Nadiya Hussain

In our very first episode of Grilling, Simon is joined by the one-and-only Nadiya Hussain. Nadiya rose to fame after winning The Great British Bake Off in 2015 - who can forget her Big Fat British Wedding cake? - and has since gone on to become a hugely popular TV presenter and author. In 2017, she was named by Debrett's as one of the 500 most influential people in the UK, which is quite the meteoric rise from her humble Luton origins. It's been an extraordinary journey. As they explore Nadiya's passion for food, she and Simon discuss the influence of her Bangladeshi origins on her cooking, her battles with mental health, and the pressures of being a role model as a Muslim woman.
