today's episode of Mister Moto. Project seventy seven. Mister I A mos NBC presents the world's greatest international secret agent, mister Ia Moso, the popular Japanese character created by Puliter Prize winner John T. Markwan across the world from Japan the Jersey, from Cape Horn to moment, Mister Moto is fighting the evil of communism quietly, ruthlessly, courageously. The Night Story Project seventy seven starrying

Mister Motor Mister I A Moto Commander Free. It is so simple. The drawing board is here, pencils, rulers, a few lines, and I will unchange you at once. The answer is no. Oh, let's us pray that your stubbornness maybe fraud new Colossal thinking him a critical journey. No profanity, Commander, Please remember I am a minister of the gospel, because they I'll get you for this. Someday I'll beat that. Thank cimonious saving

yoursn't turn on the sun lamp again. You could tell us thank you, my dear listen, commander, you look like a holiday in Miami, so terrible sunburns Katawa cool the commander with a little more for haven't say from under three ear. If necessary, I will keep you under that sun lamp until your flesh can be flexed off and fed to the mountain birds. I always get what I want, O you always, and I want Projects seventy seven. The assignment on Project seventy seven began two feet in front of a jet

motor frying faster than suns the law. The jet never reached our ears as we streactly crossed the blue certificate thirty five thousand feet. I was mean sent for Tari, Japan, the land of my honored photo a Otoro rushed up to meets, looking white and serene. Beside the sparkling siegean I could see two hundred miles away across the Tata streets, the gloomy coast of Russia. I help orders to report to Captain Thomas Stanni the offer in charge of the

United States Labal Experimental Stations at As. The station consisted of two United States Destroyer of course d with doc at the end of which miss only sixth grade anti cut. Captain Stanny nother Santent was in his office. In her case, Randers Free did that loggerboard the night before last, and he has nothing saintin No. He is entirely in charge of budget seventy seven year and anywhere else. Didn't you know that? Yes, because I wondered if you did,

when will you like to see Randa Free? And I took the shelter and out nine days ago to win. Amanda Freer wished to test seventy seven of the Sascora Trent, the Tuscarora Trench. It's an onspiring sea, Mistermoto. There's a canyon on the floor of the sea just east of Japan.

Our sounding apparatus indicated depths of over five thousand fathoms five thousand, there's almost six miles there go on, even if it's enormous depth, even straight down through six miles of water, seventy seven caused explosions at the bottom of the tuch Aurora, and the tests have been successful. Beyond our wildest dream real. Yes, even underwater seventy seven traveled in extens of two hundred miles an hour. It isn't a torpedo. It's an underwater pullet. Small guest propels

with an atomic warhead. It will end submarine warfare. No submersible in the world can elude a guided missile traveling at that speed. Captain Stanley, are you aware that certain details of Protect seventy seven are already in the hands of foreign agents? Which, Tomoto, you're joking? No, it's absolutely top secret. In January, an associated Samanda Pears named Lowell disappeared in Paris. He had one of the anastrophic crystals with him. Yes, yes, I

believe Commander's Frear is the missing link. Jet To tells underwater missiles are in the arsenals of every mission in the world. The big obstacle hitting a missile on its costs. Underwater at the high speeds, he is hurtled by the unstocked crystal. Diagrams of the crystal and the exact wavelength figure exist only in two places, Washington and Commander Frere's head. Then he is the only man in the Aureate who can exactly all that the potential enemy needs to know is

the figure one followed by a decimal point and five unknown digits. This figure, just as drawing of the crystal equals seventy seven, so that its commander's fear was forced to talk the project to become the property of whomever he talked to order. What can we do, Commander Frear is my responsibility? Who sign last? The officer of the deck storm leave his laboratory and hutty It's

six forty five and night before last. Yes, it was the commander's habit to take a walk right A's to dinner every evening, ah where Sir blossoming Shalamar along the Tishima road. We used to send a man along with him, and he insisted he could take care of himself. A missionary named Kisdale saw on past it's the Reverend James Tisdale, a productant missionary. It's a

nice guy, not stuff he or anything like that. He has a mission up in the hills, married a native woman, and he saw command of fair row past the mission about seven to fifteen up to the hills freer ways and said, good evening. He hasn't been seen since then. I will begin with a man who saw command of fear. Last, I shall invite myself to tea as a mission of the veterans. James Tiddey just the motive. It is so refreshing to meet someone from the outside world. Thank you.

I get lonely for informed conversations. Oh MOUTI thank you devicious A Katawa cheap please, mister Moto. My wife is a Niner woman. She believes that the wife is a slave whose only duty is to serve her husband. She sings to her native customs and refuses to behave as my equal. She is Christian. No, I am leaving her conversion in the hands of the Almighty. I bring the tea masters you and more little cakes too. How thoughtful, I will say, mister Murdo thing you should be honored, mister

Moto. That is the first time she's ever done that. That, mister motive is Japanese on America. Thank you very much the tea Kate, our surpassing delicacy. Thank you, it is my honor. Tea. No, thank you, dear. That's all. Yes, you see what I mean. Sometimes I think all the mystery of the Orient is hidden in those beautiful jettis, and their hands so languid, so elegant, the breeding of uncounst centry. Yes, and now rereented. Oh yes, about Commander Fear,

I am very upset. The natives here, as you may know, are isles. Yes, I do know. They once occupied the whole of Japans. There are only some twelve thousand of them left now. Their situation is not unlike that of the American Indian at home. But basically they are honest, and I believe that because of this I can help you. And may I ask how the Isrols will talk to me where they would say nothing to an outsider. The country around here is wild and primitive, mostly hill name

hunters. Many of them are abandoned. Now. I suspect that a band of them somewhere in the hills have kidnapped Commander Fear and are holding him for ransom. I will ask about it at Prayer meeting. Tone you have a large pace, no, only four hundred converts in three years. But those who haven't braced Christianity are fervent and sincere. If Commander Prayer is anywhere in the district, someone in the congregation will come to me and tell me.

And when they do, you will contact me at the station, please or at once, mister Motor immediately. You have been very very kind, and this has been very very pertant. Command of Freyer's disappearance is more urgent than it appears on the surface. I will try to help in my humble way. Then I shall leave you now and thank you again. It has been my pleasure, believe me. Goodbye, Reverence is sale, good bye? Shot off down seller quickly and bring the straw and the needles. We have

wasted enough time on command of Fael. Now really, Commander Prayer, this has gone too far. It pains me deeply. You could be sold by the pound as broad beef. Now will you do as I asked? Chottoo can have my enormous sucidity. I could not advance blay my country hands upon the straw underneath. Commander Prayer is unconscious a little vinegar will revive him quickly. Choto, Yes, well he's a Oh now, Commander Payer, can you understand? Can you hear me? I won't do it except for the

method of keeping the missile on course. We have everything I want, the wavelength that excites that crystal and the diagram of the crystal itself. Now there is pencil and paper and the drawing board. I won't do it. I'm all you want to kill me your hand Chotto? Are you ready? Does the barbarian and lastal Commander Kyoto is an Anue warrior. If you insist on being stubborn, he inserts that straw under your skin and blows you up,

Commander Prayer until you burst like a balloon. You no things? You go ahead? Shoto? Yeah, no, no, don't please all right, I'll give it. God has banished the stubbornness from your soul. Unchanging Toto, Yes, hurry, tootle. Now come on the figures, just four of them, five five, define points one point one? Why? Three? Eight? And excellent? Now the drawing quicklick. It's so hard for me to help him. Yotok, are you comfortable, Commander? Then draw

the crystal? Ah, this is the Remember in and hour you can get back at the station. Have I the word, a few lines on a piece of paper, and you are free. I promise, Ah, there's gone backs on a paradise. This is seem must be exactly one wave line for the radiation for me and faith. Thank you, Commander Kyoto as Freda I listened, Catholic. Send a code cable to Comrade kabulosk in Blaod the

suck. You must get a plane to a tarow at once. Tell him I have obtained the last link in Project seventy seven, and that I will deliver it to him tomorrow night at seven in the Cafe of the Grinning Buddha on the salary that would and I will prepare for crab meaty. The man the fear is unconscious again, Well, perhaps it is easier that way disposed of him. You can bury him somewhere in the hills. That's the motto. You're wrong, tis Day is a minister of the gospel. I'm as

sure as I'm sitting here he's on a level there. Should you reply to my table any moment that the man radiates sincerity and integrity, I am sure the reverence Tod will gives an impression of great divinity. That's Captain Stanley. He is a life. Oh tell me one thing, he said. You forget Captain Stanley, that I speak Japanese. A's bluently as I do age. He told me he had four hundred positions on my way home from the mission. I've called on the tactics. They are simple people, good people,

that's certain Stanley. Not once did I see a course or a Bible, not in a single home. These people are not being teached to the energy about today. What does the free I heard an old woman a Cominomichi, the way of the fun. These people are being preached a new Shintoism, Shintoism with a new god to be worshiped, a god of communists. Judy tells them they are being exploited, the communist. All is worth on the minority group, repressed, the poor carried the table just came in,

sir from Amoto. Ah, thank you very much. And there's something else said, come on with laws. Ah. This is from the Board of Foreign Missions in Boston. No Protestants is nominission as a residence visionary. I thought follows. I was right. I can't believe tisday was a phone. Excuse me soon there's another message, and Coolly just brought this to the front gate of hut Sea. It's from a Tomoto to Fagons Lawson. That's all. I am so very very pleased. Everything is progressing very very well.

By telling me why this is from it. I knew woman, she deal wife. I knew I was right. I knew I recognized her sick. Yes, red, Why oh I am you do not read Japmanese. Forgive me, she writes to the first third to the first served during the fells this evening. I don't get it. An young woman of her breeding would always serve her husband's first, no matter how important or how numerous to get. And didn't she this afternoon when she served gacause she served me ahead of

Sidney first to t then with little cakes. That is what she means by to the first thirst and the bell. She wants me to come to her to night while the reference did Dale conducts what he calls his prayer meeting. Let is detail. Let me in tea, I am alone. School. You have come, if you are judge, yes coming, Please I prostrate my start to your beauty, and as it is, get your manners and graciousness, miess, the motives the understanding of my message came to you.

It's great clarity. Three times I have presented things from happening followingly. Harry could imitate the heat of my hate, but this I understand. I could not possibly defray my husband to a I barbarian. You asked what you love? Been sent to me by Paul. I'm stopped for the way in opening, fuming, disc turning, lost, furming your God, the day has stopped. It is the sinness, the most most honorable lady. Your eligence is beyond statement. But the matter is so very very urgent. May I

humbly beg you to proceed. The soul of command of free has fled his body when the Teesdale exposed into a lamp of the sun, until it was the color of boiling blood. This death, this spring, the diagony was of the crashing of whales. The servant of my my husband killed him in the hills. It's the commander. Give your husband any information about the weapon? This about a thing called seven seven, a bullet death flies beneath the

waters. What sort of information please hurry, honorable ladies. Smith is of desperate urgency a series of numbers and a blowing of a crystal. Where is the Tuesday carries at the value of the voting body the tomorrow night, Yes, it's rowing will be given to a man named Tablas rushing from Vladava. Fuck in the bring to them speak of the blossomy Shallima, how shower on you a thousand breads? What's the model? I ask only one thing.

It is I am a daughter of the house of Tom, the most glorious name, and I knew his See when I saw what the tisday were meant to do to my people, I married him. I fight him constantly. If he knows I have to crayed him, he will kill me. Then my usefulness to my people will end. I give you my word that you will be protected. Captain Sunny, I want you to send twenty men down

to the Grinning Buddha Cafe and arrested there at once. You and I will accompany the right any word of the pain not yet, but glad of us. Start is only a three hundred miles fight. All the radar stations have been notified. The moment cabalost lands, you'll be arrested. Every patrol boat in the harbor standing by. You have told the men that his there is not a minute g Then let us go at once for the cafe of the bringing buddhast stress shut. I told you not to come here. Earth happened

Sunday with twenty American sellers just the station five minutes ago. What do you mean they're going to arrest you? Arrest me? They wouldn't there evening, Master, the wife entertain the Japanese mist of what you're saying, I swear to fool. My brother watched her house while I was in the hills disposing that commander fear and I came back. He told me Mother thought to her

during a prayer meeting. My brother saw him, come and go. You will meet the power told in the best Master, you must leave that one there will be here any moment climbed. Not yet. The boat is waiting to be kissyplane to take the paper. Go out in the boat and give it to Kavalak. When you have delivered a stafely into his hands, come to the cave in the hills beside the Glasmon Bridge. The power and I will meet you there. Leaves her Master. She is against us. That

is why I shall take her with me hurry. Then when you are not here, they will got one to the mission, gets back paper to Kabalac. I will collect myring wife. You will meet us at the cave. They could look for a hundred years and not find us in those hills. I cannot understand it. Then she do your obviously left in the honey. But somewhere in this mission that woman would leave me a clue. It's a lot and fach the house thoroughly. There was nothing somewhere in this chapel we

will find Stummach. I know, Stanley. Let me quickly over. Here's the organ that turned on. I just thought core matches laid on the keys. I knew she would try to leave me a message. What is it? Waite and standing, don't touch the matches, ah acoustics on top of the organ. And for matches, I'm a key and let me think. I don't get it matches I'm a key, B and C, D G E. Bridge. Of course she gets the move of the organ running and spells out the word bridge. Yeah, but what break that is the crucifix

work in not a crucifixis for Lawton across across a bridge. What's there on the floor its flowers. A Judgment dottum across the Judgmine bridgetain standis I think you've got suffer. There are caves that there are a lot of them. The bridge crosses the gorge and leads to a pass up the mountain of your mother. You she wouldn't do it fur a coupain Sandys collect your mends. We must throw at once across the Judgment bridge. That's the semi street.

What anopheonist you know? To the right it has a life. Yes, you're thenocular feet ah a landon in front of a rock. What a woman? Jasmine blossoms at every turn in the past. And now a ladder. You're up there in one of the caves. The lantern is sticking from Siddale. Got a rock? Give me your result. The captains the motor please do it that the men are split out too much. Get them together and as quietly as it is possible for prenty American sailor to move. Have then

a post that I will go in first. No Kisdale to have machine guns rifles? Those cases are please please this is there is a brave woman, as samis to protector is there is capable of murdering her if he is common stop give me your whistles. I can't let you with this. Please, Dobs assemble the men as quietly as bubout all. Even if you hear shot. Do not come into that thing until I blow this with Katawa. You have sinned against your husband, sin deeply. But as a man of God,

I have decided to forgive you. Come here you. You are more like anither than a woman. You are very beautiful, and I love you very much, even though you are a heathen native im My ancestors were carving tea when you were cutting off each other's scars for summer. In five languages, I read and life. I read your karmas from Germans before you read it in English. Lazy fucking love you when you're excited. A months of charity and cons I say, and I've betrayed you before. Look I can't

Now Otto, I can explain everything. Keep now to put that Guns and Soto have been arrested of a trouble factor that he claimed them. No more time, Moto, it's no pleas. Hm hm hm, I am sorry. I think you do. You would have killed you. You are excused for ridiculous. There are American sailors outside. You're close at all would my coat thinking of that who save on my untendingly. You have been what I have been to a man who called him first a man of God.

He was not a man of God. He was a man of the devil, the great devil. You have just heard the world's greatest international secret agent, Mister I a Moso. James Monk stars as mister Moto. The script was written and directed by Harry W. Junkins, produced by Carol Irwin. Members of the cast were Bill Smith, Connie Lempkey, Bill Litton, Scott Tennyson, and Ian Martin. The music was transcribed This is Fred Collins Sinking And here was a preview of next week's story. Is mister I a

Moso? Thank you? Next week a story of danger and a fight of dainty unknowns, a search for the unsuspected man engaged in sabatos enough maybe a start of night watch over your feet and the post new Your Dreams is Dying. Didn't moved, he didn't changement, good night. It's just over Jubilee on NBC M welcome back. Well, I can't melodramatic and uh maybe a

little bit confusing though when you get right down to it. But every program is entitled to an off day, so hopefully we'll have something better next week. Well, we do turn to some listener comments and feedback. Michael has a question. I'm guessing the tape Dragnet shows. They taped Dragnet shows as opposed to live audience. This is accurate. How long did it take them to tape the show? What studio did they usually use? Well, thanks

for the question, Michael. Some of those I don't have firm answers on, but we do have some information. First of all, Dragnet was actually, if not recorded before live audience, it was recorded live and uptil nineteen fifty one, when the TV version launched, and so that would have been

recorded at NBC studios at that point. In terms of where they recorded the transcripted ones, I would probably guess at the lot where the Dragnet TV programs were filmed out at the boint of Istelot that Web specifically had built and designed for the programs. And at that time Web was putting out an incredible number of programs. On average, he was doing thirty nine television episodes plus most seasons. There was one season they took us summer break, but most seasons.

He was doing fifty two radio episodes, and there were movie projects. Really would not want to go down to NBC studios. I think common sense would suggest that they went ahead and they recorded the radio programs where they recorded the television shows. In terms of how long the radio programs took, what we been able to find from research was that Web did not have a did not have time for rehearsal. The programs were recorded as time went, were

recorded really in more of a reading style, with very few rehearsals. So these were not these were not jobs that took a long time. Even the television episodes only took a day and a half with no rehearsals. For radio, you know, and allowing for some mistakes. I think if I were to guess, I'd say probably an hour or two based on the information I've

been able to garner. So I hope that helps Michael. And of course that doesn't include all the time that work was done on the program, just because you know, writing, et cetera, all that does take time. But for radio it was never you know, as complicated as television without that visual format, and even without Web's insistence on a more minimalistic approach radio actors frequently, you know, would do ten or eleven shows a week, so

it would not be a long process. So I hope that helps, and I hope that the guess is based on the information I have found is not far off the mark. So if anyone has additional thoughts, I'd love to hear about it. All right, well, we will be back on Wednesday, when we'll continue with your truly Johnny Dollar. Join us next Tuesday for another episode of Mister Motto. And thanks so much for your support for the last thousand episodes, and we'll look forward to even better things to common our

next thousand. From Boise, Idaho, this is your host, Adam Graham. Soon and off, be sure to listen later on today for a one thousandth episode special
