Hey guys, thank you so much for joining us this week for another episode of Grave Girls Podcast. As always, it's mirror host hot Thorn and Heyzaul. So we watched the twenty twenty version of The Grudge. If you're not familiar, it is a Japanese horror film. Scared the shit out of me when I was in like seventh grade. Did you watch it back in today? I did, but this one scared the shit out of me and the theater so bad that I scared the person behind me that was three seats over,
and he scooted two seats closer. He was moving so much closer I had to turn around and look him in his optics. Ten I'm not playing. So we go to the Grudge and we're the only ones in there besides a Asian looking man. He was probably five seats away from us when we started, but then all of a sudden, he was like two seats away from us by the time the movie ended. And it didn't help that, Yes, Hazel and I were both screaming at the top of our lungs every
time something scary would happen. I think every time he scoot clothes a well, oh yeah, I'm surprised he didn't scream with how we were screaming. And it was even scarier because the whatever movie was playing next to us, you could hear it through the wall, so in a really quiet part, we weren't sure if we were hearing the fucking movie next door, or like if we were being haunted. Yeah, no, seriously. So a certain
part happens in the movie. I can't remember what it was, but it made it look like there was something in the theater like this was scary. It made the noise of a theater seat going back up. But it was weird because we were in a recliner theater, so like that noise shouldn't even have been there, so it just it just added on the creep factor for me. Fun fact, my nickname in middle school was the girl from the
Crudge. How cute is that? That's super Dwarves because I, you know, I had long, long, long, long, black hair, and I would put it in front of my whole face. Yes, I would go yeah. So we did not watch all of the Grudge movies. I don't want anyone to be confused listening to this and being like, wait they left out this, and that we only are doing the one that's in the theater. So I'm going to read the synopsis straight from Google because Amarellas isn't
here to write it for us. So here we go. The Grudge is about a detective who investigates a murder scene that has a connection to a case that her new partner had handled in the past. It actually might have go fucking crazy. It was. That's a really good part of the movie. Oh yeah. The killings occurred in a haunted house that passes on a ghostly curse to those who dare enter it. Soon, the curse spreads to a terminally ill woman and her husband, and another unsuspecting couple who are pregnant.
And we're in the wrong place at the wrong time. Another thing we're not going to tell the entire movie, because I hope you're on the same about as me. I really think people should go see it. Oh yeah, I agree. What did you think about the movie? I like it. I like you what their reviews are total ship. Just based off some of the reviews, they're like, oh, wasn't that scary? It was boring. Now the Grudge is and it was really good, really really good.
I would say go see it. What about I really think it should see it. Everyone agreed. Yeah, they were like, it's so worrying, and someone that was scary. I don't know what fucking planet they were on. I screamed my literal lungs out. I also really liked that it wasn't just the main grudge girl and like the little scary grudge kid. I liked that you'll see the movie. Obviously you're listening to this because you've seen it. Every single ghost was of someone that the Grudge ghost had killed and they
were now haunting the new people. So it was really well done too, because as the movie is told, not in order. I liked how it was a very cohesive. If you've never seen it, you got the point, ye. And the ending was a fucking twist. Yeah, it all ties up, It all ties together, does not leave you hanging at all.
It's so good. So we're only on the Sarah favorite parts or good parts, and we are going to start with saying all of the characters in the movie, did you want to start with the Lander's family, the one that we start on right when the movie starts. Yes, So missus Landers comes out of a house she's in Japan and she's on the phone and she's like, I just there's something off about this house. I have to leave.
I'll see you guys soon. I love you guys so much. Before she hangs up, and as she's about hanging up, she looks down and she starts seeing trash bags and they're moving. Let me tell you now, it looks like breathing. I'm not looking, I'm not staying. She went closer to closer, and then a bag behind her grabs her and right away I jump. I'm like the fuck, No, it's not an off strong. We were hooked right away. She finally gets home, she sees her
family. It's all loving, and then she ends up stabbing the husband. And doesn't she push him down the stairs too? Yeah? Yeah, she like pushes him down the stairs. He's dead. She goes drowns her daughter. It's like a really brutal drowning. She would like bash her face, her little daughter's like six year old face on the fucking tub. It was like bloody, and then left her in there, left her in there. And that's one of the scary parts too, because you see it later,
but you don't know that it's the daughter. Yeah, you see it a bunch of times picks you up, like how did you try to ruin baths for me? And then it shows a clip of her stabbing herself in the throat, in the throat and blood is everywhere. That's when the detectives, Goodman and Wilson get into the picture. Goodman refuses to go into the house. He consent something's wrong and he doesn't even believe, like that was one
thing he brought up like he didn't believe. And his partner enters the house, we see the shitty seas and he gets fucked up, like he starts getting haunted. He gets so bad that when the next family we're going to talk about moves in, he's still going to the house. Ye standing outside in the rain, talking to himself, psychotic about it. So that's the
Landers and how the detectives got involved. The next family we're going to talk about, or should I say the other main characters, because there are one, two, three, four sets of people in the movie. So the Landers first one the woman from Japan. She kills her husband, she drowns her daughter, she killed herself. Now we're one of the Spencers, the Spencers, it's what's his name Harold from Harold and Kumar and his wife. They are pregnant. Her name is Nina, and they find out that their
unborn child has a really high chance to be born with ALD. And we had to look it up in the movie theater because it was literally killing us. But it is a disease that's linked to the X chromosome. But basically it causes like seizures and it's just really bad and it only gets worse. They had to make it this really big decision in their lives because they had tried to get pregnant for so long. Are we going to keep this baby with Ald or are we gonna like abort it because the term pregnancy? Yeah,
yeah, because it happens. So if that's not enough, they're dealing with trying to sell the Lander's family home, but they can't get a hold of them because now we know they're far dead, but they don't know that. So Harold aka Peter has papers to sign. He goes to the house one morning. It was like right after they found out about the Ald. Oh yeah, okay, so the rain during the rain in the car they just left the doctors find out about the Ald. He's like, oh I
have to go to the house. We meet these papers sign. Yeah, they go to the house. He's knocking on the door. No one's there. For some reason. He opens the door. Yeah, he's like the Landerers, miss mister Landers, Hello, anybody here? He steps one foot in. That's when it all went south. That's all they need is that one foot in because they entered the house. All these people lived in the same house at one point or even just entered it exactly. The Spencers,
they never lived there. They're they're realtors. Yeah, they're trying to sell the house for them, and so Peter just walked in. Yeah, so he leaves. He's like, I'll just come back tomorrow morning. Whatever. So the next morning comes and Peter goes back to the door. He sees Melinda, which is the little girl that was drowned. He again doesn't know that she's like a now avengeful ghost. So he's like, oh, is
your parents' home. She's not talking at all. Let me tell you this, I would have called the police and I wouldn't have one in there. He goes in the house. But no, he goes in the house because there no starts bleeding horribly bad, like you slee bleeding and he's like, oh, let me help you with that. So it goes in the house. He stops it, and then he's like, so, where's your parents at? Why aren't they here? He calls his wife and he's like,
well, I'm still at the house. I'm waiting for the parents to get here. Still doesn't happen. He like turns away. He goes to the other room and she starts like falling up blood. It's like thick, like something's coming out of her. It's like a black, thick, disgusting, like what, oh my god, so gross. And it was even sad because the reason he had to turn away. His wife called and she decided
that she wants to keep the baby. She decided even if it's gonna be hard and it's gonna really fucking suck, it'll also be really good and she wants to do it. And he's happy because he wanted to keep the booby too. So he gets off the phone. He goes and checks on Melinda. She's not there. He hears footsteps up the stairs. Cell Now,
yeah, I'm like that's a definite note. I'd be like come downstairs or or by yeah, and he's like Melinda Hello, doesn't see her at all, and he hears noises coming from the bathroom where she was previously killed, and he opens the door, and when we were in the theater, Hazel turns to me and she's like, why would he do that? Like that's a little girl in the bathroom, And I'm like, yeah, well, she's been acting weird all fucking day, her parents at home. What if
she trying to drown herself? And then she's like, true, so that's exactly what happened. He walks in the bathroom and the tub is filled with water and it looked dirty as fun. Oh yeah, it did not look good. So he's he puts his hand in the water to see if she's in there, because you saw bubbles. Yeah, and this part got me too. Yeah, she fucking pulls him in all. He runs out of that room. He's fucking scared, and he sees another ghost woman walking around,
so he hides in the closet. And it was like a pretty cheape jump scared because you knew when it was you knew it was gonna happen. You just didn't know why we we're even saying it. She's in the closets she's in the closet. The closet. So now fast forward after the closet scene, he's at home. He doesn't announce himself. He's just like in the kitchen. He kind of like sneaks into his own house like his wife was expecting him, so she knew if she heard a noise it would be
him. But you know, usually when I get home, I'm like, hey, I'm home. You know. He didn't even do that. He just was making noise like in the kitchen. Yep. So she's like, honey, Peter, Harold, did you bring my wife? You guys, stop playing bro And she goes down. She's like, sweethearts, what's wrong? And he's fucking holding a sharp ass pair of those like old school scissors. Yeah, that you used to cut umbilical cords when they got like those
loud scissors, you know. Yeah, And you can see the fear in her face, the good scissors, Yeah, the one that cuts the wrapping paper right through. No, no cricket, just straight. If I was her, I would have dipped. Yeah, you're not gonna look at me crazy with scissors in your hand, you can't be messed up. But yeah, you can't see the fear on her face because he looks. Oh, it's scary. It doesn't show that he stabs her right then and there.
It just shows that he goes and attacks her a ton of times. Yeah. Oh, the scene was horrible when it showed it later on in the movie. Blood everywhere, blood all over the cabinets. It was so intense. And then he dies, how the little girl died. He drubs himself in the bathtub, So I thought that was pretty crazy. There was a little part I'm gonna mention that he did kind of pass over. But when he put his foot in the house that first night when he went home,
he's trying to sleep. Oh yeah, and this is my favorite part of the movie because I screamed like a little girl. But he's laying in bed and everyone lays in bed. Why does this movie trying to run sleep for me? I don't know. Blood and baths at that. Yeah, And the blanket gets pulled down and I have dogs, so this happens to me, Like I pulled the blanket back and it gets pulled on further, so you know, you go to look like what is it. You know,
he doesn't have a dog, he doesn't have a cat. His wife's pregnant. She's not gonna be fucking on the floor pull in the blanket. So I don't know what he expected to see. If I'm someone with none of those things in my eyes and go on a right to bed, I'm a kickers, So if you get kicked, that's on you, dude. But he looks and it's like a fucking scary ass face. I don't even know who it was. I'm assuming it was the Lander's mom. Either way, helpless, scary. It was so scary. Now the next couple is the
Matheson's. Yes, I also love this part of them. This was sad. This was a good part, but sad. Um So it's an elderly couple, Faith in William. Faith suffers from dementia and a terminal illness I think cancer. Yeah, it's and it's pretty bad. They live in the Lander's house. The woman who killed her daughter, killed her husband, killed herself. They live in their house, and what a twist that I wasn't
expecting. They moved there because it's haunted, and his reasoning was because if she dies in this house, at least she can still see her because they've been married for fifty years. And he can't leave her, and he also doesn't want her living how she is. Yeah, so he does invite somebody over to end her life or Moody Moody, Miss Moody, and she's assisted suicide consultants. I don't know how it was a thing. I didn't know either, I mean I kind of figured, but yeah, so faith her
sanity declines fast. She's scary as fot scary as fuck. She's actually the really cute, nice old lady and insidious, so it was crazy to see her now as like a creepy figure. So Miss Moody comes over and she tells William everything about it. She's like, look, they have to be in the right state of mind if they want to commit to this. Yeah, She's basically thing, I have to get the okay from that person. Yeah. Yeah, Like they have to be mentally competent to agree to take
their own life. You know, just because your wife is taken has dementia. I'm sorry, that's not a good enough reason to end her life. But she wants to be alive. That's we're fucking right exactly. Yeah. So he tells Moody Miss Moody, Oh, my wife's upstairs. Let's go up there and you can talk to her. She's like okay. They go upstairs and Faith is facing the window, so her back is to us, and she's like peekaboo, and it's the scariest shit I've seen. I was
like, what the fuck? Nobody's there, and she's like talking to somebody. You see it in Miss Moody's face. She's like, really, you said she was fine? Yeah. See, you can't just judge a book by its cover. Hazel does this weird fucking thing. She's not talking to you, but she's mouthing words and it's like the scariest thing you've ever seen in your life. And I always tell her to stop. And it's so scary. When we saw Truth or Dare, I could not stop doing the
faces. So right after that, Thorn is driving and I do the face to her and it almost made us crash. Auntie hitmy, but it was really funny. Though I told her to stop, We're always going to hit her. I don't know why she didn't understand. Unfortunately, I can't hit her when she does this because she's always fowt hers tuck away. I need to record her doing it, do you guys? Know what I'm talking about. Yeah, it's weird. You guys are gonna going to think I'm crazy.
To the Z, I'm jay Z's sister. They get closer to the bed, Faith puts her hands to her face and then yells, pick a boo. That scared the shit out of me because nobody's there. But it was too little Melinda, Miss Moody and William go out of the room and she's like, I told you I can't do this. Yeah, I'll stay a few days. We'll see if she's like mentally stable in a few days. But if she's not, then I can't help you. Yeah, to see if, like maybe when she breaks out of those like spells, Yeah,
and she's in a right state of mind. Maybe she really Because they just think it's that that it's the dementia. They don't think anything else. Yeah, maybe she really does one und her life, like he wouldn't just call for no reason exactly. Miss Moody suggests that William go and get some food so she can make a dinner for that night. He's like, no, how about you go do it? You get the food, come back.
She's like okay, it was like no other way around. He was like I'm gonna go oh and yeah, She's like, you're not me with your fucking wife. I'm gonna I saw what she did Peka boot at this. But she ends up leaving. She gets some groceries and she starts seeing stuff at the store. It's it's scary. All the meat was all spoiled or flies. Yeah, it was something like touches her hand and she's like looking around like what the hell was that? Goes to her car. I
don't know about you, but I check my car every time. I check the backseats, the passenger seat, period run. Yeah, like you're not getting me. Jokes on you. She couldn't see Melinda in the store, so she wouldn't a see Melinda in the car. Correct, But we don't even see Melinda until after she's about to drive off. That's when we see the detective in the driveway. Oh yeah, she's just standing outside talking to himself like, Hazel, look, I'm like a fucking creep. And she
goes inside and tells William like, hey, there's somebody outside. So he picks up the phone, calls the other detective and it's like, hey, he's backed out here. She's like what was that all about? And then he tells her, oh, that's the detective. He keeps coming here and she's like, why what happened? I hope it wasn't a murdo. He's like, it fucking was. She said, no way. So she stays
the night. She's nice about it, you know, she cooks. She can see how much pain that williams in, like he has a feuter baby food and like true to look a baby, and like that's his wife. She doesn't even look that old. But she decides to leave the next morning. She's like, peace to motherfucker. She was like, Ohm, William, I'm let me staying a long ass goodbye and get murdered. If I'm leaving someone's house and it's awkward, I'm just leaving, like I'm gonna leaving
out, Thanks bro, thanks for the hospitality. Bye exactly. But she doesn't. She's like, murray William when she walks into the kitchen and he's dead. But before that, she's bloody. Asked, dude, isn't um faith crying? And she hears that and she's like kind of like laughing crying. Yeah, yeah, it's so yeah, oh yeah, that's what she's doing. She's like, she has one of those big meat knives and she's
just hitting the fucking cutting board like this. I kind of thought that she's cutting carrots or something, you know, And if you knew Faith's mental state, you know she should using a knife. Ever, ever, she's not allowed to have knives. So she turns around. Her fingers are cut off and it is bloody, and she's like cackling like a witch. William's dead on the floor with a knife in his fucking neck. Oh my god, it was so scary, so intense, So she freaks out. She's like,
oh my god, jumps in her car. In the beginning, they show that there was like a bad car crash and somebody was dead in the car. So now it ties up that she's leaving the house driving. She jumps in the car after seeing William dad and Faith cutting off her own fingers. Then she jumps in the car. She dips, she just takes before she gonna left her right. But she goes right and it's like a back road, like no one uses this road, like this is not a road
normal people use. And when she looks in her back seat, she sees Melinda's dad. He was at the scariest goist, remember, and he like grabs her. So she turns off the road, hits a truss. What happened breaks her fucking arm, and then all of a sudden, her head explodes. I don't even know how she died. I don't know if he like hit her head on the window or if the airbags exploded. I don't don't know. But that ship was intent. It was nasty. And those
are all the Matthieson's slash miss movie. Yep, now we're on too, the new detective slash. The main character in the whole movie Muldoon. So Muldoon isn't a detective. She just moved to town after her husband died from cancer. She has I don't know how old seven or eight year old son in Burke. He's kind of timid and afraid of everything. And they have the saying what do we do when we're scared? And the boy always replies, we close our eyes and count to five. And then they close their
eyes and they count to five. This comes to fruition later and she sees the car in the woods and she's like, who is this woman? How does this happen to someone? And she immediately starts getting obsessed with the case. She tracks it to the last detective who goes crazy. Like we said, she finds out about the Spencers, and she finds out what happened to them, She finds out about the Landers, you know, all of this, and she has a kid and she cannot imagine how mother could do that
to their own kid. Yeah, and the detectives do you talk about it? But her partners like just drop it. Yeah, He's like, you need to leave this alone. Yeah, because I don't think he wanted her to know the extent to how crazy his last partner went. But this guy went so crazy that he gouged out his own eyes with his fingers just to stop seeing the visions he was in a psych word, it was so disgusting
and so real. He gets so fucked up with this case, like he's seeing things, and I kind of wish you would have seen a little bit more of that. We did see a good amount, but a little more would have been cooler. Yeah, Because he starts getting so obsessed, he makes tapes of all his encounters, Yeah, all his information. He has very detailed files, and he actually tries to kill himself. He tries to shoot himself because he's so sick of this curse. And that's how we gets
locked up. But Detective Muldoon, she has to go to the house. The address is forty four Rayburn Drive, and she makes the mistake of going inside because the clues and stuff led her there, and that's when she comes in contact with Faith. But we don't know that Faith is dead at this point. No, she just seems like it's a really saddled lady. And she's like crying at the sink. Yeah, the same sink that we see later when she's chopping off her fingers and killing her husband. She's like,
can you feed me? Oh my god. When she said that, it almost got me to cry because but her back was still turned so she still seemed like a cute old lady. She seemed like a cute old lady. And she turns around. This is my favorite part. So she doesn't turn around all the way yet, but she does start to turn around, and Faith does and her hands in her mouth and I already knew that either when she was like eating the fingers or something, because her hand was dirty.
It was like blood, dried blood, and like it kind of thought she was trying to make herself throw up. Yeah, and I thought that's what she was. She was kind of throwing up, yeah, but no, surprise, surprise, she bulls that out of her mouth and we're like, so all of her fingers are gone. We're like, what the fuck? It looked like she was just nobbing away at her fingers. Dud. It literally look shit eat in her own fingers. Yeah, So muldoon. She
freaks the fuck out. She's about to run out, and the is the TV on? Yeah? That makes her go over there. I think it was TV. The TV's on and Faith starts screaming, no, don't leave me. And that's scary as fucked it. Oh my god, I got literally chills right now just freaking thinking about it. That's how good it was. So the TV's like statick. So she goes in there and it's William
in the recliner dead. There's flies on him. It's so disgusting. So she runs out to her car and she's in a panic like, Okay, I'm at forty nine blah blah blaw street. We need an ambulance stat and Faith is still alive at that point. When the ambulance goes there, she that well they take her to the hospital and well, they don't know why she lost her fingers. She is just an old lady with dementia. You know, she could put them up on accident, So they were treating an
elderly woman who had no fucking fingers. Either way, though, the nurses did not do their part and let this woman wander. She goes up a couple flights of stairs. She's like looking down, but she's following Melinda. She's like, I'm coming, and you're like, oh, Faith is sitting on the bed, so yes, she's like following her up the stairs like I'm coming. I don't know why any nurse who saw her on the stairs wouldn't have done something. That's what I'm saying. They didn't do their job.
This is like, I know, it's just a movie, but in a hospital they're supposed to stop the patience like no matter what, and even to say, oh, are you okay anything like that. But no, they did not do that. And she throws herself over the rail, over the rail, thank you. She drops a ship ton of floors and she likes hits her neck on another rail. Remember that, and it's like yeah, And then it was lucky dropped the water balloon full of blood, and
this is realistic. I've seen somebody jump off a bridge. Here in Las Vegas there's a Venetian, it's a casino. I've seen somebody jump off of their So how they did the body in the movie was so realistic because it's like flat yellow blood. That's all it was. All these things are going on. Muldoon is on the trail. She starts seeing ghosts and the old detective, the old partner that went crazy. He says, you know, you gotta burn down the house and that'll make it stop. So she takes
her son in the car. I don't know if this was smart on her part or not smart on her part. I would have loved it with my new partner personally. And she has this big ass and a gay Selene. We're right here. At the end, she goes through the house and this is another really good part because she walks through the house and sees all of the ghosts and all the deaths and is like, wow, it's is this house. This house is cursed and it shows each death like it just plays
each part right in front of her. It was crazy, And she finally is about to light the match and her son is in the house and she's like, Burke, I told you to stay in the car. My mom, Yeah, I was scared. And she goes, Burke, what do we do when we're scared? Dude? This is what I know. And Burke says nothing, and she's like, Burke, what do we do when we're scared? Just kind of annoyed at this point, like trying to let a house on fire. I fucking told her to stay in the car.
This house is haunted. You can't come in here. And she's like, we count to five, silly, and the Burke is like, oh yeah, one to three now, and when she says five, she strikes the match and like row him out of fire. And you're like, what the fuck, No, I'm just kidding. Everyone knew it was ghost. And then she runs out of the house. You see it burned down. It's pretty fucked and Burke, it's out of the car though, So I was
something is that even Burke? Dude? Okay, So I was thinking if he would have stepped foot in the house, but like ran out because he probably saw that ghost pretending to be him. He's now cursed because he stepped foot in the house. But we don't know any of that. But that's just what I was personally thinking. I just wonder, like she told him to stay in the car, like like that same thing. Is he now fucked because he didn't? And like did he Like what if you just go
in the porch? Like does that count? Yeah, we don't know how far he got. Yeah, We're just gonna go to the end now because I don't want to give every everything away. She feels accomplished. We'll dunes like I fucking did it, got my kid and then I live this good live. She walks out of the room and she gives her son Burke a hug, and she's like, everything's gonna be great, sweetheart, this is our time. We have a great day at school. And then behind her,
you hear, okay, mom going to school. She's hugging someone whoever. She just poured out all of these emotions too, and it's fucking ghost Melinda. Dude, dude. I was literally like ah, and then she gets dragged away by Fiona, Melinda's mom. We didn't know this until we read it because I just don't know if I just didn't notice the decor or something. The house Muldoon is in is the same house the Spencer's died in, which is crazy. So now there's like two uses. So I'm wondering
they're going to continue from that house? Is burke? Okay? Yeah? And now is she gonna have to burn that house down? Is Muldoon even alive? That's movie The Grudge? What do you rate it? Out of five? I give it a five, and yeah, I would buy the movie. Would you read another? That's all? Wow? Okay? I would read it a strong high three point five right in the middle there only because I hadn't watched any of the other Grudges before I watched it, so
maybe there are some things that I talked it out. Yeah, I could have tied up some loose sense. I'm not sure. It was a lot of jump scares, though I kind of wish that now that I know that it was a Spencer's house. Why did they make that a little bit more clear? Just as kind of weird about that, like her living in their house because she's a detective. Wouldn't you have checked out your new house? Oh? Yeah, I really liked it. Though people are reading haters online
giving it what was it a two? I would not say it's a two. A two to me is like one of those like low budget shit ass movies, even Creep on Netflix that even wasn't a two. Yeah, the gore was done really well. Even the like Ghosts the CG guy on those are done really well. The story was fucking great. It was kind of
like a Law and Order mixed with like Ghosts. So awesome and I really think you should go see it. We actually had to go see it at a gheto ass movie theater even though it only came out like two weeks ago, because so many people didn't like it. I'm kind of in shock. I really am in shocked by the reviews and maybe just go for the fun of being scared. That's why I'm writing it so high jump scares I is what pulls me in. The reason I want to scream and I lose my
voice. That's a winner to me. The reason I go see scary movies is to be scared. So yeah, we really think you all should see the movie. And now we're going to the story section of our episode. Do you want to go first? You want to go first? I want to go first? Okay, sorry first, Well, you haven't been here in a while, so I mean, I've missed you guys. I'm so glad that I get to do my I survived segment. As you can tell,
I'm very very happy. My story is off of reddeck dot com that's called My NaN's Old House, not mad Within, but Nan for Grandma like Nana Chaz. Around October twenty nineteen, Anthony's Nan, also known as his grandma, was moved into a nursing elderly home. Over the past few years, Anthony's grandma was seeing ghost and things move around the house. Even Anthony saw some's suspicious activity going on in her house, didn't say anything, just
brushed it off, you know. He was very creeped out and did not want to go back to her house. Though. The family was thinking that she had dementia because she was saying that she was seeing things, you know, talking to herself. So that's why they decided to move her in a home. That's really sad because imagine being that old and you start seeing things. So you tell your family and they're like, wow, it's just dementia.
It could be a ghost or a malevolent forced you never know. You don't know, Just like my story ties in perfectly to the movie because since they think that she has dementia, you kind of think that in the movie that elderly woman has dementia because you do see her talking just fucking ghost Yeah, I mean she does in that case, in that g Yeah. So it takes four days to move all of her stuff out of her house. And throughout these four days, Anthony, the grandson, is seeing stuff and
he's hearing shit, and he's just like really freaked out. He's just trying to be in and out and I like, let's get this done. I don't want to see anymore ghosts. So the past few years he's been like telling his dad like, hey, I see shit in that house, and the dad's just brushing it off like it ain't shit. On the third day, they are moving out all of the big stuff, the furniture, the chairs, his dad and Anthony lifts up the chair and his dad sees an
imprint on the arm and they see a little bit of movement. Nothing crazy, but how I imagine it is that person in the chairs getting adjusted in the chair. Oh gross, Yeah, like lift it. They're lifting it as they see it. I would to drop that shit. Anthony looks over and sees the blinds on the floor open and then shut. He tells his dad. His Dad's like, nah, that didn't happen. You're tripping.
They throw the shit in the truck. Now it's the fourth day. Anthony did not want to clean his grandma's room out because that's where he saw the most stuff happening. And he did see as they were moving everything out, stuff going back and forth in that room. So he's like, scared shitless right now. He goes to the room and he's like throwing all of her clothes in the bag. He sees shadows in the room and then he hears
talking, so he's like, I'm gonna be quiet. I'm gonna try to listen to it because if I am hearing shit, I want to know what they're saying at least. And he hears this, there's no point just leave her over there chills right now. So I'm assuming they're talking about the grandma and fucking home right now. They clear out the house, they leave it, they don't hear anything of it. Anthony go sees his grandma in the home. She doesn't remember him. The first time, I was super said,
but get this, the second time, she remembers him. It was like nothing had happened. Hey, Anthony, they start talking about old memories, and I feel like it's like she really didn't have dementia. Like, yes, she's older, she doesn't need help, you know, around the house. All of her memory came back. You know, we don't know if she did end up having dementia. But from that right there, and what I got from the story was that it was the ghost semestering with the
grandma. It wasn't that she had dementia, but it was that she was really seeing stuff and was really talking to those people. I could see that. You know. I could also see, like with my grandma personally, sometimes she wouldn't remember a lot of people, and then all of a sudden, if she saw them again, she would totally remember them. Oh yeah, so it would be the ghost like tricking her slash. Maybe she does have like the beginning stages. Yes, And maybe now that she's in a
place where they can actually take care of her that she's improving. Could be that. I don't know. Yeah, I agree. Wait, so the what happens, that's it, Like she gets to the home and then she's better, She's better, That's what I was saying, she's better after that, she's in the home. They're having a jolly time after like the second time. So I think the spirits were like, we're just gonna leave her alone now, and unlike in the movie when Faith got away from the house,
they were still following her. Oh my god. Yeah. So I mean it's glad that in this case Nani was saved, but in the movie Faith was not. Hawthorne, would you admit it? So I have a really shortcase. It's pretty recent. I'm just gonna get into it. My murder this week is actually a murder suicide, just like the movie. Monday, July ninth, twenty eighteen. A man comes home from work and he has a wife named Vera. He has a four year old son named Octavio
and a twenty one month old daughter named Miranda. You know, you come home from work, you have kids, you expect it to be loud, the regular hustle and bustle of a seven pm night. She's probably a dinner going, the kids are probably watching TV. You expect noise. But he comes home and it's dead silent. He walks in the house and he's looking around. They couldn't be asleep right now. Maybe they could, but she
would at least be doing something. He hears absolutely nothing. He begins to search their apartment, which they had just moved into only a month prior, and he finds his two children, four year old Octavio and twenty one month old Miranda, laying face down in a full bathtub, clearly had been drowned. Oh my god. He pulls their lifeless bodies out of the tub. He lays them on the ground. He attempts to save their life, and during this he realizes, where the fuck is my wife? Where is Vera?
She should be hearing me in pain, She should be helping the children. So he leaves them and he searches their bedroom, and that's when he finds his wife had hanged herself in the bedroom, so she obviously had drowned the children went in the room and then show herself. He tries to prosuscitate them the best he can. He calls nine one one and they arrive around seven thirty pm. They all try to revive them with CPR, but they
are pronounced dead at the scene. They do autopsies the whole nine and they really come to realize it's just a murder suicide. Via had been struggling with depression. I think postpartum depression. It's a really serious problem that a lot of people really try to just brush under the rug. One thing that I also thought was interesting was the woman from Japan, Fiona Landers. She totally could have had depression from being away from her family so long in Japan and
then returning trying to make it be how it was. So it's just a tragedy all around. My sources for this case are from KMG, NOOW dot com, New York Post dot com, and ABC dot com. I chose this murder because in the movie Melinda's mother Fiona, she drowns her daughter in the bathtub, leaves her there for someone to find, and then commits suicide. And in this case, when the father comes home, he finds that his two children have been drawn in the tub and left there, and that
his wife had killed herself. I know it was short, but when I read it, it just stuck so well. I do want to give the full names of all the victims. The mother's name, she's thirty two. Her name is Via Lucia Diez Nunez. Her four year old son's name is Octavio Farfan Diaz and the baby, twenty one month old Miranda Farfan Diaz. That's so sad. That was a good case. So oh my gosh. The only weird thing is, even though I read probably thirty articles, I
cannot find the father's name anywhere. I'm guessing his last name is Diaz, but I don't know. So if you can find his name, please shout me out on Twitter. But that is our first minisote of the year.
