The following is a production of Dallas Cowboys dot Com and the Dallas Cowboys Football Club. Flowing out of the backfields, flowing down the sideline. He's hanging with the Boys, broadcasting live from Dallas Cowboys World Headquarters at the Star in Frisco. Now your host, Nate Newton, Kurt Daniels, and Shannon Gross. Thursday. But it is our Friday. Yes, so I guess it's kind of fan phone fun Friday on Thursday. Sure, And I don't know if we can top yesterday's show or not.

Never know, that was one for the ages, but we're sure as hell gonna try today. That thing went radio viral. It did. Kurt's now a drop on our partnership. Our partners say one oh five, three of the fans. Yes, yeah, I want to hear it. It's great. Let's not got to come in there and listen to that after them. Oh you you ain't can make that happen. Yeah. Heading into the bye week, not a whole lot of football for us going on. No, No, but what are you gonna do, Kurt? Bye week? Let's just jump into bye

week plans? What are we doing? Hands? I Actually we'll be working some we have a deadline, and what the wait when you say you don't have a magazine anymore, what the hell you go? You know, I do have some work to do, all right, So I'll be got that. Got to take care of that, and then uh, just family stuff pretty much. I may watch a little football, but not not going anywhere, just doing the thing around

the hell hanging out. What you're doing, Nate, I'm watching me some football, man, because the Saints got who did plan Minnesota? Pull that mic over me? Yeah? The Saints and Saints in Minnesota. It's some championship rematch, yeah, man, and Kurt if you can, man, let's put up the NFCA teams and their records, because brother, we can either game a lose ground real we can go two games down, yeah, just about being off or a game behind yeah back yeah so uh man uh and then it ain't no

good college football this week. I don't think no, you know, I think Texas is playing somebody. I think it is Oklahoma State. Yeah, I think that's true. I think that's true. Yeah. There. So Michigan thump what's it called in for? Due beat Ohio State last week? So who are playing Ohio State? And to get beat to death. Oh yeah, if it ain't a bye week, come back with a vengeance. What you got over there for? Records? Kirt? What about you?

What are you doing about? Oh? I don't know yet. No, no doubt that he's recovering from Paul's I actually still am, but I don't know what I'm gonna do. I'm just a NonStop party for you. Not really. You make me sound so much more exciting than I really am. I thought about a friend of mine has seasoned tickets to the Chiefs game. Her family has a suite, and she wanted me to come up and hang out. But I, why is it always she? Because I have a lot

of friends that are female. I just just asked the question. Run. Because I'm such a great person, people like hanging out with me and putting me in the friends one immediate. So I have a lot of female friends. So I thought about doing that because they're playing the Broncos, which she huh? Which she? You know? You see, you have a friend that she you didn't give us an actually, Caitlin Nichols that used to work here. She used to

be Kelly's assistant for the cheerleaders. That's how we became friends and we were wound up being roommates for like two years, I think. So. She's one of my best friends and they had a couple of extra tickets and she invited me up there playing the Broncos, and I really would love to go do that tailgate scene up there here it's amazing, Casey and then for the Broncos.

Different reasons, Casey awesome, Uh Wisconsin, green Bay awesome. They're kind of different, but they they do it big brother, and they do it right and there they are so friendly with it. Yes, sir, I kind of want to do it, but at the same time, it's like my one weekend off away from football. Do I really want to go to a stadium and then have to watch football and then take you ain't got just do the

tailgating dun leave. Yeah, man, I'm telling numbers. Two impressive places and in the in the in the noise at Green Bay. Can't get with them on the noise, but the noise that that they rival any college. Arrowhead, yes, Arrowhead would rival any college. Brother, It's it's open door and they're think they're Seattle and New Orleans are probably the loudest stadiums i've ever been in because I went to we played Casey six or seven years ago. There's six or seven because I think we're due to play

them next year or the year after years. Loud. The old Home was pretty loud too. Yeah, so that was loud. So what I loved about it is when the Jets fly over our head, you know, and to be saying the things at home or the Braids, they say at home or the Chiefs. When that Chiefs come out man on the horse, No, he said, they say home of the Braids, they say cheese and boy your hearts. See you're talking me into going now, Yeah, I'm done. After that, After the Jets fly over, they say at Home of

the Chiefs, gold and go home. We saw the best of what y'all got off. I watch the rest of the home. That team would be fun to watch the person I don't know. I don't know. I'm gonna decide. I got if you can get a sweet, let me tell you something what and I I'm putting the broadest I keep cutting y'all off. I'm sorry, that's we used to it. This should be hanging with Nate Newton. No, No, I should be hanging with never matter. Brother, I wish you had a sideline pass. If you want to see

sheer speed, watch this game this week. Those guys, man, you will see nothing like it. You will see nothing like it, I'm telling you, man, when you see a team of that nature that is so much quicker along with just raw speed than the other team. Cowboys, And I'm not being funny. Cowboys cannot add up to what these cats do. I'm talking about. But in the first ten yards, natal take them. Yeah, But the twenty thirty years ago out of rival, I don't think I could

take these guys, I'm telling you. Did you see a couple of weeks ago where Terrey Hill did a crossing out across the field and he and the kid let it go and just all of a sudden, man, it's like they tied it up against the Patriots. Yeah, he took off and I'm talking about the safety had It wasn't like the safety was standing still, Bro, he was already running. Yeah. You know how guys be running and they try to time me where they can wind out and catch it. He had already wind out, wind out.

I might have time last year. That might actually be what I do this weekend. And then and then they, and then they and then the running back when me caught the certified yarder. You don't see that, man, you don't see that way. And they even they tightened in fans. Even it's once in a lifetime and the last time I've seen that type of speed. And I don't know if these guys were faster. Was the greatest show on

turf for the Rams back in the day. I don't know if them guys were faster, but well, I don't know, I don't I don't see, I don't know. Uh Cup is his name? Bang up? He's banged up? But is it the play design? Because is it what McVeigh does for his designing plays? That that I heard? A guy said, it's so perfect, he said. The bunch receivers has always been around, the multiple receivers, whether they bunch, whether they staggered,

they have always been around. But what McVeigh is doing, and what coach uh, the coach for the Kansas City Chiefs is doing, is he explode them into open spaces, you know, and and it's kind of it ain't hard to grasp. It's like open space and all of a sudden, he there, you know what I'm saying it's wow, man, Shannon, I will go see that game, and I would try to get down on the all right, I'm gonna look at I'm gonna look at flights, see last minute. All right,

I'm gonna look Vincent and Virginia. What's up? Go out? I don't hang over the boys. How y'all doing this even good? I'm doing good? Um. I want to say, I like the I like to move with um. What mister Cooper. The only thing that had me a look concerned was to drop um. But I think he might get picked that up. But I want y'all to talk about if mister Jones really wanted to do something this year, do you think he should go get mister Peterson from the cartinal and see what we can do with that.

Hang up and listen. That's a great question, man. And I whenever I saw that the other day that he wanted to be dealt, I kind of I kind of, uh, thanks for the call, Vincent. I kind of thought, hey, hey, but then I think you're good on defense. Now I think didn't he come back again and say you didn't want to be dealt or something? Oh? Man? He had a big, long letter vision of kind of apologizing. Yeah, yeah, that he don't you know that he want to be

a cargnal for life. I'm gonna tell you something, man, that winning is so hard in the NFL. You know, because there's certain ways that you know, it's certain ways that you win. It's certain ways you know that teams win. You know, can City is different from New England. New England's different than than New Orleans. But if you ain't one of them teams winning, man, it can grind on the player, specially a player that's a superstar player and he he he can't go to another level when you

are a superstar player. You you know, like me, I was a grunt. I was a grunt. So making a Cowboys going to a Pro Bowl, being all Pro Oh man, you know from free agent to this, well you first round pick, top of the line pick. You know, I've been named the best at your position in several places. You want to go bigger places, and those bigger places, even though I think he's probably did he play the Super Bowl or get close to one? He want to

be there every year, yeah, every year. And then when when he see the team rebuilding, you can say what you want but your record and the personnel around you tell you where you at and what your situation is. Yeah, but I agree with you. I don't think they should. I mean, they've got a good young secondary right now. Why I give up the assets too? You know you're not gonna give up. Yeah, I think if you can't

give up enough, man, Yeah, we don't have enough. And I think you know, at the beginning of the year, you were hearing all the Earl Thomas talk and then when this was on the on the table, what rumors two or three weeks ago, probably two weeks ago when the rumors started, I kind of thought, like, you know, yeah, he makes you better, but does he probably makes you better, but does he make you that much better? Is he

the missing piece? And now, especially after they went out and made this move on offense, I think I think they're good on defense. If they do any more movement, I would think that they would do it on the offensive side of the ball. So what do you think you think they're good defensive? Yeah? Yeah, they've got some good young corner. I mean Byron Jones is playing better just as good, if not better than he is. And

you gotta get this young guys who's you. You wanted him to keep developing, Let him play, just in the words of Nate, let him play. Are you good defensively Nate? With this team? Nah? Man uh, I believe this right head as good as those guys are playing. Yeah, you know that's once in a lifetime stood true. True. This is my issue. I am so tired of losing. When when coach Garrett took this team over. This is what

I told everybody that would listen. I see now we're gonna build a team that if week I'll tell you, if we could go to a three years in a row winning ten games, that would be that would be the greatest thing in the world. Because if that is when you can add a piece, take away a piece,

or splurge and don't look back. But when you eight and eight, nine to seven, seven and nine, maybe thirteen and whatever, ten and whatever, then you go back to eight and eight, you ain't billing that, you ain't sustaining that, and most of all, you wasting contracts. You're wasting because you Okay, this guy here, he's almost there, Okay, let's pay him. And all of a sudden, he was that guy he's been for three years and he'd be like,

oh my god, I've just given it. And then a guy abroughtly retires, a guy abruptly goes away, and all of a sudden, now you got four or five contracts where you're trying to pay off of. Now you go to the draft like we are doing. We're trying to go through the draft. And you, when you are of Dallas Cowboys, the New York Yankees, or whoever else that is an iconic franchise, losing is one thing, and being

bored and losing is another thing. I'm I'm being honest, so and wow, and we gave up the first round for this kid, Cooper. And if you're a Dallas Cowboys fan, you got to be sitting on your hands saying, this guy got to be right, you know, for today, for tomorrow, and for the fusilla future. He's got to be right, because if we don't hit right, you have just you have just messed up your franchise for another two years.

Because now we got to go out and still draft the wide receiver, maybe in the first or second round, and waited on him. Go back to the phone, James in New York City, what's up, James, what's going on board ticks taking the call. Amen to you, Nate, when you said about the winning thing, you know, I want to talk about the mark too, But you talk about like the Yankees, no thing. You thought the Yankees would have lost a hundred games this year after they want

a hundred. The Pangs don't care. It's all about winning. That one thing when you said right just a minute ago was spot on, and I'm glad you had that take on the Cowboys being relevant about that. As far as the Amari Cooper trade, I'm with you, Shannon. I liked the trade. I think it was the move, but I'm not giving up a first round pick for this guy.

And this is why I feel, at least from your guy's camps and the other shows, like you know, like brought Us and those guys, we're already defending the trade before this guy's even stepped on the field, and we're kind of hoping that he's gonna be the player eybody thought he would be coming at an Alabama. But I also feel that we're being a little cavalier as far as these draft picks, because you just gave up a

draft pick, and that was Layton Vandules. If Layton Vanders wasn't on this team, I think would be in a lot of trouble. Correct next year, I'm gonna get that guy, you know. And I just feel that we're just too like, oh to you know, fifteen sixteen pick. You know, there's no receiver. We don't know who's gonna be. These draft boards changed by the minute as soon as that draft

rolls around, especially after the Senior Bowl. So I just feel that, you know, we're a little too cavalier about this, and I think, you know, we have to be CONSTI of the optimistic because we've seen a blown on our face twice with Galloway and or Williams. Oh hey man, I'm going nowhere, man, that's talk. Sure. Other guys was twenty nine and thirty, this gout twenty four, injured two years ago, new coach this year. That's cleaning house now.

I'm kind of with Shannon too, but I'm taking a different approaches that let's get this guy a chance to prove that he ain't worth the pick two. Well, I agree with that, Nate, But can I answer a quick question though, I mean, went you mentioned mcday before, right, couple of those guys if you took easily. And I think you took Gallop and you took that couple. Let's say, wasn't you swapped teams. I'm telling you're gonna get the

same production out of Beasley. Then you know, Beasley and Gallipol had to give them the same throw close to it on the rams because of the scheme. It's a scheme thing. That's why we lost on Sunday against the Redskins because they don't play action, they don't want you know, they weren't doing the things that mean him successfulgainst Jacksonville. And to me, until we fix that, I was like, Cooper, I think it's gonna be real hit and miss. And

that's where I think the struggles are. Oh man, Yeah, Now we've had a couple of people that within our dot com think it's the same thing that you have Amara Cooper. Now that's that's gonna bring him in here.

And in three weeks you only have ten or ten or twelve targets in three weeks, and you'd be like, wow, really, you know you got you got to throw this kid the ball, and you got to get in the ball which ever creative where you can or either conventional, it don't matter I wish you're on the same page for us that right there, But uh, you know, Gil Brand, guys of that ILK have you know who who Scott juniors and seniors, and they kind of got an ideal

where these guys going. Now. I do not discount a player growing from his junior year the senior We've all seen where a player was on the radar and all of a sudden he his senior years. You're like, oh my god. Yeah, you know, because I hadn't heard and Thompson for the Saints until he got to the Saints. And now it's like, oh my god, where did this kid go from? And the closer gets to the combine, the more stock slides and goes up and down. That

was a great, very very great A good call. Man. Yeah, man, you your thing is ruck. What he made a statement like I like to pick, but I do. I like the trade. I just show me, show me like this stork. Yeah, and you draft a receiver next year, you're gonna he's gonna have to show you too. I like the fact that we've got this year's number one. Now look at kurr K. What you gotta say to that said, I mean, I don't like I said, I don't disagree, and you know you hear it, You hear it. A lot just

needs a change of scenery. He just needs but faith, Yeah, you need. And I if you if you think about it, and you just said it, Nate, He's got a coach that's blowing up the team that they've pretty much told their fans, Hey, we're giving up on this season. Yes, I've got a ten year contract. I'm building this team like I wanted. This guy's gone, this guy's gone, whose who? Who knows who else is gonna be gone before the

end of the trade deadline. So I usually I say, if a team's getting rid of him, or you picked up a free agent off the street in week two or three of free agency, there's a reason why they're out there. I think this is a different situation. I think he's he's a product of the team getting blown up.

Oakland saw an opportunity to basically it sounds like a bidden war a third first rounder, yeah, and get a third first rounder yeah, Which if i'm them, I'm all in because I'm blowing this thing up anyway, and I don't know if my quarterback's gonna be there. Who's gonna be around this guy. So I like the situation. I like the situation he's coming from, and that gives me hope that that's why we were able to get him. And he's just had a down year last year. Now.

The one thing I did hear from brought us this morning. He was on he was on the fan talking. He said he watched pretty much every ball that he's been thrown over the last two years, and when he drops the ball almost every time, it's because he's taking off and he's being aggressive and he's running before he catches the ball. It's not like they're hitting him in the hands and they're bouncing off. He's he's trying to get north and south and go right. So he's an aggressive receiver.

So that gives me a little bit of hope that, hey, he doesn't have catching problems. He's being aggressive. So I I still like it. Give me three more weeks and I'll tell you if I love it. Yeah, you know, man, I can. And you know I don't have a rebuttal for either one of you. Guys. Man, it's just we have to we have to be successful. We have to be successful with this with with this trade. If we're not successful with this trade, man, I we we we

we've kind of messed this thing up bad. If yeah serious, if it's out of if it doesn't work out, yeah, you're you're right. I mean you you either gonna you either saying a lot about the program that's in place, are you are your draft sequenced with them been messed up? Because full time before it's gonna be a whole night then passed where you get a second shot, and that's the second round and having a chance of getting a player that can be productive for this team and our

second round picks. We ain't been drafting guys that just you know, fall to us. Besides Williams, everybody that's kind of an injured h this that another wrong with him and you know, well, I think Nicks a break he is. We're gonna go to break tie hanging there. We'll be back later on in the show. We're gonna talk about what Nate used to do on the bye week. We'll get to a probably a Blake Jarwin interview and Mama Gross later on the show. We need to be known as the show that all all mamas listen to. Ah, I know ours is the only one that says, you know, exploding and flowing and things like that. I think Douglas is slipping stuff in on us. I think Douglas has been slipping stuff in on us for like a year and a half now. He's just been

more vocal about it lately. True, all right, let's go to the phones again. Ty Las Vegas what's up ty? Hey, Good morning everybody. How are you doing good? I'm all right, I'm all right. I got a question. Yeah, it don't matter to me. I'm a well a cowboy Jersey to the Raid of Game, I represented twenty four seven. But I'm sitting up here trying to think about what is the difference between what's going on with DAC now and previously. I honestly believe that Marty Cooper can be a benefit

to this, to this offense. But I'm wondering what's going on and I don't know, maybe you guys can elaborate on this. What's going on in the quarterbacks room? I mean, we got Kellen Moore training, this guy Cooper rushing there and White is it there? And when he first came into the league, he had Mark Sanchez, he had Tony Romo in and I was just wondering, is this good way Wilson. I just wondered, this a good a good thing for him, because I've seen this guy and he

can make he can make the growth. And I think his problem is this reckon nois and what he needs to do an understanding, you know, what he has to do. And I'm just like, is this good for him, and I'll take your answer off there. Don't get it. Don't get off the phone, because I want to I have a I have a Raiders or a Las Vegas fan question. We'll address your question first, but hang on, what what do you think about that? Nate? To me, there's I just Wade Wilson. I prefer a veteran guy like Waye

Wilson in there, and maybe coaches in there. Coach Lenahan is in their boarder than we think. But I just I wanted a veteran presence in the room for him. Yeah, and I've never been in the quarterbacks room, so I don't know what these guys mean to him, you know, the guys that are presently there. But I know Waye Wilson and played in the league that had great success

in the league. Can kind of know what you're coming up coming off the field when you've had a bad pass, a great pass, and how you know what are you looking at? I mean, I don't know, I don't know, but uh, you know, it seems like these guys are, like you said, they don't have the experience to kind of give him the insights that I think he's going to need. To get to that next level, to carry to carry us to where we want to be. It's just I mean, he's the oldest guy in the room.

I guess, you know, you want to think about it, Kellen Moore is only twenty nine. I mean we've talked about that earlier in the year that I do think a guy like Mark Sanchez really helped him and that that may be missing a veteran president. Yeah. You see, you don't want to try to overplay because there's certain guys that coach have never played in the league, So

you know, you don't want to overplay it. But you know, I don't think it hurts when you do have a veteran and you know what, I really wish that you could put your finger on that's the problem. But there's so many things that have changed with this this team. You know, there's that's that's different. Your offensive lines not protecting like you know they probably should are have in the past. You've got a whole new crew wide receivers. There's so many different things. You got a new offensive

line coach that's changed some technique stuff. So there's so many different pieces of that puzzle. I wish I wish tie that you could say, Hey, here's what the problem is. You don't have a veteran guy in the in the room, in the quarterbacks room. But you ever seen the movie to Accountant? Yes, good movie? Well yeah I get it. I just my thing is I just uh time, and it's critical that he gets some understanding. And I was

just like, man, he got these young guys around. He has more starting experience than Kelly Moore, and I'm just you know, I'm like, what is going on? What is going on? Because it's he's the Keymari Cooper is going to be irrelevant, the running game is gonna be ready. He is the key to to to the whole thing, time it all together. Yeah, he's the one that got

to bring that offense together, you know, audibles. I don't know, but it just seems like if he was, if he just had like a difference, like you said, a veteran presence in there, just to you know, to broaden his his his his understanding, I just don't think he's getting it. He's he's not. He's not seeing it. You know, I'm looking at him. I'm like, throw the ball, throw the ball, get rid of the ball. Play It's so easy to

It's so easy to see those throws on TV. I'm telling you, when you when you're on that field, it's a lot different. But I get what you're saying. So I got a question for you. I got I got a question for you that's not Cowboy related, but more Las Vegas and the Raiders coming there. What's the sentiment of the city. Are they welcoming this move? Are they excited about the Raiders? Are they gonna adopt the Raiders?

Or are they just kind of like, ah, well, it's football, but kind of like you, I'll go to the games, but I'm still gonna cheer for my team. How is it there? It doesn't matter to me because, like I said, I'm a Cowboy. I'm like, I don't care who they bring you here. I'm still gonna represent the Cowboys. Um. But as far as there was a major excitement about the about the Raiders coming here, everybody is extremely excited

that Raiders are gonna do well here. The Raiders are going to do well here, and I can't wait to the Cowboys so him, I hopefully the first one to me too. Man, I will be there. I might want to take advantage of looking at this stadium. Thanks to appreciate the call man. Good insight there. I got a question for you, Nate going into the bye week? What did Nate Newton? So when you came in, Kirk gave me a good little stat Can we get some stat music? Man?

Can I ask you about the accounting? First? Yes? Yes, yes, great? Much about the count You sat here and made me think about the accounting. Y'all saw when it first came on, he had a puzzle, he was putting it together, and then he had that one last piece. Remember he just went crazy and the girl handing him that one last piece, well, you would hope that Maury Cooper was just saying, it just makes everybody else better, the whole receiving. You know what,

what the hell has been wrong with you? The last three weeks? You spent more wisdom on this show and more deep thoughts than you have the previous half. I'm so I'm losing, y'all. Ain't mad? Man? I mean me and my wife sitting there kind because she added to and we sit there and we kind of look at

each other, and sooner we ain't ain't mad. I'm not gonna get but losing doesn't make you reach way back in your in your brain and come up with the mule counting, like all these all these things that what was the other one you on the autobi Yeah, all these I'm proud of you, Nate, You've developed a lot on this show. Was that little green guy on the Flintstones? Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, your great Kazoo? Didn't he call him to kazoo the first time? Okay? What did you

do on the byeway? Kirk gave me this stat When you started there was no bye week by week, and then in ninety three there were two bye weeks. Yes, how how was that? Uh? Coach will give us we would have to come into uh like Friday. I think they're off after the day, right, yeah, look it up, but we'll have to come in Friday and spend a half a day. And I mean he wouldn't even be we will be practicing, but he wouldn't even be going

crazy about practice. You know, it'll be more of so that when we got out of practice, it was around twelve thirty one o'clock. So if you had a flight, you want to you know, you want you want to catch that flight before three o'clock or three thirty because you wanted to be where you know, if New York, you know our heads, you want to always be landing around seven or eight o'clock so you can get into the party scene. You don't want to be catch eight

o'clock flight, right, So everybody spread into the outport. And that's what he That's what he did. So we had to be back Monday, so we didn't have them about half a day Friday, half of that on the plane. Now you get to your destination wherever you at, and you you don't really get the chance to relax because you ain't got the sarity Sunday you coming back because if you miss his meetings? Are you late to his meetings? Man, the fine could be So you're not flying in that morning.

No are coming back Sunday. That's what I'm saying. Half of a state in time. You know, we had to bring the party. Huh. That's how the house was. What's that if you ever got out of town? What was the coolest spot or cool I never went, man, because I was always a guy that had weight problems, So I never I never. I never really went you know, I went anywhere. If I did, it probably be at that time I was married at these other young ladies. So I would go down to her hometown down by

Platinum Parish and all that. So was it crowned upon when guys left? No, No, the media one like it is now and so uh unless a guy come back bright. Yeah, man, I went Sue to such a place, this, this, this, you know, and uh and the media didn't have to hunt you down or nothing because basically a lot of these guys we hung out with, a lot of these

guys hung away way homes. Yeah. So I mean it was kind of you know, you don't tell, I don't tell what it having weight problems have to do with just uncomfortable flying or well, I don't know why you wouldn't go on vacation problem out, I would work out because in ninety three when we first started these things, when they first started, right, uh, man, I was. I was about being in shape then because I was going

to Pro Bowls. Was when the Super Bowls? You want you didn't want to be that that reason why you know, you messed up a game or something. So I was a lot more conscious Nate later when you when you four or fifteen, was not doing the seasons. Another three

cases of beer over a weekend. I was not four or fifteen during the season, Shannon, Like, so you went for what was you like that first ye Like you when you first came into the league, you didn't have a buy so that when you finally had to buy that first year with that, like heaven you got a break? Or was it? Did you want to keep rolling er? You know, if you were winning at that time where you had to buys, you want to keep rolling? You

mean you guys that was like eight nine. Yeah, But our thing was we always had a built in buying. It was called Thanksgiving game, So we always had a built in by kind of you know, we had you know, four or five days. I think coach Landel was a

little more lenient than coach Johnson. But coaches coaches don't trust players, you know, you know, no, not really, no, No, I wouldn't see you know, what's a mayor and I know we're talking about buys, but you know what's amazing and Coach Johnson broke it down to us simply say, father, let me tell y'all something. There's gonna be a bunch of y'all come through here and ain't gonna ever be thought over again. He's saying, at one time in life where you can make a difference and you can be

thought of and be remembered. Is you got six months out of each year to be that, To be the team. He didn't say, guy, he said, be the team. He say, and just think, if you win a super Bowl and you're good on that super Bowl team, you'll always be remembered, you know. And it may not be a whole bunch of people. You may not can't make a whole lot of money, but you can always be invited and you're gonna always be a part of something. You always make a live bit of money. All of that if you

do it right. He said, I wish you guy, Do you want to be just a guy who passed through the league and you got to tell everybody you played a guy that passed through the league and everybody knew you. Yeah. I'm gonna give you guys a choice right now. We can save the Blake Jarwin interview until next week. I save it the next week, man, because because they have a ton of things to talking about. Yeah, because we got it, because Kurt, Kurt got to defend himself. No, yeah, yeah,

we can get into that in the final seven. That'll be we'll just call it the Mama's segment now, not the Mama Sam Gross. He went off from he's talking about Jarwin Jarring. He went off, Yeah, so you gotta defend himself, y'all. We got in Trump as a team. He got a trump, he went, he went, he went renegade on this. Yeah, I'm gonna set it up just so Blake Jarwin and I know what Kurt was trying to do. Yeah, we'll play what his heart defend myself.

So when we play the interview, we'll play it next week. So yeah, we'll probably maybe play it on Monday. Yeah, but poor old Kurt, so Blake Jarwin's just the most unassuming guy. He's just kind of a happy, go lucky tall from being a tackle to yes, goofy, kind of goofy guy. Yeah, we're all having fun. And you know, we don't ask the hardcore questions on this show when we get players because we we just want to have

fun and get let you get the normous people. And Kurt goes right at the man's jugging pretty much asking why man he took And I just told him in the locker room, Hey, we don't even talk much football, and poor old Kurt was trying to what he was trying to do is what like he was trying to deliver Nate's point that he always makes that he thinks he's snake bit. In other words, he thinks he just has bad luck. Like he's in the right place at the right time, he does the right things, he's making

all the right plays, he just can't finish. Something happens along the way that a lot of times it might not be his fault, but he's just got bad luck. And the way that Kurt traffic if it was bad luck at all, and Kurt just and then he looked at us and me and Nate just laid out on. We're like, like yesterday we got quiet, got real. I don't know what you guys do with that man. We don't either. We don't either. I have to get into that. When we played Jarwin interview, all right, we'll let you defend.

I just had wanted to do. I don't really have anything to defend, but it was awesome. It was so good worked out. So we talk go back to the bye week talk. Would you rather Nat as a player have the bye week about this time of year or would you rather have it later in the middle of the year. Yeah, how come because you know you like now they get a chance to regroup. They they three and four? You know, uh, they get a chance to regroup. You know, coaches get a chance to really with along

with Scott's really look at your team. You got you played seven games, you got nine more. You our team have to go all in now or who they trying to be because you can't come out of this buy and lose again and B and B three and five? That that that's ugly. And now your players are see right now, players are just got a funny feeling. You you gonna out and lose that fifth game. They're gonna

have that funny feeling. It's gonna be like now you you're trying to preach something that ain't been been You're trying to preach a successful scheme or successful program, and it ain't happening. Does the bye week give the coaches a chance to evaluate? Okay, this is the way we played the first seven games. It's this, these parts of our game are not working. Let's readjust because we got two weeks. More specific than that, you know who your team is, you know your players, You know them now,

it's like, why are we losing on the road? That question has to be asked. If that if you just ignoring that question saying, okay, we just got this problem here. You know is in number one, you got to ask yourself once you get past you as a you gotta ask yourself, do we have the players? It takes a different player to go on that role and win. It takes a supreme confidence going that role to say, hey, man,

I can take yours. You know what if at this point you realize you don't have the players, then you just keep rolling. You you you you start selling, you start you start the hype game. You just don't there to come down and hope they buy into the hype. If you can get them to buy into the hype just one or two times and you continue to win it on then you you know, you're nine and seven and hold and pray to god the Eagles don't catch fire because that's the team with the talent. Yeah, you know,

we can talk about how well the Redskins is. The Redskins are playing what the Dallas Cowboys normally play. They playing how we normally play, you know, good solid run game, timely passing and good defense, solid defense. They're playing the Giants this weekend, so they might get a full two games up on that. Is that going to be? Uh man, That's what Shannam was saying early. He's like, we we just by sitting home, you either be a game down

or two games now and we ain't gaining. It would be nice to hear we either be a game down again at half a game or something. You know, So pull that schedule up, Kurt. When is that game? What game is that? The Redskins Jiant at the Giants. Redskins at the Giants is noon on Sunday, noon on Sunday. They need did the john Z to come to life? Man? Who's the game? Who's the game tonight? The game tonight is the Dolphins at the Texas, all right? And the cares?

And then Monday night is who Monday Nights Patriots Bills? Who cares? But the Eagles are at the Jaguars, So that's that's not gonna be a rollover on the road, although they're well, they doesn't agree. Do you see did you see the Jaguars last week? Yeah? But they're their backs are against the wall and they're at home. So you hope. What is the Jaguars rucker three? And they're both three and four? Okay, And I ain't trying to be funny. You say you watched the Jackson be A

game against US, right, did you see what I saw? Well? Yeah, but I'm okay they lost. They lost the next game? Am I correct? Yes, it's Blake Boarders that quarterback. Yes he is. Will Lena Fourte be back? No, okay, okay, all right, well Mark, I love Kurt because he is the most optimistic dude. But you can talking about it. Yeah, I can talk about it now, I can talk you know what this is? You know what this segment is?

Kick Kurt and Tommy John No, no, no, no, there are things I can go into the game and say, okay, here's a small package. Just make sure you're ready to do this. I think standbacks package would probably be smaller than Miles Austin, but you know Austin's package is going to have to expand. I just don't know how much you can get out of Terry Glenn. Like I said earlier, Douglas, what the hell does that have to do with anything? How did you find that? What does Douglas, Tommy Johnson

package drop. This is what's amazing about Kurt. This is what makes me laugh about Kurt. This is what makes you laugh about him. If we ask him to pick games against the Cowboys, he had he picks so good against us, he could tell us when we're gonna win. He gonna tell us when we're gonna lose. Yeah, I've been like Kurt pretty good at this. And then he gonna get the lonely Jacksonville Jaguars to beat the Eagles.

How do you not feel great? You know why? Because I have a hard enough time follow on this team, much less of real team you should. How do you feel you still feel good about that? Jack Jacksonville pick no, Eagles are winning, Eaves are winning four and four were in third place. But no, no, no, I'm serious, man, nah nah, I just hey, if I don't see Jacksonville when Kurt is gonna pranching Monday, no one, please don't. All right, let's get this back on the track. Okay,

let's take a break, all right, and we come back. Douglas. You got Mama Gross's number. Yeah, let's call Mama Gross and then we'll go forgot any time left, We'll go around the uh Wagon, Get on about a challenge, Go around the Yeah, go around the U, the NFL on hanging with the boys. Watch the season alley of Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders Making the Team on CMT tonight at nine o'clock and this afternoon four o'clock, we are hosting two very special guests, Kelly Finglass and Judy Trammell to all things DCC and to preview the show. I got my pink on today in honor of DCC podcast, So brought us get out here? Who got six minutes left? Who got he's got Dane, what are they doing? A draft show? They're doing a

draft show next a draft shows. Since a minus number one pick, that's like think they will start early with making that second round pick up. Big thing. Y'all could delay that pick for another two or three weeks. Since you don't have to do all that. Here we go. What do you got to say? Brought us? I got to say, when you don't have a number one draft pick, you gotta dig a little harder on this draft show. You know, this is traditionally what we do for the

open week. And so yeah, Dane, Dave, myself, we'll be right after you guys. Great, appreciate you guys warming them all up, man, But yeah, we're gonna investigate and educate. Yeah. I was just gonna say, did it did it hurt your feelings that we gave up the number one because of this show? No? No, no, it didn't any chance in your mind that they we will have a number

one one draft time row. You never know how the draft's gonna flow, and you don't know what position you might be picking in the second round, and you don't know, you know, you think you have okay, maybe have some assets to maybe go somewhere and get the back end of that thing. You can always give up your next years next year one if you want to do that too. But that's no, it's you never know until it actually happens.

But I think if if folks are listening to the draft show, you know, we we tend to cover a lot of names. I mean we really do. We try and get all the names in here. So, um, that's something that you know, it's not just about the first round guys, it's about okay, who's the second third round? When we would talk about a bunch of guys when we get this thing going full time quickly quickly, we had a call to say no, no, did you feel

right mama? Hearns has following me on Twitter, and yeah, very much, man, I'm appreciate that we we The question was that hey, brought us is defending you know, this guy for the number one pick. Do you feel like that's a defense? Man? H Is that a legit? Am I defending him? Is giving up? I'm okay with defending as No, I'm not defending the kid. I realized this is where I appreciate the owner of the general manager here. I appreciate the fact that he hasn't quit on me.

You know, I appreciate, I appreciate the fact that you know what he said, you know, and nothing. It hurts. It hurts him more to give up number one picks than me, It really really does. And I've sat there for two years and watched him without a number one pick, and it does. It just tears him apart. So for him him to make this move, he's basically told the locker room, Hey, offense, I'm not giving up on you. Defense. I'm trying to help you. You guys, keep you keep

holding the seventeen points a game. We'll figure this thing out offensively. So yeah, and he's also given a coach a chance too. Yeah, he could have very well done what the Giants have done and just start selling players off and then yeah, and it's the hell of it and that's it, you know. Yeah, But as a fan, you should appreciate the fact that this guy's fighting for you to try and turn the sing around. He sees what's in this division, he sees what's going on. He

knows that Washington can't run away with his thing. And in Philadelphia, you know, you got a couple of opportunities against them. So yeah, as a fan, I would appreciate what he's trying to do for me now and we'll see what happens in the springtime. Okay, we'll see. Well with that, see if mama girls appreciate what you think? Yeah, all right, are you there? I'm here, mama girls? What's up? How are you? I'm wonderful, happy mother? Thank you. Yeah,

that's a first for this show. Yeah, this week we assumed. I don't know, are you happy? Mom? I hadn't pushed yea off this week? Haven't? Yeah? I put y'all on the map. What can I say? Point love it? What do you think about the show yesterday? From one as a mother? Well, first of all, as a mother, I would defend you, whether you were good, battering different, and I would always you do you do? And my mom

would clause out. Yeah. As a professional football player, I wonder what if I could have been I would have thought about it. I don't know if I would have been able to do that, but maybe it depends on how bad you heard my favorite No, no, no, no, let me let me say this. Let me say this right here. And I want to thank Kurt, and I want to think everybody that was involved yesterday that uh ma'am for her to do that, yeah that you know,

we we touched her. Now it maybe wasn't in a positive way, but we touched her and uh and and for her to come on and handling it as well as she did, because I promise you some mom's No. I wanted to say something else to your program is supposed to touch people. You are doing hanging with the boys to get them more involved with your players and stuff. So to me, that was the perfect platform for a mom's voice an opinion. Well thanks, moms. Okay, you'll picture

right quickly. We run out of time. How do you do? Hey, how'd you do last week? Let's go? I won four? Okay, wow, lost lost two, pushed one. All right, So what's that bring you to for the year. I have no idea what you're supposed to be keeping you They got a sand for what just happened. Fruit, don't fall too far, all right, I'll get the total back on track. I think she's up on the yearly around six. Okay, okay, all right, all right, what you got this week? All right? No, no,

there's no LSU and there's no cowboys. So you're getting you're getting two extra games, right, right, you're telling me to pick seven, okay, okay, all right, which is hard? Okay, all right, okay, we're going with the Broncos and the Cheese. Of course, you know she and who I'm going with. Chiefs are giving up seven and I'm taking the cheese. She gives you the line, Oh yeah, let's go. Okay, the Redskins in the New York Giants. The Redskins are

giving up one. But I got to say, even though I hope they lose because I want them to lose, but I think they're gonna they're gonna win it. Redskins minus one, right, that doesn't make me happy? All right, go ahead, Okay. The Eagles and the Jaguars getting up. The Eagles are giving up three. They're in London. I think the Eagles are the team this is that's in London. Yeah. Yeah, and the owner likes London, he lives their Yeah, you're taking the maybe a win brought in May pulling this

out their team that doesn't every year. You're taking Eagles minus three, right, okay? Okay. The Packers and the Rams. The Rams are giving up nine. They're at home, I've got to stay with the Rams. Whoa, you're getting Rams minus nine against the Packers? Shootout right there? Okay? I am all right? Now give me Aaron Rodgers on that one. Go ahead Seahawks and the lines. The lines are getting up two and a half and I'm taking and the lines just got a good defensive player brought us tol

Us other snacks snacks Harrison, Seahawks plus two. Are you sure can run the ball against Detroit two and a half? Okay? You told me that against the Bears too, Nate, and look what happened. Good point. You're you're in the resident book. You keep going, all right? The two extra games I picked the Ravens and the Panthers. Man, Ravens are giving up too. I'm going with the Ravens Ravens minus two. DeKay, okay, okay. And I'm taking the Sunday night game the Saints and

the Vikings. Who are you going with the Saints? The Vikings are giving up one? Pick? Yeah, Saints plus one? All right? Who did disclaimer? I got it? Oh this is for entertainment purposes on none is there that we do with Mama grows? There were do us a favor. Okay, no more challenges. Please come on, where's you? Where's your because all we got out of that was missus herns. I love it. Look what it did for you guys. Yeah, Jo trying to pick it, Kurt. It shut us all

up for about ten seconds, silent. Yeah we were Mom said I call She called me last night. I was on the way home. She goes. All Kurt would do is just sit there and smile. What do you do? Miss well? Mom? Thank you so much. What are you doing on the bye week? Hey? We gotta keep me's wrote down? Miss miss miss Gross, I got everything down. I just didn't do the percentage. What are you doing for the bye week before we get out of here? I'm not doing anything. I'm staying home and watch football.

It's raining here, it's nasty. Yeah here too. It's supposed to be seventies though on the weekend. So so you ain't got no new names that you're gonna hang with that we don't know? No, no, okay, I can't take anymore deer and headlights. Well, Kurt, thanks for showing up, Nate, thanks for bringing it broad us for stopping. Thank you, guys, Mom, thanks for being a part of the show, Douglas, thank you, I guess, thank you too, thanks for pushing the buttons. Pressley,
