Episode description

Today on our Grace at LAST podcast we look at scriptures that are used to control people. Many times we are mistaught or taken out of context certain verses and it may put ourselves or others under bondage that is not of God. Many times, we are told we need to ask for forgiveness and obey our leaders that teach us the Bible. All of that is in the Bible but when it is taught to those who are in Christ and Christ is in them, they become false teaching. Hebrews 13 says to obey our leaders and this verse has been used many times to try and control people and prevent them from following the Holy Spirit’s leading if it is different with heir doctrine. We need to expose this control and recognize it goes all the way back the Pharisees in Jesus’ day and has the same motive at the root; control. Let’s put these verses into context and understand who is speaking and who he is speaking to and see what we can learn from there. I am so glad you joined in today.

1 John 1:9

Hebrews 13:7

Hebrews 13:17

Hebrews 10:24-25
