You can catch all my videos on YouTube Ham Radio two point zero and catch us live every Sunday night at seven pm Central Standard Time for a different topic each week. Thank you for the support and thank you for being a member of the community. Okay, we're gonna get started. I hope
you guys enjoyed Kyle's trivia. I heard somebody had the name of where did Jason go? And the answer to that is the airport, went and picked my wife at the airport, so that's where I was. And then I thought I heard somebody with the name of ham Radio two in Cahut as well. That was not me. But you could tell that was not me because they were actually answering questions correctly. So Uh, I appreciate you guys joining tonight. That is always a fun time on the Happy Hour, and uh
we're just gonna go ahead and bring everybody on here. I tell you what, man, this four K capture card or this this four port capture card with the multi view on the port on the on the one port, there'szzo, there's Chuck is pretty slick because I can output to OBS and zoom at the same time. Who'd have thought? Who'd have thought that was possible? All right, okay, guys, we are live. What's going on everybody? What's the capture card? What are you talking about? The Algato capture
card. Did you have the the PC one that goes in the PC with the four ports? Yeah? Killer, it's the thing ever, Yeah it is. I bought it like three months ago and installed it two days ago. If you ever use those stupid dongles, once you get up of like two of those dongles, freaks out and nothing works. The computer freaks out. If you have another brand, yeah, apture card installed, it won't
work. So I'm like, so that's why it took me so long to buy their four port their PC I Express card, because I'm like, well, does this thing freaking work? Because yeah, I mean, the dongles are great on the laptop where you just got when camera to run, but yeah, on the setup I'm running, no, thank you. So if you are serious about live streaming and you want to do multi feed, go get the four port PCI card for your computer. You will not. It's
expressive. It's like I have three computer you will not regret it. Mike's running a MAC. So here's the thing I was talking about. So Port one HD. My port one is called multi or it says multiview or something. It comes up in OBS and it's hold on, I'll tell you what it's what it says, I tell you what. I tell you what cam Link pro HD my one multiview. Well, you know what multiview does. I just figured this out tonight. Multiview spits out my video to two applications
at one time. So I had my video from one camera in zoom and in OBS at the same time, so I can totally switch back and forth. There. I am right there. Hey, how you doing now? Oh you guys are muted because there's no audio stream on this one. And then I can bring you all back in right there, and it's the same camera. If you do OBS funny business though you don't want to use multiview,
it doesn't if you're using OBS, just go straight through OBS. Well, that that's what I'm well, what do you mean straight through OBS? What do you mean by that? The virtual camera on OBS? Uh? Well, but I've allows me to do scene switching and all that, like, yeah, well no, I'm just going straight. I'm going straight into zoom with my camera and then I can Yeah, I could do the virtual camera. I think about it. I don't. That's what I'm doing. That's how I used to do it. But no, this was this was
pretty cool. What is What does Carlos do? Oh that's Carlos. Carlos. He changed his call sign. Let's see we can hide on videos. I think somebodys saying to pick up your audio a little bit. Jason, you're a little quiet. He's not quiet. It's just we're all loud. Yeah, no, it's probably I know what it is. I know what it is. Uh inter inter derogatory windows comment here. Yeah, yeah, it changes. It changes my time. It changes my not every time,
not every time, but it does. It changes it by itself. It'll drop my mic down about I hate it? Yeah, freaking windows man. Okay, all right, so let's go around the room. I want to uh, I want to welcome. Well, okay, let me give a shout out to everybody in the chat in green text all the YouTube channel members, thank you for joining tonight. Guys. See there's Evan in there with a take everyone, take note of big gamjeam shirt. Okay, big Gm, it looks like it looks like Star Trek. I don't know. Uh
it's Illinois. It's not a Columbia shirt. I know that throws some of you guys off. Yep, so still blue Uh yeah yeah, still it's so where did I go with that intro? I was, yeah, shout out to everybody green text and the chat YouTube channel members, thank you for being here tonight. I was at the beer store yesterday and they had a pickle beer and a spicy pickle beer, and I thought I should have bought
that but for super chats. But and then I thought I should buy a six pack of that and send it to Josh because I think he might like it. So it just gets off and then I and then I thought yeah, and then I thought to myself, how can we So here's a reach out to the community. Uh, opportunity right here. How can I get how can we find another ghost pepper? I p a because that one was actually pretty darn good. It was good and spicy, Yes, yes it
was. And I thought that was pretty tasty. So if anyone knows about a ghost pepper, I pa, please share it, hit me up in discord. I'm drinking. It's got to be a good one, like good. It can't be like Sculpin, the hobb and aerow Sculpin. It's not very good. Like it's it's not good. Right. I've had some abbin.
I've had some aubernuro beers that were pretty good. It went an ipa though, I think it was just a pilsner with aub and euro in it, and it was like they wouldn't serve you more than like a four ounce four. Yeah, I'm talking about like ballast point they mass produced. No, that one's no good. That one's I've tried that one. It's not good. But yeah, anyway, So if anyone knows about a legit ghost pepper, I p a then because Josh had one and we drank it on
stream. But I guess they're not doing it anymore. I don't know. Uh no, I don't know about anymore. They just didn't do it this year, and I don't Okay, they didn't give me a good reason as to why. But they also said, like it's not something that's gone forever, it may come back, and I'm like, oh, they come back. Okay, well if it comes back O great, great temporarily seasonal right, Yeah, that's it. That's it. What's up, Shane, Okay, let's uh, let's I'm want to welcome the new guys. Got a
couple of new guys in tonight quick. K zero lw C is on FT eight right now. Every ready to go? Ignore him? Side step that comment, Eric, what's going on a whole lot, Jason, Like you know, Todd mentioned earlier, we were doing a you know, a park or seven Park Rove today, so a little tired from that, but yeah, at our weather for sure. Well good tell me. Okay, so tell us about your and I'll let he's in there. Yeah he's I saw him a second ago. He's in there. I'll let both of y'all speak,
But go ahead and tell us about your channel real quick. Yeah, might well. We actually got two channels with the one that Jason and Kyle were on as our Liffrey and Ham podcast channel. We just got that started going. We tend to just focus on things in New England in general, but we're always open to bringing people outside of New England. But you know, we want to kind of make New England known in terms of Ham Radio and you know, just kind of spread the message and you know that's kind
of where we're going. So it's been fun so far, and we're having a lot of guests on and you know, so we got a podcast going, but we're definitely yeah channel side of it. But overall, good cool man, good podcast. Yeah, appreciate to y'all letting us be on there last week and talk on there. So that was fun. Thanks for joining men, appreciate you being here, Uh, Todd, if you want to go next, you can. Yeah, it was great having you guys on.
It was a it was a good uh, it was a good uh stream or whatever, and uh, you know, we had fun doing it and uh, you're you kind of motivated Eric and I and we kind of looked at the weather and I'm like, hey, it's gonna be nice Friday, and uh we both took off work and we just got down to the got down on the coast and just worked our way up and uh finished at your favorite park in New England. So uh, it was good. And then we got kicked out the guys like you gotta leave, and oh we
got kicked out too. You did like five o'clock guys like, yeah, guys, just like I know what you're doing. You gotta go exactly you talk about the new the new Hampshire Park. Where you talking about the main park? Oh, the main park? Yeah, yeah, we were well, we were We were walking out and some guy asked, hey, you guys doing ham rad And we sat there and talked to him for a few minutes, so we actually knew what we were doing. That was fun.
Well, we thought the guy was. We thought the guy was coming over to ask us about what we were doing, and he was like the park ranger. But what was he in? Like shorts and a short range He he came he uh drove up in a Mazda Miata. They were like for the job. He pulled out one eight right that sounds like yeah, it sounds like Monta Sando. Yeah, I got this race. Good job. That's good. That is that is real good. So well good, well, thank you thanks to both of you guys for being here tonight and having
us Yeah you bet, yeah, good to good to see you. Shane. You're a fairly new I don't think you've been on a happy Hour before. If you want to introduce yourself, you're welcome to Okay, just to clarify, what Shane, are you talking to you? The new Shane? Yeah, new Shane. So sorry, Yeah, if I'm talking to if I'm talking to Shane, he'll know it. He does have that new smell. Yeah, yeah, the new Shane Sheen. What's going on, buddy? How are you? What's that? What's going on? How are you?
I'm doing fantastic? Yeah, thanks for having me on tonight, you bet you. I also wanted to put out there as well that I had an absolute blast me. Oh okay, he must have not had that fun at time. Wow, proper to stop. Yeah, and you hear me, Shane, Sorry you dropped Bud. If he wasn't running a motorola, he wouldn't have had that problem. Shots five shots. We gotta bring u. We got to bring eight back on and do some motorola testing with. I love how people freeze at the most the most time. Yes, yeah,
none of us are going to like hide his video or anything. We're not gonna do any favors at all. I did. I did test my motorola and it was very clean. It was very but obviously as you got on your video, a lot of people commented, well, so many cimeters. They're not required to meet spurious emissions requirements, like, yeah, they're not required, but we as hands are supposed to make sure we're not creating interference. Guys. Correct, No need your mom to tell you not to
spuriously emit. Yeah, that's one question I ever thought that I have to ask my mom buying clothes. You're not supposed to be spuriously omitting here, Josh at that one of them. Get your spurs in your pockets. Son, It wasn't there. Carlos with your radio, not with your spurs. Car here. Oh my my wife is in the chat. Go Rangers, She says, yes, the Rangers. Yeah, faces are loaded, they are down by one. But basically I just want to mention everybody in Texas.
Remember that World Series where Texas played the Saint Louis Cardinals. No, and yes you guys lost. Yes, probably even something like that, Yeah, something like we're not going to comment on Carlos with the exact same shirt on every hangar in his closet right now? Oh my god, well, no uniform. Yeah, he's at the now, he's he's in an empty hammer video. Shoot, that's wrong. It was the wrong button balloon pants. I was gonna say, that's that looks like Michael Jackson thriller video apparel.
I don't know, you know, that's just I don't know. That's that's good, That's kind of what I'm thinking. Here we go, There we go go Rangers. Oh wait, there's one eyeballs one ball. Oh yeah, he's in front of the camera. Outfits she used to wear? Or what? Yes? Car Vanilly? Uh so yeah, Digital rancher, Rob, you're in the chat, right, but I don't remember if I actually added you to the email to the group. You've got him what, I'll send him a link. Well he has the link. But my point
is he's invited, so he might have missed out on the invite. So anyway, he doesn't discord like all the cool kids. He's in discord. Yeah, but he's just he's in it. He's in there more than Ka is. So he's got a discord. Okay, Well they are in my after chats on a lot of drive bys. He'll come through dropped something, you know, golden, and then he's out. Mike's a crap tester. I want to come right and then close the app. I don't want to
I have all servers muted. Yet every now and again, I'll still hear that stupid a little beep when you get a message. I can't figure it out. Okay, wait, I'm not surprised. Never mind, I get it again. We're talking to obligatory the program and obligatory Mac comment insert here. Boy, I've already dogged. I've already dogged on Windows and with you on Windows. Man, Max, this is not a Mac problem. So what is? So? What is? What does Apple produce? Apple produces
users who can't use their computers. Almost said something, really, power user, I use everything? Stop. Yeah no, no, I don't think so. It's just just wrong, just wrong, just wrong. Yeah, if you were a power user, you'd use your Mac with with command line nos in Linux command. So that unless I'm a Linux listen here, mister, mister a mighty different. You're gonna have to You're gonna have to. You're gonna have to. You're gonna have to clarify who you're talking to.
Their Carlos. Oh okay, Windows open in my Mac and you know what, I get all my work done. Well, then you are an unusual Mac user because most of them don't know where the terminal prompt is. So it's like space bar t. So now it's a Scotsman argument. I opened Vinci Resolve and I have dipped my toes into the fusion page. Well, the world's going there, So that's going from a O L to what MindSpring? Very good sweep. Yeah, you couldn't even that wasn't even a good
burn. That was like the match started to light. Anyway, Anyway, you can totally mute discord if you want to easily. So I have my mutch, but I have my I have my notification for its for its, uh, I have mine. I have mine for the visual notifications. When when I get tag, you will do a life never on my channel where we can teach me how to do that, call j S a call and setting up Mike's discord, running running a p r S with j S a
call on Mike. Yet, so I've got here's the other thing. And I want to be very clear, I have never said I'm a smart guy. Ever, I'll give you advertising. I've got the tiny s A Ultra on my table there, beautiful device, and I have tried to watch every video on YouTube, including urine ape stream just the other day. You're an ape yours alone. He's a urine ape. My number one is that the number one show prom everything. Those are the spurious emissions we're looking for spirit
Mine. Mine's just different. Mine is different than everyone else in the world. And I got it from Rnel literally, Mike, I did a video on the Ultra. No, but you mine, I have it. When you go to measurements for like spurious emissions and harmonics, when you type in the frequency and you hit the m M, I have another screen side. You have to ate your firmware, and even then you might have the same
updated dog. Yeah, it's probably watch the watch them all. I want to give a shout out to Jason's with with Apes video that you guys did. Good job. I highly recommend you get the ultrif you have it, totally do it, man, because because emissions testing, you get like three harmonics, three to four harmonics off of two off of two meters alone without having to go high low. That is a game changer for a lot of
the videos we do. It's so much better, so much better. That's like one hundred and seventy five bucks Josh cost me and I can't use the damn thing. Okay, we'll do it. We'll take an offline. Well, I can help you. I'll figure out make it happen. Let me go nugget it at my house two weeks ago, and you couldn't tell me how to use it. We didn't have enough time. Brother, shouldn't be that hard. He doesn't give out the knowledge for free. He wants to
make content on it. He's gonna nugget make a video about it and about everything. I shouldn't. It should not be that hard. It should not be that should not you're overestimating who I am. No, they shouldn't say it shouldn't be too hard. She said, it should be much harder. I said, overestimating it should You're right, it shouldn't be that hard. Mike. I'll get on a zoom call with you and I'll look at it. Would you look at it? We just looked at it. Just look
at it. I just looked at its work. Now look at this? Look at that? Mike? Are you having fun? Mike? Are you having fun? Fun? I finally got a beer after Kyle's live streams, and now I'm having fun. This was killed with Jamison. This is just water mm hmm, as as as it should be. I guess I drink. I drink two or three of these a daysh Are you bored? Josh, Gosh needs attention. I'm trying to figure out what to do with my scenior. I don't like it tomorrow, but I'll be dressed up for tomorrow.
Gosh, here you go, you're backwards. I worked. I do want a mug really bad. Do you really have like eleven or twelve of those? Kyle? I do stack them all up and just take a picture and send it to Josh. You should, I should? Yeah, the bandolier of mugs. Actually, I think I have gotten rid of quite a few of them because I'm rid of them. I'll send one such a flex. Oh my god, that's such a flex. I'll send one to you on the model which clean? Which clean sweep? Is that steaks? Okay?
This is he's talking about his colonoscopy. What gets you a clean sweep? Yeah, colonoscopy and in the same twenty four hours as your contest, the colonoscopy and working all the A R L sections and the Canada sections. Probably somebody so section is just the ten digits of the so you know. In Field Day Rights, Texas, South Texas So the one of the the exchanges in sweep steaks is the sections, and you work every single one of
them. The hard ones are like like Yukon and but there's all always like a couple of people that are on from like Yukon or noon Avt and you know those weird Canadian sections. A flex of a picture of your flex up there and you can double flex with your stuff there. You should. Yeah, this does prove that PODA is not a contest, because I don't know anything about contests. If pod was a contest, I would at least know
something. Are there people that are actually making that argument that is a contest. Yeah, they're called they're called no, they're called q r Z users. Yeah, I got it. Serious a contest I've had. I've had a couple a couple of times when I was like on seventeen meters doing PODA that some some old fart would come on and be like, you're not supposed to be contest. It's your workman, Oh right, hear me contest? Yeah, well that doesn't necessarily meanything. Yes, okay, we can hear
it. I mean, I mean, worked all worked, all states, is not a contest. Don't need your opinion States and certificate. Who said worked all states was a contest? I was, I was joking about PODA. I said worked all states as a contest. The SEC is a contest context Okay, yea. I think we had we had this discussion on another live stream of mine a couple of weeks ago, and I don't remember. I think someone else said it. I think someone else said it, and then I I, I agreed with him. I said, that is that's
that's correct. The most the most accurate way I've heard it is that PODA has no start and stop time. It's like, well, you're you're, you're, you're getting points and you're submitting logs. Well, okay, but there's no starting stop time. That's right. It's not. It's not right. It's not. There's no starting stop time, so there's no date. This it's like during uh, during the QSO parties. Texas Quo Party is
weird some of them. You guys, you guys tell me these and uh and if this is true or not, but Texas Quo Party is like twelve hours and you have to take six hours off then it's the next six hours or something weird like that. It's it's just a two day but you can't work. You can't work the full forty eight hours though. You have to take a break in the middle, and they and if you don't, then they take out logs of yours that you work. You know, Texas always
looking to regulate the living deal. Toy man, that's not true, but okay, so uh, I guess Carlos was restricted from jumping out of a plane somewhere over Texas at once in his life. So with good reason. They said, too many jumps already. You gotta sit down, Yeah, you gotta sit down. Yeah. Yeah, he's got the Rangers. So yeah, I don't know. Yeah, no Paris uh uh. In N six k V, Chrisy's asking where Frank is. Frank, Frank is at
a haunted house. Frank is at a haunted house tonight, Hornfield's jumping out of shadows. He's the apples. I'm pretty sure they hired him. I'm pretty sure they hired him for the haunted house. And he didn't tell me that. I don't know. Bobby Bobbin for both Have you imagine Frank comes out of the hanted house. They're just like, sir, your shift's not up right, scares. That's what he does, is all like all every minute of the entire shift is Kyle get into comments, ed have radio.
John is saying field Day is not a contest. Go get Yes, it is. It has a start and stop time, boom done over. It has points. Yeah, there are points and there's a winner, isn't there? Are you? You asked that? You asked that to any curmudgeon over the age of sixty. It's a contest. I got c W. I gotta work somebody c W contacts as possible. Well, they'll they'll tell me not a contest, but they're gonna work it like it's a oh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah yeah. It's an exercise an outdoor ham
radio that they do at home. This is the one weekend a year I go outside. I'm gonna work well out of it. Let's go. Are you making for a gym? He's right here on the start of the shop. That was it in the air conditioner? Jason? Do we get through all of the nubes that are on the call? I think so. Shane came back. Shane, how's your mic or how's your feed? Now?
You gott to hook up those Motorola mics Shane. Yeah, I'm I'm tethered to my mobile hospot right now because my internet is terrible and my roommate is a gamer. You're screwed. Yeah, just go to the circuit breaker and uh his roommate code for your mom. That's a good idea time for your own internet side boom with the comment I channel six the only kind I have this. This is happy hour, so I can say this. I know where Shane's mom is. She's she's not messing with his band with I'm joking.
I'm joking. Candy Crushes is pretty high on the bandwidth. I got more. You know. I wanted to tell you guys all became abruptly dropped off, is that I had an absolute blast meeting every one of you in person a Huntsville the past August. There was a lot of fun. I was, I was bad. I was due t R t Ray with t Ray fell down and was laying in the park. That's just a Tuesday. I was. Yeah, yeah, pulled the normal pull norms. Dennis was
feeling pretty liquid too. Yeah. First yeah, yeah, Dennis Denis he got mad at me because I broke up in some kind of alcohol that he was like, why did you open that bottle? And wouldn't have been that bad of a diet if I if you did open but then the second didn't you finished seventeen bottles going around? Okay, I gotta, I gotta. I've got an important announcement. I've got an important Californian putting somebody putting your decisions on somebody else. That sounds right. Uh So I got a really
I got a really important announcement here. Okay, here it is, Thank you, Shane, and you're you're welcome to talk more. Uh four hundred and seventy K six a r K antenna kits are inbown to Amazon y q RP and twenty wide. I'll be dropping my link to Amazon for all of you. So those links those from Amazon, I do too. And I just did a video last Friday using that Adam any any any chance on the real man antenna coming back real man? I think he means not QR the
hundred what version? Wow, you guys, tough crowd. I'm gonna go ahead and say, like, as far as like qualification of manliness goes, Adam is probably pretty high up there. He's pretty he does q r P. So we're okay. If I could say that, if I could get as high as Adam can get, then I would do q r P two. But Adam gets high more a lot more than I do. He uses literally, I'm talking about elevation and climbing mountains here, guys, what do
y'all think I'm talking about? And he brought us seventy three of the seventy there ones? Yeah he really, yeah he did. Yeah, yeah, he's a manly man. You know. I thought I did foolish, but my god, now you're actually Actually the seventy three hundred is not that heavy. I mean compared to Adams stuff, it is, but it's mount and the battery. The battery is the heavy part. I would jump with it. Check out, Hey, Carlos, check out the the f A P
F A C pack from a borrowstock. It's made for field radios. It's made for military guys. F A C. I think it's it's either yeah, it's f a the oldest pack. At first, I think it's f A P. Oh lord, oh yeah, no it's not f A P. I was thinking f A T in my head and it's not that either. I think it's f A C field accessible calms or something like that. You see that's a back. I need to be able to put strap such fits on my front. Well you can if it's got a waste, Carlos,
Carlos reverse, get one of those baby carrier things they put. Yeah, Carlos, Hill you looked up Hill people gear Have you looked up the Hill people gear chest harnesses? Have you seen those? Have not? He'll people gear chest brig there, I'm looking it up. You guys are saying stuff. I'm sorry, Carlos, you just fell into a big hole of money. Sorry, I need my button to say, let me spend your
money right now. You should. I just need a way of taking different packs in different radios up to the air because right now I'm limited on what I can take. Oh, I got you man, Just check out that website. You should. You should be giving him an affiliate link right now, Josh, I don't have an affiliate with any of these bag manufacturers. I wish I did get an eight ninety one. Carlos, we talked about that. Yeah, it's on my list of things to fifty if you want
to. I had the fifty seven. I sold it because it's too much temptation for me. I want to do you work this year and this year next year entirely q r P. Parish will completely q r P. And if I have one hundred what radio, I'm willing to use it. I am going to absolutely you go, that's the smartest that's the smartest comment that's been made on the stream tonight, which one. If I have a q RP radio, I'm going to use it. That's that's use it, right,
That's what I said. That's that's what I you said. Oh I meant to say. I meant to say. Okay, So if you have one hundred what radio, you're going to use it. That's hats to you, sir H seven five, which is q RP. I mean you you carried the small radio to hike up a hill, right, You are jumping out of a plane. You're literally not doing much work, right, so you should carry a hundred WAT radio. Go, I hear, Josh, I'm not. I have no desire to jump out of a plane. I
no desire of being able to fit it. That's the problem. It's all the matter of being able to fit it. Yeah, that's what the plane's going down. I'll jump out, Yeah, going down the smartest check wat Yeah, you got a perfectly good plane. Why would I jump out of it? Exactly? Uber existe uber says q r O or bust, which basically means he's got a four hundred what CBM? So yeah, pretty much that was four thousand. Shout out to Chuck. Good job at Pacific On
Man doing those videos. You were one of the few YouTubers out there. Dennis was there too. We hung out. I watched I watched all your videos man, good stuff, good stuff, thanks for doing it. My walk around was kind of just a walk around. The music was pretty hip though. Did you like the music? It was pretty somebody almost I know that. I just got to get off. I almost. I had a Yeah, it's the the all Craft. Yes, already it looks it looks pretty cool, super tiny. It's uh Friday. I can't. I can't
bring myself to buy on. I can't. I can't for some reason, I just can't. You can't hook. So who's got there? You can't hook at the note red It's it's what So here's the comments I got on my video. You guys can tell me if you agree with this or not. It's it's expensive it's allcraft. It's going to be expensive. I don't I don't necessarily have a problem if you buy the radio by itself. I was actually surprised the radio is only five hundred and ninety dollars. Yeah,
that's not bad. I mean I didn't think that was bad at all. Seriously, I didn't think that was five maybe five fift somewhere. It's less. Yeah, right, Well, this is allocraft. They modulize everything. Oh you want a microphone, Oh you want a power table, everything? Yeah, everything watching first good idea, but it sounds like, well, yes, it's it's much like Motorola too. So how much is more paper for the log? You can print it on your own? You can you
can print it on your own. There's a template print. So but but the but but the but the Some of the some of the more curious comments I've gotten have been around the fact that they purposefully left out the ability to do F T eight with it. It does because well and I'm not saying, I'm not saying, I huh, it won't do if it will, No, it will not not now, but that's a feature. It will it will, Okay, because it wasn't. It doesn't transmit sideband. So
Wayne was on the show last night. Yeah, I saw that notification. I didn't get a chance to watch itself spotting. It'll have of self spotting f T eight. They're working on that right now so you can. So that'll be a firmware upgrade. Yeah, yeah, okay spot with c W. Where's what is self spotting f T He said, I mean I don't I don't really care much about I don't care about self spotting. I mean I don't see that. Yeah t C fists with the super chat. Thanks
buddys and I hung out almost two days there. It was with lunch and but uh it was so so so so Jason says, llocraft owners are like SOB owners. I would say the more like Saturn owners. That disgusting. How dare you? How for you? But she me are well, but Saturn Saturn. But Saturn owners were proud to be Saturn owners back in the day that this doesn't exist anymore. But the fighter jet of cars right now was a piece of craft. It was not No. I know, I
know, I know. It's like saying a Dolorean is a good car. So I knew a guy. Blobs are expensive they're way more expensive than Saturns. Right, Oh well yeah, okay, okay, yeah, yeah, yeah, of course, of course, yeah yeahstic But okay, so what about plastic? What the Saturns made out of? Plastic? Yeah? Yeah, hey, I had I had a buddy in high school who had a firebird and it was plastic. The whole front clip was yes, remember those. So here's the one. So let's look at the competition for a c
W only radio, Like what are people going after. They're going after like they're trying to get their hands on a mountaintop or three band for the size, or they're getting a five band for four band, and those are three hundred and fifty dollars, three hundred close to four hundred dollars. They're about about yeah, yeah, they're about four hundred three eighty nine I think.
So. So then you add the all craft you know, price add to it, which includes a lot like it's literally recording your QSOs for you so you could actually download that after the fact. There's features you know added into it. And then they say, okay, well what's the point of this, Well, you know again, go watch go watch Chuck's video. Literally, this is the best one. Is where he interviewed Wayne, and Wayne's
like, I build the crap. I like to use which is the best co owner, like, co founder everything, that's what you want, He's like, I just build the stuff. I like. He's like, I want to stand up. I want to drop a radio, put an aerial up. I want a key CW. I want to pull put it back in and under a minute and be on my way. I think that's what the radio is die for. So let me let me make something perfectly clear. I think Ella Craft is a fantastic radio. Okay, all of the
stuff they've ever made, I think they're fantastic radio. I love the cakes. I have a KX three. I sadly I bought a Kicks one from t O I have I don't well yeah, because I don't know CW yet. It's the only radio that has a map light. Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah yeah. It's about yeah yeah, but you've got But I mean, I'm working on it. I'm working on it. I haven't built that yet. Then I'm gonna build that on a live stream. Actually, so
so let me let me let me just be clear here. Okay. I love Allocraft, I absolutely and I love flex Radio and part of the reason I love both of those, and not only because I think they're really good
quality, but they're made in the USA. Guys, how many how many comments do you guys get on your YouTube videos every time you revoo a bow, fang or t y T. You need to stop supporting the communists trying to use party, which I'm I'm in on paper, I agree with, but I'm like, Okay, then the USA needs to step up and start making stuff and you guys, and you guys need to shut the hell up about the price of it. Okay, So those two things have to happen
before we can get a replacement for a lot of this stuff. So I love the allocraft. It's probably never gonna happen. So the opposite, Okay, get the opposite where they're hardcore, like they love the Chinese radio so that they are really cheap, But then you have to explain why that's not actually good radio right exactly on the air. Yeah, yeah, get a tiny so uh, the Ultra Ultra, Get the Ultra. Yeah, the Ultra. But I'm just like, I'm like, you know, I I
love the allocraft. I just like you know, I thought it was those those are junk in the middle. Today, I think that the uh I think that the it just seems like, okay, so if they're gonna update that stuff with firmware thing, then great, great, wonderful. I'm excited to hear that. But I just I'm not trying to dog the cage one.
I ordered one. Also, Well, remember if there was a time, remember there was a time before soda and PDA where there was literally people that would take the eight seventeen, right, the eight seventeen has the BNC on the top of it for man portable, and they would literally put the thing around their chest and they'd hold it. They'd walk around and about, yeah, drag it a radio behind him man portable. So this is just what the that again, that's what this is. It's it's coming back of
that. But now that actually has a place before the eight eight seventeen was a radio that was almost too early for its time. Of course, it's still super popular. I've got the I've got the tech who has the tech prepper man pack for the eight seventeen, eight eighteen, I've got the right same same concept. I've got the man pack with the eight eighteen in it, with the INTENDA out the top, antena port out the top, and it's great, it's freaking awesome. So great radio, good, good execution.
But then now you take the KH one, which is like I don't know, a quarter of the size of the A the eight seventeen. Uh, just the radio right probably, and then you could you could hike all day with that. You could do multiple soda activations depending on where you're at. You could do a poda activation easy with it, depending again where you're at. And it's it's all right here. It's just for the guy that wants to stand up, be it done, undone, make four contacts,
get on the way done. That's what it's designed and for. It's designed for someone that just wants a spartan radio. Stand up, do the thing and get on your way. I think you're going to throw this out there, throw it out there. You can do all of that and more. Yeah, with a way less better receiver with these IGU X fifty. Sure. But but about QMX, the CW key is lacking. You get the N six a R a tiny paddle. Yeah. Oh, I see what
you're saying. I see what you're saying. The key in the fifty one oh five sucks and the the oh the software, Yeah, yeah, software. I was thinking that the software was lacking, not the key itself. But I have a fifty five, but I've never I've never done CW with fifty A lot of radios will do CW, but not all radios do it.
Well, there's a guy down there that i've that I've hiked with, yes, named Jerry, and he he and I went on a hike in Huntsville and he brought his X fifty one oh five and the dreaded m f J eighteen ninety nine t mm hmmmount counterpoise no, and was on CW making PODA contacts and he activated the park no counterpois counterpoise. Yeah. I set that up on my FX four c R on the beach in Galveston, and
I was making FT eight contacts, no no counterpoise. Literally just just I mean, like yeah, like, I mean, the X fifty is is an HT, it's got a PTT, it's got a microphone. Yeah, it's a good. Honestly, I think the FX four C series is a better one than the but that's pretty nic Yeah. Yeah, that's a radio, but it doesn't have it doesn't have an internal battery. It's yeah, it doesn't. It doesn't have a tuner like it's just a radio. But it's correct the FX four but it's got all the thing. But it's half
the size of a fifty five. So yeah, but then you got to bring all the other We got to bring all the crowd duct tape, man, duct tape it around. Put the battery on the back of it right that way, doesn't Yeah, go ahead, Shane, Go ahead, Shane. Remember remember the HT and the third Back to the Future movie where he taps the big battery on the back of the age. Yes, yeah,
yeah, And they could talk. They could talk all the way across They could talk all the way across the city on simplex V assuming it's VHF. And you know why because radio didn't exist back then. There was no r FI in that city. It would be great. All the neon signs, did it? Yeah? Right, yeah, they made a Oh my god, I don't know if I've ever seen that all the way it got released.
The third Back to the Future is the one in the past, guys, that's the one in the West. But two they were using those little walkie talkies, but they used the same thing. They used the same thing in three did they? Okay, yes, yeah, they built their own battery packs out of nine eighteen nine, eighteen ninety five equipment, so supposedly, huh the bunch of potatoes up together and yeah, something like that, the coconuts. So yeah, that's just point they got Marianda ride the bike
though, speak up? Done right? Yeah, so go ahead. I'm laughing here because I understand opinions were like noses, we do everything different. But digital rancher his has got it made in my opinion, of a guy who has a chest pack doing things. Oh yes, and that man is
not complaining. And he's here right now and he's not complaining about anything because the point the antenna up in the air touching the is he's falling from the sky at six one thousand miles an hour because he could reach up and shake Carlos's hand while Carlos is falling because he's like nineteen feet tall. Yeah, I feel all warm and slugsy every time he works me. I'm like, I don't know why, but gravity is less up there than it is. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, thank you, I got it. Hey,
I got a story for you guys. Okay, go ahead, Shane, go ahead. I'm gonna I want to let Robert toksins. We're talking about him. But go ahead, Shane, We'll let you go first. Okay, So talking about radios and stuff. We have a system here called the CAD computer ATE a dispatch which is connected to the system called CLETS, which is a law enforcement telecommunications system. It's the run driver's licenses and plates. Can you spell that? Yeah? D L E T S. Okay,
copy that, just check it silent? Yeah yeah, wow, go ahead, buddy, you're okay, you're right, Yes, we're all twelve. It's Friday night. Yeah. Yeah. So this is actually a news on the media right or a story on the media right now. But our District Attorney's office got hacked like there. They had a security breach, a fiber security breach, and our servers were connected to them, so we cut off their connection. But in that process it knocked out the CAT and THELET system.
So every officer and deputy in this county has had to run licenses and plates over the radio, every single person. It knocked it out county wide. Oh, we're doing it over a p r S though. So do they have to do? They have to vote for someone it would have worked better. Do they have to vote for somebody to be the commander? Plus, it's gonna be it's going to be a topic for the rest of the night. That's why I asked you to spell it it. It's gonna be
puns all night. I will I will keep my mouth showing that one. Yeah, don all right, let's give me let's let's give Robert the floor and I need to I need sure, let's let's hand Yeah, so that commander Robert, Yeah, let's but I need to let I need to let Freddie Mack talk as well. But Robert, we were talking about you so good aftern or good evening. How are you today? Hey, I am great. It's uh it's been a long week. This is much needed.
So uh good years and thank you everybody. Having a great evening so far. I picked up a K one radio at the Beltenham Expo a couple of weeks ago for Robert. He was like, hey, get that for me. I'm like, okay, I'll buy it for you. And I mean he paid me for it, obviously, But that's a neat radio. I can't figure out. I can't figure out what that. No, he's got it. I already gave it to him. Yeah, that's him, that's it right there, he just showed it to you. Joke. It was
a joke. Oh it's t o. I don't know. Sometimes with you, but very dry, very so. I can't figure out the difference other than size between the K one and the k X one because they're both c W only. Well, it's just the it's the passage of time. The K the K one is like one of the first Llocraft radios, right, but the k X one presumably was their first compact but that came up later. It came later, did it? Okay? Yeah, all right, all right? Said you can still buy the K one and the KIT now
too. I think that's true for the K two, the K two, you could still buy the K two radio, Yeah it is. The K two is an awesome radio. And the reason I know that is because n A Yo uses a K two and a lot of his photo activations on c W. It's a great rig. The K two is a freaking awesome rig. So we were talking about Llocraft a minute ago, and I'm like, I like alder stuff. I have a K a K three, a K three, not the s model. I have a K three and a K
X three and one of you. If one of you wants to donate a K four to me, I will take it me too, Me too? Yeah I did not. Yeah, yeah exactly, Carlos. I'll buy you one if you jump out of an airplane with it. How's that will? Yeah? It has to be working. It has to be working when you land. You can't land on it. I do that, boy. I tell you, whenever you buy one of these, uh these kit radios, you're always taking a little bit of a chance, right, And I know
what this one was for sale. They also had a K two kit for sale. Same guy, Yes, same guy, and he wasn't sure he had all the parts. But I was just excited when I saw that. I said, Jason, grab that. And then when I got it, I'm like, boy, I hope it was built by someone who did a good job, who knew what they was doing. I hope it actually works all the rest. Get it fixed. Have you tested it? Oh my gosh. I popped the lid on it and it's immaculate inside. Whoever built
this it was either fast rebuilt or they knew what they were doing. It was not factory built. It was built by a gentleman, and I forget the gentleman's call sign. He is a silent key now. And this guy was selling off a lot of his stuff and he said that he popped open and I probably didn't include this part on stream, but he popped open the K two which was only halfway built, and he supposedly had all the parts for it. But he's like, I think I have all the parts,
but I can't guarantee you how all the parts that kind of thing. But you can still buy K two's and the full kit from Alokrat. But he showed me the innards of the K two and he's like, this is the this is the quality of work that this guy does. And I'm like, okay, yeah that I felt good about buying it. At that point. I didn't buy the K two. I bought that one for you. But
it's the difference with allocraft. Some of the stuff is built and you're putting it together versus assembling some of the other stuff like that, right Heath kit stuff you build, every shame you built. Yeah, you wrapped the toroids and everything. I think when when they had the K three kits, I think it was just assembly. You didn't actually have to wrap anything or salt or anything. You just put it together like Legos two. There's there's some
things on la Craft's website where they remove the kits. You cannot buy them as kits anymore. Like the T one tuner that was a kit. You can't buy it anymore, right, correct. I think you can still buy the K two, But I think that's that the K three is gone. Can't said there's one. They still sell the K two. I watched the KO said it. I jumped online. I wanted to see what it looked like. And and it's in stock and it's ready to rock for fun little
radios too. I mean you run off a nine fold battery. They've got a hot receiver that's got great notch characteristics or lovely things. I had one in my hands for too short a period of time. HM. That's good to know. I just like I mean, like I said a minute ago, I think Allocraft makes an excellent, excellent product. I really do. I think all of their products are really good. It's just they're just good
radios. They just are. So I was away for a second, so I apologize, but I will add that I like that, as I mentioned earlier, like Wayne and Eric, they'd make the things they want to make. So they make quirky radios that have features that like the light, the little weird light on the KX one, all the stuff that's going on the KH one along with the KIS two and all that stuff like they are. It's not like a radio built by committee, which there's nothing wrong with that,
right. It's not like here's the whiteboard of the list of all the things we got to cram into this base station radio, go do it now. We got to get it done right, like a lot of the majors will do that. Allocraft's like, well, we got to do that if we can. But also I want to put you know, I want to put two and ten amounts on a QRP radio. One's going to be a vertical inten on, the other's going to be NC and then they're both work on the tuner. It's like, oh, okay, cool, that's wild
like that. They just make weird stuff like resonates with our hobby, it's just weird things. We love weird are You also mentioned that that rate is going to evolve too, because he's going to keep bringing stuff out to it. He goes actually puts stuff out that's not quite done yet, you know, like other companies. But there's stuff works. But you know you think, yeah, they put that K four out pretty early. I mean I say early. It was both early and late and uh and yeah and they
had some yeah, but they had problems. He is gonna all the craft is going to be on a race to beat Hans for firmware updates on all the things that he's doing QQ the QMX and the qd X and all that. I mean. But again there's I love my I love my Mountaintoppers. I like the Qmax, although I haven't built mine yet. I know, I haven't seen that. I know the fact that we we have a radio
that has I swear, I don't know. I don't know what it is about having a radio that has internal power, an internal tuner for QRP that you just you just you just take the thing and you take it outdoors and you do the thing. It's not a wire to a box that also has to come with you. And then oh I forgot an adapter, unscrewed power
splitter and all the rest. Yay, right, They're so like there's so let's just let's just go do the thing without like, I gotta check my checklist to make sure I hit all the bullets that I love about in turn. Like, that's why I like the seven oh five. It's got the power boom, it's right in there. If I give it more, it goes more power. If it doesn't, that's fine too. It's just like I love that is one of the checklists. One of the things the boxes
on the checklist is are my batteries fully charged? Well yeah, but yes, yes, yes, and and and honestly, that was my biggest thing against the k X two because for years you had to take the battery out of it to charge it. Right, Yeah, yeah, I didn't even I didn't care, Well you didn't care. I did. I did, because I think it's the speaker wire hangling, you know, lid all that horrible. But once you get the internal charging, it's it's a non issue.
Boom, You're done, charge it, You're great, You're set to go. I love that. It makes it makes radio easy on the can and the ca X three is like that, but you have to have an extra piece. And then, like I said, everything on the allocraft is modular. So you can. You can. You have to install the internal battery charger to charger batteries internally, otherwise putting double as in it. I got that on my k X three. And you know how many times I've
used the internal battery compartment for my KX three. How many zero points? That is because the KX three battery is not as good as the Kicks two battery. It's a different battery. The battery is very good. Well, the KX three batteries is just double a'sue. Well, if you put the rechargeable stuff in, sure, I just put aklines in it and it's fine. Have you got have you seen have you guys seen this now? Can you see that on zoom? You can't? Okay, you can't see it
on zoom. We still haven't seen you'll see you'll see it on So this is a This is a handheld U S d X transceiver right here. Interesting Now, it's cool, it's it's it's a U. It's a U S it's the not the true sd X, but it's a U S d X. Okay, and it's cool. But you know what this does. That's big. You know what it doesn't have? This is not good I wouldn't call this big. No, I don't even care about don't I don't care about the microphone. I'm sorry. The waterfowler is the tuner. You know
what this doesn't have with this ship. Look at the size of this. No, wait, is there is there power internal? Is there internal power? No, there's no power internal to that. Okay, so so that's the keep talking, keep talking. So so what are you gonna do? This is? This? Is this? They make one this twice this tall, and I'm like, oh, does that one have a battery? They're like, no, this is yeah, it's a chef. It's a chef. Yeah, is transceiver though, it is a transceiver. It's a q
r P five. Why transceiver? So you have so you have to you have to Yeah, so you have to power it externally. So and the reason you can, yeah you can. You can get a small one. But I'm still still though, I'm just like, I'm like, man, this is this is just this is too small to not have its own internal battery. Can you see, because what's the point of this. Yeah, here's an altoids container, right, check this out. This is smaller than
an altoids container. So it's the same size. This is the same one. Were probably about the same size with a different case. And yeah, it looks like a different case. Yeah it is. Yeah, on a live stream a cuple weeks ago. I got this on the air and made a contact on it. It Actually they work, but but the QA on these is a nightmare. I know Adam got one that was total garbage. A couple other people bought when they were total trash. These are very risky
ratio. I'd be curious what that would do when you're not on a beam as well, Josh, I would I'd see the reason, the reason I picked this up, the reason I picked this up. I would like to, uh, I would like to take this and I I don't wear shirt pockets because I'm not eighty five yet, but I would like to take this and be able to put off That's all right, most of them are sixty
five not I just I just yeah, cargo shorts. I would like to take this out somewhere with like a very small like a K six ur antenna and this thing and just get on the air where you're not expecting to go. That's why I bought this. And I'm like, how much want to have a battery. Where are you gonna put the antenna? Though? He'll people chess rigs, Jason Hill, people check, go around town, have a chest rig not eighty five? Did you did you miss the part?
I said not, I'm not eighty five something That radio saw many money, Jason, So that should give me some ideas of how to much so small it was in it it was about one twenty. You could totally mount to a walker the counter. Will a walker antenna? That's yeah, yeah, yeah, We're gonna do a video. Will a walker antenna? That's what
Hell's freaking awesome? Al right walkers? Well yeah, well yeah, yeah, great, Oh my boys, uh eighty six d MS in the chat, Dennis, you were welcome to join us on zoom, sir, Yeah, here man, Yeah, Dennis, you're welcome to join us. Buddy. You should have the zoom link. If you don't hit one of us up on discoord, we can give it to you as one of the only two boots on the ground at PACIFICA and you might as well get in here
right right, yeah, the inside information. Yeah, do you guys know if the Parishing mobile fella of there was able to make any jumps for it? He did it is I didn't. I didn't hear him, but I know, I know I made a couple of jumps at least, Carlos. Do you think he is your competition? Do you look at him as your competition? No, man, I mean hell, he started doing this before I did it. Just that he doesn't publicize as I do. It's the
only difference sixty five days a year though. You know, so you're the appliance jumper young, he's young. Whipper snappers just may do it so easy these days when your rage Sonny, we didn't even need a parachute. They didn't have plays, our own jumps, own hot air, right. I got an idea there. I didn't realize that anybody else was doing it besides me until after I published a few videos and somebody was a guy who California dom like news to me. Very good question in the chat. So now
parachute mobile, Yes, because because because there's an extreme time limit. Yeah, yeah, extreme time limit, yes, exactly. There's a start in the stop time, yes. Stop. There's actually a lawsuits. There's a lot of suit between parks on the air and parachutes on the air. For the I'm gonna I'm gonna work all parachutists on. That's an endorsement. Yeah, we just call it, just call it IODA. Just take it from islands on the air and call it I on a sphere on the air.
You don't know what's happening atmospheres on the air. Yeah, there you go, atmospheres on the air. Okay, So where's the where's the question? In the chand James K seven K J five C T S says how long has this group of youtubing ham has been friends friends? Yeah? I don't want any know. They don't know. No, I don't think any of us would claim that exactly. But okay, yeah, long story short. I heard his own Kyle like, you know, snuggle together. He is
warm warm. I just rd bed. I slept on the couch. Didn't witness anything at all. So okay, So long story short, serious answer to that question. Long story short. We all met at him bention. Well, I shouldn't say all of us. Many of us met at him vention of twenty nineteen. Yes, that was the first time we met. And then I stream that was right right correct at the bridge combo yeah yeah, and then uh and then it was shortly after that I reached out to
to Josh uh K six uhez Jerry KG six HQ. Thank you, Yes, thank you very much. Dennis did a really good podcast and Mike, you were on that podcast talking about Jerry after he passed away that I thought that was very well done. Yes, so, uh so Jerry Sterling, Kyt Kyle. I think you were there, Josh. And who else was there? Someone else was there? There were six of us there. Eric, it was not Eric. Eric was Uh No, he was, he was invited. He didn't come. Are you talking about the bunch? The
very first YouTuber's bunch? And we did that before Dayton though, didn't we know you were on there? Mike? No, it was right after Dayton, was right after It was like July No, because that's where we all met. Because it was funny. What was funny was, uh, Josh and Frank and I were at the bridgecomb booth doing a live stream from him mentioning and that was the night that was the day after the brewery that night and we couldn't remember Mike's name. We're like, hey, who's the guy.
Who's the guy from Michigan that has the brother with the with the metery what's that guy? I don't know what his name is. We couldn't remember his name. Yeah, yeah, yeah, that's right. Yeah that was before all that. So we got together and we did a YouTuber's bunch and I invited these guys on the channel. I was like, hey, I'd like to do this live stream or not. It wouldn't stream. It was
a recorded thing. Uplut it later with you guys, and and that right, and I watched we need to do a look back at We need to get all those guys together. No, no, no, I just want to get all the I just want to get that group. I want to get that that same group back onto another show. That's all. Yeah, but we but we did that U somewhere summer of twenty nineteen something like that, and uh, And I told these guys, I said, I want
to get you guys on the channel. And we did the thing. And after I clicked in on the recording, I was like, hey, thanks for coming on. I was like, I was like, you know, I just want to do this one time. And I was like, if you guys ever want to do this again, and pretty much everyone was like, dude, let's do this again. Like okay, so let's do it again. So we did it every month for like a freaking year, and that spilled into the lockdowns of twenty twenty because that was in twenty nineteen.
That was the last time they did. Yeah, it was perfect timing, I guess, yeah, right, exactly exactly. So that's why the that's why the YouTuber's bunch met once a month for like a year and a half. And that's kind of where all that developed. From what you're saying is that you caused covid. You were the one that, right, Actually it was. It was an organized it was a collaborative event to create covid because
every one of us had major subscriber boom and viewer boom during COVID. Oh my god, I cannot tell you, Like if you were making videos during COVID, you were killing it, because oh man, it was great. Because my home that was yes, yes, they need hobbies and they're like ham radio hell yeah yeah, yeah, yeah, it was great. It was my My channel size doubled in twenty twenty, and it doubled again in twenty twenty one. I had a fifteen thousand subscriber month. Whoa, wow,
that's it. That's good. You understand, like, yeah, one month, fifteen thousand subscriber here. Yeah, yeah, mister, that's level. Yeah, crazy, crazy. I haven't even had a thousand months. It was I think I had. I think I had a ten thousand year. Yeah you had. You had a big one too, Yeah, I had a big one. Yeah, I can't remember. It wasn't fifteen thousand, It wasn't that much, but it was a pretty big it was.
Yeah. Anyway, So that's kind of how the whole thing started. And then just since then we just like always hung out together at Hamfest Orlando ham Vention. The next one obviously is Huntsville. Yeah, the Big the Big Three as I called him. Anybody that's anybody that's going to Orlando next February is welcome to come join us and hang out and whatnot. So at least just kind of welcome everybody. Yeah, you guys. Also, yeah,
the is it qso today their online Hamfest thing? Yeah, yeah, the ton not Now, there was only a few of us on that they did the first one, well I did the first one, but then the YouTubers bunch, I don't remember who was there. It was the first two. It was the first two or three. Yeah, that was me. It was the first two or three. Charlie did a big soda thing on one last year and uh and that was pretty fun. But yeah, I mean
it was you know. I mean, okay, so I'm gonna I'm gonna put on my YouTube hat for a minute, guys, So you'll have to forgive me for a second. Okay. But one of the things you learn about and I and if anyone in the Zoom disagrees with me, you're welcome
to speak up. But I don't think you will. If anyone one of the things you learned about studying YouTube and how to do YouTube and how to do this and how do that is and they will tell you this, I joined these YouTube how to build YouTube streams and and and zoom sessions and whatnot. Nobody knows what the hell Ham Radio is. There's guys out there with cooking channels, and there's guys with self help and finance and marriage and I just want to kiss ladies on the beach and yeah, yeah they I mean,
yeah, there's all kinds of stuff. So hanging out at Gallas and beach, let's go. No, I think there's probably more of that in l A. But hang it out. But anyway, but they will all tell you that to find other people in your niche on YouTube, whatever your niche is, they find other people and collaborate with them. There's no such
thing as competition. It's collaborate. Look at it as collaboration. So that is why I and I'm speaking for myself right now, that's why I invite all these guys onto my channel for the happy Hour, and we used to do the YouTuber's bunch and we'd all do I'll have one or two guys on the stream during my Sunday live streams a lot of times, and there's no such If you're really in this to do to promote ham Radio like most of
us are, there's no such thing as competition. It's collaboration. And that's that's and that's that's kind of whole how the whole thing evolved over time. Yeah, to add to Jason's point, because again I completely agree. It's this. Oh my god, I totally I think I just had a complete brain fart. It's it's it's because no, it's that Apple computer sitting in
front of it. Windows. This is Windows, Windows. I dog on Windows first tonight, man, come on, I feel but so collaboration, all right, So yes, yes, And there's this concept called small pie fallacy that like, this is all the viewers that exist, right, this this pie, right and if you watch my videos, which assuming you're probably watching me a lot more than some of these other guys, that's I'm eating up more of this pie. So this is the pie that's left over.
The reality is that there's no small pie fallacy there. There's no limit to the amount of views. So we're not really competing with each other for a finite amount of views every month. We're really just amplifying the signal of amateur
radio and creating more viewers that never really existed before. I don't know if anybody understands this, but like everybody in this zoom but everybody making YouTube videos, regardless of how big or small your channel is, you are literally creating more amateur radio people people they become licensed than has ever been experienced in all time. There is nothing getting rid of the code requirement, like, none of that will compare to what what people are doing by creating this content and
making amateur radio expressible. There is nothing like this been done before. And it's amazing. It's not a zero sum game. Correct. Oh, that's another way to say, there are, there are I would have said, but it's the same thing. There are my brain decided to explode. But yeah, I came back around. We got it. Yes, Steve has said it before, and I think it was Steve that I first heard it from, and it may not have been. But you know, this is a hobby of a thousand hobbies. I mean you can go dog nuts on
on HF or or repeaters or digital modes or whatever. I mean you when you combine that with that, there is no finite amount of pie. Yeah, there's an infinite number of m radio vera. Let's I completely agree with what you guys are saying. Completely agree. Let's say there is a fine out amount of pie. Let's hypothetically let's say there is. I don't think people realize this. There are two point eight billion with a b billion viewers
on YouTube every month. Crazy two point eight billion two years ago, two years, two years ago, in twenty twenty one it was two point two billion. So it's grown by six hundred million in the last two years. They are estimating by twenty twenty five that it will exceed like like it'll be three point five billion by like twenty twenty six or eight or something like that. Okay, so business and a loto is causing the YouTube. Yeah, yeah, sure, yeah, but it is. Think about no, think
about it logically though. How many comments do you guys get and I'm talking about you guys, you guys even that that don't post enough and have small channels? Okay, how many comments do you get that? And I'm not I'm not trying to channel shame. Okay, really not? You have if you have, if you have, Yeah, So how many comments do you get that say, hey, I'm new to him radio or I just learned about this, or I'm just trying to get in this or I'm just trying
to get started with this or something like that. There's a lot of people out there. So out of those two point eight billion views that YouTube gets every month, that's just that's just uh, fish in the sea, man, that's fish in the sea. We need to go catch and all that There's success is us responding to any one of those corocative comments, a little positive reinforcement. That's great. Yep, yep, And yeah, no, Josh is absolutely correct. There is no there is no limited pie or anything.
But yeah, we should. It doesn't we're not competing with each other. Well we are because it's fine, of course it's fun. Yeah, YouTube because but I can say that because I'm at the top, so you know YouTube. Let's be seriously seriously. There's a really good question here and I'm not it. Uh from w P three j M. Who is the pioneer in starting YouTube videos? For him? I don't know this, but I know Jason Starlier. It's Steve Goat, the Goat, the Goat. Oh, I love that. If it's he, I'm glad, it's the
super Glad He's he's he's uh yeah, he was. He was a long time ago. Was first. Ham Nation was pretty early on now they didn't because they existed. They did the YouTube right, Yeah, they were on Twitter and they would they would live stream on Twitter and repost on YouTube. Amateur Radio Logic, Amateur Logic, dot TV. There. They've been on YouTube longer than I. George Georgia Company, Yeah, George Georgian uh yeah yeah, and then you're Gary Peers Gary ham Radio. Now yeah, so
they were all way before. Now I'm going to give you guys TV. They've been a while. Yeah yeah, yeah, Amateur logic dot TV. That's Tommy and George and they're cool. They're cool, good guys. So, uh, I'm gonna give you guys the secret. All you guys who have a YouTube channel, I'll give you the secret. Here's how you succeed on YouTube. Here's upload VIDEOO. Yeah, that's that's part of it.
That's part of it, right, upload upload one video at least every week, yeah, every week, not one video, not one video a month, Not one video when you feel like it, upload one video a week,
one video week. Do that for a year. I challenge you do that for a year, and then a year from now in the October twenty twenty four him ray now happy a come back here and tell me how you did one year fifty two videos between now in this time next year and come back, tell me and tell me how sure of success if you upload one video how many, it doesn't matter, does not matter, It does not matter. What I'm saying. No, what I'm saying is okay, what
I'm saying is this. I'm saying that whatever you're doing now will be exponentially multiplied if you do one video a week. Oh yes, year absolutely, so whatever your measuring stick is whatever. The only person you're really yeah, Mike's going to take that to a dark place. So the only person you should be in competitions, yes, about about one third, about one third of a bow fan, So it's it's the only person you should really be
competing with is yourself. So so look at everything you've done. Yeah, look at everything you've done until today, and then upload one video week for the next fifty two weeks, and then in October twenty four, come on the Happy Hour and tell me how you did, and tell me if it made a difference. Guarante if I may, if I may, just go ahead. There's a lot of us who film on their phones. Okay, every Vedel is film with an iPhone. Now I use the back camera,
Okay, make sure you look at the camera. You can always tell if a guy is using if they're looking at the screen and using the front facing camera, which is not as good a camera. So you shouldn't do that. You can they're looking at the screen and not at the camera because their eyes are like so like right now, I'm not looking at the camera. I'm looking at the wall. When I look at the camera, it looks like I'm talking to you. Look at the camera I wear. I wear
mirrored sunglasses so I can look at the girls without getting caught. So okay, So so everything Mike said is correct. Everything Mike said is correct, and in the sunglass thing is a good idea. But there is a mental thing. There is a mental thing in our minds where if you're looking at the camera and you're looking into my eyes, you the viewer, are looking into my eyes. Right now, I'm far more engaged. You're far more
engaged. I feel like I'm talking to you, guys. So make sure contact your script is literally right underneath your camera, because I've seen a lot of YouTubers their script is off to the side, so you see their eyes tracked to the camera and the script. I've seen a few script I know who you're talking about. The number one most important thing though, is good audio. Yes, you not use the internal microphone on your camera. The
smallest bastion of a breeze. People will turn off your videos so quickly if the audio sucks. I shoot everything in ten eighty p sixty frames a second. I don't do four K. I don't care about that. I do four get good audio. That's good audio is much Number one most that is more important than video quality absolutely coming from a podcast, guys, dj I microphones ndred percent dead on coming from a podcast only where we're starting one hundred
percent. You know, if your audio is not great and you can't sit there and listen to yourself and you're just screaming to drive yourself over the edge of like how bad your audio levels, it's gonna be basically poor quality. People are just gonna drop off. You know, I can watch absolutely podcast all the time, watch the trend go up when I have really good audio, and when we have crappy audio or we got echoes. You know, wasn't Jim just telling me that, yeah, yeah, you have audio.
Audio. Audio is the most important thing Internet, Internet, it's your buddy, yeah, Ado, making good quality content is the most important thing. But audio is. Yes, But if you if you make if you make good if you make good content with poor audio, nobody's gonna watch it, right a. If you make if you make boring content with excellent audio, nobody's gonna watch it. So it's it's it's an algorithm. People talk about the YouTube algorithm all the time. It is an algorithm. But yeah,
yeah, yeah, let me say something, go ahead. I appreciate, I appreciate all the in the because we got in the weeds a little bit. I'm gonna go back to Jason's point of make a video every week. Yep. And I don't think everybody understands this of like everybody here, probably between Jason and I, we've been on YouTube longer than most people. I started in two thousand and six, and I've been making videos, not as consistently in the beginning, but at a certain point I began just making them
consistently, making videos, just making videos. And if you go back and look at my old stuff, I've had not hidden a lot of my old stuff, total trash, just total garbage. Yes, and you are going it's not like you're you're not trying to be Kubrick. You're not trying to make the best movie of all time. You're putting something out there, into the zeitgeist, into the algorithm, and it creates a community. It just takes you doing it to be able to get to that point. You're going
to learn as you go and you're gonna get better. And so everything you hear people focus on the audio, focus on this, focus on don't focus on any of that. Focus on making you seem semi cogent in a video, video and audio. That is something that you put together and get it out there, and that's it, Like, that's that's the only thing you gotta do. And just do it consistently, period, and you're gonna get better by the very nature of you wanting to do it yours because you're gonna
suck. The enemy of good is great. Just focus on good. Focus on good. Please, don't channels no respect. Okay, yeah, yeah, I will say that. Just get right into it. Okay, I will give you the big YouTube ack. Just get right into it. Don't say like, well, okay today we're gonna talk about and then here we go cut to the opening and then's but that's thirty minutes of the pan blah blah blah. Just go right into the video. But that's that's it.
That's it. That's a new So that hadn't always been true. That's true to it's true. That is a big book of your trend. Yeah, so the algorithm is constantly changing what people want to watch on you YouTube is constantly changing. So yes, I agree with everything Josh just said. He's absolutely correct. Kind of freak last lost my training thought there for a second. You yeah I did, I did, Yeah, yeah you did.
Yeah truth time. It's it's yeah, just refective viewers time. That's true also, but it it is a it is a what's the word I'm looking for here? It's trying to I really did lose my train of thought. So yeah, so what what did you give me? The give me the gist of what you just said, Josh, because I listened to wouldn't agree with you, but then I lost my train of thought. So totally focus on making videos the rest of it. You'll work it out over time.
Oh that's okay, that's doing it forget like you would like like when when did you post your first YouTube video? Do you remember? Twenty fourteen? It's a cute video. Oh okay, okay, so that was what a dual band? Yeah? If you would really, if you would really like to see really bad videos, go look at my first video it go yeah back to two thousand and six, or like I made my YouTube account two thousand and six. Okay, so YouTube YouTube was created in two thousand and
five and sold to Google in two thousand and six. Yeah, so I created Oh shut the hell up, get off my stream. Yeah, so so I put some videos up in like two thousand and eight or nine, but then I do and when I when I started my my my of course. So so here's here's the here's the point. Yeah that Josh was talking, and here's the point. I'm I'm going to say. They say that your first videos will be your worst videos, and anything that rhyme's ever anything
that you ever heard rhyme probably came from Sean Cannell. He loves rhyme. So their first videos will be your worst videos and get one percent better with every every video. It's okay that your video today sucks, and you should look back at your old stuff and say, wow, I have improved a lot. If you look about your back at your stuff from five years ago and it's the same as it is today, you suck. I mean seriously, seriously, I mean you need to grow. You need to grow,
Okay, you need to improve, you need to improve your stuff. So I and my original videos are and I look at I look at my original videos and I'm like, they're terrible. Some of them have terrible audio, but I leave them up there just kind of well, they get views. But also because I Yeah, it's fun to make fun of myself and it's fun to see how far I've come. So yes, yeah, So don't
worry about just you gotta just press record. As Sean Kennell says, next next uh Happy Hour or maybe for New Year's or something, maybe we should all uh roast our first, you know, maybe we just we just go to our first YouTube video, like Percelaine idea, that'd be funny. That's a great idea, dude, that is a great idea of our worst video that I love that. I have to go, though. It's my dad's birthday and we're literally having the dinner right now, so I have to go.
Don't let family get in the way with your YouTube creatures. Family has to wait, Okay, thro microwave Josh, So is it fair to say that, and I'm I'm a tiny I have a tiny YouTube channel. Is it fair to say that? Another piece of advice would be to be yourself, don't necessarily to be somebody else, don't try to mimic somebody else's channel. Do what you want to do, and then present it the way that you want to present it, because people are going to connect with how how
you present information. And how you how you present yourself correct. Think that's been the biggest thing is in the beginning, I'm not gonna lie. In the beginning, I was mimicking another YouTuber and in my way, but I was following. I was following the same I was following the same style as they were. And then I was like, you know what, I'm just gonna try it on my own and try the way, try to present things the way that I want to present it. And it made a big difference.
Yeah, go ahead, Eric, Eric, go ahead. So the only bit of advice is that I've learned. And I'm like a small channel, less than one hundred subscribers, so but like the biggest thing is, like, you know, don't be afraid to throw yourself out there and introduce
people to your channel. I mean that is I mean I struggle with that all the time, but you know, the more I do it, the more it becomes natural, and you know, people get more interested in you videos, and then you can, you know, find that you're gonna be better contact from there. Yeah, Mike, I think you had something come up with your own damn name. I just saw the piggybacks on what Shane said there's piggybacks on what your what change just said? And I know tube
sounds like two point zero. I never I've never thought that thought. No, I always thought it sounded like ham radio tube was like YouTube ham radio tube. Yeah. I just had come across my YouTube feed yesterday. Somebody's call sign. It's like a four call I think radio stuff. Hey, you gave that up, man, you you can't blame that you gave that up. But I'm like, come ony, Yeah, imitation is not the sincerest form of flattery. Oh my god, channel now, thank you.
Just give me an idea for Monday. We'll interview you. That's right. Oh my goodness. He's in the chat. So I have I haven't I have a story about that. So I went to a video marketing I've been to a bunch. I say a bunch. I've probably been to eight or ten over the last five years. Been an eight or ten video marketing conferences.
VID Summit, the biggest one in the world is VID Summit. And they were in l A for a long long time and the first time this year, just like last month, for the first time ever, they were in Texas And they're coming back to Texas next year. It's one thousand dollars for a ticket to this conference, nine and ninety five dollars. And it's Friday, it's Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday's three day conference. Okay, but it's all about if you want to get serious about this stuff, you guys
have got to realize I do this full time. This is my full time job. So I invest, I reinvest into myself, into my CHAMT and it is important. And so but what the what they do? Issh I drink too much beer? I guess, so I don't have any pickle beer to not so but but what yeah, so you don't have to roof for yourself? No, yeah, yeah, my wife will take advantagement either way. So but uh, it's I was like that train has derailed, so it has well said. Yes, I'm a windows box, the windows box
I gotta yeah yeah yeah, so sha coach right exactly. Yeah. No, it's it's about it's about putting the time, putting the time in and learning what you want to learn and getting that out to your audience. And it is a out build. Someone said a minute ago about building an audience. It is about building an audience. I mean, it's totally about building an audience, and it is a good it's a good place to be because,
you know, sometimes I get accused of doing YouTube. Oh it's all about the money for you, It's all about If it was about the money, I wouldn't have a Ham Radio channel, guys. I would have a channel about Android phones, or about monster trucks, or about or how much how much Windows sucks or something, you know, I mean anything, yeah, right, right, yeah, yeah, something that people something that people
have actually heard of, you know. So, I mean, you know, I I do Ham Radio channel because I love I love Ham Radio. There are a lot of YouTube channels that are right. I mean, we're in a niche, right, yes, we're in a fairly small niche. Anyway, my daughter watches this this female, it's probably late twenties, early thirties. He does reactive videos. My daughter's swell. Yeah, reaction videos are huge rights all this girl does she has I mean, she's reasonably cute.
I think she was a gamer or something at one. Yeah. Yeah, And my daughter's always comparing my videos to hers. Yeah, He's like, oh, she just posted a new video. She has four hundred thousand views. It was up an hour ago. Yours is a week old and has four hundred dead. Yeah, apparently you're not young and cute enough anymore. Break it. Yeah, I can't. I can't empty YouTube like that, me too. Yeah. Yeah, look at the guys who just coming
there. Uh, what is it? Crazy Russian hacker or whatever. He literally stuff on Amazon, right, and and he'll buy like twenty things, cut it all together in like a fifteen minute video, and right, I can personality the hydraulic Press channel. For the love of god. Oh, that that's a freaking That guy is a metal head too. That guy's a genius. Oh, he doesn't destroy stuff on his channel and he gets millions
of views. That the guy's a genius. Yes, he was wearing he was wearing like a metal head like he and I would get along great if you wear a mon of Marth shirt like you're freaking metal. Okay, Hey k E for r x M. Thank you for the super chat, buddy, appreciate that. Uh yeah, that's good. But I mean, yeah, it's so it's it's I don't know, it's it's good too. It's good to learn about all the new stuff and and uh is that Vince Vince
Vince gotta go? Thanks? Thanks for joining, Thanks for joining Vince Money tonight, Vince, We're gonna we're gonna wrap it up here in a minute. So I appreciate everyone being on tonight. And I hope you guys watched the watchug Kyle's Trivia before this, so it's uh but yeah, it is about collapse operation, not competition. I said that earlier, and I have built some really cool friendships over doing this, not just through Ham Radio.
Everybody's built people have been building Ham friendships through Ham Radio for one hundred years literally, and now we've got this new medium called YouTube, and in the grand scheme of things, it's new and it's another good way for people like minded people to meet. So I've had a lot of fun with this and
I'm not stopping anytime soon. So well as it's also kind of a it's a community, it's a network thing too, yes, Yes, that there's a lot of So you have the network around your channel and your discord and Jason Josh has the same kind of deal, and we have toads and so on and so forth. Yeah, and there's a lot of interaction between our overlap between those groups too, so it's not even just Ham Radio. We
reach out and communicate with each other in a lot of ways. And I think the sense of community, whether it be on YouTube, followers or discord or whatever is is awesome in him radio. And yeah, I'm not yes, this ain't paying the rent at Jim's house. No, I actually go to work. Well, you don't post videos enough, dude, And I don't mean I'm not trying to be rude when I say that, but I posted three last week. Dude, you listened to a way too much.
I'm posting listened to. I'm the one that's guilty about not posting every week. Cars Shane, pretty much, pretty much, pretty much all of you are guilty of that, except Mike. Mike's not guilty of that. But no Iribe post five videos a day. CEO is dropping videos. I'll drop nine tomorrow morning. Boys watch out. Hey, I don't opal box. I don't suggest doing more than one a day. Seriously, I know you guys, I know you guys are kidding, but yeah, I don't suggest
doing more than one a day. Ed A C three I K. Thank you for the super chat. Appreciate you being here tonight, and Mike into m A K. Thank you for the super chat. Mike says, thanks for the ticks and encouragement for the newer channels. I've learned a lot from all of you. Have fun too. I'm going to try to up my game. Hey man, improve yourself. That's that's the most important thing.
Improve yourself, seriously. That's right. That's right. So all right, let's go around the room and tell everybody what you have upcoming and uh and then we're going to close it out because we're going. We've been going for like an hour and a half. So I'm just gonna start at the top. Well, you know what, I'm gonna start at the bottom. I'm gonna start the bottom. So I'm gonna go to Shane. The two Shanes are together. That's weird. That's weird. K I k I six q
F q F I your first buddy. What's going on in your channel and my channel you don't have? Do you have a channel or not? I can't remember channel I. I have one video on there right now. That's a channel. I really I really got to start listening to my girlfriend more. She's she's persuading me to to try to make more videos. So she's helping me, so supporting me and getting into making more videos. Bless her heart. She is a wonderful woman. Carlos, you are not wrong.
She is a wonderful woman. And uh, that's good. I don't know if she's walking, but if she's watching, I don't know what he's watching, but probably not well. She said she would tune in when she gets off work, and she got off work about forty five minutes ago. Oh yeah. She came to Teo's campsite at Huntsville and met everybody at the campsite
there. She wanted to meet Teo because she says Teo looks really young and wanted to all right, that was though, Yeah, I put the gray on make myself look older, I mean, to be fair, Steve Martin went gray when he was like twelve. Yeah that's true. Yeah you gott Yeah. So not so much for Robert though, I was. I was very very very honored to meet all you guys in person at Huntsville, and Shane, I really wanted to meet you in person then. But you want
to Huntsville this year? Oh good, good, because I mean you gotta you gotta have two Shanes in one location. We have Scout seventy five, which is the original Shane. We had the uh Shane Team six. Oh yeah, we have. We have a couple more Shanes that signed regularly, so almost like the darn army. Welcome to the Shane Team six. Yeah, Jim, Jim and I. Jim and I are Meal Team six. Yes, the Gravy Seals, baby, the Gravy Gravy. Nice. Hey Shane, Shane, thanks for being here, buddy. I appreciate you joining
and uh send me your email address on discord or email or whatever. I have your email address, so I'll send you an in mit to our our our groups dot io group. Thank you. Yeah, I'm really I'm very very what's the word. I can't even think of their word right now. Very happy to call you guys all my friends. Thank you post post happiness you are friends. Post at least one video between now and the next happy hour, Shane. That's your challenge there you are? Are you dropping off
Jason's friend list? Yeah? You should have seen Jim's face when I asked him how I get on Coffee and Ham radios. He's like, who the hell is this? To who he was, I'm like, what that's let's be honest. Coffy and Ham Radio. The bar is pretty low for coffee and hand radio. It's not like you're on clubhouse or something. Did you yeah? All right, yeah yeah, I don't even They didn't even send
me a mug, and I brought him like. I brought him like fifty viewers that night, and I sold a bunch of their I don't want your mug, Kyle. So no, seriously, thank you, Shane. Thanks for being on here tonight. Uh other Shane K five QBF. What's going on, buddy? How are you? I'm good man, living the dream. I know you are. What's coming up for me? Well, I've got I actually pivoted a little bit from Ham Radio and put a hot air balloon video up on my YouTube channel cool. Speaking of thanks to t O,
during this live stream, we crossed three thousand and two subscribers. No, thank you, and I'm gonna shamelessly drop a link in the chat just so go ahead I can get some subscribers. But thank you so much. Absolutely. I do have some Ham Radio stuff on the way. I have a couple of test meters that's came in the mail. I have a wireless Bluetooth programmer from talk Pod, not tid Radio, so that's kind of cool. But other than that, yeah, getting settled in. I've got a
huge collective bargaining agreement at work that we have to implement into it. So that'll occupy my world for the next seven years. So, Shane, is that bluetooth programmer from talk pod? Is that gonna Will you be able to program in the spurious emissions? Are? Yes? Okay, Yeah, we can decide what where the spurry emissions go. That way, we can decide they are, yes, exactly, has nocturnal option, yeah, put them all down at two, seven, four or five mega hurts. Apparently this
uh, this programmer will program multiple different radios. So I've got a couple of Bell fans I'm gonna test it on as well as the talk pod and I I told them before they sent it to me, I said, the biggest thing is if your app requires me to connect to the internet and create an account, I don't want you to send it to me, right. So, according to them, it is directly cashed to your phone directly.
There's no connection to the Internet. So when I did this video, I'm going to turn all Internet access off to program my phone via direct Bluetooth. And that was the requirement before I accepted this. It's like I'm not doing another one of this created an account that can be breached by anybody with a web that has any type of Web knowledge. So we'll see how it shakes out. And I've gotten a couple of meters that I want to test for
you guys. But it's been a fun ride. It's been great meeting everybody in here. I think I've met everybody in person except for Todd and Eric, and I actually met Freddie Mack and Shane. Yep, I actually met Freddy Mack. He came to a hot air balloon festival and up in Oklahoma, So that was cool. But that's cool, good, super awesome. Actually, Shane, we need Shane. You and I need to get together
for that overland thing soon. Yes, so Andwards okay, and you and Frank and I need to get together because I keep getting teased about my DX comander for to build the commander. We got to build a DX commander together. The that I have to phone commanders, you know, so that you could show us. Frank Frank, Frank, Frank and Shane and I are going to get together and build it. And we were we were we were waiting until we were waiting until the weather cooled down, and the weather cooled
down throughout three weeks ago, it's been nice weather. What was the reason last year? Cool or I didn't have a X Commander because I wanted because I liked comedy on my channel gym, That's why, and like and want to build it by himself. He wanted his friends there with that. Okay building, that's okay, alive Mike though, Yeah, get the extra band. Well, I'm going to have that. I'm going to have the new
DX Commander expedition soon. We have the green plates, but we have I have well, I have that, I have that, I'm going to have. I'm going to have the all green leak. Yeah, the cool Commander. Yeah, yeah, that's awesome. I mean I'm gonna put some Kate in Mardmond of course, of course. But all right, thank you, Shane. Yeah, let's get together about overland and uh the antenna build both
absolutely. Robert digital Rancher, your next buddy. What's going on? Yeah, well, having the blast every time you invite me to these, Jason, so thank you. I got to put your email on the list. I added a couple of emails to the list. And I think I added the tech Prepper. He he sent me an email with his regrets tonight, but I think I forgot your I need to put yours on the list, so help me remember that. I will. I will add you to that. I I've been working on my live stream game, so I've been.
I've done one like normal live stream and one phone based live stream. So I'm trying to work up that muscle memory. And I tell you, every time I attempt something like that, I get a new level of appreciation for what you guys do in these live streams. I mean trying to manage all the activity that's going on, paying attention to the chat, making sure you're not screwing something up. Uh, it's it takes some work and it takes some practice. So yeah, I've been working on that muscle. And other
than that, i've been I've been practicing a lot of CW. I'm trying to get my courage up to go out and do my first CW PoTA activision braver than I am. Well, I'm not there yet. I'm working on it. I'm working on it. Yeah. Yeah, well, and you know that's that's what I'm going to do with this guy. Right, So this U this new Allcraft. I'm going to give it a spin out of
the part so and I'm sure it'll be high entertainment for everybody watching. And I'm sure it's going to be really painful for everyone trying to contact me. But uh, you know that's what it's about. You got to give it fun. It's fun. Yeah, Well, thank you for being here tonight, Robert, appreciate it, Kyle or t o you guys? One do you guys share Robert? I don't think Robert has privileges, so my one, do you guys share? Maud, We'll do I'm sorry, one of
you guys share Robert channel in my chat? Please? Yeah, I'd appreciate that. Thank you, Yeah, you bet, thank you. Thanks for being here. Freddie mac Man. I feel bad that I didn't. I didn't acknowledge you when you when you joined Buddy Good in the hood. Man. How's it going man? How are you? That's going great? Actually,
we the wife and I just got back from vacation. Uh we bought a small, older travel trailer and decided, you know, since we've never had a travel trailer experience in our lives, we would just go cold Turkey and drive to Missouri. Sorry, Kyle would come and see you. We didn't go quite that far, but it is what it is. You're right. We discovered what it's like to let Google direct you down the back roads of Missouri. Almost how many? How many deer did he hit? Almost
all of them? Almost all of them? No venicon? No venicon the eating in Missouri this year? Sorry, pissed right. We made it through and got back home just in time to start building the Jankopotamus three thousand. N Oh, that's cool. Yeah, those are those those icons, their icon commercial rigs, and they're made out of that. The rack is made out of kax. I don't know if you're familiar with what is I have. I have a lot of guns. I know exactly what I found.
Yeah, that's great, that's great. How about a blast. Good to see you guys again. I'm trying to get back in the swing of things. My wife tape made me not take one radio, and I've been away from it all for a week. I snuck a network radio with me and so he didn't Yeah, yeah, all right, Freddie Mack, I know a guy that knows r V, So you know you have any questions, just reach out to me. I have a million now. Speaking of speaking of, t O and I are going to kick off a thing in three
weeks. Three weeks from tomorrow, I think it is the twelfth. Yeah, two weeks from tomorrow, two weeks from tomorrow, just say the day it's the twelfth. Yeah, So t on, t O and I are
going to kick off a thing. I'm going to start a live stream on my RV channel once a month for now, and I have and uh yeah unplugged and we're going to if one of you guys is share that link in the chat, please, So t and I, t O and I are going to live stream in November. I've got Hank Strange already scheduled for December. We're gonna try to that's right. We're gonna talk about vans and stuff,
and I'm looking for somebody for January. I'm gonna bring Kyle on at some point because College is purchased a hiker trailer or he put a down payment on one. Anyway, so Kyle can talk about that here in a minute. But yeah, So we're gonna do live streams with the r V slash overland stuff on starting next month. So that's gonna be fun. So I mean you have a rooftop tent, so well, I mean that's that. Literally, that's the thing. So we we we can totally get together and
talk about that as well. So yeah, I'm looking for people to come on. So my dad has a fifth wheel and I really needed to learn how to drive that thing. Oh god, oh I learned how to drive that thing before I learned how to drive a car, honestly. But well, a truck with a trailer, I put it like that, a truck with a truck with a tandem, a tandem. So yeah, he has a two thousand and three two diesel and I love driving that truck. Yeah, that's a nice truck. So cool. Well, thank you Freddie Mac
for being here, buddy, appreciate you, appreciate your time. And are you Are you on the email list? Freddy? Did you get the email about a week ago about this live stream? I did, sir, Yes, sir? Okay, good, should have answered sooner, but uh no, planning for a vacation, you don't know. You don't need to answer. I just want to make sure you're informed. That's all that's all I care about. So you're good. Okay, the links never changes, right, yeah, thanks, thanks, Yeah, and the story never ends.
That's right for a change. Carlos, your next buddy. What's going on? You're gonna it's the uh it's the end of season? Is it for you? Is it not literally the last weekend of the season for us here in the Midwest. Yeah. I have been not as good about making videos this year. I've made a few jumps. I just haven't edited the videos. Uh no, that exactly to make the time in November to edit some videos and post them up. I'm also gonna sort of kind of join the
overlanding community kind of thing. Not really, uh. I got my father in laws this former pickup truck and I'm gonna and I've turned it into a makeshift truck bit camper, which I'm going to completely rebuild over winter. So I'm planning on making a few videos about that because it includes radio and stuff, so be on the look up for that. Not exactly radio, not exactly overlanding, but then again, you know, it kind of ties in eventually. Just put an antenna on it, right it already has one and
a PRS. Put aprs in it and you be ahead of Mike Now that's not true. That's not true. When you're coming out to Peprol, We're waiting for you to jump out in Pepprol. You know, hit me up offside. We can make some we can make some plans. I need to go that way to I'm working on a on a rating called Exalminer, and I need to chase a couple of examiners or to finish it. And I believe there's a course happening over that way, so that may happen in January
February. Cool, you're going to jump in January February and New England? Are you nuts? Look? You know what if if that's what it takes to finish my guy rating. Yes, the guy jumps out of airplanes. I think that's enough. The guy jumps out of airplanes. I think the question are you nuts? Was answered long? Yeah? Absolutely, you know, I mean yeah. So, speaking of so Carlos, a couple of
you mentioned overlanding stuff. I did want to mention real quick. Kyle and Shane and I are going to go back to the More Expo, which is in Spring Fuld, Missouri next April. It's the eighteenth through the twentieth or third it's like the third weekend, third third weekend in April. So I'm leeve, we want good We're inviting everybody. We want to get a huge Ham radio presence at that show next year. So Shane and I drove out
there together last year, and I have this. I have the seventeenth on my calendar because yeah, yeah, you and I are going to go early. Yeah. So it's Springfield, Missouri. Springfield, Okay, Springfield, Missouri. So and they have and I teach. I've taught a Ham radio or actually a radio, not a Ham radio, but gmrs and Ham radio class there for the last two years. And it's just a it's it's not
a huge show like Overland Expo is, but it's a fun show. And uh and there's a PoTA Park just like ten or fifteen minutes down the road that we activated last year. So it's it's yeah, we're gonna try to get a camp a few camp sites all together. We're gonna set up the hex beam and we're gonna call seek you. Shane worked a guy that was
that was running like probably four hundred watts on a m last year. He was talking to a guy on AM on the Buddystick prol on this and that and that buddystick pro set up at that at that campsite attracted so much attention. Yes, yeah, like what is that? What do you do that
that that that hands that that that happens at all? You should you should get side booms amplifier, Jason. You should love to totally do that or anyway, put the uh put the third weekend of April on your calendar if you're interested in an overland show that has a Ham radio presence next April. So that's that's the thing is Oh, your next buddy, what's going on? Don seriously shout out thank you for the hospitality you showed Colin and I
last month when we were at your house. Really enjoyed, uh, really enjoyed hanging out with you and uh and thank you for all the all the uber rides you gave us. Listen, guys, you know you know, hey, listen, that's Ham fan. We'll do it anytime you want. You're up here. Quick thing for Eric and Todd if you guys don't mind, would love to network with you on something here. Since I'm in Connecticut, we do have one PoTA park that you probably don't know. That's actually
a four or five stater. It's in Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont, I believe, So we can talk about that offline. Would like to maybe network with you because I'm I'm playing PoTA because of K A. M R D. And and since I have his old t shirts, I'm waiting to see if any of his old T shirts can be resurrected in some Smithsonian or or maybe washing my truck, maybe washing the truck vintage a vantage that's officially a vintage now their vintage. But you can still order him on
my website. But yeah, yeah, that's how big the new logo. Because I saw you mass I I don't or maybe I should just start selling them myself and make all the money. But well, yeah, you just tell me what you Just tell me what you want to do, Mike. If you want me to put them on my website or you want to put them on your square site with your battery boxes. Either way, I don't care. Just just tell me. I don't even know how to do all that stuff, so it's easy. We're having fun. The bands have been
incredible. It's nice to see ten years I worked into the Pacific right here from the Eskimo tent here last week on I think I was like on like fifty watts and I worked cook Islands, Bang worked them, and I was I mean, for a guy like me who likes to talk, I was nervous and I didn't know what to say. So when you could do that to me, man, kudos to you. Hey Ham Radio Clubhouse. Next
Tuesday, on Halloween Night, we'll have our traditional Halloween show. Anybody who wants to stop by for a little bit of a trick, little a little bit of a treat, you know what. The guys, you know, you guys want to do seven pm Central here on YouTube and just having fun here, just having fun with everybody. So thank you guys. You guys share the link to the clubhouse channel. In the chat you were Shane either one of you. So yeah, hey, I might try to do it.
We're gonna sit out on our front porch with with our puppies. Are foster puppies that we're trying to get adopted. So bring them in man. Yeah puppy, yeah, exactly know. They have to fill out an application and get approved to what Now. We're not giving away puppies, but we're all get people interested in them. So that's a lot out of a You know, I get one kid every year who knows me and he's like, can I get a cigar? Can I get a radio? Move along?
Yeah? Yeah, come back with your buddy, yeah radio right right right. I'll send you some I'll send you some ball things you can give them right yeah, yeah, started, Thanks, Thanks, don appreciate you being here tonight. Good to see you as always. Chuck your next. What's up, buddy. I got a bunch of stuff. I'm going to jump on the bandwagon. I would buy a tiny s a Ultra and start checking
every radio I own and awesome that kind of stuff. I got a solar panel from a company sent me. It's it's huge, but it's one of those flexible ones. Yeah, it's like two water yeah. Oh and and by the way, Coffee and Hammer does have the big boy intennis in stock. We got a couple of hundred of them, so good. It's already made, guys, if you need them. Plus Nick, a couple of weeks, I'm going to Sokol and uh well, I'm going to try and do a couple of podas or a poda Minnesota when I'm there. I got
one day that I can do it. And sure, actually, mister Moto man and we can hook up and do one. How far is that from, Chuck? How far is Socol from you? It's well, we're about five hours okay. I'm going all the way to almost the San Diego so that's that's about eight or nine hours there. But I'm not quite going all the way but close, okay, Okay, doing something with the grandkids and my daughter and and I think hopefully my son's going to be there too,
and just stuff like that. I've got a I've got a bunch of I've got another thing I'm gonna do. It's kind of a cross between TV and ham radio thing. So good you put that seat, put that CB on the tiny SA and see what happens. Yeah. You know, Well, I didn't know that a bunch of a lot of Hams bought when when they went to forty channels, a lot of Hams bought the old twenty threes to make them for ten meters. I didn't I'd seen that before, but I
didn't realize that was a big deal, but I guess it was. Yeah, Hey, Chuck, am I able to get your contact from Dennis? Contact? Info from Dennis Waiteah for you, so I can reach out to you when you come down here. Sure you're we're on discord together, right? Yeah? Yeah, you guys hit each other on discord. That's that's the easy young guys. You know, they get excited, not just celebrities. See what happened, I guess man? Right, Oh, and you
guys make sure next year, you guys are all my friends. I need more friends. I'm going to need to hit Pacific On. I am going to try my best to go to the Pacificon next year. I had I had it. I had a ticket lined up, but I didn't have a place to stay. And when I told Dennis that, he was like, you could have stayed with me. Man. I'm like, okay, I got to hit up some people next year and see what happens. But yeah, I want to I want to go to Pacificon next year. Well,
so we're going to try to make that happen. So, but if you don't want to lcraft bringing someone out next year, So if you don't want to show up, that's fine too. Yeah, that's good. It's it's unusual for them to announce something at Pacific On and not they're local. That's why he said, ah yeah, let me do it there. Good. They're Monterey or Santa Cruz, Monterey. I knew they were in California. I didn't know we're in California by on the coast, Watsonville. That's it.
Okay, wow, Well thanks for being here, Chuck. Always good to have you on stream. Appreciate the time tonight, t O you're next. What's up man, Jed. Lots of stuff going on over here. I am full time RV. We talked about that we're going to be doing that live stream. My RV channel is Living for a Living Rv'll drop holding for that one. And uh, I do a bunch of r V stuff over there. Kind of a shocker on r V channel does r V stuff,
but I also do ham radio stuff. And one of the things that we do Monday nights, we have a live stream called ham Nuggets, And the whole purpose of that is we have no idea what we're doing. We're just going to try and figure it out together. And sometimes we figure it out in five minutes and then we just shoot the breeze for you know, the next hour and a half or so, and sometimes we don't figure it out at all. But that's kind of what Ham Radio is all about.
And I do believe you guys have dancing is great? Yeah yeah, hopefully you guys can join in sometimes and play along. This Monday night, we're going to be doing OP twenty five on a Raspberry pie with an SDR dongle, so we'll be doing you know, make you make your own scanner out of an if if I can get in on that, that'd be fantastic. But I get off work just as you guys start that stream and replay for the win. Yeah, well, I know, but I can. I
can help out just in case. Oh definitely. And you've got a cell phone. You could probably watch it on at work though, right Yeah no, I well, I get off work at four thirty Pacific that which is when the shot starts. Yeah, break through the parking lot in the car, you'll be fine, right, take me four minutes to get home. Well, Jesus come late then, Holy crap? Right, could make any excuses? All I hear is blah blah blah. Sometimes giveaway Shane Shane wants.
Shane wants to be on the stream because he's a P twenty five guy. You see, that moto. Man, that means he's a pea twenty five guy, That's what that means. Yeah right, So yeah, there you go. Thanks to you. Looking forward to uh to the to the RV live streams we're gonna do together, so they'll be fun. So yeah, you guys check that out. Thanks for sharing the link as well. Uh, Eric, you're next. What's going on? Man? Well, yeah, thank you guy for you know, wviting us on the stream.
It's been great to meet everybody here and you know, being the new and whatnot. But you know, I'm a small little channel, you know, so you can always check out my channel. I'll be dropping video hopefully soon. On our eight park rove that we did today. That was a blast. Somebody mentioned ten meters sorry seven todds were you know, we were targeting ten. It dropped to you know, the more realistic you know, seven,
So overall, ten meters was a blast the whole entire time. Literally out of the five or six parks we were on ten meters the whole entire time. And it was gangbusters, you know, were always having fun there. And you know, I'll be doing another video soon on my new beach you know, mobile radio I got a four FX four CR and a couple other items for that. So that's a great radio. I mean, for what it is, that's a great radio. I really like mine. Yep.
And you know, outside of that, you know, I'm just trying to boost some of my subs. So you know, I'm gonna be doing a giveaway soon so you know, we can get that hundred there. So you know, if you guys want to get in on that, head on over my channel. And as always, you know, Jason threw down the challenge of posting a video every week. I know I could probably get fifty two done before Jason gets his, you know, Deft Commander Bill. No,
we're waiting. We're waiting on shot Fire. We're gonna We're waiting on Shane. At this point, it's all up to Shane at the long time. Shane. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, it's been pasted. Yeah, that was pasted a month ago. Get this good month ago? About here, Shane, Shane knows, Shane knows who who I'm talking about here. Yeah, yeah, Shane, one of us news. Shane, you just said you're in the closet, buddy, I'm just gonna say that. Oh my, my, mistake, my mistake. I'm sorry. I'm sorry,
Eric, thank you for being on the chat, buddy. Uh Kyle, do you have a link to Eric's channel you can share in the chat? Yeah? What's what is it? Your call sign? Eric? You can do my call sign. You can also Dolfrey and Ham too. It's under the gotcha car Carlos's battery is dying. So thanks buddy, you guys. Thanks by Carlos's coffee. It's delicious. Yes, that's true. By Carlos Coffee. No, you can't not yet. He's working one. He's gonna, he's gonna, he's he's got a contract with somebody. But once
that's up, he's gonna be able to sell it publicly. So here's the I believe. Let's talk. Can we talk about this for just one second? No, no, because because we're going through we're going through goodbyes. So when you get to you, So Jim, Jim's next, Jim, what's going on? Man? Well? Coffee and him radio tomorrow morning. We've got a b R co X will be oh nice, very good testing on our show. We'll try and convince them that we all need to test
about a thousand feet of everything they have. I don't know if that's gonna work or not, but I'm gonna, you know, I'll do a show about him radio right right, Yeah, somebody's got to that clubhouse. And then I've got a couple of radios coming in for testing. I have a tid radio. Finally they decided to send us one. I'm like, well, you know, every other freaking channel on YouTube has done the tid radio. Thanks guys for thinking about the channel that's been doing the ship since I
started. Jim, you know, I thought you were saying other people's radio is coming in for testing. There's an idea. What you know, I've actually thought about that before. I've thought about that before, but I was also afraid of making sad hands. Your radio sucks. And you know, after you've tested one bow fan, I'm gonna I want to put the ted radio on my tiny essay and see how that works. Well, that's gonna that's gonna be a hilarious video. They're just gonna I've got three of them.
Yeah, I know, not the talk pod, not the talk the turdpod and yeah, and I know how that one's so. I got I got a couple of radios and I actually you've got Somebody mentioned it tonight. It might have been Shane Ginger Shane, but I've got a Motorola and I think I'm going to do a comparison side by side between the tid radio and the Motorola XTS three thousand on a real spectrum analyzer. Oh my goodness, and share that. So Jim's got all the all the fancy test equipment.
He does not complaints for that, because you're not comparing like apples to apples. Somebody's gonna bitch about it. I always do. Really, somebody's gonna bitch about a video. Like t O told me one time. It's interaction, it's engaging, right right, right, that's true, that's true. Oh yeah, yeah, thumbs downs an engagement too, right. So that kind of stuff. My channel is, you know, I just do whatever is interesting to me that week or that I'm messing with communication. Yeah cool,
I love that. That was great. Thanks for being here, Jim, you appreciate it. Somebody sure Jim didn't have mud either, Somebody sir Jim's channel in the chat as well. Okay, so Todd your next buddy. Uh yeah, we're just doing lift free and hammer. We're kind of just getting I'm learning. This is the first for me doing podcasts, YouTube and stuff. So it's been a good experience and I wanted to thank you know, Jason and Kyle. You know, it was great that you guys
came on. We kind of posted twice. You posted as a podcast version, then we did the YouTube version too, so I think you can find it on both platforms. Good hot, good, Kyle. Ryan wanted to let you let me know, let me tell you that he's watching live from Sweden. Oh nice, very cool. And we think we haven't got confirmation, but Eric and I were activating the park this morning and we got Ryan on ten meters and we got him and then he said, oh, I
got something to do. I got to go. We think he was flying the plate A few hours later he's like, I'm in. We have to start my descent. Yeah wow, oh gosh, that's aeronautical mobile. Yeah right right right, But I love those. Yeah, but you know, it's been we've been uh it's been great, Like today was a great I mean, we don't get eighty degree weather in New England very often in uh end of October, so we did that seven park and we really did it.
Because you guys were talking about you know, when you guys came on our show, you did the three or you know, the all the New England and nine states or whatever. So we're like, you know, let's see if we can get like nine or ten parks and we'll just run up the coast. And you know, we got up to seven and it was it was a good time. And like I said, we couldn't believe ten meters, Like I just left. The last time I did a pote activation was ten meters. Then TENNA was set for that was. Yeah. We
started off and we couldn't It was perfect. I mean we were just cruising along and then all of a sudden I just went dead. Yeah, we're like, better move to twenty. Yeah, but yeah, liffreinehand dot com. It's a it's an New England kind of New England podcast that we're trying to get going just to get people. The whole idea is just to get more people interested in let them know what we're doing here in New England, you know, and but we also you know talk you know, try to
promote Ham Radio throughout the country and everywhere. So it's all good, good, Well, thanks man. I appreciate y'all time tonight. Y'all are certainly welcome to come back next month or on these monthly happy hours that we do. So you guys make sure I know I've got your emails, but you and you and Eric both send me send it to me again, just so make sure I have it, and I'll put you all on the mailing list
as well. So thank you, appreciate your time tonight. Yeah, and we are going to plan an Acadia National National Park PODA for next fall, probably about a year from now. Yeah, so that's that's zero zer one right, that's that's Keilo zero zero zero one in East Maine. Y. Yeah, we might be we might be joining you for that one. Oh,
we're gonna we're gonna put it out there to everybody. Colin and I are gonna Colin and I have talked about well, I've talked about it with a bunch of people, but Colin I talked about it a little bit last month, and we're gonna we're gonna try to do that, so we and Frank's excited about that too, So we're definitely gonna put that together and make that happen. So yeah, you'll you'll be watching that. Appreciate that. Mike your next buddy. Oh hi, oh hi Hi Hi everybody, Hi
everybody. It's always fun. Yeah, thanks for thanks for hosting UH the Friday night entertainment for us. Jason. My name is Mike, call sign Kate em Ardi. I have a small little YouTube channel called him Radio Tube. So I don't listen. I never we we clarified this earlier. I never claimed to be a smart guy. Yeah, I review radios and stuff. People send them to me. That that yellow crappy talk pod right there, they send it to me, the gm the GMRS version, so like
anyway, it's actually all they make whatever whatever. So I got the I got the tiny ultra listen. I'm not that guy. Like, if you're looking for spurious emissions, you'll find him for me on HF. Okay. I'm a huge antenna nerd okay, Like antennas are where it's at for me. But equally I am a battery nerd. Okay. It's true. Batteries are kind of my thing. I like batteries. So this week on Ham
Radio Tube on Monday. Typically if you don't know the channel, I do a question, you know, ask you know, ask me things, and I answered them called mailbag Monday, real creative name. Right. Well, every now and again we get these comments that are just from mean people, and and I saved them in a folder on my computer called stupid Comments. My my wife watches those videos. She she thinks they're great. Your wife
is a saint, she is, I know. So every now, you know, when I store them up, I screen I screen capture them on my computer and save save the images. And when I have enough of those uh mean or stupid comments from the sad Hams, I dedicate a Mailbag Monday just to just completely exposing these people for who they are and just you know, calling them out for their negativity. I show their names, I show their their screen names, whatever I want people to know, so don't don't
mess with me. So that's coming up. They're just fun They're funny. They're funny as hell. And it's like the whole thing with Ham Radio and and and I say this in the beginning of this video. I'll give you a little preface. There's so much positivity and Ham radios in Ham Radio, and then there's these people. So there's that to look forward to on Monday. But for the next video. Getting to the whole battery nerd thing I just bought in this box is a is a tester for batteries capacity tester that
I'll be doing. I gotta shoot the review. But West Mountain Radio is not I actually I bought it off at Amazon. It's cheap, but it works. I was shooting the video yesterday and I already broke it. Why can I make a guess? No, no, but you already know what it is. But it works, it's actually, it's actually good. It was my fault. I broke it, which is not hard for me to
do. I love destroying things, uh, being a battery nerd, and like I'm looking at nine hundred amp hours of lithium iron phosphate batteries right now just by moving my head left. So you know, I build batteries, battery boxes. I have a I have a I have an ll C where I build and sell battery boxes. I've made Jason one, so look for
that. That's I'm excited for. I'm excited to have this because I've never had an actual like battery tester R. I'd always have to take those crappy inline watt meters and like hook up and inverter and and put on a light you know, or like five light bulbs on my little torcher lamp over here to drain it. But they're accurate lamp. Yea French fancy to be fair, so that if I don't break it. But it's actually this is actually really easy to fix. There's just a moss fat that does all the all
the draining good. So look for that. And uh, Carlos's coffee is the best. Yes, yes, I'm let me touch on that because I was. I was out of place when I said it earlier. I do not drink coffee. I don't really like coffee unless it's really good coffee. When I wake up in the morning, I drink a coke. Okay, that's that's my thing. And Jason can attesta this. We've traveled any times
I drink true, it's true. I usually do when it's hot outside to do the same, I drink duct pepper but still same, the same concept. Yeah, because it's it's just it's hard to find actual, like good tasting coffee, and Carlos's is. So I had two cops. I had two cups of coffee actually yesterday and this morning I made myself I bought a French Press because of Carlos's coffee. Yeah, yeah, that's yeah. I drank yesterday. I drank it out of my A R R L mug and
nice morning, I drank it out of my YESU mug. Yeah, they waiting for an icon mug I did. I did a vertical video of my YESU mug with the steam coming off the coffee. I haven't posted it yet, but yeah, it's yeah, that's whatever I bought. I bought a whole Chems pour over system when I got coffee. Yeah, I didn't know he wasn't selling it. I just texted him and I'm like, hey, I need because because he made me a cup. At Huntsville he had it.
He was hoouring out his wear. Yeah right, Good Game was there. I'm surprised he still had any left, but he did, right, But he had like a private stash. He must have buried it underground, so Good Game couldn't smell it or something. I don't know, but yeah, I think he brought enough. Just no good Yeah, so yeah, it's yes for around Good Game. Just watch your coffee, yes right, yeah, totally. If he doesn't have a cup of coffee to his hand
and you're next to him with coffee. You won't have coffee. That's his vice man. We got him week. Yeah, we had a rider we had to fill out to keep Ivy coffee available for Steve is he is he taller than you, Robert actually just barely shorter. Yeah. Wow, it's a it's a sight to see. It's a sight to see. Yeah, you're in the hand with us, and you got the guys on the hover rounds and then you got like us, normal white people and then there's two
Sam squampshes there. Yeah. Yeah, it's a Oh that's all I got. Thanks for having us and Kyle, thank you for the amazing stream before this. There's always a lot of fun. Thank you. That's all I got. Thanks Mike. All right, Kyle, it's you are closing this out. What's up, buddy? All right? So Kyle is zero Ze. On YouTube, I do a lot of c W stuff, Noe, Red, Poda, contesting flex. Here's some note Red, here's some flex.
A lot of things coming in the pipe here in the next couple of days, I got a video dropping on Sunday, and then Monday is our regular new CW Operators Round table at eight pm. After t O's Nugget stream, gonna be talking about improving your speed and more head copy stuff, so tune into that. If we run Lake Kyle, I send it people over to your stream and then you can send them back when you're done, we'll probably still be trying to figure it out, okay, like D Star,
right like d yeah yeah yeah. So and then on Tuesday after Clubhouse, I'm going to do my annual two years in a row here, So this will be the third a Halloween Pirate radio stream where we're just going to tune in all the pirate radio stations and take a listen and then get demonetized because that's a good idea. Yeah, they're playing music that we can't play on YouTube, so yeah, it'll be fun. That's a great idea. Charity event, yeah, yeah, we're giving back to YouTube. That's what we're
going to get that right, That's right. And then also I bought, like Jason said, I bought a new r V. Well it's a tear drop. It's not a r V a tear drop, and so I'm going to join the RV community probably in January of this year. So I created Yeah, sorry, next year, thank you, Shane. Yeah, did you buy the new guys on it? Yeah, he's listening. The new guy's listening. What did you say? Did you buy a new one a different one? I bought a new trailer, but I didn't buy a different
one. I bought a hiker trailer. Okay, so same one, same one. Yeah, Jason and I whenever we went out to more expo, we took a little some yeah, hiker trailers and doing some research. So I finally pulled the trigger and put it down payment and then yeah, I pick it up in January of twenty twenty four and it will make its appearance,
probably on the channel a couple of times. But I made a new YouTube channel for my adventures with the Hiker Trailer, so shot already a couple of videos on me actually putting the down payment and going through the Hiker Trailer showroom, and they gave me a tour. So I'll put something in the chat with the new YouTube channel. It's called r F Overland Adventures, so it's got a radio theme to it. But I didn't want to. I don't know what to call it. You know, you can change your name
on YouTube, who cares? So yeah, you should put a two point oh at the back radio stuff said earlier, there's got to be a ham Radio three point zero coming out this one series. Yeah, got three. But so so we have talked to a few of us, have talked tonight on this stream about Overland Esque if since you know themes and whatnot, Kyle and I and a couple of other people, we're gonna be doing some overlanding stuff next year. We're kind of jumping in with both feet to this.
I've dabbled in it for the last couple of years. So if you are in, if you are into that at all, I mean, I'm not gonna go through the whole list of stuff that I'm thinking about right now. We're definitely gonna do hamcom Zion in Utah next year, which is July, and uh and yeah, and we're gonna do We're gonna do Overland or we probably gonna do Overland East in Virginia which is about October of next year. And Kyle, I learned about a new festival, a new get together that's
the weekend after that, just today. So we're gonna be doing some stuff. Jason, I mentioned to you I wanted I had an idea that I wanted to talk to you about in terms of overlanding, right, yes, yeah, hit me out. Yeah, it's something I think you might get
someting. Okay, okay, geez absolutely yeah, yeah, yeah, no, no, we're yeah, you know, totally yeah, we're good and and and as and as I mentioned earlier, the more Expo in Springfield, Missouri next April, we want to get a big ham radio presence and we want to invade these guys. And just totally because I've been to in the last two years, I've been to five or six overland shows and the ones
we set up radios at and we're actually calling CQ. I was with Giga Parts at the Virginia show two years ago and we were hunting Poda because it was not a potas spot where we were. We were hunting PODA and I would just tune the dial and I'd find somebody. And we were in Virginia, and I'd find a guy in Michigan, or in Maine, New Hampshire, or in Texas or California or in Canada, and people would walk by
the booth. It was it's all outdoors, and people would walk by the booth and they're like, did that guy just say he was in Canada. I'm like, yeah, Like, what what Sulfhon network are you connecting to right now? I'm like, let me tell you you're Yeah, it's called
the Sphere of Baby. So it's it's it's, it's, it's, it's it's a I was talking to a buddy of mine this morning, West and we're gonna do a couple of videos together, and he's like, man, there is a rising interest of ham radio inside of the overland community right now. So we're there, Yes, absolutely, Shane. So so we are going to tap into that next year, Shane and Kyle and I and a couple other people. And if you're interested in that, you guys, Robert,
you guys are interesting. You guys are are welcome. Chuck. I know you're your way out West, Chuck. But it's cool because well, I mean, if we're going out that direction, we'll do some stuff there on the short list for the bed and the trailer adjacent for that that I'm not taking the trailer. It's a I'm not taking the trailer. I guess go to go to Frank. Yeah, Well, Frank Boughty. Frank bought a Gazelle tent so go go to Gazelle Tents dot com and check out.
They have some really good, high quality tents for not very much money at all, I mean less than less. No, they don't. They don't have an affiliate inexpensive less less than five hundred dollars. Yeah, less than the most. I can't. I can't, just like Mike Walmart twenty dollars. Well, there you go, less sleeping. You have an umbrella, you don't have to take it home. You don't have to store it all year either. Yeah. Anyway, for Yellowstone, yes, I'm taking my
date, yellows, We're not taking the roof. Yeah, no, So so seriously, seriously, Yeah, we are going to do some camping over landing. And I told Shane. I was talking to Shane a couple of weeks ago, and I'm like, dude, I'm all about the whole let's go overlanding on some trail somewhere inside of a poda park, a national forest, a national park, a state park that has some trails whatever. So
I'm all about that. So next year is going to be the year of let's go overlanding and oh yeah, let's do it in a PoTA spot. So I'm all about that doing that kind of stuff. So if if you want so, I just went to the more Expo website Jason tickets go and sale November first. Yep, remember what happened last year. We it was
jam packed in that in that camping spot. So I suggest we need to get We need to get tickets on November first for the camping because I hear that they're not going to put as many people in the camping spots as they did. And it's first comes open, it's first come, first serve. So you buy a camping ticket, but they give you a spot when you get there. You don't reserve a spot, right, But I mean so yes, so so yeah, that's that's why Shane and I wanted to get
there early. So yes, absolutely a good idea, Kyle. We can, we can, we can make that happen, because yeah, I really want to get I was like anybody who is in the vicinity of Springfield, Missouri, it's about six hours for Shane and I to drive up there. I think it's like three for Kyle if you are willing to drive out there, and Robert, if you want a carpool with this, you're welcome to
do that. If if you want to drive out there or even fly out there or something t o Mike, you guys are of course welcome to. We want to get a big Ham radio presence out there. I want to set up the hexsbeam and have people walk by the campsite and say, what the hell are you guys doing with that? The hex is that? Yeah, what the heck's is that? That's right? So yeah, I want to I want to do a big Ham radio presence out there. It's a
fun show. It's a really fun show. So and we'll go to do so we'll leave during the middle of the afternoon, go do a poda as well. It's just a parking lot poda. It's not fun, but it's it's a PoTA in your log. So yeah, we want to do that next year. So that's going to be a fun show. Not as fun as Zion in July, but it's going to be a fun show anyway. Just uh, just keep that in mind, put that on your calendar. Moreexpo dot com. It's gonna beautiful, man. Yeah, I've not been
out there that we're actually looking for a trailer right now. So that's that's one of the reasons I want to get out there. I want to see all the crazy stuff that they've got. Yeah, yeah, and I will convention center what I said, Oh sorry, I said I didn't even know Saint George had a convention center in Utah. Oh yeah, I've never been out to that part of Utah. So the convention center, yeah, okay, I would say eighteen and it was gorgeous. Good. I'm never I'm
looking forward to that one. I will say, if if, if you're one of these guys that go to Ham radio shows and complain about the prices, do not go to an ovalance ship. Ham Radio is do not. I got a hell of a deal though on wheels and tires at X Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah you did. You got a good uh good Yeah. Joe Brett posted in the chat earlier he put More Expo in his calendar. It's close to the Mississippi, buddy, it's close to Mississippi.
Let's let's do it the way. Yeah. They've been running a they've been running a sale on that for last week or so. So we will absolutely do a Sunday live stream a month or so before More Expo in April and try to and try to promote it and get people into it. So I'll bring several of these guys on to do that. But yeah, put that on your calendar. It's gonna it's gonna be fun. So I appreciate everyone's time tonight. Thank you for those of you who hung with us to the
chat. We've been going for more. Wow two and a half hours. Yeah that's a long yeah, yeah, that's right. That's a Clovehouse stream. Well the difference is radio. Well that's one. That's one different radio, that's one at the end of the show. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I don't think anybody can be nine hours. I don't think anybody No, probably not, no, probably not, but Jim, Jim has a Jim has a point. But there was there was no uh, there was
no drinking. There was no dancing to super chats in this stream. So thank god, thank you doing that. Yeah yeah, so I threw out a hip one day. It was terrible. So thank you to everybody who joined the chat. Thank you to the guys who joined in the zoom. I appreciate you all's time tonight. We will reconvene next month.
