Welcome to my true crime series, Gulf Coast Confidential. From murders to mysteries, I explore some of the saltier stories that surface in Northwest Florida and all along the Gulf of Mexico.

Gulf Coast Confidential Conversations is a companion series I've started with co-host Pam Hill to discuss the crimes I cover. Pam's sister, Sharon Aydelott was brutally murdered by her son on Christmas Eve 2013, and she is passionate about helping others learn from her tragedy. In this episode, we talk about the case that inspired my story, “I’ll Do the Cooking,” about Pensacola’s most famous serial killer, the Black Widow, Judy Buenoano.

We were both interviewed for an ID Channel documentary about the case that aired on the series "Very Scary People." Pam's dad had a relationship with Judy and their families often spent time together. The convicted killer even wrote Pam from death row.  Here's more on The Black Widow.
