And when the devil can manifest in a film, the images are powerful enough to trigger a Satanic Panic, which appears to be making a return as movies like Longlegs are using subliminals to pull a dark and demonic chord with people. Some will say that Satan has truly made a comeback with all of the so-called evil and immoral behavior in the world. When we look through the glass darkly, we can see that the ordinary can be twisted into something distressful and foreboding.
