand of God. Who he can. And they bless me? Where the pastor? I will be listening. We have a little revival. They'll run us out of here. Who who else wants to come on the show? Five five, two two nine seven. We don't want to talk to you.
Just call Chris and say I want to come on the show. Chris would keep a list, Anthony, where you at man? Where's air? And Anthony and Gee and Mohammed Man. I think Eric choked on some type of sauce or some goat need some sauce. Eric's He's always comes with his lunch. Men. You Paul's coming. Paul's coming back this year. I don't know how he's gonna afford it. Have y'all looked at flights lately. Don't look at wait, don't look at it. Don't look I looked at one to Scotland
seven thousand dollars. You better stay about two or three months. You better stay about two three and last year the work. Last year you could get a flight for like seven eight hundred bucks Scotland, seven thousand dollars Scottish. No, that's where Paul is. I got a free place to stay. You're gonna need it. Play seven gees flight. I ain't going I gotta I gotta get in and I can't afford it. So but you get to find like what
seven times? No one round trip flight? When I looked up with seven grand, maybe it was just in peaked time or something. But yeah, I'll tell you what. I ain't no joke, man, You you were getting it one that goes over there like three hours like, yeah, that's what you that's what you hit Concord. You didn't even realize telling you, I promise you that's what normal. And it was like coach class wasn't even first class. Tell you, man, you can't even get a drink for seven thousand dollars
and you're going coach, you can't even get a free drink? No, you got to play what two hundred dollars for a coke man PEPSI Well, scuse I'm just no, no, no, no, no, no, old school. That's what everybody called it, whether whatever, drinking, it didn't matter whatever. Yeah, that's like Washington. I'm still trying to figure out who they are, what they are, and I have to just keep saying, Washington, what are
the commandos of the Astro? What are they? Which one Washington? Commanders? Okay, commanders, commands, commands, command It's funny how they're trying to get your boy out of there, Styder getting over. Who do you a lot? They start messing with them, You start messing with them owners of money. You ain't producing what you pulled through, you produce it the owners. Yes, okay, yeah it can work.
The commanders ain't holding up day into the bargain when they come to start, you know, making that the money theyin't making, like damn all of the dance light it did no owners, didn't want no owner though that was bad enough. Do you start messing at our bottom dollar? Now that now that changes you? Could? You can? You can run rep shop all up any one and sexual harass anybody you want in that office. You mess with our bottom dollar, that changes things, all right? Question for
you guys. And I heard this on some local talk radio, and I can't get behind this. I don't think Jake Ferguson wearing number forty eight and he says he hopes to live up to the legacy of of he can't dar. Here's the problem I have. It's the wrong position. He's a tight end. Didn't wit and wear forty a that first? I felt so in training camp forty to forty nine, Chris Ken, you looked up for me play it was forty.
But I can't get behind that because if he was, if he was a fullback and he was like want to live up to his legacy, I get it, let's first of all, but I can't get behind it because he's a tight end. I could get behind it if he a tight end, he blocked, will you play on all four special teams and excel at it at a high level? And when you block people with the y'all, I know, y'all ferociousness that moose did it ferociousness? Okay, if you can do it like that, mister Ferguson, I'll
talk about you every week, almost every day. You heard it here. Yeah, I'll be like, and I will make sure that our guy that's missing do not call your name more than once a week because you would become snake bit? Did he Chris? Did he ask for that number? Or was it just like this is all we got left? We don't have any eighties? Take this? Take this forty eight I wear it. I think that's the only number
they had. Yeah, so this is probably unfair because he probably didn't ask for it, and then the media probably was like, you know who used to wear that? And then what's he gonna say? Oh? Yeah, cool, No, he said, I hope to get out, And now all of a sudden it's become a topic of conversation like he said this, Well, what's the guy supposed to say, like, how do they have any more numbers? They run out sometimes like guys don't even wear eighties. No more like receivers don't even
wear eighties number they wear teens and single digits. Now, no eighties left and you got from you could have picked. I guess you can't do this the teen numbers? Can you at a tight end though? No, you gotta do eighties numbers? Eighties or forties. Which so if you're wearing a forty and you're tight end, that's just weird. That tells me you're gonna be butt. You're gonna be booty juice. If you keep forty eight, he's gonna be he gonna be booty juice. That number is just stank. Yeah, yeah,
lookause Moose looks stank in his uniform. That move was crushed full. That's what you wanted? Yeah, right for that? Yeah, stop with the whole trying to live up the legacy of the past, Chris. We need to do some research on that. Can we go track down Bucky or Mike and get the story behind that? Did they run out of numbers? Did he ask for it? Let's go run that down. Yeah, I mean I I can do that. That's fine. You gotta have some pridy. I'm see I'm looking.
I'm thinking about numbers that we have right now, and I know there are like one, well there's one number in the eighties they're not going to give out. So um, so I think we were full of numbers right now. Eighty two, eighty two, he's not gonna give out. Yeah,
well I gave out eighty eight. Now. I think training Camp, I think, I think I think they wouldn't give a tight rule that they're not going to give out Jason, and that's held that highest team that he can for the equipment staff, he is, I guess, because that's who ultimately gives up the numbers. You know, I tell people whether you whether you we thought Jason was this, that or the other here in respect of the higher ups and everybody over there loves with so, but is his
number like like it's his number? All right, let's just we got a little time left. What are, in your opinion, the top five numbers in this franchise? Untouchable twelve Brandy White, Roger's star back. So it's that twelve eight fifty four. They gave Jail fifty four, ye yeah, but Jalen fifty four, Well they shouldn't have they shouldn't have. But I love me some Jalen Man, but this is jal Man. I'm sorry, I can't talk about you. Yeah, but I'm just saying. So, Bob,
what was Bobbly twenty Bob fifty four, seventy four? The Manster, which is fifty four him and how Roger's starback twelve? Uh, Troy Man eight? Now that next one is it's hard for me on the next one. The fifth one is like immage you got, Mike, you know, is hard for me on Tony Tony dor said that gets it for me. Tony you yes, sir, what would you go Chrish numbers not to give out? Yeah, you're five, you're my five numbers? Well, twelve obviously, Yeah, seventy four is obviously mister cowboy. Yeah,
that's two of them. I wouldn't give out. Twenty two is hard because he's all timely He's an all time lead rush later in the history and the history of the hids of never Gonna Get broken, let's be honest with it's never. Um what was that three of them? That's three three, k I guess eight eight men yep, And I mean gosh, those are probably the ones, right
They don't give it. That mean they've given out nine. Yeah, but this is your list, I know, but I'm just saying, yeah, so those are the four I wouldn't give out everybody else's free game. Really yeah, so you wouldn't do a fifth. You wouldn't do eighty eight? Well, wittn eighty two? Yeah you would do yeah? Okay, wait, can see. Here's the thing is Witten was was he was NFL Man of the Year. The only three guys in the organization that one NFL Man of the Year, and that's Stabak, Aigment,
and Witten. That's it. Yep. So you can retire that number, all right, or not give it out. I looked up the numbers. By the way, Um there was no eighties left. Um. He probably just said yes, give me forty eight and didn't even realize it was Moose and then they hey, did you know this? What do you think? Oh, I'm gonna try to live up to Yeah, yeah, I can. I can see what. I can probably predict what number he's gonna be if you really wanted me to. But I'm not trying to cut a player. Yeah, I don't
do that yet. Just get the training camp. Know who would your guy, who would you? What would your list be? It will be the first two? Everyone else said twelve seventy four twenty two M eight, M do you have a fifth? Chris didn't have a fifth lay through whitni I was for me personally. Yeah, this is your list. Stop giving out eighty eight. I stop, stop stop giving
out eighty eight. Like you've had some really good You got two Hall of famers, maybe in them the only two, maybe three, maybe maybe them the only two like them, the only two. You don't think Dad gets it? NA like everything else, like we gotta stop like I don't. And Mike loves it because Mike love that his name will always be attached to it and that his attention will always, at some way point in time trickle back down to him because he's that visible face. But can
you stop it? Because you started it right? You can? This can be hit with CD. Yeah, like stop giving out adio. But I mean if you if you drafted bad receiver in the first round, it's kind of the it's kind of your bit. Now. Maybe he gave to the two original ideas, so I'm actually just right here. Have them make the decision. Did Dad's live up to the other two. He got a bit, he got a bunch of touchdown. I would say Daz had a three
year two three, ain't gonna get it. Let me let me from when Daz came into the league, Daz was electric. Daz had a dominant two three years where he was the man was the baddest MO foul throw up, the man get it well. I mean he could take a slant to the house, a screen to the house, um, powerful jump, oh man, just everything we're talking about overall. No, not what I'm trying. But he had he had at the height of his career, he might have been just
as good or better than than. Oh he was more athletic, but a career longevity and the whole picture. Like at the Hide the Desert's career, he was better than Mike shears in if he didn't want to. He walked to the line, And when number two other eight eights walked to the line, and they look at their quarterback, I'm on the same page. I see the route and I will be there when you need me. That's a point yep,
and I'm on top of that. They was doing that in the NFC Championship game, and they was doing that in the Super Bowl. Good point, all right, and they just shut that down. All right. That's end. Man. I miss you, I miss you. Uh. Jesse's deacon Kurt. That's my boy, Kurt. That's my boy man. Thanks. We got another pastor here, real one. So you got the rid of be amen. Chris. Did anybody else called Chris? Uh? Yeah? One other guy called who uh just his name is Chris,
but he goes by Godzilla. Never heard of him. Yeah, he come. You're gonna come erected joint. All right. Thanks for keeping us on their Chris god brother Will. Thanks for keeping the live streams up. Monday is a holiday, right, Randy White. We will be here next week, next Tuesday, next week, next all right, Tuesday, next week. Tune to the People's Show ten o'clock Tuesday, Hanging with the Boys.
See you then, by bye bye. Eric been a production of Dallas Cowboys dot Com and the Dallas Cowboys Football Club
