Teachers who've gone through the process and have then gone back to their schools with gear that is provided to them, which is pretty much all free to the teachers and the schools, which is great because, as we they don't just let hams roll into campuses to teach kids about

It's going to be about eight hours or so and we're going to have segments of knowledge, if you will, a teaching kind of thing like twenty to thirty minute segments. A number of people are going to be hosting different talks throughout the period, and we're going to be taking your donations live. Now, what's the best part about this is the a DOUBRL has lined up funding matching, so for an amount of money.

Those The Scotch Ale, the scotch als are also kind of like rare, the good ones. So I mean, if you didn't know this, right, if you look at a metal detector, you know how there's like a loop, an outer loop and an inner loop. Right, Well, it's literally sending a pulse into the ground and the reflections coming back to it are picked up by the receiving loop, and the signal strength gives them an idea of what the composition is of the metallic thing that's sending back the reflections, and so they can use that to discriminate to a certain type of metal like Composition's

Over the top of the ground. So it's it's a good one.

But yeah, it's I mean, because you know the tide roll in, you know, several times a week, and then you you know the tide comes up and he goes down. It comes up and goes down. So go in at low tide and just walk around, you know, just right in front of the water on the beach and with your metal detectors see what you can find. You might be surprised what you find.

My uncle, his hobby was waiting until ten PM and then going down to the southern California beaches at low tide and then doing that going on the wet sand. Remember for wet sand though, you probably need the pulse induction. He got enough gold jewelry watches he paid for the last two of his brand new F one fifties, which oh with just junk gold, like swapping out like he had mason jars full of just junk gold that he would send in. He made a mint off of this.

Oddly enough, though, there is one thing that they did on the FT five they don't have on the FT three, and that's that scanning feature bugginess.

So if you if you go into scanning like you're doing frequency scanning, yeah, on the FT three, it will actually show the frequencies being scanned. On the FT five, it it didn't do that. They had to push a firmware upgrade that only happened a couple of months ago, and that only works for the frequency scan. It doesn't work for the memory channel scan.

So if you are in memory mode and you hit scan on the FT five, it just says mem scan on the screen while it's doing it in the background. The FT three will actually show you the channel.

Early thing that people were complaining about with the FT five though, is that it didn't change the Yeah you didn't see the Yeah.

They updated it. It works now with the frequencies. That happened just recently. The firmware update. The memscan though is not done.

My my FtM six thousand that I have does that as well. If I put in five channels to the PMG, it'll hold up to five channels, so I put in six top five to two. I put in my all Star node, and depending where I'm at, I might put in a local simplex or repeater. Frequencies are a couple, and I'll hit program scan PMG scan and it just flashes PMG scan on the screen instead of like telling you what frequencies and what channels it's scanning. They would go through the whole list, all on Simplex on five eight zero. It was the one of the coolest nets I've experienced in a long time, and it was all for that purpose of radio to radio communication and people getting their antennas higher and working on the whole thing.

We have a Friday night net every in the North Texas area Dallas for zach in like north western fort Worth, but we have a net on one forty six top five eight every Friday night. Educating teachers about amateur radio, get them all educated up. They can then take that back to their classes and teach the youngsters about what Hamm Radio is. This is high school teachers, middle school teachers, elementary school teachers, to get them all exposed at you know, basically what we all want to do. We all want to get involved with educators and teach people. But the best way to do that is really teach the teachers that do this their everyday job to educate people.

And so that's what the TI does.

And we're going to do a telethon tomorrow to make as much money as we can for them. Every cent goes to their fund to help support what they're doing.

And we're gonna start at.
