how many more day? What was that? What's the one? Is Christmas? Eighteen days? Eighteen days until Christmas. On the first day of Christmas. Much feelings, feeling aren't there. I just saw the the you know, the Christmastide trailer. One trailer to ham Hawks three too and a hardy and a hoodie. That's Nate, Nate Newton, Kurt Daniels, Jesse Holly. Together we are hanging with the boys. The sports Talk equivalent of the sports Talk. What does that say? Equivalent
equivalent of brel People feel us when we speak. The second that is brought to you by Wingstop. When Flavor gets this wing gentlemen, how are you. I'm doing great. I got someone want to say red quick? Yes, sir? What was the guy that's from a foreign land that always calls that loves Jesse Muhammad? He dogged you, That's all I had to say. He dogged you out yesterday. Oh yeah, he dogged you out. My boy would never do okay, go ahead on, never do that, man, Okay,
healthy dog man. It sounds like you're surrounded by schools a little if you and everyone knows like I work at a school and as you cost, you know this. But it's going around here. Oh yeah, it's starting to go around virus whatever in our side of the building. Is it? It starts, it's starting to matriculate now. I heard Kelvin Joseph miss practice today because he was feeling a little ill. I don't think he can afford to miss any practice time. But he's out of practice. Um yeah, man,
we had so many teachers out yesterday. It was it was all hands on deck. It was all hands on deck to be huh say what they used to be? YEA takes take lid and take them down. Na nah nah. So we've had and then there's no subs there's already a teacher shortage, a sub shortage. Then when the sickness hits, the hint hitster fan Jeff, some signs or something yesterday.
I just sit there and maintain it the piece, keep the k Yeah, Jay, I just jumping from room in the room and just trying to make sure everything is flowing smoothly. The three thirty. What they call you, cougar Holly, Nah, mister Holly, cougar Holly. The parents call me he's addie though, mister zaddie. Can you show me what that how that question works? That that wh did you hate? Girl? Yeah? Man, that's funny. Now you guys good, We're good, brood good,
You're good, You're good. Yeah. All right, Nate, I'm gonna I'm gonna turn this thing over to you. Man. You want to you want to tell us about Cowboys offense, Texas defense. Okay, this is what I feel, and I can only be honest and how I feel. Okay, the Dallas Cowboys offense scored thirty three points in one quarter. All you have to do is do that in the
first quarter and we can start resting guys getting red. Y'all. Yeah, just do that in the first quarter, because I'm telling you, if you just show up and put your shadow on the field, that should be enough, because you let the Texas be in the game. Come on, man, come on man, how how if you know we've talked about them getting off the slow starts, how important is it for them to this brother's trying to hye me down. Man to dude, right now, you look like he's something serious. You go
out you go out there, y'all check this dude. Hold on, y'all check this dude for he can't because if he ain't packing to do something to him, you might ow you might owe him a couple he knocked you on your head. I ain't going out there with you, all right. Well, we lost Nate for first segment. I think he may know him, may not know him. Who knows that's name? It's a brother name. Everybody, Um past start. I mean, if you can't get a fast start against these guys,
then said troublesome? Is it troublesome? A part of me wants to say yes, But then a part of me also wants to say, well, well, the slow start result into the finishes that they've had in the last couple of weeks. Right, Like, okay, you say, well, slow start, all right, Yeah, that's bad, but what if we give you forty on the back end? You know, so so so Again, the Cowboys have seemed to be reluctant to come out and blow the sorry teams out this season.
For whatever reason that is. I don't know, it's it's mentality, time of day, want to well, I don't know, but they just have I don't know that there's no analytics tone it, there's anything that says, here's why we've started out slow against teams that aren't very good, but they will. Yeah that at the end of the day, they've they've won. And the way that they've responded from those soul starts, at least since Dak Prescott has come back, has been
of historic proportion. Yeah, for sure, you know what I'm saying. And so you don't I don't think we we we don't want to see a slow start because then that allows for the mentality to creep in that there is a possibility that we can lose this game. Yeah, you know, And and the thing about NFL football games, and it's it's always key to remember this. You don't know what the next play is going to break. Yeah, that that is always the you know, is it a turnover? Is
that the one play where someone gets beat slip? You know, Zach Martin could slip and lose his block and it'd be a sack FuMB before a touchdown. I mean, those type of freaky things happen in a ball game because going into it, you'll say, old tyrris M Zack Martin will be fine. Yeah, but the one time you hold you go, wait what you gotta call the wrong number.
So it's it's in those games when you have those slow starts, the chance and the opportunities for things to it's not any much margin for er maybe, yeah, just for weird things to happen, you know. And and I don't I don't want to speak injury or anything like that over anyone or anything. But again, you never know, you know who who would have thought on that play in the first week of September that that will break his thumb? Yeah, you just those things you never ever
ever know. And the longer you have to play the top level of your starters in a game that should be ye open and shut case quick, then that's the But again, it can happen to play one yeah. Yeah, So that's the biggest thing. You don't want to see the slow starts because you don't want to start building the habit of we can start slow and be okay and that'll be fine, and well, well you know, we'll
we'll hit the switch. Yeah, that is always a fear of mine when when you look at teams who who play like that, who who play in the sense of and it remind me that time to the Golden State Warriors when they go when they try to you know, they'll play a game and they'll play a game and they'll do this, they'll do that, and all of a sudden they'll go, all right, well, well we'll be fine, we'll turn it on. It'll it'll come on. And for the most part, those teams with pedigree in history, you
tend to believe it, you know. And for the Cowboys, I've I've stood on this soapbox and I'll continue to stand in this soapbox until the soapbox breaks or they prove me wrong. So y'all live through the top of them out. No, we're just talking about it until the Cowboys can can get into the playoffs and get into deep into the playoffs. Anything that resembles things that are negative habits that they can carry into the playoffs. I
don't want to see slow starts. I do not want to see Can that Can slow starts be a habit? Can that? Can that be a bad habit? Or is that just kind of a flukey thing where the game get you false confidence each game confidence and being able to come back. Yeah, because you've you've been able to come back against the teams that are not so good. If and I'm gonna want to Jesse, you know, I
tried to leave. I purposely. I don't want to talk about it because I just don't want to go through another three three quarters sitting there say Okay, we're a better team, We're the better team. Okay, when is it gonna happen? Oh, okay, it happens. Finally happened, And like Jesse's done for last three games, it's hard to forget. So I can't even continue because the more you talk about this is like to be bringing rat to our house. These guys, And I'm serious, we should go out and
first half, first quarter and score thirty three points. Let's try the other way. Let's start fast, get thirty three points, make them quit and let these young guys play. Is that is that possible? Can we do it like that for a change instead of just messing around, messing around, messing around, and then we win because everything Jesse said about being negative, that pops right into your head. I was trying not to listen to you guys, but I didn't want to walk in here blinds. Oh my god.
And like we talked about last week, this is the second installment of the ramp up for the Cowboys, yea, for that Christmas Sear game. It is this is but no, you're so you're so right? Well, see when people say good stuff, I can't you know you don't want to cut you oall something like yeah, right. We talked about this. We said, okay, you got three teams that you can play that can that show you a sending going right
to the Eagles. You know, we may not catch the Eagles, and we may even beat the Eagles, you know, but they were still I think they'll probably was quick squeaked this thing out, having a one game or one one and a half game league going into the playoffs. But now you're letting them, you put them on notice. But as a player and as a concerned player. Where of how people are perceiving me. You're not making people scatter you. It's some people scattered the Eagles. They're facing the Eagles,
right WHOA. How many lists are we are saying, boy, you don't want to play them cowboys? You know, like we see I'm saying, we don't want to play it for the Niners, we don't want to play town Brady, we don't want to play that the Eagles. How many short lists of we on't like that? You know, I mean, Jesse, I mean, I'm no, that's a great point. Yeah, probably not many. Yeah, And you don't you don't hear it locally, you don't hear it nationally. You know of teams saying
we are afraid of the big bad Cowboys. Yea, the track record doesn't hold up. It's just our defense. Our defense is nice, y'all. And and I'll keep saying that our defense is nice, and and it's gonna come up point where they may not hold up. And Jess have been saying this over and over. And you know where where your defense usually get hit in the head in the first round of the playoffs, and that's where that offense has to take over. And that's where Dad has
to be sharp precise. You know, norm way his receivers that vice versa. It normally happens right in the first playoff game, you know, just you hit on a point. And I want to just ask a question, is it becoming concerning because I think in the last three games, I think Dak has seven interceptions? Is six or seven interceptions in the last month three games? Is there a little concern there? And I'm not saying that Dak is Oh yes, no, no, you're I'm saying it. So you
don't say it. You can't continue to do that, or six in the last five or no, six in the last five in the last five games. You cannot do that just for the sake of doing it. You can't say And he says this himself, Well, I'm gonna be aggressive that that. As smart as he is and as telligence is, I'm not questioning that. But you don't force anything anywhere, never as a quarterback, because he gives defensive backs. Oh, he gonna give you one. As great as I think
this kid, we just played that. Uh. In these younger days, Matt Ryan, every time I turn on the TV, you listen to the guys on other scenes. But he gonna give you one right soon. Isn't that part of what makes these quarterbacks great? A guy like Rogers or Brady and these guys that they're willing to take that They're willing to be aggressive, They're willing to take that chance. And so how do you I mean, they don't want Cooper rush out there just thinking and dunking down. So
you want aggressiveness, you don't want recklessness. It's a thin line, I think, And that's that's it. It's a thin line between aggressiveness and recklessness. And we give those who wed in the media or whatever the pundits may call, or the experts or the scouts, and we give we give a little bit of grace to those who we call to have the arm talent, right to the Patrick Mahomes and the Buffalo Josh Allens, those kids who have the big, strong,
powerful arms. When they throw one in there and they may get picked off, we kind of give them a little bit of grace because we go, hoof boy, he tried to drive that one in there. And there's history of them probably getting a few in there that shouldn't probably have gone in there. But for you know for the Cowboys and it for Dak Prescott. You know, he's never been looked at as a quarterback who's had the
most talented arm. Right. That's probably one of the reasons why he fell to the fourth round because he didn't have this big explosive arm like you see these other quarterbacks that we talk about have. And so for him, when he throws the interceptions in a game, I think not only the interception at times, like the way that they look right like and this Cowboys offense is one that puts up the points. But again, I look at things now in a playoff capsule, can we afford the
things that we're seeing in a negative basis? Can we can we overcome them in the playoffs? That gets a team or teams that play a little different style of football. I wonder too, though, how many of those interceptions are on the receivers? You know, we you know, Gallops route that last week was just kind of rounded. We've talked about Lamb maybe not doing what he's doing. Is it's still all fall on you know, we don't have this
kind of show. And one day I wish, I wish, I wish I will be a part of one of these types of shows. Not anything knock on us, but being able to get on the board and to truly like kind of break down some of the stuff, because when you look at Kellen's offense, you know what. Let's
hold down. Let's take a break and I'll explain to you what I mean on the other side of that break in the difference between having just solely man beating routes in your offense and having routes in your offense that are conceptually designed to open up a bunch of people. I'll tell you. I'll talk a little bit more deeply about that on the second half on the other side of this break. So stay right here with this, Kurt, Nate Jess hanging with the boys. We'll be right back.

I didn't know the guys didn't get computer on yesterday, So we're gonna have computer pop on, and then once we're done with the computer, there should be enough time left and I'll break down what I was trying to say in the first segment about having the difference between having solely man beating routes in your offense and how that helps and hinders your offense opposed to having concept routes or
conceptual routes scheming into your offense where multiple guys are able to get open and your quarterback doesn't have to guess wrong or right on every single passing play. But first we jumped to the phone lines and talk to our boy computer. What's up, man, what's going on? I'm gonna tell y'all doing today. Man. We are doing well on this hump day. Man. The weather is pretty decent. Hit rain a little bit, but it's in the seventies, so can't complain too much. Man. Let's just kind of
briefly recap since we didn't talk to you yesterday. Let's give Let's give us a quick recap of the game from your perspective from Sunday. I knew the game was gonna be like that at first because that team beat Kansas City. They played the Eagles down to the last player of the game or run Eagle one day game, because they got a pass in appearance on that last draft.
They got the ball down to the twin and then Jalen just ran an in from there and they got like a thirty seven yard up pillings and then they just tripped each other's feet and they called it on the inn after cornerback and that's how they got down the field one that game. That team has had a great run defense. They have been stopping to run all year. We got more running yards on them. They have gave up all year long. We got over two ny yards Russia.
They got players too, and you're playing on Sunday night. And then and then each one of the seven dacks interceptions like more last week, Michael Gallup was face masked by Gilmore. He pulled in I got the picture of where he pulled his face mass and grabbed it in the referee sitting there looking at him. They threw him off his route that was a timing route. So what that needs to realize is he don't have this deluxury
of other quarterbacks. If he gonna throw the ball, he got to make sure it wasn't no pen make sure it was not done to receive before the ball get there, because if he don't, he gonna end them throwing the recepond because all they gotta do is grabbed by players. July Ceede Lamb said, they've been grabbing his arm all yether he've been able to kick the ball with one hand, they're not gonna call it. I know, y'all man, because
he threw them picks. I wore too, But I went back and looked the Element with files on those plays. On all seven those interceptions in the past a couple of weeks, he either receiver was knocked off his round and he was held or pull or something that happened the ref didn't even call it. Then the end up being an awkor to the time and route. Dacknam just need to quit throwing those time and rounds like they expecting receives be open because if something happens on the
way to them, getting open. It's not gonna be called just like that outside when the dude jumped outside and he just threw it because he thought he had a free play, but he didn't hand on free play because they didn't call the off side man. It's it's it's he got a problem, and he'd made a couple of mistakes. But damn it, it's not all about him all the time. It's the NFL and with the crap they pull it.
They just called the game fair. And if Gilmore grabber receiver by the phase man, they should call the fifteen yards. It wouldn't have been no interception. Damn t I know. And then that I know hes trying to and he needed to quit listening to the NOAs he needed to listen to. He needed one presson. He probably need to talk to is Quincy Carter because kiss Quincy Carter let the noh's getting him. That's why he lost his career in doubts. He let all that outside know. And I
don't want the same thing that happened to that cocaine. Cocaine. I think it was cocaine. Think think cocaine was the cause of that career. But go ahead, I'm sorry what me and you're talking about it. After that, we'll talk about that. I got some information on that you don't know, and I'm not gonna fit it because I don't want to get fired. Okay, but yeah, it ain't all what you thought it was. Trust me, I know I'd be in this stuff like period Mason brother, I look at
I like that. I like that. But but like but like the Eagles in the forty nine, I'm gonna lost their quarterback. We can't beat the four nine what a seven round pit quarterback? And then we can't go out and put a whippon on Tom Brady. Tom Brady main't not nothing all year whatever. A team, A team would never be scattered the Cowboys because we are so hated.
Nobody would never say anything positive about them. If they say anything positive about them on the radio or anything, they're not gonna get no click, no lights, or nothing. Our own fan base hate our team. We got the number one offense since DA been back pass offense. If people still say Cooper Rush is better than him, I even heard Romo fed on TV. Even Troy Aigman took up for Cooper Rush talking about he Well, you know, I watched the take that. Come on, Troy, you know
Cooper Rushies can't play no football like that. Let me ask let me, let me ask you this. Let me let me ask you this. If, if who is who is the most who should be the most feared playoff team in the NFC right now? It should be us for the simple reason everybody else speak to be better. If I was playing the Cowboys and everybody, I'm glad people saying they crap and we crap. I'm glad they're saying it because when they get ready to go on
those games, we're gonna be the underdog. One thing about us on when we the underdog and people say we're gonna get out, but we always end up winning the game. You know, So let them keep talking about the four to nine ers and the Eagles and all of that. You know, let them keep on. You know, to me, that's fake provido with some of those teams. You know what I'm saying, They talk a lot of crap. They
want to talk about Buffalo. Buffalo ain't want they never won the Super Bowl, but they pulled me the greatest franchise of all times. They get talked about how great they all it took Candy said it fifty years to get one super Bowl. But they end they read the greatest coach of all times and the read lost a couple of super bowl because he's pick at it. You know, basically he had telled him up there and he had that good team. He made bad decisions, but now they
won't say it because he did great play callers. If you wanted many games and did much as Andy read your how decommitted to super Bowls? Is Belichick? Dude? But he only got one? Then people then people put their pants legs and like on everybody else do bad? Slipper got one super Bowl? What's them between him and the rest of them? Wrestle Mike McCarthy got one. They said he can't coach, and they got the coach in Philadelphia
ranked high and Mike McCarty. Mike mccontiny doesn't lost that Prescott for twenty some games because he's been in doubts and he got a winning record without Dak Prescott, a winning record without Dak Prescott and without Tyrants Milk, one of the last coach of the hand, I had a winning wreckled out of times Millo at the left hand side breakfeat off of him, and we lose one player. This man can coach and Will McClay got all that
stuff that happened. The pads is in the pad. Let's deal with this team, this coaching staff, at this ordinance das up that Will McClay building this team. We don't lost two starts in college and were still winning our flot corner and our outside corner and them and them, yass a player. But nobody talks about how good they planning. Everybody want to talk about all the bad all the time. They just throw some positivity into this ain't for the rest of the year and see what happened. If it
is crash and burned, then we can talk. No one's at the end. But let's just be positive for a little while. Just give me a couple of weeks. Let's just try to build some positivity and let's see what happened. We don't try it all this negative, and they ain't never got us nowhere but beating the playoffs in the first rounds. I there asking uh asking uh Parson crazy of course, tell them to leave them boys along the man and ask them some positive when they I'm listened
when they talk to Jalen hurts something feel them. They never asked him anything, nigs. They pump him up and make him feel good, and he come out there when that come out there and places like he got to prove the world wrong because everybody say he crept off week long and he won the game. The negatives that has has has has killed us. That's what I know. It's been twenty six years, but it's been a lot of teams. They've never even been to the super Bowl
before or to the playoffs. Teams that league, they never even been in the super Bowl. That's great work. You're right, computer man, and all right, so give us give us your quickly quickly being the positive word in this Uh well, I think what I think now, y'all wait a second, Wait a second, way the second, I got it, I got it, I got it. Give us your positive outlook
for the Cowboys versus the Texans this week. We need to come out and just like Nate said, beat the brakes off from real early because this team ain't gonna put up no fight. You know what I'm saying. You have to They don't, they don't, they don't. They don't have the defense that the coach had. And you know, so they don't and then they got a pretty good running back. We just need to cipher they bron don't
beat the brakes off of them. Get out, receive us a little bit of work, run out, tight end, run some run, some old motions with CD, and then get out and you can be done by halftime. Let them boyd rist up so we get ready to go play in Florida the next week. All right, give me a score board to nine to twelve. I love computer positive compositive positive computer forty nine to twelve. Cowboys over to the Texas. Brother, you have a good rush to the week. Man.
We're gonna keep this positive trade pushing and we'll see you next week. Brother, I will see I'll lay the piece positive positive Nate. Don't come in with that negative, bro. That's why I want them to come them out in the first quarter and get thirty three points. Yeah, yeah, so they can rest rest some guys I got. You. Don't make this a struggle. No, shouldn't. It shouldn't have to be. All right, let's jump into our third and final break. Uh, we have to do it. Wow. Receivers
Odell Beckham pat his visit. Yeah, you need to break I want to I'm gonna break that down. We'll talk about a little bit Odell. We'll break that down. Uh. And then Citee Lamb was on the Fourth Letter Network and he had something to say or not say, or kind to say about the whole situation. And maybe guys are kind of getting a little bit tired of the whole Odell Beckham talk. Interesting, we didn't see any guys on the offensive guys on the Odell Beckham recruiting visit,
at least not visibly. This is uh is a hanging with the boys. Man. We'll be right back. Stay with us. Hey, cowboys fans, ready to spice up your next watch party? Bring Yokiro guacamola. As we continue to break down, I don't even know what you like this Texans team is. I was looking at that too. I mean, they're just so bad. I tried to run outa try to run I see Jess Day. I tried to run out, man, because but Jess,
you gotta cut. But you get you get to a certain point in time of the season and one ten and one when you when you try to sit out and you try to watch teams to prepare for teams, and this this this goes back to what we talked about earlier as a former player, former player, current writer, there are some things that at times you go and
you go, this is so boring that I lose my focus. No, no, really, And so when you try to prepare for a team like Houston and you turn on the film, it's like you almost have to go into the when they do. I don't, but as a player, you gotta go onto that Michael Jordan mold where I gotta find something. Yeah, Like I think that's that dude that that says something to my girl on the internet back in the day. So put to fuel that drive to get you into
this thing. I mean, there's only seventeen in these years. I mean, I know, like when you're playing an eighty two team, you know, a game, basketball season or even baseball, I would think, is it harder still to get up for some of these games? For this? For this, for a game like this, you look up and you go, boy, these dudes are bad like you when you in this league.
Pop on the film because honestly, like when you get into the film room, the way that they break the film down per week, you're only gonna watch maybe three or four games, not even the totality you want to get clips from the last three games because you want to pick up the Tennessee to the last three games. Once you go through that, it's like and you start seeing for activity the other field, You're like, how am I supposed to watch this for the rest of it?
This is where can I go get two minutes? When I was setting the guys this night, I'm gonna keep repeating. I'm gonna even repeating on something I gotta do tomorrow. I hated this week. I hate it when I played you know, y'all rather you know, I don't like to go back to when we played the Barbarick days. I hate it when we had to play this type of team because our practices would be murder because Jimmy was straight up tell us he won't even hard to talk
about the Texas. He'd be like, Okay, what do we need to work on? And we would be out there getting it on. You be like, man, and then we get ready to play the Texas. Do you know what he say? I need you to just play at a high level. We know what level we play at, stay at our level and win the game. Some of them games we won by a couple of scores, but most of them. We won by six points. But we didn't look raggedy. We didn't. We didn't. We didn't look out
of sink, you know. And so and then, you know, just like we said, building up to what we got to face, it's up to your veterans. If your veterans come out trying to handle that business and and doing their things, you should be all right. I don't care what the score is, but look clean. I want you to look clean, like you're cut down on the penalties to three. Keep keep it right there and just play clean and hard and your and your talent will will will just shine. Yeah, am I am I wrong? No,
you're right, No, you're right. But now you can't have those old physical, crazy practices and working on yourselves. You know, you still can work on yourselves mentally and mentally. But yeah, when the cowboys aren't sound like he was. But but and that goes back to you know, back then, there was no no number of practices you can have all
the times you can be on the field. Now there's times is a number of practice you can have, And so I don't know, but yeah, this it always is difficult for games like this to even watch as an analyst to break down. But all right, so let me get into what I was talking about. When you look at a team offensively, and a lot of this has to do with how the Cowboys run their offense. And it goes back to when we talk about Cede Land
being wide receiver one. This particular offense, the Cowboys offense, this isn't one of those offenses that schematically gives you multiple answers, right, and understand what I'm saying here, Like every offense has reads first, second, third, read, you know all those type of things. The new age of offenses gives you multiple answers and how you're going to do things.
Meaning when you come to the line of scrimmage, if the coverage is there, or the coverage is that right, if the boxes light, if the box is heavy, and so you have different looks and it gives you different opportunities to do things. The Cowboys and what they do offensively is they have a lot their offense is built on everybody being a man beater, meaning all the routes in the play call means someone has to beat their
man to get open. And if no one beats their man to get open, there's nowhere for dad to go with the football right, opposed to when other teams run their offense, they may have this side being a man beater, this side being something that we're going to scheme up to give you another option if the man side isn't open, and a lot of time they set it up to where your wide receiver one is on the man beating side of the office or what you predicted going to be,
or however it plays out, and so they're saying, hey, on the right side, and we're called whatever play that we're calling on the right side is let's say, um, give me Jamar chase all right, Jamar, listen, it's man and man coverage. You're the first read right, but you have to win. But if they decided to go out, but we're doubling over here, well on the opposite side, we have a conceptual route where now guys have multiple options to get open, so that the quarterback and come
to the line of scrimmage and have multiple options. This offense where it runs into trouble is everyone across the board is running man beating option routes and so if they're winning, this is when you see Dak at times have to force throws into dangerous areas. So those sillium mistakes that we see at times, it's because that comes to the line of scrimmage and because everything's a man beat And when I say man beater, I understand, I know the difference between zones and man and stuff like that.
And even the man routes have zone options or conversions to them, but the concept is still a man beating route, the man verse man has to win. Michael over was so great in that man beating office because he and Tryants that's a connection when they would run certain routes that even though he might have been covered, he would still be able to get it in there. Because of that relationship, CD and dak Is get are getting there. You're starting to see it ramp up a little bit.
But I think in order for this offense to take the next step and to see players like Michael Gallup develop, and this is why we don't see a lot of In my opinion, this is why we don't see a lot of Covanta Turpin because not that he can't beat man, but Cavanta Turpin works better and situations where you allow him to be creative. So this offense doesn't lend isn't Cavanta Turpin friendly players like that? You gotta that's why
he only comes in on package plays. How can How is he allowed to be or any player allowed to be creative if the quarterback expects him to be doing a certain thing. When I say creative, I don't mean
him being out there being able to freestyle. What I mean creative is is that yes in this in the scheme of things, right you you watch other offenses where you'll have a guy, he'll come down instead of picking a guy go around it and now all of a sudden, you got that speed come up the sideline, or you've seen routes where he begins that deep over there, puts his foot in the ground to come back where he just left from. So there's things like that, and that
allows the creativity to to to really persist. But to get him in this offense, you, I don't think Kavanta Turpin is a route runner. So not being a route runner and being small doesn't lend in this offense for you to be in the rotation of the eleven man personnel. Yes, who is the route runner on our team? The route runner on this team right now that that's using it is ceedee Lamb. He's the one that they've been using. And you saw that last game, the way they used
him and put him in motion. That was Kellen Moore finally saying, you're going to be um, You're going to be the You're gonna be the number one option in this route. So we're gonna send you a motion because we want to get the matchup to get you the ball. And when you watched the route that he threw the interception on, that was one of those things where he
should have never even went over there. That the ball should have never even went over there, like like the option of the player should have never went over there, should have went to the same field. But this is these are the limitations that at times now Dak will get blamed for it, and as he should in the part of the ball comes out of your hand last, yeah, right, so you have a decisity to throw out a back live to see another day. So you got you gotta
piece of that. But he's put in some of these situations in scenarios because of the offense that he's in. It limits his opportunity to go out there and really have a valuable option after the ball is snapped. You know, all of that sounds good and well, but they've been together for more than three years now, quarterbacking, offensive coordinator and receiver has been together more than three years or three years right at the max off and old Remember
Dak broke his ankle, he had the calf injury. I'm just saying, but yes, but still still I understand not working together. But you you you send them there on that chopboard, and this is where we. Like I said, I wanted the smartest dude, but I was still allowed to ask and was encouraged to ask questions, what coach, what has this happened? What's my next read? Or what should I be looking for? A kind of what can
I expect on this? You, Dak is smart and inquisitive, so I know you got to be asking these questions. So now can you convey this to the wide receiver. I mean, I'm not trying to be funny because I don't like taking stabs at people. But you know we're here during the off season. You got a fifty yard field that he works on with these guys. You you gotta stop just running routes against aar and start saying, hey, fellas, look at I'm gonna put this cone up here at
this position. What are you thinking so you can get on the same page, you know now, because that's that's getting old because games are getting lost, years are going past, and you're still saying the same thing. Yeah, so you you it gets to a point, you know, in computer not negative, just looking at the game from a different set on insis. And this is what this is what hurts the Cowboys when you're getting too playoff football because everything now gets struncken down and teams lock in so
much soul focuses on all right, let's stop their winning tendencies. Yes, if we can't stop it, let's destruct it in such a way that it throws them off. And so the Cowboys get into these playoffs and all of a sudden, it ain't willy nilly guys that you know, you don't have all that that that free will that you had during the regular season, because they're like, oh yeah. And so when you see teams start throwing those different excuse me, those different zone looks at us, it's because what we
do offensively is a bunch of man beating routes. And when you have a bunch of man beating route concepts in your offense and you have to play through zone that has a slightly good pass rush. It throws off the timing and what you can do because everything that you're based on are these guys winning one on one matchups to be successful in the offense. So you know, I rather see Turfin get just a couple of drag routes across the middle, then to bring it out five
yards deep out of the zone. Start on the ten, start on the fifteen. Ye. But it's the same give him that play running down the field. Let's see Getty catch the ball because every guy ain't gonna be able to stop him on the line. Right. So what you would like to see then is maybe Lamb is doing the one man beat a route while the other guys on the other side are they're doing something schematically to
free themselves. Correct and then let the let let the let the route concept be the way that you're winning. That's West Coast style, the way that you're winning instead of the man always having to be the way that
you're winning. That makes any sense. The scheme is what is breaking you open instead of the man having to win verse a man to get open and then you gotta have great, great pride when they throw the quick passes out as a wide receiver blocking, and they do because you see him blocking on the runs for Zeke and for Tony. You see wide receivers Malling didn't be blockside the block for one another. It's like, OK, we get up by blocking duties for the running backs. Yeah,
making decision blocking from receiver, blocking from running back. You can't have both. All right, fellas man, Glad to be back with you all. Kurk appreciate Nate, appreciate, appreciate you handing that first second. I got your brother. I thought, I thought, dude, really bad man put his paws on you. Someone the water does. If he hit me, yeah, I'm soon. If he hit you, knock you back into that door, I will let a lot. I'll go let a lot right behind you. You're back. When it hit the Saints
and that lock hit Bot, I'm like, damn, ain't got Nate. Yeah, I better get security out here. I ain't going out. They look at they looking for me anyway, they trying to. I don't know who looking at. Somebody might want to knock me out for talking trash. Damn how he did Nate Man. It's a shame how he did. Hop n out dude. Man, somebody paid that sixty dollars on that toilet boy. All right, man, let's get up out of him. Man, Nate Kurt, I'm Jay Holly Man. We appreciate you. This
is hanging with the boys, we out. This has been a production of Dallas Cowboys dot Com and the Dallas Cowboys Football Club.
