Episode description

In this episode of the worldwide popular podcast, we hear from a former Clough legend who now lives in Seattle in the United States.

Alan Hinton played for Wolverhampton Wanderers, Nottingham Forest and Derby County. Brian Clough signed him in 1967 and Alan has a wealth of stories about the Master Manager.

From Cloughie commandeering a police car to get his team to a match on time, to an emotional reunion in his final days at Forest.

Alan also describes how his sudden omission from the England squad affected him badly - and talks candidly about the tragic death of his nine year old son Matthew.

"Brian had a caring side - but when he wanted to be tough, hey, keep out of the way," says Alan, who is remembered for his footballing flair and those white boots.

There are laughs and periods of reflection in this exclusive interview by Marcus Alton, the editor of the non profit tribute website brianclough.com.

Alan's book, entitled Triumph and Tragedy, is published by GP Books. The interview includes details of where to buy it.
