weeks two things, and they finally listened to you. And what was ever? Let the young guys play? Yeah? Running the ball, yeah, run the ball? And when and when that don't work, run the ball some more. Yeah, I thought about Nate through that whole game, did you really? Oh yeah, the defense started it. You know, the defense started it, you know, with with with the sacks and turnovers and it because it took us still what three four series before we really really before we got into

any type groove. So you know, my hats off to the defense because I believe this here is our defense. Like I said before, we built to play from a lead. But when when when things change, you have to change. You know, we haven't been having any leads. We haven't been you know, we've basically been playing from behind. So we need our defense and our special teams came up with enough big plays the offset offense until they got

into a groove and then they returned the favor. But you know, eating up some clock, it's a defense a little more aggressive, youthing as far as going after balls, and I think they just took advantage of what was before them. You know, you would be amazed, Kurt, and I'm telling you I tept people to our time. You would be amazed that how many dropped interceptions happened in the game, how many times you missed you you don't

tackle well, and they that you missed the tackle. It's like you went up and you just let the do run through arms. You took a bad angle and just whiled on the tackle. And if you just stopped the guy, you know, instead of looking at a third and one, now we're looking at a third and five. That changes how to coordinators think, you know, are you looking at the third and nine like like my issue was and I was. You know, it's kind of hard to convey that to a lot of people that my issue is

I wanted a third and five or less. I needed it to be third and five or less. It's easy on Dak. It's easy on It's easy on our receivers because it's gonna be a quick pass. It's gonna get out fast. The receiver's got to break fast. That plays in the cold beason in Witnes's hands, you know, make a quick move, get Dak some type of window and let him throw it. Versus a third and eight, third, a third and fifteen. Now you got to hold the

ball if you go back down. First two series, we ran more than I mean, we passed more than we ran. Then we finally ran twice and it was third and six and then Dak ram for a first down and then it just sen I it took off after that. That was about the third or fourth series for us. By that time, we hadn't got an interception in the red zone and we hadn't got a sack by then, I think, you know, defensively and don't I don't remember

Zach and was Switts a big play came in. But those things helped us pull up out of a funk offensively. That was one thing I was impressive bout was the first quarter was awful yea. And they had two turnovers, they didn't do anything with They had minus three passing yards and after the first quarter because I think Dak was completed one pass for six, was sacked for nine. So it was an ugly quarter. But it was impressive

to me that they stuck with the run. They kept going and they finally the defense Switcher's return finally came back around. They didn't give up on things. Yeah, you know, yeah, what what amazes you is you know, and uh brought us and I don't know if Mick, but I know Brod. You know, this was the best team win. You know, it had a Kansas City No, this was the best team win because you would have had three ugly losses, you know, and where you were just baffled, like you

just didn't know what was going on here. You you found yourself and you ran the ball better than adequate. You You you play defense. You know, you got a big special teams played on a return team and and the coverage teams. You got big plays from Cavon, you got big play from from Will. But knocking out the fumber you got you know, you got stuff like that. That's that that that contributes to a total team win. And when you do that right there, not these guys

going into the giants. Now you give you give yourself some life because you ain't just looking for one. Oh, the offense is gonna told us those days. After this year, you can believe, you can believe it. But after this year where the guys getting experienced, I'm not gonna ride on that train no more that trained to me. You know that ship unsails. Well, everything's gonna be based off of our offense. You know, this year here should tell

you that you can't be that one dimensional. You know, you just can't let that be your your because what happened this year, whether the whether the coach don't call it or whether you can't do it, you still gotta be able to beat teams like Pittsburgh did last night. You know, Levan Bell was big in the game at times, and Antonio Brown was big in the game at times. You see where the quarterback made it plays at times. You've seen where they defense did what they had to

do at times. You you, you got to have a well rounded team. You can't we just gonna win games off we run the ball. Well, what happened when you can't run? Yep? Yeah, they run into that a few times. You lose three ugly games and by a lot of points. Yeah, so I mean you you you you can't. You know they lost Shazier last night. That's stay man, That's that's our they that's stay Sean Lee. But guess what they found a way to win, right right? What you say

at a Cheetoh uh? He played nice. You saw him compete for some balls he got, He got some ball, He batted down some balls, he made some plays on some balls he did. He did nice. He had good footwork for what I've seen, tackled nice. You know, Uh, just had a solid game. You know, now, we're hoping that he can build on it. Yeah, get better. Football Focus gave him their highest he was the highest created player to them. Really, yeah, I was surprised, but I

don't know how much merrit you're putting their stuff. But um, they at least thought he played pretty well. I mean yeah, I mean I think the passer rating against him is like thirty nine or something like that. So, you know, and only other guy that got that is Jackson last night for us, but Cincinnati who let the guy let Leon run rat pass? But that was so funny. I didn't get to watch anything. Oh man, it was so funny. Man. It was so physical tonight. I got everybody saying, oh

my god, that was so dangerous last night. I'm like, oh my god, old school football. I'm like, please, don't come around me with that, because I ain't feeling you. I am not feeling you when the game get physical and mean, Inviolet, like it is now all of a sudden, you start whining and crying. Do not come around me,

fantasy football player. So the you know a couple of shots that are really criticized were the ones kind of hit head, you know, but that man, you know what we used to call that after you get hit like that, get your head on a swivel. It's football being playing out here, and it's grown men that's banging it. Yeah, that's how we played it. And now, like I tell you, you never hit me. Criticize eyes how they play the games now, but do not criticize physicalness. Do not criticize

dudes doing their jobs. You know, Schuster gets some one game suspension when I see, uh, my man just grind up somebody what grunk just jumped drunk winds up and jumped out on the ground. Gets one game, man, please please, man, I mean he should have been suspended if that, if Schuster got suspended one game for something that was was legal, the taunting one where you stand over the man you don't know it was hurt. Now you don't stand over

the man. But then you see gronk wind up. You know group my board that was he made me laying because he rolled his hands, dropped the people's head like gron You easily just hit him, don't broke go do a drum roll. But you know, I tell people this game is dangerous and and and uh and you know after the game, Shuster say, well, maybe I should have held back a little bit. Maybe I should have been thinking not to block him as good shuster. Don't start

thinking that way, babe, No, don't wow. Get out there and hit him. Wow here, man, you was blocking. You was doing your job as a blocker, and you did not try. You did not try to hurt this guy. Shazier when he's tacking the guy and hurt his back. You think he was saying, Okay, I'm hitting this guy as hard time I hurt him and hurt myself. That's one of the things he was working on was coverage because he knew that was a

vital part of his game. Because you know as much as you know. And I keep going back to the Stillers game because that's fresh and everybody in mind, the purist who watched the game for the purness of it, like I do. Uh Bell, I mean Bell was running. I mean the second half he was, he was doing his thing. But up until the end, boy, why I received the lightning folks up that turn of yo. I mean the thing about it. Maybe why they're Man, that's what that's That is one of the things that they thought Heath was gonna bring to the game. They thought Heath, you know, with his physicalness, was gonna bring to the game. But

a lot of time when you become a starter. And that's what I try to tell people, you know. I remember Derek Hambrick took uh Emma's place and they thought, oh, derry Emma. Say Emma told me say okay, Yeah, when you was coming in here, I thought, on't loosening everything up. You're looking like a stud. Let's see what you do

They can't do that, you know, and some guys are package guys until they proved to be more and they found a package for Cavan, first and second down, possible run situations, putting them in the best situation to succeed. That's what they did for him, That's what he and he came up and he brought that thunder twice and on special teams and must teams, and you'd be successful doing that instead of set having

Putting trying to put them and they ain't gonna always work, but you're trying to put them in the best possible position to succeed. And then and that worked last week where teams are gonna look at that, you know, when they put this guy in and this game, what can we do different? You know? that's le beyond Bear plays running back. He's a slot receiver and he goes and they thought it to him. See this is scary part. That is where that's where you when you ain't got to change nothing, but just say, hey, man, go into the slot. Are you take your tight end and line him up and let him and come into the h back. Now, you ain't taking nobody off the field. But they got to bring people onto the field. So whoever they bring onto the field ain't gonna never be

good enough to defend you. That's what the Stellers got. They ain't never got to change that tight end stay the same. To receivers stay the same. Are they bringing a better receiver? So this is a defense that now I would be energized because if I'm him, I'm coaching towards my defense, you know, like like uh, like the Fighting Zimmerman's they played towards their defense, Like the Seahawks, they played towards their defense, you know, whereas I think other teams they played with like Philadelphia, played for their offense. That's you know, everything's geared for their offense.

We played towards your offense. Well, now, we should and I think that's what we did last game, is we played hand to hand offense. Defense got us going. Offense paid them back by trying to make sure they had extended drives and took care of the ball. Special teams helped us with great fields. He's the best player. The MVP of this team is Chris Jones. If anybody else get award on this team, it should be Chris Jones. He should be the defensive Player of the year. And

see you're laughing, I'm dead. Like last year, everybody talk about Dak Dak. No, it should have been Zeke. Should have been us got every award offensive, defensive too. I feel the same way about Chris Jones. He should get every award and then if if he don't get the award, then his sidekick, the kicker, the LP No, uh, when Bais get the other award, because that has been the guys this year. They're taking it one day at a time, but you know they expect him to be there. I'll

tell you what man like is bleak. As the season looks, if the defense can start clicking a little bit, you get through these next two games, you get Zeke back. I mean, you got what at the Giants at the Raiders. Neither one of those teams are in real good shape right now. Then you got Seattle at home. You get Zeke back for that game. When's he eligible to come back? It's the most is it the Monday after? Yeah, once the game has done Sunday, he can come back Monday. Yeah.

Nick told a story that I guess when Michael Irvin was suspended back in the day, he showed up at twelve on one. You know, it's like Sunday, Monday night or you know, Monday morning. It's frustrating to watch his offense go three and out, three and out, three and out and know what they were capable of last year and Zeka is a big factor.

But good gracious man, we gotta we gotta make some adjustice, you know, and see that that's been me for the last year. You better listen to me every day because that's been me for the last two or three weeks. I just don't believe that you say what you are and then get in the game and don't even resemble what you say you are. If you're a run team, you know, you run and you and and uh. I don't believe that you gotta get in a rhythm. I think you make your rhythm, and that's what our defense

did until our offense got in a rhythm. I just didn't agree that we keep saying who we are and who we are. And I hate to say this in a negative way, but we're saying who we are. But but since Zeke left, we ain't been that if we that, you know, I hear Kurt say, well, you know, so I just said just averaging four point this on first down, and I had the other kids smith of averaging four point this on first down. But I'm like, okay, well

what about second down? What you know? Yeah, so I believe if you all that on first down and we're trying to protect our defense and we're trying to make sure we're in the right position while we don't run on second down, Yes, so I believe this here. I'd rather be thirty five in third and eight thirty ten, because that's what we've been. If you go back and watch the game, that's what we've been. And so the first time we had a good position was we was

thirty six. That's the best we got, and I think that was the third and and dak turkoff and ran and after that we took off. But up until that point, I had been preaching we're not a team that's been playing in with the lead. So our defense had to adjust. They made the adjustment. They got to turnover, they got to turnover with with with Heath and no, don't get me wrong, it was a red zone turnover. So he

didn't get past the twenty. So it's just like a kickoff all punt that was, that's been down deep touchback, that's a punt. Well, that right there kept them from scoring because if they would have scored, then the momentum is a different way. Momentiums different. So now we we didn't do much with that. Okay, we gave it up again, but our defense got it back, well, our special teams got it back again. So now we get this first down and then we started rolling. But I tell people,

don't preach if you don't believe. Now, I thank you for your commentary right there. That's some of the most honest I've heard, you know, coming from some of the shows I listened to. I love my boys. Man, I just hate when I hear that that that middle of the role conversation. I concur with what you're saying wholeheartedly. Man, you're gonna be something big if you gotta just be something different, do what it takes to win. Don't don't have an identity or not commit to having that identity.

And but I didn't see six sacks from one guy. I didn't see that and I and I believe at that second sack and they spread it when they hit him and you know when they hit him, you know they hit him. It wasn't a sack, but they hit him as he was trying to throw the ball. I'm like, oh, we

even they cared. This is we gonna hear from him no more? And we hear it fromm again and yeah and again. You know, so that right there was a normally is I don't know if I'm even pronouncing that right, But that wasn't right. That was outside the box. That was crazy. Yeah, and taking I don't know even the time time out to get right on the left tackle, but I see where now he's Prescott had to scramble for twelve yards, two yards, ten yards, all right in the row, and he was yeah, he was thoo man.

And the guys see, why didn't he call the time out? Bro who there was fifty three seconds left at that point, and yeah, he's trying to save him out. The game was turned around right now. I don't know if the game was turned around, but I I tell people, you do not want want to see your young quarterback under that type fire. No, I don't care who you. You don't want to see a veteran under that type fire. But most veterans were handed that situation a little bit different.

And you know, yeah yeah. On the NFL network, Eli Manning expected to start versus the Cowboys. So I was gonna ask, y'all, did they show the tv UM Cowboys Redskins game? Did they show the guy throw up on the field? Well, I didn't see it. Yeah, I never saw one of the Washington players threw up. They had to bring a little scoop bucket out on the field. Have you ever seen anybody puke in the middle of

the game, Nate, Yeah, I've seen you guys throw up. Man. Yeah, but I think this guy was throwing up because he got hit, right, I don't know what it was. Remember, I've seen because some guys I've seen get hit so hard and uh and uh spelled up around the head and they have a slight concussion, don't know it and they just let it go. Yeah, because I mean, I'm gonna tell you, man, this is what people don't understand.

When you get knocked out, and you get knocked out hard enough to get and you go to sleep and your body just let loose all fluids. Zeke's contract right now being what it is before you have to pay Dak and millions, this might be the time to try to do something a little bit of splash year. Yeah, well, you think, Nate,

what I think they keep? Can you see them going and getting a big name free agent in the off season or a couple of free agents, or you think they just keep drafting and paying the guys minimum and trying to develop them.
