read some sort of blog post from from this website. I follow that I'm on their email list, either on the fourth or sometimes on Veterans Day, sometimes on Memorial Day, this kind of thing. But this came across my email pretty early this morning, and it's something I was like, you know what, I'm gonna read that today. So that's just how it is. You're on my stream and you got to listen to me, So sorry about that. This is um a bit historical and about the Constitution. I don't

want to get political. IM not going to talk about really politics or anything current affairs. This is kind of how a little bit of history about a little a very little bit of history about how the country was founded. So our cause is noble. It is the cause of mankind, which is a quote from George Washington. Everybody's going to ask for that link here in a second. So there it is honor, justice, and humanity. Forbid us

tamely to sur render that freedom which we receive from our gallant ancestors. They talk so eloquently in the seventeen hundreds which our innocent posterity have a right to receive from us, in other words, our children. We cannot endure the infamy and guilt of resigning succeeding generations to the wretchedness which inevitably awaits them if we basically entail hereditary bondage upon them, in other words, bondage of repressive

governments. Which read the Declaration of Independence and everything it says about King George, if you want some reference on that, that was a quote from Thomas Jefferson and the Declaration of the Causes and Necessities of taking up Arms in seventeen seventy five. We hold this is a quote from the Declaration of Independence itself. We hold these truths to be self evident. That all men are created equal. In the parlance of those times, men means mankind. So men

and women are created equal. That's read the entirety of the Declaration of Independence. I believe that to be true. They are endowed by their creator with certain unalienable human rights, among which are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. That to secure these rights, governments are instituted among men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed. In other words, the government derives its powers from the people. That's the way the declaration of

Independence and the Constitution is written. On July third, the day before the continent of Condrasus affirmed our declaration of independence, as noted in my column. This is the author of this blog post, writing right now Independence Day and our legacy of liberty. John Adams wrote to his wife Abigail that the fourth of July ought to be commemorate quote ought to be commemorated as the day of deliverance from solemn acts of devotion of God to God Almighty. He continued,

start quote again. It ought to be solemnized with pomp and parade, with shoes shws. I don't know what that is, games, sports, guns, bells, bonfires and illuminations from one end of this continent to the other, from this time forward and forevermore yet, bonfire, fireworks, guns, celebration. That is what today is about, about the celebration of the founding of this country and the declaration of independence of this country. The defensive liberty

requires eternal villigence. Shortly after the Patriots Day battles of Electington Concord, fifteen months earlier John Adams second cousin, Samuel Adams. Hey there's a name. Samuel Adams declared, the people alone have an incontestable, unalienable, and defeasible right to institute government and to reform, alter, or totally change the way the same, totally change the same when their protection, safety, and prosperity

and happiness require it. In other words, they have the right to make changes to govern themselves, and have the right to make changes to those rules they set for themselves on those who would not rise to defend the arm Adams wrote, if we love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility or of servitude than the animating contest of freedom from go from us in peace. May your chains sit lightly upon you, and may posit posterity. Forget that you were,

that ye were our countrymen. That's important right there. On this day our nation celebrates independence, I invite you to read about the history of Independence day and the foundational unalienable rights of man. These are linked from this article that I just shared in the chat for a complete context of our nation's founding and the progress toward the fulfillmentive liberty enshrined in our Declaration of Constitution. Read

the Patriots Primer on American Liberty. Note that you can purchase it. Purchased this book and whatnot. Reflecting on the American Revolution in eighteen eighteen, this is a good quote here. John Adams observed, but what do we mean by the American Revolution? Do we mean the American War? Question mark? The revolution was affected before the war commenced. The revolution was in the minds and hearts of people, a change in their religious sentiments, of their duties

and obligations. This radical change in principles, opinions, sentiments, and affections of the people was the real American revolutions. So, in other words, the human need for liberty and freedom, the American need for liberty and freedom, and thus it has remained in the hearts, in the minds and hearts of American patriots to this day. I probably end with this right here. As President Ronald Reagan warned, freedom is never more than one generation away from

extinction. We didn't pass it on to our children in the bloodstream. It must be fought for, protected, and handed down for them to do the same, or one day we will spend our sunset years telling our children and our children's student what it once was like in the United States where men were free. To that end, we remain vigilant, strong, prepared, and faithful. So Happy Independence Day and never forget where this country came from. That is that is the thing. So all right, let's um, let's

Um, I couldn't hear him, but I well, I couldn't hear him on my radio, but I heard him on your stream, and I'm like, no, uh so let me try. And then I heard myself on your stream. But man, I couldn't hear you on the radio at all. So um and with the thirty second delay, I didn't hear you.

Ask me what about my stream? So oh, okay, yeah I could. I could hear you, but you were so far down in the noise I couldn't tell what you were saying. The only reason I knew it was used because you had you, I had you on the stream, so but that was but that that was okay. Yeah. So I'm Colin c Q right now on FTA twenty ft eight at the party. I was hunting, as I was watching Frank stream. Just in the last thirty to forty five minutes, I worked five thirteen Colony stations on twenty meters side band nice. I just I just started tuning up and down the band. I heard some I heard a couple of them calling. I just went back to him and most of them I got on the first run the Kilo two um which one was it? Kilo two kilo in New Hampshire. I went back to him several times. He never came back to me, so

I couldn't make contact with him. But got I got Bravo, Echo, Foxtrot, Juliet and Mike. You're almost half the Yeah, yeah, I got two stations this morning. I'm doing that at Poda. Yeah. What I was just before I started going live, I was just bumbling around the bands like you do, and I stumbled across them. I was like, oh, good. Yeah, well, um, let's see where did it go? There? It is right there. So this is the thirteen Colonies event. This is a seven day event for those who don't know. This

is a seven day special event July first to the seventh every year. And there's K two Alpha through K two Mike, and then there's three bonus stations and if you get all thirteen of the of the original thirteen colonies, you can submit for a like a certificate that hangs on your wall, which is pretty cool. So but Kyle, I know last year, Kyle, you did a clean so they call it a clean sweep if you get everything. You did a clean sweep last year on three different modes. If I'm not

mistaken, I did. Yeah, I went all out and just like I'm gonna I'm gonna get a clean sweep on CW, single sideband and digital and like the last day, I think I got the France station on FT eight or something and that was my one station that was I couldn't get and I saw them. No, actually it was on CW. I'm sorry, it

was on CW. So I had him. I had him spotted on the our Hamm alert on the reverse beacon network, and like last day, four hours before the contest was supposed to be are the event was supposed to end, got them. So it must be nice to have a superstation. Well, it's nice to have a superstation when you have power to the superstation. Well yeah, yeah, when you say superstation, it's not just a really

tall antenna, but power is usually assumed. You need power to run radios, to run remote stations, to power the towers to get the signal out. Definitely, very true, very true. As we talked, we talked bad about Steve long enough, he'll finally join. So what's up Man? Oh well, oh no, well you got the poor poor cell signal, but you're in there. Thanks for joining. Man uh forty five says he only has five, but he managed to get TM thirteen col. I don't

think that. Uh. I don't think I've ever worked. I think the only special event or I'm sorry, the only bonus station I've worked and all the years I've done this was, Um, what are they? What are the three special events or three bonus stations? Uh? You made four thirteen colonies? Yeah? Uh WM WM three pen yeah, GB thirteen col and TM thirteen. I don't think I've ever worked in those two overseas ones.

I've done wm M three PEN a few times, but I don't think i've ever worked h the France, the English and the stations now so groups. So I just realized I'm calling KM five tr Well, if if Noel created an account, then upload that stuff. But I'm just going to change my CALLI give the club to give the clubs some credit because you'll get credit for it too. True, it's it's kind of to be, Frank, a pain in the butt to um to do that, because you got it.

I just got an alert saying CAN five trs on twenty fifty eight. It's my bad, my bad. No, No, you're good man, Frank, summit the log. I'll upload it, I'll do it, I'll get it done. I know how to do things. I'm like one of the two. So submitting a podolog has to be one of the easiest tasks to do in amateur radio nowadays. Yes, it's it's easier than setting up your radio for FTA. Can you not, Well, there's only one there, um, the club, the officer of the the trustee of the call sign

has to submit. Is that correct? Okay, that's great. Yeah, ok yeah, okay, So doesn't that seem annoying for large clubs with um the the Wee four Adventures Ueah, because they when you sign up for that that role, you gotta assume that responsibility. That's right, that's right. Yeah. What's his name is? It? Is it Kentucky Fried Chris or whatever his name isn't discord? I think he's something like that. He's the

guy. Hum. Yeah, it's it's like whenever you you sign up to be a secretary or treasurer for a club and you're just like, I don't want to do anything with numbers, and you're just like, wait a minute, that's your job. Yeah, hold on, Carlos Is send me a message. Get him up, says, get him get get him live being jumped to our shooting himself out of a plane, right, he says,

uh, he just he just replied to me. Um, and he says, if you're going along, I'm hoping to do a radio jump in about an hour, so presumably that means around like one pm, uh Texas time, which would be eighteen hundred UTC. So we'll see, we'll yeah, and we'll probably go till then. But I just invited I was like, hey, joined the zoom and announce it. If you like he should, he should stream it live him jumping out of a plane. Actually somebody launching

him out of a plane. How about that? Yeah? I better yet, put him in like a Roman candle tube and shoot him out of a plane. Oh yes, do that with some fireworks, Meerica, So yeah, absolutely do that. Can you imagine Carlos being shot out of a cannible any jackass? And yeah, and he's wearing and he needs to wear like the um the Uncle Sam outfit like Apolo creed Ward in the Rocky movies. Like this for a fundraiser. You have a raffle, have a raffle,

and whoever who are wins gets to kick him out of the plane. That's awesome. That's what we said. Uh, I am committing my full tank radio funds behind the idea. I have all of three dollars. Yeah. Okay, So if Carlos comes on, we have we have a challenge for him for next year fourth of July. Yeah, yeah, yeah, that's yeah, that's uh yeah, we got a whole year to plan that. I guess that'd be good, that'd be nice. It was. It was Okay, I just yeah, a lot of a lot of talk in the

chat about thirteen Colonies. Yeah, so I would like I did not get a clean sweep last year. I missed it by like two. I think I would love to get a clean sweep again. I got a clean squeep a couple of years ago. But me being me, and I'd never see. You have to get a clean sweep to get the certificate, I believe. So I think you can do individual QSL cards to all the individual stations and they'll send you a QSL card for that special event station individually. I

believe. I believe that's true if I'm not mistaken. Okay, all right, so, but yeah, to get the actual thirteen Colonies special Event certificate, which is like an eight and a half by eleven sheet of paper, like you know, like when you submit to a log Book of the World for worked All States or whatever other awards you get, they come in that size so you can hang it on your wall in that way. But yeah, you can. You can get individual QSL cards for all the stations,

but to get everything, you have to get the thirteen Colonies. You don't have to get the three bonus stations. But most people try to do that also, So I would just like to get the thirteen the thirteen colonies myself. But I think the I think the bone are the three outside of the United States. I think that their bonus station, so correct. I think that you can get it two or is it two or three because whiskey mic three pen is inside of the United States. Yeah, that's true, that's

true. I don't know. So, hey, truth, I haven't looked in the rules in a while. Let's take it a look, um clean sweep. Oh who cares? Yeah, I've already lost interest, are you? Are you particularly last year and it was just just thirteen and the W three pen so they gave me the ship. Get off of that, right. I thought you just needed that. I thought you just needed the thirteen

and not any of the bonus station. Now Blake in the chat is saying the according in thirteen Colonies website, you do not have to get all thirteen to get a certificate. So yeah, I don't, I don't. I wonder if the certificate differs then, but hey, we're all about participation of participation trophies apparently, so yeah, yeah, yeah, that's the thing. But it's a fun event. It's a it's a really fun event. Um. I wish that I had a better antenna set up so I could I

wish I had my hex beam set up so that I could point. In fact, I was gonna say I was gonna set up the buddy hecks this week, and it was so easy to get these five. I'm on my on my dipole just now. I'm just like, maybe I'll just keep going with this. I don't know, um, but we'll see. Yeah. On the certificate page, it says how to get your certificate, and it

basically, you know, outlines how to how to grab the certificate. But it doesn't say anything about the qualifications for a certificate, doesn't say anything about it. Maybe you just need to participate in the event. Maybe it is a participation thing, but hey, we've all gone light. It's if you show up, you get a participation trophy. You win, right, all right? Yeah, so you know what the most important thing is to take when you're on a long activation. What's that? Water? Much? Oh?

You don't have to get a clean sweep but yeah, but I wonder if I wonder if there's is there a different certificate for clean sweep? We're gonna leave early in the morning, which is what we did last year. We'll leave early in the morning and we'll and it's about a ten hour drive with no with without pulling a trailer. So you know, it's probably eleven twelve hours total with stops, pulling trailer.

Blah blah, blah, definitely, so you always say that, but always right, No you're not. You weren't right last time. But uh, okay, but um, it is I mean it is long, it's it's actually I think it's like ten and a half hours with no stops according to Google Maps, so I usually add one to two hours something like that. But um, but I have the campsite reserved Wednesday night through I don't

remember if I reserved it Sunday. I think I did. I think I reserved it through Sunday night so that we didn't have to check out at ten am Sunday morning. Yeah, we will probably, yeah, we will. Probably we'll go. We'll drive out during one day. We'll be there Wednesday evening night sometime, and then we will probably leave Sunday afternoon something like that and drive about halfway back and stay somewhere Sunday night. Which, yeah,

we don't have to wait this year. This year. I'm sorry. Last year we had to wait because I dropped the trailer off at that place I bought it in Huntsville on Monday morning. We don't have to do that this year. I'm starting on twenty meters, hoping to get some of the oddball bands in as well, but at the very least, I'm starting on twenty fourteen two five nine. Right now looks open everywhere, So that's what I'm sticking with for this jump. So if you are Jonesy for q SOO parachute mobile, I'm in about seventy five minutes, eighty minutes or so. I'll be on the air. Nice, very cool. Okay, you said two five nine fourteen two five nine. I've checked

six different webst drs and I found them free, found it open. I should say, you know the wild Net's gonna gonna Yeah, the wild net will find you over there. That's their that's their their auxiliary frequencies. Yeah, they have like seventeen backup frequencies in case they don't. I am at the drop Stone this weekend. I've been there. I've been here since Friday

afternoon. It's been fantastic. Nice. Frank knows the feeling. I I think that a couple of you will know the feeling of skydiving sooner or later. Um, let's see, he was about seven or eight hundred watch hours, which you need four thousand watch hours and thousand subscribers to

become monetized on YouTube. Four thousand watch hours in the last three hundred and sixty five days, yes, and he's it like three nine nine so probably actually like like eighty watch hours. Actually they lowered it now, YouTube just lowered the standards for getting monetized. Oh really on regular videos or on shorts. Because the shorts on regular videos I believe it's five hundred now and like two thousand watch hours or something about it a couple of days ago. I

think that's just shorts. I think yeah, because Joe Brett was he showed showed us a screenshot this morning that he was still not monetized. But you know what else would help with that? If Joe Brett actually put out videos. Yeah, I mean I wasn't gonna go there, but yes, yeah, yeah, it always helps to actually make videos when you're on YouTube. Yeah, nine hours, he says, he has nine hours left to go, So leave. I will leave my laptop running on a playlist of Joe

So we we had like three of these we had like um tequila, triple second, sweet and sour all separate, so we just mixed them there and then you pour it in a water bottle. So it's I mean, it's it's one hundred and five degrees out. Nobody's gonna suspect you of drinking a Poda rita out of a water bottle. So true my pro tip of the day. But they will now stream. cookies I have. I have the one I have the I have the one that came with the UH cigarette lighter cable that I put power poles on. So I have and that that's the one that I ran the fridge on all weekend. But inside of the fridge was a AC cable and it now it's gone. It disappeared over the weekend, So it's probably you can probably get

those on Amazon. It's probably not a big deal. But somebody, you store your cable is exactly the way I store mine, because I kept the AC thing in my cooler right and then when I ran out of battery when we when we hooked it up to the UH the eco flow, I was using my UH yeah well, and and my my ice I had two fridges

there. My ice co had cables in it as well, and those are still there, but the one from that bang good fridge is missing, so somebody, somebody took it because it was there when we got there, So it's probably just shir it'll show up. It's probably it's probably next to that jumper cable you accused me of take, and now that thing's going, it's probably sitting in the camper. You should make a list. I didn't use it that weekend, so I don't know how it would have gotten taken out

of the cooler. So someone else had to have taken out of the cooler and mistaken it for something because I didn't use it. I didn't plug my cooler into one hundred and twenty volts all weekend, so I wouldn't have had a need to use it. But I don't think I even went no. I had my I had my hater aids in there, didn't I know? Well, you had your cookie if you had those chocolate chip those chips away cookies in there, and it was sitting right underneath that bag of cookies.

thirty cents a month or whatever it is. And people don't understand that Google is notorious for changing stuff and not telling that anybody, or if they do, they're very either cryptic about it or they say in the next coming weeks and then four months later, yeah it applies to you. So and it's in my master plan to hopefully get everybody on the Flex radio for contesting, because right now we're just whenever we're down at the locations or at the contest station, we're running Kenwood nine nineties, which the harshness after contesting for twelve sixteen hours. It's just it's night and day difference between the hash harshness of

that Kenwood versus the Flex. So the TS nin nineties like their flagship though, I would think that that had pretty good filtering in Yeah, but the thing that radio is twenty years old, man. Yeah. Plus, it's true that the issue with contesters and we do multiops down there is I don't like the only time I get on that radio is whenever I contest. I don't know what any of the other buttons do. I don't know, like

sometimes I don't even know how to change bands, you know. So if we have one set of radios that a lot of people have, and then also it's kind of set and forget in the Flex world, it makes it a lot easier, that's true. Gesturing you can do profiles also right right if you Yeah, you can set it the way you like and then name name a profile to your call sign, and then when you sit down at the radio, bring up your profile and you're ready to go yep, that

is true. You know what's unfortunate. I guess there's only one booth that you really buy a Flex from. So we're not gonna be able to We're not gonna be able to film you going from booth to booth with bleeping with him. Well, you know what, you know what we could do?

No at Joe Brett. What we could do is I could go over to different booths and ask them if they have a Flex radio or two to sell Reaction right, and then they say no, we don't sell Flex radios, and I was like, God, go over the next You know what you do is you go tell Gigaparts you want to buy one, because they sell all the amplifiers now or the amp, the tutor genius, the attendagy, they sell everything but the radio right, and say okay, I want to

sixty six hundred, And then you have Steve and Steve would probably play along with you. Then you have Steve in there He's like, uh, we don't have that, and you're like, rest that you can hand them Jason or Mike's code for five percent off, right, that's right, Yeah, I want this. Yeah right, that's that's odd that Gigga parts. I'd never thought about that, Jason Gigga parts are Joe Brett. They sell all but the radio, Like, why don't they sell the radio. I don't

know why they don't sell the radio. I'm not sure why they did that. But Flex has made which you already know this, Kyle Flex has made their tuners and antenna switches and amplifiers um almost one compatible with other brands of radio. So Kim would, Yazu Elcraft will, we'll match up with with the Flex um peripherals very nicely. Probably probably not as probably not as succinctly

as a Flex radio does. But you can. You can totally get to when there's a freaking dirt douver on top of my monitor here, just sitting there, just crawling across. Uh, So yeah, you can get to. You can get a power genius or a tuner genius or whatever to sync up with pretty much any radio. Yeah. I think any decent amplifier made today probably has that ability, right, I think that's yeah, Yeah, I know that the kPa five hundred that I have works very well behind behind

a nice seventy three hundred. Yeah, I don't know. I don't know jack crap about amplifiers, but I think anything made recently has got some type of um, you know, input that takes the frequency or it has a frequency counter in it and it instantly tunes or and you know, granted if you've got a resonant antenna, but it it puts out power well. And the the kPa five hundred doesn't do bands switching like that, but well,

you can get it, but you can. You can do manual bands if if you do manual band switching, all it is is an RCA cable between the radio and the alum. Yeah that's what I mean. Yeah, yeah, yeah, so you can. You can do it. You can set it up a little bit more intricately than that and do band switching, but you don't have to do that. Just pay attention to your bands. So but it's good, it's good, it's good. Ample. I really like that kPa five I'm gonna do a I'm gonna take it out and do a

photo video with it soon, So that's gonna be fun. Yeah anything, fuh, sorry, flex. Anything Flex makes us great. Anything Elacraft makes is great. Also, Yes, yeah, Ellocraft stuff is really good. But um, there's a straight shot south down Interstate forty five. So they announced they were closing the state park, which I think it's still open, isn't it. They changed something.

It's open during the day. Yeah, but I think that I think the state is getting that whole Uh oh, what the hell is it? I think? Oh yeah, yeah, that's like that's that's going on, which I didn't think was going to happen, but so they might they might be saved. Okay, so yeah, So so they announced they were closing it and because I think the person or group or company that owned it didn't want to renew the lease or whatever something like. I don't remember the exact story,

but for some reason it was changing hands. They were going to shut down the state parks. So we're like, hey, let's go activate this before you can't anymore. Be a cool, cool thing to have in your log. So we went down there and my buddy Maurice came five RF. He went down there and he camped for like a week and a half. If you go out there, and look, I think he's still top activator on that park. But so we go out there and we're hanging out on

a Saturday afternoon. Frank's there and Mike, did you come down that day? No, I was down right, And so we're sitting there with and I got Electro on a leash and she's tied to the table, the picnic table we're at, and the park ranger comes by and he's like, you can't have a dog out near the water because there's a swimming area about one hundred and fifty feet that way, probably two hundred and fifty feet that way. He's like, you can't have a dog near the and there's there is

a sign. He's like, well, there's a sign, and there was this and I didn't see the sign, but I'm like, well, there's no sign. But he was right. There was a sign, but it was kind of like off to the side, and I didn't see it when I was pulling it. There was no sign right there where we were, But as you're driving in, there was a sign. So I'm like, well, okay, that's that's awfully strange because I've had this dog at one

hundred different parks throughout the state of Texas. Well, not not throughout the state of Texas, but like twenty or thirty parks in the state of Texas, and and he's like, well, they're all that way, and I'm like, no, no, they are not all that way. No. I'm like, no, they I can promise you. Oh no, I worked for all But I'm like, dude, I'm telling you you want to do this here, fine, you got to sign up. Fine, okay, I'm not arguing with you about that, but tell don't tell me they're

all that way in the state of Texas. That is untrue because I've had this dog in thirty parks in the state of Texas. So no, so I put the dog in the truck. No big deal. And then over the next hour and an hour, hour and a half as we continue to operate, and it was a nice cool day outside, that cracked the window. It wasn't hot. People freaking, oh you put your dog in the truck. It was not. It was like fifty five fifty degrees outside. We were wearing jackets and she was fine. But uh, and I check

on it every now and then too. But yeah, over the course the next hour and a half was we were out there, at least a half dozen people showed up and brought their dogs out of their car and took them down to the water, not where even I was. And that's that trooper was never to be seen again. He never came back, not when I was there. And I'm like, yeah, this is a really enforced rule here. He got here, pal, this was a state trooper in a

in a state park. Yep. Wow, yep. Just shows that Karen's and Kevin's all were uniforms sometimes right, Yeah, it wasn't the state park police. It was an actual state trooper. I believe it was a state Well, no, it was a Texas State park trooper. Anger. It was a ranger. Yeah, okay, yeah, okay, No, no, no, it wouldn't. It wouldn't. It wouldn't a dot guy. No, it was a um it was a park ranger. Yeah, but you know the park the park rangers, they worked all the parks, you

know, they're not usually tied to one park. Sometimes they'll go to other parks and work, right. Yeah, I just I heard state trooper. I was thinking, oh, you know a highway state you know. No, no, no, no, he was a he was a park ranger. He so he he should have known what he was talking talking about. But later Steve, thanks for joining bud. Ye see you guys there were good well man and yeah, but yeah he was he was completely wrong about

yeah, but dogs not being allowed in other parks. So and also one other thing about that, that PODA activation is there's been thirty or forty people that have activated the arch And I tell him my my video a story where I came down and caught somebody that they were the rules of PODA state that your antenna and your radio and you have to be in the park like you just can't throw a line over a sign and say, oh, it's in the park now, and I'm gonna, you know, set on the thing.

And I caught somebody I don't know who it was, and at the time, I didn't feel like, you know, being a Karen and so I came down and they were setting on the side of the road with their co acts across the sidewalk and their antenna in the national park. And I'm like, hmm, that's not legal, but you know, people are gonna do what people are gonna do. So yeah, I did that one time

at Galveston because they will. It's it's ambiguous and and and I looked at it later and I'm like, oh, no, this was totally legal. But it's like you can park the Super Secret, which is not that big of a secret that that that Mike and I activate out sometimes. It is on the very edge of the park on the beach, and they had that section of the park closed down for a couple years while they were renovating. But you can't close the beach because the beach is imminent domain. The beach

is public domain. So we I would park on the sign that said Galveston Island State Park is behind here, and I would park there and put my antenna out over the over the edge and I would activate. And I didn't know that at the time. I was like, wait a minute, that's not legal because you're intenta, you're radiating from there. That that only makes sense. But if you go look at Google Maps, that whole area is actually part of the park. They just put the defense that you can't drive

on or that you can't drive past. They put it inside the park. Yeah, so you're inside the park the whole time anyway, So it didn't really matter. But I was just like, I thought that that rule was strange that your radio had to be inside the park. I'm like, I thought, you if your antenna was inside the and we're talking about six feet here, yeah, talk about you know your intenna's inside the park, that should count. So I always thought that was a weird rule. But whatever.

We play this game every year from Missouri Cuso party where people claim to be on county lines, and I wish that they would just remove the county line rule and just make it fun and just be in the spirit of the contest. But if you take a look at bing maps, open street maps, Google Maps, and the topo map for or the the county line map on the county website. They all have four different locations of where the county lines are located. Oh wow, that's gotta be Yeah, so you know,

yeah, they put in the rules. Oh, you have to go to the you know, you have to go to the courthouse and you got to check out the map and then some you know, Mabel has to bring it to you on parchment paper and then you got to figure out like you know, I'm just like, guys, we gotta quit this. Yeah. Wow, that is just and I'm looking at Google Maps right now. That is just inside the park? It is? Is this just in fact, that road from three thousand and five where we take, Yeah, that road

is technically inside the park. And so so when you turn on that road, you're technically because I I've seen people when you turn on that road and you're driving towards the beach. I've seen there's a little pull off section over there to the right, and I've seen guy, I've seen our v guys parked there before, and I drove by one time there was a guy in a big coach motor coach and he had an intenta up I'm like, oh, he's got an intenta up, So I'll go down there in the park

and I sit up and he comes walking down like twenty minutes later. He's like, hey, are you doing podos? Like yeah, He's like, yeah, I'm up there. He goes, I don't know if I'm in the park or not, and I'm like, yeah, you are. You're You're on that side of the road, so you're good. But yeah, I mean some guys, because you can't get that motor coach down there on the sand. You know, you got you got that row of pylons down

there where we do the poda on the beach there. So if you're park you put your antenna on the inside of the pylons where the actual beach is whatever is that still considered you're in, Yeah, park is inside. You don't we don't have to go through those pylons. But okay, right, so you can't. Yeah, so Kyle's got it pulled up here. This is a good Uh that's exactly where I'm not sure how you knew where we

were, Kyle, but that's exactly it. Um. But yeah, you see that that that thirteen mile road right there, that's inside the green areas the park and so that road that we drive down, and then there's beach right here. You can't see on Google Maps or on that that image right there, but that whole uh yeah yeah, that whole area right there.

There's also a set of pylons this just to the left or that circle Kyle just drew where you can't you you can't drive pat because certain parts of the beach you can drive in park on certain you can't, So they put those pylons there so that you can't. Yeah, you can see it right, yeah, yeah, but you're inside the park that whole time, so you don't even have to cross the pylons. You can sit in your view.

And I've done this once I figured this out. I went down there and I activated from the truck on I see seven thousand for a for a video I made. I gave you crap for that too, because I'm like, you're not in the park, Yeah I know. Yeah. I was like actually yeah, yeah, yeah, because I didn't know where the lines were, so yeah, but yeah, I did a vehicle activation from there one

time and made some contacts. But it well, and as we learned before, you're gonna stet up a d X command or you want to be towards the top of those pylons, Yeah, be more towards the grass, don't your parts? Yeah? Yes, yes, when the tide's coming in, you constantly have to move the antenna. Yes, you do. That's good, good deal, Mike. You want to talk about that activation you're gonna do with the Biowinno Oh that yeah. So I'm actually I'm actually working on

my DX commander antenna right now. I'm filming the video for a for a mod that I'm doing to it. But um, yeah, so I don't know when it's gonna happen. We've we've we've been planning it for a year at least, but side Boom and I have been wanting to do this thousand and want pot to activation. He's got an amplifier, uh, and we're gonna use the DX Commander because the DX Commander will handle that much power.

Uh. So Kevin I told ket I was telling Kevin from Bioweno about this at Dayton, and I'm like, you know, what would would you be interested in, like sponsoring the video and supplying the batteries. So he hooked me up with a couple three hundred amp batteries, uh three three hundred AM power batteries and a couple of hundred AMP power batteries to see what they'll do. So we're gonna do a battery power Allison Watt Poda activation EIC. Well,

so he says, the amp draws like eighty amps max. So even so we have six hundred amp hours of capacity, really eight hundred, but I've I've already got the all the wires and everything, so I put the batteries in in parallel. Um, so six hundred amp hours should last us with a thousand wat amp quite a quite a long time. Now. Eighty amps seems a little low if you think, well, maybe not, because I think on an FT eight, my seventy three hundred draws about maybe sixteen

if we're if we're doing maybe maybe twenty max for one hundred amps. When you're when you're keyed down twenty to twenty two thousand watts and only push only drawing eighty amps seems low, That's what he said. So I don't know, Yeah, I don't. I don't. I don't have any amplifiers, so I don't. I don't really know anything about him. But you're gonna do sideband, I assume. So yeah, it's not gonna be one hundred percent duty cycle anyway, which can I could lasts longer, So yeah,

Yeah, because I mean even if it'd be interesting test to see, like you know, keep in mind, you know, older houses at even one hundred and twenty volts, Like my house had sixty amp service and I upgraded it to one hundred amp service, you know, yeah, twenty five years ago. So somehow is don't even have one hundred amps coming into them. So right, m I don't know. I don't have an app, Like Mike said,
