Well, Josh, I was gonna ask you to say something about Bob it for for two or three minutes.

I I did not catch him Nation, but I did see your five or six minute tribute stream that's not stream but premiere that you do on your chain. Yeah for him. I thought that was pretty good. I think somebody was cutting onions during ham Nation. Yeah, so I mean, well, thank you, thank you by the way. Yeah, yeah, Bob. Bob had an amazing influence on our community. Uh and also obviously music

music in general, rock and roll. Honestly, he's probably have Kyle had some of his thoughts too, because he was actually like you know, lived near him. But you know, for me, I met Bob as a fan of ham Nation, right, I quote unquote grew up as a ham watching ham Nation. And it wasn't until later, you know, almost pre covid, that I finally met him, and uh, he's just he's just

a great guy that that was positive. Didn't really speak on his own accord, but used an opportunity to kind of show interest in what everyone was was doing with ham radio, what they were passionate about, and he would guide and help and add suggestions. But he was a doer too, so you know, I mean you saw the pie board project, multiple other things, and he was always driving from the steering wheel what he liked to do in

the hobby am him radio. You know, he was out there upfront telling people, encouraging people to yeah, turn your seventy three hundred, am, We'd love to hear you out there, right, Always encouraging, always welcoming. And that's just what I remember about him most and what gave me the most, just I don't know the energy for doing the same kind of stuff with my channel, and I just great guy would seriously will be missed,

massive impact. Absolutely Yeah, well said thank you for that. Yeah, Kyle, if you want to say a few words out, please do. Yeah. So Bob lived in Saint Louis most of his life. He moved over to Belleville, Illinois, and then he spent after he retired, he spent quite a bit of time in like Springfield, Missouri. But he came to our club meetings all the time and every like people just flocked to him right and would just ask him questions. He would come to our ham fest

and it was just like an entourage. People would follow him around and ask him questions. I mean, it was it was something to see. And Bob was one of those guys where he knew he knew his stuff, and you looked at him and all I all I could think about was this is a living legend right here. Like you know, as much stuff and knowledge I can absorb from him, the better. And he was just an all around great guy. Contributed to the Hobby, contributed to Saint Louis Amateur Radio.

You know the things in the stories that he has. I mean I remember sitting in a room with him, probably ten years ago, and he was just telling me rock and roll stories of him. You know, Hob nobbin with with people that are our legends in the music business, and they know him by his first name, and you know, they call him up and hey it's Bob. They know it's Bob Hyle. So he was a great guy. Absolutely. I only had I I had a chance to meet him one time. Well, no, I think I met him twice,

but I don't think I talked to him except for one time. But the most memorable time for me was apparently he and Roger at Arnel were good friends. And uh, Roger calls me up one day and he's like, hey, we got this this that new pro system, which I don't think I have it back there anymore. The Parami, Yeah, it's behind my new Saint sign Parametric paramis Chick receive audio system, the Hile pro system when that

was brand new. Roger called me or he emailed me, I think, and he's like, hey, do you want to review one of these? I'll send you these one he goes, I can get a lot of Hile stuff. I'm like, okay, cool, this is a uh this is Ahile Mike pr thirty and I've talked I've been using this in the shack for probably five years as well. So I got the pro system and I was tinking around with it and I'm like, okay, I think I understand how to do this, this and this and then uh, and I email Roger.

I was like, I got a couple questions about I don't even remember what it was now, this was like three or four years ago. And uh, He's like, okay, let me see if I can find the answers to you. And I get a call one afternoon. My phone rings. I'm like, who is this? And I answered is Bob? Hile he called me, He's like, hey, what questions you have about the promises? I'm like, dude, I was like, okay, so wasn't expecting you to call me, but so we talked for fifteen to twenty minutes.

Very approachable guy, nice, really down to earth, you know, of course, you know, in he get he's like, well, this is my phone number, you know, keep my phone number. Call me anytime you want to. And I don't think I ever called him, but but yeah, just very approachable, very hopeful, very knowledgeable of course,

real nice dude. I have a funny story that I just remembered. So I got my pro six headset and I bought it from Hile Sound, you know, and they had to pick up a local pickup that you could go pick it up in Bellevillellinois. That's where his his shop is at. So I rolled over there and picked it up. Knocked. You know, it's just this house. It doesn't even say how sound on it. It's just it's like literally a house. And I'm like, am I in the right

place. I knock on the door. The door opens. It's Bob and I'm like, I'm here to pick up my head said. He's like, yep, Kyle, I got it right here. And this is you know, before I had had any or much interaction with Bob, and we sat there and talked for twenty minutes about him, radio and whatnot. And yeah, I was just surprised that Bob answered the door answered I was probably his

house, probably come on down. Oh my god, Bob, Bob and I. So I have to blame Bob for my my current status because, like especially w Zo Tripley, like he he brought us onto ham Nation when I was I could not grow a beard like the pictures of you on YouTube at that stage of your life story. It was like episode number was that.

I think it was like fourteen fifteen. It was pretty early, and it was like Youth and the title was Youth and ham Radio and w ZO Tripley got on and it's like my beardless double chin like like goofy smile and Bob's interviewing us and they've had he's just been the most generous, like so on behalf of Youth on the air, like who Hyle sound has has been a sponsor and uh the Hamrydo Club at Missouris and t like to zero ec Eco like he's been the most generous, the most like like ask him a

question, he'll give you like a story, not an answer, but a story. Right, And and to Kyle's point, like people will trail him like like Roadie's even if it's the same thing that you've heard a hundred times, like he he always did his like two microphone demonstration. He always did

his amazing thing. We all know that so well, but we still go in, we still go and see it and it's still like, man, somebody here is like learning something new, even though like I knew this the whole time, but like Bob taught me that I knew this because he taught me that and it was worth listening to a million times over. I'm sure. Yeah, man, I miss him so much. It's like it sucks.

But like even when you had such a little, like a tiny amount of time with him, like like you changed, like it changed something in you. There was a funny story I had it like it had no relation to him radio. But I was wearing a Hile Sound t shirt from Yoda Camp that we got, and I went to Cole's looking for a suit or not Coals. I think, uh, what was it? Might have been Coals or might have been Macy's. No, no, no, it was like it was a big box like Bules. Maybe Nah, it was one

of those things. Anyway, I'm wearing my Hall shirt and the guys there like, do you know Bob, And I'm like and I'm like, yes, oh yeah, I know. Bob was like he gets his suits here, so you know he wears the purple suits all the time. He gets his suits at that at that place rack. I'm like looking for just a plain blue suit, but I see a rack of like bright blaze orange, purple, bright blue, royal Nate, like all of the all of the crazy colors, the dumb and dumb from the right. Yeah, yeah,

this suit guy dumb. He knew his old family. And I was like, gets there, and I never did. But it's just a wow funny that's crazy. Yeah, Samson, it was way off, Samson. I wait, it was that John Dimver's Foolished Man. That's a good one of the greatest quotable movies of all time. So one of Bob's donated PR fourts is still old and strong at the ham Radio Shack at Triple Nice. That's what I wrot. I got Yeah, he uh, I don't. It

wasn't No. Ash sent me one of those before Huntsville Hamfest two years ago. I think it was two years ago. Oh, I remember that you had that set up there. Yeah, and I had that set up at the table and it's and it's still in my it's still in my f T D X ten case. So I've I lost the I've got the boom somewhere. I lost the boom, so I haven't used the mike in a while, but the mic is perfectly good. It's and I was like, oh, I want to upgrade my PR thirty and Bob and Ash were both like,

no, no, they're basically the same thing. You just one of them has more highs than lows or something. I don't remember what they said, but they were like, no, that's that's not really an upgrade. And I'm like, radio, it's not really, it's gotta, it's gotta, it's got a well I was losing. I was well, I was using it for I was wanting to upgrade my shack for the for YouTube really, but they were like, I'm like, it's got a bigger number. It's got to be better, you know, PR forty, PR thirty.

Yeah, that's what marketing is all about, right, right, right, So I don't know the end, right, yeah, plus to the end. Yeah that's good. Uh all right, let's kick it over to Steve Man. It's definitely two boops at Orlando, not Orlando, Dayton, Huntsville size. It's it's huge. And that's just the radio section inside the new store. Yeah, that is just the radio section. Uh. When I left at six today to go to the Huntsville Club meeting before jumping on here, they were just finishing up the telescopes and the

camera section photography. Sorry, wow, mm interesting. Yeah, it's fifty When I say fifty five thousand square feet, and I'm hoping I've got that right, I want to say it is fifty five thousand square feet. But if you saw, if you read the press release, you saw the you know, I know I'm wearing my gigapartsure and I'm making fun of the as I call it, the YouTube video of South Park in gigabart style, but you know, like it says astronomy, aviation, photography, makers, treasure

hunting. They're there and it's a lot. I know some people are coming in next week for the soft opening two, do some videos, do some whatever they're going to do next Saturday's grand opening. But but I am going to I'm going to Huntsville early next week. And uh, I have I haven't announced this yet, but here we go, ready to hear it. only way I could drink and you can't taste That is crazy. I should not expect that with licorice blood. The next time we're all together, I will make them and you will love them. I swear to God. I'll try it. I'll try. Don't try, Adre just I like I like tomato, cuts away the licorice, but I don't want that. I like I like the tomato. Yeah, bloody Mary is probably my favorite mixed drink. time I tried this. The first time I tried it was the recorded live stream that it just gave me, like the next you're Tommy, tom No, no, why, I'm not going to pretend it's a good whiskey. It is a whiskey that has been flavored. It's rebably a garbage whiskey, no question. But hey, peanut butter whiskey is fantastic, though so gross there. Bring it to me, Freddy, I would take it. I

think I would. I would paste myself better with the dill whiskey if that's all I had versus the peanut butter, because I'll end up drinking too much of the peanut butter. Dude, the peanut butter is like I need to take a bottle of the peanut butter whiskey and split it into seventy five little one ounce bottles and hide them from myself around the house so I don't drink

it too. That's a little because, oh my god, get you get two bottles, you get real drunk on the first one, and then you hide yeah, distri and then it's a little surprise every time you find. That's a great day, that's a great week. Oh my goodness, thank you for the super Steve. Steve. Yeah, all right, but I want to say, if you're in the DFW area, or if you can get Three Nations beer, the Sucker Punch, watermelon, Berlinervice is that's one of them. That's one of my wife. Passion food or dragon fruit or something like that. I don't remember.

The clear gummy bear is someone's favorite gummy bear? Yeah? Mine, the the the golden bear one, the one that's like the black forest bear or Horibos Horribo's gold the clear one that's like pineapple flavor or something like that. It's really good. No, No, the yellow ones, like were you a starburst yellow kind of guy? What a weird? Okay, thank you. When drinking pickle whiskey, I'll try anything, and it's not that bad. I think too much. There's too much. I would try it,

but I don't think that would like it though. Okay, has anybody had like a tough morning and you drink a little of the pickle juice a little bit, I can inhabit. But I mean, yes, if you can make a bloody marry with pickle, if you can make a bloody marry with that with a spiced pickle whiskey, yes, the best bloody one of the best blood marry I've ever had was with the pepper flavored absolute.

It's a whole day event where you go to lots of classes, particularly on you know, being active and d X and d expeditions, being a chaser of all that. Uh, there

are you know, Allocraft will be there among many other vendors. There's a breakfast, there's a dinner. I'll be m seeing the dinner for the awards. I'll be there the whole weekend. We'll be making videos and stuff. But here's the big draw. Yes, there is a cost to come to this event. There's sure she can get and all kinds of stuff that gets kind of baked into the cost. But this has I think the largest giveaways of any Hamfest. They're over fifty thousand dollars of ham radio equipment. They're

report your information to the air. Please do that because this is what they're scraping for information during that time period that they're going to use for science. So what modes are they actually everything whisper and F anything that is sticky. Anything that's sticky you can pull data from F eight. But if you think about this in a in a stem sense, right, we're the sensors.

We're literally in our stations. However they're set up that how they're set up with antenna's all that stuff that the variety of that is, you know, something that's considerable but not important. In this case, we're the sensor that is either sending out data or receiving data. We need to make sure we

get that data uploaded to the Internet. So if you are planning to go to a really nice field out in the middle of nowhere, that's great, but you may not have the best internet access, so at least make sure you know, however, you can try and have that active Internet connection so you can upload it coming up on March. But well, and they've got

they've got monitoring stations to that are monitoring a chef though. Yeah, but but but that again, that's that's physically local, right, and so that doesn't describe differences in propagation if they can't hear the station, right, Yeah, well it's it's it's it's local as far as chef is local. So this is actually something even travel wise, if you can't fly on a plane, getting into the totality area is something you can only experience this once in your lifetime, your kids' lifetime potentially. This is actually a big deal as far as stem greens are concerned. Yeah, totally.

Yeah. Some of what's really cool is a couple of the airlines right that are planning flights where you can fly along the path and get like the maximum totality experience camera from the windows in your in your play, the people on the left, people on the left extra for the on the other side, discount extra extra dollars for the vomit comet. Oh, could you imagine totality,

and then they fly back the other way in totality. Because it's a plane, it can go fast, so like each side gets an equal amount of time. You have to turn that plane around in two minutes, though, I think totality is only four minutes long. No, you're in a five hundred miles an hour in the direction of the sun. You can they fly with the path. Oh, I see what you're backround. I see what you're saying. We have totality. We have Dallas to Pittsburgh, we

have Austin to Indiana, and we have Saint Louis to Houston. I think how many how many tickets do you have left on those planes, Shane, I have not. He's got a booth he said we could set up in his booth. I signed up to teach my claud to do my forum again, which is basically just uh Ham

radio versus everything. It's basically radio, just a radio form. I kind of compare Ham radio to GMRS two CB. And it's not it's not a hey, we're better than you type thing. It's it's here's there's usefulness to everything, and here's the usefulness of all services, that kind of thing, same thing. I've done it for the last two years, so it's it's, uh, I've upgraded a little bit, but not much, just kind of the same thing. But but yeah, so we're gonna have a freaking

cool Ham radio presence at that event this year. So it's it's gonna be fun. And there's like twenty photoparks within a reasonable drive even with me driving a reasonable amount. And there's a new BUCkies in Springfields, is there really? Yeah, just built it brand new, the latest Bucky is built. Mike. Mike was concerned because I'm not taking my RV's like I got want to go. And I did a review today on a micro mini mobile call. The brand name is Herry hero yas really very Japanese. It's a train wreck really is totally of a radio. Yeah, I think it's a Japanese name, but it's made in China ironically, so nonetheless you got to see that's very totally

went sideways on me. So but been messing with the all Scan, like I was saying at the end of Josh's Life livestream, having a lot of fan with fun with that. But I met up with a guy November one, Alpha Charlie Chart. His name is Howard Quimby. He's out of Virginia. He made a little alteration, made his own little page, but you

can also embed it into the all Scan main page. So if you're running to dv switch server on your all Star node to do cross mode to analog to digital, if you do that on DMR, he's got a little ad on there that were that allow you to change the taut groups on the fly. You can even do it on your phone through an interface. You set it up right. It's you know, it's not for everybody, but it's an it's a nifty little dingus, as the man would say. So two

on there? Maybe stat reporting, Maybe maybe there's maybe you guys have you guys are all twisted in the way you think, and I'm right there with you. But maybe he's got TVs behind the mirrors in the bathrooms and it's something that's actually useful. There's cameras in the bathroom. There's cameras or there's cameras in the bathrooms. I got to do a poda. But I need to I need to re put some screws in my Diamond K four hundred mountcas. My atoss wasn't tuning very well. I put new screws in because the ones that came with it got stripped. So I went to ACE Hardware and got some but they're like just I don't know whatever kind of metal rusts, so they're resting now. So I wasn't getting a good tune. I got tuned up on twenty great, but then it kind of died out for me and tried different bands and

it wouldn't tune, and so I got to fix that. But that'll take all about three minutes. I've got a I've got a really cool battery from uh no way impossible, I know, right, How does the smoke and ape say at ridodio. It's a couple extra letters, ridotto. It's uh so like everybody's worried about, like lithium iron phosphate batteries with low temperature charging protection. But low temperature charging protection is great. It prevents you from charging

the battery when it's cold. What if you need to charge your battery this thing, right, which probably happens a lot. Yeah, so this one, this one actually is self heating when you plug a charger into it and it's below Are they doing that now? That's yeah, I've had that. I've had that for a few months. It's below zero degrees or zero degrees celsius below, it's shut up, right and it doesn't start charging again until it gets to five degrees celsius. That's pretty impressive. Awesome. Reenergy has

one like that too. They're pretty cool. Yeah, so this is this is pretty cool it and it just charges it up and I've done a couple of charge cycles on it. I gotta do one more and then I actually have to, you know, film a video for it. But I'll be doing that. I'll probably do a couple more videos on the fifty because there's really not a lot of videos on that radio. And I am absolutely in love because of Digital Rancher. It's all his fault. It is just I

love it. I love it. I've got I've got a cool new antenna. Imagine that from Australia called a mad dog antenna. It's a it's just another coil antenna, but it's pretty neat, really really good quality. Is it kind of like an outbacker? Uh no, it's it's it's wolf he coils, but it has like a solid metal foiler. Oh gotcha, gotcha. So it's like our ham's old enough to know the outbacker in this chat,

like Jason, isn't it the taps? Yeah yeah that's a funny Oh yeah yeah of course, yeah yeah yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, the better route. I know that you've been around longing enough know about the outbacker. Yeah. It's a great antenna too. I mean there's a lot of love it. Yeah. Oh, that's kind of neat, Like it's awesome, Like, you know, we all make our own versions of go boxes, and you know you'll see a lot of just let's let's get a rat case and put

radios in it. You know. I tried to be a little different in in the way I made my G ninety go box, But just the creativity you see at this thing with with the different ways that people, excuse me, make him radio a portable, It's it's really fun. The ideas alone should be just worth their weight and go just right every Yeah. Yeah, it's one of my favorite video series to watch. Who ever posts anything from here, because I get lots of ideas from what you do I I love

Antenna's work a lot better outside. Well, then we know who the winner is going to be, right, it's the people

that have a waterproof go box. Park your car there, say, my my car is my go kid, I drive it. There is a mobile category. Yeah, mine will not be winning it. There's some really cool there's some really cool setups with with some guys cars there. Truck. Yeah, Mike, we should we should have Shane on it, you know. On the after chat on the Hamer the crash course, Shane had some thoughts on your mobile install. He was like, you know, we can, we can, we can. We can make it a lot cleaner. We
