The Child

This week we find the crew of the Enterprise on their way to provide emergency medical help in the Rachelis System, however they encounter a medical mystery of their own. In this season 2 premiere we are introduced to Dr Katherine Pulaski, who finds her first task as the Enterprise's Chief Medical Officer isn't to stop a plague but to see Counselor Troi through a surprise pregnancy. Captain Picard and the rest of the Senior Staff do not handle it well, but all is not what it seems. Meanwhile, Wesley Crusher grapples with the decision whether to stay on the Enterprise or join his mother on Earth. He seeks guidance from another new crew member, Guinan, the new manager of 10 Forward. Will DeAnna have a successful pregnancy and a healthy baby? Will Wesley stay on the Enterprise? Will Riker get over himself? Will Pulaski and Picard hate each other? Is Guinan the smartest person on the ship? Will they make it to the plague ridden system to provide the help needed?
