How Will New York's Salary Transparency Rules Affect Hiring Nationwide?
May 02, 2022•15 min•Season 3Ep. 47
Episode description
A law passed by the New York City Council and slated to go into effect late this year requires employers to include the minimum and maximum starting salary for any advertised job, promotion or transfer opportunity. Advocates say that the law will help shrink wage gaps affecting historically disadvantaged people by way of increased salary transparency.
Peter J. Glennon is a longtime business and employment litigation attorney at the Rochester-based Glennon Law Firm PC. As part of our #MoneyMonday series, he joined the show to discuss the New York law and the nationwide salary negotiation implications of the law.
